Wow I'm actually writing the Soothsayers... amazing. I'm gonna go ahead and link to my intro post about them too. And if you want some music to fit the mood of this, you should listen to this!

This is what she's always wanted. To travel up to the stars, to see the majesty of the cosmos up close. Her younger self, living under ground and only catching rare glimpses of the sky, never would've thought it possible. It should be a dream come true.

But not like this.

"Primus, look at them all." Beside her, Empress takes in the horrific sight outside their transport.

Thousands, if not tens of thousands, of Quintesson ships dot the space around Cybertron, hanging ominously in formation. They were no longer pretending to be benevolent visitors who wished to bring Cybertron and its inhabitants into the galactic community. This was an invasion. A takeover after getting their prey to do the work of setting up everything the way they wanted. It made Chariot sick.

She turns away from the screen, "I can't keep watching." The fact that they were leaving everyone and everything they knew behind was hard enough. But knowing what was likely to happen after they left? Guilt seized Chariot's spark. "Are we doing the right thing?"

Empress doesn't reply right away.

The decision for their gestalt to leave Cybertron had been eating away at them all. It wasn't something the Soothsayers had agreed to lightly; it hadn't even been their idea. When it became clear that the Quintessons had plans to not simply subjugate transformers, but turn them into mindless slaves... the decision was made for them. If the Soothsayers stayed, not only would they be in danger, but everyone around them would be as well. How far would the Quintessons go to get their hands on combiners? What would they do with access to that power? It was safest not to tempt them.

Which left five bots — plus the consciousness of their combiner — to drift away from the only home they'd ever had, in the hopes that they could be spared whatever fate might have befallen them otherwise. To leave their remaining friends to their fates.

"I don't know," Empress finally answers. "We're doing our best, but..." It didn't feel right. Not that it mattered how it felt; it was too late to turn back now. With a sigh, Empress presses a servo against Chariot's lower back. "Let's go get ourselves prepped for stasis. We don't need Ro throwing a fit."

Chariot can't help but sneak one last look at Cybertron. Surrounded by an armada of Quintesson forces, the planet looks so small. It was resilient, along with its inhabitants, Chariot knew that well. That knowledge did little to ease the fear she felt.

The pair leaves to get ready to go into stasis. Their journey had only just begun, and they still had a long road ahead of them.

The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: in Ruina and L Corp. Hod, in LImbus Company Heathcliff. Heath's temperament IS sth not ideal but his heart is in the right place and I love how he's pretty smart and can read ppl.

The character everyone else loves that I don’t: ...hm. Mephi in Limbus Company. She's there and exists and I'm indifferent to her

The character I love that everyone else hates: Netzach

Her reactions are understandable (in the same way Kyubey's are aka all theoretical and the human emotions are foreign) during L Corp but Library of Ruina literally happens because she didn't get closure like other Department heads and had a meltdown. There's a mf reason department head are iffy on her and bruh it's just a good thing she learns her shit during Ruina.

Joke's on you, I'm into that shit. Homestuck was an enormous and entirely positive part of my late teens and to this day there's nothing else like it. Like sometimes you just need to step back and think about how cool Homestuck is. MSPA invented a new format that HS constantly tested the limits of, giving us a comic where some of the panels are looping gifs and some are flash animations and some are fully playable video games. It had more prose than War and Peace by the time it was halfway done. It invented the concept of blackrom. A good third of it was written in a single year-long creativity bender. The fandom was like Inklings For Gay People and is still coughing out published artists. The cast is split 50/50 by gender and also by glasses wearing status just because...math. It wielded recurring motifs and colors and shapes and phraseology like an armory of weapons. At its peak it had a canon to cosplay rate of less than one hour. It contributed very significantly to keeping me sane in high school. Reading it gives you a very specific Homestuck Accent and will haunt you with concepts and imagery forever. Homestuck!

Swindle definitely did not, but he was willing to let his feelings fade away if Hook showed he wasn't interested.

I don't think Hook necessarily resisted his feelings, but he was very wary and anxious about realizing that he did have a non-platonic interest in Swindle.

What was their "flirting stage" like?

Lmao, Swindle was basically flirting with a brick wall 😂 Swindle wasn't being too pushy, since his intent was to see if Hook responded positively to his flirting. And I can't see Swindle as being like... lecherous. They were complimentary towards Hook and basically expressing a desire to spend more time with Hook.

Meanwhile Hook was just like "Oh, Swindle's being pleasant and friendly", but occasionally would get a little flustered and not understand why he was reacting like that to something Swindle said.

