Otherwise people are going to leave the site.

It’s oh so quiet 🤫
It so peaceful until……
Tumblr media
Our two faves are quiet. I am taken this as a beautiful sign of them working and living there life happy together.
As for the adjacent, they are also very quiet. Ant 🐜 is cleaning her IG more reducing even more tags and JD is promoting his play. Nothing special nothing crazy.
The only crazy is straitjacket wearing happenings of Jakolas. OmG! I can understand why there has been a reduction of Lukola social media presence.
The main issue is they tag Jake and Nicola in their bullshit and it is just straight up lies.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And to top it all off you get crazy blind items from who I assume are Antlukes spewing hate to DM about Nicola about the frequency of SM likes. I mean cmon…..FFS
Tumblr media
We as a fandom follow our faves because it brings us joy and gives us connection and a place to chat about a common interest.
Perception….the last year was crazy namely last 9 months. Before we knew who A or JD were (I am not sure about you) but I did not follow or look at any of Nic or Luke’s friends profiles.
Until the media labeled, tabloid pushed certain narrative that little sub fandom groups dropped and ran with them, starting to creep, investigate and twist the perception of the real story.
We are fed what we are meant to. But then anyone can write ✍️ a blind item, knowing that it is 💯 inaccurate just to cause chaos. Look at the two recently, one from the SAGs and from DM.
Netflix posted this today
Tumblr media
To true….you can destroy the world with your quill. The question is are you willing to believe everything you read or place some faith on common sense and evidence.
I am a common sense evidence kind of gal… my common sense comes to body language and clear signs, that A & JD have just been friends, we are getting fed so many different lines of stimulus from all over the place that it should all just come back to
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Our two faves have been consistent in each other’s lives as BFFs for 6 years. They post together and on each other’s grid, you can see and hear the connection in their words and actions.
I hope things stay quiet for there’s and our sake while I love content I prefer them to be at peace.
Things on the horizon…March 27th is when they announce other BAFTAs awards. Manifesting hardcore for Lukola, and if you haven’t voted and can please do.
Tumblr media
To finish just a small PSA…..
When I first came on tumblr I had no idea what I was doing. I followed heaps of blogs….mostly those with the names Lukola and Polin in the name. Now as I started blogging my self, and got a bit more savvy, I put notifications on the blogs who I read every day and followed and sometimes scrolled through my FYP. I became complacent and did not know about content on some of the blogs I was following. Nor did interact with them, unfortunately one particular blog which was a big problem was quite rude, and I had no idea.
I guess what I am getting at is if you do not want to be blocked by association or mistaken identity check who you are following before just clicking the button. Just because it says Lukola4evs, does not mean they are kind.
Have a good day 💛🐝

ok yeah, i may have skimmed over your yapping and just went through the tags bc what you said was a bunch of nothing. my fault but my point still stands lol.
there’s no such thing as “religious people needing to be accepted” here. no one is actively persecuting them and forcing them to be atheists (this is such a non-serious discussion all around). this is the internet ffs, everyone does what they want regardless. and you started this out of nothing and for no reason, when religious doctrines quite literally rule the world. one person making a question will not change that i assure you.
you may think my argument is annulled bc you’re claiming to be an “atheist” but even as an atheist ur still prone to being uneducated and just plain dumb… sorry 💩
(and no, i’m not hrrtshape. i shouldn’t be saying this bc i couldn’t care less abt two random bloggers and their mess, but yeah you made a big deal out of this and more people are allowed to think that 🤡 goodnight)
Not reading all that. Hope your frontal lobe develops to the point you can use a block button. Or at least to not have baboon screaming tantrum (anonymously might I add) as soon as someone says "hey maybe we should respect people because we also want respect".
And hey. I do call myself a self certified bimbo. The dumb comments mean nothing to me. At least the dumb one has compassion ❤️

Person walks into bakery, complains about the bakery smell, insists they start carrying salad greens. No, but metaphor aside, considering how pervasive censorship, "proshit dni", and morality policing are in fandom, either get used to a lot of submissions like that or. You know. There's that little button called "unfollow". Or "block", if you're feeling kinky.

keep a diary where u can pour all ur feelings abt how much u hate smut writers , complain abt it to ur friends in private , BLOCK THE PPL WHO MAKE U UNCOMFORTABLE instead of harassing them ? maybe ? question mark ? idk stop being annoying amen

Stranger of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin
Tumblr media
Gameplay           : ★★★☆☆ Graphics          : ★★★★☆ Story                    : ★★★☆☆ Customizability : ★★★★☆ Replayability        :★☆☆☆☆
Story
[Spoiler alert]
Tumblr media
Final Fantasy Origin tells the story of Jack and his 4 other companions who went on an adventure to defeat CHAOS while thinking they were the Warriors of Light mentioned in the prophecy. However what they didn't know is that they had their memories erased and things were not how they seem. Eventually Jack succumbed to CHAOS and became the Garland villain in FF1
Gameplay Mechanic
Tumblr media
FF Origin is an action RPG game that follows games like Crisis Core, FF0, FF15 etc. Out of the 5 characters you can only choose other 2 characters, on top of Jack whom you control, to your party. The other 2 characters will mostly be controlled by the game itself, with you being able to activate their "Resonance" state, allowing them to use their abilities more aggressively.
MP
MP in this game works slightly differently. At the start of every mission, Jack will always start off with 2 bars of MP, which also dictates as his MAX MP. Using skills/abilities will consume MP, while doing normal attack will slowly recover MP, up to the MAX MP. MAX MP however, can be increased by doing "Soul Burst" on enemies, or blocking an enemy's attack with "Soul Shield".
Break Gauge
There is a yellow bar above an enemy (below HP gauge) known as the break gauge. Attacking an enemy will deplete the gauge, and when the attack stops, the gauge will starts regenerating back. Once the Break Gauge is fully depleted, enemies will be temporarily defenseless and the gauge will starts to regen back. Once the gauge is fully regen-ed, the defenseless status will be removed. Your characters also have Break Gauge and functions the same way. When Jack's break gauge is depleted, his max MP will decreased, and his buffs & instant ability will also be removed.
Soul Burst and Soul Shield
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Soul Burst and Soul Shield are 2 abilities limited to Jack. While enemies are defenseless, Jack can use a "Soul Burst" action ability to deal heavy break damage to enemy, while recovering his MP and raise his max MP. Performing this attack will usually defeat the enemy immediately, but note that this ability can only be used when enemy is defenseless (aka break gauge depleted). Performing this action will also unleash a shockwave which will grealy reduce nearby enemies' break gauge, allowing you to chain burst broken enemies.
"Soul Shield" on the other hand works closer to Blocking. Holding B button will adopt a "Soul Shield" stance (blocking), and during this time the break gauge will be consumed quickly. Blocking an attack while in this stance will restore MP and increase Jack's MAX MP. You can parry after a successful block. This is a high risk high return guard move compared to normal guarding, as it will reduce your break gauge.
Instant Abilities
When you block an enemy ability with a purple name using Soul Shield, that ability will become usable as an instant ability. Instant abilities do not consume MP, but their number of uses is limited.
Command Abilities and Lightbringer
Tumblr media
Command abilities are special abilities you can cast in battle. It can be either an attack, a buff, healing, etc. You can equip up to 4 "Command Abilities", but one of them is fixed to be "Lightbinger". It is a special ability that consume 2 MP and 2 MAX MP, but will increase the amount of break damage you do to enemies, while reducing enemy's max break gauge, allowing you to break an enemy easier for a short period of time.
When your max MP has increased to 2 or more full gauges, you can spend MP and max MP to cast Lightbringer. While it is active, enemies become easier to soul burst.
Combo Abilities
Tumblr media
You can equip skills you learnt in various job's skill tree as your combo abilities. There are a few combo abilities that you can set.
Jobs
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Jack can equip 2 Jobs and able to quickly swap between the 2 builds at any point in time. Jobs allows your character to change your playstyle, which each job being able to equip different kinds of weapons. There is a skill tree for each Job, and every time you level up a specific job you will earn points that you can use in the skill tree. To fully master one skill tree you need to level up the job to level 30 (which will increase to 99 in post-game). There are 10 basic jobs, 12 Advanced jobs, and 11 Expert jobs. To unlock Expert jobs you will need to unlock specific nodes in Advanced job, and to unlock advanced job you will need to unlock specific node in basic job. For e.g you will need to advance to learn specific nodes in both Swordsman and Ronin to unlock Warrior Advanced job, and you need to unlock specific nodes in Warrior and Dragoon to unlock Liberator Expert job.
