Taking the bait. Tenna x reader

A/N: Nothing explicit, just a oneshot of the reader being used as a distraction to Tenna cuz he likes them the most. Mentions of the reader being a big collector/fan of vintage and old items, reader is G/N, Reader is also the oldest of them all by like quite a bit (18+ reader basically). Can be seen as platonic and romantic because I suck at writing romantical oneshots without any build up. Chapter 3 spoilers this is set 2/3rd into the chapter. Haven’t written in 2 years so sorry if it is mediocre.

Tenna had gone rampant with the lightners missing. However, ralsei made a small suggestion to the Fun Gang as a way to distract Tenna, as well as get information on why exactly he was trying to stop them from closing the dark fountain. However, you were nominated as their bait to go find the TV host and get info because they believe the CRT has a favourite amongst them.

You internally groaned, following the fluorescent red-carpeted maze of this dark world with the blinking lights of the surrounding TV that portrayed certain imageries besides you. A buzzing noise filled the air from the CRT screens whining, as well as the bright light blinding your vision slightly. Why did you have to be the one to distract him? Sure, it seemed as if he gave you slightly more lenience and ease throughout the challenges, and his mannerism towards you was way less brash as he did with the rest, but surely that’s not all the reasons to send you over to that heaping statue of a show host? I mean- you don’t even know if he’ll listen to you, or even bother indulging in your presence and instead seize the desperate chance to at least catch one of the lightners to use as a gambling pawn. Even with your retaliation, it was decided 3 to 1, the rest agreeing that if you wouldn’t come back in time they’d come after you. I mean, come on! You’re an adult, you should be the one protecting them- but instead those kids are saying they’re going to protect your back! You gulped, placing all of your hopes into their capabilities of backing you up.

Growing up, you’ve always enjoyed older, more vintage appliances and items that gave you that warm, buzzy feeling in your heart. You were never really sure why you had such an appreciation for older things, the things that any regular person would toss away in place for a newer version. Maybe it was because the thought of those items seeing through life more than you, maybe it was the charm that they all had and the little bits and bobs that had defined them (rather than the current minimalistic design choice that most people with a good salary choose), or maybe it’s just because of your background you had always had to rely on things that were either hand-me-downs from family or already used and pre-loved. Either way, it gave you the keen eye of appreciating the little things in older appliances. It also gave you a weird sense of anemoia, imagining how much better life was when it was ‘simpler’.

When you first saw Mr. (Ant) Tenna, you immediately recognised him to be Toriel’s old CRT TV. Well, not recognise- more like notice the details that resembled the TV greatly. You had spent a good deal of your time helping Toriel fix that old artifact, occasionally joining her family for special runs during the holidays as well as accompanying Kris and sometimes even Susie when you offered to babysat Kris for the goat mom. Later into the Dark world, it wasn’t hard to piece the clues together for you to realise that he was, in fact, her TV. Additionally, during your whole adventure you had hoped internally as well that he did not remember the times that you had praised his internal wirings and his model, realising now how embarrassing it’d be if he DID remember. Besides all of that, you quite liked the show host! I mean, who can’t resist his charms? Clearly not you. All of the others found him obnoxious, as well as in many instances desperate and insecure. But who doesn’t get insecure, and hell – sometimes desperate! You were always a sucker for watching reruns of old game shows with TV hosts long retired, further supporting your belief that you have an older soul. Additionally, his usage of neon flashing garments as an outfit was surely a questionable choice! One could mistake it as a satire prop costume that was made as a poke to the people out there who try to become big shots. Finally, the thing that stood out to you the most is his expressiveness in not only his face, but his voice as well. His voice was… indeed obnoxious, you can agree with that. You can also agree that he is absolutely horrendous at reading the room, making you question how fast it’d take (if he was a real show host) until he’d get cancelled on the internet for his insensitivity at times. Despite his voice sounding irritating occasionally, it had heavily reminded you of the same way that old TV show hosts would speak, in that exaggerated over-expressive tone that would grip the attention of the viewers (you also quite liked the old speaker-like effect on his voice that he had, even if it did ring your ears sometimes.)

Your point is that you could appreciate the guy and his efforts. However, what you can’t appreciate is the way he had been acting the moment Susie had given him a piece of her mind. Not only by entrapping you temporarily in big gotchy ball containers that had your claustrophobia at an all times high, but also by basically sending his whole company of workers to find you guys. He even referred to you all as “cheaters”. How rude! Also, the thought of a big/tall, TV – headed, unpredictable and desperate man on the loose trying to catch you all does unnerve you to quite a scale. Anyways, you had a job to do, and you were going to do this job damn right well. As you were prepared to turn the corner, your ears catch onto the familiar noise of that obnoxious charming static voice, not close by but still close enough to be able to hear clearly. Crap, you found him, but the room’s a dead end – it’s either all or nothing.

“What do you MEAN you don’t want to capture the cheaters? Have you forgotten who you work for?”

His filtered voice commanded, the majority of the zappers, pippins and shadowguys below him frozen in fear. As he continued rambling, one of the shadowguys perked up mentioning how he didn’t really want to fight the lightners. The others chimed in, before briefly being shut down by the TV host.

“Hmm… well, from what I remember – you guys are all abided to work with me as per says on THESE contracts! So, unless you want to get fired, you better find those lovely little lightners before they get away- “However, as he continues to talk, his speaking slows down slightly, the rambling coming to a small halt with his hands shuffling documents together.

“…These aren’t your contracts.”

Before he could react, he lifts his head up from the paper and witnesses the massive group of employed enemies leave quickly, and Tenna couldn’t help but drop to his knees and reach out to them.

“W-wait! Come back, don’t go!” before then proceeding to stand up and fix his golden tie, an annoyed expression on his face with fake confidence shining. “Fine, FINE!! I don’t need you anyways! I still have others… like, like mike!! Yeah, he’d never leave!”

You could feel yourself starting to get nervous despite the pumping up you did just a few seconds ago. This is going to be the end of me, you thought. Well, it was now or never. His form slightly shrunk as the others left, staring off in space with his screen dimmer than usual as if he was thinking. You clear your throat, a nervous smile present along with your nervous tone evident in your voice.

“Uhm- Hey man, you alrigh-“ His CRT never whipped around so fast, staring in shock. That speechless shock washed away pretty quickly though, as he took a few steps towards you instantly and attempted to put on his regular TVsona in front of you, smiling with an evident faux-brightness. It was one of those fake smiles you saw on celebrities, who try to maintain their usual persona around fans even outside of cameras.

“[Y/N]!! It surely is a wonderful surprise to see you here. Oh, I knew my favourite contestant would come back and play more rounds! Listen, why not bring over your other slippery lightners and we can go back to how things usually ar-“

“You can cut the act, you know.” Your voice hits harder than it should to Tenna, his smile faltering a smidge with his (you think??) eyebrows furrowing to the response. He stays quiet for a moment as [Y/N] continues speaking, maintaining a defensive stance towards the CRT. The gut inside of you churns at the nervous energy of the room, knowing he could at any moment summon one of those fluorescent gotchy balls and just ruin your plan of interrogation. Nonetheless, persistence was high in you.

“I… I’m not here to play more games Tenna, or indulge in your show. I just-“ Your expression turns to a slightly more worried look, taking a small step forward with your head high up and your eyes landing directly onto his screen. “Tenna, why are you doing this?? There- ugh, there must be a reason. Nobody just does this just because. I’d like to believe that you aren’t being this uh, no offense – desperate, just for the laughs and giggles. Is there something wrong?” The clenching of your jaw did not help the feeling of unsureness in you, not knowing how he’d react to your words. Carefulness is key here. One bad word, one wrong move and this interaction could go majorly against you. You’ve already witnessed some of his mood swings, the way he can easily switch from moping and wallowing to energised and bright. One wrong move, and you’d have to get literal children to save you. Fuck no.

He stands there for a moment, the faltering smile evident on his face. It was clear his circuitry was buzzing with thought. Suddenly, he turns his back towards you, shaking just a little bit before standing still once again. Finally, he speaks, and you swear he shrunk slightly just now??

“… I.. I really don’t want to hurt anybody… I just- I just want to be watched you know…” He pauses before continuing, with his hands going behind his back and fidgeting together as a comfort. “I…I’ve been lonely for a very long time [Y/N]. Nobody wants to watch TV anymore – it’s all about streaming services and apps and social media. No matter if I have an audience or not, it seems as if it’s growing… smaller and smaller by the day. I mean-“ He turns around to face you, scaring you slightly yet your footing returns back to where it was again. He wasn’t planning to attack, or do anything. His body language was enough to get your guard down slightly.

“Look at me [Y/N]!! I’m a CRT! My purpose is to entertain, and if I can’t do that… well, I’ll just be thrown away...” His shoulder slumps, his stature shrinking as he looks down with his dimmer screen. “…forgotten, washed up… I don’t want to be thrown out…” You hesitantly approach him, wanting to comfort him but the lingering reminder that he was kind of the guy you were supposed to be running away from stayed on your mind. Seeing as he doesn’t move from his wallowing, you approach him a bit more before getting close enough to nervously pat his back as a way to comfort him. Thoughts were buzzing in the mind, and you swallowed your nervous energy as you softly spoke to him.

“W-well… um, listen dude. I know how it feels to want to be noticed, and not abandoned. But, let me tell you… you’re a CRT! I mean- there will always be people out there who appreciate you. Even if we have new things like email, or apps, or streaming services, nostalgia is a huge driving force. Even if… if your audience isn’t as big as it used to be, you’ll always have an audience no matter what. And those fans are the real fans who, you know, stick around for you.” A small chuckle escapes your lips, smiling at him a little despite him facing away from you as you continued. “I mean- look at me! I’m a great example. I love old things, they’ve all got this… charm, especially technology. In the reflection of those screens - all I see is a piece of history that was at the time well loved and appreciated for the little knicks and knacks that came with it. And well, I think you’re a great TV host, a great entertainer. You sure have made me laugh and smile a lot whilst I’ve been in this dark world, despite all of the… um, other stuff that happened.”

“…You really think so?” he muttered, looking up at you from his shrunken frame. Your head nodded, patting his shoulder additionally. “TV’s not dead, nobody’s STOPPED loving TV, it’s just… not as popular anymore. And that’s okay!! Not everything lasts forever. Doesn’t mean you’ll get forgotten and thrown out though.”