Were they each other's first anything (kiss, relationship, etc.)?

Swindle is Hook's first everything. Hook didn't even know he was capable of having romantic feelings for someone before Swin.

Hook is Swindle's first relationship while being part of gestalt, so that's been something to adjust to.

What is their most common argument about?

Probably about how both of them are prone to overworking and not taking proper care of themselves. It doesn't always turn into a argument per se, but it's not something either of them are able to get better at overnight; it's a process. So just by virtue of it being something they both have to keep working at to improve, it has more chance of being an issue.

Who said "I love you" first, and what was the situation?

Hook. It was in the aftermath of Swindle having a PTSD induced panic attack about the loyalty coding. While they were talking about things afterwards, Hook realized how much he cared for Swindle and wanted him to know it. Swindle was stunned, but said I love you back.

Who is better at comforting the other? How do they usually comfort each other?

Swindle is better at it I'd say. He's good at reading people and figuring out what to say in a given situation to get the desired outcome. Which makes it sound manipulative when I explain it like that lol. But he genuinely cares about and wants to help Hook.

As for how they comfort each other, it depends on what they need. Sometimes just being in the same room together is enough; if Hook is overwhelmed or upset about something he can't always talk about it until he's calmed down, so sharing space is what helps most. They do tend towards holding each other more often than not.

Do they prefer verbal or physical affection?

It depends! They've both been surprised by how much they want and enjoy physical affection with each other though. Hook always gets flustered if Swindle compliments him or says they love him. Swindle likes casual touch, and will just melt if Hook gently cups their face or chin. They're also a sucker for sweet words, and while Hook isn't adept at flirting, he's skilled at his expressing his affection for Swindle.

What reminds them of each other?

Hmm... for Hook about Swindle, if he sees some tech or a ship or weapon that he's heard Swin talk about. Possibly even names of places that Swindle has mentioned having been to before?

For Swindle about Hook, uh... I'm blanking, this is a hard question 😅

What gifts do they typically give each other?

Swindle can be a bit hard to get gifts for, since he's the guy who knows how to get anything and everything he may need. So Hook tends to make things to give to Swindle. He's practically minded, so they're useful items like a subspace storage container or an upgrade/mod Swindle has mentioned in passing.

The most common gift Swindle gets for Hook is definitely sweets. Hook has a MAJOR sweet tooth, and he's not exactly the type to splurge on himself. But Swindle will also try to track down old Cybertronian stuff that may have survived the war, be that books/media/information/etc that exists digitally.

Swindle did find someone to make golden lenses and a matching visor for Hook, for when he ever feels like switching from his current red back to his original optic color.

Hook is taller, so he probably takes up a bit more space just because of his size haha!

I don't know if cold feet would even be a thing with Cybertronians...

The first character I first fell in love with: Naoto. After her it was anime!Yu bc he is goals. 10/10.

The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: Yukiko. I thought earlier that she was boring and eccentric for the sake of it and while I am bummed that if you ignore her SL she has that first impression and it stays as such. She's a good character and her SL is pretty... eh easy to misinterpret who I don't blame ppl who do that - you need to have the experience of "do I want to X out of my own volition or peer pressure" to get it.

The character everyone else loves that I don’t: Idk if this counts but Chie isn't the "best girl" to me. She's an IT member I like and think is neat & likable but not the superior one.

The character I love that everyone else hates: ...does a character who I'd write at most canon div. count? In that case it's probably Drama Club SL girl. She's been neat so far but the shoehorned romance SL is super annoying & I'd probably undo that.

The character I used to love but don’t any longer: The Music Club SL girl. I don't relate to her as much as earlier and it's probably why.

The character I would totally smooch: either Yu or Naoto. Yu is closer to an actual fictional crush and Naoto a spirit animal/inspiring character.

A pairing that I despise: Yu x Ai. Sorry guys, I just don't get why Yu would fall for Ai after she's treated Yu like shit. He'd probably give her a second chance after she's learnt what not to do but liking Ai romantically? It's just uncanny and to me tells how it's nonfluent romance SL logic.

...then again despise is a strong word, closest to my POV is "I don't get it nor ship that but if you ship that I'm letting you be on your lane and exist there in peace since it's my NOTP". Useless hate is useless and the chances on me disliking the ship is that I don't get it.

(I also don't get the charm of Ai since I personally wouldn't ever befriend a person who's like "I won't hang out with you unless you skip lessons with me". I get the point of her SL and what it shows, but just... it's not for me, chief. It's against my personal values and that's why it doesn't sync with me. She's there and exists, I guess, but that's really it.)
