Once Upon a Time: Hyperion Heights (7x01)
I'm seriously curious about why ABC decided to renew this show, honestly. I feel like there's no reason for it. That being said, I did not hate this premiere. In particular, I liked Henry Mills.
Cons:
The same hokey dialogue that has always plagued Once Upon a Time has come back in full force here. Lots of repetition about "telling your own story" and "changing your story" and whatnot. I can imagine getting really sick of that really soon. And Regina, known as Roni, has this big long speech to the villain at the end where she talks about endurance and hope and whatnot. It was hokey as hell and it was hilarious to think about the evil stepmother just sitting there letting her finish her speech.
Apparently, we are doing the same thing here that we did with Emma, where Henry doesn't remember his real family and has forgotten because of the curse. The only real difference is that he does sort of remember, but he just thinks it's a story he wrote, and not real. I'm not going to say this is the worst idea ever, but I really did hope that we'd try something different this season. I can only hope that it won't be protracted for the whole season. If we can have Henry remember after a few episodes and then move on to other things, I'd be okay with it.
This is a small thing but "the troll under the Aurora Bridge" is called the Fremont Troll, and literally anybody from the Seattle area would know that. It just made me snicker, as somebody from the area. On the flip side, at least this show feels like it could actually be taking place in Seattle, unlike Grey's Anatomy, which just uses occasional stock footage of the Space Needle and calls it a day.
Pros:
To start with, I think I like the idea of a gentrification plot in Hyperion Heights. While Storybrooke was comically idyllic, Hyperion Heights is run down and poor, and is being gentrified by Cinderella's evil stepmother. I'm a little bit iffy about the fact that most of the characters still seem to be white in this run-down Seattle neighborhood that's being bought out by a rich woman. But I still think I like the idea of this town feeling like more of a real place, whereas Storybrooke was its own little pocket of unreality.
Henry is great. Andrew J. West is doing a great job of being recognizably the same character as young Henry, especially in the fairytale flashbacks. He's still that helpful, big-hearted guy who always believes. And then in the Seattle story, he's a little jaded, but still undeniably kind and gentle. Also, his chemistry with Cinderella, also known in Hyperion Heights as Jacinda, is great.
Jacinda is an extremely likable character right from the start. Much like how we had a bad-ass version of Snow White when this show started, now we're getting the cut-throat Cinderella, who goes to the ball not to dance with the prince, but to kill him out of revenge for the death of her father. She punches Henry in the face and steals his motorcycle, and just generally does her own thing. I can already tell I'm going to like her. And Lucy is just adorable. Maybe a little too sweet and perfect, but that's sort of the role she needs to fill. Adult Henry is less jaded and angry than Emma was, so I can see Henry and Lucy getting to a good place even faster than Emma and Henry did. I can't wait to see this cute little family find each other again. I actually feel invested.
The flash-back story so far just introduces a few elements that I'm sure we'll continue to explore in the coming weeks. We see Henry and Cinderella meet and start their little relationship, and we also meet some other key figures: Tremaine (aka the evil stepmother) and Drizella, the evil stepsister. We also meet Alice, who does not take kindly to being associated only with Wonderland. I like what little I've seen of these characters so far. Alice is especially fun. I like the idea of a spunky, angry Alice who is trying to create a name for herself outside of that one weird trip she took. That's kind of a fun idea.
In the present-day storyline, we see that Regina, known as Roni, owns a bar that's about to be purchased by Victoria Belfrey (aka Tremaine). She's a nice person who cares about her community and hates to see it crumbling around her. We haven't gotten a lot of material with her yet, but I'm interested in the idea that there are key things connecting each of these people to their old lives. Regina created the curse to torture people, but in the end she also wanted order and structure to her world. Here, she isn't evil anymore, but she still has the desire to salvage her community and keep everybody where they're supposed to be. Even though it was kind of silly, I really liked the moment when Henry comes in to the bar, and to describe the weird day he's having, asks Roni to "imagine what it would be like if I came in here and told you I was your son." Ha!
