i've been watching the 60s addams show and i may have possibly went down another rabbit hole. just because the musing for wednesday hid from my sight (and i intend on finding it).

anywho, we all know that the addamses are of mexican descent. though it did made me wonder why in the animated movie from 2019 had sabre mazurka as a rite of passage. for those of you curious, mazurka is a dance of polish origin. moreover, in one of the screencaps with wednesday's writing on the 2022 show, we see another polish mention polish kielbasas, which is basically just a sausage.

bottom line is, maybe they are mexican (of spanish descent) and polish. but then i started googling more information and not only is one of the addamses apparently responsible for the destroying of alexandria's library (which also mentions a muslim name, said ancestor being mamoud khali pasha addams, which gramatically would be mahmud khalid ; pasha was a turkish term to describe the ottoman occupation of the balkan area, while addams serves just as a proof that he belonged to the addams family tree which we all know).

of course it looked familiar because i've seen it in the 2022 netflix series. the puritan statue is joseph crackstone. okay so that means goody addams was one of the witches that somehow got away. but wait, if the witch trials happened in salem, then why are we here in jericho? also, fun fact, if this batshit crazy theory is correct, then the addams family universe and the fear street universe fall into the same universe actually. sarah (not friar, but good) was one of the first three women accused of witchcraft. who was the puritan that conducted these trials? you guessed it, samuel parris. so sarah and samuel exist. and so did goody addams. but who could she be?

so i am now looking at the victims of the salem witches trials. well, what if she is actually goody? well, sort of. according to my very poor research, sarah good had two daughters : dorcas (wrongly known as dorothy) and mercy (who unfortunately did not make it). according to this site "Four-year-old accused witch Dorcas Good went insane after spending months in prison and watching her baby sister die while in jail with their mother, who was later hanged."

that being said, it could be goody addams is actually dorcas good. if she did went insane after what she'd gone through and like morticia said goody was a witch of great strength but her vengeance pushed her too far and even she couldn't save herself.

IMPORTANT NOTES   ️️️️️️️️️️️️️ ️️️️️️️️️️️️️ ️️️️️️️️️️️️️ ️️️️️️️️️️️️️ ️️️️️️️️️️️️️her maiden name was dorcas goode. when she settled down with lorenzo, she began being called goody, which wasn't far from her maiden name.   ️️️️️️️️️️️️️ ️️️️️️️️️️️️️ ️️️️️️️️️️️️️ ️️️️️️️️️️️️️ ️️️️️️️️️️️️️up until her curse, no one in their family tree had been cursed. however, once she cast it, all her descendants were cursed with super-human strength.   ️️️️️️️️️️️️️ ️️️️️️️️️️️️️ ️️️️️️️️️️️️️ ️️️️️️️️️️️️️ ️️️️️️️️️️️️️wednesday is the first raven after dorcas in their bloodline. she is the only one that could break dorcas curse, which happens in the season 1 finale. however, there's a catch. when she heals wednesday, she actually possesses her. that is why wednesday doesn't seem affected when she's shot with an arrow. the super-human strength is doubled as long as dorcas inhabits her body. and she does eliminate crackstone for good. at least for the time being.   ️️️️️️️️️️️️️ ️️️️️️️️️️️️️ ️️️️️️️️️️️️️ ️️️️️️️️️️️️️ ️️️️️️️️️️️️️dorcas does not look like wednesday. she uses manipulation in order to gain wednesday's trust, knowing she might let her guard down if she sees someone resembling her going through hell and back. everything that is seen through visions is manipulations mastered by none other than dorcas. my go-to faceclaim is elle fanning as of right now, though it might change!

There's a Wednesday scene in episode four and a couple of scenes in episode eight that I feel are very connected to each other and show the evolution of the Wenclair friendship.

In the RavEN dress shopping trip scene, where Enid wanted to go shopping with Wednesday and Wednesday responds very much to her style

Wednesday calls Enid a gazelle and Wednesday is a wounded deer and she asks Enid to leave her and run with the pack.

Enid did it.

Except that four episodes later things change when Wednesday is injured by Joseph Crackstone and is dying in the pilgrim's crypt. It is Enid who leaves the pack to go looking for her.

Here I do not count the Nightshades because Enid does not belong to them

The parallels are very curious in my opinion because Wednesday herself was describing what would happen to her in the final episode of the season, but the evolution of that friendship is very big and I loved seeing it.

Wednesday indeed was waiting to die alone 😥😢

Xavier: hey! I finally made it back. That trip was nasty. How horrible I return to Outreach Day. I got Pilgrim World. Anyone seen Wednesday?

Enid: she had already left when I woke up. Her cello was still in the room. So I guess she’s not playing with the Jericho Marching Band this year

Everyone laughed. They gathered and boarded the buses to take them to Jericho. They were instructed to sit in the bleachers.

Yoko: wait. Hold on? Is that Wednesday sitting on the stage with Mayor Santiago, Lucas and his mother?

Mayor Santiago: -stepping up to the podium with Nevermore Principal Thropp- Greetings Jericho residents and Nevermore students. Last year’s events were quite eye opening and tragic. We hope we can move on from last year and truly form a new understanding with our outcast neighbors and us ‘normies’. I know for some it will not be easy. We have a special speaker today. Wednesday: Greetings. My name for those of you who do not know, my name is Wednesday Addams. I am a direct descendant of Gudrun Addams also known as Goody. She was the one responsible for the death of Joseph Crackstone. The history you have been taught is that Crackstone founded this city. That is in fact a lie. He took this land from the indigenous peoples and the settlers who arrived before Joseph Crackstone and they integrated with the native tribes. When Crackstone and his group arrived he declared many of them witches and demons for their non Christian beliefs. I do not stand before you to erase your history. Only to help form a better understanding. Hatred does not belong in any society just because people are different. As you can see? The statue of Joseph Crackstone erected last year, and set ablaze by myself during last year’s ceremony is gone. It was proposed that a statue of my ancestor Goody be erected in its place. However I objected. So instead a white pine has been planted in it’s place. A white pine is a symbol of peace.
