ermmm hey guyz soz I haven't been posting I kinda forgot about this account buuut I've been workin on this and I'm proud of it so please enjoy some situationship BKDK angst!!

6 months.

It had been 6 months this time.

Half a year since the last time they saw each other.

6 long, consecutive months of unreturned phone calls and pleading texts to return.

6 months since Bakugou disappeared because Izuku pushed the sparky blonde on his feelings once more.

With his closest friends always showing up in full swing after Iida was the first to notice the erratic ups and downs Izuku faced early on in his and Katsuki's relationship. The Izusquad knew the routine by now, Bakugou would come in, treat Izuku like he was the center of his universe, and when the shy history major would ask for something a little too high on the commitment scale, Katsuki would pull away like he just had a lemon squeezed directly in his face. He had spent the first month and a half sobbing uncontrollably as he usually would, the next month and a half pleading through texts and voicemails late into the nights. After that, Bakugou would usually show up outside Izuku's apartment with the newest All Might merch and a to-go order of Katsudon from his favorite restaurant and all would be well again.

This time was different.

Bakugou didn't come back after the 3 month mark. He never even read the countless messages sent to him. Izuku became desperate, begging Katsuki to forgive him, and that Izuku finally understood the boundaries his childhood friend seemed to make clearer and clearer every time they would "break up". However, after those 3 months were up and no olive branch, Izuku spent another month sobbing the hours away to his friends, barely making it to his classes. After that month, he spent another mulling over their relationship and the pattern that had repeated itself so much his friends knew the signs better than he did. Once he had accepted that Bakugou may never come back, with the help of the Izusquad, he began his healing process. Working out, talking to his friends and focusing on his schoolwork more than ever helped him regain his focus on where he wanted to be in life, with or without Bakugou.

Which leads us to now, Izuku was up late at his disorganized-organized desk, in his one bedroom apartment that was "a perfect in between from school, the gym and his part time job at the local convenience store", studying even though he was the top of all his classes, save for PE, when he saw a pile of papers shiver with a hum. He shuffled the papers aside to find his phone, muttering to himself about how he has an exam coming up and who on Earth needs him at...12:53 am?! It was almost time for his second study break! As he flipped his phone over, his once droopy eyes widened to the message on his screen, more so the name of the sender.

Bakugou Katsuki: Come outside Deku.

He couldn't believe it, after half a year? And THAT'S all he could think to say? Gripping his phone with a grimace he pushed his rolling chair over to his apartment window that faced the street, peering down the side of the tiled building, he saw the all too familiar red sports car with the signature GEMD license plate. He didn't stand outside the loud vehicle, both figuratively and literally, because Izuku had memorized it after the first date they had. Not even Katsuki's car would be seen around town during their splits, which made it vehemently clear whenever it was out, the blonde WANTED to be seen and heard.

Izuku paused in thought for a brief moment, fighting within himself to go see his indecisive...whatever they were or to stay in, knowing ignoring him is best for his own interest. Then, another text.

Bakugou Katsuki: NOW shitty nerd. Or I'll leave.

And with that, Izuku sent only three letters as he slipped his jacket on and pulled his shoes on down the hallway.

The anxious boy tapped down the steps, fidgeting with his hands on what to say. Did he want Katsuki back in his life? He's healed so much though, and taking him back won't change anything, the pattern will continue. Will it? Maybe this time he needed extra time apart to really work on himself? Maybe he's willing to finally be what Izuku had been begging him for all this time...

He stepped outside and immediately hugged his jacket closer to himself, both from the chilly autumn air and to try to protect himself from whatever was waiting on the other side of the tinted glass, an ironic metaphor for the lack of transparency in their relationship. The driver side door opened and Izuku saw the blonde spikes before the averted gaze as Bakugou exited his car, to go bag in hand, like always. He stood slouched, embarrassed almost as he dragged his eyes up from the street to barely meet Izuku's teary green eyes.

"Hey..." Katsuki mumbled as he rubbed the back of his neck, holding out the red and white plastic bag, his olive branch, though this time to Midoriya it was dried and fruitless, "I'm...I'm sorry...I know I was gone...extra long this time..." He was practically choking on his apology, the words barely making it over the ever-droning hum of the cars in the city streets.

"Yea, you were," Izuku agreed, looking to the side before taking the biggest risk he could during these talks, "...Why?" He questioned, meeting the surprised look of his...friend. Asking the why question was always exactly what landed them in this spot over, and over again.

This wasn't how it usually went, not at all. Bakugou's mind was racing, he still had his arm extended except now it was shaking slightly, from anger? Nervousness? He wasn't sure but he didn't like this script change, why didn't this moron just take the food like usual? It was getting cold.

"What?" Bakugou spat, choosing to hide his nervousness with anger instead, a wall that was an unimaginable amount of layers thick, "You know why, just take the food so we can get this over with." He shoved the food towards Midoriya once more, not even looking his way this time so he didn't see the drastic expression change across his lovers face.

"You...can't keep...DOING THIS!" Izuku shouted, the usually quiet student had such a shocking outburst it made Bakugou's hair seem to spike more out of surprise, his fiery eyes darting to Miroiya's, watery and angry, "You can't keep just...LEAVING MY LIFE when I ask you to face your feelings! It's not fair to me at all!" It didn't seem to matter if anyone would hear his relationship qualms on the side of the road, Izuku needed answers.

Bakugou was, for the first time in a while, speechless. He could barely hear this damn nerds words over his own heartbeat thundering in his ears.

Izuku continued, "I can't...keep doing this Kacchan" He sighed, his speckled cheeks wet with tears of frustration. The usually testy blonde softened at the use of his nickname, he hadn't heard it in so long...he never realized how much he missed it until now. "I can't keep up with this pattern of you leaving and coming back, it's too much for me!" Midoriya was gripping his jacket even tighter, the tears flowing even more. All the terribly lonely months apart didn't outweigh the amazing months, and the love sick boy realized that.

"I...I said SORRY!" Bakugou shouted, turning slightly to set the, more than likely cold, katsudon on the roof of his car before stepping to Izuku, his hands slightly raised, wanting to hold him but not wanting to make the situation worse, "C'mon Zuku, I know I didn't bring a new All Might figure or whatever, but they have something coming out next week! I promise I'll get it for ya," His care towards the situation was failed to be recognized from the deep frustration on his face. Why was he making this so hard?! Just accept the apology and move on like always!

"IT'S NOT ENOUGH!" Midoriya yelled, louder than he ever had, and pushed Katsuki back, much to the much more muscular boys surprise, his arms dropped to his sides, one hand reflexively diving into his pocket to try and keep the cool demeanor he worked so hard to maintain. Using the heels of his palms to dry his cheeks, wanting to appear stronger than he was letting on, Midoriya took a deep, shaky breath before continuing, "It's not...enough. You can't win me back with my favorite meal a-and buying me gifts this time! Time after time you make me feel like I'm the most important thing in the world to you, then when I simply ask you what we are, you throw me away." He was calm now, still crying, but his voice was steady and he wasn't looking at Katsuki.

"Then why the hell do you ask?" Izuku looked up, not believing what he just heard.

"W-What?"

"Then why do you even bother asking?" Bakugou spat each word with vitriol, unable to look this sweet dog in the eyes as he kicked it, "If you know what triggers me leaving then why do you even ask?"

The deep green haired boy could feel his chest tightening with every word, he didn't want to believe Bakugou to be this cruel but he was making it impossible to see otherwise especially with the circumstances that led them to be outside Izuku's apartment, airing their dirty laundry for all of the city to hear, lights had begun to turn on and windows were being opened by residents, curious about the soap opera that was playing out on the sidewalk.

