I really feel like I’m missing the lore on the daisy pin and the lover implications and tbh much about failedcomingoutlor entirely. and i know you are worried about getting crucified by the fandom and I respect that. but omg I am so curious and predictably searching “failedcomingoutlor” in literally any search engine does nothing
okay i’m so bad at responding to asks i’m sorry. (and i’m sorry if you’re reading this and you’re like “hey! you haven’t responded to mine yet!” because you’re right because i get stressed out about asks sometimes but i’m sorry and doing my best!)
i’m gonna speedrun through this and then i can elaborate more if asked!
daisy = kaylor, basically. they went on a trip together and karlie tagged taylor on a photo of a daisy on the dashboard. taylor then said she’s “your daiiiiisyyyyy” and in the rep magazine, drew a lil daisy that is identical to the way the dashboard daisy looked. it’s also in the yntcd mv - someone pointed it out and she liked the post on tumblr. SO, to put the daisy at the grave, saying “i tried” essentially is saying the relationship is dead but she gave it her all (gave you too much?)
it’s easier to see it yourself (the tweet was posted to tumblr and she liked the post there):
Tumblr media Tumblr media
if you believe all this is connected, it gets worse.
SOOOOOOOO.
failedcomingoutlor (known as FCOL for the rest of this post) is a very long thing to explain and i’m giving you the barest bones. so again, ask for details if you want them, they are all carved into my brain.
the idea is that taylor planned for the lover era to be a coming out era. she then did not do that.
there are several reasons why she could’ve changed her mind, but scooter braun taking her masters at the end of june is cited. if this is true ….,,.,, karlie probably sold taylor out to sb. (this is something long i can explain if you’d like)
there are two ideas: she was gonna come out in june and then she was blindsided, OR, she had plans to come out in october
june makes a lot of sense! she was performing at stonewall, there was yntcd and wango tango, me! was full of gay pride, etc etc. there is also The Dress. more on that in a second
the october FCOL theory is almost entirely based on one thing, which is a tweet from a (British?) vogue editor suggesting that their october issue will blow minds and be a wild, unheard of, unpredictable, miraculous, etc etc announcement. later it was revealed that this announcement was just “we put a boy on the front cover.” october theorists think they were covering for taylor cancelling on them
there is also a theory that fans telling taylor not to queerbait made her panic and decide not to come out ever. i was unfortunately at the front and center of that mess and can elaborate if you’d like
so. The Dress. Christian Siriano designed a crazy gay rainbow dress in 2019. it is believed that taylor was going to use it, to come out in it, but then she backed out and it was redesigned to fit Billy Porter, who did end up wearing it
Tumblr media
The issue is that, in tiktoks years later, CS covertly confirmed the gaylor theory. which is 1. wild! cool! until you think about 2. the fact that he was essentially outing FCOL and outing her. thankfully it didn’t get mainstream media attention. he deleted it all
i think that’s it???? feel free to ask about details i promise i’ll remember to reply

The Karma music video is packed with queer and sapphic themes. But what’s with that yellow beret?
We all watched the Karma music video on Friday (or Saturday), right? And then we all watched it ten more times because there IS JUST SO MUCH THERE. Right?!
I can’t even begin to unpack the whole thing yet, but let’s talk about the yellow brick road scene.
Tumblr media
Taylor is obviously wearing ruby slippers (“the rubies that I gave up”) alluding to Dorothy/the Wizard of Oz. But she’s not wearing the rest of Dorothy’s getup. That’s because she’s not Dorothy, but in fact a friend of Dorothy.
Tumblr media
She’s holding a broom (lots of witchy themes from her lately) and blows a kiss of blue (iykyk) glitter to three grim reapers (the two SBs and…?).
She’s keeping her side of the street clean, which harkens to the YNTCD MV where she clearly shows which side of the street she’s on:
Tumblr media
Other things of note: it appears there are daisies embroidered on her collar, as well as growing along the yellow brick road. Her braids are also looped (“your braids make a pattern”).
The yellow brick road itself may be a nod to Elton John and his album/song Goodbye Yellow Brick Road. Here are some of the lyrics from that song, as well as a generally accepted analysis of the lyrics:
Tumblr media
&
Tumblr media
Seems like it would be super relatable to Taylor, right? Add in Elton John’s queerness/coming out journey, and the parallels continue.
