I talk my shit, but there are three (3) ways I can see this:

working out at the moment.

1. Someone else, maybe Nell’s character, or maybe Dustin, likens Henry to Mrs. Whatsit and the name sticks. I could see Nell’s character doing this to rationalize Henry’s existence, his abilities, and his situation re: “Camazotz”, the same way the Party calls all the monsters by DnD names to rationalize them.

2. He calls himself Mr. Whatsit in this same vein ^, pulling from someone else’s pop culture knowledge base to try and help one of the characters rationalize who he is, what he can do, and what his role is in this overall conflict (read: identifying himself as someone who wants to help).

2. Mr. Whatsit is given to Henry as a code name à la Griswold Family and Bald Eagle from The Battle Of Starcourt.

I just don’t (given our current information) see Henry organically rolling up like “☝🏻🤓 I’m Mr. Whatsit!” of his own volition without a LOT of extra context.

That is, of course, unless we’re talking about some kind of Mindflayer manifestation—read: Not Henry—which calls itself that to be #relatable/manipulative. Would love to know what the leaker meant by “Vecna (in human form)”.

And I know it’s been said, that Mrs. Whatsit is one of the “good guys” who helps Meg et al escape from Camazotz…but god it really is funny that Henry (?) is so directly tied to a good guy who’s helping people escape a bad/artificial prison world lorded over by a shadowy BBEG. Esp with the other part of the leak that goes “~oughhh he’s baiting Holly in with claims that he can save her friends”. Like brother mayhaps he’s ACTUALLY HELPING. HENCE THE DIRECT REFERENCE TO A GOOD GUY BEING TACKED ONTO HIS NAME. You’d think they’d make references to The Man With Red Eyes for Henry (since TMWRE is the human front for IT/the evil shadowy thing in AWIT the way Vecna is the human front for the MF), but nope! Henry’s got even more good guy stuff. And people stay stuck in “everything Henry does is evil/manipulative/predatory”.

Anwyway…we stay silly :)

Ok, its life update time!

I am now celebrating my 1 year anniversary as a Virtual Assistant. And I am super blessed to have a client that is super understanding and super flexible to my time. That is it! Can't describe how happy I am but one thing is for sure, I am SUPER BLESSED with this client! So, if you are reading this Boss R, I owe you everything!

Ok, that is it for work - now with growing up stuff. 2025 is really a roller coaster for us-me and JC. But everything is sticking together.

We are currently planning the following:

June 2025 - Move in to our townhouse (JC just got word from the bank that she is approved, after that, we'll going to wait for the final papers and then the renovation before move in phew)

July 2025 - Buy our own brand new Car (Veloz 2025 Pearl White)

August 2025 - Get married

Mid 2026 - Looking forward to have our own business (food or cafe or a franchise of anything; important thing is we have passive income)

January 2027 - Get the keys of our condominium (make it an airbnb; for investment)

That is why, Lord - I am praying for these plans to be aligned to Your will and plans for us. Grant us our prayers, for Your greater glory!

Re: Last reblog: I read A Wrinkle In Time in middle school. I was working through basically the entire fiction section at my library, and this was just one of the books that I picked up. I don’t remember a single thing about the book, but I do remember my dad seeing it and deciding to take issue with it for some reason? Like, he started quizzing me on what it was about, and when I didn’t have sufficient answers (because I was halfway through the book and it was above my reading level iirc), he just went off about how dangerous books and that there’s some things I shouldn’t read?? And I was like ‘I got it at the school library, do you think they put super objectionable material in the school library?’, Dad was like ‘You can find pornographic material in the school library.’

To this day I don’t understand it. At the time, Dad was going through his satanic panic phase, he had already tried to ban harry potter, which was the book series my mom and I read together. But like, A Wrinkle In Time is a Christian Book, it’s written by a christian with christian themes. 

Was it because it was sci-fi, and had some hard sci-fi stuff in it? I mean, that’s kind of in character for Dad, but, also, why this book in particular?

Wikipedia talks about communism in the book? But, like, confusingly, this isn’t fucking animal farm, it’s not a direct allegory, and also wikipedia implies that the communists are the bad guys because of “conformity”, so like...

The only other thematic analysis on wikipedia is a section titled “Feminism”, and yeah, my dad’s a borderline fascist and does not have a lot of good things to say about feminism, but out of all the books I read back then, A Wrinkle In Time is a stupid one to critique on that front. I read stories with female protagonists all the time. It literally never crossed my mind to distinguish stories with female vs male protagonists. And the protagonist being a girl seems to be the extent of the feminism in AWIT. And I read multiple bildungsromen about young women just starting puberty, with no thought going into that.

No point here, just thinking about one particularly bizarre shitty thing my dad did to me as a kid.

