Mitsuru perches on one of the cushioned stools in the command room with her hands clasped primly together on her knees. Shinjiro and Akihiko sit across from her on the couch.
Earlier she had sent them each a message requesting that they meet her here after classes were finished for the day. It would be best to talk about what had happened in Kyoto sooner rather than later, after all.
They had arrived promptly, but thus far none of them have said a word.
Mitsuru is hardly surprised to find herself so tongue-tied. She has been all day– truth be told, she’d had the invitation carefully composed before the first bell had rung, but it was well past midday before she could work up the nerve to send it.
Her initial instinct is to scold herself for her hesitation– why should she be so anxious over the idea of having a conversation with her first and oldest friends? That self-critical impulse is irrational, she knows this. She is well aware of how much is at stake for all of them.
Based on how, and how strongly, Akihiko and Shinjiro had reacted to Mochizuki’s speculation, it’s undeniably clear that there’s something here, between the three of them. They wouldn’t have looked so embarrassed if there wasn’t a grain of truth to it. But to actually name the beast–
It is an… intimidating prospect, to say the very least. It shouldn’t be, not after everything she’s faced, or that they’ve faced together.
The catalogue of things they have faced together, however, rather notably does not include matters of the heart. She’s at a loss at how to even begin.
All she can say for certain, is that her approach thus far has been agonizingly incorrect. The atmosphere she’s created feels more like a particularly grim business meeting than a frank and open discussion of emotions between friends.
She entertains the thought of retreat. They could limit this conversation to merely acknowledging the elephant in the room, and then agree to decide what they actually wish to do with it at a later date. Rarely, if ever, has she been so tempted to indulge in cowardice. Perhaps her future self will be braver…
Shinjiro, with a barely discernible grimace, rolls and adjusts one shoulder– his bad one. The one bearing record of the wound that had come so close to killing him.
It is far, far too late for that, but–
Shinjiro laughs once, very softly. Mitsuru is too bewildered to be even slightly offended.
He nudges Akihiko with his elbow, perhaps a tad more forcefully than necessary. Normally this would serve as a thrown-down gauntlet and lead directly into a fight, but today Akihiko merely laughs.
Akihiko rubs sheepishly at his bicep, looking down at his other hand as it fidgets in his lap.
Mitsuru delicately clears her throat. Even though the situation hadn’t been allowed to become entirely unchaste, and even if Akihiko had relayed it in a minimally lurid manner– the thought of him speaking of it aloud makes heat sting under her skin. The fact that he had only disclosed it to Shinjiro does nothing to make her feel less embarrassed– indeed, it may actually heighten her mortification.
…She does recall that Akihiko had shown a particular uptick in enthusiasm for his morning jogs– and afternoon jogs, and evening logs– throughout the month of July. She also remembers the behavior's occasional brief resurgences in August and– as a matter of fact– early September, right after Shinjiro had returned to the team. How foolish of her to not make the connection.
Then again, her own state of mind immediately after the incident had also been rather… preoccupied. Perhaps it’s no surprise at all, in that light.
Shinjiro slides his gaze over the meet hers momentarily. Despite her simmering nerves, Mitsuru cannot help but smile.
Akihiko actually looks a little taken aback. She may not know exactly what Shinjiro is referring to, but it’s certainly having an effect on the intended target.

the knight has to be a lightner because it is explicitly stated that only lightners can create dark fountains, and they have to be living in hometown because the cyber world was created in the time between chapter 1 and 2
so why the fuck are there people who believe that a darkner or Asriel could be the knight
#deltarune#also I doubt it’s Alvin or Kris either#Alvin especially doesn’t have a talksprite or unique voicegrunt and his name being chosen for the vessel illicits no response#Kris looks nervous about the dark world which doesn’t make sense if they made it#and them making one dark fountain doesn’t mean they’re 100% the knight#but at least they’re both there to make the fountains in the first place#personally I like the papyrus knight theory

The @askoverkill Director isn't just a Siffrin, they're specifically Loop
(Before starting, I recommend reading starry-voidss's post here, as I will be bringing up much of aer list again. I do not claim ownership of this theory— this post here is basically a compilation of everything I could think, or have heard of.
Obviously, this has art and spoilers from askoverkill and In Stars and Time!)
(Also, this is presented in a bullet list for organisation— hope that's okay!)
1. The Design
If the head shape being the same (-> spiky, white) isn't good enough on its own, there is a couple of things to compare aside from that!
