Miscellaneous Hector Headcanons! SFW!
A short list of me contextualizing Hector in the real world versus the object world. Please feel free to comment your thoughts! Also, I haven't explored anything beyond Hector's romance route, (yes, I'm talking about [ ] which I don't yet know the details of!!) so please keep things spoiler free if you'd like to comment!
🎭 Hector lived, breathed, slept Shakespeare as a child/teenager. Like ugh, he'd never seen such beauty in poetry before! Every lesser-known sonnet, every underrated play, Hector studied them all, agonizing over Shakespeare's wit and mastery of iambic pentameter, hoping to one day emulate even just the faintest shadow of his literary prowess. In fact, so enamored with the mystique of theater, Hector secretly longed for the stage.
🎭 It probably comes as no surprise those dreams were never realized.
🎭 God, it took him ages to recover from his Hamlet audition. (Or, did he ever?) The hours he spent practicing his lines, the paragraphs upon paragraphs of dense analysis searing his retinas at 3AM. To think it amounted to nothing? Hector still cringes at that particular chapter of his youth.
🎭 He can still see his taped mark from behind the cover of red velvet. Feel how his legs turned to lead, willing them to step up, but they wouldn't— couldn't move. Oh and the sounds of the drama directors shuffling through their clipboards, somehow taking the driest sips of water as they conferred their watches over the winding minutes? Don't remind him. (Sorry Hector)
🎭 Yeah, turns out stage fright and acting exist as such irreconcilable antipodes it's simply possible for them to find any common ground. Let alone cease their vying for control over Hector's autonomy so that he might dare to try again. Life lesson swiftly learned.
🎭 Although, he makes for an excellent stagehand! Working behind the scenes, that's much more Hector's speed anyway. He's content to spectate from the shadows, wistfully mouthing Juliet's lines as she laments her dear Romeo, Hector's arm maneuvering the industrial-grade fan so that her curls gently dance in the synthetic moonlight at just the right rhythm.
🎭 Outside drama club, crew work is thankless, but it's something Hector takes pride in. Without stagehands, there'd be no production to enjoy, after all! (To me, Hector makes so much sense as a theater kid lmfao)
🎭 Side note: I used to live in the heart of a city that had Shakespeare fests/ren faire parades/events. I feel like Hector would attend those?? Fair-goers would even wear those feathered, masquerade-style masks and get allll dressed up. So maybe he'd utilize such costumes to help with his shyness? I could see him taking advantage of the roleplay pretenses to get out of his shell and embrace a crowd of like-minded people!
🏰 Hector also gives me the vibe of someone who adores The Princess Bride. It's familiar, humorously fantastical, oozing romance with juust the right amount of cheesy, and unapologetically sincere. It's so... safe, and brings him unrivaled comfort when he finds himself yearning for a romance a fraction of the fairytale of which Buttercup and Westley have. (And yes, I feel like he'd love Phantom of the Opera and V for Vendetta for obvious, masked romance related reasons)
💝 Speaking of romance, ohmigod, he's so corny when it comes to Valentine's day. The chocolates, the roses, the oversized, overpriced pink-furred teddy bear. Hector bought them all; tolerated the knowing looks as he waited in line at the grocery store, afterwards writing the most heartfelt card his lover has ever read. (Hector's the type to make someone cry with how personal his letters are.)
💝 If his partner were to reciprocate in kind? Well, he could cry too — wait, he is crying! This is the extravagant display he's longed for: the one where someone isn't afraid to show-off how deeply they're in love with him; how proudly they're committed; to the point they're even willing to endure a bit of social heckling, just as he did. Of course Hector's moved to tears. He just loves them so much! To think his lover could match his affections, he's elated and made humble all at once.

Nobles and Artisans of my Following,
The Curation Walls of Filtering have held fast for so long, but there seems to be a successful invasion of pornbots down among the comments under these posts! Nothing like the Great Bot Wars, at the Turn of the Aughts -- but puissant of late in their numerous arrival in that lower region.
Diligently have i done my k/nightly duty of scrubbing clean all trace of bot and scammy porn from The Lists (but not repelling legitimate sex workers! Never a Report and Block wielded against them, such lovely and deserving creatures all)
K/nightly i have been evaluating all new 'Counts that seek Our Court, conducting security reviews to verify their lifeforce and what sort they be (and mind not all we fight are bots, lest we forget our other enemies existing in the terfdoms and altright lands beyond)
I raise my Report and Block against them, our familiar holy weapons, forged and gifted by the Tumblr Creators, that pantheon of Capricious Devi which sent us these arms wherein we find protection behind a solid Block yet paired with what we oft wish was a sharper and more balanced Report)
I say to you i wield them skillfully! yet still these vile bots persist, this new wave of gross invaders with their battle cry of "Click to See Her Whole Video"
Aye Dee Kay -- perhaps a Greater Botfarmer or the 'Count of some Spampusher has gotten in past our guard.
#whimsical#be it cringe be it wit - just commit to the bit#kinda irritating rash of bots fr tho#hope i didn't fall for some kind of more clever mimic account

The Prophecy
Steve Harrington x fem!reader
After recommending a movie to you, Steve invited you you over to watch it with him and to his surprise, you agree.
This has been sitting in my drafts for a while and I have no idea why I never posted it.
Based on “The Prophecy” by Taylor Swift because that song is Steve.
Steve would be the first to admit that his sex life is nothing but vanilla. He’s always on top and always so sweet and gentle. But now he’s starting to wonder if that’s the problem. If that’s the reason why women don’t seem to want anything more than a one night stand.
He doesn’t get it. He used to be King Steve and now he can’t even get a call back? What the fuck is that about? He goes on a date almost every night and still somehow the only action he gets is with his hand.
The “you suck” side of Robin’s board is so full that she had to get another one and what started as a harmless joke has now made Steve start to think badly about himself. He used to have so much confidence and now it’s withering away bit by bit with each rejection.
He thinks all hope is lost until you walk in to Family Video. You’re all smiles as you ask him for a suggestion and he’s convinced it’s all a prank. It’s going too well if he’s being honest. You’re laughing at his jokes and genuinely seem interested in what he’s recommending. He’s now wondering if Robin put you up to this so he’d stop complaining to her about being single.
He decides it doesn’t matter and that he’s going to play along because you’re pretty and now he’s following you around the store like a lost puppy, holding a large stack of tapes that you’ve handed to him. Normally, he hates when people treat him like he’s their personal shopper but he’s going to let you do whatever you damn well please. You might as well tell him to jump because he’ll ask how high.
“Is this one any good?” You ask, holding up a tape to him and he audibly gasps. He didn’t think anyone hadn’t seen the movie so the fact that you haven’t is genuinely shocking to him.
“You’ve never seen the Princess Bride?” He’s acting like he just witnessed you commit a crime. Sure, you’ve heard of the movie and listened to people rave about it, but there’s something about it that turns you off.
“No,” you shake your head and Steve plucks the VHS from your hand and heads over to the counter with you following him.
“I can’t allow that. You’ve gotta watch it. It’s one of the best movies of all time. So, I’m renting it to you.”
“Well, maybe we can watch it together.” Are you…flirting? He hasn’t been flirted with in so long that he’s having a hard time telling whether it’s that or you’re just being friendly.
“Y-yeah. I’ve got whole movie theater in my basement. We can watch it there.” That’s become his make out spot when everyone found out about skull rock, but this time, he just wants to watch a movie with you.
“It’s a date,” you glance at his name tag to get his name. “Steve. Can I call you, Stevie?”
“You can call me anything you want.” He internally cringes at his words, but you seem so into it that he can’t possibly take them back.
“Well, I’m y/n, but you can call me anything you want.” The line completely goes over his head as all he can focus on is your name. He’s heard so much about you and now that he can put a face to a name, he finally understands.