Meanwhile, Hook is a police officer known as Rogers. He actually wants to help people and has a reputation among the other officers for being too much of a do-gooder. Again, we're seeing hints of Hook's behavior - his inherent goodness - but his personality has been stripped from him. It seems like Hook, who I'm going to have a hard time calling Rogers, might be the first weak link in Victoria's evil plan. Hook gets his hands on Henry's first and only published novel, which is the story of Henry's life (that he believes to be fictional). While flipping through it, he comes across a picture of Emma and is entranced. Obviously I eat this stuff up. I'm glad to see from this premiere an indication that Emma will still be a big part of Hook's story. It would be such a slap in the face to the history of this show if Hook was spun off into a different story and his happy ending with Emma were erased.
Oh, also - Rumple is Hook's new detective partner. Of course, I immediately start asking questions like - does Rumple know? He always seems to know, but does he know? And what the heck is Hook going to do when he remembers his old life and realizes he's partnered up with the Crocodile? I know they didn't end things wanting to murder each other anymore, but I doubt they will ever be the best of friends either. This might be the plot development I'm the most excited to see.
And that's where I'll wrap it up for now. This premiere showed promise, but I'm not jumping up and down for joy or anything. Let's put it this way: if this were a brand new show and I'd seen this premiere, I probably wouldn't care enough to tune in the following week. It's only brand loyalty that's keeping me around, and I'm not sure how far that's going to take ABC with most of its viewers.

Story Prompts(?) i’ve kept in my mind
1. First of all. Yes, shtty grammar, so messy, i know.
(Adventure Time Fanfic) Flame crown of the fire kingdom actually holds a very evil curse, slowly corrupts the user’s mind. This curse is placed to the crown to ensure fire kingdom’s growth by making the current ruler go evil and invade any land they can get. after the king got kicked out of the throne, it’s flame princess’ turn to rule the kingdom. Little did she knew if the crown is pure or not. At a random turn of events, FP suddenly decided to Invade Ooo, with a simple reason “this kingdom is still too small”. It’s up to the Ooo’s resident to stop this, and especially Finn to turn her back to normal. [ I thought this story when i was still 7th grade in Junior High School, when Finn x FP is still canon in the show]
2. ((another) Adventure Time Fanfic) After the previous incident (Fire Kingdom’s Invasion), Finn and FP’s feeling towards each other grows stronger. Years after years (of Finn’s struggle to find a way to touch FP normally(fire shield ofc) and FP’s constant explosion because of her unstable emotion, they got through it though), they decided to get married. Of course it ended up with a massive explosion over and over. You can’t count Finn’s burn marks all over his body. The proof of his love (cheezy, i know). Years again (finding a way to crossbreed against a human with a frickin fire elemental). They got a kid, twins in fact. They decided to name them Flynn(male) and Finnie(Female). Flynn is more like his father, more humanlike. And Finnie is more like her mother, a powerful elemental able to burn the earth down. Ooo’s in peace, with a few burn spots here and there. Until suddenly The Lich got his mind back at prismo’s place, successfully escapes through time and space to finn’s universe, and suddenly appears at the very center of Candy Kingdom. It’s up to Ooo’s full force and of course Finn’s family to defeat this menace of a king. [ i wrote this story after the continuation of the story above. Again, 7th grade, when a LOT of stuffs is still unexplained, such as Lich’s awakement(?)
Below is my stories and whatnot...
