Im always baffled when people dont know kinning is the same thing as introjecting. I thought everyone knew that was why being plural is under the alterhuman umbrella with therians and otherkin....

Experiences in the Alterhuman Community (and Beyond) as a Fictive
It's a weird experience being a fictional character, especially dealing with fandom, the fact that your source is fictional, and interactions with people based on that--including some of the dehumanisation that's so common toward fictionfolk. I'm gonna go into that here because I need somwhere to collect my thoughts, so this might get long. I'll be talking about my experiences as a fictive, but this could very well apply to anyone who identifies as a fictional being--fictionkin, fictionlinkers, etc.
So, I see the version of me on the screen as an AU version of me, in short. I mean, I'm me, and I don't think I even looked exactly 1:1 with my canon self--so naturally, even though events line up pretty closely, I see my source as... Almost like a fanfic of my life? Like sure, that's decidedly me, and decidedly a lot of the things that happened to me and my friends, but also not me. I'm not that guy on the screen, he's what represents me.
Even though I fully believe I got here by dying in a literal past life, my source media here is absolutely fictional to me and I just... Don't look at it in really any other way. Which I guess makes sense if you put it into my perspective--what else would it be? It really is like reading a fanfic based on your life though, or reading an article about yourself in the news. A bit of a shock, a bit of "why did they include THAT?" sprinkled in here and there, a bit awkward sometimes, and it does tend to resurface bad feelings. But overall, it's not that personal to me. I'm largely fine with it existing.
On the other hand, what is shocking is that people see me as fictional. I'm a fictional introject, from a fictional source, from the perspectives of a lot of people here. But I look at my source and I go well... Yeah, that's fiction of course, but my life is an actual thing that happened to me. Realistically I know that not everyone has spiritual beliefs and not everyone even accepts fictional identities as something "real", but man is it weird to just... Have it be spun in such a way?
I'm used to being in the media, I'm used to having cameras on me and being in the public eye. I'm used to articles and stories and posts on the internet. I'm used to fans even! But this isn't your regular, run-of-the-mill experience of people wanting to know you because you're a hero. This is people who see your life and experiences as a fun story they saw in a book or on TV, coming up to you with the idea that you're their favourite character, and not... A whole entire person. It's so damn weird.
There's still that level of disrespect that comes from people who are a little parasocial with you, but it almost hits deeper here because a lot of the time, you know they're not seeing a hero or the things you've literally done in your memories. They're seeing that guy on the screen they think is cool, and while he represents you, he's not you. And they're treating you like a celebrity because of that weird fanfic version of you on the TV or in that book.
There's usually little acknowledgement of your life or experiences as "real". When you're presenting as your fictional identity around others, you tend to get put into one of a few camps:
Cool Character from Media who I love and adore and want to talk to (and will probably get fanperson excited about it). I will probably get dispraportionally upset if Character tells me to back off a bit because I don't want my blorbo to be mad at me.
Character from Media I'm in love with and will immediately start asking invasive questions to or outright flirting with. Could get real gross real quick.
Problematic Character or Guy From Problematic Media that I instantly dislike because that's so Problematic how dare you show your face. I'm reporting you for being Character, you should change your identity if you want to exist so bad.
Character from Media who is disabled/queer/mentally ill/has any soft personality trait ever and I will now be treating you like a sweet little babyboy cinnamon roll who could not hurt a fly.
Person who identifies as Character? How interesting! I'm going to really pry and question everything from your actions in-source (to get unique perspectives from Character) and question literally everything else. Because this is Science and I'll get mad if you don't tell me everything, you need to tell me everything or you're rude.
Of course there's nuance and there's absolutely times where you'll be treated as a normal person, but the above are... So damn common. I've been here for a few months and I've already had some weird stuff happen to me simply because I'm Kirishima and people feel entitled to give me cutesy nicknames or whatever. Even without knowing me or my system at all beforehand. It's just.. So different from anything I've experienced before? Being treated like a celebrity is dehumanising enough, but being treated like a character.ai bot or just generally a form of free entertainment and not a person is so perplexing to me.
There's also that if you're from a popular source, you see stuff about yourself everywhere. Posters, plushies, advertisements, posts on social media--all of it. Some of that I'm used to already, but it's kind of weird when you're mentally aware that this is all for that twisted-mirror version of yourself and not you. And if you get a little uncomfortable at some fanart showing up out of the blue, or someone making a source related joke... You're kind of just expected to brush it off. Which yeah, I get it! It's about the source, not me, but it's still just... A weird feeling. A feeling of not being allowed to be upset because it's about the source and not literal you.
