Jurassic June Day 23: Atrociraptor Squad. So this was another group of dinos that I didn't really much for until Chaos Theory. So so so so happy we got the squad there because they are a delight. I enjoy that Soyona likes Red. And the handler is so cool. What a great use of the squad. Please give me more in the next season.

Is there a chance Red will mimic the handler's whistle when the four atrociraptors meet? I feel like it's not impossible and that's how they end up working as a pack

They are a pack. They're just split up like the CampFam at the moment; you know how groups separate to go off on solo adventures sometimes? Red's on the solo adventure.

Having Handler thoughts rn and I really wanna write a one shot with her on a little camping trip with her raptor kids or siblings. I don’t know if anyone has done it or not yet, but the fluff has been on my mind. I love their dynamic, I’m a sucker for a good human and animal friendship. 😭

Maybe it’s just my excuse to write for her, dunno. I just thought it would be fun writing her and the Atrociraptor squad braving the wilderness for no real reason other than she thought it would be good for them to stretch their legs. (I like to headcanon that she takes care of her raptors like Owen despite using them as hit men. She lets them go out and do normal dinosaur stuff).

this is almost certainly completely unintentional, but as i was wondering WHAT the atrociraptor squad reminded me of, i realized it was anti-communist death squads. particularly those of latin america, and even MORE so those of the chilean dictator pinochet.

under pinochet, there was a secret police task force used to carry out state violence. it was often done in such a means that the person would "disappear", and, if you were lucky, the body would eventually be dumped somewhere public. similar to how brooklynn's body was never found beyond her limb. but again, in most circumstances, the person would simply cease to exist one day, without any closure for the family.

how pinochet came into power was through militancy and having western backers like the US, often under the guise of aid or retaining "chilean sovereignty" against their elected communist leader. similar to how the DPW sold off dinosaurs it captured rather than doing what they actually promised to do. they preformed highly classified fraud for the benefit of wealthy clients/donors.

but back to death squads, pinochet's junta military would primarily target journalists, who could expose them, or anyone with outwardly communist sympathies including union leaders, activists, or even artists. you couldn't even vaguely go against the states interest without secret police using intimidation or torture to shut you up. like how the atrociraptors were sent after desai.

and importantly, the death squads also defended CAPITAL. which is why they were so anti-union. large conglomerate companies, like the auto or food industries, were protected from attempted unionization because they had secret police willing to do the dirty work in intimidating or harming the workers fighting for better conditions. like how the atrociraptors work in the sole capital interest of both soyona and biosyn.

JWCT S3 Predictions For The Handler‼️

Hey hoes so I came up with some possible outcomes for The Handler in s3, and what shenanigans she might get herself into 😝😝

1- With the N5 still technically being in Senegal, and Soyona knowing they’re there, and have been there for a bit, and also the fact they might be stuck there for a while, Soyona probably ordered The Handler to bring her ass over to Senegal, catching the N5 off guard, to finish the job. So now the N5 are not only trying to leave Senegal and find out where Brooklynn and Soyona are going, they have to survive in the jungle from not only dinosaurs, but The Handler, who is once again hunting them down.

2- The Handler actually meets up with Soyona and Brooklynn wherever the plane is going, therefore basically explaining how the Evil Raptor Squad reunites. The Handler follows and joins with Soyona and Brooklynn, thus making Brooklynn’s job a lot harder, because now The Handler is there, watching her every move.

3- She doesn’t go to Senegal, or to Brooklynn and Soyona, but rather continuing to cause trouble in the states. Maybe she starts messing around with the DLN, DPW, just being an absolute MENACE to society.

4- Episodes that feature her are past tense, and are actually her own POV, so it shows her tactics, how she found the N5, or Brooklynn, basically showing what she was doing off screen. Possible backstory stuff maybe.

5- Actual full on backstory episodes, probably featuring her training the atrociraptors when they were babies, showcasing how the bond came to be between her and the raptors, and what relationship dynamic her and Soyona Santos might have; how they met, what training the raptors was like for them, etc etc. How she came to be a raptor handler, and what she was doing before the raptors, and before Soyona.

What other predictions might be possible?

I really loved The Handler in the show and I have been saying FOR YEARS that if you're gonna train a dinosaur to do your dirty work you need a whistle. None of this weird point and shoot laser sight shit, like that took so long to do in the movies and it wasn't building tension like they thought it was it was just dumb. That's not how you'd communicate with an animal and I'm so glad they went the whistle route instead because now it feels like how people might train sea lions and dogs to perform tasks.

I also love how as the story goes on we see both The Handler and the Atrociraptors show affection for one another even to the point of the Atrociraptors all checking on her when she was unconscious before defaulting to Ghost's commands (the white one). It really helps convince you why they would follow her in the first place. And honestly I feel like The Handler worked better with her raptors than the Raptor Squad ever did with their leader.

And never at any point did she not feel like part of the pack, she shared the same intensity and harshness as her raptors. When they moved together there was always a place for her among them and this synchronicity and teamwork really blurred the lines between human and dinosaur for both of them.