They both have upturned eyes, starry skin/theming, and a star/star shaped symbol in the center of their chest.
(And maybe the fact the ref sheet for the Director says xir mouth "makes no sense", which is understandable considering Loop had none.)
Add to this the resemblance between the Director and Siffrin (eye shape, right eye being [missing/bleeding], and boots with heels).
The Director has red eyes, something Loop also has during their fight during the twohats fight. Her eyes are also described as spirals, which:
Some of the Director's talksprites, namely in this post, have sparkles coming from him.
2. Persona
Same introduction joke. (The same one which made sense for Loop to say because you learn later that they are you/Siffrin.)
The theater themes are also obvious, it's everywhere with the Director; and as we know, it's a huge thing for Siffrin and Loop specifically. But the thing that's especially relevant here is this:
Here, in the first one, Loop refers to Siffrin as a director; but if you've played SASASAP, you'll know that much of these lines are VERY relevant to them also (everything minus the "restarting from the top" still tracks; and well, they are literally using a talksprite literally called "fake1" before getting interrupted).
In the second line, they are directly talking about themself.
Loop basically only refers to the party by their roles (Housemaiden, Fighter, Researcher and Kid) except in specific instances (post-Kingquest end, when they're blaming Siffrin for not protecting Bonnie from the King, and twohats fight, when they're talking about how the party did not recognize them), which is also something that the Director does, as seen for example when they are introducing the cast.
(Also, fun fact: the Director's usage of "the Fighter" vs Isabeau's actual title in ISAT being "the Defender". You know when exactly Isabeau stopped using "the Fighter"?)
(Pictured left: Start Again, pictured right: ISAT)
(You know who else still uses it?)
Also as seen in the cast introduction post, the Director seems very familiar with the party, acting as though she's seen them before (perhaps multiple times), while being surprised at these specific Overkill versions ("I've never seen him so gruff", "You look extra studious today", "you all fit your roles to the T!"). In this post, he appears familiar with the House, recognising the trap and naming the Death Corridor.
Xe absolutely hates Siffrin: skipping them as a party member when introducing the cast, calling him a Tragedy, and stating they aren't even a person. They have repeatedly killed multiple Siffrin, acts hostile towards even Lupus the moment she notices them, and saying they can't wait to kill Dawn as well (namely, by strangling him).
The Director knows about and is connected to Wish Craft, with it being able to modify physical aspects of him.
The Director specifically brings up Siffrin's single Silver Coin when talking about them, implying they at the very least know of its importance to them. (Specifically, when talking about eating him. Close enough, welcome back ISAT cannibalism themes.)
Director states that food tastes rotten or "like nothing" to them, which is as relevant to Siffrin as it is to Loop.
3. Misc.
This spoilered text from the Director's ref sheet very clearly says "a bad wish". You know who else made two (!!) wishes that ended up going badly for them— one that trapped them in a timeloop, and one that took their body away?
The Director uses "blinding" and "stars" as swears.
So have you seen that image of the Director holding Mirabelle's face and telling her she's their favorite actor? I have, and it reminded me of a very specific image—
(Pictured on the right, SASASAP Siffrin, also known as Loop)
The Director is ace. "Just like Siffrin!" Just like Loop too!
The Director is described as having "Flowey vibes". Flowey, a character who 1) lost their body (as Asriel) and soul, 2) was in a timeloop (albeit self caused) for a very long time before someone else with stronger Determination arrived, 3) despises the protagonist until they don't (-> Pacifist ending)… VS Loop, a character which 1) lost their body (as Siffrin) and family, 2) was in a timeloop (unknowingly caused by their own wish) for a very long time before they made their second wish, got turned into Loop and was replaced by another Siffrin, 3) has a kind of hot and cold relationship to Siffrin until they don't
The Director names Overkill as "The Encore of Vaugarde", which seems to imply there was already a play of Vaugarde before this. Now this could simply be that they know the name of the blog/story, but again, they do seem to have already seen (versions of) the party previously...
The Theater Curse is described as "Those who touch a piece of the sky will become a puppet of the Director, playing out an endless play". An endless play, you say?
4. Problems
Loop has been stated to appear. If we have three+ Siffrin (Dawn, Dusk and Lupus and every other one that died in the House), can we have two Loop? Or is the Loop mentioned in that post potentially only a guide in the way they were, while not being Loop themself? Shrug ig
Loop uses they/them and the Director uses every pronoun. (Which is a problem, until you consider that Loop has already changed pronouns in the past, going from he/they as Siffrin to they/them as Loop, so them changing again isn't all that far out the question I don't think...??)
