The Locked Room
a Bendy x Cappuchino story
A month before their first anniversary, Cappuchino found herself at Bendy's apartment, curling up on the couch after a movie night. She excused herself for a moment, heading toward Bendy's room. Something about her last visit tugged at her memory—she was sure she had left something behind. Just as her hand touched the doorknob, Bendy appeared behind her with a nervous smile.
"Wait!" he said a little too quickly, sliding between her and the door. "I got it. Just… stay here."
Cappuchino blinked. “But—”
He opened the door slightly, slipped inside, and emerged seconds later with her lipstick tube. He gave it to her with a sheepish grin, locking the door behind him without a word.
That moment festered in her mind. Why was he suddenly locking her out of a space he used to welcome her into freely? Had she said something wrong? Was he hiding something?
The days ticked by. As their anniversary neared, Cappuchino’s anxiety grew. Bendy had barely texted her that week. No teasing emojis. No morning greetings. No dramatic "I miss you more than sleep" messages. The silence made her chest ache.
Then, finally, on the night of their anniversary, her phone buzzed:
Bee🖤: "Can you come over?"
Her heart pounded. She grabbed the gift she had chosen for him—a sleek, elegant suit she had saved up for—and hurried out the door, cheeks warm with nerves. Was this the beginning of the end?
When she arrived at Bendy’s place, she stood frozen in the hallway, debating whether to knock or turn around. But before she could decide, the door swung open.
There he was—Bendy. His usual mischievous smile was stretched ear to ear. Without a word, he grabbed her hand and pulled her gently into his once-locked room.
Her breath caught.
There, hanging on a mannequin, was a masterpiece.
A strapless, deep wine-red dress with black undertones hugged the mannequin’s curves. The fabric shimmered subtly under the soft lights, the bodice ruched in just the right places, hugging tight at the waist and hips before flowing into a layered, asymmetrical skirt. One side had a high slit, bold and elegant, revealing a peek of thigh. Light black mesh added texture to the hem, moving like a shadow in motion.
And then, Cappuchino realized—it wasn’t just a dress.
It was her dress.
He had made it himself.
“I saw how you kept staring at dresses when we were out,” Bendy admitted, scratching the back of his head. “You didn’t think I noticed, but I did. You always stopped at shop windows, or paused when scrolling on your phone. I couldn’t afford any of those dresses, so I tried to make one instead. I wanted it to be perfect.”
Tears welled up in Cappuchino’s eyes. She turned toward him and broke—laughing and crying all at once. “You idiot—this is perfect! I thought… I thought you were pulling away from me.”
She kissed him—soft, then hard—peppering his inky cheeks with affection until he laughed under the pressure of it.
Then, she reached into her bag and handed him his gift: the suit.
Bendy’s eyes widened as he pulled it out. A rich maroon shirt, smooth and deep in color, paired with a black vest and intricately patterned jacket with satin lapels. Even the pocket square matched, precise and tailored.
He looked stunned.
They helped each other change.
Cappuchino stood in front of the mirror, and Bendy came up behind her, holding the dress carefully like it was made of smoke and diamonds. She stepped into it slowly. The fabric whispered against her skin, cool and delicate. Bendy guided it up her body, careful not to smudge her makeup or dislodge a single strand of her perfectly styled hair.
The bodice hugged her torso like it was made for her—and it was. The ruched folds framed her bust and waist elegantly, drawing the eye with subtle drama. Bendy zipped it up with reverence, brushing aside her hair, his fingers barely grazing her back. The slit of the dress revealed the sculpted length of her thigh as she shifted slightly, the mesh hem brushing her calves with every step.
Cappuchino’s silhouette in the mirror was nothing short of breathtaking.
The dress clung in all the right places, embracing her curves and accentuating the natural flow of her body—her hips, her shoulders, her neckline. She added a soft dusting of golden highlighter to her collarbones, and the warm light caught on her skin like sunlight on velvet. Her lips, painted in a deep cherry red, matched the tone of the dress, and her eyes—rimmed in a smoky shadow—glowed with fierce confidence. A simple silver necklace settled just above her heart.
Her heels clicked softly against the floor, black and sharp, echoing the darker tones of the dress’s shadows.
Bendy, now dressed in his tailored suit, paused. His jaw slackened slightly.
“You look like… art,” he said.
Cappuchino smirked but couldn’t stop the flush that rose to her cheeks. She leaned in, brushing imaginary lint from his lapel. “And you look like a magician who stole a suit from a royal wedding.”
“Then let’s be magic together,” he said.
They stepped out into the night hand in hand, dressed like a couple from a dream.
A cab pulled up to the curb just as Bendy texted a confirmation. Cappuchino leaned into him as he opened the door. “Where are we going?”
“You’ll see,” he grinned.
The ride was quiet but full of silent glances and hidden smiles. Bendy held her hand, thumb brushing hers. Her heart fluttered as she watched the city lights reflect in the mesh folds of her dress like stars tangled in silk.
When they arrived, she gasped.
The restaurant, Verità, glowed with golden light and soft jazz. Ivy climbed the brick walls, lanterns hanging gently along the entryway.
“I’ve been saving for this since before our third date,” Bendy whispered.
Inside, Cappuchino turned heads the moment she walked in.
The wine-red dress kissed her skin like a second soul. The slit offered just enough allure without ever stepping away from elegance. Her presence shimmered with quiet power, every detail curated yet effortless—like the world had paused to admire her.
But she didn’t notice the stares. She only saw the table Bendy had reserved near the window, where the skyline blinked like candles in the distance.
They sat. Ordered. Laughed.
They shared a bottle of sparkling apple cider, toasted to a year full of chaos and beauty, and split an absurdly fancy truffle pasta.
“This was your plan all along, huh?” she teased. “Distract me with fashion and food so I forget the drama.”
“Worked, didn’t it?”
She rolled her eyes. “You’re lucky you’re hot and sweet.”
They didn’t want dessert, but the restaurant brought one anyway—a tiny chocolate cake with one candle and “Happy 1st” written in icing.
“I love you,” Bendy said softly.
Cappuchino wiped her eyes, smudging lipstick on the rim of her glass. “I know. I love you too, ink boy.”
And as the candle flickered between them, they leaned in and kissed—two hearts wrapped in fabric, flame, and the kind of love that doesn’t need perfection to be unforgettable.

