After going through a bunch of emotional rollar coster ride,with bloodshed, gore, screams and tears. I finally finished this beautiful masterpiece and here is my review.

So this story is about a girl who is chosen by the Hidden, has these amazing fey powers and weilds the infamous sword. Is that the whole story NO!,there is more to it than what is shown in the trailer HELL YESSSS!!!!.

As a sucker for Authorian legend, i had an eye on this show and believe me it doesnot dissappoint. I loved the story line, the direction, the characters arc, from the start of nimeu journey to meeting the end was syncronized so beautifully and amazing. You will fell in love with every piece of the forests to the leaves to the feys and the knights except for Father Cardan and Iris.

Gosh watching these two was a torture to my eyes. *drop dead*. *uuugghh go die in a hole you bitch* and much other vivid vocabulary was used whenever they were onscreen and now Iris with 'them, those trinity knights' uggh *eye roll* but i am still excited to see more of this.

This show was owned by Queens after Queens. Morgana, Kazi, Pym and sometimes Nimeu. Let me tell you all , Nimeu is a great person, but is aint a queen nor a leader, i could see her doing blunders after blunders and at time i have seen her go power hungry. I know she was learning and everything was happening so fast but still, she needs alot of practice and training to be a warrior first then to be Queen. Nimeu magic and what is meant to be Summoner wasnt shown much. I guess that would be discuss in S2 (if there is one, PLEASE BE ONE). The story was mostly about the sword, so i would really like to see what NIMEUH actually is without the sword and its power.

Ok to get things cleared up a bit, when the cast was introduced and we met Arthur i saw much opinions and criticism going on towards his appearance (i will not go into that deeply) but all i have to say, whatever his appearance or looks was, this person was ARTHUR THROUGH AND THROUGH from the heart. We all know Arthur as a fair and just person, and he potrayed it so well, he is a kind person, a great swordsman and an amazing and fair leader. Many times he stood up and showed people the way when Nimeu couldn't. He stood and fought for the fey when he himself is human( as both of them are shunned by each other) but this man didnt care, he fought for what is right and that is what we know of Arthur,regardless of what he looks like. I accept him if he is going to be the Once and Future King cuz by heart he is the Arthur we all know and love.

I screamed on the top of my lungs when Morgana made her appearance. You go girl! Also i am scared for you because i donot like what is waiting for you at the end.

I think we can all agree. PYM, SQUIRREL AND KAZI has a separate fan base by now. The best side characters i could ever ask for.

The romance part between Arthur and Nimeu was throwing me off a bit. For me Pym and Dod relationship ruled and it was pretty sweet even though it was for a short while🤧🤧i still liked it, ALSO THAT GIRL DESERVES A MASSIVE RESPECT SHE HAS BEEN THROUGH SOO MUCH. My baby PYM.

CAN I JUST SAY SOMETHING. THIS SHOW WAS OWNED BY THE WEEPING MONK AND MERLIN and whoever disagree can join the ranks of Father Cardan ( just kidding). Anyways when i came to know Daniel Sharman is in this series. I was like, let get yourself on board on his protection squad wagon. This boy was my baby when he was lssac Lahey in Teen wolf. I was protecting him then and i am protecting him now and he made me proud. Yes i will repeat it again MY BABY REDEEM HIMSELF and made me proud and he is a natural father🤧🤧🤧 PERCIVAL AND HIM yesssssss 😍😍😍❤️❤️❤️❤️. My son is going to raise this boy. I already knew there was more to him that meets the eye and i was not wrong and the best part is that he is playing one of my favourite knight LANCELOT DU LAC. YESSSS BITCHES. MY BABY IS LANCELOT. 💕💕💕 And nobody should hurt him i will riot. I will use the sword on them gladly.

Finally finally saw Merlin with some backbone. With some badassry, he was the best, he is the best and he will always be the best and that last scene *chills* *literal chills*

You go my badass Merlin. I am with you. And also Uther and Merlin dynamic was 😂 to my eyes. They were soo awesome together and Uther itself is amazing. I liked him alot.

Look people let's be clear if we can accept bbc merlin for their adaption on the authorain legend with that ending then surely we can accept this too. Everybody has a right to tell the story their way and the way Netflix told through Cursed was thorough and with depthness, from the time when Arthur himself is learning, when we will not only see his journey as king but also how others played into their role of destiny. I really liked this showed and i applaud every single actor for doing such an amazing work.

SEASON 2 PLEASE. I NEED TO SEE MORE OF MY DANIEL SHARMEN AS MY LANCELOT NOW. The best knight and the noblest of them all.😍😍😍

Also for all my bbc merlin fans, there are many scenes, scenarios and dialogues that will give you nostalgia, so brace yourself and enjoy 😁🤗

Anonymous Request: Hey I think your writing is incredible and I wanted to make a request where Becky is dating the reader who is the MMA fighter who knocked out Rhonda Rousey and is the Ufc champ. Maybe she shows up during their feud or the one with Shayna? And is a total badass, but totally bottoms for Becky? Sorry if that’s confusing and makes no sense... I just wanted to say you’re awesome!

THE IS SMOOT, YOU’VE BEEN WARNED

You couldn’t help but smirk from your place in the front row, watching Becky cut a promo was always all encompassing, the woman having a way with her words that made you hang on every word.

It’s when that promo is ruined by the Cage Fighter, The Queen of Spades, Shayna Baszler begins her assault. Your fingers twitched, hands balling into fists, you wanted nothing more than to leap over the barricade and take out the former Cage Fighter, but the UFC champion interfering in WWE?

You’d be stripped of your title for sure, but it was when Shayna sunk her teeth into your girlfriend’s neck that all of your sense went out the window.

Shayna had made a quick retreat when you jumped over the barricade, cupping Becky’s cheeks as she rambled to the medical staff, chanting over and over again; I’m fine, I’m fine, I’m fine.

“Baby, you’re bleeding, we need to get you to the hospital...” You frown.

Becky shakes her head.

“I’m fine.”

Becky’s brown orbs flutter open, immediately seeing the sadness and concern in your eyes, accompanied by a stealthy pout, you had an image to maintain after all.

Becky groans.

“Damn it, Y/N. I’m fine. Where’s Shayna?” She asks her hand on her bleeding neck.

You practically have to chase your girlfriend back stage, glaring at the medical team to keep them away from her.

“Becky, you have to-

Becky turns on you, utter fury in her brown orbs.

“I’m da Man damn it; I can take care of myself.”

You pinch the bridge of your nose, unable to hold back a smile.

“You’re always so fucking stubborn.” You mumble under your breath as you chase after her, noticing the bleeding is getting worse.

“Becky, I know you can take care of yourself, but you still need to get it looked at.” You grab her shoulder, the woman turning around abruptly.

Becky lets out a groan, rolling her brown orbs at the sight of your pout, bottom lip jutted out as far as it can go.

“Fine, but I won’t like it... And if we see Shayna...” She shakes her finger and you nod.

“I won’t hold you back.”

Of course, you hadn’t expected for Becky to steal the ambulance, driving the two of you to the hospital and back, after Becky was bandaged up, the woman yet again cutting an amazing promo before coming back to you backstage.

You frown, brushing a fingertip across some dried blood on her cheek.

“Come on babe, let’s get you cleaned up.”

“Excuse me, Becky would you like to comment on-

You turn around, sending Charly Caruso a glare that makes her little back away, hands held up in surrender.

You turn back to Becky your steely Y/E/C orbs softening immediately which makes her smile.

“You know when I get my hands on her, I’ll make the first time I knocked her out look like a love tap.” You snarl angrily, Becky taking your hand.

“Come on, yer gonna clean me up, right?” She asks and you give her a shy smile, cheeks pink.

“Gladly.”

You’d become Becky’s shadow after that, your presence in the backstage area deterring any and all challengers who wanted a piece of Becky Lynch.

You were the UFC Champion, the underdog who’d knocked Ronda Rousey out with a swift punch, shocking the world.

You could also say the same about Shayna since you knocked her out with a knee to the face, busting the woman open in the process.

You were a force to be reckoned with, currently untouchable in the world of MMA.

When it came to Becky Lynch though?

You were literal putty in her hands, the woman had you wrapped around her finger and she knew it.

Becky delicately cups your cheeks, pressing a tender kiss to your lips.

“Go get them champ.” You smirk and Becky grins, patting her title.

“Oh, I will. Stay outta trouble.”

Becky, as per usual is cutting an amazing promo, slowly digging Shayna’s grave when the woman herself makes her presence known, but not in the ring, no, the woman strutting up to you backstage.

Almost immediately a camera is on the two of you, Becky going silent as she stares at the Tron where there’s literal inches between you and Shayna.

“You look pretty cocky strutting up to me, I mean... The last time we met I kneed you in the head and knocked your ass out.” You smirk, the WWE Universe cheering.

Becky smirking up at the screen.

You chuckle.

