#basic rule of thumb is two year olds are expected to be able to use TWO words in a row.#some can do more. some can do less.#but please assume that if a child is under three they are not speaking thoughts more complex than 'I want that' or 'I am [sad/hungry/mad]'#Occassionally you'll hear a pretty complex thought like 'It's snowing outside!' but that's only certain kids #If they draw your attention to something it's usually just the word 'LOOK' and a bunch of pointing #If they're upset words go completely out the window and you'll just hear crying/screaming. possibly the word 'no' or 'Mama' or 'Daddy'#Kids tend to say 'mama' or 'daddy' even if those people aren't in the immediate area #Tho I have had the hilarious experience of hearing an angry kid loudly scream for his older sister #are there exceptions to the rule? yes of course #also: most kids understand social cues before they can actively participate in them #So for instance when I put on my coat they all start yelling 'Bye Maggie!' even if I am actively having a conversation #They also know that it's typical to greet someone when they come in the door but they don't know WHEN or HOW #which results in them just. Yelling your name at you when you come in the room. Sometimes they'll say 'MAGGIE HERE.'#When the phone rings they yell 'HELLO??' at it.

jakurai’s got a lot of holy imagery attached to him: angel wings, sins, salvation, etc

rei’s speaker has the ho-ou bird, a celestial figure in cn/jp mythology

tsuutenkaku means a building that leads to the heavens and is part of their lore

bat:

hitoya has warned jakurai against trying to act as a god (he’s learning to judge humans by their sins and not the human themself, as the catholic/christian god promised)

jyushi’s favourite band and heavy inspiration for his appearance is ‘dreams and gods are fake’ and quotes that phrase in song (but calls hitoya his god)

gods are not the highest veneration in buddhism; buddhas are human. kuukou’s main goal has been to live a life where he can proudly face the buddha (but has had a lot of buddha imagery placed on him: the black crown, sal trees etc)

Thoughts on Padmé x Anakin x Rex?

Padmé and Anakin are so mutually obssesed they would first have to check into that before trying to bring another person to their carefully-balanced-kind-of-damage or something it's going to explode.

Honestly it's a fun ship! But I don't have too many thoughts about them because when I consider them is usually in very low-stakes-fun-AU-scenarios.

And I'm actually a bit of a fan of Rexwalker myself! Athough I tend to like them more as very good buddies, the covering-for-you-dynamic it's so funny for them, lol It's also angsty and complicated because, y'know, the power-imbalance and unchecked trauma? Is funny that the clone that's actually a slave for the republic is the most normal if you bring him into the anidala romance circus.

Also shout out to @phoenixyfriend , she has a lot of rexanidala fics and recs for anyone interested reading this!

#I have rexwalker wips somewhere in my endless wips folder although im generally very lazy to draw or care about ships unless i REALLY dig it #which is why you see me mostly drawing anidala despite the fact I do actually have lots of ships i like/consider #anakin is such a strange character he's hard to ship around bc look at him his social circle consists of 4 ppl #and padme's impressive social circle are her coworkers and her decoys #which is impressive bc SW has SO MANY characters lol #also sorry i ramble a lot just to answer 'it's a fun one'#thanks for the ask!#rexanidala #anakin is also such an anxious and intense guy he would need a LOT of talking and reassurance and stuff #bc otherwise he would feel guilty as hell like the three of them could have agreed to it and he probably would feel like he's cheating LOL #the thing with rexanidala which is the most interesting to me to wonder about is how padmé got into rex #she's actually a very closed person and part of the reason she fell for anakin that hard was over mutual trauma bonding #so i wonder i wonderrrr #but also generally the thing with me is that i tend to lean more into non-romantic dynamics and platonic stuff believe it or not #so if you see me doing lots of art for a ship (like anidala) it must be bc i really love them both otherwise i'm more into family or #complicated relationships stuff probably because i'm aroace and a ship must have some incredible complex thing going on for me to care #with rexanidala the biggest brownie points it gets to me is all the AU possibilities the ANGSTY AU possibilities bc it would change A LOT

#em draws stuff #hornblower #william bush #horatio hornblower #first and foremost! sorry for melting bush's face off in this image #but for a bit more context this is because I had the idea that a hornblower story based in 'the steadfast tin soldier' would be interesting #so here we've got pewter-cast model bush and paper theatre guy hornblower (and things are not going well for them!)#this one was an interesting challenge since I wanted bush to look like the metal was sort of melting out from under his paint #and then hornblower's paper hasn't quite caught alight yet but is starting to char at the very edges of him and where he's touching bush #both of them are much more complex designs than I'd originally been planning for (bush has got ball-and-socket joints and all...)#(the original original plan was that I would learn pewter casting and make him Real. as you can see I did not do that.)#but hey I'm pleased with how they turned out in the end! this took me three sharpe episodes to draw :|#(eleven episodes in and I think it made me weird in the head so I think I will slow down for the time being! too much riflery!)#aaaaaanyway. I don't know if I'll ever write anything about this idea so I'm releasing it into the wild if anyone else likes it #part of this was. an excuse to put some sequins on hornblower yes. fellow should sparkle a little more often!

The Dandy with his Hand on his chest

I wanted to do a big piece before the month ended and I had been thinking on drawing a study of "The Nobleman with his Hand on his Chest" by El Greco with Slayer for a good while, because I adore that painting and believe it fits him, since it has a mysterious yet noble aura to me. Very dandy!

I love Slayer's Rev2 Color 4, so I got really happy when it returned as Color 10 in Strive, now with a very stylish nail polish, too.

It impacted me a lot #for a painting.. nowadays I feel it's awesome but again I still find it to have a bit of a mysterious aura. I hope this doesn't come off as #me going “I don't get this artwork so oooh it's scary!” but me thinking it has an aura that captivates your imagination #that being said I DID want MY version to be a bit unnerving or spooky because. color 10 slayer come on! I hope it worked #tried to do proper more complex lighting this time. I learnt a lot.. I def made the face's more dramatic but couldn't get the rest to look #the same plus I kinda like the face's contrasting with the rest of the lighting. also I do enjoy the end result of the body lighting #slayer's face is so tough.. that alone took me three days #idk what was going on w the background. it's a bit similar to my hos/ab.a pic's but fair enough #one day I'll learn to make complex detailed backgrounds. not today. it kind of came out like sm64d.s character portraits which could be a #bit unsettling for young me so it just works #sorry I enjoyed drawing this a lot so I have a lot of thoughts about it. thank you if you read. hope you enjoy the drawing :)#eye contact

opening my chorus pages one after another while I go through my to do list trying to allocate the right amount of time spent on each part and honest to god. each page I open up is a fucking one-hit KO.

#just thinking thoughts...#I was like okay. so I need to do 5 pages in 10 days. so what.#2 days per page easy #and I do that and I'm even looking at the 3rd page like ahhh this is a relaxing pace #BOOM. 4th page has 2 complex backgrounds #I start laughing sardonically and reallocate it so I spend 1 day on the easy page and 3 days on the hard page #and I open up my 5th page. everybody guess how many backgrounds I have to draw for that.#That's right. good job. it's THREE.