After a moment of speaking, you were worried that you said something wrong… before your gut flipping from the sudden hug he gives you, his stature having grown slightly larger but still only just a bit bigger than you. Your body visibly flinched, before staying at your position and returning the hug hesitantly. The insides in your body were yelling at you to just get out of there, and that he was just going to guilt-trip you into walking yourself into a trap. However, with the way that he hadn’t made anymore hasty movements, and the small buzz of his screen next to your ear was calming in an odd, nostalgic way. You just patted his back awkwardly, surprised at how heavy he felt despite being much smaller than he usually is. Well, it’s not that surprising considering he’s made primarily out of metal. A couple awkward minutes go by as you just provide him silent comfort to prevent him from losing it, before his droopy antenna’s suddenly perked up, a gasp leaving his mouth and he places his hands on your shoulder in order to bring himself up again. In an instance he grew much bigger, the weight throwing you off slightly but you kept your balance.

“HAHA [Y/N] I GOT IT!!” He barked out happily, looking at you with a big bright smile. Well, that was a switch in mood alright. You looked at him confused and surprised, eyebrows raised and a nervous smile on your agape lips. “…Huh???”

“[Y/N]… My lovely lovely [Y/N]!! You’re a real charmer you know that? A real smooth talker! You and your attention and your charms are the main reason why you’re my STAR contestant!” His antenna’s twitched slightly as his famous smile was on brand. “How about we make a deal together?” You look at him slightly suspicious, raising one of your eyebrows as you replied hesitantly. “Uh, what exac-“

“Alright alright, I won’t take this opportunity to capture you, but in return I need you to at least convince your lightner friends into going back to the game show! Does that sound good? I trust you and your skills to turn their minds around.” He pats my shoulder confidently, fixing his tie with a small smile and patting his suit to flatten out the creases. With fidgety hands and your eyes avoiding his screen, you think for a moment, the CRT’s playful humming filtering out of my mind as he waits for your response. It couldn’t hurt for you right? You could just give a feeble attempt or tell your friends about what the deal is and ask them to pretend as if you DID try to convince them… Well, you never liked lying. It wouldn’t be good if you lied, especially if it meant hurting his feelings. A sigh left your mouth, your hands going to the pockets of your outfit as you gazed on him again with a small smile. “Yeah, alright. I’ll try.”

The TV host lifted his arms up into the air, beaming happily. He was finally back to his usual self, the bright and charismatic Mr. (Ant) Tenna that you knew. “Splendid! Oh I knew I could agree with somebody like you [Y/N]!” Suddenly, you felt his gloved hand usher you, pushing you lightly against your back towards where you first came from, hurryingly urging you to go. “Now hurry! We mustn’t waste anymore time, the watch is ticking!”

“Okay! Okay! I’m going!” You claim, chuckling at his attituded before speed walking quickly to the point of the hallway that made a turn. Before you disappear out of his sight, you look back at him, seeing the TV man looking at you and ushering you to go by waving his hands, before waving back at him and simply telling him : “Take care Tenna.” Your figure disappears from Tenna’s vision, and his figure stands there on the spot for a moment with his hands behind his back. His expression turns to a worry, as one of his gloved hands come up to fidget with his antennae with the lingering thought in his mind being “… Did I make a mistake?”

What was the Knight doing in Chapter 4?

So, I've got an interesting theory about the Knight's motivations over the most recent chapter. At the end of Chapter 3, the Knight kidnaps Undyne and locks her away in the shelter. Then, we see the Knight just kind of standing around a lot in the church dark world waiting for us to get to it. So why was the Knight just kind of lingering around? I think it was waiting for the Fun Gang to leave so that it could transport Asgore to the shelter as well.

After the church service, while gathering clues we can speak to Alvin. There's an option to ask about Asgore for seemingly no reason. Alvin mentions that Asgore usually visits the church at night. With Toriel canceling choir practice due to the rain, this would make Asgore the only person in the church that night.

Why would the Knight take Asgore? For the same reason it took Undyne. He's the most likely candidate to know all the codes for the shelter, as Susie basically deduces after your investigation.

It's likely that the Knight is hiding away those who could help the gang get in the way of its plans.

There's also the hidden segment of the prophecy to consider. "The flower man, trapped in asylum".

If we take asylum at face value, both the church and the shelter would qualify as asylum. It's possible that the Knight opened the fountain to capture Asgore, and he is in reality inside the classic "door a large person could fit inside". Kris can go up to the door and turn the handle, but will refuse to open the door. It would make sense if Kris knew that Asgore was inside. The voice on the phone that calls Kris also says "church...tonight...", meaning it was going to open a dark fountain in the church that night anyway, and Kris was aware of that.

There's even the possibility that Asgore went to the church that night trying to investigate the black shard. In Noelle's house, you can find Asgore talking to himself, saying, "We're almost there, aren't we, old friend? This time for sure… Tori will finally see. …see what really happened. …that I just wanted to… protect everyone… And this time, she'll have to believe me. …they all will. Then… We'll all be a happy family again… won't we? … It sure is beautiful, isn't it…? …this black shard." I believe Asgore is trying to prove something about Dess's disappearance, and he believes the black shard is a valuable clue. It's very possible his search could have led him to the church. Between his own snooping and his ability to unlock the shelter, Asgore is detrimental to whatever the Knight has planned.

What are your predictions for Deltarune Chapters 3-4 ?

Hmmm, let's see...

I think Susie and Ralsei are going to work out very quickly that Kris was the one to create this fountain. Susie's going to brush it off like "Okay yeah I get why you would, it's okay we'll just have fun and seal the fountain when we're done anyway!" and Ralsei will try and act like it's not a problem, when he clearly is bothered by it, and this will start to build up some tension between Ralsei and Kris.

I am open to Toriel being another side party member, less convinced yet that we'll be seeing another adult like Undyne or Napstablook there as well. I do not think we'll be getting a Snowgrave repeat where Toriel is manipulated into killing Undyne or anything like that. If there's a weird route continuation here, it'll be handled very differently.

I don't think we'll be seeing more of the Dreemurr household in the dark world; it'll just be focused on what's on the TV. We've already got a few possibilities for areas: a cooking show, the weather report, and the monster movie, plus we do keep getting hints that the western show may show up in some capacity.

To that end...hopefully a Susiezilla sequence for the monster movie part!

Unsure of what Mike's role will be in here, but I'm anticipating Tenna as the main big bad for this Dark World.

I don't think anyone has guessed the secret boss for chapter three yet, and I don't think anyone will. Thusfar for secret bosses, there's been no hints of them from other places, and you have to go out of your way to find them. Their function as Darkners made from discarded/forgotten objects makes sense in hindsight, but isn't obvious from the get-go. All we know is that we'll need the shadow mantle for a future secret boss, and that that's missing now.

At the end of chapter three, Asriel is going to call on the landline phone and talk to Toriel briefly, but WE won't get to actually communicate with him and it's going to drive me bonkers.

We know less about chapter four, except for some very basic things...Susie and Kris have a few scenes talking out in the light world, and it's raining some of that time. It could either go the direction of an all-light world chapter, or another dark world they explore the next day.

Assuming it's the latter and there's another dark world (which makes more sense to me), I feel the best location options are the hospital, the church, and Asgore's flower shop. If there's a thread started in chapter three getting into more of the Dreemurr family history and Kris's place in it (which does seem to be the case), Asgore's shop seems the best bet to continue that thread next, so I'm going to predict Asgore's shop for chapter four.

Since that's a flower shop and all, a more Alice In Wonderland sort of theming seems likely, with more of a jungle/wild area that the Fun Gang has to explore compared to the city and sound stage areas of previous chapters.

I am expecting Catti (and potentially also Jockington) to be future Dark World partners, and either chapter four or chapter five seems a good option for that.

I think Catti is necessary as a partner 1) because of her occult history with Kris, 2) her focus on protecting Noelle, who I could see showing up in the Dark World again as early as chapter four or five, and 3) her clearly having beef with Susie.

If we're dealing with Kris's family history through chapters 3 and 4, I can see that then going into more of Susie's backstory and whatever is going on with her family. I get the feeling that Catti knows some secret about Susie that makes her dislike her more than just "she stole Jockington's hat once", and that will need to be resolved in conjunction with learning more on Susie's situation.

Every day in-game that big-headed blue bird monster is going to reveal another shelf in the second floor of the library, which will slowly give more worldbuilding lore, and it's going to be maddening just getting those little crumbs of info one at a time.

We'll be getting more Knight hints, but not a real reveal until chapter five.

rambly deltarune posting again this one goes out to everybody who followed me for my old man comic. The oldman newfollowers if you will. and granted this all may be old news or it may be nothing im just having fun on my blog [Chapters 3&4 Spoilers Obviously]

THOUGHTS ON THE DELTA RUNE

friends recently called to my attention the fact that in math, a delta symbolizes change

would make a lotta sense if this is what the games doing with it!

the voice talking to kris in the intro and game over screens (who everybodys calling gaster, and yeah that seems like a safe bet but im not going to put all my eggs. as it were. in one basket) wants to obtain the delta rune. it has some property they want, and i think the property of "change" is very very in line with everything else

Now Consider: The Prophecy. so much of chapter 4 cements that this is in large part a story about stories (hi black sails i love you black sails) and id wager likely inspired by toby foxs own experiences as a storyteller. the prophecy evokes some type of source material, or maybe just an outline, something with fixed points and a fixed trajectory but with plenty of wiggle room in between.

and considering gerson (who is himself an author) basically says all that flat out i dont think i have to justify that part too much more i can move on yes. Okay cool

where i Do think i might differ from most peoples takeaway is i dont quite think gersons saying "you can always change your fate/the ending of the video game deltarune if you simply try hard enough" especially since this games being written by someone who is not us and who has said theres only one ending. we quite literally dont get to decide how it ends! toby fox might pull something but still

when gerson talks about the prophecy he seems to mainly take issue with the *doctrine* of it– forcing oneself to fit into someone elses reading, even when it doesnt apply very well. he talks about interpretation, reading between the lines, picking up yourself where it leaves off. if the prophecy represents a source material, you cant really un-write whats already written, but youre still an active participant every time you bring your own lens to the text. by the same measure, you can take your own approach to the hands life deals you. there isnt one correct way to live.