You’re new to Hawkins and it’s clear that you’re the talk of the town as everyone seems to want a chance to either be you or under you. And he can see why. You’re sweet and very easy on the eyes. You’re probably the most stunning woman he’s ever seen and you’re flirting with him? He’s wondering if this is some sort of cruel prank.
You set your purse on the counter then pull out a notebook and pen from it before setting them both on the counter in front of him. “Here, write down your address and I’ll write down my number and you can call me whenever you’re available.”
He’s scribbling down his information so quickly that he’s afraid you can’t read it. But you read over the words without a word then scribble down your number before ripping off the piece and handing it to him. You then put your things back into your purse before pulling out some cash to pay for your rental.
“Oh, he’s always available. How does tonight sound?” Robin has inserted herself into the conversation and Steve really wishes she hadn’t. He can get a date all by himself thank you very much.
“Stop helping me,” he whispers to her and he really hopes you can’t hear him.
“Tonight is perfect,” you smile and Steve swears he’s already in love with you. “Call me when you get off?”
“Oh, he’ll be getting off, alright,” Robin says under her breath and Steve is quick to elbow her in the stomach.
“Seriously, stop,” he turns to her to give her a glare and you honestly just find their whole dynamic to be funny, like siblings. Steve slides the VHS across the counter to you along with your change and as soon as you’re gone, he’s going to let Robin have it.
They’re so engrossed in their conversation that they haven’t even noticed that you’ve left your purse. The bright pink thing is sitting there in front of them they’re not even aware, too caught up in their silly conversation.
“I’m helping you get laid and this is how you repay me?” She asks, leaning against the counter, crossing her arms over her chest.
“I don’t need your help,” he tells her as he heads over to the cart of returns to put them away and Robin follows.
“Clearly you do. Or else I wouldn’t have had to step in.”
“I was fine. I’ve still got it.” He honestly doesn’t know how he even got a date with you since he almost always flounders now. Maybe this will be the one that finally sticks.
“Good for you, dingus, you scored a date with the hottest woman in town. Maybe this time I’ll actually be able to put a tally in the “you rule” column.”
Robin knows that it’s a cruel joke to make when he’s so sensitive about the whole thing, but she can’t figure out why. Even thought hasn’t been and will never be attracted to him, she totally understands the appeal. He’s sweet and funny and much more intelligent than people give him credit for. She doesn’t know why he can’t seem to find someone to settle down with when that’s really all he wants.
She knows he’s not as happy as he lets on, that he’s much more lonely than he tells people he is. That he always goes out with his friends or is over at her house because his is far too big to be alone in.
That’s why he’s always got a girl in his bed so he won’t be going to sleep alone, but that’s how he always wakes up as they always leave him before he’s awake.
It’s not fair, she thinks. That everyone has seemed to have found his person but not him. He’s such a fucking catch so it just doesn’t make sense. She’s really hoping that maybe you’ll be the one.
“Fuck off,” he shoves her away with a laugh. He’s being a good sport about the whole thing, at least that’s what everyone thinks. No one knows that sometimes he’ll go home and have a good cry in the shower because of how alone he feels. And he feels so fucking pathetic for it, but it's the only way he knows how to cope.
The bell above the door jingles, signaling that a customer has entered the store. Steve and Robin turn to see Dustin carrying a stack of VHS tapes he's going to return. He's got a bright smile on his face as usual as he makes his way over to the counter where Steve meets him.
“Everyone’s coming over tonight to watch Star Wars if you guys wanna join,” Dustin says as Steve returns the movies to the system.
“I’ll be there, but Steve has a date,” Robin replies, patting Steve on the shoulder in a congratulatory manner.
“Right, with your hand, a sock, and a bottle of lotion, just like every night?” Dustin is wearing a knowing look and Robin is grimacing in disgust while Steve’s cheeks turn bright pink.
“No,” Steve glares. “With a girl. We’re going to watch the Princess Bride.”
“What’s her name?” He’s asking in a way that makes it seem like he doesn’t believe Steve, but he does. Dustin just likes to give him shit any chance he gets.
“Y/n.” Steve’s tone is smug and Dustin scoffs in response because now he really doesn’t believe him. There’s no fucking way that he scored a date with you of all people. Maybe back in his “King Steve” days, but definitely not now.
“Y/n as in y/n l/n? No way dude. She’s way out of your league.” Dustin is laughing now as if he’s just heard the most funny joke.
“Gee, thanks, Henderson.” Steve grabs the tapes now that he’s put them back in the system, then turns his back, heading for the break room because it’s time for his thirty. He doesn’t have time for this.
He can hear the two of them still yapping as he closes the door. He reaches for his punch card, punching that he’s on his break then grabs his lunchbox from the fridge before sitting down at the table with a sigh.
“She gave him her number and everything. And let me tell you, she’s even hotter than they say.” Robin had never seen you in person until tonight and she totally understands why everyone is head over heels for you.
“Don’t believe me?” She asks, eyeing the purse on the counter that you had apparently left.
“This could be anybody’s,” Dustin glares at her just as you enter the store again. All of the air is sucked out of his lungs as he’s come to the realization that you are in fact real.
“Totally forgot my purse,” you tell Robin with a little laugh as you grab the thing from the counter, slinging it over your shoulder. You then turn in Dustin’s direction, staring at him with your signature bright smile. “And who might you be?” You ask, and Dustin’s mouth goes bone dry as he looks up at you. You really are hotter than they say.
“D-“ he clears his throat before trying to introduce himself again. “Dustin.”
“Dustin,” you repeat and his name sounds so angelic coming from your mouth. “That’s cute. Well, it was nice to meet you Dustin and I'll see you, Rob,” you wave at her from over your shoulder like you’re old friends and yeah, she’s going to be thinking about that for a very long time.
You flee the store yet again and Dustin’s eyes are following you as Robin opens a magazine, staring down at the page to hide her blushing cheeks. He’s trying to figure out how he can become four years older while Robin is crossing her fingers that you’re also into girls.
They both know it’s pathetic, especially since you’re going out with Steve tonight, but they can’t help it. There’s just something about you that draws people to you, like they’re all sailors being lured to their deaths and damn if that isn’t a good way to go.
It’s the way you carry yourself, as if you don’t have a care in the world. And you don’t. You just go around with all of that confidence and maybe that’s why everyone either envies or wants you. You never pay attention to that, though.
None of them truly know you and they don’t care to either. You’re just something pretty to look at, someone who will look good on their arm, but the second they get you into bed or even hang out with you with everyone watching, they’ll leave you in the drop of a hat. Because really, all they want is for you to make them look good.
But Steve? He actually treated you like a person. He wasn’t falling all over you, just genuinely trying to help you find a movie. You’re not usually one to randomly ask someone out, in fact, the whole thing made you super nervous. But he was so eager to agree and that made you feel like your usual self again.
You've heard a lot about Steve. You know his reputation and how he's very popular with the ladies, so you're surprised that he's available on a Saturday night. You figured that someone else would have already snatched him up and put a ring on it. You're both about that age now so it's honestly surprising that he's single. How has no woman in Hawkins come to their senses and married this man? You suppose you should be grateful since you're the lucky woman he's invited over tonight.
Steve exits the break room as soon as his break is over still thinking about you and how he still can't believe how you actually asked him out. The prettiest girl in Hawkins. Maybe he really does still have game.
He makes his way over to Robin feeling more confident than he has a long time. She's scribbling something down in a notebook and he lets out a deep sigh. He was really hoping that she would have gotten bored of that stupid game by now. But apparently not.
As always, his love life has just become a joke to everyone. Because it's just so funny that poor Stevie can't get a date. He'll die alone while everyone else will end up with someone. That's just his fate, he thinks.
