'Less Barking in hood view' mod package contains 36 dog barking & howling resources that I've found in base game Sound/Misc file. Yes, 36 - and that's not even all (!)

Lot background sounds are a mix of base game sfx and a f*ckload of additional, louder barking that comes with Pets EP.

So without Pets you might also hear some distant, quiet barking, but it's sparse. With Pets EP, it gets louder when you move the camera near the lot borders. It seems certain objects also emit barking sounds, like the trash can and mail box (??). It can even be heard in CAS.

Those sounds really bother me, but I don't like to play with background sfx switched off and was looking for a solution. Unfortunately, there's no perfect one :( - most of the Pets Misc resources seem to use SPX1 sound file format and cannot be opened (or at least I have no idea how to open it). Since I wrote this a python script has been released, LazyDuchess shared the re-converted sound resources that can be opened since it's mp3 format. I might go through these ad some point but not in the near future.

2. edited Misc.package is a PETS EP game file with all sounds removed from it. Unlike the mod, this file has custom installation instructions - it goes into your Sims 2 game installation folder /The Sims 2 Pets/TS Data/Res/Sound/

If you replace that file, pets in your game will be silent. Some other sounds related to Pets EP might also be missing.

Base game background sounds like little birds singing, crickets, frogs, owls hooting at night are NOT affected by this mod.

*I've been browsing TS2 sfx resources for a while now, extracted various sounds and replaced some with existing resources ( I haven't managed to replace any with new files tho) - it is probably possible (?) but files need to be in .xa format. MP3 files coded at 32000 Hz /48kbs seem to work.

i've always preferred creating masculine male sims/characters, that hasn't changed throughout the years. i've learned how to take better pictures, how to style my sims better, how to create the kinds of clothes i want to style them in, and i've learned my preferred slider settings and facial features/proportions. i make the same "genre" of male sims over and over and over again, so my style hasn't really changed, but my skills have improved and i've solidified my aesthetic which i am proud of :D

i really can't pick a favourite because there is just so much sheer talent and a thriving cc community even today, but if i had to pick one, i would say rustynail. i used the shit out of their cc back in the day. everything my sims wore was straight off the runway darling... rusty brought glamour and high fashion to the sims! an inspiration.

Hi! I was looking at your merchant mod and was wondering what would happen if you installed it without having university. Will the sims just not animate when restocking or will the whole mod not be functional? Is it possible for you to make an alternate version that doesn't use the uni restocking animations or is there some way I could edit the file so that it doesn't use those animations?

Hi,

Nothing bad will happen if you install this even without uni installed. But because you won't have the restocking animations or the clipboard, your sims will most likely just have a huge white box around them when they should be restocking. But the best way to know what will happen is just to install and try.

Currently you cannot remove this functionality from the mod.

If I ever update this mod I'll try to remember to make a uni-free version of restocking.

If you don't have uni and don't want to get it you could always just use the shop from inventory options in the mod. That feature doesn't use any uni features.

New Trait Selector All sims now have the interaction available on them (even NPCs) called "Change A/B/O status..." This interaction opens up a menu where you can choose if the sim is an alpha, beta, or omega. Any sim can be changed who is teen or older, as long as they aren't pregnant or in heat or rut. This will then change the status of the sim. The Alpha and Omega traits have been migrated out of CAS. Any sims who were previously alphas or omegas will still be with this new version, but will not have an additional trait slot available to them in CAS. Any future alphas or omegas will need to be changed through the new selector. If you change an alpha or omega to be a beta, their pregnancy settings will be reset (i.e. women can become pregnant and men can get others pregnant), but this can be changed in CAS as desired. Alphas and omega have their pregnancy settings determined by Omegaverse, as always. Changing a sim's A/B/O status will automatically flag them as exempt from A/B/O Status Re-assignment, but they can then be unflagged if you wish.

