#hello again everyone. how's it going #isat loop #in stars and time #isat fanart #in stars and time fanart #isat #lucabyteart #isat spoilers #so. had this idea Before getting my hands on the artbook and being validated. literally have a voice note from 4:30am on the 8th where #i frantically noted down this just horrid horrid horrid caption because i'd been musing on the sasasap Dress line all day i suppose #just kind of rotating in my brain the way any kind of first time trying on new clothes for them would be .#just absolutely mental breakdown material and not one i think would be recovered from quickly. they hate being in their own skin #like. a lot? like a lot. the collateral of any kind of transfemme read was barely in my mind until it ended up relevant again while i was #actively working on this. because christ that's a bad combo. 2x different forms of body dysphoria in one. maybe even 3x somehow #plus any scenario where they get clothes is... likely gifted. something they react viciously negatively to in game and i doubt #would improve thereafter. just a veritable katamari of disgust and self-loathing #like i was mostly just thinking abt how a lot of our collective depictions of loop being alienated from their body are rather abstract #in a body horror way mostly. on account of loop being more of a metaphor than a person half the time. so i think i wanted to depict #something closer to just. a human level of body dysphoria. no focus on the whole duplicate thing just... raw disgust for the self #but with the addition of recent discussion and playing ball more with the she/her loop and transfem loop angle...#scenario of leaning into femininity to try throw off suspicion on who they are PLUS realising they might want that PLUS the party #trying to use this to bond with them PLUS body dysphoria PLUS new!gender dysphoria PLUS the usual revulsion for wanting and desire #like. that is a catastrophic combination . not coming out of that one without it getting worse for a few weeks thereafter #that's a real lash out at everyone around them and then recede in shame type breakdown. which im sure looks interesting from #the party's pov because jesus christ that touched a nerve something awful (<- they only have half the context AT BEST)#. so . there's your free scenario to ponder on if you'd want to. seeing as ive done a picture without a shitload of words on it for once #ALSO don't get smart with me in the tags about the mirror test being an absolutely ass test in most regards re: self-awareness #or that things like minnows pass it. i'm a fellow pedant dont worry. it's just that minnow doesn't really have the same ring as dog yknow?#this is supposed to be like an absolutely excruciatingly self loathing thought spoken aloud of a caption. it's pithy and cruel on purpose #and more than a little inspired by (reblogged yesterday) liminal space's 'there is no other dog. it's just you'

so as a preface I wanna state that this blog is PG-13/TV-14 like the game, so there's topics regarding mental health, self harm, suicide (as they're factors in Siffrin's life, even if the focus isn't on these details its still something they live with) so it shouldn't be surprising that i don't take any issue with discussing the human body nor with depicting it.

in fact like, the comic (soon even!) will make jokes and tease the idea of showing nudity (NOT genitalia) because frankly, i do think the human body is funny. i've already made jokes about butts before so this isn't out of my realm of comedic bullshit. said nudity is censored, partly so i don't have to worry about comicfury/tumblr upping the rating/adding warnings but also the censor bars themselves are part of the gag

that said, while i don't think the human body is inherently sexual, i DO get anxious as hell talking about it even if my work doesn't flinch from any topics. (don't ask me how that works, i'm anxious just typing this LMAO?) anyway i just wanted to talk about this to get a read of what people think, and how I could go about it going forward?

i draw the Siffrins as skinny people. They're described as short and scrawny ingame* and I intend to keep true to that detail. But skinny doesn't mean bone-thin. I enjoy pushing body diversity in my work, and Siffrin isn't without fat. They (like me actually!) hold fat at their thigh-hip-belly area. my art has gotten more detailed/ anime-level realistic in proportion so this became more clear when it came time to not bullcrap-simplify the anatomy.

* (They're the same height as Mirabelle w/ heels on; the Running One and Siffrin afterward call themselves scrawny)

so like, the Siffrins are skinny. they're pear/triangle shaped, i didn't give them large breasts. despite that, i've gotten a few comments alluding to them being big? and that confuses me?

my only guess is that the outline just naturally makes everything look thicker AND/OR side angles could make it seem bigger? am I weird and have a distorted view of what's small? earlier today i even cut off the extra line thickness but i'm still getting comments on this. (NOT that anyone has been inappropriate or anything)

I know the jester pose itself DOES push things so, yeahhh, things are more emphasized, so maybe that's??? what's being referred to? my only hope is as the comic continues (it'll mainly be night segments like rn) and we see more of the two without a cloak it'll be more obvious they're not big honkers idk. like i'm just??? questioning my ar abilities here and way over thinking things 😭

I am rotating some Thoughts about Loop and Siffrin seeing each other as two halves of the same person- specifically, Siffrin as the body (kept the actual physical form of Siffrin that everyone recognizes, can go out and interact with things directly) and Loop as the soul (was the original person and still has older memories of things that no other person can know, has knowledge and spiritual? connection to the greater mysteries of the universe but has to work through Siffrin instead of acting themself).

Mostly because I got reminded that this poem exists and the idea of it as Siffrin and Loop arguing is delicious to me.

They both badly need something that the only the other one can truly give them, and they seem to be at their best when working together in harmony to achieve a greater goal.

...Also from a Sifloop perspective, the idea of having a body be in love with the soul its supposed to hold and shelter and act on behalf of/a soul in love with the body that its supposed to guide and awaken and lead on to better things? Mmmmm, tasty tasty symbolism, yes please.

Or, you know. Very literal, if you want them to get freaky with some body-sharing scenarios. I'm just saying, the idea of Siffrin being self-sacrificing and lonely enough to go "wait, you were supposed to be in this body and you're clearly unhappy out there, come back in so we can be together and you can be who you want to be again!" has some interesting potential.
