Faith couldn't bring herself to meet her brother's eye, even knowing full well that it was a sign of weakness. She couldn't do it, not when that murderous glint was strong enough for her to feel it even without seeing.

"I know Avri… I'm sorry… I'm just not strong enough." Not strong enough to look him in the eye when he got like this, or to prevent herself from shaking. "Not like you."

Zelda sat quietly as they watched Faiyathel  browse through books within the castle library gentle light spills into the room coming in from outside. She loved being here if she had things their way they'd he here all the time and that was exactly why she was grateful for this moment. Those little moments in which they could step away from their duty. Particularly this moment as they felt they hardly knew Faiyathel. Yet her brother is their knight and still she didn't exactly know their sister.

Hands folded in her lap a neutral look upon their face not wanting her to know how he felt how awful she felt about that. Why now when it was most convenient? Perhaps it was a bit late. Zelda knew one thing was certain they did owe them this time. As the princess they are supposed to know their people. They would not only be their queen one day but also their friend too. No matter what she requested they would answer.

Glass frogs were rare in their natural form, never mind the supernatural variety that actually ate sand and converted it into glass. This one was lovely, an old variety, with marbling of various glass colours from years of dyed sands and other metallic contaminants. And there within her belly was vibrant little pearls, eggs nestling against glass organs, a new generation to bring home to the sanctuary.