“Why are you back here with me?” You nod your head towards the camera. “Your opponents out in the ring, afraid?” You ask, a cocky smirk stretched across your face, your nose brushes Shayna’s as you lean closer.

“Yeah, I knocked you out in UFC...” You pat your title.

“But Becky?”

You grin cockily.

“Becky Lynch is gonna beat the holy hell out of you.”

Wordlessly, you turn on your heels and walk away, leaving a visibly shaken Shayna Baszler behind.

Becky nods, clapping a hand against the microphone.

“I think Y/N said all dat needs ta be said.”

Becky’s music hits and the fans cheer, the Raw Women’s Champion holding her title high, a smirk on her face as her tongue swipes at her lips.

The Ranking Of Pretty Cure Power Up Outfits

Took an already meh outfit and made it bad.

The “one shoe so tall it’s half a pair of tights and one short shoe” is just not a good look. But we all knew that.

Your outfit isn’t bad, but no one will ever take you seriously with hair like that. Sorry, Nagisa.

Snore.

Take that ridiculous extra size out of your shoes and wristbands and give it to your wings and maybe then you’ll look good.

What is even going on with your skirt?

I like the wings on the heart, and the long cape, but I’m putting your powerup near the bottom until you learn to share.

This is cute... but it’s not really a “frilly upgrade” since it’s just a colour palette change.

Oh look, she might actually be a yellow cure now.

I am going to eat your entire outfit.

Dress is an upgrade, sleeves are a downgrade, and give Homare back that piece of her hair.

Much, MUCH cuter than your regular outfit. Only way this could be improved would be if you let Hime and Iona each have one too.

Those crescent moon shoes though

Those mecha wings look like weapons. Like she could open them up like scissors at that line near the bottom and slice someone in half.

Oh hell yeah, butterfly wings!

Have you ever noticed how those shoes actually kind of look like plants and water splashes?

Back bows the size of the wearer? Skirts in 4 colours each representing a member of the team? Glowing makeup? That sleeve and bow style? Everything about these uniforms is #goals.

BRB, searching up “fur shawl with a red bow on the front and large gems meant to look like cherries”.

Look at that sleeve upgrade. And I mean UPGRADE!!

Ako, you look absolutely adorable in that, but I really don’t like long sleeves so you’re going way below your teammates.

So much faux fur. So glam.

Upgraded top, god-tier shoes, good sleeves but the og sleeves were better, great gloves. The skirt is a little WTF though.

It’s like she used a heart-shaped hole punch on her skirt. I love it.

Let’s be honest, the only reason I ranked this so high is because it’s pink.

Fun Fact: when I went to a digital RP event called the Crystal Ball on a website with my internet sisters, and everyone had to choose a gemstone to base their outfit on, I chose alexandrite because of Mahou Tsukai.

Golden Queens of everything in existence. Not pictured: the matching giant key-staffs that Mermaid, Twinkle, and Scarlet have.

Look at that entire galaxy inside her skirt. Like Ultimate Madoka only with better hair accessories.

You rock those accent colours! You rock them!

I wonder if she can play distorted guitar on her hair in this form.

Ranking this one high purely because it’s such a MASSIVE improvement over her awful starter outfit. The one sock still sucks, the everything else is like an “after” picture in a beauty ad.

I will never get over that heart on the front and the fluffy sleeves. This is cuter than some real life bunnies.

Y’know what’s even better than huge feathered wings? Huge GOLDEN feathered wings. Also that hair accessory: fabulous.

The fact that there’s outfits on here that are able to beat out the powered-up version of the girl with the best starter outfit in the franchise really speaks to how amazing these styles are.

Gorgeous movie powerup ballgown mode, ENGAGE!!

Of course the girl with idol dreams has a fabulous outfit straight out of Aikatsu.

This is really close to being the perfect magical girl outfit.

This is some heavenly beauty right here.

But this. THIS. This has everything you could possibly ask for in a powerup outfit and I’d wear it without question. Extra lace frills and ruffles everywhere, tiaras, absolute pastel, little symbols in lengthened hair, crystal emblems in bows, those exact types of ruffles trailing from the bows, gold detail, lace and sparkles everywhere... you cannot improve on this.

Oh, did I say you can’t improve on Mode Elegant Premium? I was wrong... Mode Elegant Premium with ENORMOUS LACE BOWS THAT FUNCTION AS WINGS!!!!!!!

i had a SUPER tiring day i mite talk abut later but RIGHT NOW i wanna talk about the make it sweet! album for Um Jammer Lammy because i listtened to than a couple days ago, and just today i showed it 2 my little brother, and i wanted to write down what i thought about the tracks!!

i wrote down my personal thoughts on each track and gave it a rating out of 5 Dashies (-= It’s because i’m autistic plain and simple

[1/2) Let’s Jam Together!/KEEP YOUR HEAD UP!!] - waow!!!

I LOVE THIS SONG <3 i really liked this song when i heard it in the credits and was wondering what its name was, it was nice to hear it in the album as the very first track!!

i love the additional dialogue at the start, the “Hey, do you play the guitar? Let’s jam together!” really represents the ragtaginess of the band just kind of throwing themselves together to make music so naturally... like little jigsaw pieces... it makes me want to know exactly how they interacted before the formation of MilkCan, how long they’d known each other/how they had known each other, or if they met right as they made the band.

the playful and funny lyrics of this song are really great, and i like the way it trails off in the middle. like the song was just Katy Kat truly venting off her frustrations and heartbreak about someone she used to like.

i wonder who exactly Katy Kat is talking about here in this song... well anyways she’s got lammy now so all’s well (-=

the second portion’s lyrics sound a little dopey and off-key, but i think it reflects katy’s mood regarding the lyrics of how easy her life used to be, and it all comes together beautifully for the chorus reprise with some pretty strings (i love strings in rock music!)

i bet this kind of music really resonated with some young girls listening. Can’t relate however as I hate men.

overall this is a 5/5 dashies! “Amazing!”

[3) FRIGHT FLIGHT!!] - LOOK UP IN THE SKY.

THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVOURITE SONGS IN THE GAME! when it started obviously i was expecting fussenpepper, and it was shocking to hear katy kat singing it

i think this is one of the covers that katy kat’s voice matches the most! her voice really fits shouting like that, it’s really hyped up

my favourite line from her cover is the “Now it’s time to move on, it only gets much harder, so carry on!”

and obviously i love hearing her say “Now do you like munchies? I wonder where lunch is!”

i do think that captain fussenpepper’s voice suits the song better than her, because it was made with him, but her voice definitely shines on this track!

overall this is a 4/5 dashies! “Really Good!”

[4) BABY BABY!!] - Imagine kids singing this on a car trip with their parents looking dead inside in the front seats.

I USED TO NOT LIKE THIS SONG. but playing it myself really warmed me up on it, and this version on the album made me like it even more!! i love katy kat’s additional lines between the baby’s, she suits giving those secondary vocals and they add a whole additional layer to the song.

i also like that the baby’s lyrics kind of echo over lammy’s guitar parroting, like you can hear the “... ma ma ma ma” coming in at the end of her first part, it sounds really nice!

this is the song i can really imagine kids shouting the lyrics to at a birthday party or something and i think they knew that when they added it O_O

overall this is a 4.5/5 dashies! “Almost Perfect!” i think it would’ve been cooler if the lammy and katy kat parts were more integrated with eachother. don’t ask me how exactly, because i don’t know, and maybe they didn’t either... it still came out REALLY nice!

[5) FIRE FIRE!!] - Aweome where is chief puddle? )-=

i think that this is my favourite song in the entire game, altho that will change depending on what day you ask me it, and a big part of it is fire chief puddle’s vocals and the brass and sound effects of the song

it kind of sucks that a lot of that seems lacking in katy’s version, although i like that it kind of seems like theres more emphasis on the percussions of it!

i don’t like the distant whispery vocals on the “Put it on the fire, feel good, Put it out cold and feel good”, it sounds really weird. because those lyrics are one of my favourites in the original song with chief puddle. i’d definitely rather listen to his version

overall this is a 3/5 dashies! “It’s Good!” i like katy’s vocals, but they definitely come out better on other tracks, and i miss chief puddle.

[6) PJ Berri Jam] - Much Love To The Funny Bear That Make’s Me Smile.

title made me a lot more excited for this song than i ended up feeling about it... OBVIOUSLY NO INSULT TO PJ’S JAM BUT IT WOULD HAVE BEEN COOL TO HAVE A BEAT WITH ORIGINAL LYRICS instead of just lines from the one cutscene...

it’d have been cooler if it was longer too, but i understand why it wasn’t, because the instrumentals work best in this little snippet instead of long-term where they’d definitely require more lyrics

i like that it sounds like the Fire Fire! parappa version considering that’s his first stage! i don’t know if there’s any verification to this, but it makes me think that the beats for all of parappa’s songs in Um Jammer Lammy are made by PJ, which is just really nice to think about... he’s so skilled ;_; PJ and parappa’s iconic collabs...

i don’t know how to rate this at all, but for the headcanon it gave me, i’m giving it a 4/5 dashies! “Really Good!”