The rest of the night goes by so slowly. It's almost painful for Steve to look at the clock, watching the minutes tick by at a glacial pace. He has never been so eager to go home, actually wanting to be there for the first time in a long time.
He's so close to asking Robin to close up for him because he just realized he doesn't have anything to eat or drink besides shitty beer and a pizza that's been in his freezer since he was a kid. But he decides that he'll just hurry to the store on his way home because he's already had her close for him more times than he can count.
"Would it offend you if I picked out your outfit for tonight? Because no offense, Steve, but this,” Robin refers to his outfit. "Is just not going to cut it.”
“Gee, thanks, Rob.” He's already nervous enough and doesn't need Robin making him second guess what he's going to wear even though he was already going to anyway.
“I'm just saying, would it kill you to switch it up every once in a while?”
“Are you of all people seriously trying to give me fashion advice right now?”
“What's that supposed to mean?” She crosses her arms over her chest as she leans against the counter, fixing Steve with a glare. He doesn't actually mean it, he just suddenly feels a lot of pressure about tonight and he's taking it out on her.
"Nothing, I'm just nervous, alright?" He runs a hand through his hair and just by the look on his face, she can see that he's telling the truth.
"Thought you didn't get nervous." She's smiling smugly now and Steve really doesn't appreciate it.
He ignores her and rounds the counter, making his way over to the door, turning the sign to signify that the store is now closed. He's now counting the minutes until he's able to go home, actively watching the hands on his watch tick, tick, tick by.
"I haven't done this in a while, alright?" He asks as he locks the door. "I'm a little rusty."
"A little?” She scoffs and Steve rolls his eyes.
“Alright a lot.”
“You need to relax. It’s just a date.” But it’s not, not to Steve. He thinks this could actually be something and he hopes he doesn’t blow it this time.
“So are you getting out of here or what?”
“What?” The question genuinely catches him off guard. He didn’t think she’d actually want to close for him since she’s done it so many times in the past.
“I can hold down the fort. Go get the girl, Steve.” He smiles widely, before pressing a kiss to Robin's cheek before hurrying out the door to his car. For once, he actually thinks he has a chance and he’s totally going to take it.

༉‧₊˚. reblog + comment!

Growing up as a boy in Shinjuku wasn’t the most ideal plan, but Hanma doesn’t like to find excuses for the way he turned out. For the evil that he is–and is constantly surrounded by. For his own lack of empathy, of human emotion. Hanma doesn’t think it has anything to do with his childhood. After all, he can barely remember bits and pieces here and there–some that stand out to him more than the rest. Most of which include you haunting his every thought.
At 12, Hanma first tasted violence against his father, landing blows with a fury that sent him to juvenile detention for a year. The months passed in a haze of paint peeling off the walls and whispered threats, but soon he was back on the streets of Shinjuku, a boy free again yet changed.
The night was cold and dark. A single broken lamppost flickered weakly, its light barely cutting through the shadows. The electric buzzing pulled him from his thoughts, a sudden awareness that he'd been lost in his mind the whole walk home.
His ears shift from the electric sound to the heavy, dull sound coming from a dark alleyway. A crack, then a moan in pain. It is accompanied with manic laughing, giggles even–and his feet start dragging him to the source of the commotion.
Going out after 10PM in Shinjuku was generally a safe option. The city was a bustling area known for its nightlife and entertainment. There were usually plenty of people around, even late at night. However, Hanma’s neighborhood wasn’t necessarily the safest.
An old, poor neighborhood. Nestled between tall buildings and fancy shops, giving the people a false sense of being in one of the fanciest areas in the city. But it was far from being the truth. Hanma glances at the buildings, a mix of rusted metal and peeling paint glaring at him. He was used to the sight of worn out material and balconies filled with old bicycles. He could even see his own from where he was standing, a birthday gift from his father from 3 years ago, which meant that Hanma had outgrown it with the speed at which his limbs were getting long.
Given the reputation of his neighborhood, this meant that people who would get beat up around here were oftentimes the ones who had fallen victim to the false sense of safety in the area.
Hanma’s sandals drag against the concrete floor as he approaches the commotion, hands buried in the pockets of his shorts and the same uninterested look on his face doesn’t budge when he is greeted with the bruised and beaten up body of a boy around the same age as him. The guys responsible for this freeze when they turn around and see that there was another person present, a witness to the violence they had just committed on the boy who had refused to give them his bike as he was riding back from night classes. Their eyes landed on Hanma, who at 13, was only limbs and bones. One of them lets out a chuckle.
“You lookin’ to join him?”
Hanma’s golden eyes snap from the boy’s figure to the one who talked. He looked older than him, perhaps Three or so years.
“Is that an invitation?””
“I wouldn’t say so.” Another one adds, against the concrete wall. Hanma notes that he tries to appear smug and confident. He had an idea that the boy was quite the opposite.
“More of a threat I’d say.”
“I see.”
A beat of silence follows his nonchalant response, before his fist collides with the jaw of the leader of the trio. The alley filled with a cacophony of groans and the shuffle of worn out shoes on concrete. The leader lunged, fists swinging wildly, his breath heavy with panic as he tried to land a single punch on Hanma’s face.
Three bloodied and beaten up bodies later, Hanma watches as the bruised up boy crawls away from him in fear, curling on himself. Hanma doesn’t say anything as he approaches the boy. He stops and leans down, face dangerously close to his.
“Get the fuck out of here.”
It takes Hanma 2 more years before getting nicknamed Shinjuku’s reaper. He says that he earned the title. And for the first time since forever, Hanma had finally found a source of entertainment, a way to kill time. However, he hadn’t killed. Not yet at least.
When Hanma is 16, he spots you as you walk out of school. Your skirt was short, thigh high socks adorning your legs and he wondered just how soft your skin must be. But that was far from being his priority–not when he was walking around the area with blood coating his white shirt.
He doesn’t expect you to spot him in the place where he is sitting, with a bottle of water in hand, desperately trying to get the blood off of his clothes. Not that it’s ever worked. However, you start approaching him and Hanma looks up from his crouched position, golden eyes boring into yours when you step in front of him with a frown adorning your gorgeous lips. (He’s always wanted to bite them).
“Are you okay?”
He tilts his head to the side, quirking an eyebrow in confusion and perhaps a little offended that you were asking him of all people that question. The hint of worry painting your sympathetic tone, the slight furrow to your eyebrows as you keep glancing between his bloodied shirt and the bottle in his hands. Hanma feels something in him about to snap in your presence.
“Why wouldn’t I be?” He replies gruffly, but you can’t seem to find any malice in his voice. Or the way he was staring you down despite you towering over him.
“You have blood all over you.”
Oh.
You didn’t know that it wasn’t his. And Hanma never told you otherwise. Instead, he took the handkerchief that you had offered him with a dull face–stuffed it in his pocket and watched as you walked away, never asking him to return the fabric. But Hanma being the teenager that he was, thought it would be the perfect opportunity to find you again and perhaps get to know you.
(How do people start conversations again?)
Like a ghost of a memory, Hanma can almost remember the feeling of the handkerchief in his hand. He remembers grazing his thumb over the letters etched onto the fabric, each time coming up with his own guess of what your first and last name were. The feeling of the letter H. is forever engraved in the forefront of his mind. The initial of your last name.
The man’s trip down memory lane is cut short when he hears the sound of annoying flickering above him. Hanma’s eyes squint as he looks up, the electrical buzzing mocks him as it pulls him back to the present. His body aware. Alive yet inexplicably numb.
The built up rust on the chair’s legs make a creaoing noise as Hanma leans back, soulless eyes staring at the dead body with a cold, unblinking gaze. Devoid of any emotion. Reflecting no light or life. He doesn’t remember when he first killed, but this was definitely not the last. His brain is all foggy as he tries to make sense of when his lust for blood first started–what made the death rattle sound so captivating, like a broken record–stuck in his head in a long, torturing loop.
