Google drive link for every concept art from Tales of Asteria that the official account ever posted to Tw/tter. They're interesting and point out little details like Stahn's sleeping cap being a different color than his pajamas for the sake of matching Lilith's ribbon.

Attached pictures are just previews; there's 148 of them. I don't think I can tag every single character, so I settled for game titles. I'm pretty sure I got all of them.

I wasn't sure if there was a convenient spot to view all of them like Rays's concept art does, so I put them together.

There's a Memorial Book for Tales of Asteria that has concept art in it. It may or may not have some that they never posted to Tw/tter. It's a very expensive book though so I can't buy it to find out.

Japanese Tales Fans Vote Their Favorite Tales Games In Recent Survey

Japanese website Net Lab has made another Tales related survey for fans to vote; the topic this time is favorite Tales games. The poll ran from June 27, 2023 to July 4, 2023 and has a total of 10, 344 votes overall.

Before I reveal the results, there are three things I want to let you know:

This is a Japan-only poll because the admins did not want overseas fans to vote due to possible illegal voting.

Fans can vote up to three games.

Please do not be vocal about the games/titles you hate or don’t particularly; if you don’t have anything nice to say, keep it to yourself.

Here are the results from 1st to 24th (I’ll add in the number of votes the game has received and a comment that pertain to the respective game translated via Google Translate and me trying to make it as cohesive in English):

i dont know how controversial this is because ive seen people voice questions about whats going to happen after rays' shutdown, but i wholeheartedly think bamco should stop investing so much into making tales gacha games, as they simply havent been a viable way to keep the community focused on tales

rays honestly has the best case scenario shutdown-wise, as opposed to:

-asteria, which lasted 10 years and got a rather abrupt eos announcement after 10 years

-the global version of rays and tolink, both of which hardly lasted a long time compared to beasts like gbf

-crestoria, whose rocky launch ended up shaking it up in a way it couldnt ever recover from the initial stumble

-luminaria, whose weird gameplay practices and lack of legacy cast members caused it to be quickly left in the dust by the community at large

it is understandable that rays is concluding, because it was at LEAST able to tell its story to the end. counting how many shutdowns there have been, only one ending on a less disappointing note is pretty rough.

(i am not even going to get into the predatory aspects of gacha here, but know those motivate my opinion strongly)

ultimately, i think bamco should focus on the older mainline games at this point. as much as i dont like suggesting remasters, because there HAS been a trend of remasters being done for games that get a full modern-game-tier price tag, it would effectively be the best way to not let tales die. theres many titles that people want brought to modern consoles. thats the reality of it. arise for one has failed to bring back the things people associate tales with

hell, a good number of games have never gotten translated and people would be happy with getting those! though on a smaller scale, all the ps3 additions from tov got translated (even if the general handling of it, like not updating the original translated script for consistency, has its flaws). admittedly, translating a full game would take more than handling a few hours' worth of scenes, but my point is that there is an audience for this.

however, thinking about the awkward tos switch launch (and other past mishandlings of the franchise) doessss make me wonder if bamco is capable of treating tales with any decency at this point. who knows!

so crestoria (middle) has the highest resolution sprites on top of being animated, but contains artefacting like rays (right)

asteria has the "tallest" sprites and no artefacting at all but gets cropped compared to rays and cresty

About the future of My Gaming Diary tags...

Let's get into the series franchise I want to discuss. First, Crestoria shuts down one day after DeliPa starts airing, then Luminaria few months later (the announcement even coincides with 5th anniversary of Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS too!), then almost one year later the PNG-heavy Asteria follows suit as well.

And today, unfortunately, Tales of the Rays fell victim of being defunct by July 23, 2024. Similar to Yuki Yuna wa Yuusha de aru Hanayui no Kirameki, this was announced just two months after its final anniversary (in Rays' case, 7th). Is this saddens you? Yes. Am I shocked? A bit, because I had a bad feeling when I heard ABSOLUTELY NO NEWS about the new content that was supposedly released few days earlier, just like Symphogear XDU did. But after I heard about the news that offline version was in production, I'm a bit relieved, so there's still a chance to revisit your old memories even when the online one shuts down. Now Crestoria casts will be incomplete forever just like they did with Asteria, and Luminaria casts will never get a chance to shine in The Rays...

(Keep in mind that this is from JP Rays, as EN Rays is already gone far before it)

Moving back to the topic, about 'My Gaming Diary' tag, it would seem that it's far most unlikely to be updated because my main focus is on my gaming experience. With Idol Land PriPara focusing too much on Coord reruns with very little new Coords added, I doubt that I can continue for too long if this keeps up. Therefore, since many of my mobile game shuts down like Pretty Cure Tsunagaru Puzzlun and Tales of Link (another Tales Of mobile game), I highly doubt I will continue on this tag anymore if PriPara shuts down too. So I would thank everyone in advance for those who follow my gameplay experience, and it was fun when it lasted. But I won't stop using my Tumblr though, I will keep posting for more of new content that I'm interested in, so you don't need to worry about that.