3. Original concept..... i guess.....(?)
In a busy day like the usual, an apostle came directly to the skies, grabbing attentions through the earth. They(gender neutral) suddenly announces they(the gods) decided it is finally time to end this nonsense(the world) once and for all. Which of course, people would panic, even sent many armies trying to “neutralize” this “entity”. Feeling enraged, he pushed a humongous Shockwave across the skies, giving a huge blow to the earth’s surface, resulting in various damages and “natural” disasters. After the world filled with only shouts of people below, the apostle thinks it again. And thought it would be amusing for the last entertainment. They sent down a male human baby, parentless. and announces that “This will be your last countdown to the brink of judgement, i will come back if this child dies by your hands truly” and finally disappears into thin air. Little did people know that the child have an very odd birthmark, much like a symbol. The child exactly arrives at a certain location. So this is where the story branches of how i would like the story goes exactly :
a. Where the child is actually sent down to a remote village, and they secretly raise him until he’s old enough to talk, walk, and socialize. He realizes the he was reclused by the other kids, like “the cursed child that will brink sorrow and end to our village.” but he digress and tries to shrug it off (even though he secretly cries). years later he is old enough to take care of himself. and being reclused, he is only interested with his own world. He’s curious of the outside world. Stuffs happened(my excuse to be lazy), he successfully got out of the village, either by ran away from home or having permission to the elders of the village. Little did he know that the outside people, still searches(?) him, trying to find “the last human” all over the world. Especially an organization called ‘SCRUNIZATION’, tries to locate him all over the world and planned to contain him to a longer life span. When he got to the city a bit far from the village, everything was grim. SO many people are depressed. It’s like the city is near from death. Of course seeing this would sadden the sad boy, even his remote village is more happy and peaceful than...that.
So this route of story mainly focuses on him discovering many happiness in a bulk of negative things around the world, while slowly the Org. locates him (His birthmark is very similar with the Apostle’s appearance(i can’t say what it looked like). The climax is basically him being chased by people from all over the world, with his head full of many bounties ‘alive only’. Much like Ragna The Bloodedge from Blazblue series. And maybe just the trash i am, slip some romance in there *incoherent laughs
and the B route which is
the child is already sent down in a packed city, so many people could witness it. The government of said city, progressively plans about this child’s factor from many stuffs. Such as average human life spans, his immunity to some diseases(which is very high ; he rarely, very rarely gets sick), to his mental and stuffs. They planned which family, or at least “person” would be given a task this big, to adopt a parentless child, coming down from the sky, as the timebomb of their end. And honestly it wasn’t easy to do this, because many, and i mean MANY people already gave up hopes to live and stuffs, giving a hard way to keep the city moving. But an organization was made solely to raise this baby, called ‘SCRUNIZATION’ (from the word ‘scrutiny’ and ‘organization’, i know, so creative) decided to raise him instead. So, it was the start of this child’s isolation to socialization. Stuffs happened(again, my way of saying “i’m lazy to properly explain this part), he could talk, walk, and socialize(again).
Around the age of 5 years old, he noticed the absence of his ‘parents’, when he asks the scientist around his chamber, they would just sweat and gives off a panicked face and tried to ignore him, or kindly told him off.
Around the age of 7 years old, he noticed the absence of people, other than the scientist that come and go from his chamber. He felt lonely and such. And of course the scientist noticed this.
[at this point my motivation to type is gone, so it’s just a blabbering of a simplified version of the story]
he became depressed and lonely overtima
new smart young girl came in to help observe him
he noticed the new girl, intrigued
given a task to socialize with him daily
being a genius, she’s an introvert don’t know much about socializing
tried so hard to talk to him
he was not interested (or at least, tried not to, he likes teasing her, her expression is funny he thought to himself)
she failed. Hard
he was more and more interested in the oppsite sex, especially this new lady
she was embarassed(?) to talk to him more
he thought it was enough
they warmed up to each other
have fun at each other
the boy grew feelings on her (being a trash i am to always throw in a pinch of romance)
oblivious woman is oblivious
tried so hard to seduse(more like being red-faced because being with her destroys his piece of mind)
failed terribly
the scientist realized his mood improved
the girl got different task in different sector
yadda-yadda sad yadda-yadda seperation
boy got sad
boy ask scientist. feigning ignorance
he mad, yes HE MAD
tempts to kill himself just to threaten the scientist to meet him with the girl, but still can’t
he got moved to that one chamber, filled with just sponge, and he wears that insane-people clothes
the scientist forgot one thing, his mental condition deteriorated if this goes on.
the apostle, seeing this, still amused
frees the boy
teleports the boy to nowhere, literally
and lets him decide if it’s better to kill himself away, or live a little bit longer.
after this, it was just a mental and physical struggle of him trying to live, and find the love of his life (*laughs)
[i wrote this when i was around 9th grade. It got nothing to do with religion and such.