He doesn’t know. Hanma barely knows himself as he is. Referring to himself as Kisaki’s right hand was the closest thing to an identity. He wasn’t a son to anyone, nor a brother. And definitely not a lover.
The events from that night play on repeat in the forefront of his head, no longer trying to hide in the backseat where he keeps most of his unwanted memories. Instead, you plagued his mind. Like a shadow clinging onto the corner of his thoughts, always present–always there. You wouldn’t let him escape.
“Fuck you’re so sweet,”
You moan into his mouth when he angles his hips a certain way, Hanma grins victoriously against your lips and uses his hands to grab the back of your knees. Pushing them to your chest, he enjoys the sight of you taking his cock like a sweet girl. You’re so cock hungry, practically begging him to fuck you silly with those glossy eyes staring deeply into his.
He remembers the look on your face as you slept peacefully in your bed, still dirty with his own cum and spit–yet somehow looking so angelic. As though he hadn’t just ruined you. Like you didn’t have your legs wrapped around his waist and were begging him to fuck you harder, deeper–
Hanma’s finger twitches. A singular bullet cuts through the terrifying silence.
One of the two bodyguards standing before him falls to the ground with a loud thud, his partner looks at his dead body in shock. Terrified, he cannot seem to pull his eyes away from the blood that starts to pool around the body. He is violently pulled out of his numbed state. Hanma’s chair makes a loud, creaking noise he pushes it further back and stands up. Golden eyes stare at his bloodied brown leather shoes and he clicks his tongue in annoyance.
Almost as though the sight of blood was getting on his nerves. Like he didn’t just take someone’s life unprovoked.
Do you need a reason to hurt someone if you have power?
“Clean it up.” Hanma’s cold voice echoes in the empty room, followed by retreating footsteps. As he reaches for his jacket, the chair tips and falls too the ground but neither he nor the bodyguard flinch at the loud noise.
He doesn’t look back as he steps out of the room, simply typing something away on his phone and scoffing at the message that appears on the screen.
We need to talk.
“Fucking bastard.”
—
The artificial light coming from the kitchen cuts through the thick shadows in your hallway, glaring at you from where you’re kneeling on the bathroom floor. Your apartment has never felt emptier. The door to your room is open– pushed ajar in a frenzy and the carpet in your hallway is moved to the side, messily. As though you almost tripped over it as you rushed to the end of the hallway where your bathroom is. At 2AM, you don’t expect people to still be outside, and it makes your chest ache and burn when you hear the occasional humming of a car driving by your building.
And then you lurch forward again.
The bathroom is filled with heavy stillness, punctuated only by the sound of your stuttered breathing. You're hunched over the cold, unforgiving porcelain of the toilet, your body trembling and weak as your hand grips your hair, pushing it out of the way. Bile rises up to your throat, tears coating your lash line before you’re lurching forward yet again. Your stomach was empty. You didn’t have food to throw up again.
You wish you could say that you were starting to get used to this, but you’ve always been scared of throwing up. Something about the taste of bile, the terrifying feeling of losing control over your body–the gagging and heaving. It scared you. Your bottom lip trembles and your entire body shakes as you brace yourself for another wave of nausea. The acidic taste burns in your throat, mixing with the metallic tang of fear and sleep deprivation.
You’ve been throwing up all day. It simply wouldn’t go away.
When you lean away from the porcelain bowl and rest your body against the wall in exhaustion, you pray that your brain spares you yet another flashback. Another reminder of what had triggered this wave of nausea. You can’t get the feeling of his hands off of you, or how dirty and sickening it felt to wake up and feel that his cum was still inside you—the lack of proper aftercare, no sweet words whispered into your hair. Not the Hanma you thought he would be years later. He vanished like a whisper in a crowded room, fading so quickly that you almost wonder if he was ever there to begin with. Almost.
When you glance down at your thighs, you cringe at the stickiness of his cum despite having showered three times. You can feel the ghost touch of his hands gripping your thighs, his voice whispering filth into your ear as he pounded into you like a God. Last night, he was like a God to you. He knew where to touch, where to kiss, how to leave you breathless and clinging onto him like a lifeline–you felt stupid for being so enamored by the man and his dick. For letting him pull the plug so easily, rendering you the lifeless mess that you were on your bathroom floor.
Beating yourself up was no longer an option though, you didn’t have the energy to hate yourself for what had happened. For thinking he had changed despite being so wary of him since day one. You couldn’t even say that you didn’t ignore the red flags because you did. That man was dangerous, and yet you still thought that you could get him to show a different side.
The quietness in the bathroom is replaced with weak sobs.Your cheeks feel wet and hot and you wipe your tears and snot with the back of your hand. It feels so pathetic to be crying over a man, but even more so when it’s someone you initially thought you could trust. Small, pathetic, dirty–and the list of things he made you feel goes on.
How pitiful of you to think you were any special to him.
When the nausea fades away, you feel numb.
The burn in your heart is replaced with an indifference that magically lifts all of the weight off of your chest. You don’t process nor do you remember how you got off the floor, but your hands were now wet and the tap was running. Water splashes against your face. You don’t recognize yourself as you stare at your own reflection in the mirror. There’s exhaustion, dark circles sitting heavy under your eyes. You blink, then you are in the hallway.
Everything after that is a haze, unimportant to your brain as it moves on autopilot and carries you to your room, on your bed and then under the covers. The plushness of the pillow supports your head well, then you finally allow your neck and your jaw to relax. You had a headache, you realize. But it isn’t painful enough for your body to not allow itself to shut down–you don’t fight it.. You were tired.
You have work in the morning, your cat to feed and a few other errands to run. You don’t want to think about him. Just for a day, you want to forget your responsibilities, who you are.
Just for one day.

One does wonder how Toman went from a normal biker gang to the corrupt, ruthless, criminal organization that it became. Upon taking a closer look, at its new leader–everything starts to make sense. The way it’s driven by ambition, manipulation, and violence. All of it reflects the dark goals of its new leader. Kisaki Tetta.
Under Kisaki's leadership, Toman became a shadow of its former self. What was once a gang driven by camaraderie, a sense of brotherhood, and a rough but genuine pursuit of justice, turned into a power-hungry and ruthless organization. Kisaki's manipulative nature corrupted the gang's original values, prioritizing control, fear, and personal gain over any sense of loyalty or righteousness. Everyone was constantly on edge, wary of betraying Kisaki's trust or failing to meet his expectations. His manipulative tactics ensured that everyone was either too scared or too loyal—and his form of punishment consisted of a single word.
Violence.
Hanma embodied the violence that Kisaki needed to ensure that Toman was under his control. If Kisaki’s reaction to betrayal was scary, Hanma’s was terrifying. Savage, barbaric, ruthless. Tall man turned into an even more monstrous version of himself with the snap of Kisaki’s fingers.
However, that didn’t mean that Hanma was obedient. He was far from that.
Up on the last floor of the impressive, imposing building where all of Toman’s business takes place, resided the meeting room. A place where words are shared amongst the dangerous, corrupt men, with the sole promise of never telling a soul. However, the room was eerily silent. The knife that could cut through the thick tension was a testament to that.
The long, round table is empty and the chairs are all pushed to the side messily. Tall windows overlook the gorgeous view of the lively city of Tokyo, the only sound that fills the conference room is the air conditioner and the honking of cars. When Kisaki first designed this room, he made sure that the walls were soundproof. And that whatever is shared behind those walls, stays inside. He did so partly to ensure the privacy of matters being shared amongst gang members, and to guarantee that no one outside would be able to hear what was going on.
There is a singular chair in the middle of the room. It stands out in an unsettling, uneasy manner. Perhaps because of its awkward placement, facing away from the table and more towards the door. Or maybe because Hanma appears cartoonish as he sits on the chair, long limbs and a bloodied face. Messy clothes that look like they had been almost forced off of his skin.
