maybe it’s a place that he goes to when he’s conflicted, or needs guidance or comfort or a reminder of who she really was, and how he should be. she was his teacher and mentor, his first friend and protector, and he loved her dearly - maybe that meadow is his refuge during those moments where he’s most vulnerable and really misses her. maybe the flowers are echo flowers, each one a message or memory of his life before. little secrets maria tucked into his mind forever before she died.