this hasnt been the game about The Unique Power Of Determination so far; i dont think the solution to whatever quandary lies at the end is just "the gang fights a guy about it and SAVES DELTARUNE"

but then theres *The* delta rune. and if it really does hold the power of change, maybe it COULD let someone in this world use that power. the power to create a whole new story? something like the relationship between this game and undertale? (Or like. fanfiction. with the power of the delta rune we have created 5 thousand new types of sans)

if its gaster who wants it then, thatd be a pretty understandable motivation. i too would want to be a normal living person instead of a disembodied leitmotif

but whats more interesting than the gaster stuff to me is how a lot of other characters, at the moment anyway, seem to *clash* with change rather than desire it. the impulse to keep everything the same way forever is at the same time treated as sympathetic and universal, but also misguided, dangerous and downright impossible.

susie expresses wanting to live the same day over and over after finding friendship in the dark world. carol has put her entire house in literal cryostasis. asgore is desperate to get his family "back to normal" before his son gets home from college even though "normal" Was Not Good For Anybody, and hes making things worse by chasing a return to it!

so. the power of change is not going to be an immediately helpful-seeming force to the main trio, i dont think, and susie in particular will probably struggle with it because for the first time in her life shes found a status quo that makes her happy. god.

fun fact when the chapters dropped and i was first watching people play them, i was at my moms elementary school helping teach her class for the last few days of the year, and one of her students was this girl whod had a hard time in the foster system but she immediately latched onto me and gave me things out of her desk. So watching susies more emotional scenes i did cry

in any case what destination all these pieces are headed towards i can only wait and see. its goign to be so good though i know it is

and in the end. i mean. Literally in the end, all stories have to end sometime. the game cant go on forever like we might want it to, unless we all got together and kept it going ourselves. who knows maybe the real deltarune... was the friends we made along the way

THOUGHTS ABOUT THE SOUL

i talked about my "this soul maybe does not originally belong to kris" thing in the ghost trick post but heres another thing ive been pondering

the lyrics of the song in chapter 3 mention "your heart as my ark". obviously loads of christian imagery in the deltarune mythos but noahs ark specifically was a vessel for escaping one worlds end and being brought into a new one

so we have the delta rune, this thing that (if im right) could Create a whole new world.

And, theres one commonality attached to the heart in both games. right? someone whos traveled from the old world? into the new one?

i think either this is referring to Us having literally come here from undertale, or a character from undertale has hitched a ride on the soul. or both. theres been a really good meshing of the baseline story with the meta aspects so far in a way that you dont have to sacrifice one reading to make sense of the other, so im hoping that keeps up, as hard as i know it probably is to write

I'm clearly very confident in her aboility to stand unupoorted becuse pic 1 in this row is faces to a 2m ravine of unkempt plants and bugs. 💀 The boots help the stability.

Pic 2 - I wanted to make hair that'd work with both Hometown and Dark World outfits so I've not glued it like I think some people do. Colours are DW based, both because I started with something I already I had (I originally actually wanted to make Bea but I did not have yarn for body in the right colour... now I'm not too sure how I will make Bea without them looking like twins haha).

Pic 3 - Included purely because I like how the hair looks and you can actually see that the belt buckle IS heart shaped. IGNORE THE MESS IN THE BACKGROUND IT'S NOT MY ROOM (my room is worse).

Also yes, Bogusia's patterns are quite pricy. I like them, I can afford them, and I will never begdrudge giving cash to a fellow 🇵🇱. Plus it feels so much safer to have something to look up when things go wrong haha. 🫣 If you wanna make your own Susie and are a fairly advanced maker you probably don't need to buy all of the above, and if you've got a question about any specific but I'm happy to try to help - but I will not be posting or sending you a full pattern. :)

I've made major headcanon changes!

Hello everyone. I'm unsure as to how often people in the Kirby fandom change their headcanons to be different from what they used to be, but I've decided to update some of my headcanons.

Some of them are pretty big changes! Different from what I used to think before. I suppose it's just happened as time goes on and I come up with new ideas. I've only been active in this fandom for about a year, which ends up having my mind actively develop ideas over time.

But anyways! Here are some of my major headcanon changes:

-I now headcanon Dark Meta Knight and Shadow Kirby to be friends. Back then, I had them not getting along, but it's changed now. I'm also changing the personality of my Skirby a lot, so I'm now rendering this post to be obsolete. I do however still interpret DMK to not be a good person as he's temperamental and assholish, but now he's slightly more reigned in because Skirby is a friend of his that's able to occasionally keep him in line. Skirby is one of DMK's closest friends alongside Daroach. I'll talk more about these concepts in a later post, but now let's go on to the next big changes down below.

-Shadow Kirby is now effectively added to the Wave 2 friend group. As I have him being friends with DMK, he's also now good friends with the rest of Wave 2.... Daroach, Adeleine and Ribbon. Can elaborate more on this later, but at this point my verse considers Skirby to be an "honorary wave 2er" in a similar way to how Nago, ChuChu and Pitch are "honorary wave 1ers".

-Dark Meta Knight and Flamberge are now friends in my verse. Something I hadn't really done before, but am doing it now. They're distant friends, as DMK is closer to Daroach and Skirby than he is to Flamberge, but these two sword users are sparring pals! They like to beat each other up with their weapons for fun and enrichment. DMK still doesn't do much of anything with the other two mage sisters, though. Zan in particular doesn't really even seem to be a big fan of him.

-Francisca is now the mage sister that Susie is closest to. I used to have Zan Partizanne hold that title, but now it's Francisca. In fact, Zan is actually now the mage that Susie gets along with the LEAST, hahahaha... they're still ultimately friends, but they like to butt heads a whole bunch, as they're basically firm rivals. Francisca on the other hand is a very close buddy to Susie in my headcanons now, she might be Susie's third or even second closest friend. I can elaborate more about this in a later post!

I still have Zan being the mage sister that Taranza is closest to, and Flamberge being the mage sister that Magolor is closest to. Now I've got a perfect double-trifecta with now having Francisca be the mage sister that Susie is closest to!

-King Dedede is now a big Marx hater. I suppose this one might not be as drastic of a change as some of the others, though? I say this because I already had Dedede not liking Marx, but now it's turned up a notch. Dedede is legitimately ticked off about being a top favorite prank target for Marx, as it threatens his reputation and he also clearly doesn't appreciate Marx for additionally messing with his waddle dees a lot. If you asked my verse's Dedede who is his least favorite fellow dream friend, it's absolutely Marx. But don't worry about the jester too much, because it gets better for him in the next big change down below. Consider it an exchange of haters.

-I'm now all in favor of Wave 3 + Marx being a friend group. This is a big change from what I used to headcanon, I would say. I've ALWAYS had Magolor be pals with Marx, but back then I used to talk a lot about how I interpreted both Taranza and Susie hating him. That has now changed. I'm now doing a 180 and considering them to be friends with Marx. They'll still "butt heads" with him as they both have cain instinct relationships with him, but ultimately Taranza and Susie are now friends with Marx in my verse. Congrats to my Marx for being friends with them now, congrats to my Magolor for now having his three besties get along! I'd be more than glad to elaborate on this in later posts as I can talk more about Marx's individual dynamics with Susie and Taranza, but yeah I'm now on the train of having these 4 lunatics be a friend group. I guess we can call the group the "Magogang" because I bet Magolor would want to call it that.

Even though the "Marx and Taranza ought to bite each other" and "Marx and Susie would get into arguments about clockwork stars" posts I did a while back are still very much plausible to happen in my verse. Like I said: cain instinct is what the jester has going on with those two! He's still a devious little shit even when he's friends with someone. Top kek.

It's like Dedede is simultaneously taking Taranza's and Susie's places for being a big Marx hater. Lol. Still a net positive for the jester though, he's losing 2 haters and gaining 1 hater from someone that already didn't like him before. He'll take it!

-Wave 1 + Magolor also now exists in my verse, to go along with Wave 3 + Marx. This one might not be such a huge change because I already had Magolor getting along with Gooey and the animal friends, but now he's closer friends with them than he was before. And that's in no small part thanks to Marx. I still have Marx being pals with the rest of Wave 1, and now Magolor is too! Gooey and the animal friends get to experience the fun of the chaos duo. Magolor and Marx, being the besties they are, are interactive with each other's respective dream friend waves! Magolor interacts with Marx's buds in Wave 1 while Marx interacts with Magolor's buds in Wave 3. This technically makes a connection between Wave 1 and Wave 3. Even though Taranza and Susie still aren't very interactive with Gooey and the animal friends, they're all the extended friends of Magolor and Marx.

Not to do Wave 2 dirty. At least I've given them Shadow Kirby to add to their group. And I mean, Adeleine and Ribbon are good buddies with the animal friends and Gooey, so there's some connection between those two waves there. Daroach is, additionally, decent friends with Rick, Kine, Coo, Marx and Magolor.

-I am now planning to introduce individuals of Helper species, such as a Chilly and a Vividria. This is something I need to expand on more, but I'm planning to have a Chilly individual be a friend of Magolor's to reference Magochilly. LMAO. I don't actually ship Magochilly but the idea here is to have a Chilly individual be hanging out with Magolor and Marx inside their 3 AM slumber parties in the Lor Starcutter. And I'm thinking up a Vividria individual that's a big fan of Susie as she has designed a goddess statue based on her, the one you see in Star Allies. Will converse more on these ideas later!

Those are all the big changes I've made, more or less!

And if you might be wondering, I'll update my google doc of Kirby dynamics at some point. Before the end of the month, I'll rework it to be in compliance with my updated headcanons and I'll reblog that original post to remind you all when it's updated as I'll update the google doc at the time.

That won't stop me from elaborating more on the updated concepts above in tumblr posts beforehand, though! After all, the google doc merely just summarizes dynamics, I can go into much greater detail in tumblr posts! Feel free to ask away in my inbox what you're curious about in any of these concepts.

