Four years after their launch, the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge are officially cut off from software support from Samsung. Both phones were on a quarterly Security update cycle and received the March 2020 security patch just last month but are now nowhere to be found on Samsung’s Android Security Updates device database. Not all Galaxy S7 members are left out though as the Galaxy S7 active is still in line to receive quarterly security patches but likely not for much longer. The S7 and S7 edge launched with Android 6.0 Marshmallow back in 2016 and got two full Android version updates up until 2018 with Android 8.0 Oreo. After that, Samsung kept providing security updates up until last month. चैतन्य भारत न्यूज कैलिफोर्निया. 2009 से लेकर 2018 तक एंड्रॉयड के हर वर्जन का नाम मिठाई पर रखने वाले गूगल ने आखिरकार यह परंपरा तोड़ने का फैसला कर लिया है। अमेरिकी टेक्नोलॉजी कंपनी गूगल ने मोबाइल ऑपरेटिंग सिस्टम एंड्रॉयड के अगले वर्जन का नाम एंड्रॉयड-10 रख दिया है। इससे पहले एंड्रॉयड के जितने भी आधिकारिक वर्जन लॉन्च हुए थे, सबका नाम किसी मिठाई या मीठी चीज के नाम पर ही रखा गया था। नामकरण का यह तरीका इतना लोकप्रिय हो गया था कि जब भी एंड्रॉयड का नया वर्जन लॉन्च होने वाला होता था लोग इसे लेकर कयास लगाते रहते थे। कई वेबसाइट्स तो सिर्फ इसलिए बनाई जाती थी कि वहां जाकर लोग अनुमान लगाएं कि एंड्रॉयड के अगले वर्जन का नाम किस मिठाई के नाम पर रखा जाएगा। अब इस बड़े बदलाव को लेकर गूगल का कहना है कि उसने अब तक जो भी नाम चुने, उनमें से कुछ ऐसे थे जिसका मतलब दुनिया के कई देशों के लोग समझ ही नहीं पाते थे क्योंकि कोई भी मिठाई हर देश में पसंद की जाती हो, प्रचलित हो यह जरूरी नहीं है। कंपनी ने अब यह फैसला किया है कि नए वर्जन का नाम ऐसा रखा जाए जो हर कोई सहजता से समझ सके। अब एपल के आपरेटिंग सॉफ्टवेयर आईओएस की तरह यूजर्स को इस नए वर्जन को समझना आसान होगा। संभावना जताई जा रही है कि अगले कुछ हफ्तों में एंड्रॉयड-10 को नए यूजर्स के लिए जारी किया जा सकता है। गौरतलब है कि वर्जन के नाम वाली सारी मिठाइयां विदेशी रहीं। एंड्रॉयड का पहला आधिकारिक वर्जन एंड्रॉयड 1.5 था। कंपनी के एक प्रोग्राम मैनेजर ने इसे कपकेक का नाम दिया। कपकेक अंग्रेजी अल्फाबेट के अक्षर सी से शुरू होता है। इसके बाद जितने भी वर्जन लॉन्च हुए, उसका नाम का अल्फाबेट अगले अक्षर के ऊपर रखा गया। कपकेक के बाद डोनट (डी), इक्लेयर (ई) आदि लॉन्च हुए। नए वर्जन का नाम एंड्रॉयड क्यू की जगह एंड्रॉयड-10 तय किया गया है। अब तक ये वर्जन लॉन्च हुए वर्ष 2009- कपकेक (उत्तरी अमेरिका की मिठाई) वर्ष 2009- डोनट (नीदरलैंड) वर्ष 2009- इक्लेयर (फ्रांस) वर्ष 2010- फ्रोयो (भारत-मध्य एशिया) वर्ष 2010- जिंजरब्रेड (जर्मनी) वर्ष 2011- हनीकॉम्ब वर्ष 2011- आइसक्रीम सैंडविच (अमेरिका) वर्ष 2012- जेलीबीन (अमेरिका) वर्ष 2013- किटकैट (ब्रिटेन) वर्ष 2014- लॉलीपॉप (जर्मनी, नीदरलैंड) वर्ष 2015- मार्शमेलो (फ्रांस) वर्ष 2016- नोगट (स्पेन) वर्ष 2017- ओरियो (अमेरिका) वर्ष 2018- पाई (उत्तरी यूरोप)     Read the full article

