Once again these are bite sized. Get it? Because vampires...and werewolves....

Context: Hyun and my Blood Moon self-insert exist in the same play through. Dr Dan doesn't have werewolves to contend with in canon so I'm shoving him in Mahim's alpha verse get along you two. Ash and Alice both need child leashes and should never come within city limits of each other.

Blood Moon and Thicker Than are both written by @barbwritesstuff and the greatest pieces of literature I've had the pleasure to read.

Hyun only doesn't flinch because they're dead. They meet Minjo's eyes, and she gives a little shrug. Great. Well, it probably is. She looked a lot worse when she thought Hyun was getting decapitated.

"Alpha has a question for you."

"Okay?"

Then, there's a foot on the back of Hyun's chair, tilting them until they're looking up into golden eyes. "I want to know if your kid enjoyed the movie."

Eventually, one of Nathan's students approaches the bleachers. "So...what are you?"

The werewolf looks up from her phone. Apparently Dan getting shot point-blank convinced her she doesn't need to keep as close an eye on him as her boss-man--her words--instructed.

She grins at the kid, eyes hazel and teeth all human-teeth-size. "What do you think I am?"

After a bit of shuffling they finally answer, "Well, you're...not a vampire."

"I'm not." She sticks out her hand and the human gives a small flinch. "See? Pulse and everything."

The veins are blue and visible against her pale skin, soon covered by the human's bronze fingers as they give her a feel. Something deep in the recesses of Dan's mind stirs. Werewolf blood....

"So, what can you do?" the human asks.

She reaches down to one of Dan's discarded bottles and gives it a sniff. "Squirrel."

She sets it down and picks up another one. "Raccoon."

Again. "Mmm...mostly rat, some mice."

She stills when she smells the next one. A flicker of gold enters her eyes, and a chill runs down Dan's spine.

"Rabbit," she mutters, tossing the bottle aside.

Ash learned soon after moving in with Roe: he loves baking. Loves it. He's good at it, to boot. He's considered more than once sending Alpha Addie a batch of cookies after he finally got the recipe down. Though, the logistics of sending enough for the entire pack through the mail makes him think he should wait for the next clambake.

Speak of the devil, he thinks when his phone vibrates the tone of the pack in the city. His pack a small part of him still thinks.

He opens the text immediately when he sees it's from Ed. Someone's graffiti'd a rabbit on the husk of a burnt-out building, surrounded by the words LONG LIVE THE QUEEN. Ash reads the message Ed sent with it. He reads it again.

Hyun grits their teeth and steps forward. "You can't stop me from seeing--"

Chris stumbles back. Hyun realizes they haven't grit their teeth: they've bared them. Like they're correcting someone in the Court who thinks fledglings can't bite.

They step back, twice, and feel death steal back over their features. It makes Chris look more scared than when they had their fangs out.

Hyun moves their body into an expression he knows: head to the side, eyes down, like when Hyun caved whenever they argued, when he took everything when they divorced. Hyun's home. Hyun's car. Hyun's son. Hyun's dog. "You're right. I shouldn't see him."

If you like wayhaven try and check out:

@barbwritesstuff Bloodmoon and Thicker Than - the themes are different but you get vampires and werewolf in modern times creating a bond with others peers plus you have to solve mystery and navigate powerplays so they’re both very fun!

@vapolis Remember You Will Die - it’s a bit darker theme wise(cyberpunk/sci-fi), but the MC is so fun and unhinged and the RO’s as well haha

@vendetta-if Vendetta - again different theme but you have complicated family, you get cool powers and the fighting scenes are chef kiss imo

@pressplay-if Press Play - it’s music themed. It’s an esclusive interview with the members of a retired famous band after years since they disbanded. The author said it’s a tragedy and your MC is probably not gonna have an happy ending with the ROs so you’ve been warned haha

@apt502-if Apartment 502 - Kind of has a New Girl/Friends vibes. It’s a slice of life, you move to New York and get a new job, meet new people but you also lose someone… it has sooo many choices and opportunities for customising your MC, fyi your MC is not gonna have an easy time in the beginning just so you know

@loveandleases Love and Leases - slice of life, you get to move on after a break up and some family drama. Lots of nice ROs with different vibes and personality, also I’m a sucker for these sitcom like ifs cause I love to see how it goes and evolves!

I’m add some fantasy options ‘case I really like these too.

(Some of them have some warnings so i suggest read those before checking out the actual if!)

@virtues-end Virtue’s End - I’m a sucker for the aesthetic of this if, gives me gothic fantasy Middle Ages with a little bit of Bloodborne vibes sprinkled in there and I’ve been loving all the chapters (also Shea has me and my mc in a chokehold hahah)

@night-market-if The Night Market - I really admire and appreciate the world building of this if (also love all the hints at mythology and take on some religions in it) and how it’s not all so black and white for the characters, in the sense that even if I don’t agree with the choices of some characters I still get where they’re coming from and for me that’s characters well written that I enjoy!

@louroth Ouroboros - darker theme, apocalyptic vibes but with some magic and fantasy in there. I like the different MCs you can make and you also have some monster options for the ROs, if you like that!

@ataleofcrowns A tale of Crowns - The setting for this if is one of my faves and all the ROs are captivating yet diverse along with their backstory and I love the building of the MC as well (check out D storyline if you like the angst of A’s in Wayhaven, they’re very different but the angst hits good)

@coeluvr Crown of Ashes and Flame - I really like the setting and, again, you can seek vengence, if you want, and the characters are all interesting and you can get a nice dose of angst if that’s what you like

@llamagirl28 The Bastard of Camelot - again really enjoy the theme of Arthurian legends and the spin the author chose. You get a lot of options for the ROs to pick from and you can also choose the type of relationship you’ll have with your parents AND you get a dragon (read the warning before playing and make sure you’re comfortable with what you’re gonna read)

@intimidatingpuffinstudios The Soulstone War Series - again fantasy with magic, dragons, an interesting plot, you get a donkey and the RO’s are all hot hahaha

@fallenhero-rebirth The Fallen Hero Series - superhero themed but in an apocalyptic world and you play as the villain! It was one of the first if’s I’ve played and I still replay it every once in a while cause I really like it!

Hi! My name is Bellamy, I’m in my mid 30s, neurodivergent, pansexual and nonbinary. My pronouns are ey/em (alternatively they/them is totally fine). IRL I’m not out and I live in Eastern Germany, originally I’m from Southwestern Germany. English is my second language.

2. Can you tell me a bit about what you’re working on right now and your journey into interactive fiction? What inspired the game/story you’re currently writing?

The IF I currently work on is called ‘Suevi’, and it’s a story set in/around 14 CE. The MC is of Germanic origin and gets enslaved. They get bought by a rich, influential Roman patrician family and have to face the struggle of being thrown into a completely different culture, that has a language they don’t know, and they’re at the very bottom of the food chain.

My journey into interactive fiction is actually relatively short. Suevi is the first IF I’m writing, and the first major project that I write. Before I started on Suevi, I hadn’t written anything bigger since my school days, I haven’t done any creative writing at all actually. And even though Suevi is only a prologue and the first chapter now, it is already the largest project I have ever written.

I remembered ‘Choose your own Adventure’ books from my childhood, and I loved them back then already. I love RPGs, and had played visual novels before, but somehow only found out about interactive fiction around half a year before I started my own IF. I fell head over heels for the interactive format.

My story is inspired by different aspects: My brother is a big history nerd and is very interested in Germanic tribes throughout history. I grew up in an area where different tribes that are said to have been Suevi settled in, and I was able to visit remains of the Roman Limes wall and different related museums in the past. A big inspiration was also the IF Defiled Hearts: The Barbarian by Haley Mattos, an amazingly written IF that I can only recommend. I wanted to give back to the IF community, and that’s what ultimately started the project.

3. What are some of the most rewarding or challenging aspects of writing Interactive Fiction for you?

The most rewarding aspect is definitely the feedback. It’s great to see that people enjoy my story and care enough to let me know, or give me constructive criticism to help me improve my story.

4. What does your writing process look like? Any rituals or habits? Any tips, tricks, philosophies or approaches that have worked very well for you?

It helps a lot to have one designated area dedicated to writing/working. Also, be comfortable—wear comfortable clothes, put on some music that helps to immerse you into your story if you want, maybe have a few snacks nearby and a beverage of your liking.

5. What’s the one thing you’re really proud of that you’ve written so far?

I’m not that far into writing the story just yet, but I’m rather proud of the intimate fling scenes I’ve written in chapter 1. It was a first for me, and at the beginning I really struggled to find the right words, but I know it’ll become easier with time.

6. Do you have favourite interactive fiction games, characters, scenes or authors that you’d like to recommend?

Too many! There are lots of great authors out there that deserve some spotlight, but I fear I don’t have enough time and space to name all of them. I already mentioned Defiled Hearts: The Barbarian (@defiledheartblog on tumblr), which has a very similar theme to my own IF. An amazing IF with a nonbinary RO and a trans RO is Blood Moon by Barbara Truelove (@barbwritesstuff on tumblr). A WIP IF that is completely underrated imo is Party of Four (@partyof4game on tumblr), which has an asexual RO and a nonbinary RO. Zo, the author of Party of Four, is also ace! Lastly, an author that I really look up to is C.C. Hill (@when-life-gives-you-lemons-if on tumblr). She is amazing, I love her writing, she’s incredibly inclusive and a pleasure to interact with.

7. If you were to say one thing to your readers, other authors, and/or the interactive fiction community: what would it be?

To readers: Please be kind to others. Lately there has been a massive wave of hate and harassment in the community, and it drives away kind and talented people who just want to share the stories they write. Support the works and authors you want to see more of. If you like an IF, send the author a nice message. It makes us smile and gives us the energy to continue writing.

To authors: Be kind to yourself. Take breaks. If you don't take breaks, your writing probably will be subpar, because you need a break sometimes, and you will have to fix everything you write after you actually do end up taking a break. It will also save you from feeling burnt out from writing. Don’t forget to hydrate. Only write a story if it makes you happy. You don’t owe it to anybody to continue writing a story you are fed up with; and if you don’t enjoy your own story, it will show.

Um... So this is what I would imagine the scene goes for me, art block is trying to get me that's why the art look weird and no effort (I'm sorry :[ I tried my best)
