You would think a city full of people who do not stay dead would not need a man like Zevran, and yet somehow he's still managed to carve out a neat little business for himself. It helps that some residents, the normal citizens who do not come and go with the moon, are not the sort to miraculously spring back after an attempt on their life; and forcing the respawn process can be rather irritating, so he's just as easily paid to be a thorn in an enemy's side. Whatever works, so long as he makes a living.

He always does try to be careful about it, but sometimes... Sometimes accidents happen, and sometimes a knife slips. Sometimes it actually ends up slicing into his own arm. To his credit, he does manage to finish the job.

But he flees the scene trailing blood, which is never a good thing.

It is only when he is certain he is out of eyesight that he stops to inspect the wound. It is pretty deep, but not to the bone -- it will probably need stitches, and it's bleeding profusely, but it is not anything he hasn't dealt with before. He sighs.

"Rookie mistake, Zevran." Just when his reputation had managed to repair itself, too. "How far to the nearest clinic from here, I wonder?"

He looks around, just now noticing how close he is to the arrival platform and the giant pit in the middle of the city. Great.

Zevran is not going to analyze why he feels compelled to get the mage's coat fixed, but he does make a mental note to look into garment repair at his earliest convenience.

"Ha! You mages are not known for your strength. But please, do try to manhandle me." He is short and lean and very aware of this fact, but even still he is not certain Anders could lift him. It makes for an entertaining visual. And an attractive one, too, if he's being honest. He's a hot-blooded man, sue him.

"That settles it, then." He takes another swig of his coffee, pausing to think. "We could go now but... well, what I should do is take my leave of you, I think. Allow you some rest." Anders really does look exhausted, and Zevran is not prepared to be carrying him back here should anything go awry.

"I can heal a face. I'm terrible with a needle and thread." He reaches out toward the coat, laying one hand on the worn, velvety fabric and stroking it with his thumb. "You know, it was one of my friends in the Wardens who mentioned I should try not wearing mage robes on my escapes. I gave him a lot of sass for that, but got these as soon as I deserted."

'We' heartens him a bit, though he doesn't point out the word choice beyond the smallest hint of a smile. "I don't need magic to throw you out of this apartment, rogue. You're half my size." Not even remotely close to the truth. "But I think I'm drawing a lot more attention with these clothes now, so in interest of not getting coins thrown at me..."

So... I found a spirit cat in Treviso and this led to an idea and now a new (hopefully shortish) fic has begun for Storm 'Rook' Hawke 😂

"I have returned."

Anders sighed, wiping his hands on a nearby cloth. Here we go again. Ever since they discovered that Justice could separate from him for short periods and travel across Thedas in the form of a cat—using the Fade to cover great distances—a habit had formed. Justice, ever the dramatist, insisted on announcing his comings and goings. "You know I can feel it when you’re back, right? You don’t have to be so... Dramatic."

"My apologies," Justice's voice resonated in his mind, calm and deliberate. "I have located the firstborn."

"Storm," he corrected sharply, resuming his task of slicing the carrot in front of him. "Just call him Storm. Or my son. Not ‘your firstborn,’ like it’s some kind of title."

"He is your firstborn," Justice countered, unperturbed. "A fact you should not ignore, regardless of how complicated your relationship may be."

Anders’ knife paused mid-slice. He exhaled through his nose, "Just- How is he?"

"He is in Treviso, in Antiva. Traveling with companions—an elf, a human, and… a demon. The human is its host."

The knife clattered against the cutting board as Anders froze, his chest tightening. "A demon?" he hissed. "And you didn’t think to lead with that?"

"I deemed the sequence of information appropriate," Justice replied, unruffled. "The host shows no signs of instability or loss of control. There is no immediate threat."

"Stable. Right. That’s what I said about us before…" He shook his head, his voice dropping to a mutter as he cut himself off. "And Varric?"

"I did not see the dwarf," Justice said. "If he was present, he eluded me."

Anders closed his eyes, exhaling a slow, measured breath. His fingers tapped against the counter as he tried to piece things together. "Let me get this straight: Storm is traveling with a host to a demon of Spite, and Varric - the one who was supposed to keep him out of trouble - is nowhere to be found?"

Justice offered no response.

Anders pressed the heel of his hand against his forehead. "Maker help me. How does he even find himself in these situations? It’s like he’s cursed to stumble into chaos."

"It is not chaos he seeks, but purpose," Justice said. "What seems like chaos is, in truth, the ripple of larger forces at work."

Anders let out a bitter laugh. "Great. My son’s a magnet for destiny. How reassuring."

