Have you ever done any world building or storywriting, accompanied by drawing? If not, is there anything similar you have conceptualized mentally but haven’t yet put a pen to?

I have!! One of my better fleshed-out worlds is an Urban Fantasy story called Greenport, the name of the fictional american city in which most of the events take place.

It's not all that groundbreaking a concept - it holds the classic trope of supernatural beings and elements existing in secret alongside the mundane - but I think I managed to think up a coherency in the way the universe functions that makes it grounded in a pretty realistic way. I have a whole (but simplistic) 'encyclopedia' I started writing on my discord server to explain exactly how it works, of which you may have a sneak peek until I finish it properly:

This is the very basic rundown of the universe, and I go more in-depth in those links about each of the realities, which themselves usually have more links wherein I give details about the species from those worlds, so on and so forth. I love overexplaining details sometimes.

My main characters for this story are Marc and Pernelle, a demon and its summoner to whom he taught the secrets of alchemy. I love them to bits. Marc has a True Form that I had shown you a while back!

My issue with storytelling is that I feel pretty good at imagining universes and characters, the way they work and evolve within their environment... But I feel very lacking when it comes to crafting solid and specific scenarios. I'll tend to have overarching themes and directions, some specific scenes in mind (often 'the cool factor' or 'big character evolution moments'), but building off that into something that would actually function as a Proper Story to share is much more difficult. No matter the format!

But until, if ever, I manage to build this story in a solid enough way to become the novel I imagine it being, I've made it into a universe for my friends and I to play with, in a roleplaying server. It's been dormant a while due to me getting busy with life and all, but... I do have plans. I just have to tackle them and bring it back to life eventually ♥

I'm afraid to say, everyone here has only scratched the surface of my AU. The concepts and story snippets get scrambled together.

But that all will end this week.

This week, I'm going to give you all story that I have thought of. I'm going to write more chapters of Our World's Delusion, and redesign every character that I feel like needs it (aka every character)

I'm remaking the character sheet template and getting rid of a few things. A few weeks ago or smth idk I posted a small announcement saying that I was going to rewrite story. Well now I am going through with that promise.

So here's important stuffs

In the middle of writing this I suddenly got really hungry and had a burst of energy but anyway

This isn't exactly overworking me, since I'm a procrastinator and work on projects slowly. Heck, I've been working on this AU for the whole summer. Probably the longest I've worked on an AU by myself or even with help (+ideas but anyway)

Character redesigns won't necessarily be CREEPY creepy, but it'll get around the theme I wanted to do.

Ships tho? I dunno. For now I won't add them and am taking requests, so if ya want I can draw whatever ship ya want with any current designs

But lastly before I'm done and you're happy you can finally move on if you have the curse of reading bc you don't know if it's a separate post or not (like me)

Scuttling out from my cave to say hey, I do still have a fucktonne of DA stuff I'm writing and drawing however JoJo currently has me in a vice grip. DA will always be something I create for at least for the foreseeable future, I just have to follow my brain where it leads me. I know I keep constantly being like I prommie I will have stuff to share but TRULY I do prommie, I have a good handful of art pieces that all just need a couple hours each to finish and then I could actually share them but I must wait until my brain wants to focus on them again. This took forever. Was it mildly out of my skill set as an artist? Yes. Did that stop me? Almost.

Awaaaah! Im doing pretty ok!!! Taking time to answer this as a wind down from Emerald Weapon Ex Brain Soupage. And I’m so glad! ;W; I think I butchered one of those “Get To Know An OC” thingies- uhh… oh [this one] actually! I chopped a lot out and I think added a couple different thingums instead because there was so much to that that it felt overwhelming to try to look at let alone fill out LOL but it was a really good jumping off point uvu;

And!!! Hilariously Chuu was my First XIV Character, so she’s dear to my heart for being the first one- but she very quickly made it known being the WOL even as an AU was something of a Joke (Her character showed great reluctance and even frustration at having to do So Much World Saving, maybe a side-effect of me rushing through MSQ to catch up with my other spouse [Who plays Talia, though they’ve got less time for XIV these days ;0;] and the rest of my friends who were all EndGame already at the time in Shadowbringers fhdjfjsjfs.) So I made…… many alts. Throwing spaghetti at the wall but I have SEVERE side-character/NPC brain and kept making “supporting cast” types =w=; it actually took me like. 3? Alts before making an ACTUAL WoL with my husband (Ishi’li and Kizuna) (as of Right Meow, they’re in post ARR, but we’ve been working on Keathan and Tuesday together because Keathan was… Keathan’s first character in xiv XD so we’ve been jaunting through the story together and experiencing every inch of it so we can pick and choose what The Boys™ get up to when we wanna focus on them x3)

🥰 I knew both speece during at least high school- but I actually knew Keathan as early as Elementary school hehe 😌 tho the speece didn’t proper marry until… i’unno, 2017? (For frustrating legal reasons, I’m not legally married, but. As it goes. Someday we’ll have money to visit the one state that has legal poly marriages. Also I struggle to remember our wedding year 🫢)

Since managing to make a Co-WoL with my husband I’ve managed to make one other Alt meant to be a Solo-WoL (Mochiie) but I have to really wrinkle my brain to sink time into playing him, since I’m trying to take screenshots throughout the story at what I find to be inspiring beats xD And even still he has an alt-universe where he’s just a side-character for the ‘Main Timeline’ (where there’s a bunch of spaghetti and like 8+ confirmed WoL’s and the Msq entourage looks HILARIOUS in canon, someday I’ll get all the data together and take pictures, but I think it’ll cook what’s left of my brain x’3) [it’s less concrete than anything I’ve posted about before or I’d try to explain it ;v;’ it’s just interesting mostly to see how the story gets stretched to fit around a larger community of heroes than a solo guy shouldering the whole burden lmfao.]

I like giving you ideas! You as a giant sea beast woman, serving an ocean goddess. Rising up from the sea beneath ships that are trespassing on her realm. Not destroying them, but playing them, and anyone on there. Maybe even taking some tinies that strike your fancy with you... and one day, you maybe get confronted by the goddess you serve about this? But instead of punishing you for it, she makes herself big as well, and you two play together with the tinies.

Or alternatively, you just rising from the sea on a beach, slamming boobs down on a it to the general shock of people there

as far as serving an ocean goddess as a sea monster, a two giant option does sound plenty fun, especially if different heights are involved. i’m also thinking something along less-friendly lines sounds fun too lmao. summoned to feast upon crews responsible for oil spills or shark finning, for example. preying upon those who thought the depths were theirs for the plundering. then maybe comforting the ever doting little goddess who always provides for her creatures.
