Early Childhood - Outdoor Creative Play
Our children love the Outdoor Classroom! Outdoor creative play fosters imagination and creativity, as seen here, when this student created a nest out of sand, for his large, egg-shaped rock, pretending it was a dinosaur egg that needed warmth to hatch. This type of play encourages problem-solving skills, as students think through scenarios and develop stories. It also promotes physical activity and fine motor skills through hands-on interaction with natural materials. Additionally, outdoor play supports social development, as students often collaborate and communicate with peers during their imaginative adventures. These activities nurture independence, curiosity, and a love for learning.

What our Clients are Saying… "My first appointment did not work out, and I ended up rescheduling, for a day where my time was not so limited. My next appointment was 07/13/2020 and I had a mini melt down just before the Novocaine shot ( I have a severe issue with needles). The way my Doctor and Dental assistant too the time to calm me, means so much to me, when I got the two shots required, it hurt less and less. We had to stop mid procedure when I expressed I had felt pain (which required another shot), but the Doctor stopped completely and did not start again until I was sure that I was numbed completely.
I have NEVER  had a dentist listen to me, and now I am not as afraid to go back for the rest of my treatments. I will be recommending this office to everyone I know in the area :)"
"Fantastic experience. Wonderful to be able to make an appointment for myself and my two daughters, everything from teeth cleaning to orthodontic work, and have it all seen to at once. Very friendly and professional staff. I am so very happy to have found them! I highly recommend!"
"Dr. Sharif was very transparent straightforward and thorough. She explained everything to us in a manner we can understand. Our family was very happy with the procedure and the results. The staff and nurses are very nice and professional. The practice is brand new with all the latest technologies for dentistry. Great place highly recommend!"

Maintaining Your Oral Health During Cancer Treatments
Before, during, and after cancer treatment it is necessary to keep up with your oral health routine. Cancer and cancer treatments can impact your mouth, so talk to our dentist about your specific treatment and what you can do to keep up with your oral health. Here are a few points to consider.
Brush, Floss, and Come Visit Us You should always brush for two minutes, twice each day, and floss regularly. This is your best defense against tooth decay. You should also be visiting our office for a routine examination regularly, however it is especially important to do so before starting cancer treatment. Our dentist can share recommendations about changes you can make to your brushing and flossing routine to help manage potential cancer treatment side effects.
Practice Healthy Habits This is true for everyone. Eat healthy and avoid smoking, whether it is tobacco or electronic cigarettes. A balanced diet and regular exercise will keep your immune system working at its full potential. Make sure your diet is full of diverse fruits and vegetables and low-fat dairy products. Don’t skip out on getting protein through eggs, beans, and chicken.
Keep Your Mouth Clean & Moist A common side effect of cancer treatments such as radiation is dry mouth. Our teeth depend on saliva to help keep the enamel on our teeth strong, but a dry mouth lacking saliva will leave you susceptible to decay and damage. Drink plenty of water to keep your mouth moist. Rinse your mouth frequently, especially after vomiting, to wash away sugars and acids from collecting on your teeth.
After Treatments, Visit Us Keep regularly scheduled visits to our office, particularly when you end treatment. Certain medications can weaken your teeth or leave you at a higher risk for developing oral health issues. Talk to our knowledgeable dental team about your treatment plans and how they can impact your teeth.
Cancer and cancer treatments and medications can have a significant impact on your oral health. Make our dental team part of your support group during your treatment, and inform us of the medications and treatments you are receiving. Together we can work towards solutions that keep your mouth healthy, and your teeth strong.
For more information on keeping your mouth healthy, please contact our office.

150 Years On, Arlington National Cemetery Honors Its First Burial
Army Pvt. William Christman died in service to his country, but until this year his family didn’t even know where he was buried.
A victim of measles, the 20-year-old from Pocono Lake, Pa., died in a D.C. hospital in 1864. But as the first person to be buried at Arlington National Cemetery, Christman has one of the most distinct honors in military history.
The land that would become Arlington was officially designated as a military cemetery a month later.
He enlisted in the 67th Pennsylvania Infantry on March 25, 1864. His brother died during the Seven Days Battle during the Civil War in 1862. His burial spot is likely on the battleground somewhere in southeast Virginia.