Although Loop fights Siffrin, they are ultimately unable to kill him. What changed here to make the Director not only capable of doing so, but actively doing it multiple times in cruel ways?
Depending on how you interpret this line, the Director potentially knows about the King killing Bonnie; which is something that only happened in ISAT, not SASASAP.
There are also these two lines below, (first one from SASASAP, second is the unused ISAT (Ask...) question), comparing the King to a deity. If Overkill is essentially canon ISAT but stretched to the point of it being "overkill", would these lines imply the King has become a deity...?
(Even if you consider these lines non-canon due to their origins, it is pretty clear that the King at least considers himself a deity— with the whole possesses immense power -> being very tall -> "protecting" Vaugarde by freezing it in time despite everyone's wishes it -> breaking Change God statues, etc...)
(Also, if the Director is indeed Loop, where would the King be?)

Did these to test the waters on making sprite comics for Kingdom of Hometown. See Chara Sprites [HERE]
See Asriel Sprites [HERE] See Kingdom of Hometown comic here: [LINK] Notes: -Getting the background sizes to look right is tough on my end so you may notice that they are a bit blurry. These backgrounds are taken from existing Ch 1 maps around online and resizing them likely affected the picture quality. If anyone knows of a better method to getting these backgrounds to look right on a sprite comic, do tell! -Panel 3 has a fanmade Asriel talksprite of him screaming that I got from the Asriel discord server. Unfortunately I don't know who the original spriter for that one is so if anyone knows who made it, I would love to know.

LCB Regular Check-up trailer is here
You know what that means. I'm gonna try and analyze the trailer as much as I can.
Here's the thing for those who have yet to see it.
youtube
Done watching it? Good. Let's get into things then.
First thing to note about this trailer is some overarching stylistic choices. Mainly the purposeful pixelated low resolution of the story-related bits, as well as the bits showing cutscene talksprites being placed in a 3D space. That doesn't tell us much on its own, but it is something to note nonetheless.
The first scene we see in the trailer is an exchange with Vergilius and Faust, where they both announce that today is the day for Limbus Company's LCB regular check-up. Notably, I find Verg's phrasing of his first shown line here to be interesting. "Yes, I knew that this day would eventually come." Obviously we won't know what the vocal delivery of this line is until the rerun, but to me this line reads as exasperated. As if he was just asked a question or was being reminded and he's just answering that yes, he expected this to happen at some point.
Next up we see the new Event Identities, both being the LCE equivalent of LobCorp E.G.O Identities - LCE E.G.O Lantern Yi Sang and LCE E.G.O Ardor Blossom Star Faust.
Visually, LCE's E.G.O suits appear to be similar in base to LobCorp's E.G.O suits, that being three piece suits with fairly long jackets and an armband representing their department, in this case being LCE. They also appear to have E.G.O gifts in the form of head accessories like LobCorp agents as well. Unlike LobCorp's suits however, these ones appear to have more... features, so to speak. Specifically, Yi Sang's Lantern suit includes a branch with a fairy lure, while Faust's Ardor Blossom Star suit can manifest wings.
Voicelines-wise, the ones we got from Yi Sang don't give us as much info, so let's start with those.
The two initial lines show Yi Sang as acting somewhat similar to the Faelantern Abnormality, luring someone else in with the promise of rest while in reality trapping them with him, as well as becoming confrontational when a person tries to get out of the situation. The main difference here is that Yi Sang is hilariously luring people in so that they help him with his work.
The last bit of dialogue from him shows us a bit of what LCE does, that being experiments with handling this type of E.G.O gear. Notably, I think the latter part of this dialogue is also somewhat of a reference to Faelantern, specifically to Gregor's Lantern E.G.O where the lure appears to be telling stories - Yi Sang seems to also be a storyteller, and thus struggles to concisely explain the events that took place.
Faust's voicelines are far more intriguing.
First, we see what appears to be a reassesment of Ardor Blossom Moth's current classification. There are two important bits of information here. One - Abnormalities in Limbus are likely to have their risk levels changed, as currently ABM's classification is HE, while the voiceline says its final designation will be WAW-5. Two - it appears that the new classifications might not only designate risk levels, but the Type of risk as well, considering Faust's musing on ABM's self-destructive tendencies. The -5 at the end of the designation could represent that specific risk of an Abnormality self destructing.