A lot of the headcanons I've had before these updates are still the same, so this doesn't invalidate ALL my headcanon posts before this. It's not that simple. If you need more specific clarification, feel free to ask me.

the mother we share is a song i relate to the entire au as a whole, actually...at first it was just noelle&kris but the more i listened to it the more i was like. wait if i use 'mother' as a metaphor for a few different but similar things that all contribute to the same main theme this STILL works. like we have the idea of parents (kris with dess; noelle with her mom, toriel, asriel; susie and whatever the hell im putting her through but she for SURE has a really messy relationship w her dad) but we ALSO have the prophecy which ties into this same idea--of like, what youre supposed to be, what people expect from and want of you, vs who you actually are. which means ralsei gets included too! (the prophecy is basically the worlds shittiest parent if you think about it) basically this song is such a banger i might steal a line from it for the title lol...

for specific characters, real love song is the MOST kris about dess song ever like the lines 'can i sing this to you / got a thing about you / and it wont go away / it wont go away' is SO kris and this complex they have around dess and wanting her to be their mother cause thats all theyve known but. dess will never be able to give that to them even though she does genuinely care for them. just...never in that way.

i think strawberry blond is really fun for ralsei about susie/noelle, especially the line 'all ive ever wanted is a life in your shape' as it ties into ralsei's views on how, since theyre lightners, susie and noelle get to choose who they want to be--but ralsei wont ever get that. also ralsei does a LOT of pining she believes couldnt ever be requited.

while not 100% accurate me and chara (my headmate) both agree that my love is sick for SURE captures desschara vibes. not to this extreme, but like. the vibes are there. specifically this would be chara about dess.

and finally, the song say anything has always been a big one for the way i see noelle in this au....it just has. idk how to describe it this sort of yearning for something Different, for being this more independent and self-assured sort of person, but that all being subdued under the weight of your family. drk noelle i love you you truly deal with so much <3

DELTARUNE Ch 3 AND 4 [[[SPOILERS]]]

I have finished both chapters (I guess?) and have seen one ending so far and I just want to discuss the lore a bit / some predictions

DO NOT PROCEED IF YOU WANT TO AVOID SPOILERS!!!

Overall I really loved both chapters. Chapter 3 was really fun, the only criticism I have is that Tenna, while a very imaginative character (him doing a Mickey Mouse pose while the Knight sliced his arms off had me dead), kind of felt a biiiit forced as like "the new Spamton" which I think is what Toby was clearly going for, but in a self-aware way. I liked the focus on nostalgia and the retro gaming stuff / analog horror with a touch of vaporwave remixes in the soundtrack. Very cool.

Chapter 4 of course was the lore-heavy one. What we've basically learned is that Noelle had a sister at one point, Ms. Holiday is probably the Roaring Knight (I also heard a theory it might be the sister, which is plausible but I still think it's Carol based on her behavior), Ms. Holiday does NOT like the Susie/Noelle pairing (homophobic... damn), Gerson has something to do with Undyne and also Undyne was kidnapped by the Knight into the bunker, and Sans fucked our mom.

Asgore also seems to be planning... something.

My predictions include that Ralsei is Kris' idea of Asriel (all of the Darkeners were confirmed to be objects in the real world, so I bet Ralsei is something of Asriel's) or maybe Ralsei is just Asriel. Gerson may not be an object, but a memory of a real guy, so perhaps it's the same with Asriel.

I was disturbed by the lack of Berdly.

The final prophecy... I mean, it has to be that Noelle has to be sacrificed to save the world, isn't it? The prophecy seemed very focused on Susie's love in particular (though that may because she created the Dark Fountain that we were in when the Susie prophecies started popping up everywhere about that). Surely everything is tied to the Roaring Knight being Noelle's mother or sister, and Noelle needing to be sacrificed or stopped (perhaps due to her enormous power of Snowgrave). Noelle being sacrificed is something that Susie and Kris would never allow to happen, matching the description of the final prophecy that Susie gave before she smashed it. This also explains why Ralsei was so panicked over Susie seeing the final prophecy.

Chapter 5 is going to be the festival, but after that, surely we're going to unlock the bunker... also, how does this all tie in to Mr. Holiday's illness? My prediction is that Carol gave up her humanity/soul and is working with Chara in some way to gain a cure from the Dark World. Apparently the Roaring Knight is the one opening the Fountains, so it would make a lot of sense if this is the underlying reason. But it seems there is way more to be discovered.

I'm really happy with the pacing of the overall chapters. It seems to be leading up to a badass ending. The halfway point has been reached, so... 4 more chapters?

If I have anything negative to say, it would be that a few more twists or unexpected things would've been interesting. I don't want to say Toby is "playing it safe", but since more people have gotten involved, maybe Deltarune is starting to err a bit on the side of formulaic (for the series in general, I mean, which is a great formula, I just really enjoy the way Toby took so many chances with Undertale and Deltarune Chapters 1 and 2). This was exactly what I expected and more. The advantage to having more programmers and artists involved is that the game looks incredible. Though looking incredible is not everything to a game, it's nice to see the series get the treatment and window dressings it rightly deserves, and it's very clear that Toby still has creative control over the story and characters. You can't help but appreciate the amount of talent and hard work that goes into these games. But I really hope chapters 5, 6, 7 and 8 really knock my socks off!

dark world gameplay got too hard and convoluted for my sensibilities at some point 😞 i strongly prefer how easy undertale is in comparison, i'm a casual player through and through. really struggled with chapter 4 dark world. not fun for me when im fighting for my life and don't get me started with the jumping! even my friend who i was streaming it to said there was way too much of that.

Ok correction: i have alot of feelings about Noelle's mom but 80% of them are negative. And i hope the fanbase won't immediately crucify her for the rest of her days since they already do that to female characters that only screwed up in a major way once and were otherwise pretty nice people (cough cough UT Alphys) because if that happens i WILL become Carol Holiday's biggest defender out of necessity. I will elaborate on these feelings later.

SIDENOTE: I will most likely not pick up Snowgrave after chapter 2. That cutscene is fucking terrifying and i will let more dedicated people than me experience it first hand. i think if i did continue it i would legit feel incredibly bad. Like those people that renamed their Undertale desktop shortcuts to prevent them from RESETing over their True Pacifist endings back in 2015.

Uh. In short. These two chapters were ALOT. I laughed at multiple points, i teared up at multiple points, i freaked out at multiple points, i overall liked the experience but i am both worried for the direction the game's taking, that with the implied tragic end of the Prophecy and the fast pacing of these two chapters specifically, especially with the characters - it doesn't feel like Berdly or Noelle retained anything from their adventure in the Dark World, or that Ralsei and Susie's arcs are both progressing rapidly, and as such makes Susie's reputation in Hometown especially jarring to encounter again. THAT OR MAYBE PLAYING BOTH CHAPTERS BACK TO BACK WHILE NOT DOING ANYTHING ELSE IS NOT THE CORRECT WAY TO PLAY THIS STUPID GAME. IDK. YOU TELL ME.

Deltarune Chapter 3 Predictions!

Okay, so, Deltarune Chapters 3 and 4 are releasing IN A FEW HOURS by the time this post releases, which (I’m sure for many) is SUPER exciting after the long, LONG wait. Chapter 2 is what turned me into what I can classify as a “megafan”, and I played it within… like, a year or less of its release, so I’ve been there for a lot of its theories and brainrot. (*human, i remember you’re… friend inside me.)

After it releases, I’m basically going to go radio-silent on pretty much every single possible outlet where spoilers could be spread. BlueSky, Tumblr, YouTube, I’m not even going to look at my Steam reviews. (Note: This plan was made before Toby coincidentally advised fans to do the same thing if they wanted to avoid spoilers. It’s just sensical, but still interesting nonetheless.) For someone as chronically online as me, it might be difficult, but I’m going to draw and/or watch Milo Murphy’s Law for the first day or two and then watch the first ten episodes of the new Phineas and Ferb revival when they go to Disney+ on June 6th. (Also, unrelated, but I also predict Irving will be in one of the scenes for the “fake” sequel of Meap Me In Saint Louie. I don’t know why, I just feel it in my bones. Pun unintended.)

So, here’s a detailed explanation of my predictions for Deltarune Chapter 3! Maybe a little bit of stuff for Chapter 4 as well, but mostly things for Chapter 3! Some of them are for sure incorrect, but still. Here we go!

As you can see, my ideas for predictions all started on October 10th, 2023. Yes, you heard me right, 2023. We’ve been waiting for quite a while, haven’t we? I think that’s Chairiel in the bottom-right corner. Look at that! The whole thing was purposefully a little low-ish effort, but it’s still legible enough for me to post. (I hope.)

The prediction for more than 7 chapters came from a HalfBreadChaos video about hidden Chapter 8, Chapter 9, and Chapter 10 start-up screens in the files, but looking at it nowadays, it seems unlikely. I also don’t think Chapters 3 and 4 will be on the same day anymore.

Here are some more specific chapter predictions!

It’s a funny idea (and would parallel what people thought Chapter 2 would start with, when Kris grabbed the knife and what not), but the difference here is that Chapter 1 was always intended to be a standalone demo, and thus, a haha funny bait-‘n-switch is more expected than for Chapter 2 to do so (as it would’ve been expected to release alongside all the other chapters). Plus, the potential of a Dark World in Kris’s home is too much to pass up, in my opinion at least.

Using my chart and assuming the Dark World for Chapter 6 is in Alphy’s Class, a chalk-based boss would be interesting and funny for how Susie would react towards the chalk wanting to eat HER for a change, or something. Though, in my opinion, it lacks the design cohesion of the two current secret bosses we have (Jevil has a somewhat complex design, and Spamton is simple but he has a complex design when you fight him as Spamton NEO, which contrasts to this design’s simplicity), and, like… wasn’t the whole point of Chapter 1 that Alphys didn’t have any chalk? And she never got any in the end anyway?? Unless she gets chalk in-between Chapters 2 and 6 (or if she has dialogue in Chapter 2 about getting chalk I just forgor), this just seems like a fun idea for a fan character at best and implausible at worst.

Well, those are my more general chapter-specific predictions, now onto the big guns! A full outline of what I think Chapter 3 is going to look like. You know, based on information I either didn’t have or didn’t fully understand in 2023 that built upon and/or ignored any future reveals. Here we go!

Omega Flowey reference (intentional)! The reference is how Tenna’s eyes are green with red pupils. You know, how, like, Omega Flowey has the…? Yeah, you get it.