For ally, they only have limited Job that is unlocked as the story progresses.
Job Affinity
Tumblr media
Job Affinity is an important aspect that is not really explained well. Each equipment may come with a job affinity. Nodes in skill tree will also increase job affinity. When you stacked all these, the sum of the job affinity will give a Job Affinity Bonus. For example, when you reached 250% Job Affinity for the Berserker job, you will have the bonus passive effect of "Automatically grants the effects of protect and shell when near death". Note that you do not need to equip the Berserker job to get this effect, and because of this it allows you to have many different build combinations and customizability.
One other aspect of job affinity is that it determines the amount of EXP you get for that job. For example in your build, you have 100% job affinity for Warrior and 50% job affinity for Ninja, defeating an enemy will grant you EXP for both of these jobs, with Warrior netting more EXP than Ninja. Note that you will still need to unlock the job first before you can receive the EXP.
Equipment
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Different equipment has its own stats, job affinity and special abilities. Equipment can also be enhanced in a few ways. Firstly, you can upgrade the equipment level using Anima Shards. However you can only upgrade to the your current max upgrade level, which can be increased by finding and dismantling equipment.
Secondly, you can upgrade an equipment's effect using materials that can be earned by dismantling other equipment.
Lastly, you can change an equipment effect using materials as well.
New Game+
There isn't a new game+ per se, but there are tons to do in post game after defeating the final boss of the base game. Firstly a new difficulty, CHAOS is unlocked. In this difficulty, you can spend a resource known as "Anima Crystals" to raise the mission level, so that you can earn rarer and more powerful equipment. An "Extra Mode" can also be selected for missions when in CHAOS or higher difficulty. This is basically an easy mode for user having difficulty in progressing the story . In this mode, Jack will permanently be under the effects of "ChaosBringer" with the below effects, but this will put a limitation in the mission rewards. 1. Lightbringer effect always active 2. Break Gauge always full 3. MP always full This essentially makes it the easy mode, because when paired with Knight's 400% job affinity, you will becomes invincible.
In addition, Job's maximum level is increased from 30 to 99, and with DLC it can increased further to 300. While leveling up after level 30, job will no longer earn job points, but instead they will earn a "Master Points" that can be used to enhance Jack's stats and abilities when that particular job is equipped. These points can be easily reset for players to experiment.
Tumblr media
You can also change Jack's appearance to one of your ally's appearance.
Tumblr media
The 3 DLCs will also be playable from here. The first DLC will unlock difficulty BAHAMUT. This difficulty is on top of CHAOS difficulty, allowing you to set rules to make yourself weaker, and the enemies stronger. You will earn Bahamut coins where you can use to purchase items. This DLC will also increase maximum mission level to 400.
The 2nd DLC will unlock difficulty GILGAMESH. This will increase the maximum mission level to 500. It also unlocks an endless dungeon called the Rift.
The 3rd DLC will unlock Lufenia difficulty. In addition, the maximum Job Affinity passive increased from 600% to 800%.
Tumblr media
When it comes to equipment, rarity ARTIFACT & CHAOS also unlocked. ARTIFACT basically have 2 job affinities attached to it, while CHAOS equipment have new passive effect that can trigger depending on the job affinity of that corresponding ULTIMA/EVOCATION effect.
Also, not sure in which DLC, but Summon Blessing is also unlocked. Basically each equipment can now have a summon blessing attached to it, and different summon will increase Jack's base stat. The higher the %, the higher the stat increases. Also, you can equip one primary blessing for a passive effect. You can only choose a blessing that is attached to one of your equipped equipment.
Tumblr media
There are a 3 more jobs available in the DLCs, namely Cyclic Warrior, Summoner and Blue Mage. In addition, each job will now come with 2 classes that you can choose from - Ultima or Evocation.
Tumblr media
Tips:
All job affinity will gain EXP for their specific job even if you dont have the job equipped.
You have a limited storage space. Dismantle equipment you no longer need frequently to free up space while earning materials that will be used to enhance equipment, as well as increasing your max upgrade level.
Note that you can edit and set battle sets for an easier time to switch between different builds. You can also set up an appearance set that will change how the characters look.
When choosing equipment for dismantling, note that you can hold down Y button and press/hold up/down for fast selection
The fastest way to level up your job (before post-game) in my opinion is to continuously farm "The Truth Seeker" side quest. This quest lets you fight against Marilith boss, and if you are strong enough you can complete the quest within a minute. Not only will you gain large amount of EXP from defeating Marilith, you will also get 2 Anima Shards. To properly grind, have one of the 2 jobs equipped to be your strongest build, and the other job to be equipped with the job you want to level up. Make sure the job you want to level up are equipped with job affinity equipment you want to level up as well. Use your stronger build to bring Marilith's health to half, or break bar to zero. Before unleashing Soul Burst, switch to the job you want to level up and perform the Soul Burst. Doing this allow the job you want to level up to net the EXP instead. Repeat this for the second half of the battle and repeat this process over and over again. I managed to max out all my jobs to level 30 within 2 hours with this method.
Post-game can be overwhelming, but I found a post with simple explanation of how to easily tackle it quickly here
My Opinion:
The Good:
As a long time fan of Final Fantasy, but someone who is bad at action game, I like how there is a difficulty setting in this game that you can change at any time, and it doesn't really change the amount of rewards you get.
Each equipment equipped has it's own 3D model that will change how the character looks, definitely a lot of work there!
Isn't Sophia just gorgeous! lol
Tumblr media
The Bad:
No minimap making it hard to navigate on the map.
Framerate tends to drop badly sometimes.
Post game is too overwhelming. It feels like they are adding so many new features into the post-game/DLC because it couldn't be implemented on the base game in time.
The game doesn't fully support widescreen. For example while performing Soul Break, the screen will revert back to usual 16:9 ratio, causing certain UIs to be cut off
Tumblr media
My Playthrough
Played in Story mode difficulty (casual mode disabled) as I am quite bad at action games. Finished the main story, and afterwards completed all quests and side quests at the highest difficulty - LUFENIA. For Rift however I stopped at level 21 which is what is required to progress with the story.
Team Setup
For my playthrough, I am using Jack with Neon and Sophia as I prefer to use ladies over guys XD. That said, Neon and Sophia are also considered one of the better characters compared to the other 2, with Neon as Paladin and Sophia as Sage. In higher difficulty., NPCs die easily so it really doesn't make much difference to me who you bring to the party. For Jack, as someone bad in action game, I do not aim to create the most powerful build (many strong build requires chain canceling and making use of the 2 equipped jobs to swap around, which is indeed very strong but too troublesome for my liking), but a build that is simple to use and will not die. Thus I aim to utilize Knight's Invincible passive at 400% job affinity. This however require Jack to always be in Lightbringer mode. Also taking a hit while this passive is active will reduce Lightbringer gauge, thus we need a solution to allow us to spam Lightbringer whenever it is down.
Tumblr media
Leviathan Blessing - This blessing will increase the MP and MAX MP when using Soul Shield, which can be activated by casting Lightbringer with Cyclic Warrior 600% job affinity
Cyclic Warrior 600% - The 250% passive will always allow you to have minimum MAX MP of 2 bars that is required to cast Lightbringer. Meanwhile 600% will activate soul shield when activating Lightbringer. While this by itself doesnt mean much, it can work with Evoker 120% and Leviathan's blessing.
Summoner 600% - If you equip Leviathan blessing, this will increase the potency of its MP regen effect.
Void Knight 400% - 250% will increase potency of MP regen while 400% will reduce the cost of Lightbringer. 600% here is good as well as it gives you Haste, but not compulsory.
Evoker 120% - Will restore MP with Soul Shield which works with Cyclic Warrior at 600%. It is also good at 400%, as it will restore MP when HP is at max. Since you will be invincible, your HP will always be at max (or with the help of Paladin 250%)
Knight 400% - Required for invincibility
Paladin 400% - Allows you to resist all status effect for extra survivability. 250% here also allows you to regen HP, good to work with Dark Knight's job skill.
