as research for a gladiator au jaytim fic, i read all of the captive prince books in less than 72 hours. i fear that i was, in fact, the target audience for that series. and that i will need to be very careful not to accidentally write captive prince fanfic in the middle of my jaytim fanfic. OOPSIES

#the intrigue! the mind games! the politics! enemies to lovers! it is a trap. i do not WANT to write long and drawn out political intrigue #i WANT to write gladiator jason and senator tim having the worst situationship ever OCCASIONALLY punctuated by political intrigue #of course. the problem is that before i even KNEW about captive prince i was already cooking something that had the vibes fjdlsjfa #already sketching out some themes that capri also contains and does really well fjdlsaj #and the other problem is that capri contains precisely the kind of humor and focus on emotional tension and character relationships i love #which means it has taken over my brain and now i'm so damen pilled. so laurent pilled #laurent reminds me of tim sometimes and once i first had that thought i knew it was all over for me OTL OTL OTL #anyway if anyone wants to talk about capri with me i'm currently buzzing about it. it's definitely helped me with a scene i'm still writing #it wasn't supposed to be like this. and yet here we are lmao #i'm so mad. i'm so mad that damen was made in a lab for me specifically. i'm so mad
