Shifting can be escapism, and that's OK.

Im going to give you a valuable lesson, so stick to the post, dont skip because every word is important. Don't let that small attention span get to you baby, remember that knowledge is power.

Escapism, guilt for shifting, realising you're worthy of shifting.

The self determination theory (SDT) is a psychological theory of motivation. It focuses on the degree to which specific human behaviour is for the self ; self motivated and self determined

Basically, what exactly is it that a human being can do, that isn't manipulated by outside influence, but rather their own human nature?

According to the theory these are 3 self motivated human behaviours:

Autonomy

Having the freedom to decide your actions without outside influence.

Example: Being able to go out with your friends, without your parents restricting you.

Competence

The ability to do something effectively and be useful.

Example: You're a very useful employee at your company, this means you are competent for your job.

Relatedness

Being connected or related to someone, or something.

Example: Having a connection with family or friends

OK, so how does any of this apply to shifting and escapism?

When you lack one of any of these 3 behaviours or feelings, this is a disruption your human nature. Naturally by birth, you are within your birth right to recieve all of this.

Each of these behaviours, have extreme importance in your cognitive behaviour

- Cognitive behaviors are thoughts, ideas, and representations of yourself to others.

If you don't have the will or ability to control your actions independently, you are most likely going to feel stuck, and like everything is out of your control. Doing things that make you happy and activities you find meaningful, will become an issue due to your lack of autonomy.

If you don't feel competent in areas of your life, or people aren't competent when it comes to you, this can create low self esteem and a bad self concept, you may think of yourself as "worthless" "useless" or "incompetent"

You may feel less motivated to taking on new challenges and activities, as you feel like you're just going to fail, and mess everything up anyways.

Connection is what makes us human, love and empathy towards overs and receiving it, is what makes human life so special. Relatedness, is what you need to experience caring relationships, to be part of a community, and overall to feel love. Humans need love, that is a fact.

When these basic needs aren't met, a human being can lack the motivation to commit to any one of these factors, which take up a huge part in life.

Lacking these can make you feel, stressed, anxious, self loath and nihilistic.

When you don't have these 3 factors, this causes a lack of motivation to commit to them, which means you don't have them.

So you turn to something else, escapism.

"Escapism is the tendency to distract oneself from real-life problems. It can also be conceived as shutting meanings out of one's mind and freeing oneself from self-awareness for a while . Escapism has been identified as one of the key drivers behind online behaviors, in both adaptive and maladaptive ways"

Think of escapism like touching a hot stove. Imagine you place your hand upon a stove. At first its cold, and you're fine.

Then the temperature starts to slowly rise, its currently warm, its still fine you can deal with it. Now, it's getting hotter, and hotter, and hotter...

And you remove your hand.

Not on purpose, but by instinct.

By reflex, your hand immediately moved away from the stove once it got too hot.

Your nervous system felt the pain, which sent a signal to the brain, that something with your hand is wrong.

Biology isn't my strong suit I fear.

Another example.

You're in immediate danger, there's a tsunami coming your way, it's too big for you to face, if you stay where you are, you're going to get crushed by the water, and die on impact. So what do you do?

You run.

Naturally you escape from the dangerous situation, because who in their right mind would test their luck and try to survive a tsunami?

Are you getting it?

When human beings are faced with a situation that is uncomfortable, causes mental, or physical harm, or even death, their first response is to escape.

It is human nature to run, to escape, to not face the dangerous situation. Sometimes it can be a bad move, like ditching a daye you were nervous for, other times it could be skipping school because you constantly run into a group of serious bullies.

Repeat after me.

If you are in a situation where you do not feel loved, worthy, or free, you are allowed to escape.

You are allowed to escape.

Empathise on that baby, nobody is going to tell you off for it.

However, you must be weary of using shifting as escapism.

Shifting is a wonderful phenomenon, it is not something that determines whether you live or not. It doesn't determine your worth either, nor is it something that causes you psychological stress.

If you find yourself having suicidal or self harming thoughts, with shifting as a way to mend these thoughts, I beg of you to take a step back and evaluate these thoughts of yours.

Shifting is a journey, I preach that it's something that can be done on the first go, but that isn't the case for everybody.

It can be as short or as long as you make it, failure in shifting when using it as an escape from serious issues, is a one way road to psychological distress.

With that, I ask that you first deal with your mental health, before anything else.

Find something that makes you feel good and grounded, something you enjoy.

Please remember, that not everything is something you must be good at, if it came from you it's already perfect.

Meditation, painting, dancing, listening to music, writing, exercise. Anything and everything that makes you feel good, nothing is too silly, nobody is going to think you're weird or bad at doing something you love to do.

I found that talking out loud, writing in my journal, mediation and watching anime helped me a lot when I had "life impacting plans" connected to shifting.

LESSON SUMMARY

1. It is natural for human beings to run away when they are faced in a dangerous or uncomfortable situation

2. Shifting being used to run away from a bad situation, isn't negative. It only becomes negative once you prioritise it over your own health

3. Your mental and physical health always comes first before shifting

4. You deserve to be loved, to feel worthy, to not be let down, and to be free, whether that's through shifting or not!

oh great timing i literally JUST explained this to my asoue discord

this is a VERY simple summary, but things to keep in mind while reading:

very very VERY little of this is directly spelled out for us. the creator, scott cawthon, LOVES to confuse people on purpose and the vast majority of the lore is gleaned from hidden minigames, secret cutscenes, and easter eggs. this makes things very confusing and controversial within the fanbase, so im gonna try to explain where there are differing opinions

really, there's two main stories: the first main story was completed with FNAF6 and Ultimate Custom Night, the story going on rn is the second and it is still ongoing. as such, a lot of the lore is still a mystery to all of us.

For clarity's sake, I will divide this between: THE AFTON STORY, the one the movie's gonna tell a part of, and THE GLITCH STORY, which the games are going through

dont worry i will make it fun to go through so it doesnt feel like school

ok lets go

THE AFTON STORY

First, let's get a visual chart in here. don't worry it's just for show

These are the important families we will be talking about; the Emily family, with father Henry and daughter Charlie, and the Afton Family, with father William, two sons (Michael and a boy who is still unnamed, he might get named on friday? We call him Crying Child "CC") and a daughter, Elizabeth. Don't worry about the mothers they're not important

Okay so here's the thing: of these four children, all but Michael die VERY early on in the timeline

The problem is we do NOT know THE ORDER each of them died. There's a lot of arguments on all sides but I personally think the order is sad boi->charlie->baby so imma present it in that order. But keep in mind that we don't actually know because of the confusing way the lore is dropped.

okay so for starters.

Backstory/FNAF4

purple guy is william afton and he and this guy vcalled henry start opening a restaurant chain starring freddy fazbear

in the original location they've got two animatronic suits, fredbear and spring bonnie. the other location has freddy, bonnie, foxy, chica

the og location suits are ~special~ tho, bc henry and william are crazy inventor dudes. these suits are called "springlock suits". they function as full animatronics but you can wind all the wires and gears and endoskeleton and shit back and step into the costume yourself. only problem is the safety is jackshit and if you like. cry or sweat or breathe wrong the springlocks will fail and the metal will come crashing back and crush u to death. u should have enough time to get to the back room so u dont bleed out in front of the customers tho. springlock suits are important remember those

michael is in his early teens and has just learned how to be a shit to his siblings and is trying out this hot new bullying thing. he's picking a lot on CC because CC is terrified of the freddy animatronics. it is said that he "saw something" that scared him, it could be anything as benign as "saw someone go into the suit and got freaked out" to something as serious as "saw one of those aforementioned springlock failures and person bleeding out." could also be charlie or elizabeth's death if those happen earlier in the timeline. again we dont know bc cawthon likes to confuse us

CC is not scared of the freddy characters tho, he has all the plushies and calls them his friends. he's just scared of the animtronics. unfortunately his dad works there so he has to be there like 90% of the time so he's having a wonderful time. hence the moniker "crying child". bc he cries all the time

anyway at his birthday party, michael decides it would be really funny to shove CC up into the animatronic's mouth for kicks. this goes about as well as you'd expect cause the mouth closes and fuckin. crushes his head

kid goes into a coma for a while but eventually flatlines. while he's in the coma we hear michael tearfully apologizing, and his fredbear plush talks to him (presumed to be william) saying he will "put him back together"

anyway that was fun. so next up charlie emily gets FUCKING MURDERED

Backstory/FNAF1-2

for some reason charlie gets locked outside the pizzeria. william's driving by and decides to stab her bc why not

honestly most of us believe that this occured after CC just bc it gives william motivation to be pissy at his business partner and kill his kid abt it, but also a book that released a month ago implies that william might have been nightmare gassing his kids for shits and giggles so. who knows. dont worry about that btw its not relevant rn

anyway the thing is willie and henry had an animatronic designed to protect the children called the puppet. the puppet sees charlie outside and goes out to help her but it's raining so it fries up the puppet's circuits and it crashes on top of her dead body. cheery!

except this is where it gets wild bc charlie proceeds to like. possess the puppet

possession is really complicated in this universe but basically there's no real way to communicate openly with people and the possesser might not even be aware of who or where they are or anything really but. yeah the lil girl def possesses the puppet

its after this that william starts killing kids for funsies. a lot of us presume that he saw the puppet getting possessed and was like "holy shit a way to bring crying kid back" but again he might've just decided this was fun

anyway he lures five kids into the Secret Freddy's Backroom That Is Not On The Maps by wearing the spring bonnie costume. after killing them he shoves them into the other animatronic suits (freddy, bonnie, chica, foxy, fredbear "golden freddy") and yeah they start gettin possessed

the fifth missing kid was stuffed in fredbear and here's where it gets veeery theoretical cause we dont have straight confirmation of this but just some theories. it's VERY likely that crying child was also haunting fredbear at this point, and shoving another kid in there got two kids haunting the same bitch and it causes fredbear (golden freddy) to be really fucking weird and glitchy and eldritch or w/e. anyway you dont have to worry about that rn cause golden freddy doesnt show up much they're too busy ascending or smth

now this is where the lore gets confusing-- the first game claims that after the last two were lured, someone was caught on camera, arrested and charged. however we know for a fact willie-boi wasnt caught so either 1) this got retconned when cawthon decided to actually make lore, 2) he wasnt convicted and somehow still kept a hold on the fazbear empire during this, or 3) a lot of us theorize that henry was framed for the crimes and thats why he disappears from the timeline until the sixth game. cause yeah he disappears from the timeline until the sixth game. personally i believe the third it makes a lot of sense but yeah willie-boi stops killing at about five kids

anyway will is going full scientist with all these animatronics and he's like. ripping parts off them and putting them on other animatronics to see what happens. we THINK. again this is really vague but this is just kinda the most logical explanation here.