Another harsh punch lands on Hanma’s face, his head whips to the side as he feels the blood trickle down his nose and he turns to look at the man before him with intense, golden eyes. Kisaki’s jaw clenches along with his fist and he raises it in the air.
“You fuckin’ sick bastard.”
The crazed smile on Hanma’s face makes Kisaki pull away from the man who was untied, still armed and so relaxed despite being repeatedly assaulted by the much shorter, weaker man. It was deeply unsettling even to a man as disturbing as Kisaki.
“Nothin’ new to you.” Hanma’s tongue peeks out of his mouth to lick the blood trickling down his nose, the metallic taste feels euphoric against his taste buds and he bites his bottom lip. Harshly. Until it draws blood, and Kisaki’s chest is heaving, exhausted and filled with a fury that eggs on Hanma’s crazed state.
“I’m warnin’ ya,” the short man walks towards the other side of the room, grabbing a few napkins to wipe his hands. The back of his hand then pushes away his sweaty strands of hair that were sticking to his forehead, before grabbing a bottle of water. “Either you fix your fucking self, or I put a bullet through your head.”
When he hears no response, Kisaki turns around and realizes the grave mistake he made of lowering his guard in the presence of a man as unpredictable as Hanma. The cold barrel of the gun kisses his forehead, and his own icy blue eyes meet the tall man’s golden ones.
“Put a bullet through my head, huh?” Sarcasm seeps into Hanma’s cold tone, and a scoff escapes his dry lips as he presses the gun harder against his leader’s forehead. “Gettin’ tired of me?”
“Of your sick fucking games, yeah.”
“So what if I killed a guy? That’s never been a problem to ya.”
“You killed one of the men under Bonten you piece of shit–!” Kisaki groans when he feels the back of the gun make harsh contact with his jaw, then Hanma’s fingers are pulling on his hair. His roots burn, and the angle at which Hanma’s making him stare at him makes his neck ache.
“Watch your fucking tone with me,” Hanma sneers, nose scrunched up. This was the most emotion the man has shown since the start of the long, strenuous meeting. “You think I respect you?” a manic laugh escapes his lips. “I never did. I stayed ‘cause I thought you,” and he pulls at the shorter man’s hair again. “could keep me entertained.”
“It must’ve worked if you stayed this long.”
When neither Hanma nor Kisaki make an attempt to speak, nor move–Hanma’s hand slowly but carefully lets go of the shorter man’s hair. Followed by the gun retreating back to the holster that’s strapped to his pants’ belt. The room suddenly feels colder than usual, the sudden drop of adrenaline sends shivers down Hanma’s spine and the heat that was coursing through his body evaporates the moment he steps away from Kisaki to stare at his reflection in the tall windows.
Shit, he looked rough. There was caked up blood in his hair, on his clothes. The buttons on his blouse were gone and his tie was messily undone. He is surprised he doesn’t have a black eye. Kisaki doesn’t aim that high, he thinks. But he still looks like he got beaten up. It doesn’t necessarily hurt, but it stings when he licks his lips.
“You made a mess.” Kisaki announces as he walks towards the mini fridge situated in the deep corner of the conference room. “With Bonten. You made a huge fucking mistake.”
“I’ll take care of it–”
“Nah, that’s not the problem here–” the door to the fridge slams loudly and Kisaki crosses the room in a few, long strides. It’s impressive given his short stature. “You’ve been acting like a dick since the night you said you’re visiting her.” He stops in front of him and raises an eyebrow, eyes glaring daggers at Hanma’s now bare but bruised fingers.
The leader still shoves a beer in Hanma’s hand who stands there, dumbfounded. Obviously, a man as smart and as calculating as Kisaki would be able to read through his bullshit. However, Hanma didn’t know how to approach the situation, nor did he know if he would be able to say it how it is. He didn’t have that kind of relationship with Kisaki, and he wasn’t going to spill his worries to the same man whom he pointed a gun at only a few moments prior.
Silence drapes over the two like a dense fog. It fills the room, suffocates it while obscuring the path of conversation and leaving the two men uncertain of what to do or say next.
“I have to go.”
“I know.”
No questions asked, Kisaki allows his right hand to grab his belongings and rush out of the office, creating loud footsteps in his wake. Hanma’s big already big stature makes him look even more terrifying when he uses his physical prowess for his own benefit. He sloppily presses a button in the elevator and waits. Impatiently, the sound of his foot tapping against the sleek, reflective surface of dark granite, reaches his ears. He grows even more restless. The expensive watch strapped to his wrist seems to be mocking him, it refuses to go past 10:34PM and he wants to smack it against the walls.
Soon enough, he hears the loud chime of the elevator blaring through the speakers installed inside. Stepping out of the moving platform, he is greeted by the dimly lit, expansive space that exudes an air of both luxury and danger. The floor is polished black marble, reflecting the faint lighting that runs along the edges of the ceiling. The lights cast eerie shadows on the floor, creating a sense of unease as if the space itself is alive.
Hanma doesn’t come here often anyway, and he is only here so that he could grab one of his cars. He isn’t sure if the one he drove to get here is still outside or if Kisaki got rid of it–he can’t risk wasting precious time.
—
It’s cold outside.
There was something indescribable about staying inside your dimly lit apartment on a rainy night. The soft, rhythmic pitter-patter of rain taps against your windows, it soothes your nerves. You can barely hear the world outside, but in the background, a podcast plays softly—one of your favorites to wind down after a long day.
You catch snippets of phrases: “... and that’s when they discovered...” and “...the investigators came across...” The sound of the host’s voice is soothing despite the contents of the episode, like a soft caress, barely registering in your full attention.
Sitting on the carpet near your couch, you’re half-distracted. Having already tidied up the kitchen counter, you were now folding a blanket on the couch. Your movements are slow, almost methodical, you make note of not waking up your sleeping cat. It’s been a rough past two weeks. Being able to pick yourself up after going through something as challenging as that night was a miracle.
However, you weren’t one to back down or let something consume you. You couldn’t deny that your chest burned still, that the tears would coat your lash line every now then, as you tried to go on about your day. Whilst filling out paperworks, making dinner, feeding your cat–when you went to bed.
You stare at the pile of laundry sitting next to the couch, thrown carelessly and half-forgotten as you busied yourself in the kitchen a few hours prior. Your eyes catch a glimpse of the familiar fabric of your nightgown. Uneasy, you avert your gaze.
The rain continues its gentle tapping rhythm, mingling with the murmur of the podcast. You glance towards the windows, and reluctantly stand up to close the curtains. It was a bit past your bedtime, and waking up in the morning is going to be difficult given the relaxing setting that the rain was creating.
The tapping gets a bit louder, and you pause your movements to look outside. It doesn’t look like sleet, or maybe your vision was worsening?
You flinch when the tapping turns into full blown knocking. It certainly wasn’t coming from the living room where you were.
“What the fuck,” you whisper shakily, a hand flying to your chest as you feel your heart squeeze in anxiety. This has never happened to you before.
Warily, you reach for your phone and the knife you washed only moments prior–you turn to the hallway, and the knocking gets louder.
“Who’s there?” you yell out. You don’t sound confident.
The wooden floor beneath your feet creaks as you approach your room. You always keep the door open, but the window isn’t visible from where you were standing. You can barely hear the podcast anymore, your ears are ringing and the only thing you were aware of was how tight your chest felt. The burn in your stomach comes back as you push the door open.
“I said who’s–”
Your words are cut short when you spot the same black suit. But the one thing that makes you hold your breath is its disheveled and bloody appearance, as well as the way he was leaning against the fire escape.