Dark Knight 400% - This is mainly to use with Berserker 250% to grant you permanent Shell and Protect, halving any damage dealt to you.
Berserker 250% - This will work together with Dark Knight 400%, allowing you to have permanent Protect and Shell. Note that 400% here is good as well, as it will gradually restores MP while Lightbringer is active. However I do not have enough slots for it.
Note: If you can get an accessory with "Invincible" effect, you can ignore knight 400%.
The way to play this build is simple. Cast "SoulEater" so you will deal higher damage. Then before any fight, cast Lightbringer and always ensure to upkeep it permanently whenever you are in a fight. If you have extra MP, cast "Lunatic", "Mighty Strike" or "Lancet"

in a discord group who recently decided we cant post anthros that are nude even with no bits showing
and now theyve decided we cant say malewife without censoring it because its nsfw
the funniest part? it's an 18+ server. we are all adults in this place ffs
no nips, no butt cracks, no malewives
a sad state of affairs. i am surprised they allow me to exist in this space, considering i am 100% about the butt cracks, the nipples, and the malewives
also apparently some people think only stone femmes can use the term pillow princess. which is funny to me, because i have only ever heard it used in a positive context to describe gay/bi guys who bottom. like a positive version of pillow biter, which is pretty exclusively negative. finding out it originated in lesbian spaces is news to me. everywhere i search online says it did start in lesbian spaces, but that gays can use it too
as a genderqueer bisexual gay-- i dont care about tha rules. gale is my pretty pillow princess malewife and if you dont like that uuhhhh the block button is free lmao
i love learning things, even if all i am learning is damn yall bitches stupid af and cringier than me, the cringe lord.

Like it or not Keath doesn't get to control what other people think about their characters/what art gets made.
They chose to display these things publicly. The only thing they have a right to ask is that the people who draw/write the things they don't like won't send their work to them/tag them in it/that it'll be tagged appropriately so they can filter and block as needed.
They don't get to go full Anne Rice like they did on Twitter and ask people to actually police each other's work and report it to get copyright striked (which btw they have no legal right to do bc fanworks are transformative and fall under fair use).
If they weren't prepared to enforce their boundaries reasonably and legally then they shouldn't have put themselves in the public eye this way.
The fact remains that their discomfort is valid but censorship isn't. Any reaction they have to their emotions has to happen within legal boundaries (not trying to enforce a law that doesn't apply here to avoid potentially seeing something they'll find upsetting) and reasonable expectations.
I mean how are you going to ask thousands of people you don't know not to do something just because if you see it you'll be upset? Where does that end? Do people get to ask e/o not to wear clothes they find upsetting to look at or eat food they find gross in public or can we all admit this is kind of not how being a person works? Learn to curate your own experience and avoid things you don't want to see instead of expecting everyone around you to take responsibility for your emotions. You're not a toddler, Keath, you're a fucking adult and you need to act like it.
I mean I really really hate foot fetishes but I wouldn't try to get them scrubbed from the internet if people made them with my characters- in fact I've accepted that this has almost certainly happened already, and I'd just remember that block buttons were invented for exactly this reason.
Oh and before you even start on the assumptions:
- I haven't even seen the art they're complaining about and probably wouldn't like it myself
- The Chappell thing is another matter entirely and idk why you thought they belonged in the same post/are at all related issues. One is about a woman wanting the freedom to go out in public without being physically assaulted or harassed. The other is about a grown adult getting mad that they willingly posted something publicly in an internet they have presumably known things about already and as a result can't control who sees it or how they react. I mean ffs Keath can eliminate this whole problem by turning off their computer/phone/whatever and whatever they were upset about is gone. Chappell is having psychos call her parents and sexually assault her in public. What sane person thinks those are comparable?
Good lord-
Alright first off I included Chappell Roan because I was specifically thinking about people complaining about her cancelling her appearance at the music festival and being absolute assholes to her despite the fact she doesn't have to perform or share her art with us especially not when we are being assholes
Also
Don't fucking mansplain womens freedom to exist in public to me I am very much AFAB and have been harassed both verbally and physically in school and in public since I was in elementary school
And with Yaelokre
Thats not what censorship is you chronically online fuck stick
Yaelokre making the simple request that people treat them and their creations, which again are a PRIVILEGE for us to see and engage with ourselves, with a bare level minimum of respect is not fucking censorship
Yaelokre is not the fucking government and as you said they can't enforce it beyond blocking people
But they are still allowed to request people not be weird about it and be upset by people making absolutely horrible gross jokes about assaulting their characters
I'm not entirely sure when we decided that saying shit like that was normal and okay and not an absolutely bat shit insane thing to say to ANYONE much less someone you don't know but it IS

"Wealth distribution is a (these days, admittedly, rather wonky) motherfucking BELL CURVE! . The fact that capitalism is driving more and more people to either extreme of said curve is just evidence of a broken system, but it doesn't change the fact that most people should have a decent amount of disposable income!"
This!! But also
"When it comes time to 'eat the rich' you're going to be murdering dentists and librarians and scientists"
Hey, do you know where this exact thing happened that op says there? In countries under communist regimes after WWII. My country, for example. (I'm cutting this but anyone who's up to a bit of history that's not US, feel free to press the button pls.)
They singled out, you guessed it, dentists, librarians, scientists, what's more, doctors, teachers and even authors and other artists ffs, a demographic that's traditionally broke. Everybody in intellectual fields that could be a threat to the new system, to their mindlessly taking a person's life's work and 'redistributing' it to workers and farmers who were maybe struggling more than them - with no regard to demographic differences, and of what a particular job usually calls for in everyday life. Or to the fact that it's not a crime if you can afford a flat that has more rooms than people living in it.
They ended up silencing, forcefully 'reeducating' and terrorising everyone (no matter the color of their collars, but I'm specifically talking about intellectual contributors to society). And paying everyone the SAME wage. Not only paying working class more, really, but paying surgeons and teachers significantly less.
Wanna know where that took us? With a state refusing to do anything in a rational and economically stable way, everyone was struggling. I'm not saying that redistribution of wealth leads to poverty for everyone, but I AM saying that punishing middle class is proven to be worthless in eliminating poverty, or making society more equal.
And riding the high of the new system sure, some people became wealthy who weren't previously, but even they usually did it in a corrupt way that lead to the same unjust model as the system before communism. What it did was make our society rethink everything we knew about classes. And at that time ultra-wealth as we know it today didn't even exist, and definitely not here, after we just suffered through a second world war.
Some of the 'truly harmfully rich' (how do you define that? who's to say if a person falls under that category?) fell victim to the procedure, sure, but some just had more leverage against the dictatorship than the middle-class and merged with the opressors, or fled the country and continued exploiting others in another setting, completely dodging the danger.
(kind of a) TLDR.: What happened after Hungary was made part of the soviet block proved that when told to eat the rich with no other rhyme or reason, people have no idea who "the rich" are. They just start eating their neighbours, the lines become blurry and you have to be in constant fear of wether you're next or not, no matter that you couldn't feed your children for the last week. The danger of a state built on ideology fanning the flames of anti-individualism and -intellecualism becomes very potent and ruins it for everyone, including the ones the changes promised to help (i.e.: working class).
Seeing the notes on posts about the Burning Man Debacle™ and for fucks sake I am taking the phrase 'eat the rich' away from y'all until you can CORRECTLY IDENTIFY the rich
Rich is 'arrived by way of their private jet', is 'dropped $500k on a submarine ticket', is '$500 is a rounding error'.
'$500 dollars for a nine day event they must all be rich white people' no you reactionary rotten potato that is actually an entirely reasonable price for an entirely normal person to pay for an annual event! $500 over the course of a year is approximately equivalent to one big takeout a month! Being able to afford that doesn't make you rich it makes you probably not poor! The 'rich or poor' narrative is a false dichotomy that completely excludes the fact that 'richness' or 'poorness' is a SCALE! It's not fucking categorical! You don't one day magically flip a switch and go from 'poor' to 'rich' or vice versa you see incremental changes over time! Wealth distribution is a (these days, admittedly, rather wonky) motherfucking BELL CURVE! . The fact that capitalism is driving more and more people to either extreme of said curve is just evidence of a broken system, but it doesn't change the fact that most people should have a decent amount of disposable income!