anyway this is what happens in fnaf2 and what it does is like. split the souls and shit. and he's like "oh this is sick" except this makes all the suits act erratic as hell and very angry towards adults (theyre cool with kids tho) and eventually one of them causes the infamous Bite of 87. we're not entirely sure what it was but one of the animatronics bit off the frontal lobe of someone in 1987. this caused this location to get shut down and willie boi just puts the pieces back on the og animatronics and is like "well shit what do we do now boys"

FNAF5: Sister Location

anyway so this is where we think elizabeth dies in the timeline. william makes these things called the "funtime animatronics"-- we know they are made after a fnaf location shuts down, though it's not specified which. these animatronics are built SPECIFICALLY to kidnap children. ballora is built as a distraction for parents, the other two are built to only move when not seen, and then Circus Baby™ has an arm that can grab kids and drag thtem into her until willie lets em out. she is programmed to only do this when a child is alone in the room so william tells elizabeth "do not go see baby when you are alone in the room"

so elizabeth is like 6 and she goes to see baby when she is alone in the room and baby grabs her but the arm is fucked up and the kid dies p badly

funtime's location is then immediately closed due to "gas leaks" and william rents out the funtimes for parties. at the same time he starts shoving some haunted parts into the funtime animatronics to see what happens. we THINK.

important location here btw is the "scooping room." it's actually very good horror but basically it's a bitch that is supposed to rip the endoskeletons out of the suit whenever theyre malfunctioning. super smart idea that will cause no nightmares going forwards.

anyway the animatronics all kinda know that william killed them so after a while (a few years??? who knows) they start trying to kill him and he's like "hmm. i cannot go into this bunker anymore. let me send michael, my last surviving kid who i hate." this is where michael, now an adult, re-enters the timeline.

mikey boy is told by his dad that he can bring his baby sis back to life if he goes down into this bunker and does some shit. michael is like "oh sweet" bc honestly he probably still feels guilty about literally killing his bro and so he goes down to the bunker.

the animatronics eventually tell him "go into the scooping room it'll be totes mcgotes" and when he gets there he finds out that the animatronics have killed all the other employees, scooped themselves, and fused their endoskeletons into one conglomerate called ennard

ennard is like "yeah we cant escape here cause they just bring us back so we're gonna use you as a skinsuit k thnx" and they scoop him and use him as a skinsuit

it's really good horror i promise

BUT this turned out to be a bad plan because Humans Decay so after like a week ennard gets puked up by the MikeSuit and escapes into the sewers.

here, meanwhile, is where mike pulls a reverse uno card and possesses his own decaying corpse

LIKE A FUCKING BADASS

he then calls up his dad and is like "hey dad :) elizabeth's fine now :) BUT :) they fucking killed me :) because they thought i was you :) you sure sent me down here to die huh :) anyway :) im gonna come find you :) you have a ten minute head start start running :)"

actor really fucking sold that monologue too ngl

so he's like. PISSSSSSED and rightfully so he is walking around in his own corpse. so he goes to find his dad

Backstory/FNAF3

this is about when peepaw willie goes back to the original fnaf location (we THINK) and is like "ok im just gonna take apart all the animatronics and do something with these"

only when he destroys the suits the missing kids' ghosts show up and spook him. so this guy who's been studying ghosts is like "oh fuckshit there's ghosts here" and tries to hide in the spring bonnie suit. only he laughs and this causes the springlocks to malfunction and FUCKING VIOLENTLY KILL HIM. get springlocked idiot

except then HE possesses the spring bonnie suit and this is springtrap. but also he's in a super secret back room while this happens so he is trapped there for a while

FNAF6

so ennard, michael and william are fuckin around for a couple years. at some point ennard decides that elizabeth is kinda a freak actually and kicks her out of the hivemind so she just rebuilds herself a circus baby suit and keeps wanderin around so now we got four bitches doing who knows what

eventually it's been 30 years since the last freddy's closed and someone opens up a haunted house parody of it. mike goes to work there as a security guard* and guess what they found springtrap and bring him to the attraction thinking he's just an animatronic. after five nights of fucking with him mike sets the place on fire to try and finally kill his dad fr. it does not work

*note that this isnt confirmed to be michael but we kinda. all know it's probably him. it really seems to be him

anyway then michael finds out that an actual fazbear's is opening and needs an owner so he goes and becomes owner of the restaraunt. while some guy on a cassette tape is giving him tutorial instructions he sets up the place and also collects several animatronics. these are:

scraptrap (peepaw post-fire and really pissed)

scrapbaby (elizabeth now thinking that maybe if she kills things her dad will pay attention to her)

molten freddy (remains of ennard still not entirely sure what's going on)

lefty (a bear solely built to capture the puppet, who was still fuckin around the fnaf2 location i guess. anyway now the puppet is here thats important)

so after our five nights scrapbaby comes on the speaker system and is like "omg dad if we kill people will you love me. we're gonna kill soooo many people it's my passion actually" and that's when the cassette tutorial guy interrupts her

and he just goes "yeah. you're not doing that"

anyway he's like "hi guys. you remember me??? henry??? from 30 years ago?? i owned half this business? you killed my daughter and stuffed her soul in a puppet? lmao yeah i literally lured you all here and you came like the fucking idiots you are. im setting the place on fire, we're all gonna die and go to heaven. except for YOU, WILL. you are not going there. lmao bye" and he sets the place on fire and they all burn. it's more epic when he says it tbh

now henry mentions that he had an escape route ready for the building owner but he figured out the owner was michael and was like "i feel like you wanna stay and burn with us" and michael's like "fuck yeah"

you might think that wraps up the story nicely but OH NO THERE'S MORE

Ultimate Custom Night

see, the next game is ultimate custom night where you can choose which animatronics hunt you and their level of difficulty. it is through hidden messages and shit that we find out that ucn is, canonically, william being tortured in hell. which is sick af

anyway the tormentor is a spirit labelled "the vengeful spirit" in the files, and "the one you should not have killed" by the animatronics. we sometimes hear either a light voice behind the other animatronic lines (could be either a woman with a light voice, a little girl, or a little boy), and the pic that sometimes shows up as a hallucination is a distorted photo of scott cawthon's son. we know for a FACT this spirit is someone from the fnaf6 fire cause they reference the fire more than once while poking willie with a stick. it's probably not elizabeth cause she was just tryin to get her dad's attention. it's not charlie/puppet bc one of her lines is like "ffs just stay out of my way for ONCE." we also know for a fact it's not henry cause they were like "henry sure tried to release us huh. not happening im not letting you go that easily bitch haha" so that narrows it down to michael and the missing kids

now here's the thing.

the vaaaaast majority of the fandom is convinced that the vengeful spirit is cassidy, the missing child that was stuffed inside golden freddy with cc. this is because golden freddy is in a looot of ultimate custom night and if you beat the hardest mode you just get a quick cutscene of him glitching and then everything fades to black

however. i have seen legiterally no convincing evidence that this is the case. all we know about cassidy is she is the golden freddy missing kid and was talking to cc through the logbook. and we BARELY know this. in the alternate universe book she first showed up in (the silver eyes) she wasn't even the golden freddy kid. people point out a similar situation to her and cc in fazbear frights where one of the kids was tormenting william (stitchwraith) but that's literally a whole separate universe and completely separate characters with separate backstories and personalities

there's a sprite in security breach who fights glitchtrap (explained below) who was named in the files as "cassidy" so ppl point to that but 1) they changed that name after people made a deal out of it, 2) that could mean literally anything, 3) the protag of the next game was named "cassie" and her story kinda paralleled the sprite's first game so uuhhhh anyway

honestly i think it's WAY more likely the vengeful spirit is mr michael "i'm going to come find you and set you on fire twice" afton, using his childhood likeness to fuck with his dad. this is strengthened by one of the easter egg cutscenes in ucn, where the vengeful spirit talks to a benevolent spirit who tells them to "leave the demon to his demons. there is nothing for you here." the audio in the background is someone distortedly screaming "HENRY" and "MICHAEL"

one of the animatronic lines also says "is this a prison for you or for me? perhaps both" implying that the vengeful spirit feels like they belong in hell, which would fit with mike's "i killed my brother" self-loathing. the golden freddy glitch could very easily be his mental anguish as well as william's, with the optional cutscene telling us that while michael is self-harming by torturing his dad in hell, he has the ability to move on and find peace if he can forgive himself. honestly i really like that open ending there

another point towards "vengeful mike" theory is that we play as him for most of the games (definitely 5 and 6, most likely 1 and 3, some theorize 4) and so him being the vengeful spirit is way more emotionally impactful than "random kid #5"

however every time i bring this up to the fnaf fandom they get really really pissy at me because y'all love ur angry lil girl cassidy headcanons and honestly that is completely fair i also love angry lil girls. im just saying this bc we're going over whats canon rn and i firmly believe in vengeful mike (thank @birdsareblooming for that) but yknow. cassidy is also fun as hell

THE GLITCH STORY

the games coming out recently are kinda a sequel-story and bc theyre still coming out we are still very confused about what the fuck is canon and what is not so this one will be a lot more guessing. i digress let's talk about

Help Wanted

so back on earth, it's the 2020s-2030s. turns out the fazbear company is still functional and they're like "well shit guys what the FUCK do we do about all of That"

so they decide they need a brand cleansing and what they do is they secretly hire an "indie game developer" to make the fnaf games in-universe, to make light of the tragedies and make people take them less seriously. they pretend to have beef with this indie dev but eventually put all of his games into a VR game as a show of "good faith." somehow this actually does work in revitalizing the brand image

also sidenote but the books imply that the indie dev was kidnapped and gaslit into making the games but thats not important

now see there's a glitch in the game and the beta-tester jeremy mentions it and then gets increasingly withdrawn and obsessive. because it turns out there is a Bitch in here

now. the identity of the Bitch is uh. controversial in the fandom rn. i will say for clarity that i am in Party Two and will probably be biased towards that but here's the thing. the Bitch is either:

a digital upload of william afton's soul (somehow escaping hell)