There are probably a hundred other things I’m missing just from that scene alone, but what I really wanna talk about is the yellow beret, especially in light of current news surrounding Taylor.
When I saw the yellow beret, I furiously googled “yellow beret” + the names of Taylor’s muses, but I came up empty-handed. Because Taylor is specifically not wearing a Dorothy costume, I knew that fucking hat had to mean something. Then I remembered — isn’t yellow beret a military term? And we know she loves a good war story. To Google I went, and the results did not disappoint.
Tumblr media
During the Vietnam war, all physicians in the US had a mandatory draft order. One of the ways to avoid the draft was to apply for a position with a Public Health Service program called the NIH Associates Training Program. Because the elite program was highly competitive, only a small percentage of doctors were able to serve their required military time without going to war.
Yellow beret was a self-deprecating and derogatory term used by and for doctors who avoided getting a green beret/going to war (yellow can be associated with cowardice, i.e. “yellow-bellied”) via the NIH program.
Sounding familiar? But wait there’s more.
Bob Seger wrote a song in 1966 called The Ballad of the Yellow Beret. It was written as a parody of the song The Ballad of the Green Berets. Here are some of the lyrics (I encourage you to read all of them!):
Verse 1: Fearless cowards of the USA // Bravely here at home they stay // They watch their friends get shipped away // The draft dodgers of the Yellow Beret
Okay, I’m seated.
Verse 3: Men who faint at the sight of blood // Their high-heeled boots weren't meant for mud // The draft board will hear their sob stories today // Only the best win the yellow beret
Oooookay.
Verse 4: Back at home a young wife waits // Her yellow beret has met his fate // He's been drafted for marching in a protest //Leaving her his last request
Are you screaming yet? Just wait.
Verse 5: Put a yellow streak down my son's back // Make sure that he never ever fights back // At his physical have him say he's gay // Have him win the yellow beret
And if that wasn’t enough, two of the last lyrics are “I've got a pimple on my trigger finger” (ew) and “well, we were planning on having children sometime soon” (devastating). These themes also align with The Great War, epiphany, etc.
But despite attempts to diminish their efforts through claims of cowardice, these “yellow beret” physician-scientists contributed to some of the most important and innovative medical research we have today. Dr. Fauci attended the training program, as well as nine others who went on to win Nobel Prizes.
Could it be that Taylor is trying to tell us that, while it looks like she dodged the draft (didn’t come out), she’s doing some important mastermind shit behind the scenes? Only time will tell, but since we are now at “dawn,” I believe daylight is soon to follow. ☀️

Yntcd is the yassified bad blood EXACTLY i cant believe you’re first to say this like its exactly like the #Squad era when she was showing offf what a Cool Girl™️ she is and that she had Cool Friends. I genuinely think she went “how very dare you??” @ todrick thinking she is homophobic and like made the singlehandedly worst mv of all time. I just cant with people who use yntcd as a proof she is gay like honey you have never seen the woo girl in a gay bar and it shows.
The only gay thing about the MV is her plonking that fucking flag on her head like idk why she did that - and don’t tell me it was green at the top because the flag doesn’t appear anywhere else in the video and Todrick liked stuff about it being that flag. The rest of it is 100% woo girl at the gay club who has come there to like “get away from being hit on” lol.

Can you discuss the following points on you Haylor Masterpost? 1) The ME! video is Haylor; 2) The song Adore You is Haylor and directly references the ME! video and the YNTCD video; 3) In the Adore You video, which is a "film," the goldfish is Taylor Swift; 4) the monologue at the beginning of the IKYWT video has direct parallels to Lover and Folklore (kaleidoscope of memories), the Adore You video (burning too bright & Harry's smile), and Exile and OOTW (balancing on breaking branches)?
*cracks knuckles*
1. ME! is Haylor.
Lyrical/Visual Parallels and Insight:
“Living in winter, I am your summer” vs. Harry describing Taylor in Olivia: “summertime, butterflies all belong to your creation”
“I promise that you’ll never find another like me” vs. “Trying to remember how it feels to have a heartbeat”; “You searched the world for something else to make you feel like what we had”; “You showed me colours you know I can’t see with anyone else”
Basically: What they had was intense and exclusive to each other. Won’t find it with anyone else.
