Se Buscaâ Campaign Nets Another Criminal Arrest

Introduction
The U.S. Border Patrol's El Paso Sector has confirmed a significant victory in their ongoing campaign against transnational crime, announcing the arrest of another âSe Busca InformaciĂłnâ target over the weekend, a result of crucial tips from the public.
Successful Capture in Collaboration
Key Arrest of âEl Pitufoâ On December 31, the FiscalĂa General del Estado de Chihuahua (FGE) â Chihuahuaâs State Attorney Generalâs Office confirmed the capture of âEP1,â a 39-year-old Mexican national known by the alias âEl Pitufo.â This arrest, made in Torreon, Coahuila, was a collaborative effort between the Coahuila FGE and various Mexican law enforcement entities, triggered by information provided through the âSe Busca InformaciĂłnâ tip-line. âEl Pitufoâ has an extensive criminal history, including aggravated homicide, making this arrest a significant achievement in the ongoing battle against crime. Â
Impact of the âSe Busca InformaciĂłnâ Campaign
Strengthening Border Security This latest apprehension marks the third arrest from the current âSe Busca InformaciĂłnâ target list. Since the campaign's inception in late October, a total of five criminals have been arrested due to information provided by the public. The âSe Busca InformaciĂłnâ initiative, translating to "look for information" in English, identifies individuals linked to transnational criminal organizations, sought for various crimes by both U.S. and Mexican law enforcement, including human smuggling, narcotics, weapons trafficking, and murder. Â Bi-National Efforts and Community Involvement This bi-national initiative between the United States and Mexico is a testament to the power of community involvement and international cooperation. By encouraging public reporting of information about wanted criminals, the initiative aims to disrupt and displace members of criminal organizations that pose threats to communities on both sides of the border. Â
The Role of Community Tips and Technology
Confidential Reporting and Advanced Technology The initiative empowers individuals to confidentially report information about the targets to law enforcement at 915-314-8194. Additionally, the public may also provide information via the âWhatsAppâ application, with phone lines open 24 hours a day. These reports are directly managed by the El Paso Sector Border Patrol call centers, ensuring anonymity and safety for informants. Â
Leadership and Partnership
Acknowledging Bi-National Cooperation U.S. Border Patrol El Paso Sector Chief Patrol Agent Anthony âScottâ Good expressed gratitude for the partnership with the Government of Mexico and officials from the state of Chihuahua. He emphasized that the campaign's success is a direct result of the information provided by citizens and the strong bi-national law enforcement cooperation, underlining the commitment to a safer and more secure border region. Â
Encouraging Public Participation
Communityâs Role in Safety U.S. Customs and Border Protection continues to welcome assistance from the community. Citizens are encouraged to report suspicious activity to the U.S. Border Patrol while remaining anonymous by calling 1-800-635-2509. This engagement plays a crucial role in maintaining safety and security in border areas. Â Conclusion The recent arrest under the âSe Busca InformaciĂłnâ initiative illustrates the effective collaboration between the U.S. and Mexico in tackling transnational crime. It also highlights the vital role of community participation in enhancing border security. This ongoing effort symbolizes a united front against criminal activities, paving the way for a more secure and safe environment in the border region.