In my opinion, she probably has a kind of military training seeing her moving. I dont think she has any kind of standard of comfort.

The theory i have is that maybe she just move wherever her and atrociraptor are sent. We saw soyona having diferent bases and labs, and anyways, she work with byosin, so their complex probably count to.

Probably in that spaces have restrooms or bedrooms (idk if i say that properly). So i guess she is like a nomad and sleeps wherever she can. Like the auto-driving ban where the atros jump in after capture the pyros.

I like to think in she spleeping with the atroci squad to... just because... why not? Is her mother and dont look like they would have a problem with it, she is one of their at their look.

About the food... probably soyona or byosin give her the nesesary thing to keep them in form and as empleoyers she probably have a rest... maybe?

Y'all a question has been bugging me, how rich is the handler or at least what's her financial status? There's no way Soyona's always paying for the handler's Atrociraptors, like their food and stuff, where does the handler even stay? Surely she doesn't live in her truck thingy, and what does she do on her day offs or if she even has day offs.

I’m having an absolute blast mentally creating (and starting to write) my Jurassic World Dinbo au.

It’s set basically after Dominion- the world has had to evolve to living with dinos in the wild. However this obviously comes with humans abusing their power over them. That’s where Din and his super sexy dino crew come in who run a dino rehab/rescue centre.

Raptor Squad:

Razor. A silver/grey Atrociraptor with black ticks along her scales. She has her fair share of scars mostly from pacing the cage of where she was rescued from. She’s the oldest and therefore the beta of the group.

Naboo. A Pyroraptor with silver feathers. She’s the youngest and was rescued by Din when she was barely a hatchling. She’s the speediest of the group.

Gauntlet. A light grey Velociraptor with blue streaks.

Fire spray. A Velociraptor who sports a green base, red streaks and the odd yellow spot.

Naboo and Razor were rescued from the same place along with a Triceratops named Crest, who also has a silver hide. The collector boasted about his collection of silver dinos until their condition was discovered and they were eventually rescued. Naboo and Razor have a grandchild to grandmother relationship, Razor gets annoyed at Boo’s energy but makes sure she gets her share during feeding time.

Gauntlet and Firespray were wild raptors who got caught in traps, so their pack was forced to leave them behind. Very untrusting of Din to begin with but Razor and Naboo helped show them he’s not one of those cruel humans, he’s a good one.

Size large to small goes- Razor, Firespray, Gauntlet, Naboo.

Herbivores:

Crest. A silver Triceratops who is very old, very grumpy, and has always lived alone so can’t handle a herd environment.

Betty, Bella, Beatrice. Three Ankylosaurus rescued from an auction. Created by me just to flesh the park out.

Others:

Krayt. The T-Rex (sandy/tan in colour) who Cobb is in charge of looking after. Found in the desert lost and confused she was taken in to be cared for and eventually released, but refused to be released so spends her days being waited on by Cobb. She’s showing signs of arthritis in her knees so it takes her a bit longer to get up in the mornings.

Mythasaurus Rex. A genetic hybrid designed for no purpose other than “can we actually do this”. I can’t say any more as her presence heavily effects the plot

I’ve been watching a lot of Monkey World whilst I’ve been sick so let’s blame that for this.

What do you like most about the Raptor Squad from jurassic world? What if the four had a team attack?

THE RAPTOR SQUAD? man i love them for alot of things but to start off the most obvious one i think its their individuality

i remember going thru the behind the scenes stuff and noticing the tiny little individual details in their models- the fact that delta and charlie have more prominent crests (like the jp 3 raptors) and blue and echo dont,

i also noticed some slight changes in texture between them (echo and blue)

echos (left) muzzle is slightly rougher than blues around the ridges which i think is because the official artbook (idk if it was that) of the movie stated that echos DNA is filled with bearded dragon- another thing that i like about them which is having different DNA gaps filled in- you can see how blues ridge is smooth as hell instead !

this is because blue and echo fought for dominance over the group but echo obviously lost and had to get jaw surgery or something, but its little details like this that i also like

they seem to have different personalities judging by their body language, and im pretty sure some site also said that delta is actually the oldest while charlie is the youngest (could be blue being the oldest though, i really dont know their lore is scuffy)

lastly to not make this too long i obviously love how they have so many colors going on due to the different DNA gaps, while other raptors usually looked the same in a group. if im not mistaken blues DNA has black-throated monitor, delta's im not sure and i dont think i remember, echos bearded dragon and charlie the green iguana ^^

and about the other question- i wouldve loved if they lived on so the other movies had them together, maybe they couldve had a team attack with the atrociraptors- i dont know, wouldve been cool i think, i already expected blue to fight red somewhat due to the merch but guess not :/

really bummed out they just all got killed off like that, they have so many unique things going on, and it sucks how little echo was shown in the movie imo not just cause shes my favorite but her colors are the most unique besides blue- not even her merch gets it right smh