In my mind, my “Tenna” interpretation is otherwise calm and somewhat motherly with an infrequent tendency to be neurotic and angry. She wouldn’t really crash out like this. Maybe she’s just embarrassed that her first experience with a Lightner is met with scorn and ridicule? That makes some semblance of sense.

Classic Allegedly classic display of a “mother” (Tenna) dragging her “daughter” (Susie) into doing something she doesn’t actually want to do.

(realizes right now this is basically just a spin on the Queen/Noelle dynamic but less funny) Hey, wait a minute…

In case one of my estimated 1/2 of a viewer caught on to the terminology I was using earlier, you’ll realize that I’ve been referring to Tenna by she/her this whole time.

“Wait!” You may or may not be calling out to your screen for some reason. “Spamton referred to a person with he/him pronouns on the website from Spamton Sweepstakes where the name ‘Tenna’ was first mentioned!”

…I, uh, didn’t see that part when first coming up with the concept. Whoopsie-doopsie!

Fun fact: When originally taking a photo of this particular comic (several months ago, as I was planning to upload all of them to my BlueSky but got zero engagement and got fairly demotivated), I scribbled over “TV lady” and replaced it with “TV person”. But I decided before posting this to just bite the bullet and confidently proclaim my wrongness because it factors into the story I have planned! Or, HAD planned, I guess, since this is a scheduled post… oh well.

Looking at it again after a while, I thought Ralsei had the titular Delta Rune emblem on his pajamas, but no, it’s a cute little teddy bear head.

Drawn “We should go look for her!” text jumpscare. AHHH! Feel like there should’ve been a “Hm? She was c-captured? Oh no!” beforehand, but, bygones.

In case you couldn’t tell, before doodling all these, I actually have not drawn any of the Deltarune characters before. I’ve drawn Sans and Papyrus (and Flowey…?) a lot before, but other than that, I haven’t really drawn much other UT/DR characters. Hm. Maybe I’ll do more of that eventually.

You know what else I forgot? I forgot visible-goat Ralsei doesn’t have his hat. Literally. I was told twice by my sister (who is as big if not a bigger Deltarune fan than I), MONTHS apart (with the second time being a day or two prior to writing this), that the whole point is that Ralsei stopped wearing his hat, but I don’t know, it’s an iconic character piece! I would say he looks naked without it, but his hair tuft alleviates that problem somewhat.

Said hair tuft in question infrequently appearing on Ralsei’s head alongside the hat… double whoopsie-doopsie. (Whoopsie-doopsie-boopsie?)

Ralsei doesn’t actually say anything brutal there, it’s just a buffer for the funny. The buffer wouldn’t exist in-canon. And the Shadowman brutality also wouldn’t exist in-canon. OHHHH MY GOD I just realized the implications of the needlessly depicted brutality against the first primarily-black Deltarune enemies, wowwwwwwww oh my god I promise I am not bigoted I am just very bad at thinking some things through sometimes. The humor is supposed to be that they are doing these needlessly brutal things to innocuous everyman enemies, NOT from the harbingers of justice enacting such violence against otherwise innocent civilians with that specific color palette! Please believe me! I can already feel my 1/2 a viewer drop down to 1/4 a viewer! I’m just short-sighted!!!!!

Oh, and also, I don’t know if “The Real Shadowman” exists or not, but he would probably just be a one-room NPC you meet who’s the “origin” of why the Shadowmen are named the way they are, somewhat washed-up, bitter, and nostalgic and all that. Maybe there’d be some extra dialogue if you have The Original Starwalker in your key items too, that’s be funny.

Also also, you probably noticed from the first comic thingy-ma-doo, but I chose not to use a color picker and just used “*shrugs* close enough” colors when filling it in, even if the drawings are less than two panels apart. Do with that what you will.

Yep. Toriel wasn’t captured. She’s just been wandering around aimlessly. I’m surprised she hasn’t encountered any Shadowmen.

In case you’re curious, that little robogoober is “Rembo”, made from the Dreemurr’s TV remote! The one with batteries that was found on the couch. As shown by the battery on his head. (There’s a different empty remote next to the TV, right? From flavor text by interacting with the TV? That exists, right??)

The “WHIR” would be the same one from the chainsaw Mettaton uses to intentionally almost get the human’s soul in “Cooking With A Killer Robot”, by the by!

This is also a demonstration of Toriel’s fire powers! Because yes, I imagine they’d be a spell in her toolset if she’s a party member, which I maintain she will be. Yes, I believed there was going to be a weird route in Chapter 3. New evidence causes me to doubt that claim nowadays, but, for now, go with the narrative on this one, mkay?

…Well, batteries are toxic, right?

Oh, and also, I’ve based a lot of character expressions off of Ren from Ren and Stimpy. I watched a noticeable chunk of it. Like, the first three seasons (though I’m aware Prime Video is missing like half of Season 2, coincidentally being some of if not the best episodes of the entire show, so I guess only part of Season 2) and the first episode and a half (or maybe two halves?) of Season 4. I watch shows in order, waow !

Hm? You expected a Tumblr post about Deltarune to talk about Deltarune? Beginner’s trap. You’re smarter than that, my 1/8 a viewer! Your smile also brightens the room and makes people feel more comfortable around you.

Toriel would be very happy to see Kris, though I’m unsure if she’d be happy that they’re in where she is in the first place. And probably put together that Susie’s there, too.

Ralsei’s superficial understanding of family dynamics (He Has: No Parents) caused him to automatically assume Toriel was married. Boy… they are not off to a good start, huh?

I like the first Toriel drawing, it’s fairly on-model, but you know what I don’t like? The second choice.

Not because it’s juvenile or “edgy” or anything like that, but the phrasing. Instead of the awkward clunkiness of “Some homeless guy, he has guns in his robe right now”, it could be a much more succinct “Some homeless guy with guns in his robe”, or to comedically accentuate the negative, “Some homeless addict with guns in his robe”. Still though, in principle, it’s a… somewhat cute reference to the whole “Ralsei with a gun” thing. Though, statistically speaking, it is one chapter too late. Does this mean that Chapter 4 will have a reference to “doobie Ralsei”? Or would changing the choice to call him an addict cover both bases?

Originally, I was gonna do a whole “erm, well, to be fair, you don’t know that Kris wasn’t talking about Ralsei when referring to their friend in Chapters 1 and 2 if you call Toriel” bit, but then I realized… uh… Susie. Susie is pretty concretely confirmed to be the friend Kris was talking about, in Toriel’s mind at least. Though, on second thought… “He’s my friend” is both rather clunky (like the first choice, golly) and lacking that natural Kris conviction in the choices you choose for them. So! I propose instead, the first choice be changed to “My teammate”. Here’s how the interaction would go:

Toriel (with that one shocked/serious face): Your… teammate?

Ralsei: Yes! Kris and I are members of a team set to… well…

Ralsei (again): …to stop disaster and to make the world a better place!

Toriel (turning towards Ralsei): …

(Toriel turns back to Kris and waits for a moment or two before continuing.)

Toriel: I shall trust your judgement, Kris. Despite not fully understanding it.

Toriel (again): You are a smart child, and I know you would not put your faith into someone who doesn’t deserve it.

Toriel (turning to Ralsei, serious; internally): (Something about this character makes me feel… uneasy.)

Ralsei (still facing Toriel, happy; internally): (I’ve never had an authority figure guide me before! I’m so excited to see what it feels like!)

She doesn’t need to say Kris twice… back-to-back… uggghhh, whatever, I’m griping with my own work. In case you’re unaware, this is the designated “Kris would choose this if they still had free will” option. Do with that what you will. I know Kris can’t.

Get it? Because they don’t have free will? Eh? Ehhhhhh?

Hey, why is there only 1/16 a viewer left…?

Here’s where the visual portion of my predictions end! However, I shall continue on from this point, with some extras afterward, too! Not with full dialogue for every scene obviously, and not even dialogue for every important scene, but still, you know.

Though, I would say instead of “converging”, in the first option, Ralsei would say something like: “Oh! I almost forgot! We’re looking for the third member of our party, Susie.” And Toriel’s like “Susie? Of course… it’s only natural she was also brought… wherever here is.”

And then after THAT it would properly converge with dialogue about Toriel wanting to join the party, wanting to “lead”, Ralsei telling her that Kris usually leads, Toriel stepping in and explains that she’s Kris’ mother, and thus, not only responsible for what happens to them but also needing to protect them from danger, and telling Kris to stay close behind. (Gameplay wise, Toriel wouldn’t join your party at this point, but rather, vaguely trail ahead of you for a few rooms like she does in Undertale.)

After Toriel walks off-screen into the next room, Ralsei would both be filled with a sense of wide-eyed wonder at Toriel’s protective nature (He Has: No Parents) and somewhat disappointed/maybe even a little annoyed that Toriel’s proclaiming herself as the leader.

Anywho, you continue into a bunch (like four) of puzzle rooms with a vague “news channel” theme, Tenna reappears, with a tied-up Susie in a gaming chair to the side or something. She explains that they never finished their news report! She also explains: “Unfortunately, Mike sprained his elbow while trying to make it to this room, so our substitute weathermen will fill in for him today!” Down come the Weather Boys. The presumed weather minibosses in Chapter 3. For the news! Susie complains that she doesn’t even have the chance to fight, and Tenna appreciates her “free spirit” so she lets her go, just to help battle and what not. Toriel’s watching from the side, but unfortunately unable to help.

After that miniboss is said and done, Tenna takes Susie back after a short-lived congratulation and heads off. Toriel reluctantly admits that Kris definitely has more knowledge on how to beat the enemies of “this strange place”, and so agrees to let them lead. She puts herself second in line after Ralsei, though. And that’s kind of the gimmick of the chapter! Instead of Susie being with you, for the majority of the chapter, Toriel is your second party member! You need to help show her the ropes on how to battle and probably make her learn “T-Action” during a mandatory encounter with more Shadowmen (or another enemy/group of enemies) in the next room. This is most definitely an incorrect assumption, given all photos we have of Chapter 3 battles include Susie, but it’s an interesting idea, gosh darn it!