The next bit of dialogue shows a bit of interesting insight into LCE's E.G.O gear. The thing with the E.G.O gear in LobCorp is that their somewhat conceptual nature doesn't require the user to have any actual combat experience to wield them proficiently. Simply wearing them confers certain traits and abilities of the Abnormality onto the E.G.O's user. Based on this dialogue, LCE's E.G.O gear might have some shortcomings compared to LobCorp's, as the ABS E.G.O gear requires some practice when it comes to using its wings due to them not originally being a part of human anatomy. Also, there is the very hilarious implication that Faust's initial trial run of the E.G.O gear resulted in her crashing into the ceiling.
Then the last voice line is interesting. It's not unlikely for this to be one of the Stage Victory voicelines, implying that part of LCE's responsibilities isn't just experimentation with their E.G.O gear, but also experimenting with Abnormalities and similar entities. Specifically, combat might be the way they analyze how different entities act in specific situations.
Gonna also make some brief comments on the gameplay mechanics. Lantern Yi Sang appears to have a counter, Aggro, as well as some sort of unique mechanic upon death based on the particles that emanate from his corpse. Judging by their shape, it might have something to do with E.G.O resources? Ardor Blossom Star Faust on the other hand is shown to have some sort of empowered Skill 3, which can in certain circumstances result in her dying. Really funny to see both of the new Identities just fucking die in their showcases not gonna lie.
Back to the story-important bits, we're introduced to who appears to be an important side character to this Intervallo - Hohenheim, who says he's the chief researcher of Limbus Company. Judging by his silhouette including bolts and small electric sparks, he's likely wearing LCE's version of the AEDD E.G.O. The name Hohenheim itself is likely a reference to Paracelsus, or Theophrastus von Hohenheim, a historical philosopher and alchemist. Notably, this would make him our second important person in LC who has ties to alchemy, the first of course being Faust herself.
The camera turns to show Heathcliff trembling in anger, threatening with violence and expressing a want to get this whole thing over with as soon as possible. It's a little bit unclear if this outburst is directed specifically at Hohenheim, or if it's Heathcliff being generally impatient with the circumstances the Sinners have found themselves in. Either way the juxtaposition here is notable, as Heathcliff is one of the two Sinners to actually have AEDD as one of his E.G.Os, so I don't think his placement here is coincidental.
Then we get another interlude, this time to show an event E.G.O - Thoracalgia Ryoshu, based on the Abnormality Sleeping Bag of Olden Days. Thoracalgia is a word referring to chest pain, one that is commonly accompanied by shortness of breath. Some interesting observations about this E.G.O:
One - Ryoshu's vocal delivery here is unlike that of any other E.G.O. She's noticeably lacking energy in her lines, having a flatter and deeper tone, with her moment of intensity being considerably subdued compared to some other E.G.O.
Two - the visual design of the E.G.O, both awakening and corrosion, has a similar appearance to that of a ribcage. The claw-like potrusion in the back are the ribs, the containers with liquid are the lungs, and Ryoshu stands in place of the heart. Notably, one side of the ribs for Ryoshu is completely burnt off, in both her awakening and corrosion. Another detail I find interesting is that Ryoshu has the breathing mask off in her awakening, in favor of smoking a cig, while in her corrosion she has it forced onto her face, unable to take it off due to being a disembodied head. One last interesting visual detail is that in her awakening, her main outfit has a resemblance to a straitjacket.
Okay, back to the story bits. We're shown footage of Hong Lu and Sinclair fighting Wrath Peccatula as Hohenheim continues, explaining that they're first going to be testing the Sinners' responses to emergency situations. However he cuts himself off in the explanation and talks about something else - that he needs an assistant.
This is where the visuals get very, very interesting. The 3D aesthetic of the cutscene segments pays off here, as we see what appears to be a 3D POV sequence of someone walking through the test chamber and being swarmed by Wrath Peccatula. Now. I don't think this is just for the trailer. I believe this is a part of what we'll see in the Intervallo. Whether it's an actual playable 3D segment or simply an animated cutscene (remember, we did see some 3D animated cutscenes in Canto 5, of the busboat stage assembling itself and the Whale of the Porous Hand grabbing the boat), I think the implication of this sequence is clear - Dante is not exempt from this check-up. They too are likely going to have to go through similar tests as the rest of the Sinners, and that includes being locked up in one room with a bunch of Peccatula.