“You never get just what you see, but I will never bore you, baby” vs. “I might never be your knight in shining armour, I might never be the one you take home to mother, and I might never be the one who brings you flowers, but I can be the one tonight...I can be the one you love from time to time.”
It’s not a conventional love. It’s a crooked love, and that’s what keeps it interesting.
“Like a rainbow with all of the colours” vs. “Walk in your rainbow paradise”; “You showed me colours you know I can’t see with anyone else”; “The rest of the world was black and white, but we were in screaming colour”
Do I even need to elaborate. Trust your instincts. Yes, this is very Haylor.
The guy in the MV narrative is trying to get Taylor back, and she refuses, except when he brings up the cat. Harry and Taylor got Olivia (her cat) together when they got back into a relationship. Also explains his song title, Olivia. Lots of melting colours in the MV, sort of mirrors leaked Two Ghosts MV, a play off of OOTW.
2. Adore You + ME!
Like I said, the rainbow paradise lyric shifts back to ME!
3. Adore You as a Film + Exile
Adore You is a film. It’s speculated that the fish could symbolize Taylor (see: Lover fishbowl), and him having to let her go. In which case, the lyric “I think I’ve seen this film before and I didn’t like the ending” in Exile would make a lot of sense.
4. IKYWT Monologue Parallels
Tumblr media
1. Kaleidoscope of memories = basically folklore as an album. Reflection.
2. I knew his world moved too fast and burned too bright, maybe he knew that when he saw me vs. this lyric from Golden
Tumblr media
3. His smile in Adore You
Tumblr media
4. Harry loses his balance in the MV. Balancing on breaking branches.
5. After losing the fish in Adore You, he sets out at sea to go find himself. There’s a bit of a narrative at play with Falling, Lights Up, and Adore You. Self discovery, losing a relationship, finding yourself even after losing that person. Taylor could very well, again, be the fish symbolically, as crazy as it sounds, it’s quite logical from a symbolic standpoint.
EDIT:
“Hey! So I am obsessed with the Adore You vid. I think it is his dancing on the hill! Also on the motor bike in Lights UP, AND her in the cabin in candlelight for Cardigan - They are airplanes - arms stretched out zooming around”
and he had the fish in a backpack just like the backpack she had for Olivia i think it was in Miss Americana (think he watched, why wouldnt he) — @haylorsupremecy
Tumblr media
At Sea Adore You x OOTW x Cardigan Connection Reference found by @winestaint-shirt
Tumblr media
If you find anything else, LMK in asks & comments. As always, this is based first and foremost on speculation. Lastly, here’s my Haylor Thoughts Masterpost ;)

okay- here’s some controversy that you probably won’t find valid. I would low-key be mad at Taylor if she married Joe and never came out by like age 70. because the yntcd mv - if she’s straight, that’s not acceptable for her to do, to make herself the center of a narrative that she does not belong in. and so for her to live the entire rest of her life projecting that she’s straight is not OK now that she’s done the yntcd mv. I understand that no one is compelled to come out and that their own safety and comfort comes first, but at this point I’m kind of a little exasperated with her and tired of it all. sorry, i’m mad at me for having this take too, but yeah.
i think someone who does the yntcd and acts like she’s one of us better be one of us. someone who makes themself the center of an lgbt narrative like really does not need to be a straight person imo
BUT we can’t force anyone to come out before they’re ready
it’s a tough line to walk and there’s no black and white right or wrong to this it’s a complex and nuanced situation
i wouldn’t be mad at her for marrying joe since i think she really loves him and i wouldn’t be mad at her for not coming out because well...no one owes us that. like i said it’s complicated.
i do think you’re valid tho!  take a gaylor break if you’re worn out anon we’ll all be here for ya when you get back i don’t want y’all feeling bad over any of this stuff.  when it stops being fun it’s time to step away for a mo.

Make an analysis of Lover and it’s MV. I would especially love to hear your thoughts about the bridge. It’s so heartbreakingly beautiful. 😭🤧
Ok ok. Let’s settle in because I’m going to talk about a lot of stuff in this post.