THE MIMIC

Help Wanted Interlude: The Mimic

see, the other books (silver eyes, fazbear frights) are set in a parallel universe-ish to the books, similar rules and worldbuilding but cawthon can fuck around all he wants with no consequences. there were charliebots and springtrap mpreg at one point it was nuts. but the thing is right now they're kinda trying to tell us that the current series, tales from the pizzaplex, is game-canon. god only knows if they'll stick to that so some people think the books are in the game's universe, others think they're parallels to the games and not 1-1 exact much like the others

but anyway they give us crucial lore on The Mimic so here we go

some guy named edwin (some think he's a parallel to henry or william, but rn we're just gonna assume he's canon) is a single dad to a toddler. however he's working for fazbear making all these animatronics and he's sooo busy and needs something to distract the toddler so he creates a fucked up nightmare animatronic called The Mimic, whose programming is extremely basic: "copy whatever you see being done"

the toddler actually loves the fucked up nightmare animatronic and teaches him to play patty-cake and carry around stuffed animals or w/e. anyway then the toddler runs out into the street and gets hit by a car

edwin is still grieving and the mimic comes up carrying the toddler's stuffed animal and still copying him and when the mimic that edwin programmed to copy things is still copying things edwin snaps and just beats the fuck out of it bc he needs a grief outlet. he then abandons the thing but however the mimic has just learned Violence

some employees come by to see where edwin's animatronics are and the mimic just starts killing all of them bc. well. it's supposed to copy things. it will copy things

there's a BIG GAP here in what happens to it next but it disappears for the next 30 years. however it is heavily, HEAVILY implied that it witnessed at least one of the missing children incidents

fazbear actually has a Lot of mimic endoskeletons but bc they start copying violent shit they shut them all down. however they all run on the same program, "mimic1" and fazbear keeps that tech around cause you know it could be helpful

Back to Help Wanted

now here is where the "we only THINK this is canon we dont knkow yet" comes in

back to the vr game, they are just shoving random old pieces of code in there to speefd up the process of making the game cause capitalism doesnt like long development times. this puts the mimic1 program into the program and it immediately sees All Of Afton's Crimes In 4K. it decides "oh yeah i can mimic this but i should probably get a physical body in order to do that"

so beta tester jeremy sees the mimic program, which takes the form of Spring Bonnie Suit. this is Glitchtrap

now keep in mind that some people do still believe that all this aint happenin and the spring bonnie glitch is just william. again i personally believe the mimic cause it makes more sense than "william escaped hell somehow" but w/e

anyway, glitchtrap is fuckin around. it tries to possess beta tester jeremy and in order to stop it, jeremy does the sensible thing and cuts his own face off

so glitchtrap is like "hmm. that didn't work out" and decides to go for the more subtle approach. the next beta tester, currently unnamed, starts recording tapes inside the game to send to the next beta tester so they dont fuck with glitchtrap. glitchtrap however seals itself inside the tapes so that when the beta testers try to delete it, it'll instead be inside the tapes and cant be removed lmao. it then "mimics" tape girl's voice and adds a last tape saying "let him possess you its ok i promise"

it also mimics her intro of "hello can you hear me" in the one time it speaks so. mimic

anyway the next beta tester is this gal named vanessa and she gets possessed like suuuper quickly and glitchtrap is like "oh fucking FINALLY"

Security Breach Therapy Tapes

vanessa's acting weird at work so company requires her to go to therapy, however she has the same therapist as Another Patient. this patient will be named later however right now we're calling them Patient 46. they do not talk but have the same therapist as Vanessa and is creepy about it. anyway whenever a therapist prods too much into either Vanessa or P46's life, or discovers them fucking with fazbear tech, the therapist mysteriously goes missing and shows up later dead and mangled by machinery

they go through like five of these bitches at least, but it's clear P46 is another bitch possessed by glitchtrap but they're like more possessed than vanessa is so glitchtrap likes them better

BUT THAT'S ALL BORING, WE'VE GOT A PIZZAPLEX NOW!!!

Security Breach

fazbear opens a giant 80s-style mall with a ton of attractions like disneyland or w/e and call it the Mega Pizzaplex. There's state-of-the-art animatronics in here that are basically sentient ai. they might be possessed but we're not actually sure rn they might just be advanced robots

they start with "glamrock" freddy, bonnie and chica, along with roxy wolf instead of foxy. we're not sure why rn. anyway at some point something suspicious happens and bonnie is found mangled and he's replaced with montgomery gator, a c-list animatronic they had to run the golf course. he doesnt seem to take the spotlight well and has started breaking things but its probably fine

anyway they eventually realize they can automate the staff and stop paying human beings and they jump on that cause they love cutting costs. they've got staffbots everywhere except for ONE person- vanessa, who is hired as the security guard. we find a note saying that her interviewer found her too inexperienced for the position, but someone "very" high up in the company pushed her into the role. this is implied to be glitchtrap taking over the systems

so vanessa and P46 are shoving glitchtrap into the systems because, well, guess what? the pizzaplex is built on top of the fnaf6 location. the one where henry set them all on fire, and they're trying to do some sort of shit with the burnt remains of springtrap. if you believe in william!glitchtrap he's trying to get his body back; if you believe in mimic!glitchtrap he's trying to fuse himself to afton's corpse in order to gain a corporeal form. it also helps that there is The OG Mimic Endoskeleton in this area (its explained in the books im not going into it) but it's pretty fuckin damaged so they gotta spend some time fixing it before fusing it with peepaw's corpse

but the night they're supposed to do that, something goes wrong: a child is loose in the pizzaplex

glamrock freddy had a malfunction onstage, and when he wakes up in his room, there is a child hiding in his stomach compartment (used for oversized piñatas and cakes). this child is named gregory and he looks suspiciously like the crying child and we dont have an explanation for that but no, matpat, he's not a robot, it's probably just symbolism

anyway gregory actually has like very little memory of what's going on and barely remembers his own name but he says that vanessa the security guard is trying to fuckin kill him so he needs to get tf out of the pizzaplex. freddy's like "well you're shit out of luck cause the doors close and seal until 6am but that's fine we can make it til then" and gregory's like "fucking JOY"

long story short gregory has to run around the pizzaplex while every animatronic but freddy is trying to kill him. freddy is not trying to kill him bc his malfunction caused him to enter Safe Mode and it turns out that Safe Mode is safe from the glitchtrap virus. everyone else, however, gets glitchtrapped and is trying to kill this kid

you dont find out why until like laaaate in the game and even THEN you're confused until one of the goosebumps-knockoff short stories confirms a thing, and that thing is:

gregory is patient 46

oh shit

turns out gregory was possessed by glitchtrap for FUCK knows how long and was used as its body for like the entire time. and when he eventually wakes up un-possessed (no idea how that happened) he has no memory of whats going on at ALL and is understandably fucking terrified. doesnt remember being possessed or killing ppl or anything he just wakes up and runs. glam freddy likely malfunctioned cause glitchtrap was like "oh my god go GET that stupid kid" and glam freddy was like "but???? protecc????" and entered safe mode

so gregory eventually fuckin DEMOLISHES all the other animatronics and uses their parts to upgrade freddy. freddy is like "hey where'd you get these parts" and gregory's like "uhhhhhhhhh dont worry about it" "hey where are my friends" "DONT WORRY ABOUT IT"

while this is happening, a possessed vanessa is in a bunny suit calling herself vanny and also trying to kill him. this is just as confusing to us as it is to you

anyway there are six endings to security breach. according to the most recent game, there is a chance that two of them are canon. WE DO NOT KNOW which of the two is canon. these are the endings:

Princess Quest Ending: greg and freddy try to confront vanny and she gets freddy ripped apart by staffbots. gregory then finds an arcade game in her room and plays and beats it which sets her soul free (presumably he knew how to do this cause he's remembering bits and pieces of being possessed??? idk). anyway once the game is beat she is unpossessed and takes gregory and freddy's decapitated head out of the pizzaplex

Burntrap Ending: gregory and freddy avoid vanny and go to the fnaf6 basement where freddy starts acting all fucked up and then thtey find the Springtrap corpse, now Burntrap (fused with the mimic? glitchtrap? yknow). it tries to kill them so you have to Boss Fight everything and then set him on fire again. THEN a tangled mess of animatronic wires with a funtime freddy head (remains of ennard???) shows up and drags him off. again, just as confusing for us as it is for you. freddy and gregory escape. no idea where vanessa is

ONE of these is canon. we do not know which. this is making the fanbase super chill and normal /lying

Evidence for Princess Quest: in ruin, we see a headless glamrock freddy in the exact same area he is in pq. we also have no sign of vanny trying to help glitchtrap. you can collect gregory's fanart of his own game and pq is the only one he didn't draw. princess quest arcade game has sword sticking out of it

Evidence against Princess Quest: aforementioned headless freddy is labelled a prototype on his foot and we know for a fact that our freddy does not have that stamp. he also has a gift inside his stomach when freddy gave his stomach gift to gregory already (and it was a diff color). the pq arcade game has sword sticking out of it BUT that could symbolize the princess being skewered, and surrounding the game is art of the escaped glitchbunny

Evidence for Burntrap: labelled as "true ending" in the files, only ending to be FULLY animated instead of switching to comic form and also only one with boss fight, the tangled animatronic mess is definitely canon (we see it, gregory draws it so he saw it too which means he went in the basement where it was), while vanny isn't seen her grafitti is everywhere and appears to be recent

Evidence against Burntrap: the "true ending" label, like cassidy, could mean literally fucking anything. also if vanessa is still under his control why the fuck doesnt she help him where is she

so yeah we're having fun figuring THAT out

Ruin (the end so far thank god)

the most recent game we got, then, was the dlc for the above game, this dlc is called ruin. a few months after this, a lil girl named cassie wanders into the ruins of the pizzaplex cause her best friend gregory told her to meet him there. when she gets there she finds a walkie-talkie and he's like "girl im trapped under the pizzaplex you need to shut down the security and come get me" and she's like "sounds great"

she finds vanny's mask and puts it on and enters an AR world where a glitched bunny is trying to kill her (this one isnt glitchtrap actually) and a friendly little AR bear is telling her to keep going she's doing a great job (this one IS glitchtrap probably)

anyway it turns out her backstory is her dad worked for the pizzaplex and she had a birthday party there with her Favorite Character Roxy and literally none of her friends showed up. she was sad about it until gregory showed up and became her friend. then gregory went missing and she was sad

anyway the last security node is favorite character Roxy and roxy recognizes her and is nice to her and its very sad

cassie eventually goes down to the fnaf6 basement and is like "ok gregory i opened the door are you okay" and PSYCH, IT'S NOT GREGORY

the mimic immediately tries to kill her bc it likes violence but roxy shows up to save her. the real gregory calls her on the walkie-talkie and is like "bITCH GET OUT OF THERE" and she's like "IM TRYING" and gregory's "friend" (whose pronouns are very specifically blurred out, so it could be either freddy or vanessa) uses the building maps to help her to an elevator. however when she gets in the elevator gregory's like "yeahhhhh sorry we cant let you be followed :(" and drops the elevator, trapping her there

it's like a 99% chance this last bit was not gregory but it was the mimic, seeing as gregory is not even in the pizzaplex and the mimic lost cassie right next to the elevator fuse box that it could easily rip out. so you know

anyway we end with either roxy finding cassie or the mimic using roxy's voice finding her so this kid's fucked lmao

also other questions about if mimic is burntrap is that we see the mimic p naked in this game and not in a fun corpse skinsuit so where did bunny go??? however i will also mention that there is a secret ending that shows us that the FUCKING SCOOPER is here so. personally i think that answers that question. get scooped idiot

oh also if you noticed "hey 'cassie' sounds a lot like 'cassidy,' the golden freddy kid who was sharing a body with the crying child, who has a similar design to gregory," congrats! we've noticed that too! we have no fucking idea what it means! :D

If there was any one thing that someone needed to know about Parrot, Wifies would tell them this: he is a difficult man to keep chained down.