Do you have any references/more in-depth descriptions of what Keith and lance’s outfits look like for fanart reasons?
yo thanks for the awesome question! it took a bit to put this together.
i gathered a few references off the internet for ya.
Keith starts off wearing a fancy reddish brown wool overcoat (gifted by dad) over a canvas jacket (rust red) lined with red plaid flannel (his own pick) over a red long sleeve and a white undershirt. images for reference, colors not accurate. 👇

his pants are those hiking zip away kind, black. 👇

he's also wearing a side/thigh pouch (black). 👇

he's also got black hiking boots with an attached sheath (sheath would be slightly larger than picture). 👇

Keith's got a beard and a good amount of hair at the moment. i'd say about a bit longer than shoulder-length, but it's unkempt and he looks about as groomed as a lion. (he wasn't expecting company.) i would say he's about early thirties in age since he ages slower (post canon Keith, technically).
currently, Lance has combed Keith's hair out and he gave him a french braid with smaller braids snuck in there for funsies, and he used a strip of his romper to tie it off.
Lance is more difficult to describe. i came up with his outfit entirely using my imagination instead of using any references.
it's basically a long-sleeved and wide pant romper with ties all along the arms, a boat neckline, and multiple sheer layers in petal-like shape all along the material. iirc, i didn't give it a specific color in the story, but i imagined it at the start as a silver or forest green gradient, maybe even multicolored. have fun with it, it's nbd. and it shimmers as the light hits it, like water.

shoes are the same deal, but easier to describe. they're basically fancy, pretty ballet flats in blue. beaded with crystals and lace. some pics of the kind i mean. 👇

bird woman's boots, but black and shorter.👇

i didn't give Lance any jewelry (but earrings are fair game) and he's definitely NOT wearing any kind of coronet since he's supposed to be incognito.
the white security uniform is basically an asymmetrical zip-up blazer with a mandarin collar and straight leg pants, all white with no discernible markings except "security" depicted on the back and on the breast in altean.
the parka from the emergency pods is basically a white puffy jacket with with synthetic fur for the hood. (this bit isn't mentioned in the fic because it's useless on Planet Red, but if electronics worked, Lance would have been able to change the color of the parka. it's got a scanner to camouflage it to hide better in its surroundings, or conversely, make it super visible.)

at this point in the story (chapter 13), Keith is down to his undershirt and shorts. Lance, on the other hand, has cut the romper he's wearing into shorts. it's likely uneven because he used Keith's luxite blade for it.
Keith's pack. 👇

Lance's backpack, also white. 👇

if i missed anything or you'd like more info, feel free to shoot me another ask.

NOZOMI ISHIGURO Haute Couture
Aw11
"Mixing fabrics with contrasting textures like nylon and fake fur to create looks with lots of impact here. From dressy items such as a tired dress made from lace and a knit number decorated with asymmetrical fringes to sporty styles like biker jackets and zip-up blousons, a series of highly original designs were presented. While projecting kitsch image, the collection was rendered in warm handmade-feel." -gap PRESS

PHOTOSHOOT: ZOO MAGAZINE
For today's fashion editorial, we're going to take a deeper look at Marina's photoshoot for Zoo Magazine's 28th edition released in late 2010.
The photoshoot was lensed by Roger Rich. Styling by Jason Leung, hair by Paul Percival and makeup by Ashley Ward, respectively.

For the first photo, Marina is wearing this interesting David Koma Fall/Winter 2010 piece.
This jacket is a bold, avant-garde design featuring striking zipper embellishments. The zippers are creatively shaped into spiraled, sculptural forms that line the shoulders and upper arms, creating a sharp, architectural silhouette.
To add a more sporty feel to her ensemble, Marina layered her jacket with this grey zip hooded jacket from Reebok‘s "EA7" capsule collection made in collaboration with Armani!

Next up, M is seen posing in the asymmetrical draped jersey dress with leopard print from Lanvin's Pre-Fall 2010 lookbook which you should definitely check out.

A perfect nod to her Greek roots, Marina wore the Reebok Fall/Winter 2010 Freestyle Hi goddess Athena-themed sneakers inspired by ancient Greek mythology. Mostly synonymous with her shield and helmet, its fitting to see the colorway use a bronzy armor look, with an actual shield graphic on the heel.