[7) BIRTH SONG] - i wouldn’t play for someone else

EXTREMELY FUNNY NAME

i think i like the choir vocals of the song in the cutscenes, but i definitely love katy’s voice in this one, it sounds really sweet

i can’t remove it from the weirdness of the scenario (the first time i saw that shit i was so goddamn baffled) but this does actually Make It Sweet!

i love how her voice sounds in the chorus, and the last line (“Our newest little baby!”) sounds really nice in her voice!!

IDK EXACTLY HOW TO DESCRIBE IT... her vocals just seem... sweetly genuine? like not that she’s really invested in what she’s saying, but just that she’s really enjoying singing it in a small and cute way? IDK... EITHER WAY i like it!

i like the additional lyrics as well! extensions to parappa/ujl songs should always be welcomed i think.

overall i rate this a 3.5/5 dashies! “Pretty Good!” weird song made fun and sweet by katy kat, thank you so much!

[8) THEME OF RAMMY] - music that makes you cause problems

yesssss YESSSSSSS YESSSSSSSSSS

WHEN I GOT TO THIS TRACK IT BECAME ONE OF MY NEW FAVOURITES OF THE WHOLE GAME!

i love the ditzy yet cool lull of the electric guitar, it sounds playful and silly, but with the aesthetic of the instruments used in the song it sounds awesome at the same time.

the strings throughout the song following the rhythm of that guitar add a slight classical feel to it as well that i really like, a level of elegance in contrast to the next part i describe

the muffled and staticy electric guitar parts sound so discordant, yet perfectly in control at the same time, and very In-Your-Face as they just come and go at random over the base sillysong. i really really like that, and it shows off Rammy’s fiery attitude!

i really love how the violent clash of the instruments seems to come together so well in this. it is a really well-made song that made me like Rammy more than i did previously. i think people who know me well will understand that i really like strings in otherwise intense songs, like violins and stuff, so i was really happy to hear some!

FULLY HONESTLY, MY ONLY WISH? is that it was longer. LOL

as an aside, the lull i described reminds me way too much of the theme for sam and max’s office in the TTG series. which obviously is a very personal reason to like the song more, but it is a reason for me NoneTheLess.

overall this gets a 5/5 dashies! “Amazing!”

ALSO THIS SONG BELONGS TO SANDY CHEEKS.

katy kat’s voice fits this song EXTREMELY SURPRISINGLY WELL! i like that she puts on the accent and everything, the rhythm of the lyrics and her enthusiasm go together so NICE!

i like the expansion of the lyrics and the repetition of it is one of its strengths, like any song of that kind (hopefully)

it’s a really big earworm for me, and every so often ill just sing out “Where’s that place that comes in pairs whenever I’m aware? Casino here, casino there, casino in my hair!” VERY SIMPLE YET VERY CATCHY

Yee Haw!

overall i rate this a 4.5/5 dashies! “Super Cool!” it couldn’t be better, but i wouldn’t say it’s one of the best, just for the sheer quality of the other songs i’ve given 5/5 to so far

SIDENOTE - [10) Radio Signal Jam] - F*ck you

OK. i like the presentation of this as if it’s playing live on a radio. it’s a nice little additional flavour to the whole thing that i enjoy immensely. HOWEVER.

nothing can match my disappointment at the next song not being Master Onion’s song. My heart will forever be broken by this traitorous deception. I was promised Tamanegi Sensei. Where is he! WHERE IS HE!!! WAS HE TO BUSY GAMBLING?? COME BACK I LOVE YOU

O-K let’s move on

[11) TASTE OF TERIYAKI] - songs that have mood swings

this song baffles me. i definitely get what they were trying to do with the intro portions with the dramatic quiet, the focus on the vocals and guitar with the creeping and echoing drums and reverberating electronic sounds

it could’ve been really cool, but for the most part it frankly sounds sh*t.

if they could’ve gotten some line re-dos from Teriyaki’s singer to match the lower tempo, it definitely would have sounded most excellent. But the use of the lyrics from the high-tempo song here is just jarring. when i showed this to my brother he genuinely just started laughing from how bad it sounded.

BUT HERE’S WHERE I CAN’T JUST RULE IT AS A BAD SONG.

THE SUDDEN SHIFT INTO THE HIGH TEMPO. IT IS BEAUTIFUL. IT ADDS SO MUCH EXTRA POWER TO THE CHORUS OF THE SONG. i like the song more with the brass and the backup singers, but this genuinely sounds so goddamn cool.

i LOVE the additional lines from teriyaki, it makes them sound even more like an idol! they sound amazing!

And then it stops. Back to the slow nonsense. I am left to dream of what could’ve been. i will say this one sounds better than the other one. Possibly because it’s shorter.

AND THEN THE AWESOME SONG COMES BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AND I’M LIKE YEAH WOO!!!!! i love the additional discordant sounds in this version, and i like that they did sometimes include the cool SHHH-PSHHH slap-ish sound in the chorus for this portion. the da da da DA DA! being with guitars instead of brass used to disappoint me, but the more i hear it here, the more i like it.

and then my favourite part of the song: the backup vocals combined with a fast rattling-off of teriyaki’s vocal lines from parappa’s version. this sounds godlike. This is the best. I roll around in circles listening to and thinking about this part. the fact that it fades out right as it gets to that breaks my heart into little pieces.

and then it’s over...

i think it’s very fitting that the song that takes over the album out of nowhere and is literally from hell is the most baffling and loved/hated by me. i don’t think i’ve ever been able to truly say that i both love and hate a song.

if someone was good enough at editing to combine this with the actual version of the song, as well as the vocal lines from parappa’s version, into an essentially extended cut of the album version without the weird slow parts, i would be forever indebted to them.

overall i rate this a ???/5 dashies. ”Help!” it flipflops way too much for me to give a number. Thank you Teriyaki Yoko.

[12) POWER OFF! POWER ON!] - HYYYYYYPE

i need to say it. this song has the coolest sounds in the entire game. this is one of the songs that i might abruptly decide is my favourite for a day or so and then go back to Fire Fire! or Taste of Teriyaki (game version). the guitar is most exquisite in this song.

my little brother adores this song, and a big part of that is credited to the silly vocals of Paul Chuck. he’s like Goofy but extra lethal. i love him

ANYWAYS. after Fire Fire! i was concerned that this song’s vocals would be replaced entirely by Katy, but it seems like they understood Paul Chuck’s integral nature to the charm of the song, and so we get a back-and-forth of them both singing lines, with lammy playing in between. it sounds REALLY good!

i like the additional lines by Chuck at the beginning during the intro. they’re a nice little bonus for the three Paul Chuck fans that exist (two being me and my brother)

as always, gotta love katy kat’s vocals!! they definitely benefit from being combined with the vocals of the original song. the chorus parts where they both sing in unison sound AWESOME!!! i wonder if the Fire Fire! cover would have benefited from this alternation....

the filter over the “NEVER USE JOE CHIN’S CHAIN’S FOR THEM!” really adds to it as well! i like that addition.

by the way my favourite line from this song is the “All I wanna hear is you’ve come over here, there’s no fooling around with gears!” it just has such a good flow. not really explicitly related to this version specifically, maybe less so since i prefer it with Chuck’s voice over Katy’s, but yeah.

this song is really hard for me in-game. like, more than any other song i think, apart from Taste of Teriyaki. which i would like to thank this song for allowing me to escape from (-=

this gets a 5/5 Dashies and a “DA-HYUCK!” from me!

[13) WE ARE MILKCAN!!] - Woaah My Head Is Spinning!

another original that only plays during the cutscenes, understandably without the vocals. i liked it then, and i like it even more now!

katy’s lyrics add SO SO MUCH to the high-tempo intensity of the introduction to this song, and the chaos of the entire thing makes it really fun to listen to

i do still enjoy the slower parts of this song! i can imagine katy singing this as the events she describe happen in real time. i really like listening to her try to encourage lammy and ma-san to get it together and play with her.

the bouncing between the full music of her lines contrasting with the quiet and dinky replies of ma-san and lammy makes this track really fun to listen to!

after that part, it goes back to sounding like the intro portion again, but increases in tempo drastically overtime, before suddenly slowing down again and then launching into high speed at random. it’s a really fun and theatrical and dramatic piece to listen to!!!

personally though, it’s not so much my thing based on the sound alone. it’s definitely a great song but i like things a little more relaxed and orderly than this. the quality of it comes from the lyrics and the emotions they manage to carry through with the instrumentals. its a really good glimpse into the nature and personality of MilkCan!

i give this song a 4/5! “Really Good!” there’s nothing i’d suggest to improve this song. it’s just a little to hectic for me, and feels more like music for a theatrical play than any other track. i generally don’t like that kind of stuff (altho there’s definitely exceptions)

SIDENOTE - [14) Jam Chin] - F*ck you eggplant head saunaman.