The other main gimmick of the chapter is that there are a bunch of different areas that each represent different channels! And, naturally, Tenna can always have “breaking news” reports in the middle of a channel area because that’s her thing. She’ll probably just banter with you and maybe give you some fights, overall being more involved than King or maybe even Queen is when it comes to battles. The different green rooms serve as a sort of buffer in-between channels with signs telling you what channel you’re supposed to go in. Westerns! Sitcoms! CW-esque dramas! Cartoons! And, most importantly, the Godzilla-esque place, with the Godzilla stand-in being something you need to literally travel up in order to beat. (You beat it by turning off a conveniently placed level at the top of its head. It’s just an animatronic, after all.)

Rembo will reappear again in an SNL-inspired improv “comedy” show, alongside — you guessed it — Roulxs Kaard! He gives very bad stand up. “I’ll wast the first personeth to say it: Whatst ist the dealeth with staying in Kris’s pocketh all the timeth? I mean, thou stay in one placeth all the timeth without ever getting to embark elsewhere? I felt more free when I was underth the rule of a totalitarianeth king!” No laugh track will play. (Though if you check Lancer in your inventory afterwards, he will note that he felt “Lesser Dad always had a penchant for comedy!”)

He gets mad at the Fun Gang for “totally stealing my thundereth”, Ralsei quietly notes that he’s talking unusually casually, and a boss fight commences with him and Rembo in tow. Skit-based “remote” attacks ensue.

I also predict that Toby’s post about asking who Lancer is actually foreshadowing! Let’s break it down.

We’re just so happening to get 4 chapters released in total. Let’s see how well the first two line up.

Using the logic I’m so needlessly indulging in, “Lancer” would be used in Chapter 1. This makes sense; Chapter 1 is his introduction and is the chapter in which he’s most relevant. Calling him by his actual name is fairly straightforward.

“But wait”, my 1/32 of a viewer might be asking, “How does Chapter 2 relate to ‘Dancer’ in any way?” WELL, if you recall, what does Lancer do when you idle during selection of your Key Items? Dance. And he’s also associated with Queen’s Mix Tape in your Key Items, too.

What of Chapter 3 and 4, though? Well, in Chapter 3, he would supposedly be “Prancer”. Prancing is a form of movement, usually taken up by horses. So, I predict that in the aforementioned Western section, you will be able to use Lancer as a horse to navigate. And, incidentally, I believe Lancer will turn to stone much slower than he does in Chapter 2, if at all. Why? Well, Ralsei said that a Darkner “may not belong if they go to another (dark fountain)”. Emphasis on may.

Think about it. Lancer is supposed to be, like, a playing card, right? A playing card is out of place in a computer lab. That’s why he turned to stone. But a playing card at someone’s home? Well… that just might do. fits a lot more obviously! People usually have playing cards in their home. It wouldn’t be unordinary. Perhaps in the living room, but even still, it’s much more natural.

And finally, “Mr. Generosity” for Chapter 4. This builds off the point I was making earlier. Taking into account the fact that (if Chapters 3 and 4 are on separate days) Chapter 4 will take place on a Sunday, and the prevalence yet inaccessibility of the church so far, it is basically guaranteed that Chapter 4 is going to be in the church. A playing card doesn’t fit at a computer lab, but I’d say it fits even LESS in a church. (Unless the church has one of those… playing areas… I guess? I’m choosing to ignore that possibility because it doesn’t fit with my narrative, though.) This would logically mean Lancer would turn into stone super fast. And I predict that, because it’s literally church, Lancer’s statue will be treated like a religious figure named “Mr. Generosity” with his devoted followers citing “His silly little face and rotund little body inspire all of us to be more generous. That’s why we call him Mr. Generosity.” And I think that’s a really funny idea. And if you recruit everyone in Chapter 4, Lancer’s happy about “finally having a fanbase outside of the people my dad forced to make one!”

The secret boss will also be based off of the empty remote I was talking about earlier (if it exists). Instead of Rembo, he will be called… Gembo, and speak only in L33T speak. He feels empty because no batteries but he still has life because blah blah blah Gaster shenanigans. Hurr dee durr, that’s our Wing Gaster! He’ll turn you green, dodge his attacks that harken back to a bunch of different channels and ones not even touched on by the different areas like spy movies, cartoons, or soap operas.

There will also be a scene near the end of the chapter where Ralsei asks if you wonder how Susie’s doing. If you agree, you’ll get a little scene where Tenna acts very motherly to Susie in a way that suits her vibe surprisingly well, and shows her her own trailer in the green room (and this area would probably be where the magic door that allows you to switch between locations is). Susie is pretty happy about having a healthy maternal figure.

Anywho, final Tenna fight of the chapter, two rooms before the fountain! It’s a relatively standard finale, basically being like Queen’s fight before Mecha Queen. HOWEVER! If you’ve been using Toriel’s fire magic to defeat enemies, you can do what people theorized on Tenna: SCREEN BURN. This won’t affect Toriel emotionally as much as it did Noelle, but Tenna will definitely not make it out alive. This won’t affect the story too much either, but Susie will close up a little more and be considerably bummed out. (Tenna’s boss theme will also be called BREAKING NEWS. You heard it here first, folks!) If Tenna is fought on the normal route, she will go to Castle Town regardless if you fight or act against her. She’ll definitely have some fun interactions with Queen.

SIKE! Remember Mike? The red herring? He was the big bad the whole time. He did sprain his elbow, but used it as a distraction to make it to the fountain and stop the heroes there once and for all! You see, if the fountain closes, all of its networks and what not will go down the drain. That’ll lose him money! And put many others out of jobs! So he has to defeat you in a spectacle the TV world will never forget!

He’s a floating fish. He’s the second-hardest boss of the chapter (under the secret boss, naturally). Normally, you do it with Susie and Ralsei, but in the Weird Route, Susie needs to take a breather to deal with the loss of Tenna and Ralsei tries his best to comfort Toriel after the technical atrocity she committed, in his own Ralsei-y way, so you need to do it solo (like Spamton NEO, kind of)! He uses cameras and show equipment and the like as attacks. You can only beat him via attacking (like King), so give him the best you got! (He’ll be in the jail next to King in Castle Town afterwards, regardless of route.)

After sealing the fountain, the gang (minus Ralsei, plus Toriel) wake up outside the Dreemurrs’ home and find out it was on fire because when Kris made the fountain, they accidentally did puncture some pipes and set the stage for a fire. Undyne had to drag them all out of the burning building herself! (Undyne and Napstablook are there, pulled up in a cop car.) Toriel begrudgingly realizes they have to spend the night at Asgore’s, which Susie is somewhat uncomfortable about (and sullen if you completed the weird route). They go, cutscene plays, maybe you overhear Toriel and Asgore sort of reconcile if you’re on the normal route or otherwise remain stagnant in their relationship. The end… of Chapter 3. Not sure what the hook would be to connect to the next chapter, though maybe Susie jokes about having to go to church tomorrow because she jokingly remarks “that whole situation put the fear of god into me, man”.

Time for my final, less loosely chronological predictions!

One of the two new secret bosses will be (slightly-to-moderately) more popular than the other, but the less popular secret boss’s theme will be the one most talked about by the community. Kind of a yin/yang situation here. They will also regularly be drawn as a duo, which is to be expected.

I also predict that one of the secret bosses will not be a boy! Jevil and Spamton were both boys, it’s time to lay low on the testosterone around here! I mean, come on! Can’t you see how manly they are?! It’s almost giving me a headache!

You won’t go to Ralsei’s Dark World/Castle Town until the beginning of Chapter 4, where you go and put your stuff in and what not before heading to church and then returning to Ralsei’s dark world after. A third or so of Chapter 4, after going to Ralsei in Castle Town, will also be in the Light World!

The Weather minibosses will have somewhat funny dialogue in Castle Town, talking about their other jobs since they’re technically substitute news reporters. The blue one talks about being an infomercial salesman, while the yellow one just talks about being the owner of a small sandwich deli shop. Good stuff.

And finally, Chapter 3 will NOT have a weird route due to the whole “applicable/not applicable” thing the community discovered a while back. Where Chapters 1 and 3 are not applicable, but Chapters 2 and 4 are applicable. Noelle’s definitely going to be a party member in both; ergo, a Weird Route in both. Sorry, Screen Burn truthers.

I’ll definitely edit this post afterwards to add alt text to the images, but any acknowledgment of if my predictions were right or wrong will be saved for up until a follow-up post in which I go into massive detail about it. I’ll definitely do predictions for Chapters 5 and beyond and make long, needlessly circumlocutory posts about them too, so you don’t need to worry! The monkeyman2020 Deltarune pipeline has only just begun to bloom.

4.) Dolos: With Elio (My Waddle Dee Oc who is the son of Bandee), after the betrayal of his friends. Elio was the one who went after Dolos. Elio tries to explain what's going on but Dolos doesn’t want any of that. They fight and Dolos can't bring himself to leave a scratch on him.

A. Because he’s very close friends with him and his sister

B. He felt pity for his disability

After that Elio took that chance to run. Leaving Dolos to think about what he had done. He wishes to apologize to him but couldn't find him anywhere, he’s avoiding him..

Zelena: Raymesis. She’s always there when Raymesis get scold if he doesn't succeed in his mission. But Zelena noticed Raymesis despise her. Why though? Did she do something to him? She only been nice to him when she was created.. Why is he so aggressive to her? According to Shadow (Shadow Rayman) Raymesis is jealous to her when Mr.Dark praises her. Telling her she did a better job than him and the rest of his siblings. Zelena felt horrible? She felt like its all her fault. She always apologize to Raymesis but he never dares to listen to her.

R2: No one, yet. R2 never done anything to his fellow family members.

6.) Dolos: Oh yes! Basic abilities that Marx has—splitting apart, creating black holes, and his own signature spell that is similar to Marx. He also learn chaos magic from Dimentio, Jevil, and Marx. Is he proud of that? It’s a yes and no. For the yes part, it’s all cool and it’s explosive magic. Great to blow up your enemies! For the no part, it drains your energy. Yeah no fun :P

Zelena: Dark magic is running through her blood. From what Dad (Alas) said. She was taught how to control dark magic by Mr.Dark himself! She learned her very own signature spell from Mr.Magician himself! Least favorite magic? Definitely light magic. Sorry Mr.Magican but it’s useless.. and weak.

R2: Technology magic!!! It’s so much easier!! Beep-O, Jeanie, and Peaches taught him the basics of it! What’s his least favorite magic? None!