Marina looks amazing in a gold sequined version of this Balmain square shoulder military jacket, a G-Star graphic tee and some Reebok sneakers in white leather.

In one of the many stunning shots, Marina is photographed lounging in this Prada Fall/Winter 2010 dress. This piece is made of ciré, a plastic and technical jersey with black and baby-blue guipure flower frill embroidery.

Here, Marina Diamandis is wearing the chain-embellished "Status Symbol" white cotton tee from Moschino's Pre-Fall 2010 collection.

The super whimsical TV sunglasses with 3D antennas are vintage Oliver Goldsmith!

For the last look of this editorial, Marina looks trés chic in look no. 5 from Proenza Schouler's Fall/Winter 2010 runway⸺sleeveless white cotton poplin blouse and micro plissé skirt in black wool.
Last but definitely not least, the Greek-Welsh singer accessorized her look with this Atsuko Kudo couture black latex tie (£53.33).

oops forgot about him just like his dad forgot about his other kids
I was kinda busy drawing lesbians(well, sapphics, not lesbians) and realizing the wonder that is traditional art after not having drawn with pencil and paper for so long, and I had started on him before I even started posting these, so I didn’t have to do much work and therefore forgot. Either way, enough rambling, here’s Dual Element Hero: Shoto
I was going to change his name, but while searching for potential names, someone said that ‘Shoto’ is sort of representative of the fact that especially in the earlier seasons, his whole thing is that he wants to be his own person
as well, a hero name would have been something like ‘frostfire’, which kind of reduced him to his quirk, and uh, now remembering that he was conceived solely for his quirk, seemed like it maybe wasn’t a good idea
now onto the actual design
middle part
he’s described a lot as a ‘pretty boy’, so I decided to go with a k-pop idol vibe for his hair.
slightly more ‘drippy’ scar
i mean the water wouldn’t just have stayed in one place right?
I originally considered going all in on the asymmetric vibe and had it with one long sleeve and one sleeveless but it looked a lil wonky and I don’t think he would really go for that
so instead I made the accents warmer/cooler
his cold side has grey accents on the collar and wrist while his hot(not like that you fucking simps) side has gray accents
yes grey is cool toned and gray is warm toned fight me
that vest was bulky as hell so the suit has heating/cooling technology implanted in the fabric
manual control panels on either side of his pants and jacket
same usual shoulder/elbow/knee pads
same gauntlets as canon but w/ out the weird brick red ish color
please forgive me I claim to be an artist yet cannot identify a simple color
little things on his shoulders that function the same as the gauntlets, except they have no purpose, they just release flames and freezing air bc it looks cool
his managing team definitely had that added for popularity
got rid of the bulky ass belt for a more simple utility belt(? idk what it is)
added leg pouch(?) for additional storage
boots are the same functionally as canon, but they also make it easier to burn footholds into surfaces
COLD WEATHER VERSION:
darker material
thicker material
lined boots
taller collar
meant to give him full gloves so just… imagine
WARM WEATHER VERSION:
sleeveless tank
can it be called a tank
ig it’s more like a vest bc it’s a zip up and not a shirt
white gloves
yeah
sorry for running my mouth lol
as always, tips and advice are appreciated!
#shoto todoroki#shouto todoroki#todoroki shouto#todoroki shoto#bro why did the ‘todoroki shoto smut’ tag pop up before the ‘todoroki shoto’ tag#bunch of fucking creepers#mha#bnha#bnha redesign#mha redesign#mha redesigns#bnha redesigns#mha fanart#bnha fanart#mha todoroki#do you like the font I stole it from a photograph for a font preview#in my defense#i wasn’t going to pay 40USD for a font I would use one(1) time