Automatic Assignment When loading into a lot, if a Jamjars Omegaverse Settings.cfg file does not yet exist, it will create a new one, with default settings in it. Settings can be changed by using the Omegaverse Settings interaction on the PC. To find out current settings, go into the menus and choose the Show Settings option, which will create a notification with the current settings values. When changing settings, they will become active until the next lot load, and they will not affect sims who've already been assigned as A/B/O. If you want to change your settings for the first time, load in and use the computer menus, then exit the save without saving and reload so the new settings can kick in. To view all (untranslated) settings, you can use the jj.settings cheat. Any played teens or above will always become betas, irrelevant of which settings file you have in, since you would have set them to be alphas or omegas if you wanted them to be. You can manually change them to alphas or omegas if you wish, however. Played toddlers and childrens will follow the 10A85B05O settings for becoming alphas, betas, and omegas. But the chances of becoming an alpha or an omega are increased for when sims have alpha and omega parents (2.15x chance of alpha for each A/O parent, and 2.65x chance of omega for each A/O parent).

Re-Assignment Through the computer, you can re-assign NPC A/B/O status at any time. This will not affect any sims who've been played or any sims who have been flagged as exempt. The re-assignment will use the A/B/O status settings at the moment of initiation, so if you've just changed any settings, it will respect those changes. A/B/O Status Re-assignment cannot be undone once it is done, so make sure you have flagged any sims you don't want to have their status changing.

Aunt Mai's Clinic Changes Non-Omegas now have access to all treatments which aren't directly related to being Omegas. This includes Pregnancy Termination, Supplement Sickness Treatment, and Child Testing. Sims can only terminate their pregnancies during the first and second trimester of their pregnancy. Child sims can be taken to Aunt Mai's Clinic by their parent (or caregiver) to be tested for their A/B/O status. The tests have ~95% accuracy, so it may sometimes determine the wrong status.

portal 2 project???

portal 2 has an AMAZING narrative. AMAZING. but if you want to rewatch the story... you cant. your two options are to watch let’s plays and randomly skip around to hopefully hear all the dialogue, or to read the quotes on the wiki... which are seperated by character, not scene, and dont give environmental details. this makes it impossible for people who dont want to put in a massive amount of time in to experience the story of the game in one definitive place. so, i propose:

THE PORTAL 2 PROJECT

the end product of this project would be a video, posted to YouTube, that has all of the relevant scenes and dialogue in order. it would play out like a movie, so people who haven't or don't want to play the game can still enjoy and understand the story in its entirety. it would use screen recordings of the game, so you can see whats happening and hear it.

what would be included in the video:

-any moment where there is dialogue (exceptions listed below)

-plot relevant details: for some examples, getting the portal gun, finding a rattman den, introducing a new puzzle element, when cave says that portals can be placed on the moon. (this is to better help people who aren't familiar with the franchise understand what the things they're seeing on the screen are.) (most of these would be short clips: for example, when hard light bridges are introduced, the clip would show chell walking up to it and standing on it, and then the video would move on.)

-major scenes, obviously. an example is when chell falls into the pit or unlocks old aperture.

-small, funny details. (without lingering for too long.) it wouldn’t be portal 2 if you dont show the little details! examples include the borealis dock, the elevator room screens, or when wheatly is monologuing and you can go back and he’ll keep monologuing (”you’re at my mercy! wait- come back! (chell goes back) FOOL! you’re at my mercy, and i dont have any!”

-exploring the enviroment: for example, the screen recorder would stop to look at the awards in old aperture, zoom in on chell’s name for the potato experiment, listen to the optional/hidden cave experiment dialogue, as well as look at old posters and signs that tell you about the dangers of old ap. just so the audience is grounded.

-ive touched on this in other bullet points, but not everyone has the time or willpower to look for the little hidden things in the game. this would make sure that you get a very full, portal 2 experience.

what would NOT be included:

-puzzle solving. some chambers take a few minutes to solve, and there is no dialogue. this interrupts the story. unless the puzzle solving is relevant to the plot, like quickly introducing new mechanics to the audience, it wont be included.