I think there needs to be a line, maybe. Not saying that fictives should be putting a stop to any media or fandom ever, just.. That maybe respect toward us for being uncomfortable with fan content due to being a fictive or fictionkin should be more normalised. It should be more okay to say "hey, I'm Character, please don't joke like that" to a friend, or "don't send me fanart of this thing, I'm Character and that's weird"--which it normally is! But there does tend to be a sort of layer of "Oh, it's because you're Character. You know that's not you, right? You shouldn't be upset, you need to source separate more."--when if most other people were to set a boundary like that, it would usually be respected. Source separation can be great, but if someone hasn't separated or doesn't want to, why is it okay to still send them material they're uncomfortable with--or at least, why do people tend to argue that the fictive should "just separate from source" instead? It... Just boils down to alterhumisia toward fictionfolk, honestly. It sucks.
There's a lot of problems with basic respect toward fictionfolk of all kinds--hell, even in the alterhuman community where it's meant to be safe. I don't know if this rant is entirely coherent or not, I don't know if there's anything noteworthy to take from it--but if you do take something from it, let it be that fictionfolk want to be treated like people. Source separated, not source separated, canon divergent or compliant, hearted, linker, 'kin or 'tive--we're people. Don't let our identities change the way you instinctually treat us. Let us be openly us, and treat us as you would anyone else.

some sys HCs about Fun Ghoul because there is like no OSDDID HCs in the killjoys except for 2 things and I'm willing to make that 3
(these are gonna be partly based off of the popular(?) HC that Fun Ghoul was a labrat for BLI, though loosely)
This is Part 1, Part 2 will be more thoroughly discussing the alters outside of Fun Ghoul. This will be a more general overview of the system, what they go through, and and mostly just how Fun Ghoul kind of found out about the system
If ygs are interested, and would like me to do HCs on the other members systems (though I only really HC Fun Ghoul and The Girl as systems, I do like making up HCs for the other members), or have any thoughts, lmk!!
There's around 9 known alters, including Fun Ghoul. There's 1 persecutor (Dasher), 1 introject (Katty, short for Mousekat), 2 littles (Vanta Heart and Rosey Sun), 2 protectors ("Mag" and Coco), 1 caretaker (Mistress), 1 trauma holder (Flash Page), and then Fun Ghoul.
While the rest of the system has fronted before and some even made themselves known to others, Fun Ghoul was mostly unaware of the system for a long time.
The only reason Fun Ghoul manages to catch on a bit is because he has a camera he uses to record for projects or for future reference, and the alters in the system tend to record things on their own, ESPECIALLY the littles, but some of them forget to delete them afterward so Fun Ghoul doesn't find them. As you probably inferred, Fun Ghoul finds the recordings, and finds it really weird, so he investigates, and starts by asking Kobra Kid, as they both work on the trans am together, so he assumed he did those videos. After discussing, Fun Ghoul is confused to learn it was supposedly him that did those videos, and even went by names he never even heard of let alone considered as a name.
After a while of discussing with Kobra Kid on what's been happening, and what's wrong with them, with the little information they have, he decides to be honest and talk with the rest of the group about this. This was reacted to with a general consensus of shock.. but not for the reason he thought. Apparently, they were already aware of some of his alters, but thought he knew so that's why they didn't mention it. When learning of that, he's quite frankly more confused than the rest of his group. When questioned on how long it was like this, Party Poison explained he was always like that, even when they first found him.
Despite all of this, none of them really know the term for what he has, though Jet Star recalls hearing a condition that's similar to what's happening to him, but she can't put her tongue on what it was called.
For a few days after this reveal, Fun Ghoul was just in a constant state of shock. He didn't really talk to anyone and even if he did, it was very brief. He often stayed at their current shelter with The Girl as the others did supply runs and whatnot to just process what the hell happened, which everyone was understanding about.