The dialogue we see during this sequence further makes me sure that that is the case. Hohenheim explains he needs someone to help him smooth out testing procedures and says he'd like for one of the Sinners to help for the duration of this check-up. Notably, in a blink an you'll miss it bit of dialogue, Hohenheim says in bolded text "Yes, you, good man." We have confirmation that whoever Hohenheim picked as his assistant is a man, which not only limits who among the Sinners can become the assistant, but also specifically rules out Dante, as PJM has been extremely consistent when it comes to referring to them with gender neutral terms. With Dante not acting as the assistant to Hohenheim, the chances of them having to go through the same tests as the rest of the Sinners is drastically increased.
Finally, there's the last bit of dialogue on an empty screen. Notably, the speaker here is obscured, showing neither the name nor the sprite. While it's easy to assume this is also Hohenheim speaking, we can't actually be sure. The speaker explains that they have collected enough data to compare the Sinners' current states to those of how they were pre-employment. They tell everyone to pay attention, explaining they too want to be done with this check-up, only for us to hear the sound of some mechanism (likely a large door) opening instead of the results.
Then, we get the title image for the Intervallo, with each Sinner being highlighted one by one.
So.
Here are my predictions for this Intervallo:
The Sinners are going to be tested, primarily on their combat abilities and responses to threats, thus explaining combat stages. At some point something might go wrong, potentially some sort of a breach, as implied by the noise of a mechanical door opening at the very end.
One of the specifically male Sinners is going to either have their tests be saved for last or end up completely exempt due to being picked by Hohenheim to be his assistant. I believe this is likely to be a Sinner who has some sort of plot-relevant secret regarding their current physical condition, thus keeping us from being able to learn it immediately or at all yet.
Dante is likely not going to be exempt from the tests, and we'll see a POV sequence of them being put in the chamber just like the rest of the Sinners. Whether this sequence will be just an animated cutscene or a fully playable if brief bit of gameplay is yet to be seen.
We might get some more info on the new classifications for Abnormalities and related entities, alongside some reclassifications in a similar vein to Ardor Blossom Moth changing from HE to WAW-5.
With one of the main points of intrigue being the comparison of pre-employment Sinners to their current states, we're likely to get a not insignificant insight on Don Quixote, Ryoshu, and Gregor. Especially Ryoshu, considering the fact that becoming a Sinner weakened her was brought up as early as Canto 2.
Please Hong Lu foreshadowing. Please.

hokay the people have spoken heres an insane ramble on why Rouxls Kaard, Duke of Puzzles, is actually Dr. W.D. Gaster.
(VERY LONG)
Okay before we start this is like 95% speculation and me Going Insane so uh be warned :3
Let’s start off with some simple ole
Visual Similarities
Rouxls has his hair parted on the same side that Gaster has his face cracked.
Rouxls has his odd mouth line thing on the same side that Gaster has his crack from his mouth. This one especially has some weight, as Rouxls’ mouth thing has always been an… odd design choice, to say the least. And while it does occasionally swap sides (namely in his talksprite), it is portrayed on the right in his overworld sprite and Thats What Matters.
The Hands. Both Rouxls and Gaster have had an odd amount of emphasis placed on their hands. Gaster is of course The Man Who Speaks In Hands, and Rouxls had his hands shown in his talksprite when he was starting his polycule (examples below), and he is the only character in all of both Undertale and Deltarune to have this. He also had his hands animated during his shop sequence but thats less important sounding.

4. Color Pallets. Both have colorations of a dark color prominent on the body with white mostly being on the head. It should also be noted that in Rouxls’ shop, he appears black-and-white, like Gaster.
Non-Visual Similarities
Puzzles. Both have shown some interest in puzzles. Rouxls is obviously the Duke of puzzles, and insists he’s good at them (just see my blog title lol), and Gaster made the Core into a puzzle in and of itself! There are many areas where you have to solve riddles and flick switches to progress, but why? It just wouldn’t make sense for such a seemingly genius guy to add such oddly overly complexly useless features to his life’s work! …Unless, of course, puzzles are important enough to you that it couldn’t possibly be your greatest creation without them!
Parenting! Assuming that Gaster is actually Sans and Papyrus’ father, then that makes both of them father figures to a short blue-white-and-black colored character who acts as comic relief throughout the early game of both Undertale and Deltarune.