"Why?! Because you CONFUSE ME KACCHAN! You'll treat me exactly like a boyfriend would, hold my hand, take me out, defend me...but when it comes down to actually putting a name to it you get scared!" He was hiccupping and sniffling at this point, his short nails were starting to dig into his palms from clenching his hands so tightly. Calloused fingertips grazed his taught hands, feeling his hands being so gently encased would have melted the poor boy's heart. Yet all it did was ignite him with rage.

"Midoriya, I didn't know it would affect you this much," The usually loud jock was speaking in a tone never heard by another student, apart from his far too understanding other half. His face was soft, inviting. How could he do this to the one person he cared the most about? Why couldn't he just confront his feelings and stop hiding behind a wall of anger? Why did it make him so angry to try and be vulnerable with people?

With one rude movement, Izuku jerked his arm back, a disgusted look scrunching up his usually cute features. Katsuki's face dropped, his hand left mid air, empty of the physical comfort it once held. This wasn't like the sweet boy at all! Katsuki wondered what on Earth was happening to make the tables not only turn but entirely flip over.

"DON'T TOUCH ME BAKUGOU!" The name rung out in the streets like a gunshot, he NEVER used his last name like this, like a weapon. Katsuki let his hand drop to his side as he could feel his chest tightening. Why was it getting so hard to breathe all of a sudden?

Midoriya's chest was heaving and the tears kept pouring as onlookers covered their mouths in awe at the show of pure, raw emotion coming to a head.

"I...have done so m-much better...without," He paused and swallowed, as if he was finally swallowing the hardest pill he may ever have to take, "...you."

Katsuki felt a sharp pain stab at his chest with the last word. Without him? What on Earth is he talking about? His sweet Zuku was always inconsolable during these months apart, how could he not miss his fiery Kacchan? How could he say that?!

"What the hell are you talking about?" Bakugou growled, taking a step closer in an attempt to gain back control of the situation, "I push you to be better, that's the only reas-"

"For YOU! You push me to be better for YOU!" Midoriya interrupted, stepping almost chest to chest with the person he once adored. Katsuki's face had shifted from remorseful, to utter disbelief, to anger and all the way to plain shocked. What the hell was happening, why was he being so damn rude?!

"I'm not some... toy you can pick up a-and fling however which way you want!" Izuku was still fidgeting but was standing firm on his words, never wavering eye contact.

While Bakugou was simply living in his minds narrative of the months gone by, how this was good for them, how it will help them both to not be so clingy on each other. He had thought that instilling the thought of leaving at any time would make Izuku learn to not be so attached, but all it ended up doing was push his closest friend away. The countless nights he'd spent mulling over the incessant texts.

Should he text him? No, that's what space is for.

But he might need him. He needs to rely on himself.

The last thought he could never decipher who would need who in their situation, yes Izuku could be clingy, but who was in Katsuki's head for all that time apart? Another student in his gym wore red shoes to his workout every day and it inhibited Katsuki from focusing on his workout entirely. Whenever he had a problem with his schoolwork he knew exactly who would be up at such a ridiculous hour, going over the exact same answers.

"Either you're with me o-or you're...not," Izuku's words hung heavy in the air, he was staring expectantly at Katsuki. Was he hoping for a volcano of emotions? Of course he was, he wanted to hear Katsuki's true feelings.

And yet...

"You always ask too much of me, Deku," Bakugou practically choked out the insulting nickname, if Izuku was going to use words as a weapon then so would he. His muscular hand rested on the nape of his neck, feeling the intense heat of shame as he looked off to the side, unable to look at the damage he just caused, "Why can't you get that? You're smart enough to see that aren't you?"

This time, it was Izuku's turn to feel like an elephant was stepping on his chest, was it Katsuki's goal to crush his heart?

"W...what?" Izuku could feel his eyes get hot with tears, his vision beginning to blur.

"After all these years, the back and forth you haven't grasped it ye-"

"I'VE GRASPED IT JUST FINE!" Izuku cut him off, his heartbroken thoughts phasing into rage, "I'VE HELD ONTO YOU AND THE HOPE YOU'LL STAY THIS WHOLE TIME!"

All these years, all these months...wasted. He spent countless nights crying to his friends about what he needed to change to make his fiery Kacchan stay, countless events he skipped lying in wait for the cycle to renew. How many hours of sleep did he lose just staring out the window, waiting for that loud red car to come rolling down the street, never touching the gas so he didn't wake the whole complex with a backfire.

No, not wasted. This was a harsh and cruel lesson for Izuku, and Katsuki, to not wait around for someone to face their feelings, and to not wait to show them.

"I've...held on to the thought of you for so long..." Katsuki was stunned, he couldn't speak, he had too many things he wanted to say but didn't. He couldn't. He couldn't pick the words from the whirlwind in his head fast enough.

"I've learned a lot in the last...six months," Izuku was still trembling, but less so. His usually lively eyes had lost their sparkle as his gaze focused on the individual specks in the concrete, reminding him of the many painful nights alone, "...I'm done grasping at hopes, I need realness." And with that, he made a sharp swivel to return to his apartment, doing his best to keep his always overflowing well of tears under control.

"W-Wait! Midoriya!" Katsuki made a brash and sudden decision, much to the many onlookers' surprise, and grasped the retreating boys arm. His desperation to keep his lover showing, but it was far too late.

"I said don't touch me!" With a swift turn, Katsuki's arm was flung away. A soft gasp left the blonde's lips as he saw the tears flooding down Midoriya's round cheeks, all the hurt he had inflicted present on such a sweet face, he was truly undeserving of such treatment. "I-I don't want you to come by my apartment anymore, matter of fact...I don't want you calling me, texting me for answers, NOTHING!" He swept his hand in front of him, making sure he got his point across, Izuku wanted nothing to do with Katsuki.

"You think that I need you...but you're WRONG! Y-You needed ME!" Such sharp words coming from someone so soft spoken made it feel as if Katsuki was being impaled, "I don't need YOU!" And with that, he turned and rushed into his apartment complex, the heavy door slamming behind him, the light above the door turning from green to red.

Bakugou's whole demeanor shifted, he slammed his body against the cold iron as hot tears began streaming down his face. His pleas to open the door echoed throughout the streets, his knuckles becoming bruised and bloodied from attempting to beat the door down.

"Hey! Come back!" Katsuki didn't care who saw him crying helplessly on the doorstep, not that many were, most of the neighbors returned into their respective suites, some tearing up themselves, "You can't just leave me like this!" He slumped against the cold metal, trembling and hiccupping, an ironic mirror of the person he ended up hurting the most. To passersby, there was just a sniveling pathetic heap of apologies on a random stoop, "Please! I-I'm...s...sorry."

"He probably got found out for cheating or something," A voice whispered to their friend from the street, "Such a guy thing to do, poor girl," Their laughter dripping with bitterness.

"MIND YOUR DAMN BUSINESS HE'S..." The words faded out, he couldn't say boyfriend, but he couldn't say friend either they were so much more than that...

Collecting himself, Katsuki wiped his face with the heels of his palms before turning to the shocked faces of the two women that gossiped as if he wasn't there. He didn't bother meeting either of their gazes, they didn't deserve his time nor his insults. The forgotten katsudon sat on the ground, cold and soggy by now, out of pure anger he launched the togo bag like a soccer ball, making a mess of the side of his car...and he just washed it. He couldn't be bothered to care so he just swung open his car door and sat in the drivers seat before slamming the door so hard the glass shook. The car roared as Bakugou sped down the road, his exhaust popping to announce his exit.