While unaware of the trauma, Fun Ghoul feels intense fear and hatred whenever he sees the Director or even hears her mentioned, though he can't understand why. This fear also reaches to not only the pornodroids (to an extent anyway), but his own face. He often refuses to look in the mirror, because he's reminded of her, even if only faintly. (as he is the "child" of The Director, a clone, so he looks pretty similar to her)
Fun Ghoul gets nasty headaches, nearly got himself killed during a run in with the dracs because of them. In some of these headaches, he actively refuses to take off his mask, covers his ears tightly as he sits alone in a corner, pushing everyone away. The only person he occasionally allows to come close is Kobra Kid, very rarely The Girl.
and that's all I can think of rn lmao 💔 sorry if it's not really something you'd like, i know it isn't very much but I'm working on half a braincell give me a break (/dram)

Rating “DID Faker Symptoms"#2  - Bingo Edition
Tumblr media
i found another DID faker bingo, specifically for tiktok, from r/fakedisordercringe and i have to rate it because this is pathetic.
used to cosplay: if you’re referring to those people that used to cosplay, like, anime characters, and then suddenly discovered DID and now they have a system of 400 introjects and they post videos of them cosplaying and saying “not a cosplay!” but then tag their videos with “#cosplay”, i’d probably agree with you. but in general, i can see plenty of reasons people with DID would have used to or currently do cosplay, so i feel like this is a bit of a broad experience to say that all people who claim to have DID that used to cosplay is a bit of an inaccuracy. overall, somewhat inaccurate.
dream/wilbur/tubbo/etc etc: yeah, i agree that most of the teenage DSMP fans on tiktok who claim to have DID with 100 DSMP fictives or something probably don’t have DID and are just confused. it is more than likely they found out about DID through tiktok or instagram or twitter and then proceeded to only do their reading on said websites without actually trying to understand the disorder through research, and then decided that the myth that “DID is sooo under researched” was true. accurate.
alternative clothing and heavy makeup: i don’t agree that someone dressing in a certain way shows that they’re faking DID. it just shows they have a sense of fashion and know how they want to dress. this is a stupid criteria. deeply inaccurate.
fictives/factives/fuzztives: someone having a fictive/factive isn’t a sign of a faker. i have an introject (’factive’ specifically) of my abusive mother, for example, which is an extremely common experience in DID. ‘fuzztive’ is a stupid term that i dislike quite a bit, but overall this criteria is dumb. inaccurate.
fake accents: some alters can have accents, this has been documented before, if i remember correctly. the reason they come off as poor though, is because if someone speaks only english and lives in america, they’re not going to have the muscle or brain memory to pronounce, say, a british accent perfectly because they haven’t lived there or grown up there. it’s why you get the pronunciations of words in other languages that you don’t speak incorrectly, you don’t have that muscle memory. overall, inaccurate.
on camera rapid switching: rapid switching generally happens when you are in distress, and honestly i find it unlikely that if someone is in that much distress, they’ll be able to whip out a camera and film it unless it’s happening on a livestream and you happen to get triggered. maybe if you happen to get triggered while filming for whatever reason, sure. overall, mostly accurate but i can see some circumstances where it’s not a faking/over-exaggerating thing.
does not want to get diagnosed: if someone doesn’t want to get diagnosed because it may impact their ability to get things like certain jobs that require your medical history, then i can understand that. but most of the time, these people don’t want to get diagnosed because they don’t want treatment, or misunderstand the impacts that a diagnosis can have on your life. it will not take away your ability to drive, get a house, or get most jobs, because it’s not legal (at least in america) for most of those places to look through your medical history. in certain jobs, such as the military, government, and healthcare jobs may require looking through your medical history, as well as potentially adoption agencies and social workers for foster care (i’m not 100% sure on that one), but that’s about it. getting diagnosed will not ruin your life. overall, i think this is more of a general misinformation thing rather than a faker red flag. somewhat inaccurate.
alters dating each other in the headspace: there’s actually several good reasons this can happen. two parental alters may be dating/married because they may be representations of the internal parents that the person never had externally, and may be caretakers. on the flipside, they could represent their own abusive parents and troubled home life. it can also show that two alters have a very close connection in some form, or that they’re pretty integrated and have a good, stable relationship with each other. overall, mostly inaccurate.
opposed to integration: 100% this is some malingerer or confused person bullshit every time, because it shows this person has not done a single second of any actual reading into DID, and shows they don’t understand what integration and fusion are at all. most likely, they learned this shit from the poorly informed communities they are in, which means that they are not qualified to self-diagnose. i say self-diagnose specifically because the people that are against integration are in no way shape or form in therapy, because a therapist would call them out and tell them the differences between integration and fusion. accurate.