The fact that many people don't have said disposable income doesn't magically make the ones that do 'rich' it makes everyone else poor. And the people at fault for the massive and growing percentage of people living below the poverty line are not the ones managing to stay above it, it's the fault of the actually rich, the ones stealing our time and our health and our wages and our future in pursuit of a number on a screen. And the rich are the only people you're helping by hating the people struggling slightly less than you.
When it comes time to 'eat the rich' you're going to be murdering dentists and librarians and scientists while the actually rich point and laugh from a safe distance as you solve their problems for them.

My Top 10 Game of the Year List
10. Dredge
Tumblr media
Imagine a fishing based game that actually is as fun and immersive as this one but with a horror twist to it. Yes, you fish in this game but there’s more to it, a sinister feeling to it. There’s a minigame involved each time you fish in the vast ocean in this game, its a frogger like game condensed into a circle where you avoid the gaps to retrieve a fish and sometimes get a scary-looking unique fish that looks mutated. Aside from that your inventory plays a role too, it’s reminiscent of Resident Evil 4 where you try to fit pieces whether its fish, valuables or shipwrecked items and try to tetris the whole thing. There’s also upgrades to improve your fishing, your engines to sail faster and implement lights to combat the nighttime. At night, you can catch rare fishes but watch out for evil dwellings that will affect your sanity like Cthlulu like creatures that will wreck your ship.  The music in this game is fantastic, it just fits right in this game and its immersive world.
9. Theatrhythm Final Bar Line
Tumblr media
Do you enjoy listening to Final Fantasy music? Well this game has it all, in fact all FF titles that are currently released are in this game for you to listen to. Theatrhythm is a rhythm-based game that has some RPG essence to it and it’s just plain fun. The game is like this, you must match the corresponding buttons to the rhythmic moves, it's like a rhythmic highway that scrolls to the right and matching it on time nets you a combo chain. The rpg part of it is each FF title that you start when you unlock it, level up your characters each time you complete a song and can learn abilities/spells that will help you during the song level. You get damage each time you don’t match the right controls to the rhythm note highway and it reflects on your score after you finish it.
8. Hitman World of Assassination
youtube
Freelancer mode just hit Hitman 3 and it’s very addicting. Freelancer mode is, it’s not really a rogue-lite but if you fail in killing your syndicate target, especially the leader showdown then you need to do it again back to the first campaign block and at the cost of losing merces which is currency to purchase weapons from vendors in each map.  Each block starts from easy mode to very hard mode, making it four different blocks where you have to kill your targets which are random in each level and escape. To start with advancing your block, each block tier you need to pick what style of combat you prefer from doing melee kills, to sniper and assault weapon kills and so on, each of them are unique and while it isn’t necessary to do them, you can just kill your target anywhere you want, it offers more currency for you do accomplish it that way. The final block is where you confront the leader of the syndicate. Now, here’s where it gets interesting, this part is like you have to find their leader, and it’s not highlighted red based on the description that Diane says whether they’re wearing earrings, a hat or different coloured hair to being a foodie or a bookworm. You really need to observe and stalk each target in total of six possible suspects that one of them is the leader. To do this you have a camera that displays the description of the person you want to eliminate and you need to match it with what they look like and are doing when in a map. Also after you complete each level whether fail or win, you get a supply crate which contains a useful tool that will help you and when you complete a block, you get another big loot crate that gives you a weapon. This mode overall, is just fun and addicting and seriously a great idea from io interactive.
7. Starfield
Tumblr media
The wait is finally over and Starfield is here! The gameplay is mixed with combat like Fallout 4 (without VATs) and space combat and exploration like Freespace 2 and other space combat games. Space exploration kinda feels like Mass Effect and No Man Sky with each system map to explore planets and you can fast travel to other systems and planets. You can commandeer other ships regardless of level and make them your own home ship, provided that you have a higher piloting skill. You can customize your ship to improve the ship's combat. It’s not a Bethesda game without some bugs and there are several.  Persuasion checks are done differently than other games unlike Skyrim, you can turn an entire situation into peaceful means and such. It’s a out of five or more checks depending on the difficulty and you need to accumulate up to five and more to pass the persuasion check. I like that they solved the encumbrance issue by letting you run instead of walking slowly but you still can’t fast travel. Fast travel is improved in this game as now you can fast travel while inside a cave or a installation or inside a building, you can fast travel to different systems and planets.
6. Cyberpunk 2077 - Phantom Liberty
Tumblr media
When this game came out three years ago, I wasn’t interested in it, the game was basically broken and I didn’t get attached to the game with its immersion. Just recently the 2.0 patch came through and fixed and improved the game a bit more. Sure there are still some bugs but this DLC and recent patch enticed me to play. The combat is improved without any issue, choosing an arsenal of different playthroughs to choose from, like from picking a melee loadout or guns, the gameplay is improved since this patch. Night City and with this new DLC, Dogtown has never looked so pretty, the neon lights and graphics impress me and the environment as you dash around the city feels bland at first but gets livelier later on. Sure the driving is still bad, the handling feels less like GTA and more tank controls but it feels like a learning curve to surmount on. The story was at first a hit or miss for me but as it progresses it is more interesting while you interact with a wide arrange of characters and dialogue choices.
5. Resident Evil 4 Remake
Tumblr media
Much like the previous iterations of Resident Evil Remakes, this one is terrific. There are subtle changes between the original and this and its just amazing. For those who don’t know about the story or haven’t played the original, you play as Leon S Kennedy who is trying to rescue Ashley Graham, the president’s daughter in rural Spain where something is afoot. It’s such a blast to replay this version of RE4 just like the Dead Space Remake earlier this year. Granted, solving puzzles in this game seems to be challenging and rewarding in the end. The shooting tends to be kinda challenging at first but it gets better throughout the game with new upgrades from that iconic merchant and new weapons that will help you for your troubles. Unlike the original, Ashley, your companion seems to be much better at not being a nuisance and better yet, there’s no health bar for her either. There’s some babysitting her but it’s not really that hard to make sure she’s safe. From the rural village European towns to a medieval castle and then an army base, these locations you traverse with are still not showing its age and fun to wander in. As a horror game, it’s can be intense from running away from las plagas attacking you to being unarmed and just running away from infected knights who will kill you in one hit. It’s just edge-of-the seat stressful to have parts of the game in a horror-action game.
4. Final Fantasy 16
Tumblr media
As the developer states that this isn’t an JRPG rather an action, hack and slash game proves to be true.  Elements of the combat are fun, its basically a traditional hack and slash with special dominant powers at your disposal. Your character, Clive, who is a dominant, can absorb each eikon’s essence powers at the end, utilizing its ability from key characters throughout the story. Performing mid-air combos and attacks is satisfying especially having a wide range of abilities. It’s cool and breathtaking to see towering summons from other FF games in this one, from Ramuh, Shiva, Ifrit to Odin and such  You clash against rival eikons like those described and it just feels epic in so many levels. The game draws many parallels to Game of Thrones with a Final Fantasy twist, the settings, story and its medieval political aspects to it.
3. Alan Wake II
youtube
Remedy has done it again with the recent release of this game, Alan Wake 2. Like its predecessor, the immersion, atmosphere and story really just sucks you into its world. I don’t remember much of the previous game but there are a few additions to this game and the combat feels a bit better for a change. The use of your flashlight and gun combo to stun your enemies and then whip up your gun to finish them is still satisfying. You first play as FBI agent Saga Anderson who is investigating a string of ritualistic killings by the Cult of the Tree and later finds out that writer, Alan Wake who is missing for ten years suddenly appears near the beginning.  Like Remedy's other games, there are FMV and they are still impressive and interesting to say the least. One of the new features is the investigation mode as FBI agent Saga, you are required to investigate what happen to the killings near Bright Falls, this mode has cases to solve and you need to put pictures and evidence and string it up into a web and there is your intuition mode where you are thinking the killer’s motive and gives you clues where to go to next. The game has jump scares from time to time which can give you stress on your edge of the seat vibes yet not repetitive or annoying at all. Each chapter ends with a song and most notably there’s a chapter all about musicals called “Herald of Darkness” and it is really cool.
2. Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man who Erased His Name
Tumblr media
The Kiryu Kazuma’s saga continues as it picks up three years after Yakuza 6 and runs concurrently to Yakuza: Like a Dragon. The combat is still satisfying and the same but you still can’t deny just smacking someone or wielding a weapon to severely injure someone. Just using your combos to never end fists of fury upon those who opposed you and unleashing deadly moves is the bread and butter of a Yakuza game. Kiryu or Joryu gets some cool moves in this game such as flying drones, a grapple spider hook and a cigarette that blows up, many of them are in your arsenal against your opponents. The story is great once again, as you play Kiryu who is believed to have died at the end of Yakuza 6 to bury the secret of Hiroshima and yet there are people who you fight that know you in the first hour of the game. Yet the game starts off as a bodyguard for an agency that protects the outside from knowing Kiryu’s identity and after your first job has gone bust and an attempted kidnapping, Kiryu must find out who this new threat that looms among him.
Baldur's Gate III
youtube
Running from the Divinity Original SIN 2 engine, one might say this is another Divinity game with Dungeons and Dragons rules with it yet it is. The influence from D&D is apparent in this game, everything is a persuasion check or any other d20 check, you get to roll the dice to beat the dice to check whether it's successful or not. These checks impact the story, dialogue and the whole game as choices and consequences affect it. The dialogue is essential to the storyline, as you could turn a battle with the wrong choices or get out of one if you have been chosen the right one. The combat is styled like DOS, very tactical role-playing, you take turns moving or attacking as indicated on the top bar. The graphics look impressive, the environment and the detailed areas take my breath away. The characters you encounter are very detailed and the writing for them is very D&D like.

My 8bitdo Pro 2 Review - Part 8 (Recorded Video) (w/ my paper dolls) [Mar 22, 2022]
Hello! Here’s Part 8 of my new 8bitdo gamepad, the Pro 2 Bluetooth Gamepad/Controller! 🎮😁
For this part, I'm going to do a button test once again for my current 8bitdo gamepad, only this time w/ the current firmware already installed (v 1.07) from the previous part.
And speaking of, if you haven't seen my Part 7, then please [CLICK ME!].
BTW: Watch my record video first.🎦📲
So, without further ado, let’s get started:
My Experience:
• So far, I enjoyed playing games on different emulators & also PC game(s) (namely GTA V Online) using my new 8bitdo gamepad. Moreover, using D-Pad from Pro 2's gray edition is slowly embraced w/ my left thumb after the departure of my old SN30 Pro+'s G classic edition. Overall, pretty much the same feeling as my old one, but that's v 1.03 firmware. Will the current firmware v 1.07 for the Pro 2 improve my gameplay test? Let's find out in my record video.🙂🎮🖥️
• I'm now at my trusty gamepad-tester website [CLICK ME!] & my Pro 2 gamepad immediately connected via my Ugreen Bluetooth after I press the start button once. That right there is far better ⬆️ over my old SN30 Pro+ gamepad, where I press the start button for about 3 to 5 seconds (as far as I know). Anyways, my Pro 2 is already connected, and so far the face buttons, d-pads & other built-in buttons are all functional as before. The only noticeable changes I've found are the triggers, analog sticks & the turbo function's ring light. Let's bring down the ff:
○ ⬆️ Trigger Buttons: Their now significantly response in the firmware v 1.07 than the v. 1.03. You see, when I go gently pressed either of the two trigger buttons it had a response by a tiny percent, and I tested in GTA V Online during the free roam race when I press gently the car began to move slowly. The same goes for the brake button, I press it very gently & I've seen the red light glows at the vehicle's back.
○ ⬆️ Analog Sticks: Analog sticks, on the other hand, are now optimized, but I noticed that there's a tiny portion of drift when I tap the sticks. Luckily, the tiny drift won't affect my gameplay test, what a relief.
○ ⬆️ Turbo Function's ring light: Finally the turbo function's ring light. When I pressed both the star & B buttons at the same time (or any other buttons), the ring light changes from super-rapid blink to now a slightly slow rapid blink. You know, this is fine, but I prefer the super-rapid blink over the slow one. Otherwise, the turbo function is perfectly fine as usual.
○ (Extra) ⬇️ Start Button: I also noticed that the turn-off button which is the start button is now requiring a longer press than before. For about 5 to 6 seconds? Yeah, I measured it using the stopwatch. Hopefully, the new firmware will fix the longer start button for turning off my Pro 2 gamepad.🔧⚙️
BTW: Both star & back paddle buttons are never present in the gamepad-tester (as always). Somehow, the start button didn't work, because I switch off the shortcut button for XBOX Game Bar which I never use, only for recording anyway. Whereas back paddle buttons, I've never mapped it yet.
My Gameplay test:
• As for my gameplay test, I would say it's significantly improved. I've played all emulator games like Kirby Super Star Ultra (NDS) ⭐, Gran Turismo 1 (PSone) 🚘🚗, Gradius Galaxies (GBA) 🚀, and the aforementioned GTA V Online 🏙️🔫 as well as other emulation games 🎮🖥️. All seem fine without any issues. And as I said, I've slowly embraced the gray edition's D-pad & I'm getting the hang of it. Heck, I even try the turbo function for selected games (namely shoot'em ups) w/ the new slowly rapid blink ring light. Yeah, I prefer the old one though.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
1st & 2nd Image(s) ↑:
• BTW, I forgot to tell ya! This is "Retroarch", my new home for my favorite game emulations! 😁🏠👾 This is basically all in one box. With Retroarch, I could load any games to my heart's content; namely, Nintendo gaming portables (GB, GBC & GBA), Sega Genesis/Mega Drive, Sony PlayStation 1 & 2, and more! Pretty much everything in Retroarch, but to do that, it requires instructions & fetching data game files before you played any games you desire.🙂 And your rewarded was this cool PSP/PS3 inspired theme which pretty cool, in my opinion.😎
• My paper dolls want to play games! But, of course! I'll invest two mini controllers for my paper dolls, someday.😊
If you want more about Retroarch as well as available ports, then please [CLICK ME!].
Overall:
• The v1.07 firmware for my Pro 2 gamepad improves my gaming performance. Although some we're downgraded for start button & rapid blink for the turbo function after updating, so hopefully the next firmware will be addressed two issues I've found. Otherwise, it was a solid promise for my recent 8bitdo Pro 2 gamepad.👌
UPDATE [for Analog Joysticks]: Ummm... About what I said on the tiny portion of joystick drift. Well, I lied & I've seen a little minor problem, but not the majority. You know what, it might be there, but I guess this also should be addressed or waited for another firmware. Right now, I had to think hard on whether should I back to v1.03 by downgrading or maybe not, who knows.😐
Well, that’s all for now. If you haven’t seen my previous parts, then I’ll provide some links down below.↓😉
My 8bitdo Pro 2 controller review:
• Part 1 [Dec 2, 2021]
• Part 2 (Recorded Video) [Dec 4, 2021]

pinn reviews - final fantasy xv
a long ramble about final fantasy fifteen that sort of looks like a review, as written by someone who finished the game fifteen minutes ago and needs to get these words out of his head. spoilers inbound.
i'm a pretty big fan of video games. i don't know what my first was, but it was probably either banjo and kazooie or mario kart 64, at my cousin's house when i was very small. i think that video games as a medium are so interesting, since the fact that video games are inherently interactive changes the way that they tell any story. it's a shame that despite loving video games so much, i'm absolutely terrible at them.
i'm absolute dogshit at video games. whenever i boot up something new, i always play on easy mode because. i'm that bad. unfortunately, this means that a lot of video games are simply. impossible for me to beat. that's fine, as at the moment i live with my good friend lizz, who is certifiably Good at Video Games, and so we've been playing video games together for a little bit now. typically this means that she will actually play the majority of the game while i sit with her and watch, but occasionally i'll have a go, but she'll end up with the controller as soon as a boss fight or puzzle or a mechanic i just can't seem to grasp shows up. we recently played through the entirety of the kingdom hearts series together, and this was an absolute blast of a time. i'm glad to say that i adore kingdom hearts now, and it's become one of my hyperfixations, which you might be able to tell from my icon. but we'd finished the kingdom hearts series, and we were left to move onto something else. we'd also played final fantasy 7 remake, so in my wisdom, i suggested that we play another final fantasy game.
we looked through the ff games that were already purchased on our consoles thanks to lizz's uncle, and eventually, we decided that we should play. all of them. however to start, we were going to play final fantasy xv, 15, and work our way backwards through the mainline, single-player games.