8.) Dolos: ..Accidentally called Susie ‘Mama’ …He did not repeated again when Susie asked him again. Magolor and Taranza remembers that and always tease Dolos about it.

Zelena: Embarrassment? Hmm.. That feeling that Rayman feels the most from Ms.Betilia!! Probably when her Dad said, “My baby girl all grow up!!!! Wahhhhhh!!-” that made her hair turn pink hues..

R2: Beep-O showing embarrassing photos from his ‘youth’ days. That made him scream to Lu’s shoulder—when Lu, Mari, Yosh, Rosa, and Edge look at his photos. He was fully pink all day.

9.) Dolos: Is the one to start drama. He has entire Kirby team chasing his ass to stop him from freeing Marx and wanting him to understand them. But before that, he was the type of friend to pull pranks (The ones he close to) and express his interest. His machines help others in need! He always listen to his friends need when they’re feeling sad. Elio misses the old days so do Dolos and Maanya.

Zelena: She’s laid back and calm. Her friends are Raymesis and Shadow. But now it’s Rayman and his friends. Well she pretends those are her friends in order to trick them.. Anyways, like Dolos she will listen to her friend's problems. She will even protect her friends from bullying! What a sweetheart!

R2: Calm but short-tempered like Beep-O. Like Father and Son they say. Like Dolos and Zelena he would listen, protect his love ones. He’s the one with the brains and has a heart of gold! That's R2 for you!

heyyyy I was tagged by @snarky-wallflower for this thingy, and I don't typically do stuff like this but what the heck! This one looks fun, and I need a small break from finals.

1. How many works do you have on AO3?

Sixty-six! Nice round satanic number.

2. What’s your total word count?

Uhhh... 1,164,238. I think I broke a million back with Dream Come True. Wild stuff! Guess that's what happens when you do this nonstop for like four years.

3. What fandoms do you write for?

Mostly Deltarune these days, obviously, but I also had a wonderful time in the Splatoon and DuckTales fandoms, as well as Miraculous Ladybug, My Little Pony, and a ton of smaller ones here and there.

4. Top 5 fics by kudos

Dare to Dream (Deltarune): A fun little Susie x Noelle romcom that takes place in a divergent chapter 2 timeline where Susie kisseed Noelle on the Ferris Wheel. Also the first fic in my mega-series Dream Come True, a 300,000 word epic that really kind of went off the rails. But don't worry about that! It's just a funny little romcom! Come closer!

F@#!, Marry, or Kill (Miraculous Ladybug): I am so mad that this is up here. This fic sucks. I wrote it when I was fourteen (hence my reluctance to say "fuck" in the title) and it's just the main characters of the show getting caught up in a game of Fuck-Marry-Kill that involves their own superhero identites, but nobody else knows that. It's a good way to leverage the dramatic irony of Miraculous Ladybug, I guess, but I hate that this was my most-kudoed fic for so long. I wrote it over SEVEN years ago. The only reason it got so popular is because back in 2016, the Miraculous Ladybug fandom was a sea of piranhas starved by the seemingly endless will-they won't-they of the show, ravenous for whatever scraps they could get their grimy little teeth on. Perfect example of why popularity doesn't always equate with quality.

People Write Fanfiction About Me? (Miraculous Ladybug): This one is actually good, even if it's also incredibly old. Basically, Marinette finds online RPF of her and her superhero partner that was obviously written by her superhero partner, and they get into a whole meta fanfiction war, and it gets worse from there. I like this one a lot even if it's in an outdated style: I think it's a good take on the identity reveal genre for the ML fandom.

Stealing Kisses (Deltarune): Not much to say on this one! It's a direct continuation of Dare to Dream, still part of the Dream Come True series, though it functions more as a drama than a straight romcom, which is only one of many tone shifts that this series eventually takes. It also contains Locker Biting Challenge (if you know you know), which I think is, to date, one of the funniest bits of situational comedy I've ever written, so it gets special notes for that.

Crossing the Streams (DuckTales): And this is my most popular DuckTales fic, to round out the set! It's a low-stakes / no-magic AU, where instead of going on daring adventures, the DuckTales kids stream FPS video games online, and are, like, famous streamers. I think its popularity was artificially boosted just a tad due to being in-progress when the series finale dropped, but I think it holds up! I had some good fun playing with identity, fame, and hidden relationships.

I--sometimes! Just not very often... Look, if someone asks me a question, or if I have something to actually say in response, or if the comment is particularly touching, I'll reply, but I'm just really bad at taking compliments! It feels very awkward to me to reply to every comment when I would basically just be going "Thanks so much, I'm glad you liked it!" ten times in a row. That's the only reason (<-Definitely doesn't have anxiety)

6. What’s the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

I don't tend to do unhappy endings. Cold Case for sure, if it were finished, lmao. Although--I guess you could argue Stealing Kisses has a very angsty ending, though it isn't actually an ending since it's just a sequel-bait cliffhanger. But yeah, I'm going to cheat a little and say Cold Case. It should be finished soon, anyway! Hopefully!

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

That's hard to say considering the amount of romcoms I've written, but I think I'd actually have to go with the final mainline entry in my Splatoon series, Operation 24, which was The Wedding. It ends on a really sweet and poignant rooftop scene that I think is particularly uplifting, even compared to the endings of my other long-form romance fics.

8. Do you get hate on fics?

Very rarely. I've gotten my share of transphobic comments -- welcome to the Internet! -- but thankfully they've been few and far between. I just delete them when they show up.

9. Do you write smut?

Yes, I have; no, you can't see it :p

10. Do you write crossovers?

I have written at least two crossover fics, so yes! I wouldn't exactly call it my genre, though. They're a little too niche and I like attention.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Oh boy. Yes, twice; the first was my Fuck Marry Kill fic for miraculous ladybug, which was ripped off and horribly butchered into a terrible version of the story by someone who IMMEDIATELY abandoned it to Orphan Account. Which is wild to me.

But the real creme of the crop was some kid on WattPad who copied large portions of my Operation 24 series, and then changed small and seemingly arbitrary details throughout to be more...train-centric? Like, all the characters would have strange and OOC dialog about trains in the middle of the romance. And then after a few chapters of that it did a total left-hand veer into a Thomas the Tank Engine / Harry Potter crossover that was utterly wild to behold. This whole saga is probably one of the weirdest things that has ever happened to me in my life and I'm honestly more bewildered than mad about it.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

Wow, wouldn't that be cool! But no, along with getting a podfic this is one of those big fic-writer experiences that has elude me thusfar.

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

Nope! I don't really know how to co-write outside of RP, and I haven't ever really done RP. I'm not opposed to the concept of co-writing, but I think it's sort of difficult to make work with my writing style.

14. What’s your all-time favorite ship?

While I'd love to give the PR-friendly answer of Suselle, I think it's gotta go to Miraculous Ladybug's Love Square. That show has haunted me for seven years and is showing no sign of stopping, and the fuckery it does with its main relationship is some utterly unrivaled Shakespearian nonsense. The way the fandom has built around the relationship is also very interesting, especially the way the fanfic scene has shifted as the show develops and its audience grows up.

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you will?

If I want to finish a WIP, I will finish that WIP. The only ones that don't get finished are the ones I don't want to finish. This is the power of believing in yourself!

16. What are your writing strengths?

Dialog for sure--always has been--and also just, like, grammar? I do words good, as they say. I like to think I have a pretty well-rounded writing skillset at this point, though.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Definitely descriptive stuff like setting the scene. I have to really work to make sure my scenes are embodied in physical reality, and sometimes I just forget to describe new locations. It's just a fairly boring part of writing for me, so I don't like doing it.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language?

I took six years of Spanish and have forgotten all of it, so this is unlikely at best. Spanish also uses em dashes instead of quotation marks to denote speaker changes, and while that is very linguistically interesting, it is also very confusing to me, specifically.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

Uhhh... the first fandom I published was Miraculous Ladybug, but I think the first fandom I wrote for was My Little Pony. My MLP stuff is on a different site, and also pretty freaking bad, but it was my first large-scale fic and it really helped me develop my skills and voice.

20. Favorite fic you’ve ever written?

Easy: Dream Come True. That was a monumental journey to go on, and seeing my readerbase follow along as that story morphed and twisted and just kept going and going was such a unique and satisfying experience as a writer. It truly feels unreplicable.

Everyone else is the same mostly, don't really change the roles besides the fact that instead of CC (Greg in og) getting possessed by my mimic/glitch trap, it's mike (for GGYthing. Name would be MCL.) And William is still evil. He just follows a similar role to Vanny in sb but isn't a reluctant follower. He welcomes vanni as a parasite. He also is still partners with henry (business) but now they just own fredbears megaplex. Henry is basically the same. Charlie and Mike are close in age and Sammy is here too. And Jeremey. Bc gays. everyones a bit older here so like 16-17. They all work (illegitimately) at the plex as security guards on weekends and afterschool. Cheaper to pay and it keeps them out of trouble (looking at mike specifically). Vanessa is a corpse bc uhh… michael counterpart. She still works at the company as a repairman, but is not seen till later. all 5 missing kids (susie, gabriel, ect) are here as well, and they do indeed end up missing (more on that later)

Now animatronics. 

Goes up to the toys bc i like them best. So the mini music men are the main toys, with mangle as the actual music man. There's only 3 mini’s obviously lmao. Toy Freddy, Toy Bonnie, Toy Chica. But they are very fast and perform with mangle in the arcade. Puppet is a map bot but also sun and moon?. she floats from the celling like moon does with his cord but thats where the similarities end. She gives guests glowing green wristbands that serve as the fazwatch in this universe. its for parents to keep track of their kid, using an app?? But here it is used to track kids to isolate them from each other, and make them go “missing”. Like circus baby if ykwim. Speaking of which, circus baby. I like her. So she's here as well. Remember peepaw afton. Yeah well that's circus baby now. Used to get vanni (parasite little bitch) what she needs to survive, a body of her own. 