You disrespected Parappa. You disrespected Sunny Funny and her sweet smile. You have disrespected MilkCan.

[15) GOT TO MOVE! (Millennium Girl)

the final song... i knew it would be Got To Move... it makes COSMIC sense

i like the additional little part before the song begins giving some time to breathe in before my head starts screaming in excitement at this song.

this is an AMAZING song and another one of my little brother’s favourites! he likes to sing it! it’s not one of my favourites but it’s definitely revered with me. it’s a sheer quality song and the one that best captures the soul of MilkCan!!

and i have to say. this album version made me like it EVEN MORE. at first i was enjoying the regular song, but then in the second part PARAPPA comes in with the alternate lines from his version in-between Katy Kat’s lines. it is SO SO SO cool. i often think about how songs in the game would sound with parappa’s versions incorporated in some fashion like this and it comes out so EPIC!!

it seriously made me pog SO hard when i heard him coming in. SOOOO exciting!

some thought notes about this song:

i really like the guitar during the portion leading up to the chorus, it sounds really cool.

katy’s singing in the chorus itself is the best of ALL her singing! her voice blends perfectly with the tone, the pitch shifts, the vibes... angellic truly

parappa‘s lyrics in-between add such an awesome additional energy, especially the lyrics that go on a little longer, like “But let me give you a word of advice, it seems like a waste of time, but it’s nice!” those lines shine the most to me.

my other favourite part is the rapid backforth in the later part of the chorus, especially the “GO! ON! MOVE! ON!” between katy’s lines. it goes together IMPECCABLY

it should be obvious, but this song gets a 5/5 Dashies from me! “Amazing!” it truly blew me away, just like the 5/5 Dashie portions of Taste of Teriyaki did. i love the fact that Parappa’s lines are slightly more muted and behind a bit of a filter to make sure the focus is on Katy’s iconic lines, but are clear enough to be enjoyed.

Mizar doesn't exist in heavy Quarantine. Mabel prefers not to get involved, aside from helping children Dipper will bring back. She never makes a name for herself, at least not one associated with Alcor, and the Woodsman wouldn't exist either. Twin Souls wouldn't exist, and many thing like RRR or SYWTBAD would never happen. Dipper is almost always in a 12 year old form, and his alias, Alcor, was something he had come up with while held in the basement, as a way of giving up.

YO GET READY FOR A LONG-ASS POST

Goshhhhh I could so easily see this being the case? Especially if you don’t consider Dipper to ever really make a recovery (like in this post’s version of events). If he’s forever trapped in that “more demon than human” state, if his mind is too broken to make a full recovery, then absolutely.

Mizar doesn’t exist because going with Dipper to enact vigilante justice isn’t really an option. Dipper is too rogue to be good at that kind of thing, and to be honest, in this version, there’s a part of Mabel that screams at her that she can’t trust Dipper not to let her get hurt. It’s not like in main TAU where the two of them knew from the start that they wanted to use Dipper’s newfound magical powers to go around helping people. Here, Mabel gets reunited with a crazed brother who seems to care more about hurting bad guys than helping innocent people, and that makes her very uncomfortable. She’ll help the children he brings back, but to be actually involved with the action is quite a different matter.

And yeah, the non-existence of Mizar has quite a ripple effect on the rest of Dipper’s future. Twin Souls wouldn’t exist because why would it – Alcor’s never been seen with a mysterious female companion. He doesn’t even have the playfulness he exhibits a lot at summons in main TAU, when he decides to mess with people by showing up at summons playing a sousaphone or carrying children. There’s much less of a reason for anyone to see anything good in him at all when all he is known for is murderdeath (although as we know from the real world, that doesn’t really stop people from loving those kinds of people…). RRR wouldn’t happen because, even if he ends up owning Mabel’s soul, he wouldn’t necessarily care too much about growing up with it again. Even if he did, I doubt it would go very well. He could end up stuck in a very childlike state even in his facsimile human body. (Orrrr it could even be bigger angst if you look at it from a nature vs nuture viewpoint and say that Dipper Sterling is pretty human, and that once he breaks apart and becomes Alcor again all of that is lost and his family is heartbroken).

There are so many other Mizar arcs too that just wouldn’t happen. He’d have a lot of other ways to entertain himself over the years, especially if he’s more comfortable with letting his demonic nature loose than he is in main TAU. And SYWTBAD wouldn’t happen because he’s just not whimsical in this timeline. He doesn’t think “oh it’d be fun to make a bunch of friends and graduate from school.” He wouldn’t already be friends with Lucy Ann, so no one would’ve been there to dare him to do it anyway. And yeah, the Woodsman wouldn’t exist. Why would he? Willow didn’t survive being born, so there was no one who needed saving in Caney Patch that day. T_T

And finally yesssssss “almost always in his 12 year old form” is suuuuper angsty and I think entirely appropriate, because it represents how he doesn’t feel like an adult. That’s a rather human concept, anyway, adulthood and maturity, and there’s not too much humanity left in him. He’s got the odd flight of empathy for children and Mabel, but he doesn’t truly feel it. If he ever takes on an adult form, it’d be only because he thinks it’ll help him con a summoner better. Naming himself Alcor while his mind is dissolving is also BIG ANGST. It comes at the point at which he knows he’s never getting out of there, when he knows Ford won’t trust him or believe him and even worse when he’s cognizant enough to realize that something’s happening to his mind, it’s deteriorating and he doesn’t know why and he’s scared. He thinks he’s dying, and in a way, he’s right.

All that being said, my hc is that Dipper is able to recover in heavy Quarantine. It’s a long and difficult road, but Mabel and Henry and Stan (especially Mabel) are able to regain his trust. They’re able to show him that it’s safe to be a person, that he’s still Dipper underneath it all, and moreover that he can regain all the love and humanity he lost. And in this version of events, I think things turn out very differently.

Mizar and cultbashing look very different here than in main TAU, but I still think they’d happen after a while. There’s just so much injustice in the world and so many cultists trying to do bad things. I hc that Mabel still gets into boxing and working out in this timeline even before she finds Dipper, so it wouldn’t be like she’s entirely unprepared to go cultbashing with him. He definitely wouldn’t want to do it at first but as he gains more access to his empathy again I think it’d be hard for him not to. There’d be a lot of close calls, and sometimes they’d face something that would set Dipper back a lot (a mean cultist with a binding circle that feels just a bit too tight around his neck) and it’d be another long night with him in his 12 year old form rocking back and forth and Mabel comforting him but not hugging him because when he gets like that he can’t stand to feel constricted.

Speaking of his 12 year old form, I really love the idea that he looks like a 12 year old when Mabel finds him. He’s had no template (Mabel) to age himself up with, and moreover he’s had no reason to change how he looks. He’s just trying to get himself out of this prison he’s been trapped in and as time goes on he cares less and less about his appearance. I hc that his demonic puberty coincidentally happens at the same time as his mind starting to deteriorate, and that Ford takes this as a sign that he was right and that this demon’s masquerade is falling. The awesome @diddlydarndoodles drew newly freed heavy Quarantine Dipper as having blackened hands/claws and his forearms having brickwork markings on them, like he’s a little bit into his void form, and I love this. He’s still Dipper, he’s still recognizably Dipper, but he’s so injured that he’s even starting to forget how to maintain his appearance. And it’s so horrifyingly angsty for Mabel to find him this way when she does. How he looks is a representation of his state of mind and it just goes to show both how small he feels and how injured his mind is. So to me, him starting to take on a more adult look as he makes strides in his recovery is massive. It represents him actually being able to feel like an adult, which, for someone as traumatized as him, speaks volumes and I love it so much.

Twin Souls would be different, considering how Alcor, in many early appearances, looks like a child whereas Mizar looks like an adult. I hope and pray that it would be less of a popular thing, if it exists at all, than in main TAU. The Woodsman might exist, because Willow survives in this version, but Dipper isn’t as involved in the triplets’ early lives (because he’s still recovering, still easily overwhelmed, and until he’s recovered enough to go out and about I’d say any time he spends with the triplets is supervised so that both he and them are safe), and because of this, there might be fewer pro-nats trying to take out the Pines family. Thus, the Caney Patch Massacre might not even happen. If it does, the Woodsman might happen (and I’m sure that would be a Huge setback for Dipper because now he’s scared of what he’s done to Henry), or it might not and everyone would just get a taste of how truly frightening and vicious this poor traumatized demon Dipper can be when his family is threatened.

SYWTBAD could still happen, especially because after he recovers, Dipper is pretty sad about all the stuff he wanted to do as a human and not only never got to do, but never even got to watch Mabel do. Lucy Ann might still dare him to go to college as a demonologist, and he might still do it and just be a lot meeker. He could still make friends, but gosh I think the whole scene with him and Elisabeth and Thomas getting kidnapped would go a lot worse. And finally, RRR? That would totally happen and I think it would be beautiful. He’d again be a much meeker child, but he’d finally get to have an upbringing where he feels safe and loved. I want all the happy endings for this sweet, hurt child.