The Timeless Allure of Leather Jackets: A Wardrobe Essential
Leather jackets have long been revered as one of the most iconic and versatile pieces of outerwear. From their historical roots in aviation and military use to their strong association with rebellion and rock 'n' roll, leather jackets continue to command attention and admiration. But beyond their rich history, leather jackets have evolved into a timeless wardrobe staple that combines both style and practicality.
A Symbol of Enduring Style
What makes leather jackets stand out? It’s more than just their rugged appeal. The natural suppleness and durability of leather, paired with a tailored fit, have made these jackets a symbol of strength, sophistication, and edginess. Whether you’re wearing a sleek biker jacket, a classic bomber, or a modern trench, the leather jacket exudes an air of confidence that few other pieces of clothing can match.
Leather's ability to age gracefully and develop a unique patina over time is one of the reasons why this piece remains so beloved. Each jacket tells a story, and as it molds to your body, it becomes even more personal and distinctive. Over the years, the leather softens, deepening in color and gaining a texture that's unmistakably yours.
The Versatility of Leather Jackets
While the leather jacket is often associated with tough and rebellious figures—think James Dean or Marlon Brando—it’s incredibly versatile. It can be dressed up or down, making it suitable for various occasions. Pair a sleek black leather jacket with a crisp white shirt and tailored pants for a look that’s polished yet edgy. On the flip side, throw on a casual hoodie underneath a distressed brown leather jacket, and you're effortlessly embracing a laid-back style.
The flexibility of leather jackets also lies in their ability to transition through seasons. During the cooler months, they serve as a protective shield against the wind and cold, while in milder temperatures, they can add a layer of warmth without the bulk of heavier outerwear.
Types of Leather Jackets: A Style for Every Taste
There’s a leather jacket out there for everyone, with various styles to choose from. Here’s a breakdown of some popular types:
The Biker Jacket With its asymmetric zip, bold hardware, and often belted design, the biker jacket is synonymous with cool. Originally designed for motorcycle riders, this style has transcended its practical roots and become a staple in fashion.
The Bomber Jacket Inspired by military pilots' flight jackets, the bomber jacket features a snug fit, ribbed cuffs, and a collar that can be worn up or down. Its casual yet functional design makes it a popular choice for both men and women.
The Blazer Jacket For those who appreciate a more refined look, the leather blazer offers a structured silhouette that's perfect for professional or semi-formal occasions. It can elevate a simple outfit, making it sleek without sacrificing comfort.
The Trench Jacket Long and sleek, the leather trench jacket brings a cinematic element to your wardrobe. Think of it as a fusion between fashion-forward style and practical outerwear—perfect for cooler weather and evening outings.
Caring for Your Leather Jacket
Leather, as durable as it is, still requires proper care to ensure it lasts for years to come. Regular maintenance, such as cleaning and conditioning, helps preserve its appearance and texture. Additionally, storing your leather jacket properly, in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, can prevent cracks and fading.
If you find yourself caught in the rain, it's best to dry your jacket naturally—never use heat sources like a hairdryer, as this can damage the leather. For stains or scuffs, gently clean the affected area with a damp cloth or a special leather cleaning product.
Why Invest in a Leather Jacket?
A high-quality leather jacket is more than just a fashion investment; it's a statement. It’s a piece that can stand the test of time, both in durability and in style. Whether you're looking to make a bold statement, add an element of sophistication to your wardrobe, or simply seek an outerwear option that will age as beautifully as you do, a leather jacket remains the perfect choice.
Conclusion
The leather jacket isn't just a piece of clothing; it’s a reflection of character, resilience, and timeless style. From its rugged origins to its place in modern fashion, the leather jacket has managed to adapt, evolve, and remain relevant in a world of ever-changing trends. So, if you don’t already own one, it might just be time to invest in a piece of fashion history that will elevate your wardrobe for years to come.

