“Mmhmm.” Lockwood agrees, but then his mouth is descending back to hers.

Hello! What are some of your hellcheer fic recs?

Hi! I had really good intentions for putting together a succinct list when I started responding to this, but I tripped and wrote a Hellcheer fanfic compendium instead, apparently.

If you want something a little longer:

The third part of agents_cxrter's liner notes series is also really great, but I highly recommend you read all three parts because um they're just cute as hell the dialogue is just pitch perfect.

okay and these next ones DO contain smut, BUT it's limited and I think the non-smutty parts are still very much worth reading:

One Night Only by HarpiaHarpyja. (Rated E) There's a kind of charged kiss in chapter 2 1, but explicit smut is only in the fourth chapter which can easily be skipped altogether if you want (third chapter ends on a really sweet little note that makes a perfect ending) BUT if you do still want to read a snuggly afterglow coda, check out the author's note in chapter 4. author actually tells you where to stop reading and marks where the smut ends so you can skip right past it.

summer in the city by deathvalleyusa (rated M) this is only a year after they graduate, but it takes place in nyc and it's just so nice to imagine eddie with a little found family in another city after graduating and chrissy reconnecting with him there. there's a kiss that gets a little handsy in chapter 5 and non-explicit sex in chapter 6. (if you want to skip it entirely, start scrolling at "You can’t miss me while you’re still here," and stop scrolling at "I don’t want to leave, Eddie") ALSO...technically this one is unfinished but it still actually feels like a complete arc so i think it's still worth a read. i like to think of it ending in a place like The Graduate or Say Anything.

Does anyone have any good Hellcheer fics where it's Eddie and Chrissy meeting again after a few years??? Been thinking about that concept a lot lately but I don't know what tags to use on ao3 to look for it 😅

He feels a twitch in his heart, a tiny unravelling of hope he hadn’t dared to let himself acknowledge until now. Ryan and Lucy’s emails were romantic, but a code to crack from Nancy Drew? That sure feels like a love letter to him.