Justice said nothing, and Anders returned to slicing the vegetables. "We can’t tell Autumn about this."

"Usually, no," Anders admitted. "But in this instance? Absolutely. Because if she finds out, she’ll have us packed and halfway to Antiva by the end of the week."

"You would have us lie to her?"

I like it,” he mumbled in her direction with the shadow of a smile twinkling in his eyes as they slowly walked through the pass. She nodded, reluctant to break the silence.Ellana Lavellan and Solas find themselves alone in Ghilan'nain's Grove on a scouting mission after setting up the Fens Camp. The threat of a high dragon forces them to find shelter, stay quiet, and face their feelings. Smut ensues.Set in the Exalted Plains, loosely after the events of Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts, and All New, Faded for Her, mid-relationship. Mostly canon compliant. No late game/DLC spoilers (but some foreshadowing). Physical description of Lavellan kept to a minimum.

What I think of it now: This was my first attempt at writing a fairly explicit sex scene, and my first fanfic in a while. I was fueled by pure solavellan hell UST anguish. Reading it now, I think it’s weird that it’s in past tense, but other than that, it’s pretty cute and holds up fairly well.

First Signs of Snow

“It was an open invitation. Would’ve been rude not to extend it to you,” Varric replies, full well knowing it’s not what Hawke is asking. Adamant is not really something you get over. “Wine, cards, nostalgia and bashing on Anders. Get you your signed copy of Tale of the Champion.”

Hawke laughs.

Hawke visits Skyhold after his journey to Weisshaupt, because there's nothing like repeated near-death experiences to make a man speak the unspoken.

Set in the autumn after the events of DA:I. No DLC spoilers and minimal DA2 spoilers.

What I think of it now: I landed into Hawke/Varric through seeing one piece of excellent fan art, and went down the deep end immediately. Since I was in love with these idiots and their repressed feelings, First Signs of Snow ended up as probably the most romantic hurt/comfort/fluff I’ve ever written. Maybe that I’ll ever be able to write.

There are two things I’m not feeling 100% on. Firstly, I kept the fic rated T with a fade to black, since I didn’t feel comfortable writing an MLM sex scene -- I don’t have personal experience, and I didn’t have the time to do the proper research. The second thing is, I don’t think I got Hawke’s voice down, so he sounds a bit more like a snarky Trevelyan. But overall, I absolutely love this fic to bits and want to continue with these two at some point.

Despite his efforts to keep up a mask of propriety at all times, Lavellan has learnt how to read the subtle signs the man can’t seem to control, and his expression is worth the risk of embarrassment. Right now, she sees the tension at the corners of his mouth, the flare of his nostrils, the widening pupils of his luminous light eyes. There’s a moment of hesitation, an attempt at that futile propriety, fighting against thinly veiled desire. Lavellan raises a finger to his lips to shush the reply forming.

“Fuck me against my desk, Solas,” she whispers.

Inquisitor Lavellan invites Solas into her quarters for a little stress release. Shameless smut without feelings ensues.

What I think of it now:

Ooooh boy, if I remember correctly, I wrote this one as I had finished all the smut for Coiling Time, but it was still a long time before I’d post it, and I felt an urge to write some more. Okay, I might also have been out of good one shots to read and wanted to write something steamy.

It’s rather formulaic and porn without plot compared to my other one shots, but, I do like it and the actual smut works pretty well. There’s just enough context to keep it anchored, but not too much to keep the reader from inserting their own Lavellan.

What I think of it now:

Reading this one, I feel as if I cut it short, somehow. I remember, when writing it, that I felt a bit shy going into too much detail. Still, this was pretty much my first time writing WLW smut (I’ve written sapphic romance before though), and I had a good time with this one, albeit a short time.

Oh fuck,” a wave of nausea and pain passes through me, and I accept a hot metal cup of liquid with shaking hands and a grateful sigh. “Thank you. I really must have miscalced some… something, something bad this time. Was it a timecode thing? Two days, you said?”

The man hums, as if in agreement.

“Well, there goes my plan to document hand-building techniques and drip glazes for a few months in the nineteen-seventies... Oh, this tastes nice and herb-y. Is that mint? And... Fennel seed?”

“Elfroot, mostly,” the man says, and I nod, leaning back.

Following what appears to be a mishap with her calendarium, time travelling 22nd century researcher Malika finds herself in Thedas during the Inquisition. Staying undercover proves hard however, despite your training, when you've caught the interest of a certain stoic elven mage... Also, pottery? Complete!