The tears were blurring the lines on the road, earning the stoic college kid a few honks and a lot of crude hand gestures. How did this happen? This wasn't how he was expecting the night to end at all! He was supposed to show up, give a semi apology, hand over the katsudon and spend the rest of the night cuddled up with Izuku giving him all the apologies and reassurance he needed.

Why was he the one craving comfort right now?

The next few days, Katsuki spent all of his study time attempting to send messages, trying to call this damn nerd, only to be met with the dreaded "This number is not available right now, please redial or try again later" message and voicemail.

He was blocked.

Barred from speaking to the person he craved, no, NEEDED most.

Bakugou couldn't even get Izuku's friends to speak to him.

"You've hurt him a lot, you know that?" He does.

"He's trying to move on, so just let him do that please." He can't.

He won't be able to get over the emptiness in his chest, he won't ever be able to let anyone get that close to him ever again.

Months had gone by without a word between the two, not reciprocated at least. Going to the same school made it difficult to ignore someone that was so important to you, let alone not speaking to them. Izuku's grade's rocketed back to top of his class, while Katsuki was on the slow decline to expulsion. Spending all of his time mulling over the things he said, what he failed to say and everything he lacked to give Izuku. Every chance he got though, Katsuki was calling out to him, in the hallways he would try to stop the young man every time he saw the green mass of hair from afar only to be met with a mumbled excuse to keep moving, never even sparing him a glance.

It was over. Midoriya Izuku, for the first time ever, stopped reaching out his hand to Bakugou Katsuki.

Katsuki Bakugou x Reader

Prompt! Katsuki who thinks that he can handle everything on his own learns that sometimes it’s okey to be helped

The harsh winter winds howled outside the dorms of U.A. High, the air biting with a cold that seeped into the bones. The entire class had been training hard, pushing their limits in preparation for the upcoming hero exams. But even the strongest could fall, and that’s exactly what happened to Bakugou Katsuki.

Bakugou wasn’t one to admit weakness. If it were up to him, he would’ve fought through the fever that had settled in his body, but today, the sickness hit him harder than any villain could. He lay in his bed, groaning and glaring at the ceiling, his usual explosive energy dulled by the heat radiating from his skin.

You had noticed Bakugou’s absence from class earlier in the day, his empty seat feeling unusually prominent. It wasn’t like him to miss training, so when Aizawa mentioned in passing that Bakugou was ill, you couldn’t help but feel a pang of concern.

After classes ended, you decided to check on him. You weren’t particularly close to Bakugou; his abrasive personality and short temper kept most people at arm’s length. But you couldn’t just ignore someone in need, especially when that someone was a part of your class, your team.

Gathering your courage, you knocked on the door to his dorm room.

“Bakugou?” you called softly, but there was no response. You knocked again, a bit louder this time. “Bakugou, are you okay?”

A muffled growl came from inside. “Go away,” he rasped, his voice hoarse.

You hesitated, but then opened the door a crack, peeking inside. The room was dimly lit, the curtains drawn to block out the sunlight. Bakugou was sprawled out on his bed, a blanket half-thrown over him, his face flushed with fever. He looked worse than you had imagined.

Ignoring his earlier protest, you slipped inside and gently closed the door behind you. “I brought some medicine,” you said, holding up the small bag you had prepared. “And soup. I thought it might help.”

Bakugou turned his head slightly to glare at you, though it lacked its usual intensity. “I don’t need… help,” he muttered, trying to push himself up but failing as a wave of dizziness hit him.

You sighed and moved closer, placing the bag on his bedside table. “Everyone needs help sometimes, Bakugou. Even you.”

He grunted, clearly unhappy with the situation, but didn’t argue further. You took that as permission to stay. Setting the bowl of soup on the table, you reached for the medicine.

“Sit up a bit, okay? You need to take this,” you instructed gently.

Bakugou gave you a look that could have melted steel, but he complied, albeit slowly. You handed him the pills and a glass of water, watching as he downed them with a grimace. His usual fiery spirit seemed dimmed by the fever, and it was strange to see him so vulnerable.

“Thanks,” he mumbled after a moment, his voice barely above a whisper. It was a rare show of gratitude from him, and it made you smile softly.

“You’re welcome,” you replied, pulling a chair close to the bed. “You should eat something, too. It’ll help.”

Bakugou eyed the soup with suspicion, but hunger and exhaustion won out. He took a few spoonfuls before setting the bowl down, his eyelids drooping.

“Don’t think this means I’m weak,” he muttered as he sank back into the pillows.

You shook your head, your expression gentle. “I know you’re not weak, Bakugou. You’re just sick. Even heroes need to rest sometimes.”

He didn’t respond, already half-asleep, but the tension in his body seemed to ease at your words. You stayed by his side, occasionally checking his temperature and making sure he was comfortable. As the hours passed, his breathing evened out, and the harsh lines of pain on his face softened.

When he finally woke up, the fever had broken. His eyes, though still tired, had regained some of their usual fire. He looked at you with a mixture of confusion and something else—gratitude, maybe?

“You stayed,” he said, his voice stronger than before.

You nodded, a small smile on your lips. “I couldn’t leave you alone like that. Besides, you’re pretty scary when you’re sick. Someone had to make sure you didn’t blow up the place.”

Bakugou huffed, but there was no real annoyance in it. “You’re annoying,” he muttered, but there was a faint smirk tugging at the corner of his lips.

“Yeah, yeah. Just get better, okay?” you teased lightly, standing up to stretch. “I’ll check on you later. Try not to set anything on fire while I’m gone.”

He watched as you left the room, his gaze lingering on the spot where you had been. He might never admit it out loud, but for the first time in a long while, Bakugou felt a warmth that had nothing to do with his quirk—or the fever.

My Top 10 Todobakudeku Moments

So a while back I did a post about the OT3 moments of Baku/Deku/Ocha, since i’d noticed a bunch of em. But since we’re in the Todobakudeku arc in the manga right now, I figured I’d do another one for the OT3, especially since I’ve made posts about Top 10 moments for each component (a whole whopping 40 in total for BKDK, since I had 2 lists of 20). These three are basically considered the three MCs of BNHA, and I may as well talk about the bits that throw ‘em all together.

BTW I’m pretty sure this current arc will add about ten more to the list so this is a preemptive strike for now. 

#10. What about our extra lessons?

Episode 61 “Deku vs Kacchan Part 2″

What happens; After the big BKDK blowout, Todoroki takes the time to ask Bakugou if he’s still gonna have time for their extra lessons. Bakugo gets annoyed and yammers about how this has nothing to do with Shoto.

Why I Like It: Both Ochaco and Shoto throw their hats into the ring after the big blowout in terms of their role in the rivalry; on the one hand, this looks like Katsuki telling Shoto to butt out of their Rivalry bromance...but it still means we highlight Shoto’s place in this group, nonetheless.

#9. "Perceptive and Dense”

Chapter 217 “One for All and All for One”

What Happens: MANGA SPOILERS Shoto goes up to Deku to ask him about his new power and how he apparently lied to him about having multiple quirks. Deku comes up with a plausible lie, while Bakugo rolls his eyes at Shoto’s inability to get it.

Why I Like it: After a big BKDK chapter, where we see their new dynamic, Shoto again pops up to remind us that he has a stake in this part of the story: he has a connection to Midoriya, and now to Bakugo, that is important to his personal growth. Also it does, as fans pointed out, look like a shot out of  TDBKDK doujin.

#8. Locker room Challenge & Obstacle Race

Episode 15-16 “Roaring Sports Festival”/”In their Own Quirky Ways”

What Happens: Shoto goes over to Deku and challenges him. Bakugou gets rather jealous of this and insists that Shoto “declared war on the wrong person”. Deku surpasses them both, coming in first place by jumping on their backs and riding the wave.