-unimportant dialogue. for example, in the neurotoxin generator area, whealtly will ramble for - i think i lasted 4 or 5 minutes before i left - a while, just trying to convince the neurotoxin generator to shut itself off or something. while entertaining, it takes away from the focus of the project.

an example of the formatting:

i imagine the format to look something like this: (im using chapter 1 as an example)

-full, uncut opening with the wheately escape. the cameraman waits at the door before opening it so you get his full dialogue. ~5 minutes

-chell goes into her old relaxation vault, listens to the announcer, puts a button on the pressure pad, then enters the elevator. this introduces the button/cube mechanic. (this scene comes directly after the last, with no cuts). since there is announcer dialogue and new mechanics, this stays relatively uncut. ~1 minute

-chell exits elevator, hears funny announcer dialogue. the camera looks at the room for 5 seconds so the audience understands the setting for the scene, as well as the act. ~15-20 seconds

-chell presses a button to open a portal. this is the first time a portal is seen. she walks through the portal. this introduces the core mechanic of the game. (~30 seconds) (once the mechanic has been used once or twice, the rest of the puzzle is cut)

that would be the basic format. for things like multiple uneventful test chambers in a row, it would show slow fading shots of the test chamber number so you understand that time is passing. this would be intercut with shots of the setting.

HOW CAN I GET HELP / THIS PROJECT STARTED??

getting all of this footage is too much for one person. editing it... is too much for one person. ALL OF THE FOOTAGE HAS TO COME FROM PEOPLE WORKING ON THIS PROJECT. IT CANT COME FROM OTHER PEOPLES YOUTUBE VIDEOS. For this project, I’ll need people to record the footage, people to help edit the footage, and 1-3 people who know the story well and are willing to go over the game’s plot and determine what scenes and details we need, so the records know what to record and what to focus on. 

Do you want to help capture footage? if so, youll need:

-access to the PC version of the game with LOW LAG gameplay

-a screen recorder program. it CANNOT have a watermark on the finished product. needs to be high resolution footage.

-(the recordings will NOT feature your voice or a face cam.)

-(you do not need mods and please leave the portal gun with its base texture)

-(id be comfortable with each screen recorder person to cover around 1-2 chapters... so maybe 4-5 people, unless i can find more. youd be following some directions on what to record. you do not need to edit, just get the footage.)

Can’t do that? Can you EDIT video footage? you’ll need:

-a video editor. high quality. i dont know the editing industry, i dont know what software exists.

-MUST be able to export it without a watermark and in high quality.

-(each editor will be responsible for a chapter or chapters. then render your final product. one editor will put all of the finished chapters together. this means you can use different software from the other editors, and will have a good amount of control over your assigned part. i dont have a number for how many editors there will be. id like more than one.)

Can’t do that? What about choosing the important scenes and details and acting as a sort of ‘writer’ for the plot? You’ll need:

-a good knowlege of the game and its history and fun facts. if youre obsessed with this game and franchise... yeah same. but as long as youre interested and know it well, thats fine

-be able to browse the wiki

-time to review the game by watching lets plays or playing it yourself

-be able to choose the right details and communicate that to the screen recorders and editors. remember my example about chapter one earlier? youd have to lay it out in a similarly comprehensive way.

-take constructive criticism

-must be older than 14 for this. youve gotta make a lot of decisions in this role. ive seen some really creative and talented high schoolers, so thats where im drawing the age line.

-(im hoping for 1-4 of these people, including myself.)

This story is a masterpiece and deserves to be edited so it is comprehensive and all in one place. No one will claim credit for owning portal 2 or writing the story - the video is showing gameplay, and just so happens to be the relevant gameplay. However, screen capture, editing, and direction credits will be given to everyone who participates. This project will allow you to introduce friends and family to the game without sending them a video where only 5 minutes out of the 1 hour video is relevant. Minecraft Lore: Players

In my last post I wanted to add more about Players, but the post was getting pretty darn long so I decided to move it to a seperate post.

From my previous post, Players are chosen by the Universe to protect and rebuild worlds following their destruction by humans/Herobrine. They have the unique ability to break and place blocks, craft resources, and respawn. The majority of Players are human, but they don’t necessarily have to be. They all share a humanoid shape however, since it’s easier to do things like build or fight when you walk on two legs and have your hands free. As a result, non-humans turned Players will gain slowly gain human features over time. If they play long enough, they can become entirely human.

Players also have the ability to travel through the Void to other worlds. All other creatures are confined to the world they spawned in, but Players may move from world to world if they so wish. A Player might leave a world if they consider it “done”, as in they have done everything they could to rebuilt it, or they may just leave temporarily to visit friends or even a server world.