And uh funny story. Elizabeth finds out that her dad is possessed by a parasite from the 80’s and her brother is controlled by something similar, so William takes action ig. But wait. I'm not letting her go just yet. Afterall, Evan and Cassidy need a buddy to travel with as well, right? Their 2 extra friends aren't quite enough… So more on that later for spoiler reasons. also no mimic bc i dont even want to delve into that can of worms... closest u get is circus baby. be happy its JUST circus baby lmao

Ok main animatronics. Roxy, Glam Freddy, Spring Bonnie, and Golden Freddy. All the glamrocks are present in the 1980's original diner, but Ness got a bit angry and uhhh... oops Vanni made her kill people haha. so they are. gone. for now. Roxy and Freddy are completely robotic and have no sentience. Not in the traditional sense anyway. But… Spring Bonnie and Golden Freddy are. Got all that fun AI jazz. They don't match up with any of the glamrocks in particular? Just kind of their own character. So obviously spring bonnie gets the glitch thing from MCL William and is trying to kill Cassidy and Evan. Same with mangle and the toys. But GoldF is like glamrock freddy, AS A ROLE. completely diff personality. So he helps the kids. And that's when stuff really goes down.

okay lets start with the emily’s becuase. because i can. Henry and William are partners in owning the plex and henry is known as the more approachable head of the company. he tends to walk around the plex and interact with all the kids and stuff. when shit heats up, he plays the role of trying to calm will down and figure out what’s controlling him in the first place. he tries to recode the animatronics (minus golden freddy) but it doesn’t… really work. fun stuff happens with him later >:)

now charlie. so charlie works as a security guard with mike, jeremy, and sammy on weekends to make a bit of extra cash. when mike and will get controlled (willingly or not) but Vanni, she takes the role of Cassie (sorta) and does her best to free mike. she’s the one who finds the foxy mask that lets her see wet floor bots. by deactivating the bots, she slowly weakens Vanni’s power over the other animatronics. she investigates what’s happening in the plex and protects the kids.

sammy plays a super crucial role to this au. he acts as tony in this au, and we all know what happens to tony in ggy… so uh not gonna say much about that til later but he is the MAIN investigator with charlie and has a fun encounter with mike eventually.

not an afton or a emily but jeremy is just tape girl in this. he records messages while he is hiding from william and mike because Vanni has deemed him a good host, even better than william or micheal. So he’s just hiding around and recording messages before he gets captured as a way to keep Vanni out of his head.

elizabeth is kind of still in the works story wise. she cant find her dad when he gets ‘captured’ by Vanni and then goes looking for him, and ends up in a room that she really shouldn’t be in. the scooping room. baby is there and takes the now organless elizabeth and stuffs her inside to be harvested for remnant. so… bye bye elizabeth. (ask from @hearts4ggy)

mike is definitely uncomfy with having his body be controlled by a weird ass rabbit parasite dickhead thing, but william is very good at manipulating him so he just stays quiet. not 100% sure yet how he gets all caught up in the vanni stuff but my working idea is that vanni needs somebody else besides william to do its dirty work so they choose micheal bc he’s perfect for the job. checks off all the boxes. hates his brother (meh) related to william, and very easily manipulated. william used circus baby to insert part of vanni into him (with like a microchip or smth) and that’s that. micheal initially isn’t reluctant becuase his dad finally wants him for something (ouch) and he’ll do anything to make him proud, but after the Sammy Incident (tm) hes very reluctant. hes pretty aware and vanni lets him take control of his own body when interacting with the kiddos.

mmm i think evan would notice mike was off but would stay quiet because hes got his hands full with cassie and gregory. Elizabeth is a similar situation to micheal where her dad calls her into the scooping room and she follows because again, william finally wants her “help” with something. she’s used for information about what’s going on with evan and cassidy but when she says she doesn’t know vanni gets pissed and kills her so that she can be used for remnant to keep vanni active in both micheal and william. if anyone was to notice something weird about micheal, it sammy, then charlie. and ofc jeremy knows becuase that’s who micheal is mainly after until vanni can locate the kids.

henry has a lot of shit going on in this au but honestly, he just hides. he finds sammy and sees micheal kill him but does nothing to really help at first. he watches micheal drag sammy away and then the kids and charlie find him. he can’t bear to tell charlie what he saw so he just runs away into one of the remote security offices, which is the same one vanessa was in. vanessa tells him everything since she’s been watching the whole time from cameras but she herself isn’t strong enough to fight back, so henry takes that role from her. using the bracelet sammy was wearing (it has his name engraved on it but its a special puppet bracelet) she tracks him and tells him where to go to get the anamtronics (who are attacking the kids) under control. This is kinda foreshadowing for the scooping incident i mentioned previously. but until that happens i would imagine vanessa being unable to deal with the lack of closure between her and gregory. he would show up in her dreams often, usally berating her over the bite. his death was caused by only her, no interference from vanny. and while cassie was killed out of desperation (more on that later) gregory was killed completely out of overreaction. vanessa had no idea that shoving him inside the mouth of the glamrock freddy animatronic would kill him, and yet her actions caused the death of someone she cared about. maybe the only person she ever truly cared about.

Aquabats: Villain AU 🦇✨

You heard meee :3 Time to discuss what I think the Aquabats would be like if they were villains! Because it's soooo fun to consider "What if the hero went bad" yk???

I do wanna preface: I'm aware there's the antibats? I've never seen that episode (still haven't started s2), so I'm not taking them into account with this. This is all just purely on what I understand of the Aquabats as characters, and my own hcs. (And I think this is a very different concept from the antibats, anyway)

Also, I'll be suggesting some songs that I think fit with the concept so :3 have fun!!

MC Bat Commander

So. My basic idea for MCBC is kinda summed up to. Batman, if he didn't have his moral about no murder. Now obviously, he has a very different origin story than Batman, but the outcome is similar.

As a young child, he admired heroes through and through. Saw them as this beacon of hope and light that could bring peace to the world; hope and light and peace that his homelife didn't give him. He wanted to do good. He wanted to help; to stop feeling so useless and unneeded. It ate at him. He wanted to be looked at as someone, not just "the idiot" or "the one who gets in the way."

Thus, he started hero work. But nothing he did in terms of "hero work" ever felt good enough. Nothing ever gave him that satisfaction that his canon self gets from helping others. So he put himself into more dangerous situations, started assuming the worst in people, and those negative emotions festered into him letting a rescue mission go too far.

He just wanted recognition and praise. He wanted to be a hero. He wanted to be someone. Is that too much to ask for?

Too bad the hole he's in is too deep now.

Crash McLarson

The way I see it: It's a mix of Susie from Deltarune, and Steven Universe Future. I know, weird combo, please hear me out.

Crash as a villain is letting his emotions control his actions. Personally, to me, he comes off as the type of guy where people assume and judge him extremely quickly. He's loud, he comes off as the type to keep to himself which can be taken as stuck up (Points to Eagleclaw episode as evidence, bro did NOT want to get involved), he can be reckless when it comes to those he loves if it means they're safe, he's fucking intimidating, have you seen him???

I'm sure he wanted to prove them wrong. Prove he was a good guy; that he wasn't this monster everyone made him out to be. But you can only handle that type of taunting for so long. Trying so hard to be good, over and over and over again, and it weighs on you.

The cord is gonna snap eventually, you know? And what if it did? They all want a monster. Fuck it, he'll be a monster. And his first goal is get rid of the ones who treated him that way.

At least then, no one else will end up like him.

Ricky Fitness

Long story short: He's not. Lmao. Ricky is too good of a kid, he's a lacky at best. A henchman. I cannot picture anything better than that.

I don't know Ricky's backstory, or any of their backstories, still. Again, I have only seen s1. But I've heard that he was in a gang before finding the Aquabats, and the little I've been told about it, he kinda... Already was. A henchman. But now let's crank it up a bit.

Say he stayed with that gang. Say they kept pushing him to do worse. They start with small tasks that he can kinda argue with himself is for a good cause, just to keep his moral conscious settled, but like a frog in a pot, the water begins to boil him alive.

He's not a bad kid. He has never been a bad kid, and if it weren't for these people, he wouldn't be doing these bad things. Doing them doesn't make him bad, right? He's not a bad guy! He's not a villain! He just- How can he refuse them? These guys are his friends. His family. How could he refuse them when they've done so much good for them? Better yet: How could his own family be bad?

He's not blind to it. He's not blind to his or their actions. But saying no to someone you love is harder than it looks.

Eaglebones Falconhawk

I've already talked about this, I'm talking about it again: Eaglebones as a villain is Light Yagami. I will not take criticism on this. He's Light Yagami, omg???

Listen to me. Listen. Okay.

I've talked about Eaglebones as the golden child in his family, and how he lets that go to his head. I can very easily picture a world where he develops a complex about it, depending on just how bad his family is about it. This is an AU where that all gets to his head. He passes himself off as noble and just hero, when really, he's anything but.

Oh, and his poor, poor brother, who could never live up to him. The one they all paint as the villain, when in reality, Eagleclaw is the one trying to stop his brother, knowing that this has gone too far.

Eaglebones wants to be a hero still. Of course he does. Heroes get all the love and praise. If anything, he already is one. Because what he says is right, and what he does is right, so if heroes are people who do the right thing, then he already is one, isn't he??

I mean. What else is he meant to be?

Jimmy The Robot

Ohhhh he's my fave to talk about. Him being a villain is much like Ricky except he did try to back out and then some mind control/possession/etc bs happened. Think, Vanessa/Vanny from FNAF vibes.

Ohhh Jimmy... Just couldn't live with being othered, could you? Nah, nah nah nah- I get it. Really, I do. I can't blame him for becoming a villain. You literally see it in the show: He is constantly reminded of how he is nothing like his peers. He is held to a higher regard to them, being a robot, but at the same time, constantly made fun of for being a robot. Like, damned if he is, damned if he isn't at that rate.

Until. He meets someone. Some special person who finally, finally, gives him the love and respect that he craves. Who gives him the reassurance that it's okay. Who he is is okay. He's not bad for being different. He's not what they say he are.

It's not him. It's them.

They're the problem. It's always been them; the people who hurt him. Isn't he tired of being nice to them? Why should he have to be? What have they ever done for him that's good?

He knows. He knows it's wrong, but he can't help it; it's good to strike back sometimes. It feels good. Until it doesn't.

And when he realizes. Just how far he's fallen. When he finally tries to get out- Ohhh no. He's not getting away that easy. This someone will not let him. No no no- Can't have that, can we? Did he forget how they treated him? What does he think they'll do once he begs for mercy?

Nooo, he'll be safer with this someone. :)

Just be a good robot, a good doll, and play along.