15. What’s a question you constantly get asked?

That would be either “Are you okay?” or “Are you mad?” or some variation. The reason is because I’m one of those people who apparently looks angry when she thinks, and I think all the time. So there are people who genuinely ask me if I’m okay, and I just say “I’m thinking.” My family will ask me if I’m mad or just thinking.

18. Rant about your favourite musician.

First of all, that means I gotta pick one which is hard because my music tastes feel like they’re all over the place. So I’m gonna go with Skillet to rant about. I love rock, and this is as heavy as this rock is gonna get for me. But man do they ROCK! Dude. There is nothing like putting on Skillet and making my speakers go boom. And when they use the electric violin in some of their songs? Yesssssss. These are two of my MANY favourites of theirs (and this was hard to pick too): this one and this one.

32. How old do you get mistaken for?

I’m in my late 20s. When I was teaching high school, I got mistaken for a teenager all the time. Now, I get mistaken for like a 22 year old. At least, that’s the number I got when someone tried to guess how old I was. 😂

Wakana in Concert with the Roma Italia Symphony Orchestra – Live Report

Okay, here’s my report. This time I didn’t want to wait too long since I was scared I would forget all about the details. Without further ado, let’s get to it.

First of all I wanna say one thing: WOW! Just WOW! This was a PERFECT live. I will be honest, I had my doubts when I first heard that this concert wasn’t just about Wakana. When they announced that Ryu Masaki would be joining I was quite bummed and felt a little cheated. Then Wakana announced in her latest blogpost that Mana Ogawa would be joining the live too and I was like “eh?? Why are you doing this to me? I thought this was a Wakana concert and not an ensemble live!!“ Turns out I needn’t have worried. While Ryu Masaki got to sing a handful of songs this was most definitely Wakana’s show (I actually feel kind abad for Ryu Masaki fans who attended the live). And Mana Ogawa was more of a backup singer to be honest (and she only appeared during two songs).

Overall thoughts on Wakana’s vocals: Flawless. For me she was honestly flawless. Yes, her breathing was still there and quite noticeable at that but that’s just part of her charm I think. Fans love her breathing and I think YK likes it too or she wouldn’t keep it in the studio recordings. But aside from that Wakana really slayed. She has never sounded better in my opinion. The arrangments were slowed down quite a bit so she never was out of breath and she got the chance to really hold her notes. Her voice was so strong and pure and perfect and she hit pretty much each and every note (even during believe which has never happened as far as I can remember!). She didn’t use her airy/flimsy/breathy voice once. At times she was a bit quiet compared to the orchestra but I only really noticed it in one song and even there it wasn't too bad (Jupiter). Not sure if the orcestra was just super loud here or if Wakana wasn’t feeling confident with a new song but at any rate, she got used to it suoe quickly and then she slayed. Wakana was BORN to sing like this, with dramatic orchestral arrangements. She didn’t strain her voice once and even though she sang quite a lot of songs in a row she didn’t seem to sweat at all. She obviously had a lot of fun and you could tell that she was well-rested. I am so glad she got to take a break. It was such a pleasure to see her this refreshed and happy. Now let’s start with the live itself

First Half

01. Nuovo Cinema Paradiso Theme This was an instrumental piece and it perfectly showcased the skills of the orchestra. I had never heard of this piece before (apparently it’s from an Italian movie by famous composer Ennio Morricone) but I immediately fell in love with it. Check out this version on youtube, it’s pretty much the same arrangement that was played during the concert with the violin in the lead). Very lovely and the orchestra already conveyed an epic feeling. I couldn’t wait to hear it in combination with Wakana’s voice. After this overture Wakana came on stage. She looked absolutely gorgeous wearing a white strapless dress with black glittery details in the waist area. The material and cut were more or less the same as the second dress which she changed into in the second half of the live (the white one had a tighter/sexier fit though). The picture below doesn’t do justice to Wakana’s actual dress. Wakana’s dress had a bigger bustier part and made her boobs look huge XD The black details didn't span such a big area on Wakana’s dress, it really was mostly concentrated on the waist area. While this looks like lace, it was definitely not lacey on Wakana’s dress, it was beaded. Sorry, I can’t explain it better.

02. Oblivious They changed the arrangement a lot for this one. They left out the ahhhhhh parts (why?? that would have sounded awesome and Wakana would have ruled!) and they slowed the song down quite a bit. Wakana had three (or was it four?) chorus singers supporting her during certain parts to make the song feel more epic (and to replace Keiko’s parts). On this note I wanna say that the back-up singers did an amazing job, they didn’t intervene too much (the focus was 100% on Wakana’s voice) but they definitely elevated the performance. I think out of all songs this might have been my least favourite performance. Simply because it didn’t feel like the new arrangement made the song any better. The oomph factor was missing and it seemed like the orchestra didn't have much to do. But still, Wakana rocked the stage! Overall, one of my least favourite performances that night.

03. Kimi ga Hikari ni Kaete Iku My dreams have come true. I have been to heaven and come back. This was perfection. UTTER PERFECTION. I have honestly no words to describe it. All I know is that I can die happy now. There were no supporting singers for this one here. Just Wakana and the orchestra. It was more or less the acoustic arrangement from the re/oblivious single but better. I never liked the first half of that song because the chorus felt anti-climactic (do I make sense?) but here she sang the first half just like the second half. The strings in this one killed me. So utterly gorgeous (comparable to the Christmas Live version but so much more epic and grande! Just check out the X-Mas version and fast forward to the “mezameta asa...” line and you will know what I am talking about) And Wakana’s voice was just so rich and beautiful, I couldn’t stop crying the entire time. THANK YOU SO MUCH WAKANA FOR SINGING THIS SONG!

04. Kizuato I have never been a huge fan of this song but the orchestral arrangement made it so much better in my opinion. Especially towards the end I had goosepumps because the song just kept building up. Here Wakana was supported by back-up singers again. It’s funny how they used a male singer to replace some of Keiko’s parts XD. Also, I don’t know how to explain it. The back-up singers didn’t sing all the Hikaru/Keiko parts, they just added a bit of flare here and there. For the most part, the arrangement was changed so that Wakana was able to sing all the parts. Oh, I forgot to mention, poor Wakana forgot her lines during the second verse, there was an awkward silence for two seconds or something but then she caught on quickly and dealt with it professionally. I think it must have been one of Keiko’s lines.

Ryu Masaki Part I will say that she really amazed me. I listened to a couple of her songs before the live so I kinda knew what to expect but still, she is an amazing singer! My Heart will Go on and I don’t Wanna Miss a Thing are two of my all time favourite movie tracks and she sang them so freaking well. And then there was Shadowland from the Lion King musical. So beautiful! I didn’t know the other songs but she pretty much gained a new fan this night. Great performer!!

Second Half

05. Jupiter After Ryu Masaki had sung six songs in total there was a 20 minute break. Then Wakana appeared on stage again wearing the blue dress we have all seen on the pictures. And along with her came Mana Ogawa in the cutest pink dress ever. Together they performed one of my most loved non-Kalafina songs. Jupiter! This is originally a classical piece by Gustav Holst but Ayaka Hirahara made a song out of it. Wakana and Mana’s version wasn’t quite as epic as Ayaka’s but it is SUPER hard to reach that level of epicness. Also, I felt like in this song the voices got a bit drowned by the orchestra but only at certain times. It wasn’t bad or anything but it wasn’t perfect either. Wakana slayed throughout the entire song though. It’s HARD to sing an Ayaka Hirahara song but she nailed it. She kinda adapted Ayaka’s singing style (in a similar fashion that Keiko adapted Ayaka’s style during their performance of Kawaii Hana). I can’t really explain what’s so special about Ayaka’s singing style, she has that way of belting her lines and making her voice vibrate (ughhh, I wish had better words for it). Anyways, Wakana did a great job at using certain elements of that style and incorporated them in her own style. The result: a pretty epic sounding Wakana. On a side note, OMG, Mana was so good too. I had no idea she was so skilled. Her voice went together so well with Wakana’s. They complemented each other in a great way.

06. Mizu no Akashi YESSSSSSS!!!!!! This is THE Wakana song! I am so freaking glad she decided to sing it. Mana joined her for this one too but she mostly did back-up singing (so nice!!) and sang a few lines. Mana harmonises so well with Wakana, it was a lovely combination. I don’t know what else to say about it. They stayed true to the original arrangment but of course they added a little oomph here and there. More strings can never hurt, right? Once again, tears everywhere. I feel like Wakana got a bit teary-eyed too for a moment but I could be wrong. I was sitting quite far away from the stage.

07. Hokage Ahhhhhhh! You probably know that I LOVE LOVE LOVE this song. I know most people don’t care for it but it is actually my favourite song on the far on the water album. And wow, they used the chorus singers in a nice way here. In the beginning, they were chanting and creating the melody with their voices. So pretty!! This song already has a gorgeous strings arrangement but once again, the added instruments made everything SO MUCH BETTER.