The Rescue Gambit (1/5) Meet the Team
(When Gambit's solo mission goes terribly wrong and the rest of the X-men aren't available to bail him out, Shadow turns to some old friends to mount a rescue mission. Shenanigans ensue.)
(Welcome to this monster of a fic, the longest I have ever written in my life (14K in total, give or take). Thankfully for you, dear reader, this is split into parts! Who knew writing a silly little rescue fic with my friends' characters would turn into this. Regardless, enjoy!)
Shadow strode down the street, weaving past people with single-minded determination. Her destination was a small, non-descript cafe on the corner of a city street, and she pushed her way inside.
The cafe’s atmosphere reflected the more relaxed area of the city; only a couple of patrons taking up the wooden tables and chairs as they sipped their beverages, and the person behind the counter only barely glanced up at the new arrival into their establishment.
Shadow’s eyes wandered over the room until she spotted a group of men and a woman gathered around one of the larger tables by the window, three of the gents on the hard chairs and the woman and other man in the plush cushioned seats backing up against the glass, supplying most of the noise with their chatter.
She grinned broadly, and headed towards them.
One of the men saw her first, large and bald with a neatly braided brown beard, and he threw his arms wide, beaming widely.
“Shadow!” He cried in his rich Geordie accent, and the others’ heads immediately whipped around to see her approaching.
A chorus of greetings went up as they rose out of their chairs and stumbled out from behind the table towards her, taking it in turns to wrap her up in a hug.
The first was Ber, a large Polish man whose true name was beyond the English speakers' ability to pronounce, as much as they tried. He shared a similar build to the man who had spotted her; a large, five foot nine man with soft features and body, bald except for his neatly trimmed dark brown beard and icy blue-grey eyes. He was clad in a light brown jacket over a pink top with the picture of a grinning, winking demon over the text of ‘SMILE MORE!’, soft grey tracksuit bottoms and well-worn green trekking boots. He hugged her close and yet with an endless gentleness that befitted the animal his name was related to.
Myst was second, a more wiry fellow of five foot six, with short brunette hair that was also trimmed short in a beard and moustache and darker brown eyes. A dark shirt and jeans, a shield with a grey-ish purple skull and crossbones printed on the former, with a teal zip jacket overtop was his clothing ensemble, and he gave Shadow a cheeky grin, eyes darting to the side just to check no-one had followed her.
Lemming, the man who had seen her first, gleefully swept her up into his embrace almost as soon as Myst had stepped away. His hazel brown eyes, sequestered behind his rectangular glasses, sparked with excitement, his grin wide and crooked, wearing a black shirt proudly displaying the logo of a local metal band. This was overtop of black cargo pants and equally dark coloured trainers. He was the tallest of the group, at five foot eleven.
Drifting came next, smiling serenely as she stepped up to the smaller woman. She, like all the others, stood taller than Shadow at five foot seven, with bright green eyes and gorgeous long wine-red hair, wearing an asymmetrical halter top of white and green on top of black jeans. There was a brief hesitation before she embraced Shadow too, which Shadow warmly returned.
And then last, but certainly not least, came Shadow’s adoptive brother and the only one of the group she could look directly in the eyes: Ebak. He strolled up to her casually, his cheeky, knowing smile on his face, reflected in eyes so dark brown many mistook them for black. His long curly ginger hair was tied back in a ponytail, a scruffy stubble over his cheeks and chin whilst a childhood scar slashed through his thick right eyebrow. He wore a button-up green and grey varsity-like hoodie over a black shirt displaying the red targeting computer from the first Star Wars movie, along with blue jeans. The short, stocky man opened his arms widely, gathering his sister up in a tight embrace.
“It’s good to see you again.” Ebak spoke as he pulled away, his accent rich and soft around the words.
“We’ve missed you!” Ber added from close by.
“I’ve missed you all too.” Shadow smiled, her heart feeling so swollen it threatened to burst out of her chest. She took a breath to hold back the tears threatening to well up in her eyes. “I’m sorry I’ve not managed to see you guys again before today. Things have been…complicated.”
“So I hear.” Lemming replied, leaning back in his seat.
“Yeah, I was wondering what happened to you after you suddenly stopped turning up at the hospital.” Drifting commented, as the rest all took their chairs again. Shadow slipped into the empty spot in the window beside her and Lemming, sighing.
“It’s a long story.” Shadow admitted. “But the short version is someone got me suspended on the 'suspicion’ of being a mutant - a suspension that’s still in place, by the way - and then I went and got myself involved in a fight between a Friends of Humanity weirdo and the X-Men. The latter of which took me in to their place to keep me safe from retaliation, which is why I haven’t exactly been present until now.”
“Wait, hold up.” Myst held his hands up. You’ve been living with the X-Men this whole time?!”
“Technically still am.” Shadow added.
“What?!” Multiple people exclaimed, except for Ebak, who just listened calmly. Myst turned to him, narrowing his eyes.
“You knew already, didn’t you?”
Ebak shrugged nonchalantly.
“She called me a couple of days back to tell me what was happening. Which was good, because I was juust about to go and have a look around the place myself.” He eyed Shadow, arching his scarred eyebrow.
“Which was what I was afraid of.” She replied, folding her arms. “The last thing I want is my brother coming face to face with Wolverine and having to work out how to un-fillet him. As you can imagine, I've not really had the experience re-attaching limbs!" Ebak waved his hand dismissively.
“I’m glad they’ve been keeping you safe.” Ber said, his voice gentle and reaching across the table towards her. “I was worried about you.”
“I know.” Shadow smiled weakly, squeezing his hand. “I’m sorry I’ve been so quiet about it. We’re pretty sure any time those thugs would kick off is long past, though.”
“Let’s hope so.” Drifting commented. “But, correct me if I’m wrong, but you have a reason for calling us all here, right? I’m pretty sure hanging out with your friends involves less panicked 'hey can you meet at Leon’s as soon as you can, please?’ messages.”
“Maybe Shadow really, really missed our company.” Replied Lemming. Drifting gave him a tired, long-suffering look.
“As much as Shadow likes our company, I don’t think she’s ever been that desperate to see us.” Drifting retorted.
Ebak cleared his throat loudly, silencing any further discussion.
“Shadow?” He asked.
She took a breath, looking between all her friends.
“I need your help with a rescue mission,” she said.
“Rescue mission?” Myst asked, raising an eyebrow.
“Yeah.” Shadow nodded. “Bit of background. This morning, I and another one of the X-Men, Gambit, were out in the city…”
“Gambit, I’m not sure this is a great idea.” Shadow said, glancing around the wall to the small fenced compound beyond. “You’re not exactly geared for infiltration right now.”
The Cajun grinned.
“Don’t worry chère, Gambit not gonna stay for long. Jus’ quick in an’ out, get de lay of de land, swipe some formula, den come right back to you.”
Shadow sighed, exasperated.
“Look, I don’t doubt you’re an excellent thief, but I’ve really got a bad feeling about this. This isn’t just some shady office block downtown. We should at least wait until the others are back.”
“Contact said dey recently got a shipment in.” Gambit replied, his tone now serious. “Dis be the time to swipe it. Waitin’ for backup might give 'em the chance to move it on. Den we might never figure out what it is.”
