And I swear to every deity known to man that it’s because I’m thinking of it that the damn SecUnit comes ‘round the corner like it isn’t even a thing, like I’m not standing right here. It’s far enough away that I might’ve been able to pretend it was someone—something—other than it is, but I don’t easily forget the face of one who saves my life, one who I shot not five minutes after that, and—almost like an insult—every time my eyes focus on the figure across the walkway, my interface displays it’s feed ID: a damning ‘SecUnit’, stamped above its head like a name.

Surviving the trip from BreharWallHan isn’t the end of it for Human One, she’s not even sure it’s a beginning. There’s no clear end to the effects of her time spent in the backrocks, but recovery is made one step at a time. Recognizing her family, acknowledging her rights, claiming a home… taking a break.

This is what making an effort looks like. It’s harder than it has any right to be, but damn her if she won’t try anyway; and, like a mercy, some things come unexpectedly easy.

Waffle

The only reason I prattle on about things with such interminable waffle, is because I don’t see them anywhere else on Tumblr. And that really scares me. The lack of logic when applied to equality and fairness, something which had been the backrock of Western society for decades (centuries in theory, if not in practice) has been totally erased, and now all we have is hysteria and emotion. That’s fine when dealing with personal things. It’s not fine when dealing with political and social matters.

80% of Tumblrites have these attitudes. 5% have neo-Nazi attitudes. And the other 15% don’t care.

People piss on logic and truth on social media. But reason and truth will state, for example, that all people are equal, and that that was the same at the start of human history and will be the same at the end of human history. No agendas of straight white people or trans black people. All people. No privileges, no preferential treatment. Everyone. That is the beauty of logical truth.

I’m not very articulate and I am always happy to find quotes from authors who can see this happening, and note it. But they are scarce, and the actual Tumblr blogs with these views even scarcer. So I say these things for the simple reason that no one else does. I just wish I could be more laconic.