08. Natsu no Asa Out of all Kalafina summer songs I didn’t expect Wakana to sing this particular song but wow, I am glad she did. The first part was sung completely acaplla. Once again the back-up singers did an amazing job creating the melody. Kinda reminiscent of FictionJunction’s silent moon. In the second half of the song, the orchestra joined in and this honestly became one of the most beautiful songs of the evening. The atmosphere was perfect and the song really fits the current season. So lovely!!

09. Ashita no Keshiki Obviously I already knew this was going to be performed so it wasn’t really a surprise like all the other songs. But hey, that didn’t diminish my enjoyment of the performance one bit. Wakana sounded solid in the 9+ONE version but here she was just flawless. The kajiurago part was sung beautifully by the chorus people and all the whle Wakana was making eye-contact with as many people in the audience as possible. Her smile was blinding. This was probably one of the more reserved performances of the night where the orchestra didn’t get so much to do but still, very lovely

10. I Have a Dream If you loved their Blue Day performance then you would have loved this version even more. The strings were just so gorgeous. The Blue Day version already has a very lovely and elaborate strings arrangement that’s different to the original version but here they added a lot more grandness to it. One of my faves from this night. Utterly perfect! In the MC before the song Wakana talked about how this song is very reminiscent of a refreshing summer wind.

11. Believe I have never understood the hate that this song gets. Quite frankly I really like it and I have always been a fan of the strings in this one. I am such a sucker for the strings in the beginning and at the end. And boy, let me tell you, they really upped the ante, the strings in this version were SOOO EPIC (especially at the end)!!! It was like listening to a majestic symphonic piece. Probably my favourite orchestral arrangement of the evening. And Wakana didn’t struggle at all even though she sang literally all the parts by herself. I feel like she always struggles during this song, she also struggled quite a bit during the 9+ONE version even though that also had an acoustic arrangment (which is the reason I couldn’t enjoy it 100%) but here she knocked it out of the park. Absolutely stunning. One of my favourite performance of the night

12. Hikari no Yukue Like Mizu no Akashi I had hoped this song would make it into the setlist and YES, here it was!! I mean, if there is one song that needs to be performed by an orchestra then it is THIS ONE! And boy, this definitely didn’t disappoint. No words for the epicness of this performance.

13. Yume no Daichi While it is not my favourite RHH song, I think it was perfect for Wakana’s concert tonight. And once again, the new arrangement added so much to the song. From now on all Kalafina songs should be performed by an orchestra :P This is probably the song where I missed Keiko the most (don’t know why).

14. Musunde Hiraku She thanked the fans for always supporting her and having her back. Without us she couldn't have made it this far. This song was meant to convey her gratitude for us. Probably the most upbeat and lighthearted performance of the night. Wakana is so obviously in love with this song (check out my translation of the fotw Special Final MCs to find out her thoughts about it). Her love was strongly conveyed in this performance. She was walking back and forth on stage, waving to everyone in the audiece, showing us her radiant smile. Perfection!!

This was the last song and everyone began clapping for an encore but instead of Wakana, Ryu Masaki came back on stage to perform her final song (another solid performance!). And THEN it was time for Wakana to return! (((o(*ﾟ▽ﾟ*)o))) She thanked everyone for coming and then she announced her very first solo tour. She was all like, “you probably all wonder when it is gonna take place. Maybe next year? Nope, next MONTH actually! XD“ Then she said that her FINAL song was written by herself. She came up with the lyrics and she admitted that it was very hard. The song is called Toki wo Koeru Yoru ni which loosely translates to On a Night that Transcends Time. By the way, this also relates to the title of her upcoming tour -Toki wo Koeru/Transcending Time-

15. Toki wo Koeru Yoru ni A GORGEOUS ballad if there ever was one. My memory is already fading but I definitely loved it. I suck at understanding lyrics so I can’t tell you what the song was actually about but believe me when I say it was beautiful. It felt like an old-school ballad, something from the 90s maybe. I wish I knew how to explain it better but I can’t. Wakana actually got a standing ovation afterwards (although there were some people who refused to stand up *grumbles*).

Okay, that’s a wrap for me tonight. I can’t think straight any longer. Too tired. All in all I will say that this concert was worth EVERY penny I spent on this trip. Along with the Hikaru Birthday Event and all my trips to different places this was the BEST holiday ever. I didn’t see any cameras so I doubt there will be a DVD/BD release for this but maybe, just maybe they recorded the audio of this live. I would buy that CD in a heartbeat. Personally I think they did a great job arranging the songs in a way they are suited for a solo performer. I wonder who actually did the orchestral arrangements because damn, they were SO GOOD!!! In some cases the back-up singers provided the necessary support and in other cases the orchestra provided the different melodies that are usually sung by Hikaru/Keiko. All songs felt wholesome, I didn’t feel like anything was missing and Wakana slayed throughout the concert. She shone brigther than a star and while she was a bit awkward during the MCs she was incredibly strong and confident during her live performances.

Pokémon White Randomized Nuzlocke Run [Part 2]

Here we are in Part 2, where I have maybe learned a thing about how to keep these from being dreadfully boring. Part 1 saw us defeat the first Gym, as well as my dawning sadness about the HM state of my available pokemon.

Now we move into the Badge 2 phase of the game.

Breathing Pokemon:

Boeing (Latios)

Frogger (Seismitoad)

Timon (Tepig)

I think I will be ignoring the Cut problem until I absolutely can’t, which will be in about five minutes.

I don’t know why I didn’t walk left earlier, but I didn’t. Is there grass here? Can I catch something? My team is basically just Timon and Frogger. I love Boeing, but he is not made for this rough life. He likes relaxing and eating. Not fighting.

And the answer is that the Professor’s scientist friend has supplied a plot barrier. Sigh.

Welp.

....

I can’t even pretend to be surprised. Dang it, Boeing.

I don’t want to use anything outside the confines of the challenge if I can help it. The idea is not, “win all the fights” under these conditions, it’s beating the game.

Congratulations, Boeing.

You’re temporarily useful.

Grass! Beautiful grass!

Also Team Plasma.

Cut is so much more useful than Psywave and I am very sad.

Team Plasma dealt with, obligatory plot detail I wasn’t paying attention to dealt with, we are now free to pursue the grass.

Or will the grass pursue us.

I can’t remember how Tangela evolves normally, or how it evolves given the settings of the run, but I do think that Tangela probably could have learned Cut just fine, and I can’t remember if the Move Deleter costs anything, or even where it is in this version.

But that’s only a concern if I catch a thing that can learn Cut. Let’s do this, Boeing.

Sleep Powder is hypothetically useful. I don’t think it has ever hit when I try to use it.

Two Poke Balls and nothing. I think I am going to sacrifice the Great Ball some random NPC gave me.

Victory!

Good job, Boeing. See, isn’t life more fun when you’re useful?

You know, I don’t normally nickname my pokemon. They just keep the same name every edition of them in the wild has, and that’s perfectly fine with me.

Your name shall be... Grape.

Because look at all those vines writhing... writhe... wrath? Grapes!

Such thought. Much wow.

I think it’s time for healing and grinding.

Oh, but first, Grape! Let us find something out about you.

He is Brave and quick to flee. His Speed suggests that he isn’t that great at fleeing.

Other pokemon we could have gotten from the HM grass spot of doom include Sudowoodo and Beedrill. Tangela looks to be rarest of the set, so I suppose we can add lucky to Grape’s list of traits. There’s a Potion and a Parlyz Heal lying about that I go grab, and until the plot brings us back later (probably sometime after we get Strength), this area is just going to be a grind station.

Until I get bored after about three minutes and want to go back to exploring. I’m not sure I’m made for a Nuzlocke.

...Why is Constrict a move? It’s about as useful as Splash, only with the false hope of being capable of dealing damage.

Yeah, I don’t have the patience for this. I’m going to go left again and see what there is now that the plot isn’t keeping me trapped. ...Only after I talk to Fennel again. Apparently just letting her collect the whatever thing is not enough, I have to listen to her discoveries.

I do not. Button mashing away, we now have our C-Gear and Pal Pad. I think the first of those will end up having uses. I mostly remember all these different event skins being available for the gear.

Now I should be able to go.

Ha. I have conquered the plot barrier.

Since this is a separate section from the garden area, I think once I have some kind of rod or Surf I can come back and nab something from the water. ...I wonder if grass vs water even matters in a randomized run. Are they all completely random, or random within water? I should know these things.

My guess would be completely random. I cite the level 4 Salamence on Route 2. But either way, something to come back to.

It looks like battling is going to happen before finding out what pokemon belong to this route. In the interest of learning how to do this better bit by bit, I think I’ll limit capping battles unless something truly ridiculous happens. This early in the game there shouldn’t be much tension.

I will probably keep track of how many times Psywave misses if I use it, though. That obviously falls into the realm of Importance.

I will also say that Lillipups continue to be terrifying. And that I am so temporarily glad that Boeing knows Cut. Consistent damage. That hits.