Drenched from the downpour, Hanma seems to have given up on covering himself and lets it soak his clothes further. His elbow rests on the metal railing, the cigarette between his pointer and middle finger long extinguished from the rain. You don’t realize how long you stood there, frozen and unresponsive–until Hanma tries again.
“Open the window.”
You snap out of your thoughts, hand clenching the knife’s handle as your face turns sour.
“Leave.”
You’re not sure if he can ever hear you from outside. He leans into the window, pressing his ear against the glass when he sees your lips moving then shakes his head.
“Can’t hear you, doll–”
“Don’t call me that. Leave.”
Despite his worrying appearance, the cuts and bruises on his pretty face and the way the rain was making his clothes stick to his body, you don’t want him to win. The ongoing war inside your head, one that he had created and ran away from like the coward that he was–you can’t just forget that.
“We have to talk.”
“There is nothing to talk about. Goodnight.” You pretend to leave the room. You were ready to sacrifice sleeping on your comfortable, warm bed tonight if it meant getting him to leave. But alas, Hanma was a stubborn man.
The loud knocking starts again, and you angrily stomp back inside your room.
“Stop that! I have neighbors and you’re causing a scene!”
“Then open the window, doll.”
“I will call the police.” You show him your phone, hand visibly shaking from your heightened emotions. Everything was happening so fast. So unexpectedly. You were growing weary of the tall man appearing just when you were beginning to come to terms with his hurtful actions.
“The police, huh?” You see him wipe his face, but it’s useless given how strong the rain was. “Didn’t take you for such a scaredy cat.”
“I’m not scared,” your high pitched voice would say otherwise. “You’re disturbing my night. I don’t want you here.”
Neither of you say a word after. The rain seems to slow down and the harsh sound of droplets tapping against your window is replaced with a soft pitter patter. Your breathing slows down, but the burn in your stomach is still there. The longer you stare into his golden eyes, the harder it gets to approach that damn window and let him inside.
I can’t forgive you. You hurt me.
You avert your gaze, afraid that your face will give away the hurt that was eating you up from the inside.
“I freaked out.” Now that the downpour has subsided, Hanma’s deep voice was loud and clear. You look up, he was no longer leaning against the railing, bracing himself on the brick walls and leaning into the window. “It was too much.”
“Us having sex was… too much?” You make no attempt to read between the lines. You don’t think he deserves the benefit of the doubt, not after the stunt he pulled.
“..Yeah.”
“Oh fuck you.” Hanma watches as you angrily stomp towards the window to pull the curtains.
“Wait wait–!”
“I waited long enough. For two weeks, I waited for you to send a text message–give me a call–nothing!” Heat rises to your cheeks and Hanma sees that your eyes are now glossed over. “You used me.”
“So did you–”
“You fucking left me without bothering to clean me up!” The hurt in your tone makes him flinch. He squeezes his eyes shut, furrowing his eyebrows.
He can feel a headache coming in.
“Do you always expect boyfriend treatment from your one night stands?” This man knew how to make your blood boil.
“Boyfriend treatment? I feel bad for the women you’ve slept with.” You scoff.
“This is why I fucking freaked out.” He was loud but you didn’t care about disturbing the neighbors anymore. “You’re taking is so fucking seriously like we’re dating or some shit.”
“I wasn’t waiting for you to act like a boyfriend. You’re a coward when it comes to love,” your words drip like venom. “I just thought that as my friend, you’d be decent enough and clean me up.”
It’s never been this bad with you. Hanma can’t recall the last time your words sounded as spiteful and bitter as they do now. A side of you he never thought he would see after losing you for a decade—but it can’t be helped when he’s adding fuel to the fire.
Clearly, neither of you is ready to back down from the argument and Hanma was starting to shiver from the cold. He can’t even light a cigarette. He punches the wall lightly before straightening his back, staring to the side.
Hanma came here to talk about what happened— He already knew you would be disappointed, slightly hurt–(ended up being more than slightly)--but he thought it would be over soon. That you’d listen.
“I want–” Just as your jaw was starting to relax, Hanma breaks the silence. “I’m good at striking deals.”
“Huh?”
“Did you like it?” you feel heat rush to your face and you’re staring at him dumbfounded.
“What?!”
“That night. Lack of aftercare aside, was I good?” Hanma knows the answer and you were aware of that. You didn’t want to stroke his ego, let him know that it was the best sex you had in a while. It would overshadow the hurt you were feeling, and you didn’t want to give him the impression that he was free to walk all over you.
“I felt good.”
“So did I.”
The rain had stopped. The man’s voice was loud and clear as he confessed to you that having sex with you felt good.
(That you made him feel good).
“I’m a busy man. I can’t be around all the time,” a tattooed hand wipes his face before staring at you. “But if either of us is feeling horny–”
“For fuck’s sake–” you are flustered as you scramble to unlock the window. Pushing it open, you refuse to meet his gaze as you step to the side. “Come inside.”
Chuckling to himself, a lazy grin adorns his lips as he steps inside your room. The set up is familiar to him, but he still can’t help but stare at your bed. Your mattress and pillows.
He is reminded that the comfort he felt in your space is only temporary, golden eyes glancing towards your arms crossed over your chest. The gesture brings attention the necklace adorning your chest, your fingers holding onto the pendent tightly.
Huh?
The tall man brushes off the foreign feeling in his stomach, focusing on the way you seem to be wary of him even whilst letting him in your bedroom.
"You're a busy man, but can become available for sex?"
"I am not always free"
"Right."
"Just every now and then."
"Sure."
"When it's really necessary"
"Mhm,"
The dynamic is entirely different compared to last time, and Hanma only has himself to blame. He watches as you silently retreat from your bedroom, disappearing into the hallway. You don't bother to check on him. There was no need to act like your apartment was a foreign territory to the tall man.
Stepping into the hallway, a loud "oof" bounces against the walls as a towel lands on his face. Removing it from his head, sun gilded eyes follow your figure as you sit on the couch, busying yourself with the remote control.
(He doesn't remember you ever liking TV).
"You'll catch a cold," you say in between skimming through channels, aimlessly.
The soft fabric ruffles his hair, but it's futile given how soaked he was. Hanma doesn't say a word. He places the towel on the kitchen counter, brown leathed shoes carrying him across the wooden floor towards the entrance.
Grabbing the door knob, the tall man speaks up.
"I'm...I have to go."
Golden eyes bore into your side, burning shapes and promises into your soul so intensely that you are forced to pull your eyes away from your big screen and towards the same disheveled man. Soaked and bloodied, you pull your eyes away.
"I know."

Robin was asleep against Steve’s shoulder. He was sure she was drooling and she’d stolen all of the blanket they’d been sharing but Steve didn’t mind. He never did. On the other side, Eddie laid in a ball like a cat and pressed as much against Steve as he could. The guy had never once known the definition of personal space. Again, Steve didn’t mind.
Spread out on the floor were Jeff, Gareth, and Max. The guy they called The Freak was asleep in the recliner and Chrissy had gone off to Robin’s bed two movies ago. Steve was sure Robin was supposed to have joined her.
Nancy left halfway through the first movie. She didn’t enjoy mocking all these horrible movies so once she had her fill of being around others, she left. It wasn’t until the room was completely asleep that Steve wished she was still there. In part because he knew she’d still be awake and could keep him company but another part of him wanted her to find the same bit of rest.
Though Nancy missed their award-winning commentary on Sleepaway Camp, everyone else missed the wildly hilarious Slumber Party Massacre except Gareth and Jeff.
As the movie played Steve had been dragging his fingertips over Eddie’s back, watching the path they took rather than the screen. It was as selfish as it was helpful.
Of course, Steve wanted Eddie to get some sleep but there was something about the wee hours of the morning where common sense was fleeting and the crush was a little too hard to ignore. Steve knew better, it would never happen, and if Nancy and Jonathan were anything to go on, they shouldn’t date within their friend group. But logic didn’t make the feelings go away.