- in fact abnormalities have their own lil groups n stuff . gun trio etc etc .. after hours they hang out . they can have their Own Clubs n stuff  .  yay <3

- also want to say i hc funeral as a dumbass but dumbass in the way like “what kind of animal is pink panther” stuff like that .  i think thats fuuuunny even tho his lore is all Serious n Somber .      der frei is also a dumbass but he’s more quiet so he doesnt speak out n Reveal this as much . red has a braincell but she’ll often ignore it bcoz Attack Kill Violence. 

- speaking of red n having a brain cell, i like to imagine she’s actually like . Good with kids (laetitia, galaxy kid, etc) . kids look up to her coz she looks Soo cool and will basically listen to anything she says. if an employee tells them you shouldnt run with scissors? um cringe lol who would listen to them. oh wait shit red is telling u not to do that? oh fuck u should listen to her she is So smart n cool .

Talk about inconsistency.

I can say this better in English than in Makata-Filipino. English is just my normal writing language—and Filipino is more my speaking language. This is a not-so-short concluding insight for the series I just finished.

Initially, the said series was entitled “Dear Mahal” and I’m not sure if you can still remember me talking about it in a previous post. “Aking Mahal” came up when I was writing “Jelly Poops” and thought that it would be nice if I could do a serious poetry series, opposite of Jelly which was written by the I’m-so-drunk-and-high-poetic me.

Then I had this idea of writing them as sonnets because I remembered a college professor who said that sonnets are poems about love—even though they’re not. A sonnet is a poem with fourteen lines—each with ten syllables in iambic pentameter—and formal rhyming schemes.

“Aking Mahal” are fake sonnets—because I cannot call them real. Iambic pentameter is difficult to achieve in Filipino words for someone who doesn’t write poetry. Also, I don't have consistent rhyming schemes throughout.

Yeah. I don’t. Or more like I didn’t.

Before, poetry was not my thing. It’s one type of composition that I always had a fear of venturing to—you can go talk to my school newspaper friends for proof. About a year ago or so, I started seriously writing some for my blog and found the writing process to be really fun.

Simply put, iambic pentameter is a verse with a rhythm that’s similar to a heartbeat. It goes ba-DUM, ba-DUM, ba-DUM, ba-DUM, ba-DUM. If you read the “Aking Mahal” poems very quickly, you wouldn't recognize this. Try reading it slowly—or theatrically—in the beat of your resting pulse and you’ll get the rhythm. The problem with “Aking Mahal” is that nearly all of the lines only have four beats instead of five, and it doesnʼt generally follow the pattern.

The main reason why I decided on this style of writing is for me to get some wordplay exercise—in preparation for when I’m gonna write and compose my own songs. (That day is coming... I can feel it is.) Also, I wanted to find my voice and be comfortable writing in Filipino—I think I’ve achieved this.

As to what or who the series was about, it was addressed to my friend who had a thanksgiving party last December and everyone thought this party would make my 2019 Memorable Moments. She was also the person who facilitated my most memorable moment for 2018. Yeah, you can go scan my blog to find out who it is if you still don't know. No sense in hiding it since I don't really care anymore and she doesn't even read my blog anyway.

Don't worry. The sonnets are not inspired by anything that happened in the present. They're all from five to ten years ago—aside from one or two, I think.

And I no longer have any affection for her.

and the students at that university came up with it and they said that oh since "awit" in English means songs we can just say songs bro

Sagala #1, #2 & #3 by Tori Tadiar • A review, finally! I got this around March, read it last April, and only got to post a review tonight! Heh. 😅 • I love the idea of an AU Manila (is this even in the PH if Hiraya is pure fiction?) and the execution - the wonderful art and layout - is 🤩! • #1 is perfectly paced to set the story and I love that Riel is both strong, feminine and fun. She reminded me of early Usagi Tsukino from SailorMoon R except Riel doesn’t need to magically transform to kick ass. ☺️ I kind of wish some scenes showed Riel dealing with some post-trauma stuff (after the events at the end of the titular Sagala) but I still liked how the first chapter ended. • #2 is action-packed! It probably has the most things going on among the three issues I currently have. We got a backstory, a character dev’t inciting event, and I believe the first magical reveal from Lady Awit! I also finally get the #KuyaUmayosKa reference! 🤭 • #3 is also v entertaining. We finally see the adorable Ba-i (which reminded me of Elyon from W.I.T.C.H. a little bit), more Carmen (OMG, I live for the romantic sublot!) and more myth and magic! • I loved this! The seamless weaving of political intrigue and action and comedy and magic (and romance!) made this absolutely awesome! The artwork is also done well and my gosh, the covers! Idk if there will be full-color versions in the future but I want!! I also can’t wait for the next issue! ❤️ • *I also present to you non-spoilery snippets of each issue showing the art, the fun parts and great paneling. Hi! So it’s the day before my birthday. And my bestfriend, Bea and I went on a date. We’ve been wanting to see each other for God knows how long na pero di kami natutuloy. Finally nagkareason na din kami para magkita and it’s to celebrate my pre-birthday. We wento to Cafe Ana. New fav spot namin here in Pampanga. Nakita pa namin unexpectedly si Jeaneth lol. We talked about pa naman na baka magtampo nanaman yon kasi lumabas nanaman kami ng di siya inaaya. Funny how certain stuff like this happens. Anyway the usual girl stuff kain, coffee and kwentuhan. Look how cute our photos are tho. ♥️

