Do you think Suguru could have lived a happy, good life had he just stayed in the countryside, away from Jujutsu society, or is fate cruel enough to doom him regardless of the path he had taken?

I DO ….. the thing is that this would sort of Have to be an au where curses don’t exist, because there is no universe where suguru chooses not to integrate into jujutsu society (and in doing so there is no Escape). he would see it as a responsibility as well as a chance to free himself from what he’s been bound to all his life — it must’ve been just . horrific growing up seeing curses and having nobody understand or believe you. maybe his mother did, maybe she didn’t. and living in the countryside on top of that ……..

well it doesn’t matter all i’m saying is ! there is no world where suguru has his cursed technique and doesn’t become a sorcerer. it doesn’t exist. it’s very telling that the two choices he envisioned when he was at his absolute lowest were to either stay in the rat race of jujutsu high (a choice that Would have ended in him dying. there’s no debating this) or leave and choose the path of extremity — there was no thought of leaving it behind him. suguru needs to be needed. i say it a lot but it’s seriously true and like. the saddest thing about him. i would say the biggest cause of his defection aside from the curse eating and isolation was his own sense of worthlessness.

….. sorry started yapping lol ANYWAYYY if he was capable of moving away . from it somehow — if he really made that choice (tho as . has been established he just Wouldn’t) then yes, i think it could have saved him. i really really hate the idea that he was doomed to fall or die because that line of thinking sort of glosses over the fact that he was a victim of sickening circumstances. he’s quite literally a child soldier and the adults in his life all fucking suck i hope yaga dies Anyway ^_^ . sorry but yeah i personally hate that idea and reject it whole-heartedly as a rule of thumb… i think suguru could only have been saved through community and satoru in particular but like …. if he moved away from it i do think he could maybe heal in some sense of the word. live far away, with nanako or mimiko. or maybe shoko or haibara. (satoru couldn’t leave if he tried.) pretend he isn’t rotting with guilt. it could work
