what people still manage to not understand is that none of max’s teammates since he came into the sport were bad, hes just too good. like when max came into red bull practically as a rookie, daniel was GOOD. like he wasnt just another driver he was good good, yet max still ran him out of the team in just 2 years. he had that team all to himself by the time he was 20.

Sorry for putting this in your inbox, but, how do you begin to reconcile with the idea of your favourite drivers being rich powerful men in a society like ours? I don’t look up to them, I just like to see them drive in circles, and I think they’r pretty cute too, but is it irresponsible to overlook their out of track behaviours, or liking them and supporting them in spite of disapproving them sometimes? Am I being careless? Or is the morally pure website getting to me?

man idk. most of the positive feelings i associate with these men has to do with what they do on track and the completely made up versions of them i blog about in here… i have no real life connections to them and i do not know what they’re really like and im not the one whos paying them millions so like i dont see how taking bits of your day to reblog fun posts about f1 will transfer the blame of systemic oppression onto you. its obviously totally up to you to support whoever but the drivers are just the tip of the iceberg, the sport operates under late stage capitalism so im not sure how “ethical” any of it can be