It’s starts out with the girl sitting on the living room floor of a modest, sort of suburban house on Christmas morning, alone, looking at her new snow globe. Inside the snowglobe is a large house. Taylor said this was inspired by the snow globe mentioned in YAIL, about “her friends” falling in love. Of course I believe YAIL is about when she and KK fell in love. The snow globe metaphor doesn’t really make sense being about anyone else. But it fits kaylor perfectly (VSFS13, and also the glass closet.)
Home is an important theme is this album, especially in this song but I’d also argue that it is what Cornelia St is about. And it’s referenced in INTHAF. Home is a place, but it’s also a feeling. Feels like home. And I think that her person is what feels like home to her. And since they have a secret love, home is the only place they can truly be themselves. Wherever that home is at any given moment.
So having this video for this song, which is the title track of the album and TS has said is her favorite song she’s written, take place in their imaginary home (and a future home with a family) I think is very important.
As we enter the house our first visual is a long zoom into a long hallway full of doors covered in Christmas lights.
Tumblr media
I almost immediately thought of the 1989 tour visuals for IKP:
 https://youtu.be/mfIuMrXxkcI.
Tumblr media
I just reblogged a couple of posts about this tour visual which I think is extremely interesting. To summarize, it represents the surreal nature of the closet. IKP was written in Jan 2014 and I believe it is about how she would approach her new relationship with KK, and the tour visuals would have been created after kissgate. When you watch it, please note the Magritte imagery and the panther wearing a Magritte bowler hat, and that there are no panthers anywhere in this song (KK’s fashion nickname is the panther, and Magritte’s main theme in his art is playing with perceptions and the bowler symbolizes hiding in plain sight.)
Another thing I noticed in this tour visual is the hallway turns upside down toward the end:
Tumblr media
This reminds me of the orange room in the Lover video, which is also a very surreal place.
Ok, so now that we’ve established a link to IKP and that is set in Jan 2014, let’s move into the rest of the video.
We start off with the two of them hanging pictures in the green room. Green represents newness and hanging pictures is symbolic of settling into a new place. In this case, the home represents their early relationship. Next we have them in the surreal orange room, playing games on the ceiling. I’ve mentioned before we have multiple references to them playing games at the start of their relationship. And here they are literally playing games in this upside down, surreal world of the closet. I would also argue that orange girl from the YNTCD MV represents a closeted lesbian who lives in the gaylor park but who doesn’t participate in any of the activities, because she can’t, and she is eating oranges whole, which adds a surrealism to the scene. And of course we have Taylor in orange in the giant cage in the LWYMMD video. So orange=closet. Closet=surreal.
Next we move into the Red room. But first we glimpse the two of them frolicing up the stairs. They are giddy. You can really see the excitement of a new relationship. This is the sort of mood captured in I Think He Knows.
On the wall is a painting of…a fox hunt.
Tumblr media
HANG AWN, is that a IKP reference?
They dance in the red room and TS sings happily on her guitar. The love interest is wearing a yellow tie and pants that matches TS’ yellow dress. The red room is the only room where their clothes don’t match the color of the room. So I think the yellow clothes are an important symbol of happiness (sunshine/golden) and this may indicate that even though they are in the red room, this love isn’t red, or at least not all red. It’s golden.
Tumblr media
And then we cut to a…blue sink?
Tumblr media
What the heck? why would you show a sink? Just a sink. A close up and a long shot of. a. sink. It must mean something. HANG AWN is that a reference to ships sinking? Well not this time! Ha, you see what I did there? So we’ve moved into the blue room, which contains the fishbowl. TS agreed this room represents 1989 era and that the fishbowl represents her lover jumping into her fishbowl life without hesitation. So what we’ve seen so far is the implementation of the plan from IKP (glass closeting, Tree was hired, they are BFFs to the public.)
We continue switching from room to room showing various scenes of domestic bliss. There’s a lot of dancing. Remember TS called KK her favorite person to dance with.
But then, a change. Instead of just the two of them, now there is a party. It’s new years and they’ve invited others into their home. The love interest’s yellow tie has turned orange
Tumblr media
and Taylor seems to get jealous as another woman hits on him. His reassuring smile should calm her jealousy but instead it leads to a fight. I believe this represents them hiding their relationship from the public. Again, orange represents the closet. So someone is hitting on her love right in front of her because no one knows they are together. I don’t think this is an actual New Years Party scene that happened. In fact I think the whole New Years party theme from NYD and here is a metaphor for the party that was the 1989 era. Gazelessstares did a wonderful post about this over a year ago. It’s also a metaphor for how they don’t necessarily get to spend time together at big events like New Years eve anymore, but they get the metaphorical new years day (the quiet, private day that represents the future.)