Why I like it: This is kind of the official ‘beginning’ of TDBKDK as a thing, since before this Todoroki just kinda exisited in tandem with the Wonder Duo instead of being a part of their rivalry thang. It’s not entirely clear how this triangle works - is Bakugou jealous because Deku picked another rival or because Todoroki isn’t interested in him? Is Deku more keen to surpass one or the other? Would Todoroki challenge Kacchan if Deku wasn’t connected with All Might? It’s not so simple.

#7. “How sad, Todoroki Shoto”

Episode 45 “What a Twist”

What Happens: Knowing that the LOV wants to kidnap Kacchan, Todoroki, Deku and some other people band together to save him. In the moment of his kidnapping, it’s both Deku and poor, frantic Shoto who fail to save him, highlighted by “how sad, Todoroki Shoto” and “Don’t come, Deku”.

Why I Like It: While everyone in Class A is protective of Bakugou in this arc, Todoroki and Deku go the few steps beyond into Shippy territory. Not only do we have Shoto take the time to express his concern for Deku in the ep before this, but we also have Todoroki’s uber-protective giant-ice-wall attack on Compress, Deku’s “Give him back”, and this final, devastating failure, to remind us of the reciprocal OT3-ness of them. Nicely played. 

#6. Hideout Raid Arc

Episodes 46-50

What happens. Following the aforementioned failure, Deku and Shoto are among the most gung-ho of all Class A to  go do the incredibly stupid and reckless thing and save him. When he is before them again, they both move in sync to save him, with Iida having to stop them both. Thanks to Deku’s planning, they succeed. 

Why I Like It: Continued mostly from the appeal of the previous one, but this one has: Todobaku (Todoroki risking everything to save Kacchan), Tododeku (Todoroki and Midoriya moving in sync to save him) and of course BKDK all over the place (”I can’t  help feeling I have to save him” “You’re the most concerned of all” “Don’t give up All Might”, etc.)  It’s very nice and circular. 

#5. Deku vs Todoroki

Episode 23 “Shoto Todoroki Origin”/chapters 38-40

What Happens: Midoriya gets furious at Shoto for holding back on him, because everyone else, including OP bosses like Kacchan, is using everything they’ve got to win. Channelling Baku, Deku refuses to lose, and eventually does the “Your power” thing, which makes Todoroki have his big epiphany moment and change forever. And throughout it all, we cut back to Bakugou, reminding us of his role in this whole thing. 

Why I Like It: Well, obviously first and foremost because “DEKU VS TODOROKI OMG”. But for TDBKDK, this is another one that just keeps them all inside each other’s orbits in this pivotal moment. Bakugo is deeply interested and invested in Todoroki’s deal. BKDK show their mind-mates sync think when they talk together, like they just know everything. And of course it’s the #1 big TDDK moment. But significantly, the inspiration on Deku’s side is a very Kacchan-like moment of “take me seriously” from him. 

#4. Bakugo vs Todoroki

Episode 25 “Todoroki vs Bakugou”/Chapters 43-45

What Happens: Where to start? Bakugou and Todoroki brooding over Deku in the prep room; Todo losing his spark post Deku-match and Baku being jealous, Baku yelling about how there’s no point in not doing better than Deku, Deku cheering Todoroki on to do his best and Baku appreciating it...it’s more like five moments but I’m counting it as one. 

Why I like It: So much TDBKDK vibe in this one. Bakugo needs to do better than Deku and wants respect from Todoroki. Deku wants Bakugo to get his respect and Todoroki to take care of himself. Todoroki feels guilty for hurting Bakugo and comes alive at encouragement from Midoriya. They all kinda benefit  from each other in ways that go in all 3 directions. 

#3. Wanna come intern with me? (MANGA SPOILERS!!)

Chapter 242 “Merry Christmas”

What Happens: Todoroki notices how Midoriya and Bakugou both have nowhere to intern. He offers to let them come learn from the #1 with him.

Why I Like It: This one is pure, fanservice-y fun, though it did set the direction for this new arc. But while there isn’t too much BKDK in this one, outside of their posing, Todoroki noticing his two bfs issues and offering them a way out is just pure peak Shoto. He’s so nice, ya’ll, and he cares so much about both Deku AND Kacchan at this point. If you don’t believe me on that one...

2. Training with these Guys (MANGA SPOILERS)

Chapter 247 “Progress Check”

What Happens: Todoroki, relaying his backstory after Deku and Kacchan already gave theirs, explains how his entire perspective was changed “by fighting with these guys” - not just Midoriya, but both of them. He makes it very clear that they’ve changed his life.

Why I Like It: This chapter also has some bKDK-y goodness in it too, since Baku flashes back to his adorable childhood with Deku in his motivation monologue. But here, Todoroki firmly establishes how much both characters mean to him, how they’ve affected him. I love that little correction, too, as he reminds himself there’s other people he cares about too.

Episode 19/Season 2 Episode 6 “The Boy born with Everything”/Chapter 31

What Happens: Todoroki tells Deku his backstory and Bakugo overhears. 

Why I Like It: I’m a big sucker for “I know  your secret” stuff. This one has Todoroki opening up to Deku about his tragic life, which Bakugou also over hears, making these two the only people who know what Todoroki’s real deal is and therefore able to help him through with it. Bakugo followed them there, either to  follow Deku or Shoto or really both, and gets a wake-up call from hearing the extremes this can bring. Deku thinks of Kacchan when he thinks of “those who have helped me” and tells Todoroki the best version of his backstory he can. It’s just...such a reciprocal moment.

BnHA Chapter 211: Jane, Stop This Crazy Thing

Previously on BnHA: The fifth and final joint training battle began with Team DekuRakaMinaTa VS Team MonoShinYanaYuiShou. (There’s probably a better way to combine those last five names. Maybe it’s time to retire this joke.) Anyways, All Might answered a phone call from Gran Torino and went to go chat with him about OFA, probably thinking to himself that surely he wouldn’t miss much in just the next five minutes or so! So while he was doing that, Shouda, Yanagi, and Kodai attacked Ochako, Mina, and Mineta with a bunch of huge flying objects. And Monoma confronted Deku and started taunting him, first trying to goad him into revealing his friends’ location, and then trying to bait him by snidely accusing his boyfriend of being the one who caused the demise of the Symbol of Peace. Fucking ouch. He almost baited me with that one tbh. Anyway, that really pissed Deku off, but because he’s a smart kid he still didn’t respond and instead went to blast Monoma with his air gun attack. Except that all of a sudden some weird fucking shit started happening and Deku’s right hand basically exploded with black lightning. Ah, well, you know. Just One for All things.

Today on BnHA: Flashback!Monoma (from like five minutes ago) bonds with Shinsou over having quirks that don’t necessarily make one think “hero!” at first glance. He asks Shinsou how he goaded Deku into opening his mouth back at the sports festival, and Shinsou says he insulted his classmates. Monoma is all “!” and we then cut back to the present, where Deku is all “NNNNNGHHHH” and scary black tendrils are lancing out from his arm every which way trying to either capture Monoma or flat out kill him (who can say). At first everyone is all “Midoriya fucking powered himself up again?” not realizing that for once it was unintentional and he has no control over it. Once Deku starts screaming at everyone to run away -- and the “new technique” starts ripping apart the entire fucking stage -- it kinda starts to sink in, though. All Might tells Aizawa they need to end the match, and meanwhile Ochako floats herself up and latches on to Deku and then calls out to Shinsou for help. Probably because she’s learned her lesson about waiting on the teachers to ever do anything, sob.