It’s a little early to say. The reception on this fic has been insanely lovely, but, I am also proud of myself not only for finishing this fic but also for facing its challenges head on. And trust me, there were plenty! I suspect a few plot bunnies and plot holes remain, and there’s probably scenes that could have been edited out, but overall, it’s quite solid and I love it - I hope you will, as well. More than one of my wonderfully kind readers immediately started rereading this slow burn from the start, so I’m starting to suspect it is actually better than I’d given myself credit for.

Things I want in terms of love interests in DA4:

• About 70% less humans to romance and way more of every literally every other race.

• More dwarf romances and better dwarf romances!!

• A gay templar man.

• About 70% less humans to romance.

• A pansexual character that actually loves you beyond your sexual relationship.

• A Very Bisexual or Very Pansexual Varric Tethras.

• Make it 80% less humans to romance. I'm so bored of there being mostly human romances.

• More qunari romance options, especially ones who don't agree with the qun and ones who don't support slavery.

• Please just less humans.

• And please, queer romanceable Varric.

• Please Bioware.

My favourite part of Saints Row 3 is the bit where they show us that the boss can't withdraw a million dollars from the atm, as a way of showing the audience that their bank account has been hacked and emptied. Like.. it would have left me with less questions if they had tried to withdraw ten dollars and gotten the insufficient funds pop up. What atm are the saints going to that lets them withdraw a million in cash?

03) How many times you’ve played the games? TOO MANY TIMES. And that’s saying something, as someone who usually only plays a game once or twice lmao (I like trying out new things, ok!). I just checked and I apparently have 798 hours in Inquisition alone. Including DAO & DA2 I would estimate around 1400 hours, hm... wtf@me

04) Favourite race to play as? Elves!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

05) Favourite class? Mage!!!!!!!! Rogues are cool too though I just really can’t do warriors tbh.

06) Do you play through the games differently or do you make the same decisions each time? Depends! I have several characters in each game who make slightly different choices and I stick to them if I re-play them, or I just do something that I don’t ~consider canon~ just because I’m curious. So I’ve tried out most choices by now! Except for DA2, I always do the same in DA2.

07) Go-to adventuring group? DAO: Zevran, Morrigan, Alistair DA2: Anders, Varric, Fenris DAI: Solas, Dorian, Cole is my fave during main quests, but I really don’t have a solid “Go-to group” in DAI tbh. There is so much banter I don’t want to miss, you know! The companion that is always in my group is Solas lmao. :^)

08) Which of your characters did you put the most thought into? Oh boy idk. All of them? Feels weird picking only one. I mean I re-played Alvar the most so I guess her maybe? Idk

09) Favourite romance? *drum roll* SOLAS.

10) Have you read any of the comics/books? The books, yeah! Not all of them yet but I’m on it.

11) If you read them, which was your favourite book? So far the Masked Empire

12) Favourite DLCs? Trespasser. I would even say it’s my fave DLC throughout any game series? The emotional turmoil this one gives me is INSANE. The STORY. The SOUNDTRACK. THE ENDING.... @ everyone who follows me and still hasn’t played DAI & all it’s DLC’s in the Egg romance yet: It enhances your experience SO MUCh. It’s so GOOD. Trust me on this one.

13) Things that annoy you. I can’t smooch Solas casually. What the hell.

14) Orlais or Ferelden? Orlais..... is prettier?

15) Templars or mages? Mages.

16) If you have multiple characters, are they in different/parallel universes or in the same one? It’s both for me! I have a big universe in my head where all of them have their roles and this is also the one I consider the most important, but I also have separate world states for each. It’s just easier sometimes depending on which OC I play.

17) What did you name your pets? (mabari, summoned animals, mounts, etc) Nymeria’s dog: Fang, Cari’s dog: Fluffy, Eleanor’s dog: Sinner. Oh, Cari is also able to summon a Skeleton buddy, I called him Klaus.

18) Have you installed any mods? Yyeeahhhh...

19) Did your Warden want to become a Grey Warden? Nymeria didn’t, but Cari thought it sounds interesting, at least the getting out of the tower part.

20) Hawke’s personality? Eleanor is mostly purple. But she uses blue and red ofc as well, depending on the occasion. (& Lynne is not a Hawke, but she used mostly red, with blues sometimes when she talked to her friends)

21) Did you make matching armor for your companions in Inquisition? Like making them all look the same? No.