So they have a fight. This seems to be a big one. Does it represent one fight or an ongoing argument they have about how to handle things? Either way, the middle part of the video shows this difficulty. The love interest tries to reason with her in the bedroom, but TS is not having it. She goes off to be by herself. We see her in every room playing music alone, while her love interest is agonizing over things in the Red room. Finally the love interest joins TS in the attic. She is surprised and happy he joined her, they reconcile and reflect on all their happy times (watching the home movies.) Once again, we have joy in the relationship. This episode solidfies their status and the rest of the video continues with happy domestic scenes in their home, while they are still sometimes seen in the upside down orange room playing PR games.
Finally, we pull out from their rainbow home and come out of the snowglobe and see that the modest home from the opening scene shows the future. They now have a child and are continuing their domestic bliss as a family.
So in summary, I believe this video is telling the chronoglical story of their relationship, from early 2014 to sometime recently, with a lovely glimpse at what they hope for in their future. The brilliant thing about this is that it almost fits just fine with the Toe narrative. This is of course because the Toe narative was designed to mimic kaylor. But one thing I always find fascinating about I Know Places is that she wrote it in the middle of the night and recorded it the next day, with an urgency to make sure it got on the album. In Jan 2014. And yet, she was publicly single at the time. And then when she got into a public relationship more than a year later, she did not follow the advice from IKP. Nor did she for her next public relatioship, 2.5 years after writing IKP. It was only when she was ready to take a break from public life that she got herself a public secret relationship (an oxymoron, but it’s what we have.)
This video makes me so soft.

Lover 6 Months Later
So my university got moved online for the rest of the semester, and they made us all move out. So today I drove 8 hours to NYC and back to pack up my stuff which SUCKED
BUT it gave me time to listen to @taylorswift‘s entire discography, and Lover was especially precious, because it came out the day I drove to NYC for my freshman orientation, so that's what I listened to the day I started, and now ended my freshman year!
I was bored and analyzing every note and also updated my ratings for each song today compared to August!
Lover
IFTYE: 1 star vs 3 stars
CS: 5 stars vs 5 stars
Lover: 4 stars vs 5 stars
The Man: 5 stars vs 4 stars
The Archer: 3 stars vs 5 stars
End beat feels like the ending of a rom-com when they two star-crossed lovers are finally coming together, and their eyes finally meet and the movie’s over but YOU KOW it’ll all work out for them!
ITHK: 5 stars vs 5 stars
MA&THBP: 5 stars vs 5 stars
Heartbeat-esque bass beat reminds me of WD; dreamy, ethereal MV like the Wildest Dreams MV with this song would be INCREDIBLE😍
MV = Story of cheerleader from YBWM; badass bitch who gets political
PR: 5 stars vs 4 stars
Joe’s in all her dreams now, especially the ones in the hidden message from Stay Stay Stay about real love
CSt: 5 stars vs 5 stars
Parallel between drunk in the car for CS and this song; infatuation and terrifying falling feeling v now fully in it and obsessed together
LEGIT on Cornelia Street the day Lover came out bc …I was moving into my dorm, and I saw it and was like omg just like the song, but did not realize it was the ACTUAL street she lived on for months….🙄😂
Repeating the first line from the song at the end almost like she was imagining all that happened in the middle and deciding the fear of never walking Cornelia Street again is worth it, so she mentions the place on Cornelia Street
DBATC: 4 stars vs 5 stars
LB: 3 stars vs 4 stars
SYGB: 5 stars vs 5 stars
Just the most touching thing that the entire Swift family felt comfortable enough with us to give us this song, knowing we’d treasure it
Imagining that this is all one take is even more heartbreaking; especially with the deep breath after the bridge, similar to the deep breath she takes in Ronan
FG: 4 stars vs 5 stars
Going from SYGB to this fucking sax is STARTLING HOLY SHIT lol
Just the definition of SMOOTH AND SILKY AND SEXY. I STAN
YNTCD: 2 stars vs 3 stars
The digs at homophones and online bullies is so perfectly balanced between being super bitchy and sarcastic, but ultimately killing em with kindness
A: 5 stars vs 5 stars
Probably lyrically the best song on the album, and one of her best lyrically PERIODT.