Now, don’t get him wrong— Wifies doesn’t enjoy having to force his partner in crime to stay put in one place— it’s clear that Parrot wants to stretch his wings and explore the server, fool around with the pawns they’ve taken such great lengths to acquire and just generally find the workings of this server and break it apart at its seams. 

It’s simply his nature as a free spirit, and Wifies understands that he must feel restrained, cooped up in this sterile lab with nothing for company but himself and the countless experiments Wifies checks on daily. 

Even besides his natural need to explore, Unstable is a much different place from Parrot’s home server of Lifesteal, and Wifies can’t imagine what going from a place like Lifesteal, where death is not only not permanent but in fact infinitely avoidable so long as you have the smarts to evade and steal from others, to Unstable, where everyone watches their backs with caution knowing that the moment they turn around they risk never moving again would be like. 

To Wifies, it’s much the same as having brought a wild animal into a supervised environment: unless they are broken and beaten down, it is difficult to ever fully rid of their innate desire for freedom.

An animal’s first instinct, when trapped in a difficult situation, is to flee.

But while he needs Parrot’s… wild nature, so to say, present to fully carry out their purpose on this server, Wifies cannot possibly risk setting Parrot free to wreak havoc on Unstable. It would simply be too large a risk, and he— they, the Director— does not take risks. Not unless they know they can win.

Which they can, as long as Parrot does not leave the cage Wifies has placed him in.

Parrot, for his part, knows this, and he complies well. Wifies is honestly impressed at the restraint Parrot shows— his partner's patience is certainly not mirrored in his doppelganger, a little bird too curious for its own good. Then again, maybe it is one of those differences that come from the man’s time spent on Lifesteal that allow him to keep his cool where the other Parrot would have leapt ahead, adrenaline rushing through his blood and rendering his critical thinking useless. 

His willingness to wait for the perfect moment to strike was what made him such a good predator on Lifesteal, and here… it made him the perfect second half for the Director's scheme.

Wifies only hopes that he doesn't see a day where that shrewd planning decides to weave its own web to trap him in.

“You know, he's not taking your clone's death very well.” A voice comes from behind him, before the familiar feeling of two large wings come to drape on Wifies’ shoulders, Parrot leaning over him to look up at the large split-screen monitor. “Did you know? Ash told me that he hallucinated the guy. Almost makes you feel bad for them, doesn't it?”

“If this is you trying to convince me to let you out to further toy with them, you should rethink it. We’re almost at the finish line— what will this do for us but cause more unnecessary problems?” 

Parrot rolls his eyes, but sits down by Wifies’ side anyway, resigned to watching Wifies pick through the live footage of server members. As a reward, Wifies’ hand comes up to prune through the man’s feathers, dragging them down between the clumps of half-plucked molt and dust from god-knows-where, considering he's been cooped up in the lab for his entire time on the server. And they're in the End right now— Wifies doesn't even want to consider what exactly Parrot could have dirtied himself with.

“Can you go a little high– uh, yeah, that’s good,” Parrot hums as he leans back into Wifies’ touch, avian traits on full display as he calms down. 

Wifies is glad for it. It’s a show of trust, something he needs from Parrot if they are to work through this together. And— this part is admittedly perhaps a bit of his own selfish desire, too– but he enjoys having the other man around. At least, he likes Parrot's company over Ashswag’s, or ItzRealMe— or even the latest lineup in their little assassin rotation, though Wifies is being honest when he admits that Cube may be the most tolerable they've yet to contact.

Speaking of.

“Have you met with Cube yet?” Parrot is usually the one to make the trip around to their contacts, on account of the fact that he can fight and prepare for traps much better than Wifies can. It is the most logical solution Wifies can think of: Parrot needs to get out, and he is intimately familiar with treachery and bloodshed— far more so than the scientist who keeps himself locked up all day surrounded with machines and only nearly organic clones. If anyone gets the wrong idea, Parrot is the one who will be able to fend them off.

He held the title of admin for four years, after all. That was as good a reason as any to prove his ability.

“Yeah. He agreed— because he had to, mostly, but I think he thought it'd be funny to fuck with Parrot 2.” Parrot hums at a scratch to his ear-wings, making the smaller appendages flap with excitement. “He's apparently decided that he'll trap their base to kill the guy.”

Wifies twists his head to look at the content avian, hand pausing momentarily in its ministrations. Parrot frowns, but he doesn’t say anything. “Do you think that'll be enough?”

“Hell no,” Parrot scoffs. “I'm not stupid. No matter which ‘me’ is being trapped, I'll find my way out eventually. Cube is good, but not good enough.”

“It's unfortunate that most of these assassins only focus on one core specialty,” Wifies agrees. “I’d like if we could find one that would be able to account for all their weaknesses at once, but that’s practically impossible to come by.” 

“You could just make one yourself,” Parrot suggests, and while Wifies gives the suggestion some consideration, he waves it away.

“I don’t have the ability to do that just yet. I mean… look at my current creation,” he scoffs as the screen shifts to a replay of his clone and Parrot’s doppelganger’s odyssey. “He’s as dumb as a brick. Doesn’t understand anything besides how to dog the footsteps of his betters. I sometimes wonder if I made a mutt instead of a human. Surely there were better options for Kenadian to introduce sentience to?” 

“You’re way too hard on him. Honestly, I think I prefer your clone over mine. Actually— no, I know I prefer your clone over mine.” Parrot’s frown grows deeper as he witnesses the way his doppelganger addresses the clone, posture growing more and more rigid and disturbed as his foot starts to tap incessantly against the floor. Wifies runs his hand through his wings again, and when that doesn’t work, he moves to start braiding Parrot’s hair with one hand. The action manages to calm him, but it probably won’t last for too long if they focus on his mirror image.

Wifies does understand, much as he wishes he doesn’t. “Well, there is no bigger critic than the artist themselves.” 

“Yeah, I guess.” Parrot sighs, wings coming up to drape over Wifies’ shoulders again as he rests his chin on Wifies’ head. “Oh, we should go and take a look at how they’re doing now. I mean. How he’s doing. Sorry. Almost forgot that there’s only one exception now— in your words, of course.” 

“You’re sounding rather vindictive for a man who prefers loyalty over action.” 

“I just hate that version of me. It’s not that I don’t understand what he’s doing, I just don’t like that he’s doing it with my face.”

Wifies shakes his head, amused. With the click of a button, Parrot appears— the other one, the one with half-pruned wings by a clone who shouldn't have lived long enough to assist him and yin-yang symbols carved into his heart, inextricably connected to his very being— staring at the white wall of Leowook’s newest base, eyes red with what could be insomnia but is more likely the product of his unfortunate attachment to one of Wifies’ failed products.

“Is there a reason you wanted to check up on him? He isn’t doing much,” Wifies points out, eyes drifting over to study Parrot’s face. There’s dust from whatever he was doing before scattered on his face as well, and he scoots over just slightly to rub the spots of dust off the man’s face, making Parrot’s wings flutter slightly. 

“I wanted to suggest something.” 

Wifies turns to look at Parrot, frowning. “If you say—”

“I won’t leave.” Parrot crosses his arms. “I know how you get about seeing this whole thing come to an end, and I’m not going to ruin it just because I want to get out. Which— yeah, okay, I do, you know I do, but I’m not going to do it right now because we need to see this to the end together.”

Wifies turns to study the man. His wings have retracted, lying flat and tense on his back. His eyes are trained on Wifies’ own, staring as if waiting for Wifies’ approval. It’s an unsettlingly intense stare, one that he doesn’t associate with Parrot often— unless he’s looking to get something out of someone.

Even now, it is difficult to trust that Parrot believes what he is saying.

In a life or death situation, the animal will choose self-preservation over aiding its companion.

Still. He needs him. Wifies needs Parrot, and whether that will spell the downfall of the Director is something that he will ignore for the time being, if only to allow himself to indulge in an illusion for a little while longer.

If he needs to clip his bird’s wings, then so be it.

“...Go on, then.” Wifies says after a beat of time passes. “What is it?” 

A smile curls on the edge of Parrot’s mouth. 

“I don’t think he knows to just what extent we’re willing to go. Why don’t we show him how far the limit really is?”

anyway i posted those cz of the purpose vs death thing. this interests me. i have always found the classical depictions of good and evil to be Strange coz theyre just so reductive of concepts that honestly dont even actually exist? imo at least. this is all opinion stuff frm here obviously and while im interested in philosophy im not super well read on it, im just some guy in its bedroom saying words in an order. so take it with a grain of salt. however i too am prone to long inner monologues about existence so adam warlock is NOT special. good and evil dont exist. to me. theyre a mishmash of nuanced topics tht are literally just 'idk man it depends' and it all depends on a LOT of factors and then theres personal reasoning and personal perceptions of the world and ofc its easy to look at people irl and be like 'this guy is just evil' and sometimes it is very hard to argue with that bt i think pinning that sort of thing on just 'theyre evil' is genuinely defeating the point. which is that literally anyone can do any of that shit, good or bad. theres nothing inherent in anyone that is good or evil. i love adam because hes such a literal depiction of that idea, hes not good and hes not evil. hes perfectly neutral, who then CHOOSES to do good because he believes that its right and that its his duty, theres no outside force or inner quality forcing him to be that way. (keep in mind for the next part that i havent properly seen the goddess yet. ill be coming back to this after ive finished those comics probably) to me, the goddess and magus are parts of him that he subconsciously chose to partition based on his own perception of good and evil. especially since in his own words 'good and evil do not exist, there is only purpose or death'.

now heres where i get to the point: the magus and the goddess have ambitions and a will to live and goals because they have purpose. their 'goodness' or 'evilness' is totally irrelevant. warlock excised all ambition from himself. i think thats the part he has issues with himself for, because hes seen what his ambition can do in the future. THATS the problem, to him. if hes happy with what he has and only works towards his duty then he'll never do anything 'evil'. so yes. warlock has no will to live, no dreams, nothing to live for, because he forcibly removed the parts of him that did so that he could be a better messiah.

for magus specifically, and god this fucks me up a little honestly bt i just rly love magus im not even gonna lie to u gang i might be a little kinnie about it. thats a whole other topic wrt gender and having pride in being socially unacceptable or a 'monster' tht is for another post if anyone does want to hear. the point is just i have thought abt this A Lot.

magus' goal is the right to exist. it WAS adam, it FELT how miserable they were and wants out. its the selfish part of adam that he needs to stop himself from self flagellating, to take care of himself a little more. i dont have a screenshot bt thats what i rly loved abt the gotg game too, that warlock straight up says he misses magus. how r u supposed to function without the selfish part of urself. this is why i dont like the straightforward idea of sins or 'evils' because u need ALL of those things. being 100% selfless is not good, being 100% selfish is not good. etc. to borrow the christian sins, u need pride in urself for self esteem, u need sloth to recuperate and calm urself, u need lust literally because humans are animals and theres this thing called having fun, wrath can be a form of kindness on behalf of others and urself. etc etc. u get my point here. there is literally nothing wrong with any of these bad traits tht are seen as negative or unwelcome in society. adam just sees them as undesirable and treats magus accordingly, and then u can start having the nature vs nurture conversation and what they did with magus in gotg v5 and thats all a little beyond the scope of this post rn.

so yeah. warlock wants to kill himself and magus has hopes and dreams and a will to live and wants the right to exist. obviously hes still a villain and we love that for it, violence is always the answer etc etc, bt i think its a fun way to think abt it all.

