Anchor stayed still for a bit, before slowly tilting his head to the side, to properly face the other.

"Just the usual, yeah... 'nd I like sleeping outside more, anyway. It really is nice out here... I like being outside."

Anchor replied, a brief moment of light in his eyes, though his voice remained soft and dull, almost.

"Yeah. Tha's fine. I'll be here all night, so you can stay 's long as you need, its okay."

He reassured, before rolling his head back to where it had been, lying still. Then, he shifted over slightly to the side, in an attempt to create space for Izem if he wanted to sit, or anything.

It went quiet again, but suddenly, silence didn't feel quite right anymore, not with the presence of someone else near, now. With a small breath, he spoke again.

"Can't get back to sleep either, or something..? I know nightmares 'n stuff do that a lot, don't they?"

Blood. The sound of cracking bones. A spine-tingling scream of horror and agony and the sputtering and choking of someone's final breaths.

Izem looked down at his hands, the blood and guts dripping from them, seeming to flow endlessly like water.

He slowly looked back up at the faceless figures that surrounded him, their non-existent faces contorting in what he'd only assume to be horror.

"Sevens- what the hell is wrong with you?!"

"You murderer!"

"Holy shit... Is that-"

Izem swallowed as he stared down at the corpse of the person he had presumably just killed. The features were familiar, but not precise enough to answer his questions... Not when they were smashed against the pavement like that.

He began to shake uncontrollably. A memory played in his head while he stared down at the remains of someone's skull.

"I... But he- I was- you didn't see him!" Izem began to protest wildly, a vision of the past taking shape before him.

"Get him out of here before he hurts someone else!"

"To think... And a Noble's SON no less!"

Izem felt millions of hands begin to grab at him, pulling him down, down, down. A particularly wet hand wrapped itself around the back of his neck and began to pull hard.

"This is my revenge, pussycat. Ya thought ya could get away with this, didn't ya? But don't worry. The March family always wins in the end."

Izem shot up in a cold sweat, barely able to control his breathing. His pupils were wide as they darted around fearfully, tail lashing behind him.

'It was just a dream...' He thought, as the familiar surroundings of Savanaclaw began to register in his mind.

Despite the comfort of the familiar, though, Izem couldn't help but still feel the choking sensation that was pulling him down. He couldn't go back to sleep like this.

He practically threw himself from his bed and slipped on a pair of sandals. He was going to need to go for a walk.

A hard and jagged, yet sort of cylindrical piece of debris rattles down a wall, its puppeteer exerting substantial amounts of force to push it down, yet its sound not seeming quite real under a nearby commotion.

In its trail, is left a faint line, positioned alongside two others, and another ten or so groups of five.

A harsh sigh rings out.

"It don't ev'n bloody mark properly. What a fuckin' waste."

They huff dejectedly, bitterness swirling in their tone, their irritancy palpable in the air. He stays, breathing audibly for a short moment, before he stills.

"...Fuck."

They breathe out, before crashing to the ground suddenly, legs collapsing out from under them. Tears well up in their eyes and continue to fall, even as they jerk a hand up to wipe at them furiously, before giving up all together.

Sobs continue to wrack their body, continuing to echo out, yet reaching no one.

It was silent and dark by the time they lifted themselves back up again.

ANCHOR LORE COMIN' RIGHT UP FOR UUUU !!!!

Ever since that day six years ago, Anchor's parents have grown extremely overprotective of him, wanting to do everything in their power to ensure that Anchor doesn't meet the same fate as his only friend did.

After having to move out of his hometown, Anchor hadn't been able to leave the house, his parents refusing to let him out of worry and concern for his safety. Despite them not having much money, they try to do what they think is best for their son, and try to protect him from physical harm.

And even though he desires freedom, he knew that arguing, or saying anything wouldn't get him anywhere. His family had always been stubborn. And he knew that they were just worried, and caring in the best way they could.

But he didn't want any of it.

He just wanted his friend back.

okay ive decided that actually gatekeeping is boring heres a little history of the town anchor and mace grew up in

formatted like im writing this at 1:50am because uh . idk why actually i js kidna wanted to

OKAY SO.

Anchor and Mace's hometown, unnamed for now (im working on it), was on the outskirts of the Afterglow Savannah. In present times, though, it is considered as being some kind of 'radioactive' (a magical version of idk) ruins.