Shadow swore internally, knowing he was right. And yet…
“Okay. At least let me call for backup if you don’t make it out, alright?”
He looked back at her, searching her face.
“Give me least fifteen minutes, chère,” he said. “If I’m not out by den, call de others.” He grinned widely. “But Gambit will be by ya side soon enough, you’ll see.”
“I sure hope so.” She sighed, reaching out to squeeze his hand. “You take care now, alright?”
“Always, mon amie.” Gambit flashed her a wink. “See ya on de other side.”
And with that, the lithe mutant sprang gracefully up the side of the building, hopping from wall to wall until he disappeared over the lip of the roof.
“Considering we’re here, I’m guessing he…?” Myst trailed off. Shadow sighed, shaking her head.
“I gave him twenty minutes, just in case something came up. But when I returned to our previous look out, I was just in time to see his unconscious body being taken into the main building.” She explained. “As far as I know, he’s still being held in there now.”
A brief silence settled over the friends, all pensive.
It was Drifting who spoke first.
“Pardon me, but you’re with the X-Men, right? The group of mutants who go around saving people and blowing those Sentinels up? Why didn’t you go to them?”
“I would, if they weren’t dealing with some important mission right now.” Shadow explained, running a hand through her hair. “I don’t know if they’d be able to get over here in time before something happened to him. At best they’re just going to move him, at worse…” She shook her head. “I know you guys aren’t the same, and neither am I, but you were the only people I could think of that could get together to help me break him out.”
They looked amongst each other.
“Shadow, you really think we can go up against guys who took down an X-Man?” Lemming asked uncertainly.
“Just because Gambit’s an X-Man doesn’t make him any more a mutant than the rest of us.” She shook her head. “And he wasn’t geared for a mission, just casual clothes. All it would take is for someone to sneak up on him, or to make a mistake, and he’d be captured like anyone else.”
Ebak rubbed his scruffy chin thoughtfully.
“So sneak in, get Gambit, and sneak out again?” He said. Shadow nodded.
“Yes. If we could get a sample of that chemical formula those guys seem to be moving around, that would be ideal, but the main thing is to get Gambit out of there before anything happens to him.”
“That’s easy for you.” Myst folded his arms, eyeing the smaller man. “You can just blink in there when no-one’s watching.”
“If no-one’s watching.” Ebak repeated. “There’ll be security cameras in there for sure, and going in alone is what got Gambit caught.”
“Yeah, and I would prefer not to lose you to those bastards too.” Shadow added.
“I’m not sure my power is going to help you to be sneaky,” Ber piped up, smiling widely, “but you know that I will always help you, Shadow. Any way I can.”
She smiled warmly back, touched as always by his unwavering loyalty.
“Oh, I’m sure there’s something a big bear man can do to help us.” Ebak grinned over at his friend. “You always need a little bit of muscle when the stealth mission goes awry, right Number One?” He flashed a wink in his sister’s direction, and she rolled her eyes at his nickname for her.
“Well, I guess I’m coming too,” Drifting spoke. “On account of being able to almost completely disappear.”
“Only come if you want to.” Shadow eyed her seriously. “That goes for the rest of you too. I know this is big ask for you all, and I wouldn’t judge you at all for stepping away to keep yourselves safe. But know I wouldn’t’ve called you if I didn’t think you had it in you to help me.”
Drifting considered this for a long moment, before she nodded.
“You are going to need the one mutant with invisibility in this, and someone has to keep an eye on you all.” She smiled as Shadow chuckled. “Just don’t leave me alone in there, okay?”
“Of course not.” Said Shadow. “I intend to get everyone out of that place. No-one left behind.”
Ebak leant over in his chair towards Myst, looking at his friend expectantly. The younger man folded his arms, avoiding his gaze until he uttered a long sigh.
“…Fine. I’ll guess I’ll come along too.” He shot a glare at Ebak, now grinning smugly. “Someone has to keep E safe.”
“Your portals will be very useful.” Shadow smiled. “We’ll need a quick a getaway. And, maybe,” she smirked, meeting Ber’s gaze, “an instant-Ber delivery system, should things go south.”
Ber grinned widely, his ice-blue eyes sparkling with mischief. A smile pulled at Myst’s lips at that, entertained by the thought.
All eyes now turned to Lemming, who seemed to have shrunk in his seat. He glanced down at his hands, fidgeting with his watch.
“I dunno what I could do to help,” he said, unable to meet their gazes. “My power’s useless for this.”
“Hey, be kind yourself!” Ber cried. “Don’t make me come over there and hug you!”
“I have a few ideas how a man with manipulation of time perception could be useful.” Ebak spoke, drumming his fingers together. “Besides, you’re more than just your power, my friend.” He smiled, leaning forward. “Out of all of us, you’re the most knowledgeable of weapons - that could definitely help give us an edge in knowing what we’re going up against.”
“Yeah. If we know what they’re packing, we can get an idea of how well funded they are and how dangerous.” Myst added. Shadow nodded slowly.
“And that will definitely be information Cyclops and the others will wanna know after we get out,” she said. “Also. On the very real possibility that something does go horribly wrong, we will need someone on the outside to get the rest of the X-Men.”
Lemming paled slightly.
“You…you sure about this?”
“Very sure. I’ve been around them long enough to know you also need a back-up plan, even if that backup plan is 'oh shit I fucked up, I need an adult’.” Shadow reached into her pocket for a pen. “I’ll give you the address, anyone got some paper?”
There was rustling from around the table, until Drifting pushed a small scrap of paper over to the other woman. Shadow thanked her, before beginning to slowly write it out in her neatest handwriting.
“Here.” She handed it to Lemming, who looked it over, tucking it into his pocket.
“Alright. I’ll come along.” He smiled, resting a hand on Shadow’s small shoulder. “To make sure y'all come back safely.”
“Thank you. I appreciate it.” Shadow smiled. “All of you. I know this isn’t gonna be easy or a walk in the park, so I’m really grateful for your help.”
“We’ll always be here for you.” Ber replied, smiling. “You know that.”
“What the Ber-man said!” Ebak added. “We’re your friends. Your problems are ours.”
Drifting nodded, as did Lemming.
“Besides, what the use of having the power to turn invisible if don’t use it to get into places I shouldn’t be.” Drifting commented, smiling wryly.
“Yeah! And think about it, how often does anyone get to say that they helped rescue an X-Men?” Myst pointed out. “Uh, provided we pull this off, of course.”
“I have faith in us.” Shadow smiled. “You’re not only my closest friends, but the finest group of mutants I know who aren’t famous. We can do this.”
“Right. Well, if we are going do this, we need to solve one very important problem,” Lemming said. “Communication. It’s not like any of us are telepathic or anything.”
“No worries, I had the exact same thought as you.” Shadow smirked, retrieving a small nylon pouch from her pocket. “When I briefly returned to the mansion to call you guys, I picked these up.”
She opened it, gently spilling its contents out. They leaned forwards to examine the small objects.
“Are these ear pieces?” Drifting asked, picking one up to examine it.
“Got it in one.” Shadow grinned. “They have the microphone attached, you can clip it subtly to a piece of your clothing, then press the body when you need to talk through. It’s what we use when we don’t have a dedicated comm. We’ll sort the frequency out in a bit.”
“Am I right in thinking you might have a plan for us, then?” Ebak asked, taking one of the ear pieces.
“A preliminary one, though we’ll need to do another rekkie before I’m sure.” Shadow said. “So, I was thinking…”