22) If your character(s) could go back in time to change one thing, what would they change? Nymeria wouldn’t have made Shianni the Bann of the Alienage, since they killed her for it. Cari wouldn’t change a thing, she believes everything happens for a reason and that she wouldn’t be the person she is today if she would change something. Eleanor would go back and try to save her mother & sister, she would also stop Carver of joining her into the Deep Roads expedition, so that he wouldn’t have to be a Grey Warden now. Lynne would like to have given the DA2 clique a chance earlier, they are bffs now but it took her so long to get her armour off. Alvar keeps thinking about Crestwood and what she could have done or said differently. Falon regrets something that happend with him and his ex boyfriend. He would like to fix that.

23) Do you have any headcanons about your character(s) that go against canon? So many, it’s more fun that way! I have three living Grey Wardens in DAO for example, instead of two, since both Cari & Nymeria get recruited. Or I also have Lynne, who is another member of the Kirkwall crew, without being a Hawke, etc.

24) Who did you leave in the Fade? In my current “canon” it’s Hawke :/. But since switching Cari to the Warden it should be Stroud. So that might change. If I’ll ever be able to let go of the angst. Also if Hawke doesn’t come back in DA4 I’ll do it in an instant.

25) Favourite mount? asjkdhkjsdhs “Pride of Arlathan” but honestly only because of it’s name. I don’t use mounts at all lmao.

01) Favourite game of the series?

I always prefer the first game/song/book/whatever that I am exposed to, so I have to go with DAI.

02) How did you discover Dragon Age?

I was in a GameStop and asked an employee for some suggestions. After I said I liked Assassin’s Creed, he recommended DAI

03) How many times you’ve played the games?

Too Many. I’ve played through DA2 once, DAO twice, and DAI five times though. I’ve started wayyy more than that though.

04) Favourite race to play as?

I gotta say that I like my Qunari babes.

05) Favourite class?

I’m quite fond of rogues, bows and daggers alike. DAO archery was horrific, so I really liked dual wielding warrior. If I’m playing as a Qunari, I have to be a mage. I don’t know why that is, but I just can’t play them as a warrior or rogue.

06) Do you play through the games differently or do you make the same decisions each time?

I make different choices each game because I want to experience all that the game has to offer. Siding with the werewolves in DAO made me feel like a shit, so that’s the only one I refuse to make.

07) Go-to adventuring group?

DAO: Zevran, Morrigan, Alistair/Shale

DA2: Isabela, Aveline, Anders/Merrill

DAI: Vivienne, Blackwall, Sera. Such bicker, much fun.

08) Which of your characters did you put the most thought into?

Brielle. I plan on doing more work on my canon pcs though

No, but I want to. I know a little about their plots and would like to learn more

I am most interested in reading Knight Errant, The Masked Empire, and The Silent Grove

13) Things that annoy you.

Mostly the fandom. Solavellans, Fenris Stans, and Cullenmancers can get a bit much. Not to say that Anders and Mage supporters can’t get wild too; people really go Off(C) on Cullen and those that like him. I like a hefty dose of discourse and analysis, but there’s zero (0) need to threaten others for disagreeing. There’s a lot of the plot that irritates me, like Hawke not being able to support Anders in DAI, Sebastian threatening to invade Kirkwall if you support Anders, the whole “fuck or die” thing that happens for the Dark Ritual (and the coercion is uncomfy), Anders approving of giving Fenris to slavers, blaming the Elves for the Exalted March, whitewashing like every poc character (I fear what Bioware will do to poor Dorian),  Solas, the fact that you can boot Sera out at any time, etc. etc.

14) Orlais or Ferelden?

Even though I hate a lot of the Nation, I have to go with Orlais. Something about the masks and aesthetics of the place just work for me.

15) Templars or mages?

Mages

16) If you have multiple characters, are they in different/parallel universes or in the same one?

I have three worldstates. All the characters in one worldstate exist in one universe, but each worldstate is separate. I do have a few companion ocs that are present in all of the worldstates however. 

17) What did you name your pets? (mabari, summoned animals, mounts, etc)

Talani just named the mabari “Dog” because of course she did, and Cian named the mabari Max.

18) Have you installed any mods?

I played on xbox for the most part, but I’ve abused my laptop into running the games with mods. I think I broke it because of that.

19) Did your Warden want to become a Grey Warden?

(I don’t know how many are familiar with the Brosca origin) Talani never pictured herself becoming a Warden, but comparing her previous life to the potential one made the decision for her. She’s always one for logic and practicality.

20) Hawke’s personality?

Cian is diplomatic

21) Did you make matching armor for your companions in Inquisition?

Sometimes. I always make sure to dye the armor and pick aesthetically pleasing upgrades

22) If your character(s) could go back in time to change one thing, what would they change?

Talani Brosca: Been able to protect Rica better. She’s done many things she regrets while on the surface, but that’s the biggest one.