All Players have the powers listed above, but there are several categories of more empowered Players, listed in order of least powerful to most powerful:

Admins: Admins are Players that are granted additional powers to not only watch over a world, but other Players. They have access to commands and can control most aspects of the natural world. Their powers lie entirely within the limits of the game code however, and cannot perform tasks that require anything beyond a command block. Higher power Admins do exist, though by then their powers tend to overlap with those of Developers. A physical trait most Admins have is a pair of wings that allow them to travel across their servers without the need of an elytra.

Modders: Modders are Players that have decided that the world isn’t interesting enough and go off to make their own rules. Their powers do not come from the Universe, but outside sources. Because there’s such a variety of modded worlds, Modders each have unique powers that correspond to their respective worlds. Their magic is strictly extradimensional and not very compatible with the normal world, which is why it’s rare to see Modders interacting with casual Players. There’s a lot of overlap between Developers and Modders, as Modders are essentially extradimensional Developers.

Developers: Devs are the gods and demigods of the Minecraft world. Mojang is like, the pantheon of gods that directly write the source code of the game, creating Updates and sending them out to the worlds of other Players. They’re not exactly the Universe itself, but rather the people that maintain it and help it grow. Demigod developers are Players not on the official Dev team. They often work with Admins to run servers, or just edit the game to make things easier for other Players (thank you, Optifine team). As the most powerful Players, Developers have an extremely fluid physical form, allowing some to shapeshift and others to just, ascend beyond physical limits.

Some notes:

All types of empowered Players typically have an object through which they can access their respective powers. It’s not the source of their magic persay, but more like an interface that makes it easier to control and fine-tune their powers.

Admins have something that projects Admin screens, Modders and Developers have something that projects whatever program they’re using

A special note about Herobrine: Not all Players have a Herobrine. Herobrines only appear to oppose a Player if there is nothing else to stop them, and it usually requires a glitch to create them. Some Players may be in need of a Herobrine, but the Universe will be unable to create one until a glitch happens. A Player can have any relationship with their Herobrine; most are enemies since they’re literal opposites, others may agree to leave each other alone, and few are even good friends. It all depends on the Player’s personality and interactions with their Herobrine.

❤ How can I interact with this blog? ❤

There are two main ways to interact with this blog:

A message is a question or comment sent from one (or more) character(s) to another. You send messages by using Tumblr’s Ask function.

Messages are always open. The anonymous option for Asks is always on.

An RP is a story written by two (or more) people that involves their characters.

RPs can be started by either sending one person a “prompt” through the Ask function or by creating a post and tagging (or otherwise notifying) the person who is to respond next.

❤ What should I know before sending a message? ❤

Messages from both in-character and out-of-character (i.e. yourself) sources are accepted! Same-muse, OCs, and characters from other fandoms are welcome.

Please do not send messages as main characters from the blog’s own worlds (e.g. Asgore from Repo!tale).

M!As are accepted.

You are allowed to send characters items, but they cannot be world-breaking in any way (e.g. Spacetime Transporter).

If you want to send a comment or question to me (the mod), please do not include it with an in-character message – use the tumblr Messaging feature or send a separate Ask, instead. (In addition, if you want me to respond, please do not use the anonymous option for Asks.)

I reserve the right to pick and choose which Asks to use and when. I also reserve the right to edit anonymous Asks if I deem it necessary.

Ask memes have no time limit! However, if you send in a question from an older meme, please either specify which meme it is or add the question to your ask (for a number-based prompt).

❤ What should I know before starting an RP? ❤

Do not godmode (i.e. take control of someone else’s character without permission).

Ask before adding drama to a plot. I am not against having my characters put in difficult situations, but there are those I would want to agree in advance to (e.g. severe bodily harm). Certain situations will never be accepted; if you have a plot idea and think it is suspect, ask.

No smut. Topics of a sexual nature may arise, but I will not RP sexual activity on this blog.

Do not force relationships of any kind with any of the blog’s characters.

If you want/need to create a secondary character who exists in one of this blog’s worlds, please discuss it with me first. The way these worlds work may be quite different from how you envision them working.

Please be patient! Muse is a fickle thing.

Please use proper English grammar and spelling (or do your best, if English is not your first language). Please try to have at least one paragraph (3-5 sentences) for your responses.