The bridge is like a maturer version of HYTGT; like the “tell me___, tell me___” vs “remind me ______”
ME!: 1 star vs 3 stars
Actually a low key bop... we just hate it because it was a HORRIBLE 1st single choice, bc the album is so much better than a local would think it is if they just listened to ME!
INTHAF: 5 stars vs 4 stars
It’s CUTE and simple, gets wayyyy too much hate!!
This song is actually just this emoji: 🥰
Also the trumpet part and parallel between the snow on the ground when they’re kids vs rice at their wedding looking like snow is 🥰🥰
D: 4 stars vs 4 stars
I will NEVER shut up about the “thinking love was red, but it’s golden” lyric! TOO good, she’s too smart I swear
Just the perfect closing track for this album!!
The ending voice note and final piano keys are daylight with specks of dust PERSONIFIED
Just the most touching thing that the entire Swift family felt comfortable enough with us to give us this song, knowing we’d treasure it
Imagining that this is all one take is even more heartbreaking; especially with the deep breath after the bridge, similar to the deep breath she takes in Ronan

My Swiftie Story - it’s about time you all get to know me ❤
It started with Fearless for me. I got the deluxe album for Christmas and the rest is history. The End
Just kidding. I was 14 when I went to the Fearless Tour as my first concert in Sydney Australia. Mum bought us a ticket, and accidentally bought some kind of VIP package lol. It just meant we got pre-show canapes and a drink and early access to merch, and we had really great seats at side stage! I bought my first Taylor Swift merch; the Fearless T-shirt, brown wrist band and concert program.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I’m 16 now and I don’t know how but I got my learner’s licence. So when I was learning to drive with Mum, Fearless was in the car radio. Every time. Mum had her favourite songs and we’d sing along going for drives that had no purpose other than to get my learning hours up. We’d pick far away cafes to go to and have tea and scones hehe.
Speak Now came out later in the year that I went to the Fearless Tour. I was in year 9 at high school. I had my first boyfriend and liked trying to make Taylor’s songs relate to my relationship. But when we broke up (when he dumped me by text – yep @taylorswift I can relate), I remember posting a status of lyrics from Perfectly Good Heart 😂
I remember being so sad I couldn’t go to the Speak Now Tour because I also really liked Hot Chelle Rae and they were Taylor’s support for the Australian leg of the tour. I don’t remember now why I couldn’t go but I was sad haha
Then RED came out when I was in my second last year of high school. Mum loved the title track and would make me play it multiple times in a row, and I would always jokingly argue because I wanted to hear the whole album. 22 is still one of my anthems! And one of my biggest regrets is not making my own music video to it for my 22nd birthday 😂
The RED tour was right when I had booked my schoolies trip with my friends (in Australia this trip is a tradition for after graduating from high school). We were in Bilinga, Queensland Australia which is near(ish) Brisbane Australia. I was so desperate to go to the RED tour I hatched a plan to spend a day or two getting to Brisbane for the show and back and continuing my schoolies holiday after seeing Taylor. But mum wouldn’t let me because nobody wanted to come with me and she wouldn’t let me go by myself. I was 17 so kinda fair enough (especially being in another state) but also, god damn! This is the tour I’m MOST upset for missing; I love the RED album. Anyway, I’ve been to every tour since RED now so 🤷‍♀️.