several piercings: no, FDC, having a sense of fashion is not a sign of faking. get over yourself and find real symptoms of malingered or factitious DID. deeply inaccurate.
brightly colored hair: see above. inaccurate.
self-diagnosed: as a self-diagnosed person with DID, i actually see both sides to this argument very well and have a complex relationship with the concept of self diagnosis as a whole. as someone who’s been stuck in an abusive situation for a very long time, lacks the money or resources to see a therapist for diagnosis/treatment, and has had to do the hard reading into DID to learn about its structure and treatment, i support self diagnosis. however, that doesn’t mean everyone is doing it correctly. when you self diagnose, you have to do the hard reading into the disorder you believe you may have, more than just a fucking google search and a look into webmd. you have to do the hard reading, read books and papers. you have to accept that you could be wrong, even if it feels unlikely to you, and you should come up with a differential diagnosis for what you could be experiencing if you’re not experiencing what you think you are. you should also accept that what you’re experiencing may not be abnormal at all, once again, even if it feels or is unlikely for you. that is a RESPONSIBLE self-diagnosis. most people on the internet are doing it horrifically irresponsibly, and even handing out poorly-researched diagnoses over the internet to other people. this is incredibly irresponsible and gets people hurt and sets them up for failure. overall, i fall into a somewhat inaccurate.
“endogenic systems are valid”: this is a syscourse topic and is left up to whoever is reading this to decide if this is a sign of a faker or not. i don’t care. neutral.
lives in a nice house: oh, sorry, i forgot people who live in nice houses can’t be abused?? my ex-stepfather abused and traumatized me and my sister, and his parents were incredibly rich, as in, one-percenter rich. he had borderline and bipolar that were undiagnosed for years, and even after getting diagnosed, he refused treatment and refused to get better, and was also a drug addict/alcoholic that was in and out of rehab for years on end. i don’t live with him anymore, and haven’t for years, but since then he has been in and out of my life where i live now for quite a while up until i turned 18. at a first glance, people might’ve thought i lived comfortably because my step-grandparents were as rich as god. this was not even remotely the case, and this is what gets rich kids ignored when they are being abused. just because they’ve never starved doesn’t mean that they aren’t being abused or traumatized. overall, deeply inaccurate, bordering on dangerous.
pluralkit and discord addiction: using a tool designed for systems and a chatting app aren’t really signs of faking. pluralkit isn’t for me, but i know people that use it plenty. i’d argue that a twitter addiction is probably more of a sign than discord and pluralkit, lol. inaccurate.
random splitting new and more alters every week: yeah, this is a sign of malingered/facitious DID. if you’re constantly splitting new alters all the time, that’s a sign you’re in serious distress, not a sign of something cool and good. splitting is not a good thing, it’s actually something DID treatment hopes on stopping, because splitting can and does cause a lot of dysfunction, due to new dissociative barriers, more amnesia, etc. if youre splitting because you watched a new piece of media, if you’re splitting every week, if youre only ever splitting fictives or whatever, consider that you may not have DID, or at the very least, may be confusing kin-related stuff for new alters that aren’t actually there. overall, accurate.
littles who know their sexual orientation: littles aren’t actual children, they are dissociated parts of a whole adult consciousness that identifies as a child due to trauma. they are not real-life children and expecting them to act as such makes you look stupid. besides, many real life children know that they’re interested in the same/opposite genders, or at the very least may know that they like the same/opposite gender more/find these people prettier, but may not understand that they’re straight/gay/bi/whatever until years down the line because they don’t know that it’s an option. overall, inaccurate.
OSDD-1b, so no amnesia, amazing communication between alters: where on earth did FDC get the idea that having OSDD-1b makes you have amazing communication between alters? amnesia is not the only thing that makes communicating with alters difficult, and i’d argue that having OSDD-1b may actually be harder than having DID in some ways *because* you don’t have inter-identity amnesia, which means that it may actually be harder to determine if/when you switch. i can’t speak for OSDD-1b systems, and this is only my interpretation, but jesus christ. overall, deeply inaccurate.