Leading up to a certain incident that occured around 6-7 years ago (when anchormace were around 10yo), the atmosphere of the town was concentrated with dangerous levels of excess magical energy in the air. The people of the town were not aware of this fact, however. All they knew, was that the people of their town were a lot more susceptible to diseases, with a high mortality rate. Overall, people that lived in the town their whole lives had a pretty low live expectancy, compared to the rest of the land.

Some of the victims of these diseases, were Mace's parents. The town's people already treated Mace as an outcast, but after his parents died, it only got worse. One day, after a particularly bad fight with another kid, he developed his unique magic, which he constantly used to threaten and scare other kids off.

Eventually, this constant use of magic, his overwhelming emotions, mixed with the magic energy flowing around them in the air, Mace overblotted. It was highly destructive, and the small town was destroyed beyond repair.

In the end, S.T.Y.X. took Mace, and Anchor and his family moved into another town closer to the capital, and they never heard anything from each other ever again.

Until the entrance ceremony.

to distract myself from sobbing over mace and his stupid little doomed self (/hj)

i need to talk about xiphos. specifically, his interesting relationship with malleus. i say this because its not really a friendship but its not really not a friendship either.

this happened because xiphos joined the gargoyle research club at the start of his first year, the start of malleus's second.

during their club meetings, malleus invites xiphos around the nrc grounds, and just yaps about gargoyles to him, among other activities. xiphos doesnt really say anything ever, he just appreciates the opportunity to see old architecture around.

malleus takes his listening in silence as a sort of companionship, and he thinks of xiphos as a good friend, even though they dont actually talk often at all, aside from malleus talking at him during club meetings

xiphos on the other hand doesnt really consider them friends, just moreso of an accquaintence that happens to share a club with him, and a person who has similar interests and allows him the opportunity to do what they do. he views malleus's rambling as nothing more than background noise to their explorations, but does actually take them in

he does find himself sharing the knowledge he learns about gargoyles and other niche things with others without realising he got it from malleus sometimes tho

they do do other stuff too, like malleus's like idk repairing of gargoyles and stuff like that in the club room. xiphos normally just sits and reads through ancient texts and stuff silently, occasionally asking for malleus's input on certain things, and malleus in turn asking for xiphos' opinion on his architecture whatever the hell he does idk

i imagine lilia finds all this quite funny or something

thats all im like so tired this makes absolutely no sense and its too late to go researching what mal actually does in club in detail so u get this instead enjoy or dont :)

Probably his fists honestly I mean, this guy is constantly between "I'm too tired for this shit" and "FUCK YOU LETS FIGHT" and most of those uh involved his (very bruised) knuckles

Ok but he were to use an ACTUAL weapon I think he'd probably gravitate towards some of those like knuckle brace/guard thingies? I don't know what they're called and I'm too lazy to check, but just something to guard his knuckles and pack a bit more of a punch to them, since I don't really think he'd ever not use his fists to fight people. He just that kinda guy u kno :3

12. Is your OC self-destructive? In what ways? Ooh see okay this is a rough oneeeee

Aros definitely isn't self-destructive in the physical sense, since his appearance is very important to him as a prominent figure in the acting and modelling words, however mentally is a completely different story.

I feel like he's the kind of self destructive where like he knows he needs to be in top shape, he needs to eat well, to sleep well, be in the best mental state etc, in order to perform well, to please his parents. but subconsciously, he doesn't really take as good care of himself as he could, as he should, because he believes that he deserves it, that he deserves to have to work harder to do the things he needs to do, deserves to be hindered.

But the thing is, if he performs worse, Crimson is the one that usually gets the brunt of his parents negative moods as a result of their dissapointment in Aros. and so, he blames himself for making Crimson's situation worse, when he's already so unhappy, but he just cant help it, he can't help slipping like he does. He beats himself up for not being good enough to power through what he puts himself through, and the cycle continues :(

He knows that Crimson will always long for something more than him, and more than anything Aros wants that for him. Crimson saved him, made his childhood and teen years infinitely more tolerable, and longs to repay that in any way he can, and he feels so helpless that he just cant. He doesn't understand yet that that he had already saved Crimson, more than he could ever imagine, just as Crimson had saved him, and that Crimson doesn't expect anything more from him at all, is happier where he is now, even if he's not truly happy (yet).

