Y'know I really feel like Harry and Dave's relationship goes highly unexplored which is a shame because there IS quite a bit to explore, ESPECIALLY if you care about shipping. But as the game stands I mean, they must be aware of each other. Harry in fact definitely knows about Dave. I don't think they kissed. Like i reject the MV making them kiss and for me they didn't kiss. I don't think whether it was 1 or 2 days or a few weeks or a month, that they did anything. Not with the situation, not with their past, etc.

I prefer and think it better, where they don't kiss and where they know there's something, the love is definitely there, but don't act on it, in in a very very... idk. Conventionally romantic explicit way I mean. I'd rather have this realism, like in term of psychology, and this... I don't know. It is terribly romantic* too, whilst realistic. (* wide meaning including artistic/literary movement.).

For me, timebomb is romantic (wide meaning. encompasses the artistic/literary movement) and poetic, and not into stereotypical and conventional romantic gestures. Not yet I mean, for the MU. (one can be romantic/poetic and have conventional romantic gestures yes. Those are not exclusive in general. Depends how it's done and the context.) Because that's how it was made in canon and what fits their story and them for now.

Ofc in the future I wouldn't mind kisses and all. Would more than welcome them actually. It depends how it'll be done, but I would really more than welcome them in the future.

But right now, where they were in s2, it didn't fit. Even with notions of poetry and romanticism and conventional romantic gesture and personal preferences and thoughts aside I mean. It didn't fit. (psychology and characters and relationship developments and story and context etc )

We didn't need a kiss. (I can like kisses, and more, in pre war, in purely fanon exploratory stuff. But purely as a "this is imagination and fun to explore". My mind is open to exploration and fun. It's for what wants to pass as canon that I take issues with.)

If I go further and into more personal territory, it actually bothers me that one was made. I get it, for most people kisses are needed as a show of romantic love. Like I get it.

And i do acknowledge this is partially personal, why it bothers me that well. we got a more stereotypical conventional show of romantic love. But it bothers me. It feels like a "you all want a conventional show of love in the form of a kiss so here!" whether it truly works or not... It's what's expected so it's what is given.

and it does feel like fan service a little.

I don't like that there's a kiss and I don't want it and... whatever pple believe for themseleves, like be free of course (and again, genuinely happy for those that liked it), but it isn't canon. Like objectively it isn't, but again even if it was made canon by riot I would still reject it personally.

to summarize : I don't think that they kiss fits -where they were with their relationships, where they were individually in their development, the context of the story, psychology, etc.- and was even needed as a show or romantic feelings, like that is outside of personal taste and preferences and feelings I mean.

And ... well inside of personal taste and preferences I also do not like it. I do have a preference for romantic -wide meaning- poetic and not conventional romantic gestures but the love is still there everywhere type of dynamics. (which the mme mv did do and do so well and it has inspired and pushed me so much.)

Also, for me, where they where in s2, it is tentative. For me there is a knowledge and acknowledgement of feelings but no action. Things are still tentative, there's still an open wound, or several, plus the war looming over. They can't show overt big reciprocated gesture of affection yet. It is there but it can't flow freely yet.

I mean again, everyone is free etc etc. But bc everyone is free, i say nope. Not for me.

I am not saying it is a bad MV. I am saying not for me and I think it doesn't fit timebomb in canon to have kissed pre war. And I also as a personal preference prefer them to not have kissed.

(and yes, as a more general parenthesis and tangent: I will be picky about content. It's not bc we don't get a lot that we have to settle for anything. I saw this opinion recently and like no. No no no. We can be picky, we can expect, and demand quality. Actually we should. We can be grateful for what we got without being doormats. we should ask for quality, or we won't get it, if we just settle for anything.

wasn’t kidding abt that wildly interconnected fairy tale adaptation w citations btw. rn i’m thinking fairytaleworld is all connected by a magical forest (which is to say forests are all magical and connected) which never has a consistent layout, even if you walk in merely 10 paces and retrace your exact steps, you’re not getting back to where you started. humans can spend their whole lives in the forest and will still only mostly understand how to get around (and those who don’t have no hope whatsoever) but non humans fare better and fairies do especially well. as the forest is so unpredictable, most human travel is done by boat, you only enter the forest if you’re desperate.

