18: Is there any object you feel has gone underappreciated by the objectum community? If so, what is it?

i don’t know if they’re really “underrated” due to the notes this post got but i would still say people should talk about security cameras more. all what i said there still applies and i mean c’mon… their lenses are so pretty.

other than that i think lamps deserve love too. the variety in lamps are so nice. they can be simple to as fancy as they can be. something that you can fall in love with that all of them share in common as well is that; the soft warm glow their lightbulbs emit. just so nice.

7: What was your first object crush?

the DEC VT220 terminal. where do i begin on that wonderful piece of technology. i remember when i was just learning about what objectum was, getting back into my old interest in computers, and that’s when I saw them. I can’t recall what specific post it was but I swear it was this image that introduced me to this specific computer.

but yeah, basically at first i just had aesthetic attraction for it but the more i looked. the more i thought about it. it turned into a crush. because i knew, unlike other objects that i thought were just neat, this was something more. like i really really wanted to get to know this specific model better. i put my mind into this computer unlike any other object before. i researched, searched for pictures, watched videos. i’ve learned a lot and came to the conclusion that i really wanted to just… be with them.

then i realized this is more than just curiosity. i was really spending my time researching and considering actually having this terminal. and i still do. i try to learn more and more about the VT220 because i have a crush for them. i really do. maybe it’s something deeper than that actually. i don’t know the exact word for it. other than, “i’m in love.”