24. What is an alternative life path your OC might have gone down? How different would their life be if they'd made those decisions?

Thinking about the wording of the second question there is making me think of a universe where Anchor was even just a little bit more assertive of his freedom, where he'd try harder to get his parents to see that what they were doing wasn't right for him. He would have healed much sooner, instead of being left to wallow in his grief and trauma, reinforce all these negative thoughts about himself, about everything. He'd be able to find his real hobbies, what he really likes, instead of being affected so terribly by that day, and being so fixated on protecting.

He'd work through his anxieties in enclosed spaces, be able to sit in a room without feeling suffocated, he wouldn't feel so tired, yet so, so afraid of falling asleep, of reliving the memories of that night over and over again.

I think though that his overall personality would stay decently similar, other than definitely being more sunny and sweet n stuff :3

(anyway im done rambling abt the silly dude i love him so much and i would do anything for him to be happy (i say as i purposefully develop his and mace's current relationship for the worse (atm)).....

did u know (well ik u don't but anyway) that I've drawn Casimir and Yuna like multiple times but I haven't posted them 😇😇

I've doodled Casimir a couple times in my sketchbook and then I'm maybe 50% sure (I rly don't remember😭😭) I have a drawing of Casimir in Ibispaint that I either didn't finish or thought it was too bad to post LOL

And then I distinctly remember drawing Yuna but I never finished it LMAOO 💔💔💔

Anyway some actual brain thoughts now I love like thinking abt little side aus off of this main one like I love thinking abt stuff that's definitely not canon to my universe but it's my universe so I can just make it canon to some universe out there

Like a branch off au I think about a lot is if Kiyuu's like desire for normalcy and peace was a lot more dictating of her decisions than in main, so it results in the heartbreaking conclusion of her wanting to go back to their world once a way is found, and ending up choosing to go, leaving Yuuto behind in TW 💔💔

Because I know like realistically in this canon they get their happy ending (ish), they stay together and get to live happily (ish) in TW (after LOTS of trauma and struggle etc yk twst typical + sum), but I like thinking abt if that wasn't the case :3

Alot of the other ones tho involve my other OC's so I shan't ramble abt them 🙏

ok so backstepping a bit for context

Crimson and Aros are 2nd years, right? And so, they share a room with 1 other person, in their respective dorms. Now, here's the thing. These little bitches are fucking attatched at the hip, it's rare to like see them apart unless they've specifically planned (e.g. like when Aros was trying out makeup on Kiyuu, though actually most of the time in that kind of senario Crimson would have been around anyway LOL). Since they don't share a room (obviously, they're in whole different dorms), most of the time they spend hanging around in Aros' room, even going as far as to sleep over there more often than not.

But now, you may ask, 'but what about Aros' roommates? Don't they have a thing or two to say about this?'

THIS IS WHERE THE BRAIN WORMS COME IN.

Not only are Crimson and Aros one fruity ahh couple, SO ARE THEIR ROOMMATES. Basically what ends up happening, is Aros' roomate and Crimson basically just end up swapping places like ALL THE TIME. Crimson practically lives in Aros' dorm, and Aro's roommate practically lives in Crimson's. They have like a mutual agreement, an unspoken contract all about this weird ass arrangement.

Crimson and Aros' roommates aren't AS fruity as Crimson and Aros of course (these bitches are co-dependant as hell /hj) (their roomates are like just like a perfectly healthy gay couple compared honestly... well as healthy as u can get at NRC anyway), meaning they don't really feel the need to like sleep over and be clingy like every night with each other like Crimson and Aros do, but they don't really complain because a) it's just more of an excuse for them to hang out more anyway, and b) hello it's THE Crimson and Aros??? who are they to refuse???

Over the course of whatever the hell this is, they've actually gotten pretty close and they're all friends, so there's like not really much awkwardness or anything anymore. At this point like Crimson stores a lot of his stuff in Aros' room and vise versa with Aros' roommate too.

They also gossip together at least weekly. Gay activities smh.

10 - What is their main character arc in the story? Where do they start and how do they develop? Do they get a happy ending or is their story a tragic one?