once upon a time in this fairytaleworld, there was a beautiful princess who pricked her hand on a spinning wheel, getting a splinter of flax lodged in her finger and falling into a 100 year sleep (sleeping beauty, most variants) until a king came across her seemingly abandoned castle in the woods and decided to look inside, upon which he found her and was so struck by her that he sat by her bedside and took her hand, dislodging the flax in the process which her to wake up (non-rapyness comes from perrault but the flax getting dislodged is from basile’s sun moon and talia), the two talk and eventually begin a secret relationship (perrault) and he visits her regularly for several years despite already being in a (presumably arranged) marriage (sun moon and talia), they have two children (both perrault and sun moon and talia), or more specifically, 2 daughters named snow white and rose red (snow white and rose red), and all is well until eventually, the king is put under a curse that turns him into a bear, w little memory of his human life (in snow white and rose red the bear is an unrelated prince who marries one of the girls but they’re too little for that here), the bear is injured and taken in by the girls the following winter (snow white and rose red) but neither party recognizes the other, and the bear returns to the woods, to make matters worse, the flax, having been dislodged by the king but not removed entirely, is once again jostled and sleeping beauty falls asleep once more and is presumed dead, the two girls left to fend for themselves.

meanwhile, the girls’ stepmother, the queen, asks her magic mirror who is the fairest in the land, and is told it is her stepdaughter, snow white (snow white), the queen, furious abt the adultery and abt the snow white being fairer than her, sends for her, leaving rose red alone. once she has snow white, the queen orders the huntsman to kill her (snow white) and the cook to cook her (sun moon and talia) but neither can bring themselves to do it and release snow white into the woods. snow white ends up wandering until she finds a group of 7 dwarfs who take her in and raise her, her stepmother quickly discovers she’s been lied to by the huntsman and cook and decides to track down and kill snow white herself with a laced bodice she's cursed, said curse beginning to bleed into other clothing pieces in the kingdom, after having laced snow white into the bodice, she presumes her dead even though the dwarfs are able to revive her, and snow white lives in peace for many years, until she reaches adulthood and the queen hears soldiers discussing a girl more beautiful than the queen (snow white, variant from brittany) who lives in the woods w 7 dwarfs. the queen once again tries to kill snow white w a comb, and once again the curse bleeds into more articles of clothing in the kingdom, but she’s revived by the dwarfs again (snow white), and it’s decided upon that she’s no longer safe w them and thus needs to set out on her own. snow white wanders the woods until she comes across a band of robbers known as the merry men*, lead by one robin hood (robin hood) along w her deceptive pet cat (puss in boots) and joins them (snow white, various variants mainly found in southern europe).

meanwhile, rose red is left to grieve her mother alone and is left poor and destitute. a shoemaker’s widow takes pity on her and gives her a pair of shoes made from scraps of red leather (the red shoes). one day, returning from the first attempt on snow white’s life, the queen, her stepmother, passes by and takes pity on her, due to her not being fairer than she is, and only knowing abt snow white being her stepdaughter. the queen takes her in and disposes of her original shoes, giving her a new pair, as rose red grows older she always opts for red shoes, but as time goes on (around the same time as the comb) the strange magic manages to permeate all the clothes produced in the kingdom, and her shoes begin to uncontrollably dance (the red shoes).