(As always, all comments not marked with an ETA are my mostly-unspoiled reactions from my first readthrough of this chapter. I’m caught up with the manga now at chapter 224, so any ETAs will reflect that.)

so we’re opening chapter 211 in exactly the way that everyone was expecting! with a fucking Monoma flashback lmao

whoever was telling him that, they’re really fucking stupid by the way. Monoma legit has one of the best quirks in the game. all it means is he would work best on a team, that’s all

so he’s bonding with Shinsou (this is a flashback, obviously, so that first panel was a flashback-within-a-flashback) over them both having quirks that people looked down on

lol well Shinsou is saying “that doesn’t make me happy” in response to Monoma declaring they were the same type. so now I know they can banter, and so the answer is yes, I do in fact ship it. this is not a thing I was expecting to happen in this arc. Shinsou I’ve gone from you being in the background every so often popping up to remind us you exist, to me having adopted you and shipping you with at least two people, one of whom is the kid who in the previous chapter was like “hey you know that thing that Bakugou secretly harbors horrible guilt over? let me just go and get in his boyfriend’s face and be all ‘yeah it totally was his fault.’” man. life sure is funny

and apparently this little weasel did it on Shinsou’s advice!

LMAO Monoma this is the role you were born to play. all you have to do to succeed is insult class 1-A omg. can you do it? it’s gonna be so fucking hard for you, so out of character. you’ll have to dig down deep

anyway so I’m not sure if this is Monoma or Shinsou monologuing here (though I’m leaning toward Monoma because he’s responsible for 8 out of 10 monologues in general when he’s around) (ETA: yeah it’s Monoma), but either way it’s an interesting speech

I appreciate the deeper look into Monoma’s psyche, but I don’t know if I buy into this argument that his quirk forces him to act unheroically. Shinsou’s quirk is a different story perhaps, but there’s nothing about the copy quirk that necessitates unscrupulous conduct in order to win the day. it just so happens that he is very good at goading others, and it only makes sense to use that to his advantage when he can. like, it’s a respectable strategy, if one that doesn’t necessarily win you a lot of friends. 

I for one don’t feel like he needs to justify himself; it’s a battle, and you gotta do what you gotta do to try and give yourself the edge, especially when you’re up against the fucking main character. but anyway, maybe he feels a little guilty deep down and has to rationalize it like this. or maybe he’s just trying to bond with Shinsou and be all “yeah I get you man, you don’t have a choice, it’s rough.” or maybe a little of column A and a little of column B, who knows. anyways.)

...in fact, I would totally read an AU where Monoma does more successfully in the cavalry battle and makes it into the tournament and consequently ends up drawing the League’s attention instead of Katsuki -- because he does do a very decent villain impression, this one -- and as a result he’s the one who gets taken. featuring a bonus rescue attempt led by Tetsutetsu and Kendou, and a Kamino arc that strangely enough ends up playing out very similarly to the one we actually got, in the end. anyways. it’s an interesting What If to think about.)

there’s another panel of Ochako staring in horror. there’s been a lot of those. is it just to show her concern, or is she planning something to help him (I have no idea what she could do though), or is she taking mental notes here and this means she’ll be hounding him with questions about his quirk after this and will eventually learn about OFA too?

(ETA: thankfully no one other than Shouto thinks to ask, and Shouto accepts the weakest of excuses without hesitation because this is the densest and most trusting group of kids to ever walk the earth. A Rencounter Fic

OMG I MADE A 2ND CHAPTER!!! And in short amount of time (not really but short enough)!! This one is really special cuz @ice-cream-kitsunegirl and I work together on this one. She made an amazing intro (in my personal opinion). Once again both of our Ocs are here, I have her permission to use her character, I hope you will like it and please check out her blog if you like bnha x readers fics, I recommend reading her stuff. (She has more experience in writing than I do. XD)

Summary: Ashlen and Amy have been friends online for three months but never knew each other's real names or faces. They are from different countries but feel as if they are very close to one another. Ashlen is on an exchange program to UA High School to Class 1-A for a year. One year away from home in the U.S, will she get along with her new classmates? Why does one of them sound familiar?

Chapter 2: A Sense of Change

Meanwhile at UA…

“WHOO-HOO~!”

Amy whooped as she flew her broomstick up in the air, high enough to run a hand through the clouds, the same place where her head was as she grinned at the bright moonlight. It was the perfect amount of light that she would need to charge her gemstones for when she got down. She looked down to see their brightness…

She wasn’t alone though, she had her dear friend Shinsou riding with her on her broomstick, and he wasn’t crazy about how high they were. They were a little too high near the clouds, he knew that Amy was an adrenaline junkie, but how did he let her convince him to do crazy shit like this?

‘It’s like riding a bike she said… it will be fun she said…’ He thought to himself in dread, but he refused to show that he might have been just a little bit scared of falling since this relied purely on her telekinesis to let her fly.

“Hitoshi! We’re so freakin’ high! I’ve officially gotten better with my telekinesis, and now I can fly this thing anytime I want! Haha~! I want to get away, I wanna fllyyyyy away~.” She started singing as she floated about and let the wind blow in her face.

“You shouldn’t sing while we’re up here… you need to focus, so your telekinesis doesn’t break… Let’s just get back to the ground… I don’t think I really like fly-“ Shinsou nearly screamed when she suddenly descended, and he held on tightly to this broomstick as she whooped yet again, swerving a circle around the Heights Alliance building and potentially disturbing some of the other Class 1-A students with the heavy wind blowing through the windows from her fast flying..

As soon as she reached the ground, Shinsou was happy to be back on his feet where he wouldn’t fall to his death. “HA! Never gets old…” Amy laughed cheerfully as she got down off her broomstick, secretly amusing Shinsou despite what his expression indicated. “You’re setting witches back a hundred years by flying on a broomstick, do you know that?” He asked her sarcastically as she laughed a little bit, “Yeah, but it’s fun~. Now watch this! The moonlight is perfect for my gems~.” Amy sang-songed as she cheerfully went over to the gems she had collected to charge up for the perfect night.

They were gleaming, provided by the brightness of the moonlight that shined upon them, Amy stared at them in awe as she started to sing the incantation.

“Crystal, Gleam and Glow

Let your power return

The full moon shine so bright

Return your state of might.”

A low humming radiated from the glowing gemstones, and Amy’s grin grew and looked somewhat crazy from Shinsou’s point of view as she did her best to not let out a dramatic cackle, and instead just giggled happily. “AH! I can’t wait to utilize their power for later~ I’m just mad about gemstones.” She said excitedly, which Shinsou secretly found endearing. Even if he didn’t know why he was out here in the first place.

“Why am I out here again?” He asked in the most deadpan tone she had heard yet, and he wasn’t surprised to see Amy’s trademark smirk.

“Duh, Mr. Aizawa trusts you the most with me, I need you to back me up if I get in trouble, and on top of that… I need to make up being away from you for 4 years… do you know how sad I was without you?”

Amy explained, her smirk turning into a more somber smile, “But you had the other witches. You certainly think highly of them… a lot more than the other girls here, that’s for sure.”

It was true. Amy often mentioned her sisters from the coven at Miss Robichaux’s Academy for Exceptional Young Girls at New Orleans to her friends and classmates. Her sisters were young witches that had been made public not long ago but were an independent heroine group that followed their own rules thanks to Amy’s Supreme Cordelia Goode demonstrating a heroic attitude despite the witches’ controversial, and some say questionable hero methods. Amy’s dear friends Zoe Benson, Queenie and Mallory lived there, and she missed them terribly, but frequently spoke to them online, along with a new friend she had made in the states. And sometimes she would stay up till the dead of the night talking to them, which had lately been forcing Bakugou to make her ‘go the fuck to bed.’