Cian Hawke: He regrets every mistake he’s ever made. He’s a master of catastrophizing, so he makes everything way bigger than it actually is. Picking one thing would be impossible for him, but Bethany’s death hit him the hardest.

Brielle Lavellan: Prevent the accident that took her leg. While she has come to terms with it by Trespasser, she knows that her life could have been a lot easier without the disability.

23) Do you have any headcanons about your character(s) that go against canon?

I rarely diverge from canon, but there are a few things that I’ve adjusted. The HoF is alive, but the Hero of Amaranthine is Elias Lavellan, Elara Lavellan is the Dalish Advisor for the Inqisition, and a few minor things.

24) Who did you leave in the Fade?

Cian Hawke. There’s some bad blood between Brielle and Hawke from before the Inquisition, and she feels that he should pay. If you’re curious about it, you can find more info on Brielle’s character page. Just go my blog, click on Inquisitors, and click on “page” by Brielle’s nam

01) favorite game of the series? I think Origins is the best in terms of gaming while 2 has the best story.I’m most attached to Inquisition and Origins equally when you boil down to it, I played both a lot and both were huge comforts.

02) how did you discover Dragon Age? All the way in 2009 the game came out to glowing reviews and my interest piqued. During Valentines day 2010 my dad got me a game stop gift card and I bought it. (my parents rock lol.) anyway I played it but it went horribly, I missed leliana and sten in lothering...accidentally killed Irving so sided with the templars...zev betrayed me...it was a mess. It wasn’t until a third play through that I began to love the game.

03) how many times you’ve played the games? Origins: gosh I’ve gotten to the end at least 5 times, but made a lot of characters. 2: probably 3 times with a female hawke and once with a male (for some reason that’s the only game I’ve played as a male as to the end...he romanced merrill.) Inquisition: once again, at least 5.

04) favorite race to play as? Just so happens to turn out my favorite backstories and origins are the human ones, though I tried to make elves. I just couldn’t come up with a character I gravitated toward.

05) favorite class? Story wise: mage, fun to play as and personal enjoyment: rogue.

06) do you play through the games differently or do you make the same decisions each time? Make the same decisions because it feels weird if I don’t, lol. Especially with romances...I get so loyal I can’t romance anyone else. I do though sometimes change up classes for variety.

07) go-to adventuring group? I tend to shuffle a lot, but my most common groups are in DAO: Alistair, Leliana/Zev and Morrigan/Wynne but I love them all and tend to shuffle. DA2: Fenris, Anders, Varric and in DAI: Sera, Vivienne, Cassandra (though again I do a lot of shuffling for variety.)

08) which of your characters did you put the most thought into? Lydia Trevelyan, no question. I wanted to write her story and romance, so I did. :3 

09) favorite romance? DAO: Alistair, DA2: Fenris. DAI and overall: Cullen.

12) favorite DLCs? Hmmm...The Stone Prisoner in Origins, and Jaws of Hakkon! Of course Tresspasser too.

13) things that annoy you. Most are fandom related...not going to lie. But in game I wish Inquisition had more ambient music as you explored, and that missions actually meant something to the war effort other than racking in points. I wish Cullen’s trauma at the winter palace was treated more thoughtfully, and I hate, hate, hate how the inquisitor has to kneel down and loot because it takes FOREVER. I also wish DA2 had a longer development cycle because the game could have been so much more.

Oh I also wish vital story info wasn’t in books/DLCs.

14) Orlais or Ferelden? Aesthetically I like elements of Orlais, I have to pick Ferelden though.

15) templars or mages? Much like bitchesofostwick, all my OCs have, when the games pit one against the other, sided with the mages, but I think the chantry is so bad both groups need reform. (Circles need to function like schools rather than prisons, templars need to know magical defense but serve as protectors and move away from the chantry.) 

That being said Lydia is actually kind of pro templar, more than one may think anyway...in the sense that she thinks they can do better.

16) if you have multiple characters, are they in different/parallel universes or in the same one?In Origins I played through different origins for variety, but I can’t make multiple characters for one game, lol. I find making OCs so fun but time consuming and I love doting all the attention to select few, lol.

17) what did you name your pets? (mabari, summoned animals, mounts, etc) Miranda Cousland’s mabari is Hal after a prince in a book. Rhine Hawke? honestly never given much thought, lol. Probably something simple like Spot (Carver would point out constantly he has no spots and she would say something witty back, ha.) Lydia’s horse is named Pepper. Her and cullen’s mabari is named Cleo.