i'd heard that xv wasn't very good, but honestly, i was still quite curious. one person who i'd been following on twitter for years was pretty obsessed with the main party members, to the point where i knew their names and what-not even though i didn't have much of an idea what the game itself was about. i remember watching a video by supereyepatchwolf a few years ago about how the game sucked, but i couldn't remember much of the details, and i knew, based on my obsession with kingdom hearts, that xv had started as a different game called final fantasy versus xiiv. i don't know all the details about versus thirteen, but i do know that it was originally helmed by the creator of my beloved kingdom hearts, mr tetsuya nomura, and that after many years, the vast majority of the game was thrown out, nomura wasn't in charge any more, and the whole thing was rewritten and reworked, which sounds like a fairly rough development cycle. but so what, i don't care about gameplay. i want to play the video game with those cute guys that i see fanart of on twitter, and lizz seemed happy enough to play through it with me.
and so we started final fantasy xv. i've been told that since the game was practically dead on arrival, they threw in a bunch of new content and reworked a lot of the early game before i got my hands on it. so my gameplay started with a scene of the four guys fighting some demon dude on fire and they're all old and grotty. whatever, that cutscene ends and we're put into a combat tutorial. that's over and we're on the road in what looks to be central america, pushing a car.
our four leading lads are noctis, the prince of the lucis empire, his best friend prompto, his bodyguard, gladio, and his chef and other things, ignis. i do quite like the main four members of the party in xv. prompto is quite easily my favourite, voiced by robbie daymond of goro akechi fame and with a bunch of fun little animations and quips that make him very likeable. he gets extremely excited at the idea of riding chocobos and has what i considered the best scene of the game, where he and noctis meet on a motel rooftop and discuss prompto's imposter syndrome, since he's only part of noctis' official retinue as his best friend. noctis is a fairly typical main protagonist, he's in love with a woman he hasn't seen in eight years and needs to go marry her or something, i don't care. gladio is a tough macho man with a mullet who wears leather jackets and wields a greatsword, and is apparently only 22, which is at least 10 years younger than i assumed. ignis is a strategist and chef, who takes on the most authoritative role and constantly tells noctis to not drive his car at night. i was not a fan of ignis at the start, but he grew on me, especially with how hard the game hit me with his personal arc. the four boys are off, driving to noctis' wedding in a different country across the desert when their car breaks down. we then run into the first issue of the game.
cindy is a mechanic. she also has her ass and tits out constantly, like your sleazy uncle's shirt with a naked woman was instead semi-alive as a video game person. she fixes your car and acts fairly sexual and it's just like. why do we have to do this. aren't we over overtly sexualised women in video games who have no reason for the way they dress other than the character designer was horny? whatever, i like women as much as the next guy, but cindy's design just. makes me feel so uncomfortable.
anyways you get to do a little driving around with the boys, until you stay the night before catching the boat to your fiance. overnight, you find out that noctis' kingdom has been basically destroyed by an invading empire called niflheim, and practically everyone noctis knows, including his father, are dead. you learn that noctis and his bride to be are also assumed dead, with noctis hearing his own death announcement on the radio. the game has a bunch of added cutscenes that are actually footage from the three-hour-long prequel movie that came out after the game, are extremely hard to follow and honestly i had no idea what i was looking at. anyways, noctis' family is dead, so it's time to do some hunting sidequests.
that brings us to the combat, i suppose. rather than the turn-based or even active turn-based combat that the series is known for, xv opts for more modern action rpg-styled combat. i was, naturally, terrible at this, but i managed to get around it with the fact that. it is almost impossible to die in this video game, provided you have enough items. the game allows you so much time to heal yourself that there's practically no way to have your entire party wipe unless you're doing absolutely terrible, and even then, your party members will probably try and heal you themselves before that happens. lizz tells me that the combat is boring, you just push the same button over and over and then you win. i do appreciate that, for someone like me who is terrible at reading enemy movements, there is a giant button that pops up on screen that tells you when to push the block button, but even then i was prone to fucking it up. whether that's the bad game design or my terrible gaming abilities is up to you to decide. anyways, the game is fairly easy but has annoying combat, your teammates limit breaks will only land about 50% of the time (or never, if you are gladio) and i was still bad at it, so i didn't have all that much fun.
instead of an active levelling system, the game will only tally your character's level ups when you either make camp or visit a hotel. camping is, in my opinion, the only saving grace of this game. each time you make camp, you get to see the characters doing fun little camping activities together and just hanging out, ignis will cook up a new meal in a dramatic fashion and everyone will compliment him and eat it off their coleman's branded plates, it's just very fun. you also get to see what pictures prompto has taken, which is one of my favourite gameplay features. prompto's passion is photography, and while i support him in this wholeheartedly, his picture taking skills are, quite frankly, awful. the game will randomly take shots while you're on the move, which leaves you with a delightful selection of awkward poses, characters hidden behind bushes, pictures taken while someone is half-dead in combat, and snaps where the natural lighting absolutely makes it impossible to tell what's going on. it's hilarious and going through prompto's collection of photos each night is honestly the best part of the game. we managed to wind up with a few shots that, even despite being scripted events, turned out absolutely terrible, and i will cherish those forever.
anyways, since noctis' father and fiance are dead, that leaves him the king of lucis. the only important person to make it out of the capital alive tells you to drive to the middle of nowhere, where he randomly springs on you. hey. go into a bunch of these dungeons and absorb a bunch of swords, this is your destiny as king and how you will defeat the empire. noctis goes, uh, alright i guess, and you're set loose again to wander around for a bit collecting the 'royal arms'. this plot point wasn't explained well but hey, whatever, we're collecting the glowy swords and that's fine.
you're introduced at some point to ardyn, the main antagonist. he's old, kind of groady and wears a fedora. he's a dick to you and talks about his automobeeel. apparently my friend miri thinks he's hot, she is wrong.
i can't remember what happens specifically but you're told that your fiance is still alive and in fantasy venice, and she's talking to the gods on your behalf to borrow their powers. there's a mission where you follow some purple trees that are electric, and you do that i guess. i enjoyed riding the chocobos around, but couldn't care much for the plot at this point. ardyn leads you to a volcano, where you fight a giant lava god. he tries to step on you and i, a denizen of the internet and with an active fear of foot fetishists, was extremely uncomfortable. noctis becomes friends with foot man and a lightning god who lived in those trees, and ardyn steals your car.
very upset by this, noctis and his gang risk everything to sneak into a military base and steal it back. because this is a video game, this works out fine.
there's a little mining city which is all about Girl Power, because all the Women run the Mining Industry like Girl Bosses, and you hang around there for a bit. because all the women are so Empowered, they wear bikinis all the time with overalls over the top. gladio decides he needs to fuck off for a bit, i have no idea what he does since i haven't played the dlc, and then he comes back with another scar. you hang out with his sixteen year old sister, who has a crush on the engaged and 20-year old noctis, and then you drive her to a lighthouse. when she's in your party, she can't really fight, but she gets a pink chocobo and i thought that was very cute. we turned out own chocobo white and lizz named him 'jones' after a mount she has in ffxiv.
eventually, you have a long boat ride over to fantasy venice. this is the part where the game stops being 'fun with a few issues in combat and a rushed and poorly told story.' the open world, which was a main feature with a bunch of little areas to find where noctis can fish, little hunting sidequests and random photo spots where prompto takes touristy photos, is now gone, and it will not return for the entire rest of the game. you can 'go back in time', but the open world was the most enjoyable part of the game, and it kind of really sucks that the main story doesn't let you have any more freedom like that.
after arriving in fantasy venice, you have a talk with fantasy hillary clinton and beg her to let your girlfriend summon a god into the middle of her city. hillary agrees, and you don't get to meet up with your fiance, because even if the game is constantly telling you how much noctis loves her, there is. barely any interactions between the two in the entire game. from what i can tell, they met when noctis was a child and they haven't seen each other in ten years but are still fantasy dog pen-pals. noctis marrying her was supposed to make an alliance or something like that, but her brother has betrayed her to the army. noctis' girlfriend is also an oracle, which means she can heal people, i guess? everyone talks about how important she is and she's constantly telling people that she needs to use her powers to help noctis but she's practically a non-entity.