Second-in-command. Rouxls has been rather repeatedly shown to desire very little more than to be the second in command to whoever seems important in any given area. He in fact succeeded at this in ch1 with King. Similarly, Gaster wound up as the Royal Scientist to King Asgore, and appears to have been as close to a second in command as possible.
It’s possible that Gaster is from the Deltarune universe (see images below). In entry 17 he is shown speaking about darkness and shadows, namely about the growth of them, similarly to how the Dark Worlds are made out of darkness and shadows. The River Person also mentions a ‘man from another world’ of whom Frisk should be wary of. While it’s entirely possible this refers to sans, the River Person is also shown using the exact same language to describe a ‘man who speaks in hands’ who is almost certainly Gaster. As such, it’s possible that Gaster was being referred to with both lines.

5. Ok technically this is visual but i just realized it and cant be bothered to edit my diagram but: Smiles. Both Gaster and Rouxls are shown with a near perpetual smile (as far as i can tell, rouxls only drops his smile for the ‘a worm from our sponsors’ bit in ch.3) even in situations where Rouxls seems angry, annoyed, or upset. (We do only have one Gaster sprite but he is possibly asleep with a smile, and upon being awoken he reacts in shock and surprise but keeps the smile.)
6. Language. It should be noted that Rouxls’ over the top manner of speaking is a choice. However, you could make an argument that both of them speak in a way that can be difficult to understand.
7. Powers. Rouxls has the ability to teleport. The only other character who can teleport is sans. It stands to reason that Rouxls could have taught sans how to teleport, albeit possibly only once in Undertale seeing as I dont believe we see sans teleport in Deltarune. Rouxls also has his Rules Card, and while I’m not sure how to tie that into Gaster but it’s definitely important.
8. Rouxls is too important. To try and identify a few other characters in a potentially Rouxls-esque position we’d have Swatch, Elnina, and Lanino. (Maybe also Berdly idk). None of these characters are important. Of them, Berdly has the most significance on account of being a Lightner, but even then I HIGHLY doubt he’ll reappear in a Dark World. Rouxls, on the other hand, has had two bossfights, been a major character in 3 chapters, and is one of only 3 Darkners to ever enter Kris’ pocket. (Debatably 6, if Jevil/Spamton/Eram count) Why all this, just for some random chapter 1 miniboss? Well perhaps he will be important. Maybe, just maybe, he will get pulled into a different world. A world where he becomes Gaster.

9. Ok so REALLY flimsy theory that i lowk stole off reddit but ties into this so im stealing it but its how this one Rudinn (see above) might be a Goner of sorts. As you can see, they directly state the Vessel’s Name. The only person we ever state the Vessel’s name to is, of course, Gaster. The exact relation of Gaster to the Goners is unknown, but it does exist. As such, it should be noted that Rudinns are from the Card Kingdom, right alongside Rouxls. It’s possible that this Rudinn, despite being a Goner, still wanted to follow Gaster. As such, they went and followed the closest thing available, Gaster before he became Gaster. (It should also be noted that when their color fades, they become blue and white, which could mean nothing, but also happens to be Rouxls’ color scheme.)
10. Engineering Capabilities. Gaster built the Core. Hes good at engineering. Rouxls, however, is also good at engineering, despite how it may seem. In Ch.2, he fights you using the machine you designed in Ch.1, saying he salvaged and repaired it. It should be noted that assuming Duck parts weren’t chosen, THE MACHINE WAS MADE OF TRASH. Rouxls used scrap metal to essentially build a functional machine from the ground up using blueprints made by an eight year old, two teens who are probably about as smart as the eight year old, and a guy who has literally never talked to anyone before yesterday. And if thats not some crazy engineering skill then I don’t know what is.
(ok edit uh sweet capn cakes might have fixed it but also their dialogue mightve been about berdly so idk) 11. Elevators. Hotland has two elevators (at which Gaster Followers can appear) that are possibly built by Gaster due to the visual similarities to the Core. The Card Castle has two elevators alongside Rouxls’ shop. The only other place that elevators appear in both Undertale and Deltarune is in Alphys’ Lab, in New Home, and in the Core. All of which are places and people with exceptionally strong ties to Gaster (Thus, he may have built them).
Possible Sequence of Events
This is for what I believe could be the timeline of Rouxls to Gaster.