18) have you installed any mods? i bought inquisition on PC just to use mods and I havent figured it out yet, lol.

19) did your Warden want to become a Grey Warden? NO! In fact she resented it big time because she saw her duty as taking revenge, and Duncan basically gave her a death sentence in her eye. Eventually she kind of succumbs to her duty but if she had things her way, she would never have become a warden. 

20) hawke’s personality? she started off a good purple/blue. In Inquisition she became red.

21) did you make matching armor for your companions in Inquisition? No but maybe I should, lol.

22) if your character(s) could go back in time to change one thing, what would they change?  Miranda would make sure Howe never did what he did. Rhine would stop Meredith sooner. Lydia would make sure (SPOILER) her ex boyfriend Asher never became a red templar.

23) do you have any headcanons about your character(s) that go against canon?Miranda meets Lydia at Skyhold and is the Warden contact. there’s a big party at skyhold and lydia makes an epic speech. this is a big one: Rhine loves Fenris, but he leaves like he always does, and she knows Anders loves her to death so she gets with him. Ultimately though they have a mutual break up, and she goes back to fenris a month later. (they’re endgame) this makes her feel extra responsible for the chantry explosion. (She approves of sending the message...just not that way lol.)

24) are any of your character(s) based on someone? Well Lydia is the most like me, but the more time I have spent with her the less I find us identical. I made Mira/Rhine as different as I could, but none are really based on anyone. Maybe parts of Lydia are based on Lauren Bacall/Vivien Leigh, more old hollywood ladies <3 

25) who did you leave in the Fade? In game always Stroud. Or sometimes Hawke. In my story it’s Hawke :( sorry all i thrived on the drama.

da:i definitely has like, the most nostalgia value to me? but the characters from da2 are my absolute favorite so i’d have to say a tie between those two

soph ( @triforks ) introduced me to da:i back in like 2016 or smth i think? and i thought was cool but kinda forgot abt it again, but then early last year another friend introduced me to the tavern songs and i started listening to the soundtrack too and i knew I Had To Own It Immediately

03) How many times you’ve played the games?

ah shit ... well first of all ive never actually completed da:o, bc i didnt get properly into until after i hurt my wrist, so it’s been like impossible to actually do so. i think ive completed da2 three times (julian, agnes, flynn), i would’ve played it more if i hadnt hurt my wrist toward the end of agnes’s playthrough. and then da:i ive played .. i think 7 times all the way through? (elinor, athel x4, althea, axeline)

elvira wasnt entirely against the idea, but when it came down to it i think things like having kids and growing old were a part of her plan that she wasnt expecting to have taken away from her. i wouldnt say she regrets becoming a warden, bc the work she’s doing is important, but i do think she wishes she’d been able to make more of an informed choice, or really have a choice at all

elinor would have run away with sera before corypheus showed up in haven

axel would have never said a word to solas after he taught her to seal rifts

and athel wouldnt change anything, i think. redcliffe showed him the importance of details and of people, and i think no matter how much he regrets something or wishes it hadn’t happened, he knows that things might have turned out much worse if it hadn’t

idk if it really goes against canon specifically, but a big part of agnes’s character arc (in my head, at least) was how terrified she was of becoming an abomination. a lot of what she did was motivated by the need to stay in control of herself and the fear of turning into the very thing that was used as an excuse to oppress her people

01) Favourite game of the series?

Overall, Inquisition. The CC is pretty good, hair options notwithstanding. I think the story adds an incredible amount of lore. I actually don’t mind the open world aspect, it truly doesn’t feel any more empty that Skyrim imo.

DA2 had the most fun combat for me. Origins had a bunch of elements I like but I played it so far after it’s release that it’s always going to be visually dated in my head and not in an endearing way.

02) How did you discover Dragon Age?

My partner let me borrow some games when we first started dating, Dragon Age Origins among them. I played it, really enjoyed it, but moved on to a few other games in the stack like Fable and ME3.

The summer of 2017, I think, I saw him playing DA2 and wanted in. I tried it, didn’t like it, so he suggested Inquisition. And yeah, here we are. (I did go back and play DA2 after 1 & 3 and I liked it!)

03) How many times you’ve played the games?

DAO: 3?

DA2: 1.5

DAI: I’ve finished Trespasser twice, started a bunch of half-finished playthroughs though.

04) Favourite race to play as?

It’s fairly obvious that elves are my favorite. I feel no shame about that. They’re so damn cute.

05) Favourite class?

Rogue

06) Do you play through the games differently or do you make the same decisions each time?

I tend to make similar choices in DAI, but it’s definitely more fun to mix things up in the first two games.