When 1989 came out I listened to it in my car driving between mine and my boyfriend’s place basically every time I visited him. This boy became my man and we’re still together, going on 7 years in April next year! 😍❤
I actually WON my 1989 tour tickets from a local radio station!! I couldn’t afford the tickets and nobody understood that every Taylor concert is a new and wonderful experience, so they would say “you’ve already seen her before” 🤦‍♀️
I listened to the radio everywhere I drove (on my licence by myself now btw guys yay) and at home when I was studying. The competition was “Swiftie or 50”. One afternoon I rang like a million times and I GOT THROUGH. The competition was choosing between tickets to the 1989 World Tour or going in the draw for $50,000. And as I’m sure you fellow swifties can relate, I was not being convinced on anything other than the tickets. They played all these promo snippets of things you could do with the money but I was like “no I’m still going to take the tickets” HAHA. My heart rate was through the roof but I GOT THEM AND RAN AROUND THE HOUSE SCREAMING IN EXCITEMENT!! 😁😁 I took mum with me to the tour again since a love of Taylor and her music was something we continued to share. I bought a T-shirt and the concert program again. I wore and still wear this t-shirt to death! Lol
Tumblr media
In 2017 I moved to Melbourne on my own to pursue a degree in osteopathy. I had roommates for the first time in my life and wasn’t sure what they would think of my love for Taylor. But thankfully they embrace it and one of them came along the ride that was Reputation era. Well the release of LWYMMD and everything leading up to the album. We lost our minds (well I did) at the mv for LWYMMD when we put it on the big tv in the lounge room haha. I took my cousin Lauren to the Reputation Stadium Tour tour with me. We saw Taylor in Melbourne and Lauren travelled down and we made a girls weekend out of it. This was the first concert I dressed up for and I freaking loved it. Although we got some looks and questions on the train to the city HAHA!
We had an absolutely amazing time together, memories neither of us will forget, probably my favourite tour so far!! It was also cool to see Charli XCX together again because we saw her in Sydney one time together. Oh and we we’re old enough to have a drink or two 😉🥂
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
That brings me to Lover, at 23 years old and having been with my boyfriend for nearly 7 years. He’s fully aware of my love for Taylor and her music. He was visiting (we are doing this relationship long distance whilst I study in Melbourne) when Me! came out. We were driving somewhere and I got the vid up on YT and listened and watched with my phone connected by Bluetooth to the car while he drive us around. Since then he’s been learning the Taylor songs quicker and messages me when he hears it a thousand times on the radio at work lol. YNTCD shook me in the best way possible, I love every bit of it! Lover (the song) came out and touched me immediately. I can truly relate to the love it conveys and it makes me feel so so nice, I think of my boyfriend all the time, and often when listening to Taylor songs hehe. Lover might even be my favourite track on the album because of these lovey feelings it gives me, and that’s saying something because I struggle to choose favourites. I really really love(r) all of Taylor’s songs!!
Okay if you’re still here, freaking well done and I appreciate you so much! Soz it’s a bit, okay a lot, long!! If you wanna help @taylorswift possibly see this that would be pretty amazing! 💕💕💕
Love, Tara

lover had the potential to be one of taylor's best eras, but it was her worst. me! and you need to calm down shouldn't even be on the album, they don't make any sense with the rest of the songs. the music video of me! was cute but the song was the wrong choice for lead single. the music video of the man is taylor's worst music video, (also the lover mv is boring and just awful) i can't stand it. the single choices are all so bad. cruel summer should have been the lead single, the aesthetic of the album should have been different. i hate the lover photoshoot so much, it's awful. the outfits are so ugly and that photographer did a terrible job. the photographer should have been petra collins and the album had the potential to be visual, if it wasn't for me! and yntcd, these songs are some of taylor's worst. the outfits she worn were all so ugly omg everything was wrong. it's sad because i feel like after 1989 taylor has lost her ability to make good eras (she still makes amazing songs of course) and i miss it so much. i hate the way kanye west and the media in general made her feel and she's not the same artist anymore and it makes me so sad, i just want the old taylor back.
in my opinion the lover era would be way better if it had more organization. the single choices were all over the place, and it’s all about the planification of it. now personally i believe that if those choices were different everyone would be eating up the lover era the same way as the 1989 era specially if one of the singles would’ve turned out to be successful, some people love to make it about charts — taking this opportunity to talk about the 1989 era i think it was the most organized taylor era, many swifties consider it her peak era because of the amount of success she had and if you think about it everything was perfect expect she wasn’t feeling comfortable with herself at that time. the single choices were on point and that boosted the album a lot. i totally get what you mean but the lover era wasn’t THAT bad, it just was deorganized. it takes an album singles, the promotion, aesthetic, organization to build up a perfect structure of an era - the organization takes the biggest part of it all, and lover kind of failed with it. and i agree that it had so much potential but at the end of the day it’s about what makes taylor happy
