well, thanks to global variables (would genuinely rather explode than touch rpg maker's ingame variable ui) and the turn counter function, i have a working demo of a phase message system for the first time since i started trying to get any phase message system working all the way back in basically day one. this is at least 85% of the reason i made that turn count function. i'll have to figure out where to put the player phase message so that it pops up before the party window does. admittedly i feel like having this whole setup split up like that isn't super optimal but i genuinely don't know a better way to do it with how asinine rpg maker's setup for instant turn combat is. i am going to have to start doing some cleanup and maybe minor optimizations to this plugin's code pretty soon. i've been fucking around in here too much. i can feel my technical debt increasing.