Mace's main arc I think would definitely revolve around a few things. the 1st being, of course, the development of him and Anchor's... complicated relationship. A constant for them, like in this blogs canon anyway, is that they sort of just... pretend what happened didn't happen. Anchor is so deeply afraid of pushing Mace away, and so, they don't talk about their past, and what happened to them. Anchor tells himself he'll wait until Mace is ready, no matter how long it takes. No matter how strained their relationship becomes.

His arc would probably revolve around a setting/scenario where in one way or another, for one reason or another, they're finally forced to talk about everything to each other. Properly communicate. Maybe they have a fight about it, maybe something happens in which things are revealed to Anchor out of Mace's control. Shrug.

The 2nd though, is definitely something related to his... very less than healthy habits. Namely, his obsession with dedication to blot research, among other things ofc. Ah, now that I'm thinking about it actually this would be a really good plot point for a reveal, so it all works out. I can see it lmao, Mace so caught up in research and research and research, feeling every second like he's on the cusp of something big, so desperate to find a way, any way to stop anyone else from experiencing anything like what they'd gone through. What he'd gone through. Learn everything about overblot he possibly can. And in doing this, he neglects everything else when in a particular slump of negative emotions. Anchor worries about him, and decides to visit, causing them to have a confrontation when Mace is like, at his WORST. I could make it so angsty shove every Bad Time (tm) on this guy yk. Heh.

Oops I think I yapped too close to the sun chat. Anyway. Uh. The rest of the question. Aha. I'd imagine through experiencing... whatever the hell ends up happening in his arc, he'd learn how to face his past, and more importantly, learn to accept himself for who he is, in an ideal world.

Yes, he gets a happy ending, at the end of a veeeeeery long road. Maybe not, the happiest ending, but he ends up happier, I'd like to think. And I think that's what matters. I like to believe that in the end, all of my (twst) ocs are deservant of happy endings, no matter how much angst they go through. :)

I'm sure there's some alternative universe out there (cough, in my head, cough) where he gets some very angsty endings, though. Winky face. ;)

19 - What is your general favourite thing about the character? What is your least favourite?

I adore his complex, as bad as it sounds LMAO. just the depth of him being so convinced that hes completely irredeemable and his absolutely inability to move on from singular events that have happened in the past, letting them consume him and dictate basically his entire way of life, how he lives, despite deep down, yearning for that normality he misses so bad it hurts.

It's so interesting to me (i say as if i didnt make him bro) that despite all of this, his behaviour towards the majority of others doesn't really show it for the most part at all. He continues to be his insane self, threaten people hurt people for fun etc etc, continue to do all of these things, continues to enjoy it. It's so engrained in him it's become a survival instinct. And really, it is. It's all he knows now. AUGH HES SO. FUCK I LOVE HIMMMM.

oh i could yap about all of this for AGES i have so much more i keep thinking about writing but holding myself back LMAO.

I talk about Mace refusing to linger on his past um a lot. At least in my head. But GOD IT IS SO ANNOYING FOR THIS ACCOUNT LMFAOOOO like bro will never ever trauma dump unless he gets MAJOR CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT. like sue me for wanting my most traumatised character to get a trauma dump moment jesus christ you little stubborn fuck.

✨listening to some videogame OSTs while I flesh out my OC playlists, which obviously includes the Persona OSTs. And aside from me making the very obvious chapter 7 joke by putting it in the context of persona 4, I was thinking Abt how different songs from the different OSTs are kinda fitting for different OCs of mine. And then NOW I'm thinking about what arcana everyone would be in a persona game. So here's that list. Because I'm already utterly insane. it's not lore or anything, though, more just me musing about characters, sort of.

🦐Yuna: an obvious pick for Yuna would be the Fool. I mean, she is my version of Yuu, after all, which means that the Fool Arcana would be a really fitting pick for her. Bonus bc she kinda gets epic awesome personas of her choice if that's the case. If I WASN'T going based off of her mc vibes, though, I'd probably give her something like the Hanged Man or Moon Arcana, just because of the way she is as a person (and the card meanings/affiliations both in and out of universe).