meanwhile, an old woman wanted a perfect little child so she asked a witch, who gave her a seed to plant, and from that seed grew a flower, and when that flower blossomed it held inside it not a baby, but a fully formed adult who was no bigger than a thumb, and the old woman gave her the name thumbelina (thumbelina). one day, after an argument over whether thumbelina was a human or a fairy (and her name isn’t thumbelina dammit, she hates being called that), the girl runs away into the forest. while there, she’s taken in first by a toad who’s a chaser, and runs away from him by floating on a lily pad downstream (thumbelina), she ends up drifting out to sea where she finds a mermaid who wishes to be human (the little mermaid), who has recently saved a prince from drowning, and they wish each other luck on their respective transitions, w “thumbelina” picking the new name maia (thumbelina). maia returns to land and is then taken in by a beetle who doesn’t want to be seen w her in public, then by a mole who forces her to detransition and tries to trap her in a marriage to him, but she’s able to escape w the help of a sparrow (thumbelina). the sparrow flies north to the windowsill of real life guy hans christian andersen (once again thumbelina) who lets maia stay with him and tries to come up w fairy things for her to do. eventually real life guy who wrote himself into his stories and is now a real fairy tale character hans christian andersen mentions when he found a prince washed up on the beach and how it seems he's found a new girlfriend now despite swearing to only love the one who saved him. maia connects the dots that the prince hans saved and the prince the mermaid saved are the same prince and decides they have to check it out. when maia reunites w the mermaid she finds out that she made a deal w a sea witch where she traded her voice for legs, but she doesn't get into the details of the agreement, maia finds out that the prince isn't in a relationship w the mermaid bc he's waiting for the one who saved him on the shore (the little mermaid) and rushes to tell hans. as maia spends more time w the once-mermaid she finds out her contract w the sea witch involves her being in excruciating pain a the time, and her impending death the dawn after the prince kisses a true love that isn't her, and maia realizes her friends are Fucked, but that she can be saved by true love's kiss, which will bring her voice back as well. maia starts to try to figure out how to fix this and the once-mermaid reveals that it's already happened and her sisters have made their own deal w the sea witch to save her, but she'd have to kill the prince to save herself, which she refuses to do, so it's her last night alive (the little mermaid). maia tries to think of a way to fix things but she can't and dawn is about to break so she resolves to go w her friend's wishes and kisses her goodbye, but as dawn comes the former-mermaid is fine, and realizes she has her voice back as well bc maia broke the curse.

meanwhile, a girl named rhodopis who has been enslaved by her stepmother and stepsisters learns of a festival held by the royal family of a different kingdom w open admission for anyone to attend (cinderella, too many variants to count) and realizes it's her chance to finally free herself, as she reasons that marrying royalty is her best way out. when her stepmother and stepsisters set out by boat she uses the time to prepare for the festival, planning on taking the quicker, though less reliable, route through the forest, but despite her sewing experience, she hits a wall when it's time to find shoes to match her dress as she's not a cobbler and those are different skillsets. she tries to ponder her situation by her mother's grave when she encounters a very small fairy who thinks rhodopis ought to have a fairy godmother for a situation like this, but since she doesn't, it seems to fall to her to fill the part, plus she's started to like helping ppl out of situations like this. so maia (whose identity you've probably been able to guess by now), figures that considering everything happening w clothes made in that one kingdom (having previously heard abt the red shoes that won't stop dancing bc she knows hans christian andersen and he just knows things ig. at least abt his own stories) decides that no matter how extravagant, anything affected by the curse will surely be cheap bc no one wants a cursed object, and it's rlly just a matter of finding one of the less severe curses. she manages to track down a pair of glass slippers (cendrillon) that will only fit their owner and will injure anyone else who tries to wear them (discovered when their previous owner tried to let a friend borrow them) and gifts them to rhodopis, making her their new owner, and has the swallow rally the local birds, who rlly are loyal to rhodopis (aschenputtel) to guide her through the forest to the festival, and back each day when she has to flee early in order to get home in time for no one to realize she was out. on the final day of the festival rhodopis is desperate to find a way to allow for herself to be tracked down without her stepfamily finding out, remembers a story she used to hear about a slave girl whose shoe was carried away by a bird and brought to a king, who was so fascinated by the occurence that he decided to marry its owner (rhodopis), and knowing that her shoes will not fit on anyone but her, she kicks one off in her escape (cinderella, too many variants to count). the prince she hit it off w starts a search for her, using the shoe to identify her (cinderella, all? variants, i can't think of one that doesn't have the shoe hunt), as he's been able to catch on that she's hiding from someone and thinks publicizing details of her appearance will actually make her harder to find if someone else identifies her before he can. presumably the prince gets involved in some other tales along the way but you know how cinderella ends.