I can’t believe this game encourages taking preschoolers’ pocket money. I know I’m only ten, but wow.

Ah, but the nice thing about beating up preschoolers (’ pokemon) is that they have a teacher around very used to healing pokemon up. Walking back to centers to heal is one of the not so fun aspects of

Whoops.

So it’s a good thing I only did grinding, because I clicked the load file option instead of the save file when I was trying to save. Good grief. I am become error. Will return momentarily. With one fresh water short, because I was stupid and a Beedrill almost murdered Timon. Also Timon now knows Flame Charge.

Okay.

Back to making forward progress, hopefully.

Let me go in the grass, Cheren. You’re supposed to be one of my two best friends. The fact that I had to be reminded by a professor whose name I also couldn’t be counted on to remember myself does not take away from our friendly bonds.

There really are a lot of non-NPC duels at the start of this version.

Okay, let’s go squad.

Boeing and Timon do a good job taking down his Meganium. I think I’ll let Frogger take the Purrloin. As the one on the team who did not need grinding, he hasn’t been used in a bit.

And that’s that. Cheren is sad/frustrated because we have the same number of badges, his starter is fully evolved and useful, and yet he still can’t win. Of course he can’t; the run would be over if he did.

But before we can celebrate and get into the grass, the plot arrives.

Team Plasma please. At least I have the option of going into the grass before getting the little girl’s pokemon back. Which I will take.

Let’s see what we get!

...Another thing that doesn’t need my help to evolve. Sigh.

As ever, that only gets a chance to annoy me if I catch it, so time to see how that train goes. I’m going to try throwing my only Great Ball. Psywave got it into the red, so...

Awesome! Based on videos I have seen recently most people aren’t that lucky when it comes to catching these things. Now I can sulk about having a fully evolved team (except for the treasured Timon) in peace.

What the heck do I name you, though? You’re a dinobird... Oh, I know. I’ll call you Ptera. Welcome to the team, Ptera. Let’s check you out.

He has a Mild nature, and he’s proud of his power. I feel like that Defense is going to end up making me cry, and I don’t think you’re a Special Attacker, so the Nature is pretty much all flavor. It’s nice to have something that can Fly; hopefully he’ll be around to use it.

...Oh geez, that Ability. Ptera Ptera Ptera... You are going to make me so sad.

The good news is he can kill his wild kin in one hit. So that’s convenient.

I’m sorry, what.

This is the exp grass now. Other finds include Octillery. Grape eats them for breakfast.

It knows Aurora Beam.

It got a critical hit.

Grape was only a few points off of full health.

There was no way to know.

This is really sad.

I am so sorry Grape. You were a valued member of the team. You were only with us a short while, but you knew Grass moves. You balanced everything out wonderfully.

The exp grass is a dangerous place.

Maybe if I had just gone after the little girl’s pokemon...

It’s too late.

Grape is a raisin.

In the process of going after Team Plasma, it looks like Chimecho might be replacing Audino in the rustling grass. Maybe once, maybe always. Who can say. That would take paying more attention when messing with the settings.

A place to find Grape’s replacement. It would have been where we’d finally have a team of six, but...

Oh hey we found something already.

Okay, I can roll with that.

......Surprise, Ptera is stronger than expected. I knew enough to use Wing Attack, not Rock Throw, but I guess Ptera is just that good. Filed away for future reference. No new pokemon. A fitting tribute to Grape’s absence. The slot may remain empty for a little longer.

We get some Heal Balls from the little girl, and those could actually really come in handy. Assuming I ever properly catch a new teammate again.

One battle against an NPC later, and I think it’s safe to say Ptera is the new Frogger. He is overpowered for this section of the game.

You know what wouldn’t be overpowered? A Slugma.

I forgot about the darker grass. Route 3′s has Minccino, Teddiursa, Quilava, and Emolga.

Boeing could you please just learn something good. Please.

Whenever I see an Octillery now I’m just going to be filled with so much hate. I will kill every one that comes across my path. Unless I screw up and it kills me again, which is an absolute possibility.

We’ve made it to the next Gym city. Normal type. That shouldn’t cause any particular problem, but I do remember this fight packing more of a punch than I was expecting the first time I played, so cue the grinding montage I’m not going to screencap.

As well as the exploring the town montage I’m not going to screencap.

One of the NPCs asked me what I started with, so like a fool, I said Snivy, since that’s what Boeing replaced.

Now I have a Miracle Seed. And nothing that knows Grass moves.

Grape casts a long shadow already.

New area means new pokemon. Ones I have no plans to murder, but might very well anyway.

I love Shroomish and Breloom. One of the best pokemon in any gen, and I would dearly love one to follow me on this journey.

Yesssssss.

Let’s see. How about Palm, because your design reminds me of a pomegranate.

Palm has a Calm nature, and is somewhat of a clown. I’m pretty sure that is not the combination I want, since Breloom is more of a physical attacker, but hopefully it won’t matter too much. Poison Heal is a useful Ability to have.

Other things we could have caught in Pinwheel Forest: Vileplume, Froslass, Klink, Clamperl, Bellossom, Glaceon, Ducklett, and Metagross.

Wow. That’s a nice collection.

Oh hey and this happened.

Timon is now a robust Pignite, and has a move that will be of great use in the Gym!

We’re just going through the forest and annihilating everyone, but I spared a moment to commemorate Palm’s moment.

Tympole confused him, and he still used Absorb twice in a row instead of hurting himself. Then he snapped out of confusion and won. Contrary Nature aside, I am liking our new addition very much.

Especially since the fight against the next Tympole followed the exact same script. Good job, Palm.

The rest of this is basically all grinding, which is fun for me since I don’t have to come up with something clever to say when nothing much is going on. That is one benefit of doing this in this format.

My usual rule of thumb for these games is ten levels per gym until that much grinding becomes unbearable. Everyone’s currently level 18 (Ptera’s 16 and trying to fix that almost resulted in a Glaceon murdering him), and I’m thinking I might have hit that point.

...Yeah, I definitely have. I’ll just hit the Gym and let Ptera nom some things. Boeing will probably have to sit this fight out, because as we all know, what Normal type really means is Lillipups that know Bite. Those are not things for Boeing to face.

It is amazing how many different patches of grass suddenly have pokemon when I’m trying to leave a place, good grief.

Hello, am I fighting you again already? Or are you just doing your mysterious thing?

No, yeah, we’re doing a battle. And he opens with a level 13 Pidove to my level 17 Ptera. I don’t think he’s going to win this one. N, of course. Ptera has it in the bag, because I think it’s fair to say I have overleveled myself.

Palm was continuing his great streak of not letting Tympoles make him hurt himself, but sadly he did hurt himself once in this fight. Still, not bad, and much better than I usually get saddled with.

Ptera fighting the Timburr might be an incredibly stupid idea. He can one-shot them, but if they get a Rock Throw crit, it will be bad. This has been learned from the Fighting trainers in the wild that I didn’t screencap.

Those guys were at level 16, though. N’s level 13 is nowhere near the same brand of problem, and Ptera cleans up.

Alright, that settled, can I enter the gym now?

I forgot about the museum in front. Lenora’s got good taste.

Another Fresh Water for me. This one I don’t plan on using up. I don’t think I’ll need to, based on N’s levels. I really overtrained for this whole badge, probably. But that’s okay. I don’t like worrying about my pokemon dying every fight. Steamrolling is fine too. The main fun with all of this is finding out what I’ll end up with and raising them.

Then the very first trainer has a level 17 Patrat.

I feel less silly in my decisions.

Followed by a level 17 Herdier.

This is where I would consider doing more grinding, except by the time I’ve decided to stop grinding, I am generally not going to start again for a while.

The trainer with more than one pokemon starts with a level 15 Lillipup, so the Gym Leader’s are probably around 17-20. That should be okay. I’m healing before I go forward anyway, and Ptera’s going to grow another level beforehand just by beating this last trainer.

I really like Lenora’s Gym. It’s educational and has a secret staircase. I don’t think you can ask for more (though if memory serves, some of these get pretty wild this version).

Heals, then fight. This should be fine.

I want this office.

Ready... FIGHT!

She’s opening with a level 18 Herdier with Intimidate. Sigh. I forgot that was an ability. That might make this a little more awkward than I want, but Ptera is still part Rock. If things are going to go wrong, they should go wrong slowly enough for me to switch.

Take Down with a Leer boost only does 12, so yeah, this should be okay.

She uses a Super Potion, it takes three of any of Ptera’s attacks to down it, but Ptera gets a crit, and it’s Watchdog time!

I remembered she had this one.

For the sake of safety, I’m going to let Timon and his super effective attack handle this one. I think the Watchdog likes to sleep things.

A level 20 Watchdog. Do not want. But I believe in you, Timon. Go for it.

Uh.

Huh.

Fuck?

That’s. Wow, okay.

Watchdog with Retaliate. Awesome.