as can be expected of most female love interests in a game primarily focused on men, noctis' fiance is killed while summoning a god for noctis to befriend. noct gets very mad about this, and turns super saiyan and kills the god back, but his girlfriend is dead and that's super sad you guys. there's a beautiful prerendered cutscene where she says goodbye to noctis but since we barely know her, and we've only been told over and over that they're in love without anything to actually well, show this, it didn't have much of an impact. fantasy venice is destroyed, and ignis is blinded while trying to help calm the giant raging god.
iggy's blindness and how the game makes you account for this and grow to care for him was one of the highlights, in my opinion, as well as crushingly depressing. while i'm not disabled and have no right to say if this was 'good disabled representation' or anything like that, i believe that the game handles it decently enough. the group falls apart as noctis is upset about his girlfriend, gladio is extremely mad that noctis won't care for ignis, and prompto just wants everyone to get along. there's a mission where gladio constantly yells at you passive aggressive things to noctis about how he's a cunt for running, which is obnoxious, but the character arc itself is fairly strong. when you make camp, ignis can't cook anymore, so everyone eats cup noodles in a depressing ass cutscene. ignis remains in your party for the rest of the game despite his disability, and he doesn't magically regain his sight like other fantasy media would do, which at the very least i think is good. i'm not sure what the opinion of actual disabled people is of the character, considering how often disabled characters are either turned into misery porn to make the abled audience be glad that isn't them and if ignis' arc falls into this trap, but i hope that it wasn't handled too poorly, as that would just be another terrible mark in this game's list of bad moves.
the characters eventually make it to the evil empire's capital, which is abandoned and filled with daemons. the characters learn that ardyn is super evil and taught the king of the empire how to turn humans into daemons, which has now happened to the entire city. the 'magitek suits', presumed to be enchanted armour that fights as the empire's infantry, actually house the souls of the human-turned daemons. honestly i like this as a plot point but the game handles it pretty terribly. there could have been more lead up to this, the explanation is pretty lacking, and prompto's Big Plot Twist is. terribly handled. turns out that prompto was born in the empire and was going to be one of those empty soldier daemons, but he was rescued by people belonging to noctis' empire. not that the game tells you that. instead, prompto goes 'turns out i'm one of ... them' and Does Not Elaborate. The game doesn't tell you shit, not about prompto's past, not about how he feels about this, not about how anyone else feels about this either because the other party members just go 'oh that sucks, good thing you're not evil' and the scene ends. robbie daymond tries so hard to sell these terrible, terrible lines, and it almost entirely fails, i'm so sorry prompto. fortunately because i'm a nosy ass, i read prompto's wikia page and knew the plot twist ahead of time, because i don't think i would have even registered it if i didn't.
anyways everyone in the evil empire is dead and ardyn starts talking about how he's immortal and an ancient king of noctis' country but the gods thought he sucked because he's too evil. i missed most of this because the cats got the zoomies and were dashing across the couch right in the middle of his speech so i can't tell you anything else. noctis tries to get a big magic crystal to fight him and instead. gets schlorped inside.
TEN YEARS LATER
yes then ten years actually pass while noctis is asleep. the game shows this by switching the head on noctis' character model to have a beard, but that's it, no changes in animations or whatever. the sky is permanently night and only one human civilisation remains, the rest destroyed by daemons. as a plot point, this ends up feeling. extremely worthless. why was noctis asleep for ten whole goddamn years? so we can wake up and go 'damn it sucks out here'. but it's barely even a like, incentive to fix everything, because you have a long talk with a former child you were friends with where he talks about how humanity is still going fine and everyone's okay and the world has moved on without you. it feels. pointless. when you meet up with your party members, they are exactly as you left them, only with slightly different character models. there is no change in the voice performance, the character's movements or how they talk to show that they've been without you for ten years. they barely mention it. i'm just. so confused as to why they decided that a ten year timeskip was the way to go? since nothing really changes, couldn't you have made it like, two years? one year? six months?? have the characters react a little more? something??? at least if it was only a year or so i wouldn't have to deal with the fact that noctis looks like norman reedus with his shitty facial hair now.
anyways after that there's a bunch of long and boring boss fights. you fight some dead kings for some reason, your party members get a little bit to talk about how cool they are and how much they love noctis, and then you meet up with ardyn. there's another boring boss fight and god this was only a few hours ago but it's already gone from my head. you summon the gods and the old kings to beat the shit out of him after you both go super saiyan again? there's incredible music but it feels barely earned and just kind of eh. anyways, noctis dies, which was the price of using the crystal of light or whatever the fuck. his ghost marries his fiance's ghost finally, and they smile as they look at one of prompto's pictures. you can pick any picture you want to go here, and then the credits roll, showing all of the pictures you saved of prompto's shots. showing me all the pictures at the end is honestly lovely, but it really only served to remind me of how much more fun the game was in the first half. and that's the end, of final fantasy xv.
so what did i think of the story? it's terribly cobbled together and struggles to get you to feel anything and play out all the plot beats. you feel awful for the countless employees who spent years working on the beautiful cutscenes only to have them be in this game, which sucks and the story barely gets through. there were parts that i enjoyed, mostly the thing about the daemons being people, but honestly the rest of it is a mess. it's hard to follow at the best of times and just awkward and terribly written at the worst. the ending is cheap, and it doesn't feel like you've actually accomplished anything. i left that game feeling numb and empty, sad that i'd wasted so much time to end up with such a colossal failure of a conclusion.
i had fun with the game when it was my four little guys running around doing sidequests and camping together. after the midway point of the game, there's none of that, and you're bogged down into a plot that just pushes you from point a to point b and boring overlong bossfight to boring overlong bossfight. the character moments between your party are a lot of fun, but the second you hit fantasy venice, everything is pretty much on rails and you can't do anything except what the game tells you explicitly to do.
should you play this game? no lol. if anything i've mentioned about the story interests you, you'll be better off watching a lore video or reading the wiki. if you do want to play it after all that, just don't proceed after the myrthril refining quest, it's pretty much all downhill from there. will i play the dlc? unlikely, i think lizz and i will just watch a cutscene movie of those.
this game left me feeling empty and numb and not in a fun way. i wanted, so, so hard to like this game, and it all crashed around me in a beautifully overproduced and confusingly written cascade. i love you prompto, but even your cute little freckly face and terrible photography can't save this trainwreck of a game.
tl;dr - final fantasy xv sucks. i hope that 13, our next ff game, will be better.

Hello frienddddddd!!!!! I miss you soo much I haven’t talked to you that much but I really need your help🥺🥺🥺🥺. Iam new to writing ff’s and all that stuff and I enjoy reading them but I just thought I want to start my own stories and plots and all that stuff, I know it’s going to be hard for me since I’m a beginner bean , can you help me with some tips. I always thought people who writes ff’s use the tumblr app to writhe them but then I realized that tumblr don’t allow that much words so ( I’m dump!) sooo can you like give me suggestions on what is the best app to writing app I should use and also should I use a laptop or my phone to write my own stuff. Also if you have other tips I will appreciate it sooo much, I’ve always been afraid of writing my own ff’s I don’t know why but I was sooo self conscious about and felt nobody would like to read them and like I really wanna start my own work but still I’m afraid of everything, the stress, maybe hate comments, how can I start and other stuff so please if you can help me with this I would owe you my life🥺💜. Damn that was one long essay or something 😂
okay, so first let me say congrats on making the decision to write and post fics! that's a huge step and it's not easy to make, so i'm very happy for you 💕💕💕
second, let me answer your question about where to write. tumblr's posting system and editing system is turrible and writing anything in it sucks. i know some writers use scrivener but i keep it simple and use plain ol' google docs. what i like about the app is that you can access the doc from your desktop or your phone and make edits that transfer between.
it's very hard for me to write on my phone but i can read/review/edit on my phone so that's how i use it.
as far as the nerves and the worries about your fics, i have to say that you will always be a bit nervous. i have to imagine even the biggest, most successful authors on this site think boy i hope people will like this before hitting the post button. but if writing is something you love, something you want to do, then you'll never know how people feel about your writing until you put it out there.
let me finish with your worry about hate comments. i think, overall, there are very few of those on this website. i think the majority of readers see something they don't vibe with and move on, honestly. but i also think that managing hate comments is a lot about how you respond to them. if you give some anons the validation they're looking for, they'll keep going. or more will come.
obviously, this is oversimplifying because some people just get nasty comments totally unsolicited but it's something to think about. i truly believe that for the most part, people on this site are pretty cool. and if they're not, feel free to use that block button because your mental health and happiness comes first.
good luck, sweets. you're gonna feel super accomplished when you put your first story out there. i'm rooting for you 💕💕💕

Virtuoso - A MYG Story
CHAPTER ONE
Tumblr media
ONE
"We've decided to transfer you to the Chattanooga store."