meanwhile, a little princess in a different kingdom is wasting away under the expectations of royalty until her actual fairy godmother decides to visit her, seeing the state she's in, her fairy godmother travels to a toymaker (the toy princess) named gepetto (pinocchio) who specializes in lifelike replicas of people (coppelia), as he longs for a child of his own, and tells him she'll bring all his creations to life if he can create an exact replica of this little girl and fast. each fulfills their end of the bargain and the fairy godmother whisks the princess away to the house of a mere fisherman and leaves the doll, which has been made to have a set of polite answers which it can repeat, in her place (the toy princess), while gepetto has the family he wanted. this ofc, creates a problem when not all of gepetto's creations stayed w him, so now we have another set of magical everyday objects on our hands.

annnd that's all i've gotten so far, the internationally magical forest ofc is designed to make incorporating fairytales from non-european parts of the world easier but so far i've only rlly managed to bring in rhodopis. and obv i've left out some of my european favorites as well like the swan princess, the frog prince and the goose girl since i can't figure out a way to slot them in yet, the twelve dancing princess too but obv they're tied to the magical clothes thing.

'She is so old': One-eyed wolf in Yellowstone defies odds by having 10th litter of pups in 11 years

Wolf 907F recently gave birth to her 10th litter of pups, which researchers say is likely a Yellowstone National Park record.

The alpha female of a Yellowstone gray-wolf pack has defied the odds by having a 10th litter of pups at the age of 11.

The one-eyed wolf elder, named Wolf 907F, gave birth to her latest litter last month, the Cowboy State Daily reported. Gray wolves (Canis lupus) have an average life span of three to four years, so it's rare for them to reach 11, let alone have pups at that age.

Wolf 907F has given birth to pups every year for a decade straight since she became sexually mature, which Kira Cassidy, a research associate at the Yellowstone Wolf Project, said is likely a record for the wolves of Yellowstone National Park.

"Every day, I expect that she might die just because she is so elderly, but I've been thinking that for the last few years, and she keeps going," Cassidy told Live Science.

Cassidy has calculated that only about 1 in 250 wolves in Yellowstone make it to their 11th birthday, with just six recorded examples since wolves were reintroduced to the park in 1995. The oldest of all of these great elders lived to 12.5 years, according to the National Park Service.

Wolf 907F is the oldest wolf to have lived her whole life in the park's Northern Range, where there is more prey but also more competition from other wolves. Wolves rarely die of old age in the wild, and in Yellowstone National Park, the biggest threat is other wolves.

"In a protected place like Yellowstone, their number-one cause of death is when two packs fight with each other," Cassidy said. "That accounts for about half of the mortality."

Wolf 907F is the alpha female of the Junction Butte pack, which has between 10 and 35 members at any given time. Cassidy noted that this is a large pack — the average wolf pack size is about 12 individuals — and that reduces the risk of being killed in territorial fights. Wolf 907F's experience also gives her pack an edge.

"Packs that have elderly wolves are much more successful in those pack-versus-pack conflicts because of the accumulated knowledge and the experience that they bring to that really stressful situation," Cassidy said.

Wolf 907F has likely boosted her pack's survival chances outside of battle, too. Cassidy noted that the Junction Butte pack rarely leaves Yellowstone's border and that Wolf 907F is "savvy" when it comes to things like crossing roads and avoiding humans.

What makes Wolf 907F even more impressive is that she does all of this with only one functioning eye. Researchers aren't sure what happened, but her left eye has been small and sunken since before she turned 4. "You would never know [when] watching her," Cassidy said.

Like other elders, Wolf 907F takes a back seat in hunts now that she's older, and she spends most of her day hanging around with the pack's pups. Cassidy and her colleagues have counted three pups in her current litter, which is smaller than the average litter size of four to five but not surprising. A 2012 study of Yellowstone wolves published in the Journal of Animal Ecology found that litter size declines with age.

"The fact that 907 is still having pups is amazing, and her litter being small is expected given that she is so old," Cassidy said.

A few of Wolf 907F's offspring now lead packs of their own, but most of her pups never reach adulthood due to the perilous nature of being a wolf. However, Wolf 907F and the others in the park don't seem to live like death is on their mind.

"They are happy to be with their family going from day to day," Cassidy said. "Even if they have injuries or are missing an eye or something really stressful is going on in their life, they move through that stress and go back to seemingly really enjoying their life."