As far as Jack was concerned, that move was on purpose.

“What's your problem?” The hunter scoffed, standing from his spot on the large, stable rock. He was slightly surprised to then realise Piggy had made his way up the rock just to address him. He held his spear tightly for a bit of comfort and support, perhaps even to reinforce the fact that he could impose harm. An unconscious action that left Piggy daring to roll his eyes.

“Ralph is missing. None of us have seen ‘im since yesterday afternoon.”

“And what am I to do about that?” Jack retorts, though he couldn't fight the worry he felt in his chest. It was nothing like Ralph to run off, that was clear to everyone.

“Well, you are a hunter, are you not?”

“Are you really suggesting I hunt him down?”

“Damn it, Jack, you could at least put yourself to use. Besides, tracking and hunting are different. Results are different anyway..”

Jack huffed and his eyes made contact with the forest, if Ralph hadn't returned yesterday, that meant he spent the night in the forest, or— wherever else he could've gone. That left him feeling sympathy for the boy he supposedly wasn't fond of.

“I ought to.. be off then, I suppose.” He murmured, more to himself than anyone else.

“Jack.”

“What?”

“Be quick. And.. careful.”

“Bugger off.”

Jack turned away, before pausing, a guilt lingering.

“I will.” He adds, his voice softer. With that, he climbed down off the tall rock, leaving Piggy with the burden of getting down without help, but then Simon appeared to be on his way anyway.

It wasn't hard to find the boy's prints, for Ralph had flat soles, none of the other biguns had those. Jack was pleased to see that the footprints were still relatively visible, even though he had to fill in the gaps here and there. By the looks of it, Ralph went for quite the adventure. Jack tore apart a bush which was already quite mangled from someone else passing through, though they were much more careful with the bunch of nature than Jack was.

Ralph laid on a tree branch high up, stomach down and back to the tree canopy. It was warm, and for once, he'd had a good rest, uninterrupted by the whining and kicking of littluns, or the whispered bickering of Sam ‘n Eric.

He stayed deep in rest, despite it being afternoon, drool lay at the corner of his lips, which were naturally parted as he slept.

There Jack stopped, where Ralph's footsteps ceased, and he furrowed his brows in frustrated confusion. Ralph wouldn't best him, he was the greatest hunter after all.

He brought his spear closer, his gaze closely examining the area, but it was only his footsteps and Ralph's. His stomach fluttered at the sight of their footsteps alongside one another.

Finally, he tilts his head upwards, catching sight of a restful Ralph, and a grin graces his lips at the sight. He'd found the hiding chief.

The spear fell to the grassy floor, and Jack placed his foot in the hold of a branch, grabbing a higher one, lifting himself upwards.

As he climbed, he slipped for a moment, and a soft squeal escaped scared lips. With unexpected quickness, he clambered higher and in a better spot. Ralph must have been well ambitious when he climbed this unforgiving tree.

Once settled on a thick branch next to Ralph's, he stayed quiet, examining an exhausted kind-of-enemy-kind-of-not. During their days in the sun, Ralph had developed some freckles on the bridge of his nose, a feature he and Jack now shared — despite him having many more than Ralph overall.

“Ralph..” The hunter whispered reluctantly, causing the other to hum lowly in a mix of sleep and consciousness.

“Ralph?” He tries once more, a bit louder but equally soft, laying his hand on Ralph's shoulder to indicate this was reality and no dream.

“Piggy?” A quiet, slurred murmur.

That left Jack with hurt in his chest and an upset frown on his face.

“Piggy, Piggy, Piggy.” He momentarily mocked, childishly, “God, Ralph, wake up!”

Then opened tired blue eyes, meeting contemptuous green ones.

“Morning to you too.” Scoffs Jack, turning his head away. He was better than Piggy. Why would Piggy ever climb a tree for— for Ralph..

Jack looks downwards as an understanding dawns on him.

“Why’d you find me?” Ralph mutters, flattered but unsure of the intent of this gesture. Jack opens his mouth to reply, but he realises he's about to say that boy's name again and stops.

“It… crossed my mind.” Says Jack instead.

“You think of me?”

“That's not what I said.”

“You implied it.” Ralph grinned, sitting up properly, he appeared pleased with the idea that Jack kept him in mind.

“It was Piggy's idea, alright? Now leave it be.”

“Oh. Piggy’s idea. Right.” Ralph's shoulders visibly sagged beneath the dirty grey shirt. A moment of silence allowed both of them to ponder quietly with averted gazes.

“Why didn't you come back? Planning on abandoning us, ‘chief’?” The redhead lightly insults.

“It's not like that!” He quickly retorts with furrowed eyebrows.

“Then what's it like, Ralph?” Jack leaned forward with low, simmering anger.

“‘Course you wouldn't know. You're not chief. You go out all day long and come back with nothing but more sunburn!”

“That's—” Jack stopped, finding no suitable reply, “You shut it!” He points with an accusing finger.

In that moment, Ralph remembered the first day they'd spent together, with Simon, and how they'd laughed together and been friends.

Jack was taken aback by the lack of response, and he drew his finger back into the fist he'd made.

“Ralph?” He gently asks, not sure what the meaning of the other's silence was. Now, both hands on the branch he sat on.

“Jack?”

“I don't know.” The three words oddly soft and solemn.

“I suppose we ought to get back to the huts. Things to get done back there.”

“We?”

“Come, Jack.” Ralph gestures with a nod of his head, already beginning to climb down the giant tree.

Jack watched Ralph swiftly descend, before attempting to do so himself, doing his best to copy what Ralph had done. Once more, he slips, but this time he finds two arms catching him without hesitation.

“You're alright, hm?” Ralph questions, allowing Jack to stand proper before releasing him. The hunter turned around swiftly with a red face.

“Yes!” He proclaims before he stormed off, forgetting the previously abandoned spear.

Ralph eyes it, grinning in amusement before picking it up for the other boy and catching up to him.

I am loving this event way more than I thought I would (haven't fully gone through it yet)

But I was not expecting Vil to go ham on insults

And this was just from what I played through today

Glad I'm not actually there cause I'd be in the background like "OOOOHHH! DAMN VIL, YOU TELL 'IM!!!" And Leona would hate me

Also love how we get the representation of someone who hates kids, I feel like there are few to no shows that demonstrate it

Cheka is cute and I love him, but I can understand Leona

To be honest, Leona has never really been on my roster, I am more of a Malleus/Deuce/Rollo type of gal

Leona just seems like someone more fun to bugger with

But this ...

This reveal???

Jaw dropping, king of the jungle for real, hubba hubba, hot dayum--Malleus forgive me

Another moment that I am glad I wasn't there for cause I was all over the other three's "take off the overcoat" reveal and would've been fan-girling over them, whooping and gassin' 'em up,

But the difference in how my reaction to seeing them compared to Leona would've been obvious

His aura was just so different and he doesn't show off his strength, he prefers brain over brawn, but now he was so smug about it

Like, yes, that's what I live for

Not to mention that I personally love the idea of "flirt fighting" which entails actually sparring. Wanting to better defend and strengthen yourself is the main motivator, but tension is a great plus.

And that's essentially everything he's doing here???

Get me in the ring with him, I will lose but I will enjoy every second of it

And then, when all's said and done,

He takes the time to actually voice his evaluation and assessment of everyone in a straightforward and nice way

I feel like I got to see a side of Leona I hadn't before and I'm really liking it

I remember reading a post about how Leona doesn't really resemble Scar who he's twisted from during the Book of Savanaclaw, where there was some good points made (namely, he kinda sat back while Ruggie did most of the dirty-work, it was on Leona's behalf but we didn't see much of him stringing Ruggie around).

But in this event we really get to see the "Scar Side" of Leona. His wit, his cunning and the issues that motivate Leona; he wants change for the better of his pride and knows how to get there quick, but others won't listen cause they have other values they'd like to keep in tact and it irritates him that they're putting the things that are (in his mind) more insignificant, first.

And I think introducing that part of Leona in this event instead of in Book of Savanaclaw works amazingly well because Leona is a prince, he is at NRC to learn yes but stays there (probably also gets held back on purpose so he'll have an excuse to stay away from home) to forget about his frustrations with his homeland. So, I think he wouldn't have much incentive to want to fix as much in his dorm or the school since his problems mainly lie back in his Kingdom.

Anyway, this is plenty fuel for happiness and story ideas and that's about all I have to share right now

(Also, the bow Grim is wearing is most similar to Leona's garb and since we are "a package deal" I'm assuming we're both wearing similar prints. So, we may be matching spectacularly with Leona. Dunno about you, but I'd gladly follow along as if I'm his trophy wife-- again, I'm sorry, Malleus don't come for me-- and also this is just more story fuel ...)

shockingly i haven’t posted anything about the kind of hilarious kind of sucky p4 remake yuri lowenthal tweet yet dhdjdj

on one hand. it’s quite funny. on the other hand, it does suck to hear him beg to come back and atlus go no. but on a secret third hand, i’m also not surprised. like i’m not shocked that they’d wanna go with an entirely new voice cast, but it’s also a tad bit confusing cause god p4 has had so many spinoff games and yosuke is such an iconic character and voice and you have the guy begging to be back. And it’s like. Saying no is an interesting choice.