Genshin Haul: Childe and Zhongli go clothes shopping (part 2)
The curtain of the fitting room swished open, revealing Childe in his chosen ensemble. He struck a pose reminiscent of a dashing hero from a tale of old, one hand on his hip and the other flourishing an imaginary cape.
"Behold!" he declared with a playful grin, "What do you think?"
Zhongli, who had been patiently waiting outside, raised an eyebrow before allowing his gaze to leisurely travel up and down Childe's form. The outfit made quite the statement.
It was a streetwear outfit that combined the practicality of a traveler with the sleek style of urban fashion.
He was wearing a fitted, dark gray hoodie with intricate gold embroidery along the sleeves, echoing the designs of the Liyue Qixing. The hoodie’s high collar and asymmetrical zip gave it a modern edge, while the deep hood added an air of mystery. Underneath, he sported a simple black t-shirt with a small Fatui emblem subtly printed on the chest.
For bottoms, Childe opted for slim, black cargo pants that were both comfortable and functional, featuring multiple pockets with brass zippers and buttons. His footwear consisted of sleek, black combat boots with gold accents, providing durability and style. A wide, red sash was tied loosely around his waist, adding a pop of color. To complete the look, he wore fingerless gloves and a silver chain bracelet, blending the rugged with the refined.
"Pretty interesting," Zhongli murmured, his tone light. "It is certainly a testament to your… unique taste."
Childe pouted, feeling a twinge of disappointment at Zhongli's lack of enthusiasm. "Come on, you can be honest with me. I can take it."
The corners of Zhongli's lips twitched ever so slightly. "Very well. While the outfit does possess charm, and overall gives off a cohesive energy, I believe the effect would be more harmonious if you were to choose one or two core pieces, and let the rest be small accents."
As he paused, the other man stood in silence, taking in his words. So, he finished his thought in a more direct manner.
“In simpler words, it’s too much.” he concluded.
“Ah, well, I guess I can see it.” Childe chuckled. “Noted. Let’s get into the next one then.”
As he retreated into the dressing room, the older man surveyed their surroundings in a leisurely way while thinking to himself. This is nice, he thought. I never would have thought of this as a fun plan, but I guess you can’t really grow if you don’t try new things. I might even get an outfit for myself. I’ve been meaning to try wearing more lively colors.
The rustling of the curtain shook him from his thoughts. From a gap between it and the wall emerged the animated expression of his companion.
“So,” Childe said while making a face that read sorry about this, “I know you said to not overdo it.” Zhongli opened his mouth to say something, but he cut him off. “But! Just hear me out. Isn’t this a great fit?” he asked lightly as he jerked the whole curtain open.
He donned a multicolored, patchwork jacket that mixed bright hues of red, yellow, blue, and green, with each section featuring a different pattern—stripes, polka dots, and checkers. The jacket’s exaggerated, oversized collar and wide, flared cuffs gave it a whimsical, almost jester-like appearance.
Underneath, Childe wore a fitted shirt with puffed sleeves, adding to the outfit’s quirky charm. His pants were equally eye-catching—bright red with large, mismatched patches sewn onto the knees and thighs. A pair of green suspenders held the pants up. His footwear was equally eccentric: pointed-toe shoes adorned his feet. The right shoe was a sterile white color, while the left one was pitch black.
To complete the ensemble, Childe wore a large hat in bright purple, with a single, oversized feather stuck into the band.
Zhongli erupted into laughter at the sight. He looked like a festival jester. Utterly ridiculous, but still charming. This joyous sound of his laugh bounced off and infected Childe, who started cackling as well.
The two men laughed for a good moment, fueled by how ridiculous the outfit looked when Childe was bending over, trying to catch his breath.
Once they finally managed to calm down, Zhongli, back to his more reserved demeanor, finally said, “I don’t know what to say. This is either the single most atrocious outfit ever put together, or it’s the next step in fashion evolution.”
Still lightly chuckling, the redheaded man said “I’m just messing with you. Even I have my limits.” He then continued as he started removing the attire, starting with the dense jacket, “Although, I would like your opinion on how I could make a colorful getup work. Kind of like this style, except not lunatic.”
Zhongli stroked his chin as he mulled it over. “Well, while I appreciate your enthusiasm for bold patterns, perhaps consider balancing them with more subdued colors Like wearing a lively shirt, but with toned down pants that will allow it to stand out. Or a solid-colored jacket tends to work well”
Childe pondered Zhongli's words, appreciating both the advice and the opportunity to learn from someone as refined as him. "You might be onto something there," he admitted, mentally noting which pieces could be adjusted to achieve the perfect balance between extravagance and elegance.
"Furthermore," Zhongli continued as he pointed at the jacket that was now folded on his arm, "you may wish to consider the fit of your garments. Proper tailoring can accentuate one's natural physique quite a lot."
"I’d agree with you, except my physique is already flawless.” The makeshift model said with a smirk.
A slight blush crept up on Zhongli’s face as he replied “I’m serious. Besides the jacket being too big, the pants are too high waisted, and your shirt is not proportioned correctly. The seams where the center piece meets the sleeves should be right over your shoulder line, right now it’s too wide”
“Huh,” Childe flashed a humble smile, “I honestly did not know that. How do I even fix that?”
“Well,” he said as he stood up and approached the booth, “I guess it would require stitching. Probably along these spots here. Look.”
Zhongli finished his approach and was now face to face with him. Without saying a word, he, feigning nonchalance, placed his hands on the shirt.
Childe couldn't help but feel a thrill run through him as Zhongli's fingers adjusted the fit of his clothes, guiding him towards a more refined presentation. The dark-haired man placed his determined hands on his arms and pinched the fabric, lifting it until it rose to his shoulders. He then kept them near his collarbone with a focused gaze.
“Yes, that would work.” He said with a slight smile, eyes not meeting Childe’s.
"Got it," Childe mumbled, his fingers fumbling with the buttons of his shirt as he struggled to focus on anything other than the tantalizing warmth of Zhongli's presence. "I'll keep that in mind."
They stood close to each other, neither daring to breathe. Childe cursed his own awkwardness, and, to break the tension, said the first thing that came to his mind.
“And what had you said about the pants?” Childe asked in a low voice, his sheepishness surprising him.
“Ah. Yes. The pants.” The other man, still close to him, said. “They’re too high waisted. Besides taking off the stupid suspenders,” they both chuckled for a second, dissipating some of the tension, “you could probably stitch it in the sides so it’s a tighter fit.”
After hesitating for a moment, Zhongli’s hands began traveling downwards, toward the hem of the pants. Childe didn’t protest, he just stood in attentive silence.
Just as Zhongli began to crouch down and place his hands on Childe’s waistband, the store's door flew open with a bang.
Lumine burst into the shop, her golden hair streaming behind her like a comet's tail, her eyes alight with urgency. "Childe!" she exclaimed, barely sparing a glance at his attire. "I must speak with you immediately!"