The idea of ‘the last person on earth’ intrigued me a lot when i was that age.
and all i can do to deliver the story is through this mysterious apostle that i created. Seriously, they’re like my lazy explanation of all things inhumane and supernatural in an almost non-fiction story. Much like Ogre(?) from the mad father game (that popular rpg maker game)].

Fucking Hell, that Eddie aesthetic edit has been sticking in my head during the whole day, just, damn you too Cy, you got some effective effects in your sleeves there. But I remembered I haven’t made much details about him at all, even though he’s suppose to be that one character who anyone can come up with ideas and theories of who he truly is, only to find what parts out of him whenever I write him, but it wouldn’t hurt to write general information ( part one out of possibly two ) of who he really is and do character analysis of him, with some personal notes from me at the start.
Also Caleb is featured to this because he plays an important part to Eddie, and I’m making few tiny theories and ideas of him for myself because I honesty have no idea what Eddie really is as he’s a pretty… different character unlike my other characters, except somewhat Caleb… says the creator of Eddie, but it’s hard to explain, okay??
Warning for suicide and cannibalism mentions — honestly, he is such a disgusting and disturbing character to ever exist and I have ever created, I would be quite surprised if anyone would be okay after reading the details of him.
Eddie was formerly known as my own version of Darkiplier I made on February 24th, 2015, until I decided to make him as my own OC, changing his name from Dark to Eidottnawi ( pronounced as “eye-dot-naw-wee” ), Eddie for short, despite how his appearance is still basically an evil version of Mark Fischbach. I was still extremely new to writing, the whole character development concepts, how stereotypical character types is a thing, and whatnot, when, I believed, I started getting into writing on May 25th, 2013, which was on my birthday, so my Dark was quite a cringy and stereotypical villainous character ( I can’t even describe him without rolling my eyes at myself and constantly thought, “Brenda, what the fuck is this” ), but I never really gave him a background but how he’s an alter ego to this character of mine who’s inspired off of Mark with the same full name, which I gave no connections or anything as to how my Mark responded with Dark and does him having Dark as a long-term part of his life have affected him personally; it really said that I didn’t take my characters and their developments very seriously back then compare until the near ending of 2015.
I don’t remember when exactly, but I lost my interesting writing with my Mark on March and I didn’t bother bringing him back as I killed him off permanently, and drop Dark too, until I created Caleb in his previous incarnation on November last year, and when his previous self died, I brought him as the new Caleb back at the beginning of 2016 and that’s when I decided to shove my Mark to Caleb as his few previous incarnations as well. Because of that, Caleb would have his life affected by Dark at some point, and on April, I brought Dark back, but this time, I made sure to make him more developed and 3D shaped character. I didn’t exactly write him, but I did use them for Caleb’s personal struggles and obstacles for a long-term plot from April to November last year, which was a very long time, but worth to get a better idea of how would my own Darkiplier behave and think with his morals, and motivations, and just get used to him as a villainous character, considering I rarely made characters who’s known to be a villain in the past. On November was when I killed Dark off because that was how the plot suppose to end with him being gone from Caleb for a while then at the very least, but it was also when I wanted to make him as my own personal OC than him being a Darkiplier OC.
So to finally start with the actual details about him with this question: who is Eidottnawi? Especially, who is he to Caleb? Was he also known to be the Caleb Norwood, but for some reason, he wasn’t him anymore and became himself — perhaps Caleb made a deal to someone divine who would take part of his soul that contains his negativity and pessimism as an exchange for him having the capability to be resilient, and Eddie managed to come into his life to teach him how everyone can’t ever be happy and optimistic? Is he the future Caleb and he goes back in time to when Caleb doesn’t have extreme flaws upon his mortals and personality, to remind him that he will eventually change to how he is and show him how would his future self be like because of how cruel and dark the world can make a person? Or is he just a vivid imagination of himself, made intendedly and subconsciously made by Caleb himself, to put himself into traumatizing situations and scenarios he would believe he so deserve, being told by himself, or so Eddie, of the things he refuses to acknowledge of, but as a result in the end, he would with a better reason other than him giving up on himself?