Other p4 VAs have been swapped out even in spinoffs, and it’s been fine! I have no problem with it! It’s just interesting to be like absolutely no when someone who loves to role wants to be involved.

So like. I’m not surprised. It’s just like. Damn. Also leaking it extra that way is insane.

The thing i’m MORE worried about is that atlus is kind of in a lose lose situation with the naoto and kanji arcs. To be honest, i don’t think they should necessarily have to change the entirety of those plot points. I am very aware naoto is not in canon text trans, nor is kanji in canon text gay. Atlus chose to have strange spectacle based gay plot with kanji and have an accidental trans-seeming narrative with naoto (which i think comes down to poor writing on both counts).

The things i actually want them to change is just the way they portray it. Because having kanji do a “gay voice” and be so overtly stereotypically gay and predatory in a really offensive way just like. Was not funny ever. And extra isn’t funny now. I think they can still have him struggle with the exact same thing. Society sees his hobbies as “for women” AND society sees gay men as “feminine,” thus he struggles with that. That’s fine. Because it would be true that these things are wrong and he could still be straight and like. Gay men aren’t women stop conflating those things. it would be cool for him to also be bisexual or somethin. But most importantly, the way they wrote it originally was awful.

Same with naoto. They don’t have to make naoto transgender duh. I know that wasn’t their goal. I know it got messy. Despite it being a very relatable trans storyline, i know it wasn’t on purpose. But what they SHOULD change is the way it is treated. The other characters shouldn’t be extreme assholes about naoto’s feelings during and after the reveal. There should be no disgusting mini plot moment of discussing naoto’s chest size?? And telling everyone?? When naoto is obviously uncomfortable with it. That’s gross to do to anyone.

And honestly i really do think adding a goddamn yosuke romance would just make sense. Not a single gay romance option to date. this would be the time. This would make his struggle even more interesting. The option being there but not forced just like with the girls should just happen. I DOUBT it but like. They should.

ANYWAY. i’m extremely hesitant about this remake. P3 didn’t have so much mess ingrained into the plot of the game. P3R removed the one transphobic “joke.” But the shitty moments with kanji and naoto are there. A lot. And they really need to just write it better. But again. I’m not looking forward to it as a whole. I love p4 so so much, but i cannot handle more kanji naoto discourse. Especially from people who just…hate queer people for finding comfort in those characters. Like as someone who knows naoto isn’t canonically trans. I still as a trans person enjoy naoto through a trans lens. But im not saying that’s canon or what atlus is saying. Like these two things can exist. It doesn’t matter. But i really don’t want a resurgence of even worse queerphobic shit from rancid p4 fans. But i also dont want p4 to be forced to change its story either. It’s tricky. <NOTE> Im a psychology nerd so I tried to make it as realistic as possible. This is my first time doing anything like this but I have a lot of thoughts about Tobys character. Its not proofread so ignore any typos or grammatical errors. Also… its very long… I have… so many thoughts…

BIOGRAPHY .

PATIENT NAME: Tobias (Toby) Erin Rogers

BIRTHDATE: April 28th, 1994

AGE: Currently 19 years old

HC/EC: Brown hair, brown eyes

ETHNICITY: White American

BIRTHPLACE: Denver, Colorado

FAMILY: Connie Rogers (mother), Dan Rogers (Father), Lyra Rogers (sister)

DIAGNOSIS: Congenital insensitivity to pain with anhidrosis (CIPA), Tourettes Syndrome, Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Bipolar Disorder (Type 1, psychotic)

THE GURNEY .

Toby was in and out of hospitals from a very young age due to his wide range of physical and mental health concerns

His earliest memory was when, at age 4, he hit his head after falling onto cement and didn’t cry, scream, or even really acknowledge that he was hurt

After seeing the bloody mess her young child was in, Connie ran Toby to the hospital where tests were ran to determine what caused his lack of pain response

Finally at age 8, Toby was diagnosed with CIPA. This condition not only prevented his brain from generating a pain response but also responses to extreme temperatures (frostbite, heat burn, etc)

Due to these dangerous health issues, and his neurotic mother, Toby was put in homeschooling from a very early age. Connie was too protective of her son to allow him to go out on his own at his age

His earliest memories revolved around roaming hospital halls, his parents fighting over medical bills, being talked to by social workers and doctors, having tests done, minor surgeries, etc.

DEAR OLD DAD .

Dan Rogers was a difficult man. He never admitted he was wrong, he spent his evenings drinking on the couch, and always had something to complain about. The best words to describe this man was angry, bitter, and reckless

He wasn’t a father by any means. To Toby, the man was more of a nuisance than anything. An alcoholic manchild who stood in his way

The boy never got along with Dan. His father would see him as a burden, bringer of unnecessary medical costs. He severely emotionally and physically neglected his children from their birth. Dan never wanted to be a father.

Due to the costs of Tobys medical problems, Dan would continuously attempt to “prove he was faking” his CIPA, and yell at the boy for his strange twitches due to Tourettes. On one occasion, Dan put his sons hand in a pot of boiling water to try and elicit a pain response that never came.

As Toby got older and more independent from his mother, he would often mouth off to his father, talk back, or straight up ignore him. There was never a moment of peace between those two

Being the money maker in the house, Dan was usually very overworked and stressed. He turned to alcohol to relieve this, and his bad temper got worse when he drank. Often to the point his outbursts would lead to physical violence against his family

It was like walking in a minefield for Toby and his family. And since the supposed “man of the house” was a drunken mean old man, Toby took it upon himself to protect his family from his fathers wrath.

He would purposely act up to direct Dans fist towards him. The boy couldn’t feel it anyways, and being hit, pushed, grabbed, was better than having his sister or mother be hit or yelled at.

The young boy spent his childhood in a rage, he was powerless against his father.

MOTHER DEAREST .

Unlike her husband, Connie was a quiet woman who cared deeply for her children

She was well-mannered, motherly, and kept to herself. And while she was a good woman, she had her fair share of flaws

You would catch her dead before you ever caught her losing control over her emotions. Connie grew up quick and that stuck with her. From a young age she took care of her manchild of a husband

She couldn’t afford to lose herself to silly things like emotions. She had a family to care for, a house to clean, meals to cook. Her priorities lied on appearance over her health

This was one of the many reasons she couldn’t leave her husband despite the years of abuse

Despite all the violence, berating, assault. This life was her own and it was just another thing she had to live with

Toby loved his mother, he really did. He knew she did the best given the circumstances. Connie kept her children fed, clothed and housed. Thats all he could really ask for

But he despised from the depths of his soul how she could just sit by and let the abuse happen. How she never left Dan. How she never cared enough to leave despite not knowing what lied in store for them beyond that house

To her, Dan was a safety net. He provided money, insurance, he paid the bills, put food on the table. Connie quit her job in order to homeschool her son. There was no choice

To Toby, his mother was a coward who never stuck up for herself. And god forbid he ever turn into that

So Toby fought the battles his mother couldn’t. He said the words his mother didn’t dare to speak. He took the beatings and his mother did nothing but ask her husband to stop

SOUL SISTER .

In the chaos of that household, Lyra was something of fresh air for Toby

While the two did fight as any siblings do, they had a mutual care and understanding for each other

Lyra would keep a makeshift first aid kit under her bed for whenever Toby got into minor accidents or if their father went too far some nights

Like her little brother, Lyra had a lot of anger in her. She would always try to stop Dan from going too far and she was good at talking Toby and their father down from ripping each others throats out

She would channel this anger and frustration into sports like boxing, soccer, rugby. It was easier to express her feelings through physical means than ever talking about it. The girl was a perfect mix of her parents

When he was younger, Toby had a very bad and hostile relationship with Lyra. He was young and didn’t have any clue how to handle his emotions and would often threaten or physically hurt his sister

But as he grew up, and they bonded over the related abuse, and they would be there for each other, Toby developed tender care for his older sister. If she got a boyfriend, he would be ready to attack at any sign of disrespect. If she brought over friends, he would stay in his room not to embarrass her.

Just as he was with his mother, he was very protective over Lyra. She did so much for him, and he wanted to keep her safe. It was a tangled, messy relationship but they made it work despite her attitude and his anger

CONDUCT .

Toby grew up completely isolated from other kids, families, etc. The most socialization he got was going to family events or being dragged to the grocery store with his mother.

All he knew growing up was violence. And so when he was around other people, he would project everything he learnt from his father onto other kids

From a very early age he was made to feel small and insignificant in his own home by the people that were supposed to take care of him. And so whenever something challenged him out of the house, he would do whatever he needed to do to put them below him

Sometimes Toby would project this violence onto small animals, occasionally moving onto bigger animals such as cats. The feeling of killing something smaller than himself with his own hands gave him a sense of power and control he never had

Due to his untreated ADHD, the boy would often be loud, hyperactive and intrusive. He would have temper tantrums and outbursts as well, and his mother never knew how to handle it

He was a problem child from birth. Not only causing problems for himself, but for everyone around him

Toby would talk back, curse, say strange and vulgar things, refuse to apologize or admit he was wrong, and would run away from home occasionally.

But despite these behavioural issues, Toby always refused to touch alcohol. Despite all the anger, dread and frustration he felt he swore he’d never become the kind of man his father was

BULLY .

Around 12 years old, Toby’s parents decided it would be best for him to get properly socialized and placed him in a public school

He was now old enough to recognize that bleeding is bad and how to check for injuries despite his CIPA, which allowed Connie to calm down tremendously when it came to her anxiety surrounding her boys health and safety

Despite his mothers insistence that he would love public school, he’d make so many friends there, and that everything would be fine, Toby knew damn well he wouldn’t do well there. He was already bullied by his own father, imagine how other kids would react. He’s seen the movies.

And of course Toby was right. Due to his Tourettes, his tics would often confuse, scare and gross other kids out. They would either straight up treat him like a diseases rat or ruthlessly bully him

The boy was called every name in the book, from “twitchy freak” to “ticci Toby”

Alongside the ostracism and harassment from his peers, his tics and behavioural issues would cause him issues with his teachers. They would often scold him for being a disturbance in class

Making and keeping friends was near impossible for the boy. Talking to a “creepy loser” like him was practically social suicide. He was weird, strange, and given his history of fighting the other kids he was probably dangerous too. No kid wanted to be around that.

On occasion, the other boys would get physical with him and he would always hit back, leading him to get in more trouble with the school staff

Toby would be beat down at school and go home to have it done to him all again by his father

Eventually the school year came to an end and Toby was put back in homeschooling

Even though the torment in middle school came to an end, that didn’t mean the bullying stopped. He was now a known freak and the perfect target for kids who were a bit too much like him. They would harass him online until they got bored, and god forbid he saw any of them in public

It made the angry, powerless boy feel even worse in his own world. There wasn’t a night that went by where he didn’t think of going off and getting his revenge. Make them pay for ever fucking with him.

