Everyday is a precious day, we should enjoy it through traveling with our group and to taste a lot of delicious foods in the land of Ilocos region, with the beautiful historical places and with there famous empanada and other delicious delicacy. First is the Bagnet or also known as a "Chicharon" or titsaron in ilocano that was originally located in Ilocos Norte as one of there famous food, that your group will enjoy it. They also have famous Ilocos Empanada that has specifically located in Batac, Ilocos Norte, and it said to have originated from no other that the "Mother of Batac Empanada", Lola Nives "Ibing Conson Layaoen, or most of ilocano called her as "Lola Ibing". Next delicacy that your group will also love to taste it, is the Pinakhet Pizza as everyone known as pinakbet vegetables stew and it converted to pinakbet pizza to be there new version of pinakbet. They also have a Vigan Longanisa as one of there famous cuisine, they also put the Longanisa in there famous empanada that I'm surely that your group will love it, also in Vigan you can see the Calle Crisologo, Baluarte Zoo, and many beautiful tourist attraction there. They also have these cusine called Poqui poqui that your group will like to taste it as the name of food is unique. Next is delicious food delicay that you will love to try is Tupig as it cooked over live charcoal grill, the Tupig is wrapped in banana leaves that will attract your group to taste it as it's smooky flavored. Next thing to try is the Papaitan even though from the name itself Papaitan you will encourage to taste it. Next is the Dudol this is not just there local ilocano desert it is also a perfect symbols of the ilocos food heritage. And for there drinks they have a Basi Wine as a native ilocano fermented alcoholic beverage or wine made, that your group should need to taste it. And the last one that your group should try to taste it is there Dragon Fire it is a fermented wine made with the meat of 100% red dragon fruit.

Title: My Chowder OC - Aace Speedster

Hello! Hello! Here it is! Let me introduce to you, another newest member of the Speedster’s Family! And of course reuniting with their family tree, the Speedster trio's cousin (yes I said "COUSIN"), Aace Speedster! 🐶🐺⭐

(Also, whoever says that my upcoming OC is a "sibling" to Miya Speedster, you're absolutely WRONG, dude.)

IMPORTANT NOTES:

#1: The reason why I chose "Cousin"✅ over "Sibling"❌ for Miya & Aace is because I want Spot & Riya to stay as "twin siblings" & not an additional character who is going to be adopted (outta nowhere or something), like what happened to (Bryan360's) Maxwell & his family adopting Sam as a adopted brother → [CLICK ME!]. If Miya & and Aace are siblings, it'll be one family. But, I want Miya & and Aace as cousins owing to their "different species", thus their middle names we're different (Arellano & Batac) (not their nicknames) based on our real-life family tree.

And #2: Although, I haven't planned to draw their respective parents from Miya & Aace Speedster, yet. Maybe someday, I'll have some time to draw their parents for their proof of identity, story & relation.

Aace's Main Clothes 🔴🔵⭐: ↑

Aace 🐶🐺⭐: Thank yew, creatorr! Pawllo! 👋😊 I'm wearing my current normal clothes. And what yew see here is I'm addicting to "Stars"! They're literally everywhere of my attire, from head to toe! Why? Because, my parents loves seeing the stars during winter nights & we're howl together, along side the full moon. Thus, my mom sewing star shapes on my thickest & softest attire! Particularly, my gloves, hat long sleeve shirt, sweatpants, and even my socks, too. 🧶⭐ Plus, as I'm a Speedster roots, my mom gave me this custom turbo sneakers 🚗👟, which also I put a star as well. Did yew know, that my mom was Mr. Speedster (Bonn) & his twin brother's (Miya's father) big sister? She's the one to adjust & analyze the turbo sneakers by installing ECU tuning chips for better control & improve performance! Yew can't wear turbo sneakers without a better tuning chips, right? That's why, I followed my mom's footsteps as a scientist for vehicles ⚛️🚘🐶👩, as well as being a junior mechanic from my dad's footsteps 🔧🚘.

