Day 15 Very Tough Day

Up at 4:38. Ate a pound of Cottage cheese and my regular 2 muscle milks. So food would have time to digest before the big climb. Started out at 5:50 in the dark. I forgot my headlamp and had to dig through my pack and find it after I started. Rookie mistake. Coming out of the gorge on the goat track it was very steep and narrow. The mist of the foggy damp air blew in the headlamp. It was always coming at me. Around 6:30 things cleared and I could turn off my headlamp. Took a break at 8 and had a red bell pepper and power bar. Saw Beautiful Sun Rise coming up over the mountain today. Took some photos. Really enjoying it. Made it to the Sassafras Shelter by 9:30 and up to 5000 ft. at Cheoah Bald by ten a.m. 7.8 miles, 4 hours and 10 minutes after leaving. First beautiful sunny day. So far first day of sun from sunrise on without a cloud in the sky. I am

feeling very well if I may say so. Eating another bar and a Honey Chrisp apple and half a vegi buger. Really nice in the sun in my t shirt.

It is 9.1 miles to Brown Fork shelter. There's more height then just the start point and end point, because of the up and down to get to the next High Point you're going up you're going down you're going up down it's whenever you go up you're going to go down. I got to the point of what's called Jacob's Ladder its a 650 climb that just seems to go on and on and on. I was really tapped out. It was a first time I almost had to stop on a climb. I try not to stop because then my legs will kind of freeze up from lactic acid. I finally got into the shelter at 3:40. 10 hours after I started 9 hours and 40 minutes I was tired so I got my water. I started feeding. I ate and ate. PT arrived said it was his hardest day yet on the trail. PT brought me 2 clementins he got as trail magic.

14.3 miles in 10 hours. 1.43 miles per hour. Toughest day yet.

Livin the housewife life recently, used my bread maker to mix up some bread dough n made rolls for supper the other night. N made banana bread for dessert.

Tonight is gonna be Chilli and making apple chrisp for dessert. But first I need a nap while the Chilli cooks (in the slow cooker again dw lol), cus my fuckin kittens have lost their minds and decided the bed was a race track the second I tried to sleep last night lmao
