For class [Storyboading & Video Editing] my mentor asked us to create a 60 second video in Adobe Premier Rush! I decided to create a "how I draw eyes" tutorial. Of course, it's a quick video so I'm sorry of it's a little hard to follow, we had a time limit!

So, OBS was lagging for me a lot! I did delete a lot of storage but it continued so I'll be trying Samsung screen record for my next speed paint attempt! If you have any suggestions, let me know!

For video editing, this was my first time using Rush but I absolutely loved it! It's very easy to use and intuitive. It reminded me of when I used to make AMVs in Windows Movie Maker! Except it's a lot more stylish, hahaha. I need to find a free editing software that's as easy to use for when I'm done college, ahhhh...!

I use they/he but I don’t care that much so whatever.

I live in Alola! I moved here a few years ago and did the island challenge. We had the league by then so I took it on, but I got beat by some kid with like, a space god or something? I dunno, I think it might have something to do with that alien invasion thing that happened a few years before I got here.

right now I’m working on getting my passport stamps and I help with Professor Kukui’s research sometimes.

I’m new to rotumblr, and also sideblogs in general, so if I’m doing something wrong, or there’s something I could do better, please let me know!

when Avery says he’s working on his passport stamps, he does mean completing the Pokédex. I’m treating this as being exactly the same as in base sun and moon, minus ultrabeasts, legendaries, and mythicals. He keeps them at the ranch on akkala island and they are all well cared for.

despite Avery being based on my player character in my first playthrough of moon, he does not have plot armor and is not the protagonist. Elio and Selene both exist and went through the story of SuMo/USUM several years before he moved to Alola. He’s just your average joe.

WIP Whursday

@monsterbrush snagged me and tagged me. The mission? To find some snippet languishing in my billions and billions of unfinished WIPs and to drag it out into the light.

This has been sitting unfinished for more than half a decade. It's a future!fic Nightmare Dork University tale in my Footlights and Frontispieces AU.

This story is called "What Happens At Con Stays At Con".

“Dad, it says right on the website that everyone is welcome.  Uncle Piki is coming along, even though Uncle Jack and I will be on a different programming track than he is…”

“Baby girl, that’s the point.  You and Jack and Piki will have stuff to do.  Pitch and I are happy to be your cheering squad, and I’m sure he can use it as an excuse to hole up and write, but it doesn’t sound like I’m personally gonna find anything that will interest me for a whole weekend with geeks.”

Father and daughter usually looked forward to facetiming by weblink once a week.  It meant that, no matter where in the world his entomologist progeny could be found at a given time, Coz could reassure himself that Seraphina was fine. Said progeny had definitely been in some WEIRD places over the years, chasing butterflies and moths and crawly things with way too many legs, doing research for both her career as a scientist and her sideline of illustrating the ARTHROPOD ABBEY books that she and Coz's brother-in-law-by-marriage, Jack Sickle, had turned into a bestselling children’s book series.

But the weblink also meant that Coz didn’t have to leave his comfortable home for too many reasons other than working at the garage or teaching his night course in military history.  Of course, when there was an opportunity for him to travel with Pitch to Los Angeles when Pitch had to personally yell at the producers who were destroying his screenplays, Coz was ready, willing and able to jump onto a cross-country flight with him. It was only right, after all, to back up his husband and provide emotional support in the cushiest hotel rooms with ample room service that somebody else was paying for.

However, those LA trips were usually not more than once or twice a year. The one time he had visited his daughter while she was on expedition in El Yunque National Forest had been enough for him.  The treehouse that Sera had lined up for his stay there had been novel for the first two nights, but just too far-out to repeat the experience.  Coz was much happier when he could sleep in his own bed alongside Pitch, in the Bronx rowhouse that had once belonged to his grandparents.  

So this current conversation, where Seraphina was asking him and Pitch to come to some weird conference in New England covering all sorts of pop culture, was making him nervous. 

On the screen, Seraphina pressed her knuckles into the bridge of her nose in frustration, and then inspiration seemed to strike.  She resurrected the winsome tone that had let her get away with mayhem until the age of nine.  “But Daaaaaaaad… there will be booze… and swords.”