🎩Lewis: after doing some thinking, I think the Hermit Arcana would be a pretty good pick for Lewis. He is a hermit, in some ways, in that he prefers to keep his popular persona (pun not intended), Chamomile, a secret from everyone around him. When he's not in his studio, he's idling with the board game club or hiding away from crowds, people watching. That, or he's used his UM to catch a moment of solace before returning to his daily life. He'd definitely also fall into more of a support role anyways, not particularly liking being in the central spotlight (most of the time, anyways).

♌Izem: what better pick for the strong, big brotherly character of Izem than the strong and noble Emperor Arcana? I think he'd vibe with two of the canon Emperors (moreso Kanji, but he'd probably fw Yusuke too), but also I think it fits with how I currently envision him as a character. He's strong, and pretty intelligent, but does have a tendency to focus on the finer details and not on the bigger picture, which can be a problem for him.

🦜Rusul: I still don't have a great grasp on how I want Rusul to be yet, but I think that the Chariot Arcana would be a good fit for him. He's a pretty peppy and athletic kinda guy, but can be stubborn and headstrong if he gets it in his head that it'd be to his benefit.

🐁: I. Genuinely don't know where I was gonna go with James at first, but similar to Lewis and Casimir, I kinda scrolled thru some diff arcana on the wiki and came to the conclusion that the Devil Arcana would be quite fitting for him. He's super proud and conceited, sure, but he's a very determined and diligent guy who ultimately just wants to clear his family's name/reputation and/or dazzle the masses and inspire others. Idk. He's a silly guy.

🌙: Lowkey was struggling a bit with an arcana for Casimir until I randomly decided to click on the Fortune Arcana link on the persona wiki. And the description for Fortune characters is kinda totes fitting for him. I mean seriously.

Casimir is a really talented musician but is. Definitely hindered by pressure from his father, but also from his peers (though that's more of a social pressure to act "normal", whatever that means).

🩺: I think choosing the Hierophant would be a total cop out for Heinrich but also it's. Very fitting at the same time. Dude is very much a protective guardian figure over the students of NRC and is more than willing to provide helpful guidance, even if it seems odd or out of place.

He teased lightly, laughing softly, his eyes creasing at the corners as he grinned.

"Soo... does one of these 'endeavors' include goin' back ta wherever we left off on VOCALOID-? Oor- do ya got somethin' else in mind ta do now? I don't mind!"

He asked, briefly glancing towards Casimir's device, then back to him.

"Heh, 'nd don't worry 'bout that. Trust me- I definitely wouldn't be goin' along if I didn't wanna. 'Sides, it seems fun!"

For the second afternoon in a row that week, Mace found himself walking down the same corridor of the Diasomnia dorms. He would have come by sooner, having finished downloading all of the stuff onto the drive way earlier, but he got a bit distracted doing... a few different things. He hoped Casimir didn't mind the wait too much. It would be a shame if he did.

Approaching Casimir's door, he knocked the same way he did last time, before stepping back.

"Yello~! Guess who it is~!"

He called out, combing his fingers through his hair to neaten it up a bit while he waited for the door to open. Not that he was trying to make it look extra neat. But more... trying to make it seem like he didn't just crawl out of bed a few hours ago, just to only make it in time to attend the last class of the day. Because he definitely didn't. Definitely.

He rushed out, scrambling to pull out a little notepad and a cheap looking pen from his blazer pocket, and hastily flipping toward a blank page about mid way through, where he quickly scribbled down what seemed to be a couple of sentences worth in barely legible writing, before flipping it closed again, and taking a small breath.

"Ah- sorry- that phrase ya said- it just gave me an idea for a startin' point for a further area of research that might be useful to conduct when I get back to my dorm, I dunno how I hadn't though of it in that direction before-!"

He backtracked, a little apologetically. He wasn't used to caring much about what other people thought of him, but he liked Casimir's company. He didn't want to make a bad impression, especially in a domestic and casual setting like this. No way.

"That's- nice of ya to say though- thanks. Kehehe, I reckon the both of us'll make a pretty good team then! Surely with us workin' together, a tale greater than that of the Great Seven might just be possible. I believe in ya skillset, and no doubt we'll only improve as time goes on, hm?"

He continued, with more conviction. Having a friend and an ally like Casimir... Ahaha... What had he done lately to get lucky like this?
