I never finished this so here is my Artificial Chaos Sona WIP

So I had an idea, for a sonic AU: Black Arms infused Maria.

She still gets shot and sends Shadow to earth, but this time she just doesn't stay dead due to the Black Arm cells (from Shadow's blood) she's been infused with by her grandfather. Gerald did this in a last attempt to cure her as he feared GUN would soon come for him and his research- he was right of course... The cells mass multiplying to save the host have changed her body, slowed her aging significantly. Spending a large part of the last 50 years hiding away from GUN after escaping their facility thanks to the commander (once he reached a high enough rank to even discover she was there), she doesn't really look as kindly upon humanity any more. Even though the commander claims Shadow was never found ( and likely dead) she is is searching for him endlessly, becoming very science savvy in the process and gaining full control over her grandfather's creation, the artificial chaos.

She can sense Shadow is alive, the black arm part of her sharing a connection with him. However, this connection also extends to Black doom and when he returns to earth he becomes aware of her. Unlike Shadow this human "child" is far more susceptible to his mind control and influence. Shadow in turn might not fully remember everything, but he feels a strong bond with Maria, in more ways than just his lost memories could explain which confuses him. Since she's on the side of the Black Arms, going against them will become a lot harder for him. Hopefully Sonic and/or Rogue manage to get through to him, or earth will have an issue. Outside of Black Doom messing with her head her goal is to live with shadow on the ARK, away from the humans that could hurt either of them. Black doom offering a way for them to be able to live on earth itself without the threat of humanity coming after them (after all of humanity have become part of them- he meant as food, Maria thought he meant like she was, infused with their essence) did plant some ideas in her head however, even after their defeat, maybe she'd take a page out of Eggman's book and want Marialand, using her grandfather's memory altering tech to create a way to keep people in line.

A tribute piece to one of my favorite levels in Sonic Adventure 2 Cosmic Wall. Not only was the low gravity gimmick fun, but the music here absolutely slaps (I listened to the 30 minute extension a few times while making this XD). I spent a long time trying to think up a good composition and the best I could make was Eggman getting harassed by space squishies (not that I blame him; those things are fucking annoying XP).

I'll be honest, I really love making these despite how annoying and tedious it can be. I enjoy the challenge of looking at a game's textures up close and trying to imperfectly recreate them as best as I can. I'm definitely gonna do more in the future.

I swear, every time I play SA2, my near-perfect, flawless run, would always, somehow, get blundered by these blue pillars of goo. The videogame equivalent to a child molester. And you know why I say that? Because:

They can stretch their arms to fuck-knows-meters length

They can always hit you, even if you are standing meters away from them

They can shoot lasers out of their eyes (and if they are the floating variant, they become even more annoying)

In the Mech stages, they become indestructable, the moment they retract their heads like little sissies, unless you get close enough to hit them

In some instances, they get placed near bottomless pits too, and if you get hit, you get knocked back, meaning BYE BYE

Ain't all that the perfect analogy for these wankers?

Whoever decided to include this as an enemy type, I hope you step on LEGO.

Sort of a "humor me" question, but what would you say are the scariest creatures in the Sonic world, be it through concept, design, or whatever else?

The jump scare ghosts in Pumpkin Hill used to actually get me, once upon a time. I'm pretty immune to them now.

The artificial chaos in Sonic Adventure 2 are pretty strange if you really stop and think about it. Not only are they annoying to deal with, but what even is their biology?

How artificial are their brains, for example? How aware are they? I believe it is suggested they are in some form "alive." But what does that mean, exactly? Are they suffering? A lot to think about. Next to the Biolizard, they are the closest thing we get to horror in the Sonic franchise.

ShtH rewrite new boss concept, black arms corrupted artificial chaos. This new boss is found on the ark, at the end of the mission that involves a certain Croc and a computer room. Being a late game boss fight it has multiple phases/forms, this here is only the base form.

Seeing as Black doom claims that the artificial chaos are part of Gerald's legacy and like Shadow belong to them I figured he might try to "improve" upon them by making them part of the black arms.

Artificial Chaos Chronicle

The Artificial Chaos have lived on the Space Colony Ark for fifty years. How sapient are they? Do they have their own community and culture? Are they immortal or have multiple generations worn their helmets? They wander empty halls. All of the other resident lifeforms are gone. Through them, the Ancients are reborn in space and the otherwise abandoned Ark remains a colony.

I guess when GUN cleaned out the place, it left the Artificial Chaos alone. 

Timeline:

Aboard the Ark, humans create the first generation of Artificial Chaos alongside the Biolizard and the hybrid Hedgehog. The Gizoid attacks them and deactivates. The humans kill each other and exile the Hedgehog.

50 years pass. Biolizard remains in the lower level. The Ark is quiet.

Hedgehog returns with two more hedgehogs, a fox, a bat, an echidna, and a human. The human resembles their progenitor from 50 years earlier. There may or may not be a cat, another echidna, a robot, two gumdrop-looking creatures, and a Chaos who lacks a helmet. Two of the hedgehogs kill the Biolizard. The Ark almost crashes into the Earth. The hybrid Hedgehog seems to perish after saving them all.

Hybrid Hedgehog returns with aliens from 50 years earlier, the other hedgehog who saved the Ark, a crocodile, a chameleon, and a bee.

Alien leader regrows from larva left behind on the Ark. He and the hybrid Hedgehog warp in and out of the Ark before disappearing altogether. The Ark is quiet again.