07) Go-to adventuring group?

DAO: Leliana, Alistair, Shale.

DA2: Fenris, Isabela, Merrill.

DAI: Blackwall, Solas, and I usually mix it up between Dorian, Cassandra, and Sera.

08) Which of your characters did you put the most thought into?

Definitely Ayelet. I’ve spent the most time with her and her creation was in response to a character I wasn’t super happy with in the first place.

09) Favourite romance?

DAO: Alistair

DA2: Merrill’s is so so so cute.

DAI: Solas, which is no surprise to anyone.

10) Have you read any of the comics/books?

I’ve read some comics, am currently listening to the Masked Empire in audio book form but MY GOD is Weekes’s writing a slog to get through. I also have World of Thedas v2 and Hard in Hightown!

11) If you read them, which was your favourite book?

I absolutely love flipping through World of Thedas. The art, the obscure info, THE ENTIRE CHANT OF LIGHT

12) Favourite DLCs?

DAO: I’ve only played the DLC with Shale and tbh I doubt another one can top it.

DA2: Again, I’ve only played the one with Sebastian. And he’s bae anyway.

DAI: Jaws of Hakkon. The scenery is beautiful, the folks of Stone-bear Hold are gems, and the feels?? Perfection.

13) Things that annoy you.

The washed out look of DAO, and how very slow combat is.

I absolutely hate the look of elves in DA2. In Origins they barely have pointed ears, and suddenly they’re green toned, huge-eyed folks that don’t have any differentiation between their foreheads and nose bridge.

Some of the retcons on DAI are annoying. 3 mages per Dalish clan? That’s a no from me, dawg.

14) Orlais or Ferelden?

Considering all the beautiful land Orlais has usurped, I’d have to go with Orlais just for the scenery. However, the politics are Stupid.

15) Templars or mages?

Mages, but my characters typically aren’t concerned with the conflict between the two.

16) If you have multiple characters, are they in different/parallel universes or in the same one?

They’re all in the same universe! I only have one canon Warden, Champion, and Inquisitor, but the rest of my crew play roles within the same universe.

17) What did you name your pets? (mabari, summoned animals, mounts, etc)

The Warden’s mabari is Barkspawn (it’s a basic meme now, I know and I don’t care).

Ayelet has two pets: a cat named Vherise and her mount, a red hart called Nema.

18) Have you installed any mods?

I have a very very unorganized mod folder, yes.

19) Did your Warden want to become a Grey Warden?

No, Myri would never have chosen that life for herself outside of the circumstances of the game.

20) Hawke’s personality?

Purple.

21) Did you make matching armor for your companions in Inquisition?

No, I like when everyone sticks to their own aesthetic. I change their colorways a bit though. Sera gets black and pink everything. Viv gets the fancy silver fabric. Dorian looks so good in green.

22) If your character(s) could go back in time to change one thing, what would they change?

Myriani would have found some way for Jowan to escape. Ayelet would have tried to save her friends and clan mates at the conclave.

23) Do you have any headcanons about your character(s) that go against canon?

Not really as far as Myri is concerned. Even after DAO, the canon story of the Warden holds true for her. After a short period of traveling she becomes Warden-Commander of Ferelden, continues her relationship with Alistair, he goes to Orlais, eventually her higher-ups ask her to investigate a cure for the taint or at least the Calling in the West. And that suits my larger timeline just fine.

Ayelet has a few small differences. Mainly with regards to Dalish clan life and customs, her romance, and a lengthened timeline for Inquisition. How exactly are we meant to believe all of those things take place in only a year?????

24) Are any of your character(s) based on someone?

Ayelet is like 50% a self-insert, I guess. She has a different personality, and totally different face. But we have the same hair and some commonalities in background. It just makes it easy to get into her head.

25) Who did you leave in the Fade?

I leave Hawke. Meta af, but I feel like Hawke is supposed to be left there as part of their arc. Something tells me Hawke will survive while a warden might not.

26) Favourite mount?

Any of the harts. That screeching gives me life.

01) Favourite game of the series?

I know this is the “wrong” answer, but I’m going to have to say Inquisition.  It has its problems, but it has the least amount of moments I dread during replays.  Also I like being able to put a podcast or audiobook on as I wander through pretty landscapes.

02) How did you discover Dragon Age?

Back in 2011-2012, by gf bought a copy of origins and I watched them play some of it before buying the game myself.  I couldn’t get into it the first time I played (I was 100% in fnv hell at that point) so I dropped it for a while.  I played it on and off for the next few years, but it didn’t grab me until some of my friends in the fnv rp community got into Dragon Age when Inquisition came out.  I bought Inquisition, made Mihika and I’ve been in another hell ever since.  (okay i didn’t fully get into the dragon age fandom until like 2017 because i didn’t think i was good enough but ye)

03) How many times you’ve played the games?

