THEY MENTIONED ENCHANCIA!!!! THEY SAID IT BY NAME!!! WE GOT A VAGUE AND SUBTEXTUAL SHOUTOUT TO THE SECRET LIBRARY!!!! FUCK YEAH!!!! My Sofia the First loving heart is so happy! I love when peak is mentioned in other peak.

Also the book WAS DETORIATING??? SINCE WHEN??? That is so interesting to me. Like dude, does this imply that the book was sitting there throughout stf canon and just. Wasting away? 41 years does not fuck up a book THAT badly cmon! Also weird thing no2: how the fuck do they know where the book is on the shelf of the secret library? i swear them books just flew the fuck off somewhere and i barely even knew where they put them how was Sofia and crew able to find it? I mean plot wise he had to die bc Mateo kinda developed a dependence on bro for everything. Even as far back as like the Greatest Wizard song he sang in one episode where he mentioned wanting to be like his grandfather Alacazar. It was a liiiiitle interesting to watch him fangirl like that.

Alacazar was right he needs to be his own master fr fr. If he were still alive then Mateo would've been hanging at his side and trying to emulate him. The death rlly woke bro up like that and that's massive respect to the writers fr fr.

I love how canonically it absolutely makes sense Alacazar didn't know he had a grandkid bc 41 years and then like 3 ish in the library (post pilot) makes you skip a generation but he just believed Mateo outright like that? Crazy. Which side of the family is he a grandpa from? No way is he actually from the mother's side... I might be forgetting lore but like is he on the mother's or father's side this feels like something I wanna know.

Bro I keep watching episodes with him and coming to the conclusion that I don't think even he knows what side he's on. Like he still, despite getting absolutely disowned by Elena, loves her enough that her getting hurt is The Line He Cannot Cross which is so sweet, but then in the same direction you swipe her scepter like make it make sense my guy.

Side note: I love that Esteban makes a slight remark abt the scepter and then Ash suddenly decides she's gonna steal the scepter and bro IMMEDIATELY backtracks like "haha guys pls dont take it serious 😥😥😥 it was just a joke not an actual plan😥😅😣😣😣😖😖"

His dynamic with Ash is interesting. I wanna see more of that. They bounce off each other interestingly.

After participating in the nice rb thread a few posts back and also watching more Esteban I've realized one thing: HE HAS COWARD POWERS!!! THE TELEPORTATION POWERS ARE COWARD POWERS!!!! I'm sure Wes/drzone said that already, but it's real fucking convenient how when the villains escape in Spirit of a Wizard, they use Esteban's escapism powers. Like girl imho those powers are just the cooler way to run away from your problems like instead of acknowledging... well... the harm your actions caused (like murder of elenas parents which esteban my guy YOUR PARENTS DIED TOO BE FR!!!!!!), you run away like a coward and one way ticket yourself to the jail cell instead of TRYING to apologize like chat be fr.

But now his fancy green powers let him do the coward part but make it fancier which feels like an Esteban thing like he's a big fancy fan in my eyes.

Btw could green imply like the envy/jealousy? If I recall my emotion color theory correctly, I believe that is what green signifies. He was sort of jealous/envious of Elena in the first seasons, was he not? Just a thought lol.

I like the intriguing new power that is that Esteban can just snap things out of people's hands. Like girl, that is so cool. That genuinely gives you the most grated advantage of all time. Imagine that in a battle, you first teleport everyone's magic weapons to a mysterious location for your other equally armed villain besties to pick up and THEN you defeat their asses with more green spells.

Question being: I fucking hope we get more powers from Esteban's staff. We haven't seen enough of it (especially not enouvh with a trained formaer chancellor) yet to truly understand the scope of what Esteban can do with magic stick. I want to know, for normal and sane reasons of course.

I feel like they're gonna use this thread of Esteban not wanting to hurt Elena as a method of getting her to forgive him. Imho, it's gonna be a huge part in WHY she forgives him, and I feel like that on its own is kinda lacking?

Even if this show is about change or whatever HE ISNT SHOWING CHANGE!!! I DO NOT SEE WHERE HE IS CHANGING!!! YOU ARE STILL ALIGNED WITH THE MALVAGOS ESTEBAN!!! YOU ASKING ASH TO NOT HURT ELENA IS NOT A CHANGE!!!! WHERE IS YOUR CHANGE YOU FUCKING DIMWITTTTTTTTT!!!!!! GET YOUR ASS SOME CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT AND WE'LL TALK THEN!!!
