Working on the extra bit for Sleeping Beauty's Dead and it can basically be summed up as:

Charles: I'm not really sexy so I'm going to be silly instead

Edwin: That is completely untrue but also why is this working for me???

There are several questions at hand:

1: Have Edwin and Charles ever seen the Pink Panther movies (or at least the first one, which I think is the best one)?

2: If they have, who showed it to them, and why was it Niko?

3: Who hums the theme song under their breath when they're sneaking around, and why is it Charles?

No thoughts just how much Charles loves Edwin whether or not it’s romantic (though it’s likely both) and how much he has dedicated his afterlife to him as his protector and the way he has pushed down his anger and hurt because Edwin just got out of hell and Charles knows he needs someone there for him just as Edwin was there for him in the attic so he protects him, always taking the hits, doing his best to keep him safe because taking hits is what he knows best and has cultivated his afterlife thriving off that notion; so the thought of Edwin finding out about his home life, the belief that if he finds out Charles couldn’t even protect himself against his own father’s anger that it will make him appear weak and unable to do what he’s supposed to be doing and perhaps he isn’t good enough to protect Edwin and what if his anger is just as volatile as his fathers and if he loves Edwin like he thinks he might maybe he’ll hurt him too because Rowland men show love through pain because his mom said that Charles’ father loved her and loved him but it didn’t feel like it but what is Rowland love without bruises and tears and he can’t do that to Edwin, he can’t so he pushes it down and down and down, hiding behind smiles and jokes and his cricket bat because as long as he protects Edwin he knows he’s good enough he knows he could be good; but when Edwin says he’s in love with him he thinks he can’t be, he can’t because Edwin deserves better but he can’t help but be a little giddy because he’s a teenager, an immortal ghost trapped in the body and mind of a 16-year-old so of course he’s happy but he’s also terrified because he can’t just jump into this, he can’t risk hurting Edwin because it will happen eventually he knows it so he pushes the feeling away for the time being, even if it may show up in bits without him realizing because of course he doesn’t because he has always loved Edwin he just didn’t realize it until Edwin put it into words and now he’s going to protect Edwin like he always had and he’s still slightly scared that he’ll fail eventually but for the time being he’s content not have to run away from death any longer and Edwin’s realization and smile at it is the best he’s ever seen. Or something like that.

Because the Sandman show has moved the timeline for Season of the mist, that’s not how Edwin and Charles met in their show. I think they’re gonna do the simplest solution to this and just cut the bits related to it and change what they need to.

Edwin’s still gonna die as a sacrifice but the wording of “dragged away by a demon” means they’ve changed it so the ritual the bullies do actually works. Then it says “before escaping” so if there’s no season of the mist yet to cause Hell to be emptied, I’m thinking since he was dragged to hell by a demon instead of being sent there for other reasons, he was able to find a way out. Which would also play into how they’re characterizing them in the show as “brains and brawn”.

Charles is still going to be attacked by bullies at the school, I don’t know if it’ll be the same bullies that killed Edwin and there ghosts are just haunting st. Hilarions or if he gets killed by a different batch of murderous school boys.

In the doom patrol version Charles dies of hypothermia after being forced into a lake by his peers. Maybe they’ll stick with that.

i want to care about the new arcs of fnaf so bad especially while being a vanessa stan but oh my goodness i cannot get into it and i want to say its because michael isn't there but honestly michael wasnt there before. but i hadn't had it broken down to me exactly HOW intertwined security breach was to the novels until very recently with the explanation of where glitchtrap came from and its sooooo ohhhh my goddddd oh my goddddddd (plugging my ears) LAAALALALALALLALA

I know that a lot of people are saying that the next Endless-meets-a-Dead-Boy-Detective moment should be between Desire and Charles because Repressed Bisexual Yearning, but consider:

Fiona and William both seemed to reign in their respective partner's engineer brains. Fiona encourages Edwin to try to focus on one project at a time, and seemed to handle the business side of things. We know William handled the business side of FazEnt and Henry had no business sense.

Course because it's the 70s, Fiona has to be the woman behind the scenes, while William gets to be the face of FazEnt.

“We both wanted love…”

These two duos are actually so much similar in their partnerships than I thought

- Edwin and William are very strict and controlling of their employees and leading to a horrible work environment

-Much like Henry, Fiona was not perfect either. She enabled Edwin’s delusions and his spiraling with his family. Just like how Henry allowed Willaim to handle their business with corrupted morals and hurting employees/family in the process

- Fiona gets the player Arnold to do her bidding and give Mimic’s happiest day vs Henry having Michael help him free the animatronics in pizza sim

-Edwin pulling a Henry silver eyes and having a robot wife to cope with her death

-and of course the purple and yellows symbolic in their partnerships

Welcome to the reverse verse! This is part 1 of 2 of a commission for @i-am-as-normal-as-you-are and I can't wait to tell you all about it, because I'm incapable of being normal and chill about these concepts, so I ran with it.

Charles Rowland was born in 1900, his mum was from India and moved to the UK after marrying Charles' dad, a soldier who was not... very loving. Charles' heritage gave him some problems, but none as bad as that one time in 1916 when he was sacrificed to a demon and spent the next 7 decades in Hell. He doesn't like to talk about it, except when it can get him what he wants. He was always an angry boy, or so he thought, but after his time spent in Hell, it became so much worse. He's explosive and unpredictable, and so he mostly avoids conflict. He doesn't need to fight anyone, as his charming personality and sweet smile (plus a few smart calculations) always seem to be enough to convince people to give him what he asks for. And when the fight is inevitable... well, he has Edwin for that!