We begin at whatever brings Rouxls (and possibly sans) into the Universe of Deltarune. Upon arrival, Rouxls retains his form due to the fact that he is underground and away from the light. He starts doing his usual routine of Trying To Be Second In Command, and uses his engineering prowess to impress Asgore and become the Royal Scientist. He works with sans and either Papyrus or Alphys (the end of entry 17 mentions two others) in some experiments and accumulates a small following before beginning work on his greatest project yet, The Core. It winds up a success (although few enjoy it’s puzzling interior) until one day, he slips and falls in. Due to his ties to both universes, his very being shatters across time and space, leaving us with the Gaster we know today.
Aaaand that’s pretty much it! It should be noted that i have somehow manged to legitimately convince myself that this is True and Will Happen. If you have any questions, feel free to ask! (I’d certainly love to answer!)
@papamado <-uh you asked to be tagged here ya go👍

When Shinjiro is summoned back down to the lounge by Kirijo, he’s still reeling a little, but his head’s on a bit straighter so he can do a better job at keeping it under wraps. Koromaru had scratched at his door not even five minutes after Aki and Kirijo had left, and with him as a hot water bottle, Shinjiro is pretty sure he got more rest out of that two hour nap than he had in the entire time he’d been in the hospital.
The new coat fits like it’s been his for years instead of just a few hours. Everyone is all smiles over seeing it on him when he comes down the stairs. It’s embarrassing as all hell and he can’t hold eye contact with any of them for very long.
Takeba in particular looks deeply pleased with herself, hands on her hips and an appraising light in her eye. Shinjiro levels the kind of scowl at her that regularly sends wannabe tough-guy street thugs scurrying like roaches, and she just smiles sunnily back at him. That girl’s got nerves of titanium, he’ll give her that.
She twirls one finger in a little circle– what, is she asking him to spin around for her? He rolls his eyes and beelines for one of the couches, making a point not to show Takeba his back along the way. Koromaru follows close at his heels and plasters himself against Shinjiro’s leg as he sits, resting his chin on Shinjiro’s knee.
Takeba laughs. Shinjiro contemplates melding with the couch. Thankfully for the last few lonesome scraps of his dignity, Junpei is easily and loudly distracted when the covers come off of the trays set on the coffee table. Immediately the air is perfumed with the sticky-sweet tang of vinegar and the clean, faintly salty smell of good, fresh fish.
Junpei makes a pitiful noise like a dog toy being stepped on, and Koromaru’s ears perk up, his head tilting to the side. Before Junpei can make too much of a fool of himself, though, the sound of tires crunching over the street outside catches everyone’s attention. Are Aigis and the Chairman back finally?
Shinjiro is taken by surprise for a second, but honestly he shouldn’t be. Of course Kirijo-san would want to be here to completely close out S.E.E.S. in person. Shinjiro only ever met him once, back in the early days right after S.E.E.S. was officially founded, though according to Aki, everyone else had seen him in Yakushima over the summer.
Kirijo-san strides in, flanked by two aggressively non-descript aides– real serious-looking types that still don’t look even half as serious as their boss. Kirijo-san hasn’t changed at all from how Shinjiro remembers him, except that maybe there are a few more grey hairs threaded along his temples. Everything else– the firm line of his mouth, the sharply upright posture, the even sharper eye– is exactly the same as it had been two years ago.
Everyone stands to go meet him, so with a sigh Shinjiro hauls himself off the couch. He ought to be polite and do the same.
The way his face softens almost undetectably when he looks at his daughter is just the same as Shinjiro remembers, too.
Amada, keeping his voice to a low whisper, asks Junpei who this is. Junpei replies with a grin and a lot less control of his volume– it should be obvious, right? After all, doesn’t Kirijo look exactly like her dad?
Amada blinks and squints like he’s earnestly trying to see what Junpei means. Shinjiro has to smother a laugh. They don’t look a damn thing alike, but Junpei’s still not wrong. They carry themselves the same way, make expressions the same way. Even after meeting him only once, Shinjiro’s already lost count of how many of Kirijo’s familiar habits and mannerisms he’s seen reflected in her father.
Kirijo-san says his piece, thanking them for everything they’ve done, even though they’ll never receive the recognition they deserve. Coming from just about anyone else, the whole speech would ring pathetically hollow.
