so the medical world, as it were, has this handy little shorthand system that enables clear and efficient communication whether it’s between multiple doctors or a doctor and a pharmacy

for some reason doctors like to ignore this when writing prescriptions

#‘apply one application’ what does that MEAN.#just use!! the sig codes!! that’s what they’re for!!!#‘use orally’ was one i saw today about. pills.#like. just say PO or ‘take by mouth’ if you don’t want to use the sig code……#sure i can (usually) figure out what you mean but why are you so bad at writing directions #(also! sig codes are convenient for our computer system esp if the patient doesn’t speak english well or at all #bc the computer can automatically translate sig codes into the preferred language)