100+ alters “we’re polyfragmented”: having 100+ alters doesn’t make you polyfragmented, being polyfragmented is not “high alter count disorder”, and being polyfragmented is not a sign of faking. that said, many of the people who call themselves polyfragmented are not polyfragmented. if you think that polyfragmentation is just having 100+ parts or splitting a lot, you are horribly misinformed. it’s caused by extremely early-starting and long-lasting trauma and is associated with sadistic and severe forms of abuse. the trauma (which doesn’t have to necessarily be abuse, because people don’t generally beat infants), starts so early that you CAN’T have any coping mechanisms outside of dissociation, not even unhealthy ones, and the trauma can often times last long into teenage and adult years. so yeah, most 15 year olds that call themselves polyfragmented are definitely not polyfragmented. overall, somewhat inaccurate.
typing quirk: having typing quirks isn’t inherently a faker thing, as i can think of many reasons someone might just want to type a certain way. even me, now, typing in all lowercase, can be/is a typing quirk. but saying you can’t control it or “asking me to translate is ableist” is stupid. overall, somewhat inaccurate.
alter with japanese name: oh, sorry, i forgot japanese people with DID don’t exist? but i get what they mean, a non-japanese (often white) person with an alter that has a japanese name. no, not inherently a faker thing, but is a racist thing, lol. overall, inaccurate.
non-human alters: LOL? do you know what kinds of things can cause non-human alters? extreme dehumanization. being told that you aren’t human. shut up, FDC. deeply inaccurate.
LGBTQ+ (at least one trans): ......????????????????????????? this is just straight up homophobia/transphobia???????? not shocked because it’s from reddit, but goddamn. inaccurate.
“the body is a minor”: yeah, i will admit that i don’t think a lot of teenagers that claim to have DID actually have it. the younger they are, the less i believe they have done the reading to actually understand DID enough to properly self-diagnose. however, there are papers about children with DID, and what’s interesting is that it seems the earlier you catch it, the easier it is to treat. overall, mostly accurate.
TL;DR
there was a neutral with this bingo 1 time, and remove that question since i do not count syscourse questions for being too subjective.
this bingo was accurate 3 times, and mostly accurate 2 times, so this bingo is accurate 5 out of 23 times.
this bingo was inaccurate 6 times, somewhat inaccurate 5 times, mostly inaccurate 1 time, deeply inaccurate 5 times, and deeply inaccurate bordering on dangerous 1 time, so this bingo is inaccurate 18 out of 23 times.
in the end, this bingo is more inaccurate than it is accurate.
overall, i give this bingo a rating of 22%.

Tim has DID 2.0
This is a better version of this post
Before I start I want to say that I do not have DID!! However! I try to do my research and I do not want to promote stereotypes/misinformation about DID! But!! If I say something that’s otherwise wrong or offensive please please PLEASE tell me!!!! I will fix it!!!
There would be fictives because they’re incredibly valid but I don’t watch many things, so... I can’t do that. I’m so scared about posting this, the only reason it’s under a cut is because it’s long, tell me if I need to add any warnings or anything because I’m kind of blind to that sort of stuff, okay here it goes!
I don’t think they would have a system name because they don’t feel the need for one and they have awful communication (they only communicate through notebooks. Any progress they made was wiped out due to Marble Hornets happening), but it would be The Crescendo System if they did because music is important to them!
Timothy (Tim/(Patient)1621/MDCXXI):
The core and a host!
Is the same age as and looks like the body
Sad lumberjack aesthetic
Has DID (obviously), Schizophrenia, Insomnia, Depression, and PTSD
Used to have Trichotillomania as a kid but has since gotten over it, he still tugs at his hair a lot though
Majored in music in college! He likes string instruments the best!
Is the main alter who went through Marble Hornets
Is very good at hiding things
Panics at loud/unexpected noises
Forgets to take care of himself a lot (either that or he doesn’t care enough to)
Scared of the dark
Counting calms him down, he likes routine
Gay, in love with, and in a relationship with Brian!
Has a cat! Her name is Quark! She’s a brown Maine Coon!
Knows Latin due to learning it in Jemison Center (the mental hospital he was in as a kid)
He’s trying his best, but his best isn’t enough apparently :(
Arcane (Ark/Masky/MDCXXI):
Used to be a host, but isn’t anymore due to being negatively affected by The Operator
Has always been a protector, but now goes to the extreme and attacks anyone he sees as a threat (which is almost everyone)
Static eyes!!