THE CRASH .

When Toby turned 17, he had finally got himself medicated for his recently diagnosed Bipolar Disorder which caused manic / depressive episodes

He was put on antipsychotics and stimulant medication for his ADHD

While he was being treated, his sister got a job and so did his mother. Outside of all the familiar instability and violence his father caused, life was good

Toby was going to be 18 soon and his sister promised that when he became a legal adult, she would take him to move out with her

He didn’t have any friends, he didn’t really have any plans for his life, but he had a life ahead of him regardless and that was enough

The boy was working through pain too great to imagine, he was carrying 17 years of fear and dread, he was so young holding on to so much

But he had a way out. He was going to get a job and move out with his dear older sister and maybe even go to college. He was going to overcome this

That was his views at least up until the crash

Lyra was driving Toby back home from a doctors appointment when it happened

His tics were acting up, it was rather distracting

He was so caught up in his own little world and trying to get through the frustrating twitches that he didn’t even have a second to process what happened

The next thing Toby knew, the car was swerving right into a lamppost and the air bags were deployed

And the next thing Toby saw was his sisters mangled, bloody body. The force of the steering wheel crushing her bones and shards of glass piercing her skin. The physical trauma near shattered her ribs

And the next thing Toby heard was the pained groans and wheezing from his dying sister

Thats the last thing he remembered before he woke up in a hospital bed with his broken arm being patched up. The doctors wouldn’t even let him see his sister who was under surgery in the emergency room

He didn’t get to be there by her side when she died

He didn’t get a goodbye

And while he was surrounded by family, his aunt Lori was even there to support his mother, Tobys father was nowhere to be seen

Dan was too drunk to drive, and too lazy to call a cab. He didn’t care about Toby and he didn’t care that his daughter just died. One less burden.

In one afternoon Tobys entire life slipped through the cracks of his hands

HIM .

The grief was sickening. It was heavier than the weight of the world. The silence that flooded his once loud house from his sister blaring her Beatles albums was deafening

These were the kinds of things that only happened in movies. People didn’t really lose their family members, and these things didn’t happen to people like him

It wasn’t fair

The one good thing in his miserable life, the moment things were finally getting better. There was no hope anymore, Toby was hopeless

He thought of ending his life every night as he stared at the ceiling, not getting a wink of sleep. But he couldn’t do that to his mom. She never showed it, but it showed clearly from the weight in her steps, the tired look in her eyes. He knew she was carrying a burden too great to bear

He couldn’t take away both of her children

So he would lie there night after night hoping to wake up from the gutwrenching dream just to hear her laugh, sing, blast her shitty music. He never really liked The Beatles, but she did. But she did.

It was all too much for him. From the moment Toby stepped out of the hospital he hadn’t felt real. The boy was living two steps away from reality like there was a sheet of plastic in between him and the world

Days would go by where he would forget to take his medication, or where he would simply just sleep the entire day away

On the days he was awake, Toby would feel like he was going insane. He wouldn’t feel real, he would see things out of the corner of his eye

Sometimes he’d swear he saw something outside his window at night

A strange creature standing under the streetlights

And it only got worse from here. Toby would almost always refuse to leave the house, he stopped sleeping, he felt like something was watching him

The boy would spend hours staring outside his bedroom window. The forest in his backyard had eyes and they were watching him

A wave of sickness overtook Toby. He would wake up with bloody noses sometime and no medicine would get rid of his strange cough. Sometimes he would sleepwalk and end up waking up on the edge of the forest behind his house, cold and alone in the dark of the night

It all added up. It was too much. The anger, the fear, the paranoia. The little voice in the back of his head telling him to just do it. Get revenge. Make him pay.

ABLAZE .

The years and years of abuse. Everything his father had done. He wasn’t there. He was never there.

Why should a man like that deserve to live? 17 fucking years of making Toby feel small and insignificant

Not today. And not anymore. The world was in the boys hands now, and so was a knife. And that night was the night Toby Rogers killed his own father.

No words could describe the feeling of adrenaline and rage that overtook the boy that night. There was no other option, this was the way it was always going to happen

Everything Toby has ever been through has led up to this. It was his own divine prophecy

And God showed no mercy that night

23 stab wounds drilled into his fathers chest, his face bloody, beaten and unrecognizable. Toby smashed his tiny bruised fists ruthlessly into his fathers now deceased body.

The only thing that stopped him was the scream of his mother. It was something primal, something deep from the pain in her gut.

Toby ran into the garage and grabbed two axes that belonged to his father, one old one new. Alongside that he grabbed gasoline and matches. He was going to do what he knew best. He was going to destroy everything.

And so the boy ran down the street of his neighborhood pouring the gasoline along his way and dousing the rest over the trees as he stood at the edge of the forest

Striking a match, the dry grass and trees caught on fire and immediately exploded into flames. The heat and blaze engulfed the boy and soon it began catching onto the rest of the forest

This was the end, he thought. Strangely enough, even though his heart was beating in his throat and his body was shaking, he felt calm. He had no regrets and he was fine with this being his ending.

How do you think it played out the first time Cameron and Chase each shared something/acted truly vulnerable? Like their first dramatic hurt/comfort kind of moment.

What was it about? How did they react? What set them off? What were the circumstances?

Im trying to understand this aspect of them for research purposes and all cause it’s not really shown much in the series

So, I kind of disagree with this premise, because: we actually see them be vulnerable with one another surprisingly often, albeit mostly on Cameron's side.

In S1 and S2, she actually goes to Chase a couple of times as a sort of … romantic soundboard (very funny of her in retrospect); he knows about her crush on House, and she's the only one she discusses Dr. Charles with in TB or Not TB.

We also see in Hunting that, while Cameron rebuffs him, Chase actually is fairly proactive in checking up on her and trying to look out for her: he checks up on her after her HIV scare twice, asks her to drinks after work, and offers to work overtime so she can go home early. We also see Cameron try to get Chase to open up (unsuccessfully!) in Cursed and arguably also Human Error (she showed up to that diner with some kind of agenda and had no idea what to do with Chase's insistence he was fine).

(One of the ways Cameron and Chase are actually similar is that they're way better at offering support than accepting it. Chase is pretty proactive with his care and attempts to help; Cameron is even more so.)

Chase, generally, is much worse at being vulnerable, like, with anyone, but we do see him reach out to Cameron a couple of times: in The Itch, he admits he feels shut out and goes through a whole journey in the background: Cameron seems uninterested in going to his apartment for reasons he isn't aware of (and they're basically living together at this point), so he starts showing up at the patient's house — where she's crashing — and offering to stay at hers — which he hates — in an effort to please her, before finally admiting to a major insecurity and stepping back to give her space to work it out. That's vulnerability! Admittedly it's not dramatic or weepy, but that's still hurt/comfort (they're in their thirties, lol).

S5 is also rife with Cameron struggling to get past her own issues/fears and be vulnerable with Chase. In turn, he always is pretty aware of her issues and willing to give her space, Saviors aside — and Saviors is a good example, because Cameron here fucks up and breaks them up. We see them both super vulnerable and emotional. Chase speedruns the stages of grief as he thinks he's being broken up with and finally takes action to end the relationship, but he also asks (begs) Cameron to tell him what's going on and only breaks up with her after drawing that boundary. Cameron, meanwhile, has to face the reality of the fact that trying to avoid the situation made it 200% worse, and has to essentially beg Chase to take her back, crying and explaining that she was scared. I have my issues with the episode, but if you want vulnerability, there it is!

The thing is, it's really not dramatic most of the time. If they're both better at offering comfort than accepting it, the good news is that if either one of them is upset, the other is going to do whatever they can to help, you know? They absolutely have their conflicts, but their fights are also such non-issues (until the end): Chase has a problem. Cameron falls all over herself to make him feel better. The end. (The Itch) Chase has a problem. Cameron falls all over herself to make him feel better. Chase falls all over himself to make her feel better. The end. (spermgate.) They're already friends long before they sleep together, they're already — Cameron, anyway — comfortable with sharing their emotions. Chase is, of course, worse… but he also is pretty clear about his boundaries with her, and doesn't let her push them.

So the first time? Judging from what we see of them, either:

a) Cameron freaks out about something (I can see her having a Moment when the relationship overtakes her marriage as her Longest Ever), starts avoiding Chase to give herself time to figure it out. He notices right away and is hurt. They both stew for a little while, before Cameron admits what's wrong or Chase figures it out on his own. They talk it out and hug.

b) Chase is upset about something. He stews and withdraws and absolutely refuses to talk about it. Cameron gets annoyed, starts to pry. They fight, they sulk and are hurt. Cameron says something like "okay, I'm here when you're ready" (as she does with Dibala), and eventually he is, or Chase realizes he's upset her and gets up the gumption to tell her what's wrong, or he never quite tells her but they hug and he appreciates the comfort/support a lot.

Reiji feels like francium bc francium is the most active metal on the periodic table. Or he could be rhodium but there's no explanation for that i just felt like it.

Shu is undoubtedly a noble gas, radon maybe. Bc it's denser than all the others, it's radioactive, colorless and odorless. It's not possible to detect without special equipment, which reminds me of shu bc he doesn't interact with anyone. He doesn't bother interacting unless people go looking for him.

Kanato is polonium bc it's one of the deadliest elements on the planet, as well as having a short half life span— its half life span reminds me of kanato's instability. While i do think polonium-210 has a relatively average lifespan (around 130 days), it's way shorter when compared to the other isotopes of polonium that can live up to more than a hundred years.

Laito is phosphorus. He kinda stands out to me among the others bc of his eerie charm, like ik he's bad news but i wanna run to him anyway djmfkfnedjnf. You see, when white phosphorus is slowly oxidized, it emits a faint green light bc of the reaction and i feel like it represents him well bc he's terrifying but also beautiful, just like oxidized white phosphorus. Bc the smoke produced by the reaction can cause severe burns on the skin, cardiovascular problems and kidney/liver failures. It could turn someone's life upside down, so can he lol.

Ayato is copper bc copper is durable and non oxidizing so it can last for excessive amounts of time (im looking at you cordelia, your attempts to ruin this child are futile). It is also easy to not that hard to shape copper which makes me think of how easily ayato is tempted to do and not do things— all it takes is a little bit of persuasion and encouragement. Besides all this, the natural pinkish orange color reminds me of his hair lmao.

Subaru is plutonium. Here's why: this element might inflict fear upon most people, but it's actually not as dangerous as it's made to be! Yes, it is toxic and used in nuclear weapons, but its radioactivity depends heavily on the amount of it. This reminds me that despite how violent and harmful subaru looks, he isn't really all that bad. The amount of harm that comes from him depends on how furious he is— if he's not beyond angry, i don't believe he would harm things or people around him on purpose.