My manager's words felt like a bad breakup. I felt my heart sink in my chest. This transfer, though unexpected and utterly terrifying, was going to be a huge leap in my career.
The music company I worked for was a small, but very well-respected chain in the tri-state area. I was proud to hold a position there, hosting field trips for elementary-aged children, and helping students demo instruments to find the perfect one. It was a rewarding job that I looked forward to every day, and I was eternally grateful for the opportunity. This transfer would have me leading the new field trip program that the company was getting ready to roll out at the other store.
I had worked at Bangtan Band Box, or BB's as the locals called it, for nearly four years. It was a great place to work, and I had watched business really take off over the time I'd been there. Thanks to a recent year-long renovation project at the store, all of the studios were now equipped with gorgeous new digital pianos and state-of-the-art soundproof walls. Everyone was thrilled with the way it turned out. We even had a grand re-opening block party. Of course, without fail, there was always at least one person who still had a complaint about something.
"The sound on these things just isn't the same. The keys don't feel right. It's not a piano..."
Ninety-two year old Jane Young was the sweetest little lady I had ever met. She was probably the only person at this store whose complaints didn't annoy me. We had grown incredibly close over the past few years I'd worked there. She was a sort of relic, being the very first ever piano teacher to teach lessons at BB's original location. Mrs. Young was the childhood piano teacher of the company CEO, and he had insisted on bringing her onboard when he opened up shop over thirty years ago.
"Jane, I completely understand where you're coming from," I said, reaching out to place my hand over hers on the counter, "They really don't feel the same as acoustic pianos, but admittedly they are pretty nice. At least we'll save a few thousand dollars a year on tuning. And I suppose all we can do at this point is just make the best of it, right?" I smiled, hoping to pull her out of her funk. Jane had been through so much over the years, spending nearly every day of the past three decades in this place, and she was not keen on all the sudden changes.
"You really are wise beyond your years, Faye. I suppose I could at least appreciate the new carpet. That iced tea stain from three years ago will certainly not be missed." she chuckled.
There's the Jane I was hoping to see today,  especially  today. Should I tell her? No, not yet.
The Following Monday
"Faye! How've you been?" Jin flashed his familiar warm smile and casually held up a hand in a lazy wave. He was always so soft spoken, but still cracking quiet jokes that had you in stitches. He'd worked at the Chattanooga BB's for a few years and we'd known each other from district meetings. He was still fairly new to being an assistant manager, but seemed to be pretty comfortable in his position.
"A bit nervous about the sudden change, but I'm looking forward to working with you. Glad that you're here on my first day. Makes it a lot easier, that's for sure." I sighed. Despite years of auditions and stressful interviews in my music career, meeting new people was still sometimes a bit stressful for me.
DING!
This store had a very loud door chime, entirely different from the one at my previous store. It was jarring, making me jump. Jin let out a louder laugh than I had ever heard come from him. I suppose being in his own store, he probably felt more at-ease than when he was attending the stuffy district meetings. It was nice to hear him laugh so genuinely.
"Didn't you guys have a bell like that at your store?" he asked, setting down his keys next to the register and taking off his coat.
"Nope. And I startle easily, so this will take some getting used to I bet."
"Hey man!" I heard a booming, but cheerful-sounding voice from somewhere over my shoulder. I turned to see a beautiful man with warm, honey skin walking towards me, his dusty blue sweater and light blue jeans accentuating his perfect tan. He had just walked in through the front door and was sweeping his wind-blown golden brown hair out of his eyes. He had a guitar case slung over his shoulder, covered in happy stickers - rainbow flowers, smiley faces, Korean hearts, and the words HOPE WORLD in big, bubbled letters across the center of the case lid.
He must be a teacher here.
"Hope! Hey, this is our new transfer, Faye Jansen. She just moved here from the Woodland Hills store. Faye, this is Hope." Jin said as he motioned towards the statuesque man in blue who was now standing face to face with me at the counter. Hope flashed me a huge, toothy smile as he carefully dropped his guitar case to the floor next to him and extended his hand to shake mine.
"Pleasure to meet you, Faye. What a nice surprise!" he smiled and squeezed my hand gently, "You can call me Hobi."
Why do I feel a little flustered? Is it warm in here or...?
Nevermind.
"Y-yes. Thank you. The pleasure is all mine. It is wonderful to meet you, Hobi. What instrument do you teach?" I asked, trying to turn the attention away from myself. I had seen the guitar case, so he was obviously a guitar instructor, but I was too flustered to think straight. I wasn't normally shy around anyone, but he was strikingly handsome, in a way I had not seen in real life before, so I almost needed a moment to catch my breath.
He seemed to notice that I was feeling a little flustered, glanced down at the guitar case then back up at me and smiled, seeming a little amused.
"Guitar. I assume you play something as well?" he asked, his fingers fidgeting with the strap of the clear plastic messenger bag slung over his shoulder.
"I studied classical voice in college, but I also play oboe and piano. I did all the demos for the field trips at the Woodland Hills BB's." I was proud of what I did, but I wasn't trying to sound too proud. Musicians can take perceived cockiness to be a huge turn-off.
"Ah, wind instruments. I envy that. I could never get past my initial few trumpet lessons as a kid. I thought I was going to pop a blood vessel in my face!" he laughed, "So instead I break old peoples' hips."
"Oh yeah?" I laughed, "That sounds terrible. Care to elaborate on that?"
"A group of us here have a jazz ensemble. We play shows every Thursday and Saturday. The older folks love to get up and dance. Let's just say that sometimes they dance themselves right into needing a wheelchair the next day. Anyway, we get pretty decent paying gigs at The Yeontan Lounge, playing all the old jazz standards. You should join us sometime. We love having other artists step in. Speaking of, Jin will you be at practice tonight?" Hobi said, suddenly turning towards Jin.
"You're in the ensemble too, Jin? That's amazing. What do you play?" I asked, excited to hear more about the group, and especially excited to hear them play.
"Upright bass. You should sing with us tonight, Faye. I heard you sing karaoke at the company party a few years ago. You sounded great. Are you still performing these days?" Jin asked.
"I haven't performed in quite a few months, but I'm sure I can manage a casual jam session tonight. What song should I prepare for you?" I asked, my disciplined mind already scrambling to come up with the perfect piece for my vocal range.
"Why don't you sing At Last by Etta James? That's a classic. Can't go wrong there." Jin suggested, glancing over at Hope for approval.
Hobi stuck out his lower lip and nodded, raising his eyebrows. He seemed pleased at the song suggestion.
"Hearing a classical singer take on At Last is going to be something special, I bet. Looking forward to it," he said. "See you tonight."
"Likewise," I said, watching him walk towards the hall of studios.
DING!
There's that goddamn door chime again.
Startled at the sound, I clumsily dropped the pen I had been holding against my notebook, and it loudly clinked on the glass countertop.
As I reached to pick it up, embarrassed at my unintended slapstick routine, out of the corner of my eye, I could see someone walking in my direction from the front door.
I looked up, and it was as if time slowed to a crawl. My eyes met the gaze of a tall, slender man with shaggy black hair and smooth, porcelain skin, wearing a button-up denim jacket, skinny jeans, and converse - all black. He didn't stop walking, but our eyes locked until he was out of view.
Instantly, I felt this surge of electricity throughout my body, as if he physically touched me when he walked past me. It was strange... and exhilarating. His deep chocolate eyes had so much fire behind them, they burned straight into my soul.
I had to know his name.

Thank you for reading the first chapter of my book! I'll be updating every Sunday at the very least, but hopefully more frequently than that.
Looking forward to your feedback and suggestions!
This first chapter is dedicated to the lovely 0o_pervy_noona_oO who started me on my Bangtan ff addiction, and inspired me to write my own.