“I do… I mean the girls here are great… but… my sisters are… pretty badass.” Amy chuckled a little bit, but Shinsou couldn’t help but rolls his eyes. “Yeah, we hear you go on and on about how great they are… Except for Madison… nobody can stand her, I really can’t stand her.” Shinsou reminded her but made sure to remark on his intense dislike for Madison Montgomery, the bitchiest witch who had been ‘taking care of you’ and shadowing a very reluctant Aizawa on Cordelia’s request on most days. But nobody, not even sweet Izuku, Kirishima or Uraraka liked her.

Amy couldn’t help but giggle. Madison was more of her frenemy than anything, compared to Misty, Mallory, Zoey, and Queenie, but Madison was a hedonist who looked out mainly for herself and most definitely NOT a hero. Although, Madison did care about Amy, given that she took her on a wild bender after Bakugou was rescued and was being kind of a distant asshole afterward.

That proved that Madison DID care about her and had a heart underneath the stone-cold bitchiness. “Hee-hee, Madison’s a bitch. But… I can handle her. I mean… look at who I’m dating.” Amy shrugged a little bit and laughed, not fully noticing the look of annoyance on Shinsou’s face.

“But… as much as I talk about how great my sisters are… they aren’t you Hitoshi… they made me feel less lonely… but they couldn’t replace you at all…” She said softly with a warm smile at her childhood friend, who didn’t seem to expect that as he awkwardly rubbed the back of his neck, willing himself to not blush.

“So sentimental…” He muttered a little bit in slight embarrassment as Amy giggled a little bit, unable to stop herself from hugging his arm affectionately as he sighed heavily in mild annoyance. Although, Amy’s hold loosened a little bit as her brown eyes widened ever so slightly, pausing momentarily as she stared upwards into the distance and looked around.

There was nothing in the area, but her senses were tingling and telling her something that she couldn’t really say. Yet, she felt nothing bad, which was surprising to her since one of Amy’s gifts allowed her to sense bad juju and of bad things yet to come. So naturally, Amy learned to be cautious, even if she wasn’t sensing the usual bad juju…

Which was a little bit alarming to her. She’d been used to bad juju, and for some reason, it seemed to be naturally drawn to her wherever she wants, whether it was at Robichaux or UA. She recalled many times she felt it, such as the attack on Robichaux, the Witch Hunters, the Axeman’s attack, the USJ incident, the Hero Killer’s attack at Hosu, to the Summer Field Training trip. All bad incidents, so why was this so different?

Amy wondered what this could have meant. Whatever it was, it was lingering in the atmosphere, and Amy was growing more curious about it by the minute.

As she thought to herself, Shinsou knew that the witch must have sensed something when she was uncharacteristically quiet, so he could tell she must have sensed something, “What is it, Amy? Is something the matter?” He asked her, a hint of concern in his tone as Amy chuckled and shook her head.

“Nothing really… I thought I sensed something but… now it’s gone… it’s nothing.” She replied with a smile and decided to quickly change the subject somehow.

Ding!

“Oh! Hello~. Wonder who that could be~?” Thankfully, one of your friends messaged you, which was the perfect distraction from the weirdness you felt.

Amy nearly jumped, and she flashed him a nervous, toothy grin, “Just a friend… Zombie Boy? No…” She laughed very nervously, “Nobody… definitely not you… I don’t think your zombie-like features make you look like a zombie…” She said, not convincingly at all as she tried to wave it off.

"Who are they? Are they your friends from the coven?" Shinso asked, with a face of annoyance from the 'pissed' comment.

“Hee-hee… not this time… Madison probably would’ve said something like that. But no, this is my bud from the States... She ain’t a coven girl, well… that I know of,  but she’s definitely a friend…” She clarified, for once not saying anything really snarky since she had grown to like this girl, she was pretty cool. A LOT cooler than Madison that’s for sure, the witch Amy was stuck with.

"You know, you really shouldn't be buddy-buddy with people online. They could be a creepy old man from Japan." He warned, he heard creepy tales of how disgusting villains kidnap kids over the internet.

LYSSA oh my goodness YES SOMEONE WHO AGREES WITH ME I love bakugou a whole lot and me (now realizing myself that im more demisexual/demiromantic) I can totally see him like this! That whole confident , sexy bakugou could come from him being comfortable with who he feels a deep connection with after everything but it’s not something that comes easy at first

Honestly he might be a bit insecure, not having much experience as what his peers could have from them experiencing and experimenting with their love lives but once he found who he feels connected awith he’d catch on quickly. If they have the same type of drive , determination and improving themselves for the best that’ll definitely catch his attention but at the same time I could see him helping someone who might need a push to do better and get out of a slump (I could see him feeling a bit lonely and having spouts of doubt at the top I dunno it’s just a thought) I could see him learning what his new lover likes, their dislikes but all from observing and conversations you two would have.

Favorite food? He’s learned it and makes if for you as an appreciation to you for helping him with work.It could also be to comfort you if you had a bad day. Favorite hobbies? He’d learn so you two could have more to do together. Wanna cook together and watch something? Sure, he’d get his training and paperwork done early just so you two can have as much time as he could get. Overall Bakugou who’s found someone he’s truly and deeply in love with, he’d show you how much he cares and his appreciation for you with his actions and learning the little things about you that make you well you and why he had fallen for you in the first place

Bakugou is used to being by himself , doing what he can do to become a hero, so he wasn’t too interested in helping out others ( until he became apart of 1-a and learned from his experiences that he’s going through now)So his methods of showing you he cares is in what he does for you. He might not say the most poetic words at times (“I got you something, you like this little candy shits right?) or it’s sorta passive aggressive but it’s all in love. He’s still trying to learn and understand how to show and express his feelings so i could see him being a giver and more action based in his love and appreciation of you

Speaking of emotions and feelings, I see Bakugou being a love letter type of person (lemme explain) See, our boy Bakugou wasn’t good with exactly expressing himself or even talking about his feelings openedly. So finding someone he could be open with and vulnerable is highly valued and important to him. Having someone he could tell his fears, his insecurities and feel safe with made him feel a type of love he never felt before which both scared and gave him joy. The whole thing came from helping how his lover felt , if they were upset or just felt like they weren’t doing enough he’d admit his own insecurities, that he keeps his eyes on the prize aiming to be a even better hero, which keeps him going.

After learning about how he felt and having validation from the usually confident and driven man of his own insecurities you’d try to let him Vern and talk about them when he felt pent up and just overwhelmed. Once again his actions would tell the tell. Random cussing while he does paperwork, no announcement when he enters the room, longer showers. All things that made the ashy blonde on edge. But he wouldn’t take it out on you, oh no. He’d deal with it himself, just like back in highschool he’d cover it with his brash attitude and abrasive personality, it was a defensive mechanism for him and it made him feel safe. But once he got to have a heart to heart with you about himself he’d feel his love grow even more, that wall he unknowingly made and kept up every time he had these days and moments started to fall, letting you in. Recommending that you both wrote how you felt if you couldn’t talk or explain it to eachother is what brought him to love letters. He could say how he felt about everything in your relationship, how it started, how it’s grew and made him feel : everything. Those letters were addressed to you and more poetic than anything that could possibly be said. He’s better with writing how he felt than talking. He wouldn’t get fumbled up or lost in his thoughts like if he tried to talke his emotions out. It was something he saved up to give you one day, most likely with a wedding ring attached