I don’t trust Ptera’s Defense to withstand whatever comes next, so Frogger... please do not die. Please. I need you to be alive and useful, because I just lost one of the greatest helps to this run.

Of course it has Hypnosis.

It’s so red. So close.

Retaliate does 30 damage without the fainting teammate ahead of time, and now Frogger is asleep and in the red. He needs to get out of there now, but I think Pursuit could be one of Watchdog’s moves.

I have one Soda Pop. He’s asleep anyway, so I’m willing to try it.

Geez this is scary.

tfw Watchdog also has Crunch and now Frogger’s Defense is lowered.

He isn’t faster, I don’t think. Even if he wakes up...

Switched to Palm and now Palm’s asleep.

Switching back to Frogger.

Frogger takes two Crunches, needs a Fresh Water, the next Crunch is a critical hit, and Frogger is still asleep. I have two Super Potions, now one, and Frogger is still alive and still asleep.

What in the fuck.

I know the sleep counter gets reset if you pull it out, but come on.

He finally wakes up, and because Watchdog only needed one more hit, victory is achieved.

Not worth it.

Lenora I don’t like you anymore.

And before we can end this segment, Team Plasma attacks the museum. Yay, plot. Plot to distract from the pain. The horrible, sad, awful, pain.

I can’t even remember their excuse for stealing the skull. Was there one?

I don’t know and care even less.

So we are assigned to search for the thieves with Burgh, Castelia’s Gym Leader, while Cheren and Bianca stay at the museum. Bianca is playing Fennel’s gopher, so we now have Dowsing Machine (MCHN) we will never remember to use, but if you’ll excuse me, I have more important matters to attend to.

I know the screenshots don’t show it, but you did a great job. Nothing else would have survived the gym if you hadn’t made training in Pinwheel Forest so straightforward. You did good, Timon.

Next Gym gets grinding. No complaints.

- Loki stabbing people with his horns as well as his knife was badass and amazing

I did love how they used a similar helmet as the one in Agent of Asgard, and how it implied stuff. I also loved his clothes towards the beginning of the movie, the green, more casual Asgardian clothes. They remind me of his prison outfit from Dark World, but more leather and more his style.

And although the blue was okay, I didn’t like the fact they seemed to use it without a lot of thought for the character. Blue is an important colour in the Loki parts of Thor movies, at least the first one. I was really hoping they’d mention some stuff about y’know, that whole frost giant thing that they haven’t brought up since Thor 1… I mean they did mention it in the play thingy but come on! We could have at least got to see Loki in his Frost Giant form, or have him revert back to it when fighting Hela, cuz he’s been avoiding the topic for a while now. He could have been forced to use his ice powers (pretty sure he should have some ice powers even though he used the casket to freeze Heimdall in Thor… well, if his excuse is that he hadn’t known he was a Frost Giant for long he should have got used to it by now and it should be a big thing for him to use them (and as a bonus revert to his blue form) and that could have been shown by him facing Hela and deciding he needs to bc they’re all going to die)

The Avengers probably don’t even know what species he is. I think it’s a bit lazy of Marvel to bring up something so important and only use it in one movie.

Or… maybe they’re just waiting til Infinity War (I bloody hope they do, because I’m getting the nasty impression Loki’s going to either die or disappear off after Thor dies or some shit)

I was tagged by @lukehemmo134 to answer some questions, so…. here we go:

1. If you had the money to go anywhere with anyone, (even celebrities) where would it be? Who would it be with?

I have like 3 answers for this one because I would want to do something different with my best friend to what I would do with my boyfriend and something different again with a celebrity:

a) I would go to Paris with my boyfriend for a week or so and spend a few days in Disneyland there but stay in the castle hotel and have breakfast with the characters and stuff and get cute matching ears etc. I would do it how rich people do aka. how I will never be able to afford. But yeah, he’s never been to France and I’m part French so I would take him around Paris and it would be sickeningly romantic.

b) I would take my best friend on a road trip in America and we’d go to comic con in San Diego so we could meet the Marvel cast, watch a Black Hawks game in Chicago and see all of the places we want to see!

c) If I was meeting celebrities it would have to be Madeleine Petsch, Daniel Sharman and Tom Holland because they are my true loves. I honestly don’t care what we do as long as I’m with them because honestly I would be so overwhelmed as it is.

2. Favorite memory?

This is really hard to pinpoint because I have a few that are amazing for different reasons- I went to Boomtown which is one of best music festivals in the UK with my best friend this summer and that was insane, there was a clearing in the middle of a forest where they played trance music and we were in there for about 30 minutes and it could have been 3 hours, completely lost myself for a while (we were entirely sober).

3. Have you ever been to a concert? If so, what concert did you go to?

I went to see 5sos in Birmingham last year with my other best friend and we were so far away from the stage but it was amazing, one of the best nights of my life and we’re seeing All Time Low together next March. I’ve been to a lot and my uncle runs a music festival so I go to that most summers too.

4. Favorite celebrity?

Madeleine Petsch, Daniel Sharman and/or Tom Holland closely followed by Dylan O’Brien and Ruby Rose.

5. Vampire or Werewolves?

Werewolves every fucking time!

6. Do you listen to rock music or ever did listen to rock music? If so, what band? If not, tell me what you do listen to.

Yes. YES. YESSSSSSS. My best friend/roommate recently got me into 5FDP and I honestly am just breathing them at the moment. I listen to all sorts of rock from pop punk like ATL and YMAS to heavier rock and metal like Metallica, Iron Maiden and Counterparts. I also listen to trashier music though so…

7. Body abnormalities? (Don’t show me a picture, just tell me if you can explain it. I’m not being creepy, just curious and bored. Body abnormalities do not include: Freckles, stretch marks, chubbiness, moles, or any everyday things you tend to see or hear about from others)

I have a permanent bruise on the top of my left foot for wearing skyscraperesque heels to work every day and am abonormally short… I was born without tonsils and am honestly the human embodiment of genetic diseases.

8. Are you or a friend of yours related to someone famous? If so, how’d you find out that they were and did you freak out about it?

I feel like this one was written entirely for me… so my friend from college is Oli Sykes’ cousin and I found out because I was fangirling over how amazing I think he is. My roommate also knows Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s cousin. I live in quite an awesome city and have met/know relations of a few famous people. A friend of mine is the son of the drummer from Massive Attack and the grandson of Led Zeppelin’s bassist and I near died when I found that out.

9. If you had a chance to meet me, (which you probably wouldn’t care about doing so) how would you greet yourself? Would you freak out or just be ‘meh’?

I would probably squeal and dance around a lot and be jumping all over the place before turning into a shy mess and not knowing what to say before realising its you and we can talk about everything we would on tumblr!

10. Favorite person to talk to on Tumblr?

I really loved talking to @reveriesforyou but we haven’t spoken in a while- we have quite similar tastes and interests and she writes amazing fic so we came up with so many cute fantasies together and tbh we’ve only just started talking but @lukehemmo134 is the only other person I talk to on here that isn’t my roommate or his boy so, you too dude!

The devil was just making my face look bad in the mirror in the bathroom n pressing i was less than to a white man. A break here. "I was saying the person doesnt want you. You're supposed to be less than. Ugly. Beast," the devil said just now, it was repeating something it said a moment ago. But the thing pressing this as i looked in the mirror, it was a very grotesque feeling. Additionally it was pressing a white man in my mind that was supposed to be good looking n a weird sentiment of like not to be in relation to my reality at all. "I have to actually stop doing that. It was doing something," the devil said. Just now it occurred to put Elsa Pataky in my awareness. I did have a thought that that figure is out as not okay. I dont know if the thought was any relation to something the devil asked. 17. I was meaning to -- the devil pressing something now, a bad sentiment. "As im doing this im not okay," the devil said. It was going crazy pressing something it brought up this morning thats supposed to be a fantasy i was supposed to have had. "You masturbated," the devil said. A break here. But the devil was supposed to be bringing up -- a break here. The devil going crazy bringing up more of some sexual fantasies. It said before i paused from writing "more than once". It just said to add to it saying "more than once". It said, "that you told what i could be here". It was adding that to more than -- a break here. But the devil was adding that statement to "more than once". It keeps attacking by pressing things im supposed to be thinking, something like this n putting people in my awareness. A break here n then another break.. But the vision the devil was pressing in my mind was of what was supposed to be me -- "as ugly. Can i say who i am n go. And you not. Im saying something," the devil said. A break here. But the devil was pressing there some start of it seeming it was going to say for me to say who i was was who it was pressing in the vision it was acting like was from a fantasy i had but we think (or rather i was told) it was pressing it happened. -- "Can she say you are less," the devil said of my sister n it was pressing something but it was supposed to or rather it seemed it had to leave out the opinion of the public or figures it presses in my awareness. It said the figures n etc were less. "The populace," the devil said. I was told some other things too of what was happening. I was told i should be able to somehow see Chris for some spell broken or something like this. But the devil, it was seeming it was starting to say i was to tell who i was -- "Youre ugly.