Aace's 2nd Clothes 🟣💛(a.k.a. Alternate Clothes): ↑

Aace 🐶🐺⭐: My 2nd attire was a normal one & a special one. I visited a person's (HTF OC's) yard sale, when I saw this soft & lovely purple attire. So I asked to the owner "Hey, will this attire suits me?", and then the person replied "I used to wear that. But since I changed my personality, I no longer wear it. Maybe yew can wear it, so try it on." I took that person's word, and I paid $10 for this neat attire. Now, I thought to myself "boys don't wear heart-shaped theme cwothes (clothes)! Especially big boys (like me)", but Nah, why do I care? Girls are not the only one who wears heart-shaped cwothes, boys can wear it, too, because boys have heart! So, when I wear my new attire it fits very well, stretching & embracing my big body! 🥰🤗💜💛 And when my parents shows up with my new cwothes, they looked cute & huggable! So, they accept it! 😊 Also, my furriends had already owned the person's previous cwothes before, so I delighted! 😁

Aace's Pajamas 🟣⚪🌕: ↑

Aace 🐶🐺⭐: Next is my snuggly night attire. They're all purple colored theme fitting for my nice slumber! My sweater had circles all around, symbolize the moonlight 🌕 because I'm half wolf from my dad 🐺👨. My hat, big sweater, pants are the same material as my main and my Autumn/Winter cwothes, which I'll get to that later.🧶 My cute doggy slippers 🐕, on the other hand was gifted to me from my mom because I'm a half husky dog. Yes, my mom is a husky species 🐶👩. Did yew know, that my night attire can be act as a Autumn/Winter, too? I just love bringing my purple attire & play snowball fights. Speaking of which, let's talk about my A/W cwothes now! 😁

Aace's Autumn/Winter Clothes 🍑🌟: ↑

Aace 🐶🐺⭐: The same can be said to my peach colored Autumn/Winter cwothes. Remember what I said the same material as my normal & pajamas cwothes? Well, I was referring to my A/W hat, a slightly big sweater, hat, and gloves. The only exception are my normal looking jeans & a cool yet adorable boots with a snowman image 😊⛄. Unlike my main red sweater that has two-sided stars, my slightly big sweater had only one star on the front, but it does have an additional shapes on each edge of the star. 🌟😁It looks like my star was always bright during Autumn/Winter seasons. 🍂❄️ And like my night attire, my A/W cwothes can also be used as a night attire, only the sweater, hat, and sometimes gloves. Uh yeah, my gloves are similar to my main gloves with the same material (thick & soft). And yew know, why my cwothes are thick & soft was because my family used to lived in the tundra places 🏔️🌨️ before we moved to a different climate and we meet the Speedsters family tree. Nowadays, we are now close neighbors & we can visit the Speedsters family of house as we please. 🏘️🛞😁 The only probwem was their climate different than we used to. Don't worry though, we'll pwactice it.😉

Aace 🐶🐺⭐: Other personalities of mine, aside from my star obssession, such as my pupils are different, my left pupil is aqua blue 👁️🔵, while my right pupil is amber 👁️🟡 due my parents' DNA, my entire thick fur is reddish rather than pink-ish color, and finally my ears & nose are maroon-ish pink color. 🔴 Like my Speedster furriends, I also have my own signature livery roots; a solid red color with twin blue stripes. 🔴🔵🚘 Yew know, its like the opposite of Spot's livery. As for the color rims, I always love plain white just to match my main cwothes. ⚪ 🛞 Uh yeah, and sometimes I put a star on my vehicle. Yew know, because I love stars! 😁❤️⭐Speaking of cwothes, you noticed that I always wear sweatpants? Yeah, I always loved wearing sweatpants because its comfy. 👖🤗 And when the winter cold comes, then I changed to my fitted warm comfy jeans because my sweatpants won't do the job. ❄👖 And, who needs to wear a belt anyway? I don't need it.❌ BTW, why I have an extra "A" letter on my name was because my parents want to fit the four name letters for the Speedsters family tree. So, instead my name is "Ace" its now "Aace" (hence the extra "A" letter). And one last thing, I'm the only 12-year-old who has a huge height & weight appearance compared to my cousin's small height (namely Spot, Riya & Miya). Why? Because I have a shared DNA with my dad, who is a big DAD (not "Bad") wolf! Hehe 😁❤️👨🐺