He’d wait a good while, id dare say the second year anniversary but I could even say the first year anniversary he’d admit his love for you! It could make others wary but you both knew he’d never cheat. Side note ; I definitely feel like whoever bakugou chooses is definitely the person he’d make a longtime commitment to, definitely would be who he’d marry! Back to him saying he was in love, it would be a very important moment, giving the fact he hadn’t verbally said it yet, but you have because you truly did. That scared him. He knew he was in love after the first year but he also didn’t want to rush the feeling, not used to having someone he’d connect to like this. But with his determination also came his knowing wht eh wanted and if he truly wanted it. Being in this relationship, a very new thing for him and something he still wasn’t quite sure of, he did know that he wanted to try and do that with you, someone who didn’t push him to try and do any more than he was comfortable with, supporting him though everything and understanding of his goals and how he felt. Even if he didn’t say it , his ways and actions did and you didn’t take it any less than if he said how he felt

God Bakugou being a Demisexual is something I see him as, but he’d give his all once he worked more in these new found feelings :’)

not that anyone was asking but I fully and completely headcanon canon bakugou as someone who is demisexual/demiromantic (I truly think he’s both tbh). he doesn’t seem the type to hook up with anyone, he’s had his mind set up on being a hero for so long & there’s literally nothing to hint or indicate that he’s ever been thrown off that path. it’s fun writing him as this confident sexy asshole because for whatever reason that’s a character type we all enjoy, but at the end of the day, when i’m looking at canon material, I don’t think bakugou katsuki can come to truly care about a single person unless he has that strong and deep emotional bond.

like I feel that I can argue that he didn’t care about most people in his life until class 1-a. his middle school goons weren’t really friends to him, just extras. class 1-a and him have gone through too much together — whether it was battling villains or just the strenuous effort of being at UA — for an emotional bond to not form, even if he won’t admit it. he also created very good bonds with the disaster squad while helping train the kids but idk when that group will be touched again.

that all being said once he does get there the sudden realization that he has f e e l i n g s would be pretty cool to explore especially if he just assumed he was like asexual or aromantic his entire life.

Ohohohohohohoho I’m glad you both asked about Kirishima’s pack cause boy do I have answers - okay first things first, Kirishima is only dating Bakugou and he’s the only wolf shifter in the pack (well, Mina is also a shifter, just not a wolf shifter)

In the AU pack dynamics are loosely based on how wolf packs work in the wild: in nature usually there’s an alpha couple (the “alpha male” and his mate) and the rest of the pack is made out of their pups! So by all means it’s just a family unit - once the pups are old enough to fend for themselves they leave the “pack” to form their own family - they’re social animals, so they need a pack to be happy and safe, and that reflects in the AU too. In this universe though it’s pretty normal for wolf shifters to date/marry non-shifters or shifters of other kinds, and when that happens the resulting kids might or might not have shifting abilities, which results in the process of forming a pack being a bit all over the place

In Kirishima’s case, he was born by two non-shifters who had shifter blood in them - as a wolf shifter his wolf side needed a pack to feel well (let’s say, other wolves to play with and learn from and so on) so as a kid he used to spend a lot of time with Fat and Amajiki (both wolf shifters!) who acted as a surrogate pack for the wolf in him - now he’s old enough to have his own pack tho! And while ideally that would mean he builds his own family with another wolf shifter, he ended up falling for Bakugou, who’s a non-shifter and a man, which means the family plan sorta went down the drain. His wolf still needs a pack to be happy tho, and that ended up meaning he latched onto Mina (a childhood friend) and Kaminari and Sero (Bakugou’s close friends) who by this point are as close to him as if they were actual family.

So in theory Kirishima’s wolf side sees the pack as himself and Bakugou as the alpha couple and Mina, Sero and Kaminari as the “pups” - practically though Kirishima’s human side has a perfect grasp on his wolf’s instincts, so all in all it ends up just being five pals loving each other like family, no power imbalance at all (…he does get clingy after his pack members spend time with people outside of the pack, but he doesn’t ever try to stop them from socializing outside of the group and cuddles and general close proximity are all he needs to make his wolf feel better!)

…as you can see, I spent more time on this AU than strictly necessary haha

(Kaminari and Sero cause they’re friends, Shouji and Tsuyu cause the resulting fusions are the only two Mineta fusions with no sexual tendencies at all. They just. Suppress that side of Mineta completely) He’s more or less stable with another few in the class, but the only perfectly stable ones are those four!

Uhmmm lemme see if I know how to word this properly… it is true that I ship every possible couple out of the four of them, and it’s also true that I ship the ot3 separately too (though I always prefer it if Kiri and Baku are together for ~otp reasons~ haha) and I guess I don’t mind the ot4 either? They give me a warm feeling and I love to think about them happy and together all flopped over each other and being affectionate and loving, but all of this can happen with them being in a really close frienship too, right? And I generally prefer them in that sort of relationship

The reason why is mostly that… how do I put this, every couple and trio have their own very singular dynamics, right? Bakugou and Kirishima’s relationship is gonna be different from Bakugou and Sero’s or Sero’s and Kirishima’s or Kaminari and Kirishima’s, they all have different moods and different feelings and so on, which means that they will have different ways in which they’ll develop too, I don’t know if you’re following me. I’m not saying that it’s impossible for all four of them to develop romantic feelings towards all the other three at the same time starting from such different relationships, it’s completely possible and that’s why I don’t mind the ot4 at all, but when I have such a huge playground to enjoy so many different friendships and relationships and dynamics, boiling them all down to the same “they’re romantically into each other” cuts a lot of the fun, for me!

So tl;dr what I mean is that I don’t mind the ot4 and I might draw for it in the future, but it’s more entertaining for me to pick a couple/ot3 and see how the other dynamics shift because of it then just put them all in the same relationship!

Also, I’m a fan of the idea of the four of them ending up being overly affectionate and tactile with each other anyway, so in the end romance or not what’s missing is just the kisses, isn’t it? I don’t draw n sfw anyway haha

BnHA Chapter 167: Every Breath You Take

Previously on BnHA: Todo, Bakugou, Inasa, and Camie were assailed by a bunch of six-year-olds with some admittedly impressive quirks. We learned about the theory of “quirk singularity” which basically says that quirks are going to keep getting more and more powerful with each generation until they become impossible to control. Not sure if this will come up again, but it’s a cool concept. The adults watching were all “...” but it turned out that the Baby-Sitters Club had things under control. They easily blocked the kids’ attacks, and then used their own quirks to create an awesome playplace for the kids with a giant ice slide. (Oh yeah, and we also learned that CAMIE HAS A FUCKING ILLUSION QUIRK. So that was cool too.) Bakugou had a heart to heart with the bratty leader of the kids, and told him that he wouldn’t be able to grow unless he learned to stop looking down on other people. Yes, Bakugou actually said this. Yes, that Bakugou. Not to be outdone, Endeavor now appears poised to start his own journey of becoming less of an asshole. This is exciting, you guys. I’m excited.

Today on BnHA: The babysitting squad bids farewell to the kids, who have now been totally reformed and are all polite little angels. The U.A. and Shiketsu teachers discuss plans to work together in the future and foster a closer relationship, seeing as both schools have had their students targeted by the League of Villains. Endeavor tells Shouto he’s proud of him and vows to become a man Shouto can be proud of too. The internship arc wraps up and we learn that U.A. suspended the kids’ internships with Ryuukyuu and Fat Gum for the time being, and that Eri has woken up and is doing better, but she’s still in the hospital for now while they analyze her mental state and try to figure out how to handle her potentially lethal quirk. A few days later, we catch up with Deku, whose affections Aoyama seems to be trying to pry by randomly giving him cheese. Later that night, in what is unquestionably the single most terrifying scene in this series to date, Deku hops into bed only for the camera to pan over to Aoyama, who is standing pressed up against Deku’s balcony door, just fucking watching him sleep. Good night, everyone.