[Tales of Another Eden] to the "Everything Connected Future" - 3

Tomorrow Tales're breaking their half-backed outdated concept of "Prime Dimension" introduced in ToX 2, HARD to fit in the modern-day Howard Wiseman's multiversal model of the universe all modern-day neighbors are based on. Basically, what is ToX 2 game in ASTERIA? A project started 10 years ago themmed "Сan you chose a girl over the world"? Here is Orie talking about it herself.   

People were saying "MOBAGE are not canon", "cameos" this, "jokes" that, so I pretty much enjoy them talking about Orie now. "They are trying to sell her as Asteria face now" no, dear friends, Asteria FACE is not her, but oops, she is officially reavealed to be THE head of the whole multiversal mess on Tales side,while Yuri were drawing away all attention from what really matters to themselves.   

 Yes, WE MIGHT pay for this with Crestoria and ToLink be revealed NOT be in Prime Dimension, but it is the price I'm ready to pay, cause two Prime Chronoses is buuuuuuuuuulsh*t. As you know, Victor is another Ludger, and he's still okay by Asteria's end... too bad, world is not. THUS... if there is a way to support the Rays the way the Rays are doomed 

as THE RAYS and promised "migration" happens BEFORE app suffers Crestoria's fate... yes, why not, but the whole concept overall is SO dawn complex and poorly connected, they're just putting over it a whole another layer of info BASED on well-known (? not in the west for sure) lore, 

and DEEM it MAIN canon in Prime Dimension, the rest being branches and altered history.

for the purposes of this event, do the gachas count as side games or should we still stick to side characters there? In particular I was eying the Recollection cast, but...

Good question! For this event when it comes to which characters are the main focus, it would be characters that don't have the same spotlight or has no spotlight compared to a lot of the "mainline cast" in the Tales Series (e.g. Niche Tales characters, Supporting characters like Noelle from Abyss or the Sparrowfeathers from Zestiria, or NPCs). These characters can come from the games, but they can come from other official medias too (Tales manga, light novels, movies, etc.)

Gachas such as Rays, Asteria, Link, Crestoria, & Luminaria would only count Supporting Characters and NPCs instead of its main cast. For example, Ayncia or Beatrice from Link, Gareth Outrigger from Rays, Orie from Card Evolve/Asteria, Sonia from Crestoria, or Frederick Logerot from Luminaria. From my knowledge, the Recollection cast is very much involved in Rays' new story & promotional material, so they are treated as a main cast and wouldn't count for the event.

As for what niche tales characters mean, it would be counting the casts from tales games that are not talked about such as Summoner's Lineage, Tactics, Breaker, Commons, Wahrheit, Material Dungeon, Narikiri Dungeon, the original characters from Fandom/Eternia Online, the Rufres Tribe in Reve Unitia or ND2/ND3.

I haven't actually looked into it yet, but... what even is the premise for Tales of Link and Tales of Asteria? In regards to the crossover elements. Rays had them taken from their worlds, Crestoria had them all having existed in the same world under different circumstances. So where do Link and Asteria fall on that?

Made myself a tier list of all of Yuri's outfits... or at least, as many as I could remember to look for. I probably still missed some because he has so many. Crops are weird because they were all different and some looked really bad putting them in a specific shape on the list maker, and I couldn't have gotten them all to be the same size.

Sorta included how I feel about the hair styles too since that's basically part of a Yuri Lowell outfit. He's Bamco's personal barbie so I had to also consider his hairstyles since they always mess around with his hair.

This doesn't include in game DLC cameo outfits because those aren't really his outfits. His White Day alt is there twice because he has the Cretsoria version with the sleeves showing in his artwork, and the Asteria version with the full suit on.

Most of the Japanese style outfits are ranked together because they're all very same-y and more generic than say, his Crestoria version. One is from his Gintama Rays collab but I don't really feel differently about it.

In good news I don't actively dislike any of the ones from "eh" and upward - the "eh" is just, well, it's there I guess. It's not awful to look at. There's only one outfit for him that I look at in horror.

Both Asteria's 8th anni outfit and his Prima Stella outfit in "he" make me crazy. I do really love his outfit as Claw, but also, Claw gets bias rights, too. White True Knight Yuri was intentionally Flynn color coded in Flynn's standard pose and it looks great on him. His Crestoria outfit appeared only once before the game shut down and it haunts me that we'll never get to see his story to completion... but I love his outfit and the idea of a transgressor storyline for him (and the fact that he, like Vicious, doesn't hide his Stain of Guilt). I adore Yuri's Spirit Gear outfit even if that corset looks like it'd snap him in half if he bent over with how tight it is and how itty bitty his waist is. I don't really have anything particular to say about his Dress Up Collection outfit (other than standard anime girl pose looks good on him), and same with his other TF2024 outfit.

Teehee Little Shit Yuri gets the crowning spot because the whole fit and the pose decimated me on impact and hasn't stopped decimating me since.