“Coming from a province in the Philippines, we are housed in a subsidized dormitory in the university. Most if not all of us from the provinces [are] from working class background. It's the only way that we could survive, making a small allowance from our families fit, because we care that back home they also don’t have enough. At some point they wanted to close down our dormitory and the school administration didn't have any backup plans on where they will take us. It was so out of the blue that they wanted to kick us out, because apparently, they said that they wanted to renovate it. But we didn't trust them, that they really had any plans. This was in the context of the privatization of education. These things were just theoretical, conceptual to me; I had studied that. But now, this was in my own experience; it made me peer more deeply into my own social background. I felt it was unfair. And I felt that it needed collective action! So, I joined the protests of my dormitory mates and students against that. That also made me realize my working-class background, my coming from the province, the lack of privilege that we had in access to education and social services.” Marc Batac’s journey into activism began during his time in university, when he was living in a dorm. His dorm room, which was a gathering place for friends, quickly transformed into a hub for discussions about politics, social justice, and inequality. It was here that he first began organizing informal meetings to discuss the injustices they witnessed in the Philippines, sparked by the political climate and growing unrest. An Honest Testament of Youth

When I was in high school, I always thought that I would make it straight through life.

I got my plans laid out--- I wanted to be a teacher with an English Major; get my Master's degree and marry the love of my life before I turned thirty.

When our teachers asked us write what we wanted to be when we grow up, they only referred as to what profession we will pursue and not the person whom we wanted to become and embody.

Now that I am nearing my twenty-fourth year, I wish that I knew that I only wanted to become happy.

The pursuit of happiness is a dreading task. Perhaps because during time of pursuing it, we realize how melancholic and sad we are.

During my eight grade, my cousin introduced me to a movie, “The Little Prince”, and I was hooked up by the philosophical essence that it contained.

How can an adult forget his/her imagination— childlike senses—- that helps them to be happy when they grow up?

Now, as a college graduate and a 2 year experience of professional working, I can say that life can get rough as it can get.

I have to juggle both work and my personal life at the same time and often, I find it almost suffocating in the means that I barely have time for myself.

Also, Franz already went to Hawaii three weeks ago and I must say that he took a piece of me with him.

We barely had time together during his remaining months here since there were so many events that took place--- Tito Jo got murdered so there was a month-long funeral and we had to wait for all their relatives to come home before he got buried.

It was a month of mourning, stress, and hassle of busy bodies.

After he got buried, we had to escort his cousins and sister everywhere since they came home all the way from Australia for the funeral, so we didn't really had enough time to be alone together.

Due to the present situation, the families bid their goodbyes at the condominium and then with a small party, we dropped them off at the airport.

There was only Franz and I, and we were sobbing uncontrollably when we were saying our final goodbyes. Inno was watching us.

"Agan-anus ka baby, urayennak."

It was heart breaking to realize that he and I will not be able to touch, kiss, or be with each other for a long time.

Surreal it was. Ate Gelle and Vien came to fetch me at the airport and as we were driving back home, I could not control my eyes to swell up as I saw the empty coffee cups and a packet of McDo apple pie that Franz and I just ate and drank last night.

It dawned upon me that those nights of driving around trying to get coffee and food together have come to a pause.

Back at the house where we started our relationship and had lived for 2 years, I couldn't sit at the bed without sobbing because I just realized that everything has changed and that I will no longer have in presence the person who makes me laugh and mad every night.

On the afternoon of that very day, I drove around San Nicolas to Batac just to cry my heart out because it was too much for me to handle and I couldn't hid it in anymore.

I realized the value of the slow days... those lazy Sunday afternoons; those late night talks until three AM; those long drives to my hometown.

How i wish to have savored every bit of them.

I wished that we shouldn't have fought that often and enjoyed every time that we had instead.

Now, I have to take care of our dogs while he watches us virtually. I have to wake up and go to work without eating breakfast or even a pack of lunch to eat during afternoon breaks. I am slowly learning to live again with only his virtual presence.

