love how much of b'elanna's out of uniform clothes use cool browns and purples and muted autumnul colours it's such a fascinating palette for her. kind of gently morose, closest you can get to street casual poetic goth without going the whole all-black route. again with the way her whole angry-feisty reputation is complete bullshit - she's a cool colours autumn girl at heart, a bit melancholy but graceful with it.

[Video Description: This is a silent colour video of a dauschund dog happily running though thick piles of crispy autumnal leaves. These leaves run all along the sidewalk, at first you can just see the dog lead. Then the leaves begin moving and then the little dog pops out and jumps on what I’m guessing someone’s garden/verge? I see these descriptions more and more comanly now which i think is great. I want to to my bit to help when I have the spoons, this is my first time doing one hope it’s okay and maybe helped someone. As boring as it sounds I’d love to just get better from pneumonia. But also I’d like to have my apple surprise cookies I came up with.

anyway I’m gonna ramble about Midnight Radio because I love it and I have too many thoughts and not enough brain to condense them LET’S GO

the first time I listened to it I was sewing cause I needed something to do with my hands and now it’s all my brain will let me listen to when sewing, which is wonderful cause it means I can actually relisten to it (something I struggle with)

the whole thing is so soft and warm and... if you’ve listened to Critical Role you’ll know Caduceus, and his relationship to death and dying. it reminds me of that. just... it’s inevitable, and that’s okay. also Sybil talking about how she’s your friend even if you don’t know each other? I cried. I cry every time. that would have fucked me UP a year ago and it fucks me up now in the best way I love her

the fact that going in I knew one of the main characters was dead did incredible things for my story anxiety. I didn’t have to worry about her getting hurt, cause she was already dead! the worst that could happen had!

so Over the Garden Wall has a very specific nostalgic-hazy vibe to it, very autumnul, that also shows up in Midnight Radio? very settle in with a cup of tea and bask in it sort of feeling. it’s so cozy, and cold while also being warm. which makes no sense! but it is.

like you go into it knowing that it’s a love story between two women, but the fact that it isn’t.... taken for granted? is nice. I’m a big fan of stories where things like homophobia exist, but the characters overcome it and live happily ever after, and Midnight Radio does that, while also still keeping it soft and cozy; all the homophobia is offscreen or implied, but it’s there. idk that makes me happy. also all the hints we get of Sybil being queer are very good because she clearly either doesn’t know or isn’t willing to admit it, and the show lets her have that. it lets her take her time and come to terms with it on her own, as does Amelia. it’s good.

the ads? I love them. the vibes. they’re so good. ads are like.... time capsules? of values? and these one’s reflect that so well. I haven’t the brain to do an in depth analysis of that right now, but I’m thinking of the piano recital furniture cleaner ad in specific.

Amelia mentioning Hallmark movies and me being like >:3c and googling when those starting being made was also a very good moment. not inheriant to everyone’s experiance, but just. the Hallmark movie hint. very good.

the fact that it’s unclear if the producer is 1) the one who killed Sybil, 2) the actual producer who’s keeping her trapped there as an also ghost, 3) just the manifestation of Sybli’s fear of leaving, is also very good. I love that. it adds to the haunted ghost story vibe of it all, it’s wonderful

well i was actually was in color guard for five years! im quite musically challenged tho. i tried learning guitar at the start of quarantine but i sucked at it so i stopped. i was on flag line, rifle line, and saber line tho.

So island hopping yo find villagers is a nightmare and I might actually just buy Butch's amiibo card at this point.

After 67 tickets I ended up finding Rudy and took him. I know that means, realistically, replacing Ribbot. I actually legit feel bad about that, because Ribbot is pure, but his house is upsettingly ugly both inside and out (he was one of my starting buddies), and it's time for change. I'm not gonna force Ribbot out, but next time he asks to leave (which should be next as he maxed out friendship) I'll let him go. U_U I just. Don't need 2 jocks lol. And I honestly adore Rudy, I'm weak for autumnul looking red-nosed cat.

Honorable mentions of villagers I saw island hopping and loved but didn't take would be Gayle and Sprocket. Love them both, but just happier with my currents of their personality types.

May I find Butch on my next open house slot. DX