Edwin Payne grew up very sheltered, in a deeply religious home, and he is proud of that. Don't try to argue with him, because he surely has a Bible verse that will help him win (and if not, he is not above using his croquet mallet now that he has someone to keep safe). Unfortunately for him, he realized at a quite young age that he felt attraction towards other boys. Even worse, somehow other people could tell as well, including those peers that ended up killing him for it (the rumour spread throughout school was that he had died due to AIDS, and most people just accepted it). He never acted on those unnatural urges of his, but when he met this ghost who had just escaped Hell... he decided not to risk eternal damnation, and to stay here with Charles, instead. Edwin has no interest in the supernatural or in magic, and sort of looks down on them, but luckily his friend's got that covered.

So, the boys' desk is weirdly wide?? and I just realized it's because it's a partners desk.

There are drawers facing us and also presumably where Edwin sits.

William Afton character rambling (SOTM spoilers ahead)

I see a lot of people complaining that Afton’s character has “changed” and that he’s “turned him from a villain with a backstory to a one dimensional villain who’s just evil to be evil.”

I hate to burst your bubble, but he’s always been that way. The point of William Afton as a character is that he’s a total loser who hides in a fucking rabbit suit. He’s not some overpowered supervillain, he’s a loser obsessed with becoming overpowered and knocking people off their pedestals so he can take it over.

Why do you think he targets children? They are smaller than him, easily manipulated. Adults are mostly killed by him in a secondhand way (possessed animatronics that he manipulated into doing his bidding), but he’s never the one doing that work.

Why do you think he sends Michael to the bunker? Because he doesn’t care if Michael dies. He knows the risks, but he views his own son as more of a tool.

The Silver Eyes straight up describes him as someone who spent a some of his life mistreated (whether that be he came from an abusive home, or something else), and rather than growing from that and being good — he “takes on the bitter mantle of sadism himself.” If you read between the lines of TSE trilogy, the journals are pointing out that he’s so obsessed with Henry’s abilities that it’s essentially just the incessant rambles of a madman. What does he do? He kills Charlie, which effectively drives Henry to kill himself. With Henry gone, William starts ripping his shit from him.

Sounds familiar? That’s literally what happens in SOTM. Edwin is just TSE Henry with a fake mustache slapped on him. William snatching shit and causing downfalls isn’t a new concept, it’s at the core of his character. He’s an evil man for the sake of self-serving to get what he wants. He doesn’t care about what he has to do, or who he has to knock out of his way, he only cares for himself. The people he surrounds himself are just stepping stools he uses to boost himself, and when he doesn’t need them, he rids of them (we see this in the movie with Vanessa. When she stands in the way of getting to Abby and Mike, he tries to kill her).

William is literally a grown up, bratty kid who throws tantrums when things don’t go their way.

He isn’t a villain born from tragedy, William Afton is a villain of his own making because he likes it that way. He gets joy out of destruction and taking things for himself.

And before anyone tries to bring up “but fnaf 4 is showing that his son died!!” I beg you to put yourself back in the fnaf 1-4 era where one of the biggest questions was “why the hell do nightguards keep coming back night after night?”

Because fnaf 4 wasn’t showing William’s motive, it was showing Michael’s motivation and why he goes through hell to try and undo everything. Michael made a mistake that he’s trying to redeem himself for. A child’s death wasn’t what marked the downfall of William Afton, William did it to himself by being a shady, selfish businessman.

imagine Edwin making and handing Charles an 'employee of the year' award, literally every year since the agency opened up

Charles either has a collection of them in his backpack (because he's treasuring each and every one of them!!) or he puts them up on one of their walls

One year he thinks he's got an upper hand on Edwin but nope! Edwin invites him to the rooftop on a random November morning and presents him with the award again, completed with a sappy speech and all, and the whole time Charles is like "dang it, mate, I wanted to give you the award this year!! (😭💖)"

Charles makes notes about Edwin's speeches each year because each year it's a completely new one of course, Edwin finds new things he loves about Charles like every week so it's pretty easy for him to write a different essay about it every year

One year Edwin decides to freshen up his ceremonial outfit after seeing a very fancy tux in a play so he dresses in it for the ceremony and Charles is like "woah gulp okay"

Alternatively, if Charles also makes his own award for Edwin every year as well - it'd be really cute if Charles's version included a hand-drawn little picture of Edwin, and you could see Charles's drawings slowly improving across the years

It'd start off mostly cute and funny but then somewhere along the way, as Charles gained more skills, you could actually see Charles's love grow as well, because Edwin from 2009 has sparkles in his eyes, 2014 looks relaxed and at home and 2018 has just the most radiant smile

After they get together 2024 Edwin has just the most whipped, downright moony expression and Edwin is like "Charles!! I can't possibly put it up on our wall for all to see!!"

Edwin draws Charles himself/gets someone else to draw him while he's looking at Edwin, and after seeing the end result Charles concedes "...okay I see your point now, we're a bit embarrassing, aren't we"

Also after they get together Edwin goes to kiss Charles at the end of the award ceremony but Charles leans back with a "woah woah woah mate, you're telling me you've been biased this whole time??" and is still smirking as Edwin kisses him