There was a snorting noise coming from the direction of Coz’s left shoulder.  Pitch had walked into the room unannounced. “Both incredible incentives, I’m sure.”

Sera’s other parent put one slender hand on his husband’s brawny arm. He leaned in towards the screen and said, “You needn’t try so hard to convince us, Seraphina.  As it turns out, I’ve already accepted my invitation to speak on three panels and to host a kafeeklatsch, which meets the terms of my honorarium.  I’m sure your father will be more than happy to make the trip with me.” Pitch unloosed the full sharkiness of his smile. “Won’t you, dear.”

Coz resigned himself to his fate as Seraphina pumped her fist in the air at the other end of the weblink.

Me trying to beat autism

Was playing Uno with some friends and I often hear a song/audio and it becomes my vocal stim which I can't stop repeating, and I was singing sigma sigma boy every few seconds and then they said Two cards if you sing sigma sigma boy (applying to anyone not just for me because I wasn't the only one saying it) and since I needed another audio to replace sigma sigma boy I asked for one and someone said I don't want a lot for Christmas so I went with that and after a while of three of us singing Christmas songs they got tired and said Two cards for any Christmas songs and I whined for another song to replace it and I got La bebecita bebelyn y bebe whisky fuma marihuana y tmb se mete piki, and they all got mad and I couldn't beat the autism power of vocal stims

re: the Most Likely game, I want to know more about what sorts of mischief Mahrias and Viter get into together. :) are they the kind of duo that people start to worry what they're up to if they've both been quiet/missing for too long?

Their parents don't really care what they get up to, but Lark (their father's Nivada) definitely notices and tries his best to keep them out of too much trouble.

If you tell one of them not to do something, they'll immediately side-eye each other like "challenge accepted" lol

People think that Mahrias is the mastermind behind most of their mischief, but Viter is actually a little evil genius hiding under a mask of innocence. He knows that he can use his adorableness as a manipulation tactic and he does so often.

He's also very creative which is why he always wins "nasuh piki" - a game that he made up with Mahrias. It involves going up to someone and telling them a completely made up story and seeing how far they can push it before the other person realises "that's bullshit" lol

One of their favourite pranks was the time they taught a zarimp phrases that made it look like it was directly talking to Lark, like "Lark, my good man, fetch me some grapes at once" and "Lark, I am naked. Why are we not allowed the dignity of clothes?" (This may be what led to Lark knitting them little jumpers.)

They love visiting Auren, because Osin happily gets involved in a prank war with the two of them. He's a big kid at heart and they love it that he's so willing to play with them.

He has an ongoing prank with the two of them involving a really ugly Shraki figurine that Osin made when he first started learning to whittle. Whoever has it has to try and sneak it into the others possession without them noticing. Mahrias and Viter are very good at this - one time they hid it on the top of Osin's four-poster bed so it was peeking down at him. It took him two months to notice and Visesha was very confused when he started crying with laughter during sex one time lol

hello tumblr i am back once more, now making part 2 of the thief mage post with more of the info i have made. so first, some things i didn't say last post and random facts: her name is Piki, the gem on her chest is actually a gift from her step-dad after she pulled off her first big heist. she will refuse to kill anybody unless 100% necessary, she'll at most damage them slightly. okay some more random facts not sprouting off of last time: she can make some really good garlic bread and apple juice. i couldn't put it in with the picrew, but her staff is very damaged. she's actually immune to light magic, so she has that going for her. she always carries around a small dog plush in her bag. avid soup enjoyer, allergic to fish. if anybody has any questions about her, yall can ask me about em

Hmmmm.

I'm not sure whether the fact that nine out of ten of my most-recently-POSTED works being prompt-driven, as part of fandom creation events/gift exchanges, skews the spirit of this ask game. I personally do not see ANY kind of pattern, other than a tendency towards either run-on sentences or short bursts of dialogue.

Maybe my Gentle Readers are better at this kind of analysis.
