babes I'm listening to the silmarillion narrated by Andy Serkis and it's so good. it is feeding my soul
#I'm in the trenches of the unbinding of melkor but soon we will get more on Maedhros my Beloved#and im thinking about a story#I want to write about the elven peoples who chose not to go to valinor#what was their culture like?#im thinking about yavanna as a Mary figure#as in a pathway to Illuvatar/salvation#I want some kind of thematic communion that involves blood#and i want to write a romance for maedhros to please my young self#and to examine the intersection of desire and love and sin#and our powerlessness to save someone who doesnt want to save themselves#but what good we can do when someone is willing to sacrifice to save themselves#im going to have to think about this for a long time first#silmarillion#tolkien