I’m just gonna say he snapped. Like when I type snapped I want to put in italicized mode but I can’t. Rip. Anyways back to the question above, I think in season three with spitefire and aftermatches body’s being used as people to talk with is just a tiny spect of how much of his sanity he’s trying to hold on. That’s from being imprisoned so imagine how much sanity will be left if he learns that his trinemates just abandon him. This will absolutely mess him up for good. It also could have him flashback to Skyfire and Megatron leaving. I know we haven’t see Skyfire in the show but with how much it is similar to g1 I betting the same thing happened with Skyfire in g1 happened with ES as well. It’s also important to remember how important he was to him so that betrayal hurt him. I don’t mean physical but emotional and mentally. Like imagine spending millions of years searching for someone you trusted then when you find them they stab you in the spark. That’s obviously left major ptsd and other problem for Starscream. Then we have bucket head. Yes he had abused him but if you take the abuse of the picture and look at the scenes they actually get along together, they could have had a decent relationship. They were showed to get along in those scenes so yes they had problem with each other (Megatron abusing Starscream and Starscream trying to kill Megatron) but they could get along together some times. So what I’m trying to say is yes they hurt each other but they don’t always hurt each other. Which bring me to why it would hurt Starscream when Megatron betrayed the Decepticons. Megatron basically left the cause he had build from his hands along with Starscream. They had trust, even though it was very little, it was still trust. In the g1 cartoon Megatron trusted Starscream to weld him in his gun mode. A mode which he could have easily killed Megatron in but never did. I am continuing here because I ran out of room so here u guys go. So if Megatron had let him use him as a gun, his, most weakest form, multiple time then I am assuming it because they have trust. So when Megatron betrayed the Decepticons and became an autobot it traumatized Starscream. He trusted not one but two people and they both left him. This is gonna give him the mentality that he can’t trust nobody which could be why in the dweller episode, he left his trinemates behind. His mind was screaming that he couldn’t trust them and that they would hurt him like Megatron and skyfire. Then when hashtag believed him, he saw a person he could trust not to betray him(hasbro just had to make season 2 Starscream destroy his relationship with hashtag 😭) throughout that episode we saw him put himself in danger to protect her because she trusted and believed in him when nobody else did. Ok im going so of topic. What was I typing about again? Right so that’s what I think for the question, I don’t know how to reblogg which ish why I’m putting the link to the post. There is one detail were I think I need a second opinion on:

So during the manga ending, there is that detail of supposedly Lord Death, with his "madness of order" being able to control everyone on earth - basically being able to solve all crime/evil things from happening.

The fact that he doesnt use this power is presented as a positive thing, basically an indirect way of answering the problem of evil with "actually God gives us free will and thats why evil happens, because denying us the free will would be more evil than anything else"

So ok, what is the sticking point to me? Well Lord Death was kinda hinted as being deeply flawed, and even his death at the end is framed as tragic but as the time necessary and a positive thing, a new generiation taking over creating a better wolrd, ect.

But isn't including such a huge revelation - a revelation that only makes sense with an All Good, kinda absolute God?

Basically, maybe I'm just looking for nitpicks, but to me these two things clash - like the story and Ohkubo couldnt decide between if Lord Death was holding the world back and needed to pass the torch or if he actually was the wacky all knowing force for good all along -

Like if instead it was revealed that Lord Death was pressured to make Kid be an automaton to avoid an Asura situation, but he refused because he didnt sucumb to the despair of failure and had hope in humanity and freedom, it could work as "wow Lord Death had past sins and couldnt steer the world into the future, but here is an action that proved that the flame of his vision was still good and know Kid will be his resurection, like that old NAS song"

Idk, maybe this is all just nonsense to normal people but to me its the best example of Soul Eaters (more the mangas) unwillingness to commit to the "Death is not all good thing" - like the whole WMD's parrelel and shit seems even more out of place and ironically as a way to say "well Bush made mistakes, but American imperialism is a good thing overall!"

Anyway I think the anime in the end was better with its more simplistic worldview - cause atleat it didnt break itself - the shadyness of Death was worked into Kids isuess of trust and accepting that he isnt perfect and can place his trust in his partners and is more simmilar to his father in this way etc.

So yeah, if you are still reading and didnt delete it out of boredom, Im interested in a response, cause I'll admit I'm not sure about it 100 percent myself so if you go and say "Nah, thats wrong cause-" I'll probably open to listening

Eh, i'd say that you're looking at this from a wrong perspective.

Shinigami was a good, if very flawed individual, but the thing is that the reason why he could not lead the new age was not because be was flawed... It was because in chasing perfection, he made an error so great that he could never recover from it.

That error being the way he created his first son, not to create a successor, but instead as a byproduct of ripping his fear out of his own self in order to become a "better" God of order, a desciaion that had enormous consequences in that it laid the groundwork for the first Kishin, but also because it left him utterly incapable of feeling fear, and thus incapable of feeling bravery either, and drastically affecting his descision making.

As such, he was incapable of decisively defeating his son, and had to resort to sealing him away, something that also required him to stay in one place forever afterwards.

The school that he founded afterwards to replace his team of immensely powerfull warriors that Asura and Excalibur was a part of, came as a consequence of his own failures shattering that group, and with him no longer being able to move around, he couldn't even uphold his actual purpose in the world.

And thats withouth taking into account how much getting ridd of his own fear screwed him up as a person. Through the series, shinigami is utterly incapable of showing real, true fear, no matter how dire things get. All of his angry moments happens in the moment, as things are happening around him.

He was incapable of truly feeling any sense of urgency when Asura was about to escape, and only after he is free is he able to confront the very real consequences on an emotional level.

Similarily at the end of the series he isnt actually afraid of the witches betraying them despite thinking this is the likely outcome, but when he thinks they do, he flies off the handle to reveal just how much hate he truly has for them.

Hia philosophy debate with his son near the end of the anime is all about exploring how these two family members are unable to feel fear and by extention understand bravery.

Ultimately what Shinigami came to realise and finally accept, is that as a consequence of chasing utter perfection, he ironically made himself too fundamentally broken to lead the way, both as a person, and as a king/god who should be leading his organization by example, rather than being trapped in his city.

Fundamentally Shinigami was a good person... But by his own actions, while chasing perfection he crossed a line that he was never able to uncross. Very much like his son, he believed that if he was the strongest, withouth "flaws", he would be able to see his vision through. Only where Asura wanted to feel completely out of any possible danger, Shinigami wanted keep the word orderly and safe for the good people of the planet.

A good goal. But as they say, the road to hell is paved with good intentions.

hi hello! i may have spent the last.. uh... 3ish hours? reading through everything on this blog. i think it may have been more i did not think to record when i first started. the wonders of hyperfixation.

anyways this was absolutely an entertaining read. like genuinely. i had so much fun. i loved the integration of codes and cyphers. the brief period of time where kinito was having a touching moment with the anons while sonny and o started beefing in the notes (which was fucking hilarious by the way i loved that). the developing plotlines. the anons and their character development. honestly this is why i love going through tumblr askblogs because you could not get this sort of experience on any other website- its a very unique experience that this format brings to the table. its a very malleable form of roleplay, imo- removing the barriers of actually needing to know the other people personally like rp nowadays seems to be so dependent on, through the anon feature. harkening back to the olden days of rp where all you needed to do was jump into a random forum and start typing... theres also the sense of unpredictability that keeps things fresh- not even the blog owner will know exactly how the story will go, bc there will always be curveballs! its why i love reading tumblr askblogs in general. i dont know exactly how many of the storybeats here were spawned by these curveballs, but me saying that is definitely a good thing! bc that means you guys were able to integrate them into the story pretty seamlessly :)

oh another thing that i love is how kinito is actively making people worse, but not out of actual malice, instead in the 'toxic co-dependent' way, with the anons willingness to disregard their own health for him also feeding into that heavily. i feel like ive seen a lot of interpretations of kinitos relationship with the player that swing too far into either direction- either to '100% irredeemable evil' or 'he would treat me right if given the chance :((('- so its refreshing to see a sort of 'oh this relationship is making both parties worse not out of their own free will' interpretation, like how i personally think it would go. a grey area, perhaps.

like, obviously kinito wants to be better. he wants to be the perfect friend, and i believe he wants to genuinely grow as a person, but he hasnt fully... grown out of those parasocial/harmful tendencies yet. he still believes hes in the right for acting on those tendencies in some aspects, too. however, the anons arent putting up proper boundaries- they're letting kinito fully consume their lives, disregarding their health to focus solely on his cause. while yes, this is probably influenced by kinitos harmful tendencies (specifically his outbursts caused by when he thinks those anons are betraying his trust in some way), one of the first steps in fixing a toxic relationship like this is to establish boundaries- to show them when they're overstepping. this constant walking over of the anons by kinito (while not on purpose) doesnt actually help the relationship in the long run, and most likely just makes it even worse. this then, in turn, makes kinito worse- either through making that co-dependency worse as mentioned b4, or making kinito feel like hes the problem and why their lives are going to shit (which is.... technically correct, in some roundabout way. no offense kinito <3). then the anons try to reason with him, which makes them spend even more time neglecting their health to help him... so on and so forth, the ouroboros eats its own tail, etc etc.

what im saying is that literally everyone here (IN UNIVERSE) needs to go to fucking therapy jesus christ. except like.. O. funnily enough. they're just chilling at this point. good for them. please take this as the highest compliment you could ever receive because i mean it. i love when everything gets worse and all goes to shit!!!!!!!! its so fun and enriching from a story standpoint!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've always viewed him and his relationships with users as that toxic codependent type where Neither of them are good for each other at all... like sure with a lot. A Lot of time and healing and therapy he could be healthy but as it is? Hell no. Nobody here is okay at all. O really is probably the healthiest and even then, they've just accepted they're in their weird limbo-state and they're never coming back. It's... not exactly an ideal situation still!!

Kinito does want to get better, but every attempt in the past to "correct" him always involved some sort of attack on him, his friends reacting in fear/anger, etc. - he genuinely does not understand how to have a healthy relationship and no one has really taught him, and any attempt to try now will... not be received very well. He wants his friends to stay no matter the cost, because it's okay! He'll just show them how perfect he can be! Please, just stay!

And all the anons here... well... I think Black Heart is a pretty good example of everything you described. Theirs is probably just the most obvious deterioration right now (besides Goblin's death, which... was the other side of the coin; sacrificing too much to STOP kinito instead of to work with him). Shrimp's loving their digital life, so they're not a good example of "hey, Nito, don't drag people in!" either.

It's just a very big mess all around...