Likes his face to be covered, hence the mask and Tim covering his face whenever he gets nervous/scared
The tan jacket is a comfort object for him
Also went through Marble Hornets. Even though he wasn’t fronting for the majority of it, he was affected the most by it (which is why he doesn’t speak much anymore and is so violent, hence being repressed now and force fronting a lot)
Gives off a very angry, feral forest cryptid/animal energy
Used to be a couple years older than Tim, but now doesn’t seem to have an age (ageless)
Oliver (Oli/Ollie/Olly):
A little (around 7) and a memory holder!
Is the only alter that remembers positive things Janet Wright (their mom) did
His favorite colors are green and orange, but he will throw up if you give him an actual orange (the fruit). He’s not allergic, the smell is just… bad
His actual favorite fruit is strawberries!
Very extroverted! Loves meeting new people! Incredibly optimistic and only sees the good in people!
Tries his best to be nice and please people, but this leads to him getting frustrated a lot whenever people don’t get what he’s doing
Hoards stuffed animals!
Scribbles on the walls a lot
Overalls and sweaters are comfy!! He also has glasses
Scared of thunderstorms (not just because of the loud thunder, but because of the lightning too)
Also scared of the dark
Hush:
A teenager, probably around 13
Another protector
His name is incredibly ironic because all he does is yell at and fight back against authority (unless he’s brooding because silence is nice sometimes but the world is still awful)
Can and will throw down and stab you if you yell at him
Would rather die than take their prescription medication
Lowkey an alcoholic and smokes because Tim does (bad influence!)
Very sneaky! He’s able to steal things incredibly easily and never gets caught!
Likes fire a little too much
Likes to climb and carve things into trees
Knows Latin like Tim does!
Likes to write down everything in journals he hides in the ceiling
Has a passion for music/instruments like Tim does
Is able to survive alone in the middle of the woods (and has before)
Would probably own a black leather jacket and chains if they weren’t poor
Went dormant after they got into college, but came back after Marble Hornets (once they were in the mansion). Knows absolutely nothing about what happened during that time
K.M.:
A persecutor, and possibly an introject of their abuser (Lee)
Doesn’t care enough to give his age, but is an adult
If it wasn’t Tim or generally being reckless, it was him who caused a scar
100% an alcoholic, and it’s incredibly bad due to the fact that they shouldn’t drink because they’re on a bunch of prescription medication
Will flirt with anyone (hypersexual)
Reckless, chaotic, self-destructive. That’s… about it
Samantha:
Cis girl (she/her) and a caretaker!
Same age as Tim, probably
Very motherly to other people
Has wavy, long, brown hair
She likes to play the piano and likes photography!
Exudes a very calming/soothing aura
Her favorite season is fall because of the pretty leaves and the steady rainfall and how it slowly starts to get dark out earlier
Loves Tim’s cat!
Favorite colors are pink and light blue
Has an interest in witchcraft/the Wiccan religion
When their nails are painted (besides black), it’s a clear sign she fronted
Likes to be outside and get flowers for indoors!
Tries to organize their living space when she fronts, and also tries to help with anything they need to do (take medication, take a shower, eat, clean or bandage any wounds)
Did front during Marble Hornets a bit. Mainly in the hotels whenever things were especially rough. She tried to make things a little bit better, even if she didn’t actually know who the man in the room with her (Jay) was
Latet:
Agender (they/them), ageless, no one knew they existed until now
Their name means “lurks” in Latin
They found out Latet existed due to camera footage in the mansion (they stared into the camera for hours with emotionless eyes, not speaking and writing down codes, before turning it off)
Likes their face to be covered with masks. Preferably black ones, but occasionally steals Ark’s and Ann’s
Unknown if they are mute, or just don’t choose to speak/hasn’t spoken yet
Unknown if they are the one who appeared in the ToTheArk footage instead of it being Ark
Eli (Bug):
Another little! Around 8 or 9!
Likes to be called Bug as well as his real name Eli because he likes the outdoors and mud and trees and gross insects
Will be found more outdoors than in
Has definitely tried to eat things he’s not supposed to (dead animals or just… things that are inedible like crayons)
Likes to be around people too, but less so than Oli
Rain boots, maybe a raincoat, and… probably overalls like Eli too, honestly, just a lot dirtier
Likes to learn about animals!! The more slimy and dangerous the better!! Weird, freaky, smelly plants are ok too!
Does not listen when people tell him to do things, and will throw a fit if he’s not allowed to do something he wants to do
 Emily (Em):
Demigirl/nonbinary (she/they), a teenager (around 16)
Punk/scene, probably wears a jean jacket and definitely has a neon green pixie cut
Lots of bracelets!! Maybe Kandi ones?