In fact, that’s what made it a crush. Common sense wasn’t invited and it couldn’t be chased away with a million reasons why it wouldn’t work. Instead, Steve did his best to act like a normal guy. One who rubbed his friend's backs until they fell asleep.
Jeff stood up midway through the movie but didn’t say anything other than to ask where the bathroom was. Which felt strange. Steve half-expected Robin to wake up just to mock him, to sense there was something going on that she needed to make fun of but Jeff took it like business as usual.
Now that everyone was asleep, though, Steve didn’t have anything to worry about. He also didn’t have anything else to pay attention to. The remote was nowhere in sight and Steve had no interest in finding it.
Instead, he watched Eddie sleep as his best friend muttered sounds in her sleep. Steve found it easy to ignore that anyone else was in the room and daydream about doing this forever. That there was some other version of things where this apartment was one he had with Eddie and they invited Robin over for dinner and movies.
Interrupting the daydream, Eddie started to stir and shift. Still asleep, Eddie rolled to the other side and Seve cringed so hard he checked to make sure it hadn’t disturbed Robin. No way he should have thought that was cute. Steve was extra grateful everyone was asleep after that unnecessary moment of weakness because he’d have stood up and mocked himself had there been witnesses.
Eddie wasn’t done though and he shifted up Steve’s leg until his head was resting in Steve’s lap. His knees pulled up even closer to his chest in a way that had Steve worrying a little. Maybe this wasn’t peaceful sleep.
So Steve did what he could to try and comfort Eddie. Aside from a comforting hand, the only move Steve had was stealing the blanket from Robin and some crimes didn’t need committing.
After a minute or two, Eddie seemed to calm down and left Steve to his domestic fantasies and wondering if it might be worth it to fuck up this friendship.
Not that she was the authority but she was the other half of his brain and Robin said it wasn’t worth it. The friendship was solid and something Steve didn’t want to lose. With a risk that high, they both thought it was better if things stayed as just friends. Even if Steve had imagined their wedding more than once.
He’d made great progress in moving on but the universe fought dirty sometimes and Steve was only human. Romanticizing things was what three am was for and who was Steve to not give in and think about all the ways it would go well for once?
Steve was pulled from his thoughts by the sound of someone saying “What happened to the movie, man?”
He looked around and found Gareth sitting up, rubbing his eyes.
“It ended. Like, an hour ago,” Steve said back.
“Ugh, why didn’t you put anything else on?
Steve just scoffed. They weren’t close enough for witty comebacks.
Gareth moved on quickly. “Where are the blankets?”
“Hall closet. Second door on the right.”
Instead of getting up, Gareth laid down. He stretched and made peace with having to get up, something Steve found annoying but understood.
When he finally did get up, Gareth stopped at the edge of the couch and looked from Eddie to Steve. “You know he’s crazy about you, right?”
Steve scoffed, the sneer a defense mechanism that he couldn’t cling to through that glimmer of hope Gareth had just tossed his way.
“Yeah, man. Like, obsessed and shit. We actually hate it but, ya know, we love him so…”
All Steve could do was nod.
“He doesn’t want fuck up your friendship so, I dunno. Do something about it for all of us. Please.” and with that, Gareth disappeared down the hall.
The sound of opening doors and Steve’s brain working overtime filled the house. Gareth shuffled back with a blanket and found his spot on the floor like nothing had happened.
Twenty minutes later, Robin said, “Told you so.”

Heartbreaker (Eddie Does Drag for Charity)
@corrodedcoffinfest Day 10: Pride
Tags: supportive band mates, gay Jeff, drag queen Eddie Munson, brief Rockie reference
WC: 994
Divider was created by @strangergraphics
“When does he go on?” Grant asked Gareth, leaning over Jeff from where they stood around a table in the crowded club. The music was loud enough that Grant had to practically yell for Gareth to hear him.
“He told me he’d be going third!” Gareth yelled back to him, eyes alight with anticipation. Admittedly, Gareth had never in his life thought he’d ever be excited to be in a gay bar, but stranger things had certainly happened.
Weirdly enough, Jeff seemed to be the least comfortable one at the table. His smile seemed a bit more forced than usual as his eyes darted around the room.
“Jeff, you good buddy?” Gareth asked, “I would’ve thought you’d feel right at home here.”
“Being gay doesn’t mean I suddenly want to hang out at dance clubs, you know.” A cringe took up residence on Jeff’s face as he took note of a nearly naked man in shiny boyshorts swiveling his hips to some upbeat song that played through the speakers. “No judgment to the people who enjoy this stuff, but it’s just not my scene.” Pink and purple spotlights illuminated the stage then, signaling that the show was about to begin.
“God, it was nuts back there. Pun intended.” Robin sighed when she joined the boys at their table. “Do you guys know what tucking is? I didn’t. I do now. Could have gone my whole life without that mental image but now it’s burned into my brain.”
Grant’s confusion was evident on his face, to which Gareth subtly shook his head in a silent Later, buddy. Don’t get her started.
“Any issues though?” Gareth asked, “ With Eddie, I mean.” Robin was about to answer before a tall, beautiful drag queen took the stage and introduced themself as the host for tonight’s charity drag show.
Robin waited about twenty seconds into the host’s introduction before discreetly whispering her answer to Gareth. “Vickie said Eddie’s look is some of her best work, if that answers your question. She’s been working with Eddie every day for at least a week; apparently he’s taking this really seriously!”
“On behalf of the Indy Pride committee, I want to sincerely thank all of you for coming out tonight!” The host continued, “100% of tips collected tonight will be donated to local charities benefitting LGBTQ+ youth, so let’s give all our performers a round of applause!”
Grant, Gareth and Jeff may all have originally shown up tonight to bear witness to what may very well be their frontman’s most blackmailable performance to date, but at this moment they couldn’t help but feel a swell of pride for Eddie as they cheered. He took his preparations for tonight seriously because he believed in why he was doing it. He had built his friends a refuge from those that judged them, bullied them, called them freaks- Eddie Munson had always been in the business of giving outsiders a place to call their own; same show, different stage.
The host went on to introduce the first queen- a dentist who, for tonight only, had dubbed himself ‘Ruta Canal’. After the dentist was a high school theater teacher whom the host introduced as ‘Apple Bottoms’. Judging by the sheer amount of ear-splitting screams, it was safe to assume that a large group of his students had shown in support of their teacher.
“Now folks,” the host began, “Our next queen is no stranger to the stage. For tonight only, the leading man of local metal band Corroded Coffin is… M&M!”
Gareth tilted his head toward Robin as he applauded. “Why M&M?”
Robin gave him a withering smile. “He said it stood for Munson Magic.” Gareth replied with a snort as the applause faded away to reveal a familiar progression of drums and guitar. When Eddie emerged, the boys could hardly believe their eyes.
In his unflinching commitment to the song he’d chosen to lip sync to (it hadn’t taken long for the boys to recognize it as Heartbreaker by Pat Benatar), Eddie had donned a skin-tight unitard that practically painted his every curve with purple zebra print, bright red heels and a red belt to match. He hadn’t needed a wig, since his hair was already long and luscious enough to be the envy of any popstar. Now that his locks framed a face painted with lipstick, eyeshadow, and penciled thin eyebrows that had been drawn atop his glued-down natural brows, Eddie’s haircut suddenly looked more feminine than it usually did.
Eddie, ever the showman, left everything on the stage from beginning to end for the entire performance. His facial expressions were larger than life, bringing his infectious energy into every word Pat sang through the speakers. The audience ate up every second of it, tossing bill after bill onto the stage for Eddie to collect- each one was teasingly stashed into the fake breasts he wore under his unitard. By the time he was only halfway through his performance, his entire neckline was fringed in green.
