Spotify keeps trying to recommend that I add Persephone inspired songs to my Niki playlist...
Which is very fun and interesting to think about.
#niki nihachu#nihachu#granted this could just be because I added Pomegranate Lips by Derivakat onto the playlist#But I think it's an interesting parallel#when you ask most people about Persephone the only myth they can tell you is about her kidnapping#that's the story#that's all they know#even modern “hashtag feminist” retellings of the story reduce her to just that#some even leaving her with less agency than the original myth did#She's not even considered as part of the major greek deities when people make lists#but she's part of more stories than that#she has more myths and legends#she has more relationships that she values other than her husband#its kinda interesting to think about how Niki is constantly reduced to just the men in her life#Oh it's c!Wilbur and Niki!#Oh it's Jack and Niki!#What about the storylines she did by herself?#yeah#no one cares#their favorite man isn't in it#and just like Persephone all her flaws and anger and rage are removed to make her soft and cute and innocent