Ayan so after Cafe Ana, nagtext sakin si Jel. Punta daw kami kina Mek. So ayon basically di pako umuwi. Akala ko tatambay lang kami sa house nina mek kaya lang nag aya sila umalis. We went to Cafe Rooftop. Hahaha odiba caffeine overload ate mo.

We stayed there up until 11pm. Pero ako gusto ko na umuwi by that time. Pagod na kasi ako and gusto ko salubungin birthday ko ng nasa house lang. Kaya lang etong mga kasama ko ang bibisyo. Nag aya pa ng mga kasama. May sumunod pa na friends namin sa Cafe Rooftop. Ako uwing uwi na talaga kaya lang wala akong kasabay umuwi. Sabay kami ni Jel dapat since magkalapit lang kami ng house.

So ayon, after Cafe Rooftop, balak pa namin mag Northwalk. Kaya lang late na yon for sure, closed na din. We went to Grill Up kaya lang di na din sila tumatanggap ng customers. We decided na pumunta nalang sa house nung isa naming friend. I wasnt feeling well. Pagod na talaga ako gusto ko ng umuwi. Until ayon napasama din. Nung we arrived na sa location, kami kasi una dumating. Tas nung padating na car nung iba naming kasama, nagbiruan kami. Taguan daw namen sila. Ang hindi ko alam bakit ako napasunod. Eh i’m not that childish para makipaglaro ng ganon. So ayon nung magtatago nako, i fell in a manhole! Sis! Grabe to. Tumatawa pa ako nung katayo ko. Pero i freaked out nung I saw myself bleeding. Tsaka iba yung sakit. Akala ko nga napilay ako. Ayon tumatawa pa iba kong friends lol what do you expect true friends laugh at you pag may katangahan kang ginawa pero nagpanic na din sila nung nakita nilang sobrang daming dugo na yung lumalabas. This happened at around 11:40pm. Odiba so much for a birthday salubong. Pumunta kami sa house nung friend namin para linisin yung sugat. It hurts. Sobrang hapdi niya. As in umiiyak ako sa sakit :( Umuwi na din ako nagtaxi nalang ako. My friends stayed there tho. Habang asa taxi ako umiiyak ako lmao. Literal na luhaan, sugatan di mapakinabangan chos. Di ko kasi alam kung anong masakit sakin. Yung puso ko ba or yung sugat. Hahahaha hindi lang kasi ako sa manhole nahulog pati sa maling tao. Awit. Pero i’ll kwento that on a different post. Lol not here. Anyway, so ayon I called my mom while asa taxi ako. Thank God she picked up. Kasi di naman usually din sumasagot yon especially pag gabi na. Ayon kauwi ko para akong batang nadapa and nasugatang umiiyak sakanya. Nilinis niya sugat ko and all. Saktong 12am na din yon. So ayon she hugged and kissed me and greeted me a happy birthday. Looool so much for my 23rd birthday.

No one tagged me in this but I wanted to do it anyway. 1. Which book has been on your shelves the longest? Oh god, so many, but I've been in the process of reading TheStand for almost a year now. I usually skim through them and if they're funny or seem interesting I read them. If it's just a list of names with little to know context I don't bother. 8. Anne Shirley, Claire Beauchamp Fraser, some minor character from Harry Potter who gets to go to Hogwarts but doesn't end up being killed gruesomely by Voldemort or a Death Eater. 9. A Wrinkle In Time, as good as it is, will always be slightly tainted by the fact that I got in trouble for reading it during "Diversions" (essentially recess) for my 4th grade GT class (because "we have no way of knowing that you aren't doing homework for your regular class and that's not allowed so you can't read while you're here") The Phantom Tollbooth and Alice in Wonderland and A Midsummer Night's Dream and MacBeth also all remind me of that stupid class because they were all assigned reading for it. AWiT is the only one with a negative association though because it was pretty much the first time in my life I ever got in "trouble" at school, and I still maintain that teacher was just being a bitch since every other kid in the class stood up for me and assured her I was reading it for fun and not for homework. 10.