Rebellious/doesn’t care, yet at the same time is productive?
More accurate description: is productive when she wants to be
Because she does want to help! I swear! But other times it’s just… too much work. No. She’s not doing that.
Follows her own agenda, which is either apathy or slightly chaotic, but hey, she’s more productive than almost everyone else, give her credit where credit is due
Also kind of likes to play with fire
Black nail polish is a clear sign she fronted

like I really really dont like that a lot of people treat fictional introjects as an opportunity to like, roleplay with their favorite characters. like a lot of the discussion on them is weirdly fetishy & totally discards the rest of their systems (& systems that dont have fictional introjects) in favor of being able to talk to My Favorite Anime Character
& it also feels like a symptom of the much larger problem in regards to the way social media handles systems (& mental health in general) where the only aspects of a disorder that get engagement (& thus the only discussions that get amplified) are the flashiest and most exciting parts. like Strangers online dont really care if you like, can't remember your childhood or havr panic attacks. like someone's not going to watch a 20 minute long youtube video about CDDs if the person in it is just going to talk about flashbacks and sleep disorders. People want to see dramatic switches on camera. they don't want to listen to someone with covert DID, they want to see someone whose alters have very different presentations and accents and ways of speaking and so on. Which creates a cascade of misinformation where, as a result, people whose only conception of disorders come from social media gets increasingly single-minded.
& it's weird because for a long time, i recognized that something was up with me. i knew that sometimes, i acted crazy, and i did things i didn't understand or couldn't remember after, and i had no idea why any of it was happening. and being on ye olde days of 2015 mental illness tumblr, there was of course the informative "here are signs you have DID" posts. and they would list symptoms that i had, and i'd be like... Oh. yeah This sounds like me.
except then there was like, this assumption that in order to participate or be valid, id have to make a system page so people knew i was part of the in group. and of course, everyone else was signing off their posts, so there was this unstated expectation that i had to do that, too, or else i wouldn't belong. and of course, different parts have to talk and act noticably different from each other, or else what's the point. and on discord, there was the continued expectation that, if you were a system, the polite thing to do is use pluralkit, because don't people deserve to know who theyre talking to? and so on.
it's weird to think about because a lot of these rules and expectations werent usually directly stated by people. but instead there was a mythology of two distinct groups with no overlapping experiences - singlets and systems - and in order to be part of the latter, you had to make all of this information very public or else you would be lumped in with "the singlets", like, suddenly your opinion on anything didnt matter because you were just assumed to be part of the out group. and if you did say "im a system" without that information already being public, then it was treated like it was probably something you made up right then and there, because you couldn't prove otherwise.
& what's weirder is that when these rules *were* directly stated, it was always with this implication that like, you were crossing some kind of boundary if you *didn't*. like i remember there being discussion on how like, not using pluralkit is suspicious people because what if you're talking to someone who doesn't know they're talking to a system little/persecutor/sexual part/whatever, isn't it crossing the other person's boundaries? and now that im not an insecure + heavily dissociated teenager, i look back on a lot of it and it's just like.... WHAT??????? HUH???????
anyways, for a while, i tried to make sure all my parts had names. and id make my system page, and id sign off my posts, and id use pluralkit. & looking back i wish there was a lot more discussion on how like... it's okay to not do any of that. Like it's actually perfectly fine for you to not make all of this information easily available if you don't want to. nobody is entitled to knowing which alter is fronting at all times. Like i wish any of that had been brought up.
i havent ventured much into system spaces online in the past few years, but it seems somewhat? better now than it was back then. i remember seeing peoples' system lists back in ye olde days where they would include each alter's individual triggers along with their names & pronouns and looking back it's like... oh my GOD that's not safe. People would casually drop "here are the external triggers people can use to make this alter switch in" in their system lists. People who were like, 15 were naming specific details about what trauma created each alter in order to be seen as Valid. like.... Holy shit. anyways I havent seen any of this in a few years so i'm taking that as a good sign?
as per usual this post went off the rails. not sure what the point of any of it was. I hope tiktok isn't as bad as 2015 system tumblr was though
anyways My tl;dr is You can keep things private if you want & systems can look many ways & we should talk more about diversity in systems.
the way Social Media in general handles the topic of fictives is concerning to me TBH

Its kind of a lot to explain, cut for long windedness
I don't mean to say it's something plural for singlets. I'm as likely to say that introjecting is kinning but plural exclusive as I am to say that kinning is introjecting but singlet inclusive, it just happened that the latter was the more relevant comparison in the moment.