It sounds completely sincere from Kirijo-san. He’s the kind of person they coined the phrase ‘commands respect’ for, and while Shinjiro can’t say about commanding, the man’s earned it from him at least. He’s the one person in any position of authority over S.E.E.S. who has.
Mostly this came down to him being the only person with authority who actually properly gave a shit about the gravity of asking a bunch of kids to fight this kind of battle. The researchers who had supervised their earliest attempts at exploring Tartarus– back when it had only been him and Aki and Kirijo– hadn’t sent them into the fray completely unprepared, but– they were scientists. They were in it for the science.
Then there’s the Chairman. He took the risk they’d been putting themselves through about as seriously as he took anything else. It had always rubbed Shinjiro the wrong way, how blasé Ikutsuki was about literally everything.
Kirijo-san had never said it in so many words, but it was clear to Shinjiro that if he could’ve summoned a Persona himself, he wouldn’t have let any of them even get close to the front line, much less thrown them at it.
As far as recognition goes, Shinjiro is just fine with going unsung. Even if he’d done enough to have earned it, he wouldn’t have wanted anything like that anyway. It’s just never been his style.
He knows not everyone feels that way, but there’s nothing to be done about it. It’s just something they’ll have to live with.
Shinjiro is brought out of his thoughts when Kirijo-san personally addresses and thanks Takeba, of all people. He’s not entirely certain what the story there is– Aki had gotten as far as telling him there was a story there, period, before Shinjiro had stopped him. It wasn’t any of his business. It still isn’t. And it’s not like it matters much anymore anyway.
And then Kirijo-san steps forward to personally address him next, which is just about the last thing he was expecting. Standing directly in front of him like this, something seems… off, suddenly. He wonders briefly if he’d been wrong at first about Kirijo-san being completely unchanged, until he realizes exactly which detail is throwing him: it’s the angle. It isn’t Kirijo-san that’s different here.
Shinjiro has to look down slightly to meet Kirijo-san’s eye, where back then he’d had to look up, because at some point in the intervening years Shinjiro has outgrown him.
God. If everything else wasn’t proof enough that Kirijo is her father’s daughter, then that shared guilty streak would nuke any lingering doubts for sure.
A laugh barks out of him before Shinjiro can stop himself.
He catches Kirijo’s eye over her father’s shoulder. She shakes her head, her lips folded together into a thin line. Someone else might take the expression as angry, but Shinjiro knows better– he can tell she’s fighting for her life not to smile.
He can’t say for sure, but for a moment something about the shape of Kirijo-san’s mouth makes Shinjiro think he’s wrestling with amusement, too. He never would’ve noticed it if he hadn’t already seen the same tells a hundred times before in his daughter.
God, this whole thing feels so surreal, but– he can’t find it in him to complain.

You probably get more requests (or, knowing how bad fandom can be, some might be demands) for fandubs than you'd like in general, but have any of the games people want you and your team to dub been games that just wouldn't work? Like, as an example, I remember reading someone commenting that they wanted a Sonic Free Riders dub, but that game's cutscenes are just talksprites against a background, and I wondered if they had even seen the cutscenes.
some of our most common fan requests are for games that just would straight up not be good with the way our show works LOL. subspace emissary, for example, was a huge one before we made it an april fools bit. i get so many requests for games that have like 20 minutes of cutscenes or have silent characters or absolutely zero story flow to work with. im not against playing w the format or doing non-obvious examples, in fact a more creative/subversive direction is where i ideally want to take the show past a certain point. i have a couple ideas in the backlog that are not immediately dub-friendly but come with gimmicks that i think could make them work. but ppl arent really considering these when they make suggestions. it's usually just like "do a pikmin fandub please" cause it's a game they like and it's not their job to think about how that would actually work.

Goddd, i can't wait for the festival - i have a certain feeling that we're gonna finally get to hear the second version of Lost Girl in-game - the one that Toby teased almost six years ago, the one with Susie's motif in it... I want that scene to be the most sappy, most heartwarming and just in general the cutest scene in the game tbh. Also, i haven't seen anyone mention that we have an unused talksprite for Susie blushing (like, whole face blush) - also have a feeling it'll get used there...
Oooooh man that could be a good place for that motif to show up! I'm both so excited and so scared for the festival...I know it's got the potential for some absolutely heart-bursting cute scenes between Susie and Noelle there! But highest highs often come with lowest lows, and man I'm scared of how those two might get really screwed over by the plot (i.e. Carol) coming for them after they have some really sweet scenes!