I’m thinking back to Katsuki and Izuku’s chaotic middle school now, and it’s safe to say that place had a similar problem with a lack of decent quirk counseling and education. their teachers basically just let the kids go off whenever and use their quirks all the damn time. whoever was tasked with teaching them responsibility and ethics clearly fucked up in a major way

anyway, it seems these kids have now been nudged onto the proper path, and their sensei is vowing to teach them well

so now they’re bidding the tykes farewell, and Gang Orca is appraising how they did in the assignment

her teacher says that they’re talking about forming a closer relationship between the two schools and sharing information with each other

and part of the reason why is that they still don’t know why Camie was attacked, and it would be easier to figure out if they worked more closely with U.A.

maybe less of a good call if you actually want your students to stay out of the constant-villain-attacks-and-secret-traitors shitshow that U.A.’s got going on, though

so apparently they’re talking about setting up some cooperative training exercises between the two schools. ooh, that would be fun. I’m on board for this

but the thing is that Shouto doesn’t know any of that, and as far as he’s concerned, Endeavor’s still the bastard who spent Shouto’s entire life telling him “I created you to surpass All Might” in addition to the various other bastardly things

so when Shouto hears “I’m proud of you” from this man, I have to assume he’s going to take it as Endeavor being proud of how strong he’s become in terms of mastering his quirk. like, “good on you, you’re closer than ever to becoming the perfect little super soldier puppet I created you to be.” rather than “I’m proud of you for the good person you are and for the strength of character that you’ve shown today and continue to show and that you certainly never got from me”

anyways, yeah. so Shouto looks quite angry, actually

there’s a lot going on in just that one simple sentence, though

for starters, it’s an acknowledgement that Shouto is rightfully not in the least bit proud of him right now (on account of him having been a piece of shit this entire time). and then obviously, it’s also a promise to become a better person. not just a stronger person, but a better man

so, yeah. I like this. progress. finally some long-overdue steps toward making things right

(ETA: honestly, I love that Horikoshi had the nads to go for an Endeavor redemption arc after going out of his way to make him as unlikable as humanly possible. it’s like he purposely set the challenge level to the highest possible difficulty and then took a deep breath and said “okay, let’s do this.” looking back at Endeavor’s introduction and even his character profile, it’s clear he had this whole thing planned from the start, but he patiently played the long game and took no shortcuts, and all in all I’m extremely impressed.)

Shouto doesn’t look like he has any idea how to react to this, and he’s mostly just still irritated

I fucking love moments when mentors are looking on at their kids proudly and the kids aren’t aware of it and so they just keep on doing whatever it was that made the mentor proud to begin with. there is such fondness in All Might’s expression here. it’s so gentle. he is so proud of them in this moment. and Bakugou isn’t aware of his hero’s eyes on him; he’s just looking back at Shouto, who he’s been getting on with to a degree that would previously have been shocking tbh. and of course we got the reminder just two chapters ago that Bakugou does know about Shouto’s history with his father, so I interpret this glance here as just him quietly assessing his classmate’s status after that chat with dad, and making sure he’s all good so he can recommence being annoyed by everything he does and making sure he knows it. and meanwhile Shouto is just caught up in his own thoughts, but just like All Might said, he is making progress. little by little he is figuring out how to move on.

just, there’s so much going on here and I didn’t even get into all of it, honestly. but basically I just got caught up in the moment and remembered how much I love this series and its characters omg.)

and now we’re cutting to class 1-A a few days later!

well, I suppose that makes sense. the provisional license exam was probably set on September 1st or around then. so they’ve been doing these supplementary courses every weekend since then, so this was probably like their fourth one. one of these days I’m going to have to make a timeline, if there isn’t one out there already

BnHA Chapter 163: Reunions and Provisional License Training

Previously on BnHA: Gran Torino and Naomasa cornered Kurogiri in the middle of the woods somewhere. It looked like they were about to capture him, but then this big Goron-looking dude stomped in out of nowhere and we cut away from the scene, so who even knows what’s going on with that. Back at the hospital, Deku had a chat with Mirio, who was amazingly cheerful -- the last thing Nighteye said to him was to keep smiling, and he intends to follow through with that. Deku had a moment of guilt-stricken weakness because Mirio had been so amazing while he himself had needed help from everyone. He started to offer Mirio One for All, but Mirio cut him off and said that even if it was “hypothetically possible” for Deku to give him his quirk, he wouldn’t accept because that would only leave Deku in the same situation that he’s in right now. He also said that Aizawa told him they would be working hard to figure out a way to restore his quirk. And Nighteye’s last prediction was that he would be an outstanding hero, and he believes in him. Having been successfully cheered up, Deku returned to school with the other kids. The next day, BAKUGOU AND TODOROKI HEADED OFF TO THEIR PROVISIONAL LICENSE COURSE. YOU GUYS. THEY’RE BACK.

Today on BnHA: The internship kids return to their classmates who have been WORRIED SICK and don’t hesitate to inform them of this. Ochako and Kirishima have quiet moments of reflection about why they want to become heroes and how far they have to go, respectively. The next morning, Bakugou and Todoroki head off to their supplemental training course, chaperoned by All Might and Present Mic. We learn from All Might that Gran Torino and Naomasa managed to capture Kurogiri, but were in pretty bad shape after their confrontation with the Giganto dude, who apparently leveled half the mountainside during their battle. Over at the license exam training course place, Endeavor makes an appearance, having come to watch Shouto train. He also says he wants to have a chat with All Might. Meanwhile Shouto is greeted by his new best friend Yoarashi Inasa (who is still my favorite), as well as For Reals Camie, who we’re meeting for the very first time. Also Seiji of meatball quirk fame is here as well just for laughs. The chapter ends fairly abruptly, but it’s all good because this is going to be a good arc full of fun times you guys.

Bakugou in the number one spot once more! that post-Kamino character development was so good that his popularity managed to withstand 40 straight chapters of being completely absent from the plot. pretty impressive

there is literally only ONE vote separating Shouto and Deku, oh snap. Shouto’s popularity also held up pretty damn well during the Internship arc. absence truly does make the heart grow fonder

Kirishima has moved up a spot! fucking superb you funky little rock man

and a surprise guest breaking into that no. 5 spot, Iida fucking Tenya! wow! beat out Aizawa by a good 400 votes. in this post-ponytail world, that is truly shocking to me. once again I will chock it up to his being absent for so long and making us realize how much we truly loved him. although a more likely explanation is that the anime had just finished up the Hero Killer arc right around when this poll was being conducted in the tail end of 2017

I’m delighted to see Kaminari here at number 8, even before his Kacchan moment which is coming up in this very chapter! I love him so much

Shinsou’s got himself some dedicated fans, let me tell you. they are doing the lord’s work, using this poll as a way of not-too-subtly hinting at Horikoshi to drop Mineta from 1-A and replace him with this kid instead. we’ll keep holding out hope

anyway, we’re now cutting to the next day and Bakugou and Todoroki are walking to the train station

is this the arc that’s going to make me ship TodoBaku. it is isn’t it. it’s already happened for Deku, Ochako, and Kirishima, it was only a matter of time before Strawberry Shortcake got in on this too

first of all, I highly doubt that. Bakugou strikes me as being way too much of a type A to ever be late for anything, and Todoroki also has an air of impeccable punctuality about him

so Aizawa was leading the course previously, then? he’s the one who supervised whatever insanity led to Shouto’s nose getting broken and the two of them basically looking like they’d been hit by small cars? I guess he’s only a mom when he feels like it huh

(ETA: so when All Might says “leading the group”, what he really means is “accompanying the two kids to and from their lessons for safety purposes.” which makes more sense. and means that contrary to what I just said, not only does Aizawa continue to be a mom, he’s now a goddamn soccer mom on top of everything else.)