What are your thoughts on Rainbow High series 2?
Alright Day 2 of working my way through all these asks!
Under the cut!
Amaya Raine!
I personally tend to like Amaya dolls when her hair is mostly white but I don’t hate the blue dominance! Matches nicely with the blue sparkly cut crease eye look. What I’m not super fond of, is the shirt under the dress look- it’s really just personal preference. Theres nothing exactly wrong with it design wise, I just don’t love it.
And again, I know the socks and sandals make the shoes easy to swap between dolls but. MAN JUST MAKE BOOTS
Outfit two I love! Only thing I really mind is the hoodie and the cheer shirt being separate, I wish it was just one piece. I don’t hate the socks and heels here, mostly because they’re one color and I can pretend the shoes are close toed boots
Krystal Bailey!
I’m sorry queen: your hair is a downgrade from Junior high.
But I LOVE her jacket, love the rhinestone buttons, love the sorta button on sleeves, love the lace ups but I wish they were clipped and singed. Just accessories. The zipper skirt…I’d probably like it more if it was asymmetrical but it’s cool! Her shoes I don’t mind at all cuz they DONT PUT HER IN SOCKS TOO I rest my case.
Her second outfit is FULL 👏 BANGERS 👏
Jacket? Beautiful, wonderful, awesome. Her ripped Zipper jeans? Amazing, gorgeous, awesome and I’d take those pants happily. I love the addition of fishnets under them too.
Probably my favorite thing is her shoes because the upper part of them clip over the jeans and make the top of the shoes, look like cuffs on the jeans!!!
River Kendall!
Thiiissss is a downgrade. Go get tips from your 7th grade self honey.
Karma Nichols!
Her first outfit. We. Aren’t gonna talk about it.
Second outfit though is fire. Love that green zip skirt (kinda what I’d wanna give Krystal tbh), her see-through jean jacket is super cool. The heels are funky and cool. I’m choosing to think the Rainbow top she’s wearing is a play on a white cropped Gucci top.
Stella Monroe!
SHE LEARNED SOME CONTRAST MY GIRL!
Her hair, her fluffy ass jacket and her cutout pattern skirt are all soooo cunty. Wish her socks were opaque though. Shoes are cool.
Her second outfit is…here. I’d prefer if the two peice was a top and shorts with a translucent skirt on the shorts. I’d just delete the weird mesh top- the shoes are here, not bad not good. Significantly less cunty
Bella Parker!
THIS BARBIE IS CHER HOROWITZ MEETS ELLE WOODS. ITS LITERALLY JUST THAT AND SHES SLAYING IT.
Second outfit is adorable, I love the tights and heels, I love the dress, love the moto jacket. I want her to be a biker girly and she and Ruby might be girlfriends.