I mean, really, that neither singlets nor plurals own the concept and it's something that brains Just Do Sometimes. Sometimes you're the only guy in your brain and you're a cat. Sometimes you're one of many guys in your brain and you're a cat and no one else is. Sometimes there's a bunch of guys and they're all cats. I don't see the being-a-catness (or any other kin identity) to be fundamentally different depending on if there's one or many guys. We have different communities (plural, otherkin, therian) built around the concept but at its core it is the same phenomenon at play, and that's why they all fall under the alterhuman umbrella. (Nuance of there are of course differences and different focuses in the communities but they all have the concept in common)
I guess the closest you can get is that when people speak of plural introjection, it tends to happen off camera, away from the front. They come to you fully formed, fictotype already chosen. But this isn't always the case. For us and for a lot of systems, they were still there before they ate the character. They were a loose bundle of brainstuff that *was certainly an alter* but had trouble speaking before they had a face, something to eat and be an introject of. Sometimes we are aware enough of them before they have a face that we can see and feel the introjection process happen in front of your eyes. It's the same feeling as what happens if they get a kintype after their first established fictotype. A new 'type can be just as strong as an initial 'type and can permashift an alter in headspace. My system uses "fictotype" and "kintype" interchangeably for ourselves this reason. I don't see the first introjection/kinning as any different from later instances of introjection/kinning. Either of them can happen on or off camera. And really you don't even know if their current fictotype is their initial one or if it's their fifteenth and they cycle through them whenever they have to split from trauma (calling out my sysmate)
Which, rolling back around, is why I think you can treat kintypes how people treat fictotypes and there's too much emphasis on "proving" in the kin community and it can kill enjoyment and make people worry about if they're valid to identify the way they want to. I think trying to prove a kintype is a form of grilling but I think maybe we have a different understanding of the term. I mean trying to prove that you are your kin before allowing yourself to identify as it.
We subconsciously start trying to figure out why an alter showed up as their 'type and match trauma to exotrauma to prove to ourselves that it's valid for them to kin that character and they always fucking hate it but it's hard to stop idle thoughts and even though we know we don't need to prove it, on some level we still kinda feel like we do need to. It's bad for a lot of people. It's enjoyable to dig into that sort of thing on your own terms, but when it's to prove one's validity to identify how they already identify is at stake, it sucks. And usually makes the alter it's happening to go "fuck this im leaving if you cannot the fuck stop" if it's done in a way of trying to prove validity rather than discovery.
My head is starting to hurt again so basically i think fictive communities don't have so much emphasis on proving 'type because you cant even poke at ppl like that if they're too dissociated from the front so you just gotta trust that guy knows what he's doing. Though a lot of times you'll see systems treat ppl bad bc they dont like the new guy's fictotype or try to deny that someone exists bc they dont like the fictotype. Definitely not a community without issues i just think there's less emphasis on proving fictive type because a lot of times you just cant and kin communities have more emphasis on proving bc usually the person with the kintype is a singlet or at front enough to think about it a lot and it makes people sad to feel like they have to prove things like that when they clearly just wanna enjoy their identity but dont feel valid to :( i think community puts too much pressure on it like i know i dont have to and i know i dont want to but still i feel pressure tk validate ppls kintypes :( personal issue? Yeah but a lotta people have it too and i think the culture encourages it. Not everyone is encouraging it and i see posts about not doing that idk how to couch this shit anymore
Sorry i melted im having relaly terrible insomnia rn hopefully my brain is stopping wprking is a sifn that ill actually be able to sleep now
the fictive community benefits so much from being literally unable in many cases to do the whole "kinfirming" thing, trying to find evidence of kin/fictotypes, must have xyz memories or shifts or what have you. most of the time fictives just materialize from the shadows and are like hi im shadowheart or angel dust or lucifer or valentino or whatever. On what evidence? Look at me, bitch.
And kinning is basically introjecting except singlets can do it and typically you are aware of your existence before you realize you're kin. So it should be like.. if you feel like you are the guy, if you think of yourself as the guy, then you're the guy. Memories and shifts are common but not required. I really think the kin community should do it more like the plural community, because I see a lot of people agonizing for a while over something that typically takes my system a single vibe check to figure out