Not counting games I only started for screenshots or for bullshit reasons:

Origins: Somewhere in the double digits?  I replayed Shava multiple times so it’s hard to say. Also I know I have other playthroughs on my old pc so there’s probably a lot I’m forgetting.

DA2: Just more than 5 probably.  I skip it when I can.

DAI: Probably same as Origins.  It’s a longer game so I don’t have the same amount of finished playthroughs, but I did start a lot of dudes.

04) Favourite race to play as?

I am a basic bitch who loves elves.  Actually, I’ve been loving playing as a dwarf lately, but elves have more custom content and I learned that I am unable to play without mods.

05) Favourite class?

Origins: Rogue, dual daggers.  All the combat is kind of clunky, but rogue feels the smoothest to me.

DA2: Mage.  The attacks just feel so much bigger in this game, it’s so satisfying.  (Although it does lose its charm after you have to fight off the 16th wave of enemies but I digress).

DAI: I enjoy playing as an archer, but I also love that chain thing warriors can do.  Any abilities that require me to move as little as possible.

06) Do you play through the games differently or do you make the same decisions each time?

I mean...I hope my characters are different?  Some of them make similar choices, but I like to mix it up each time.

07) Go-to adventuring group?

This is a boring answer, but it depends on who I’m playing as.  But I always have to have one of each class (regardless of what I’m playing as), and I have to choose them in the order of Warrior, Mage, Rogue.

08) Which of your characters did you put the most thought into?

I projected a lot of my mixed race baggage onto Otho, if that’s what you mean.

Basically most of my wardens and inquisitors became actual characters of mine that I’ve used in other projects, so that’s something I guess.

09) Favourite romance?

DAO: Either Leliana or Morrigan.

DA2: Anders’ romance had more of an effect on my Hawke’s story, but I like Merril more.

DAI: Same as above, but with Solas instead of Anders and Josephine instead of Merril.

10) Have you read any of the comics/books?

I read the first two novels and I did pick up Knight Errant because I was promised Meredith and I was disappointed when she was not there, but at least her booty was.

11) If you read them, which was your favourite book?

Stolen Throne made me like and appreciate Loghain more.

12) Favourite DLCs?

DAO: Witch Hunt.  Not for the gameplay, but for my very good friends.

DA2: Uh...Sebastian is cool.  I like him.

DAI: The one that gives you the armor that shows your belly.

13) Things that annoy you.

I...think I’m just going to skip this one because this post is salty/long enough.

14) Orlais or Ferelden?

Orlais is pretty, okay.  It’s problematic, yes.  But it’s pretty.

I like masks.

15) Templars or mages?

I personally agree with the mages and I only sided with the Templars because it was in-line with my character’s motivations, but y’all need to stop acting like how people answer this question is a reflection of how they treat marginalized people in real life.

16) If you have multiple characters, are they in different/parallel universes or in the same one?

I could make a spreadsheet about this so...glossing over this too.  Maybe later, in a less long post.

17) What did you name your pets? (mabari, summoned animals, mounts, etc)

Shava named her dog Lumps (she also has a hairless cat named Scrunt), Mirynn named her dog Wiggles (although her oc profile says Dusty, this was a mistake), Natascha named her dog Dan, and Zaryn named her dog Aedogcan.

My only other oc with a pet is Mihika, who named her giant nug, Nuglas.

18) Have you installed any mods?

They crash my game but I can’t play without them.

19) Did your Warden want to become a Grey Warden?

Shava: No. Talassan: Yes. Joyce: Eh...? Mirynn: YES Zaryn: Beats dyin’

20) Hawke’s personality?

I prefer blue or red tbh.  I know people love purple hawke, but I just couldn’t get into it.  Maybe it’s different with the female pc?  I’ll have to see when I get to Marjorie’s playthrough.

I don’t do matching (except for one time I made all of my companions wear plaidweave and it was gr8), but I do like making custom outfits for my friends.

22) If your character(s) could go back in time to change one thing, what would they change?

Oooo....this is another long essay-length post.

Ditto.  I have a lot of this.

24) Are any of your character(s) based on someone?

I do have faceclaims, but as far as exact influence, the only one I can think of right now is that Sorrel was partially inspired by my senior year math teacher.

I know this looks like it’s just me bashing da2 for 1000000 words, but usually hawke lmao