But when I think of it, it was right that we had allowed those times to flash away before eyes the way they were--- slowly.

At times, I feel very lonely and I miss him so bad. I would let him know and it would melt my heart when I hear him say that he misses me too, especially when gets homesick.

Now, we know our priorities and we feel that we have a stronger connection and bond.

Loving a person who is a thousand miles away is difficult but not having him on my life would be unbearable. So, I guess we'll just have to wait until God opens a new path for us to be together again.

Ilocos Norte

Ilocos Norte is part of Region 1, located north-northwest of Luzon. It is a place full of tourist destinations, beaches, adventures and historical sites. There are diverse delicacies too.

The first time I went there, I arrived at Laoag City, the capital city of Ilocos Norte. There I visited the sinking bell tower located just right at the corner of the city proper. I saw their Ilocos capitol too located just at the front of the long Gilbert bridge which connects Laoag City and San Nicolas.

The foods you can find across the streets at dawn are empanada, bibingka, banga banga, miki, mami, hi-boland many more. Their specialty here in Laoag is sweet empanada, its ingredients are wrapper made of glutinous rice flour, cabbage, toge, egg, and sweet longganisa. This food is made and prepared right on the spot. It takes just 10 to 15 minutes to prepare and cook empanada and it tastes so good.

I visited some of the municipalities and cities of Ilocos Norte and I would say, that is an amazing experience I won't forget. Going down to the municipality of Badoc, there is the Birheng Milagrosa shrine, you will see some devotees going in and out of the shrine. You can rest there or you can also rent a floating cottage because the Shrine is located beside the beach. There you can enjoy swimming, unwinding and foodtrip at the beach.

Then from Badoc we will go to the city of great men in Philippine history, Batac City. They have their own specialty of empanada here, and you won't find the sweet empanada of Laoag here. I tried to buy sweet empanada but the vendors told me that they don't sell that flavor here because it is Laoag's special recipe. After eating, I visited the museum where the body of the former president Ferdinand E. Marcos Sr. is placed. The security is strict, you can't take a picture of the late president. You can't even bring your camera inside.

Before I leave Ilocos Norte, I visited the wishing tree at the town of Burgos, and I'm wishing that I could come back again and visit the places I've been. I will cherish this wonderful experience. I hope when the time comes that I visit Ilocos Norte again, I wish I am with my own family.

As licensed agriculturists, they recognized the need for high-quality seedlings to enhance local farmers' productivity and success.   The Genesis of KA-Bukid Propagation Farm Turning an Award into an Opportunity Their venture began with a remarkable win in the 2021 Young Farmers Challenge Fund program organized by the Department of Agriculture. Consequently, with the PHP100,000 grand prize, Kevin and Ana set up their seedling nursery on a 2,000-square-meter agricultural lot owned by Kevin’s grandmother. Strategically situated just a few meters along the Manila North Road in Sitio Nagabaan, their nursery quickly became a beacon of agricultural innovation.  

Backgrounds that Paved the Way

Leveraging Experience for Agricultural Advancement Before their foray into farming, Kevin contributed his skills to a private seed company and an agri-machinery firm, while Ana educated aspiring farmers through short-term agriculture courses offered by TESDA. Their combined experience and passion for agriculture drove them to take the bold step of quitting their jobs and fully dedicating themselves to seedling propagation, a decision they have never regretted.  

The Philosophy Behind the Farm

A Deep Commitment to Helping Farmers For Kevin and Ana, farming goes beyond profit-making; it's about nurturing a love for the job and aiding fellow farmers. They emphasize the importance of being hands-on in managing the farm and constantly seeking innovative ways to enhance profitability. Their holistic approach has not only brought success to their business but also made a positive impact on the local farming community.   Expanding Their Reach Networking and Social Media Savvy KA-Bukid Farm is more than just a local business; it's a growing network. The farm actively participates in agri-trade fairs and utilizes social media to showcase its diverse range of ready-to-plant seedlings, including tomatoes, eggplant, sweet and hot peppers, papaya, and fruit-bearing trees.