While he is somewhat part of Caleb, he is an extremely bitter and terribly broken God, he knows how life itself works and plays upon Mortals and Gods, and he have lived, more than what should be enough for him, or so he would wish him to die at least to his nineties. As Caleb is the God of time and space, Eddie is the Dark God, may would he be viewed as “the Void” as well, which would make sense to have a belief that they both would create the space and time with everything and nothing, if Eddie actually exists as a separate individual, I suppose. But, maybe, because Eddie is somewhat Caleb, and seeing him being all happy-go-lucky and doesn’t give twice a shit about anything when he should be behaving and thinking the way he is, acknowledging the bad cases in what life offers to, it makes him furious and wants to damage Caleb for himself, even if he doesn’t want to, but he’s trying to help him.
You see, Eddie, like Caleb, wants to help the world, to be the hero, because of their creation of the world, to Eddie, he doesn’t want to see it end with a split between beauty and chaos, and unfortunately, it seems impossible because there’s need to a balance with everything to nothing, but rather than attempting to influence people’s negative actions and beliefs, as obvious as it is, he kills them, and you may now view Eddie as a stereotypical antihero rather than a villain, but, oh, his morals are so much more and that along with his ways to help the innocents are a lot more fucked up and twisted, and here is the list:
1. HE WILL LIE in order to make people feel reassured and happy. 2. HE WILL KILL BEAUTIFUL-LOOKING PEOPLE as he doesn’t want them to experience a moment of them “becoming” ugly. 3. HE WILL KILL CHILDREN so they could die without having to experience what’s the world really like to them as they grow up. 4. HE WILL BE RUDE AND OBNOXIOUS TO OTHERS in order for people to get away from him and prevent them from befriending him as he wants best for both him and them to not grow attach each other, otherwise their feelings for each other would rip apart from their chest in the end. 5. HE WILL KILL THE POOR as to help end their suffering of hunger in desperation and be free and welcomed to heaven or anywhere as a paradise. 6. HE WILL HARM PEOPLE as to help them have more attention, love and care from their friends, families and loved ones. 7. HE WILL BULLY PEOPLE to help them improve their ability to stand up for themselves. 8. HE WILL GIVE DRUGS, ONE NIGHT STANDS, OR ALCOHOL TO PEOPLE to make them feel entertained and satisfied, if only they would ask for it, 9. HE IS WILLING TO KILL PEOPLE IF THEY ARE SUICIDAL so it would look like a murder case rather than them committing suicides to make their friends and loved ones more dreadful and pity them, much to their dislike. 10. HE WILL COMMIT CANNIBALISM OF EATING “HIS OWN KIND,” HUMANS AND ENCOURAGE THEM TO DO IT SO to help decrease the overpopulation of the world and there would be food available with human parts if any other isn’t available.
Does he have lack of remorse from doing them just as killing the bad people? Yes, he would lack any sympathy in committing such crimes like that, because, again, he wants to help and he does think what’s listed above is the best way to do them, but to anyone, it’s clearly wrong, but at the same time… it has their reason that makes his crimes more appropriate to commit them. He never thinks of his target’s friends and families because it’s about them only, and that’s it, and he’s helping them for their sake only. Plus if anyone wishes to join them, Eddie wouldn’t mind killing them to be with their deceased loved ones once again. What is even the biggest belief that sticks to his mindset is how in the end, everyone will die, so he doesn’t think anything matters, but the people who he kills, are given a ticket to be truly happy and free earlier. With moral number nine, that’s what his real name, Eidottnawi, comes to play. It is either a gift or a curse, and either someone says what is the backword of his name as a beg or a realization of what his name actually meant, it’s like a kick to his instinct to kill them.
I want to die, I want to die, an̸̴d ̶̡ýo͜͡ú̢ ̸̷̷wi̵l͢͢l̨̢͟ ͏͝r̨̡e̶c͢e̷͟ív͢͜e҉ ̶ţ̕h͏e̵ ҉t̡̕͘iç̸̷k̷̵͝ę́t͏,̧ ̴͝m̷ý̵ ̸͘d̷̷́e̕҉̧a̡r͢.́͞͡