The details come courtesy of a Kaspersky researcher (spotted by Ars Technica), who discovered that the malware downloads a rootkit that primarily affects Android versions 6-7 — somehow affecting Chinese phones more than others. Once it has root privileges, it directly installs malware to the system partition that is capable of re-infecting the phone at any time, and it's especially pernicious and difficult to remove. That's because usually the system partition can't be written to. During normal system operation, it's mounted as read-only, so a user can't simply uninstall an app to get rid of all the malware's many tendrils, it's buried deep inside together with the components your phone needs to work. Furthermore, the files the malware writes are given an additional immutable attribute, so even a rooted user in the know can't easily muck them out. But that's not the only trick up xHelper's sleeve, it also modifies internal Android system libraries to disable mounting the system partition in write mode at all, and outright uninstalls root-friendly apps like Superuser that might make the process a little easier. You can remove the malware via recovery — either by completely reflashing the device with stock images or through a more tedious replacement of the compromised system components for manual removal — but even then, some of the factory images for these cheap Chinese devices come loaded with malware which simply pulls down xHelper all over again. चीन की एक स्मार्टफोन बनाने कंपनी ने इंडिया में एंट्री की है। चाइनीज इलेक्ट्रॉनिक कंपनी iVOOMi ने भारत में स्मार्टफोन्स के साथ एंट्री की है। कंपनी ने बताया है कि इंडियन मार्केट में वह मिड से लो रेंज के स्मार्टफोन्स लेकर आई है।

iVOOMi ने शुरुआत अपने पहले स्मार्टफोन iV505 के साथ की है, जिसकी कीमत 3,999 रुपए है। इस फोन को ShopClues के जरिए बेचा जाएगा। बिक्री 10 मार्च से शुरू होगी।

iVoomi के ग्लोबल बिजनेस हेड Bradley Yan के मुताबिक, ‘हम iVOOMi को भारतीय मार्केट में स्थापित करने के लिए नए प्रॉडक्ट्स प्री-लोडेड SmartMe OS (कस्टमाइज्ड OS) और फीचर्स के साथ अफॉर्डेबल कीमत पर लाएंगे।’

iVoomi iV505 ड्यूल सिम (माइक्रो-सिम) वाला स्मार्टफोन है और दोनों स्लॉट्स पर 4G सिमकार्ड्स को सपोर्ट करता है। यह 4G VoLTE सपॉर्ट करता है और इस पर जियो की सर्विसेज इस्तेमाल की जा सकती हैं। फोन एंड्रॉयड 6.0 मार्शमैलो को सपोर्ट करता है और इसमें 5 इंच की (540×960 पिकस्ल्स) IPS डिस्प्ले लगी है। फोन में 1.3 गीगाहर्ट्ज का क्वैड-कोर प्रोसेसर और 1जीबी की रैम लगी है।

कैमरा की बात करें, तो इसमें फ्लैश के साथ बैक कैमरा 5 मेगापिक्सल है और फ्रंट भी 5-मैगापिक्सल का ही है। फोन की इंटरनल मेमरी 8 जीबी है और 128 जीबी तक का माइक्रोएसडी कार्ड इसमें लगाया जा सकता है। 4जी के अलावा इसमें ब्लूटूथ, जीपीएस/ए-जीपीएस, माइक्रो-यूएसबी पोर्ट और फ्लैश चार्जिंर्ग टेक्नोलॉजी सपोर्ट के साथ 3000 mAh बैटरी लगी है।

इसके अलावा कंपनी 4,000 रुपए से 10,000 रुपए की कीमत के बीच 4 और नए स्मार्टफोन लॉन्च करने की योजना बना रही है, साथ ही कंपनी साल 2019 तक इंडिया में रिसर्च ऐंड डिवेलपमेंट और मैन्युफैक्चरिंग यूनिट्स भी स्थापित करना चाहती है।

Verizon is currently rolling out Android 6.0 Marshmallow update to Motorola Droid Maxx 2. This update available via OTA brings the firmware version to 24.64.4.

This update brings all Marshmallow improvements including new battery-smart features and enhanced app permissions. Marshmallow brings “Now on Tap” for instant access to useful information anywhere, and a power saving feature called Doze, which puts your smartphone into a deep sleep when you are not using it to prevent apps and services from draining its battery. Direct Share is another new feature introduced with this update that lets you share directly to a contact or in a conversation within an app. There are also various fixes and improvements under the hood that should make your handset snappier and more stable.

In addition to the typical features like Doze and Now on Tap, we also get an improved Moto Assist for “do not disturb” mode. In this update, the Ambient Display mode have been migrated to Moto Display and you can access it by tapping the Moto app, then the icon in the top right corner of the screen, go to Display and tap the switch at the top.

If you have a Droid Maxx 2 on Verizon then you can download the update via over-the-air now. Please remember that Verizon is currently releasing the update in batches, and it may take a few days for all of Verizon’s Droid Maxx 2 units to receive the Marshmallow update in that fashion.

Tap “Yes, I’m in” to start downloading the software update.

Once the software update has finished downloading, Tap Install now.

Your phone will restart automatically after the install.

If you did not receive a notification message for this software update, follow the steps below to manually update your phone:
