The name of the game is hit it and squid it 🐙 Today was a day for wandering and dedication to the fine craft of filling one's belly 😍 We wandered through the cool and windy streets of the #gothicquarter today before stopping at @la_boqueria for a feast! We dined of #eggs with #babysquid and #razorclams from the insanely wonderful @elquimdelaboqueria and then moved on to #BarPinotxo where we dug into #cockles, #squid with #whitebeans, and our personal favorite of the whole day (because an abuela ordered us to get it) #rabbit ribs 😍😍😍😍 We tried to earn our dinner after a siesta by trekking up to #parcguell, #Guadis home in Gracia, one of the villages that has become part of the city, and damn did those steps work us. However, it is without a doubt, the best view of the city and the most amazing gardens we have ever stepped in. Then, of course, it was 10 pm and once again time to eat so we stopped at @elnacionalbcn for #patanegra (the Iberian cured ham that is feed acorns and is essentially the happiest animal) and #arroznegro. #ElNacional is housed in a wonderful art noveau style building with several sit down areas serving different specialities, the pictures alone are 👍 but the food is wonderful. We ended the night at @vinitus, a super modern #tapas bar in #leixample where the start was the #foiegras with #apples 😍😍😍 So, I guess this would be a good time to tell you all we are moving to #Spain and never leaving? Barcelona, is #shellfish for me to say I'll miss you, don't change? It's our last night here in beautiful #Barcelona and we decided to take the day to enjoy the very best of #Catalan culture and food. We dined at @sergidemeia, a restaurant that is mixing modern techniques with historic #catalan dishes (some from the 16th century 😱) such as the #porktrotter #meatballs with #shrimp and the fritters with #cremecatalan we enjoyed. We also sailed the #Mediterranean today with the new programs from @airbnb experiences! It was a total blast- swipe through to watch Brian being a weirdo on the #boat. Finally, we got our #churros and #chocolate fix from #xurreriaSanRoman, where the owner who is original from Madrid claims that no one in Barcelona gets his vision because they don't appreciate the subtleties of good churros 😂😂😂- well, we appreciated them!!! Totally fantastic! Life tastes better with a pinch of #pintxos 👍 ( a copious amounts of #wine 🍷 to go along with all the #tapas and new friends👍). We had a killer time today on the #picoteo #foodcrawl with our new friends from @foodlovertour here in #barcelona! Without giving away too many of their secrets, we dined on #pintxos (small bites on bread), ate in an 100+ year old bar, ate in one of the most beloved tapas bars from the #santantoni market which is still under construction, tried one of the new breweries here in #barcelona, and finished off with desserts including an amazing, in season #figtart along with pouring copious amounts of #vino, using a #porron, straight into our bodies like Ashley does in this video 😂😂😂 not only did we get a drink and more than a few bites to eat in each spot but our fearless leader Christina of @foodlovertour was there not only with the food but the history behind it. Of course, here at @queenseats, we know that history is food and food is history; everything tells a story and #catalan food does that more than most. It's a story of strife and independence- one of struggle and joy in community. Truly a beautiful thing- hit them up for a great meal and a great time!! Everest might be tall but #Barcelona is the tapa the world 🌎 🇪🇸 Barcelona is an amazingly beautiful city full of #Gaudi modernisme (art nouveau) architecture and rich history, but let's be real y'all, we are here to do all that for sure but we are also here to eat! Barcelona, like most of Spain, is a culinary dream! Passion describes everything about the food here; and we dug right in. We enjoyed a late lunch of #manchego, #chorizo, #catalan #truffleham, and #tortilla from the easily missed but seriously classic @labodegueta- you can't go wrong with cured meats and cheese plus 2 euro #wine and a little #tortasantiago, or almond cake, and this place does it better than most. We took a break from eating to visit #lasagradafamilia, Gaudi's unfinished church, and it was awe inspiring- so beautiful and so imposing 😍 Usually, we aren't church goers, but as they said on #parksandrec, they know how to build an edifice. Even though we aren't in Galicia, we heard of a killer #gallego place serving #pulpo (octopus) and it didn't let down- perfectly spiced pieces of 🐙 cooked so they were soft and delicious from @o_meu_lar_ ! Finally, it is really summer here in #barcelona, so, of course after the 7 or so miles of walking this city, we had to stop for #horchata from a local legend @sirventbarcelona, and it did wonders- refreshingly cold and served up it up old school.