He was only onstage for the beginning and the end of the song, spending the rest of the performance strutting amidst tables where patrons stood. Eddie saved his bandmates’ table for last, making sure to embarrass them the most- grinding up on Gareth one second and hiking a leg up on Grant the next. He didn’t subject poor Jeff to the same treatment, but he certainly couldn’t help himself from blowing him a kiss before returning to the stage just in time for Vickie to emerge from backstage with- to everyone’s surprise- his electric guitar. Eddie finished the final few bars of the song on his warlock, shredding through the notes live as the entire bar went absolutely wild. As the song drew to a close, he slid to his knees at the front and center of the stage, face contorted with focus and exhilaration until the final note rang out into the crowd’s thunderous applause.

Beach House (Part Two)
Pairing: Johnny MacTavish x original female character (Fiona)
CW: angst; Johnny sobs cries; Guy Talk; Simon Riley is bad at feelings - but he tries... for Johnny; talk of fuck boy behavior
Author's Note: This part was very difficult for me to write, I won't lie to you. But it was important so I got it out. I apologize for it feeling forced - if it does. I promise I tried lol
Inspo | Part One
"Johnny."
The man in question sniffles and looks to the voice but doesn't respond.
"Are you... alright?" Simon inquires a bit hesitantly. The man's not good at feelings. Empathy and sympathy are difficult for him. So seeing his best friend and roommate crying on the couch (the reason he's even awake right now) is a bit uncomfortable for him.
But he'll try - for Johnny. Johnny shakes his head and lowers his eyes to the coffee table in front of him as tears fall faster down his face.
"I told her I love her, Si. And she told me to prove it." The Scotsman's face contorts. "How could she think I'd lie to her about somethin' like this?!"
Simon cringes internally at the question and, well, the entire situation. He doesn't even have to ask who "she" is. Simon's known Johnny's been head over heels for Fiona for about a year now. Yet, Johnny continued to keep his mouth shut about it.
"I can't say I'm surprised," Simon admits. "You've gotta keep in mind that she's not had the best dating history, though short, since she moved here- how long has it been? Seven years?"
Johnny sniffles and nods.
"Seven years, aye."
"And in those seven years, she's witnessed you in one committed relationship. That was the year after she moved here and you two got close. After that? You became what she likes to call a 'fuck boy'. You didn't really set yourself up for anything but rejection."
Simon's not... inncorect. He could have, maybe, been more gentle about his delivery. But Simon doesn't really do "gentle" very often, and especially not so suddenly.
"So what do I do? I tried to kiss her-"
"You what?! Hold on. Back up and tell me what happened," Simon says with a sigh and sits next to Johnny on the couch with a mug of tea in his hands.
However, Johnny explains - with minimal side stories - exactly what happened on the beach less than an hour ago.
"You absolute knobhead," Simon sighs again when Johnny finishes explaining. "No wonder she got so pissed. She didn't know you even had feelings for her, Johnny. What did you expect? Put yourself in her position."
So Johnny does. He considers things from her point of view, quietly. After a couple minutes, his eyes widen and he looks terribly guilty.
"I messed up," he whispers.
Simon nods.
"Don't go to the beach party tonight-"
"But I told her I'd be there! The last thing I should do is not go after what I pulled," Johnny pouts.
"If you'd shut up and let me finish talking," Simon shoots him a half-hearted glare, "you'd know what I meant. Go to the beach, but don't go to the party. Go to that old lifeguard tower that you two always sneak off to when she gets bored and just wants your company. If she is ready to talk, she'll look for you there."
Simon swears, if it were possible, he would see a light bulb light up over Johnny's head as soon as he caught on.
"Oh, I get you now," the Scotsman nods.
Then, as if he hadn't been crying at all, Johnny is suddenly moving. He buzzes around their beach house preparing for the beach party that he is, decidely, not attending.

Driving Under the Infl-Yuu-Ence (Jade Leech and Yuu)
Warnings: N/A.
@lottieinlimbo Request: hi Devin!! Hope you’re having a good day today!! For request, I’m thinkin prompt 72 from the list “Make me believe it” with Jade Leech, maybe somethin platonic? Lookin forward to what you cook up, I know it’ll be amazing!! :D
.
.
.
It's not often that Jade finds himself surprised, much less taken aback and rendered speechless. For a moment, he has to take a step back (not literally, even though instincts demand that he create distance between himself and a somewhat dangerous situation) and reassess. It's another few seconds of contemplation before he curls his fingers underneath his chin before regarding Yuu with a curious, but wary gaze.
"Pardon me, Yuu, I don't believe that I heard you correctly. You wanted to... What exactly?" While eloquence was often the weapon that his dear business associate Azul would use, Jade is just as skilled. However, in this situation that made the phantom limbs of his tails and fins quiver in apprehension, he faltered in his manner of speech.
Although his face remained impassive, he cringed inwardly. To speak so carelessly! And what's worse, with vulnerability!
Thank goodness neither his brother nor his business associate were here to witness such... a weak performance from him. Blackmail was worth its weight in madol and blackmail concerning Jade nearly tripled that.
Yuu, to their credit, didn't seem to notice. If they did, they wisely chose not to comment. Instead, they nodded in the direction of their car, an older model that ran on a mixture of electricity and magic. While Yuu had no magic of their own, they were roommates with a few mages who were more than eager to power up the vehicle with their reserves so long as they could use the car from time to time.
It had been years since Jade and Yuu had graduated from Night Raven College, but it seemed that the acquaintanceship that had blossomed during their time in the institution had gradually blossomed into a tentative friendship. This relationship, however, while in full bloom, did not last long once he had graduated. The rift was not because of ill will or malcontent, but rather, it was because it was life getting in the way of connection. While Yuu was busy with their internship, Jade returned to the sea. Over the course of a couple months, the both of them barely spoke to each other, if at all.
Upon his return to his birthplace, Jade had taken over his father’s business alongside his brother. Although he had long since resigned himself to committing to his family's operations under the sea while his brother expanded on land, he still visited the surface from time to time. It was rare, but each time he breached the surface, it always felt like an occasion worth celebrating.
So, with Jade walking upon land very rarely, it was quite a shock to his heart to find Yuu once again.
Was it a stroke of luck?
Destiny?
Azul would have laughed at that notion, but Jade was a bit more easy to sway.
What else could it have been other than some otherworldly force? Unless it was a coincidence: the universe’s attempt at a joke. Whatever the case, Jade stopped in his tracks when he saw the former Ramshackle Prefect again after he had left Floyd behind at a club, the sounds of synth beats and drunken laughter reverberating in the air.
As always, they were small and slight—but Jade supposed that anyone would have looked small and slight compared to him. What he found most shocking however, was that they looked rather well. Back in Night Raven College, it was no surprise due to their background that they were always wearing clothing that was ill fitting and were usually stressed with heavy bags under their eyes. They also seemed to move as if their mind was miles away… What was that phrase again? Head in the clouds? Daydreaming, some would say. Homesick, maybe.
Tonight, however, they were dressed in casual clothing. While not designer, they were not ragged or threadbare. They were also bereft of the logo for NRC. In fact, Jade didn't have to wonder if Yuu had bought the garments themself. The clothing suited them well and made them shine despite the darkness of night.
Normally, Jade would have left them to their own devices. After all, it had been almost... He wanted to say five years since they last spoke but it may have been longer considering that they were never too close in the first place. Really, the Ramshackle Prefect spoke more with Floyd and Azul and that was usually because of the former’s propensity for seeking out entertainment and the latter’s attempts to get Mostro Lounge full staffed.
It would have been easy to just leave. Walk away.
However, while not as big a partier as Floyd, Jade had a few drinks in his system and was feeling the effects of hastily prepared liquor still warming his system.
Land dwellers were so interesting, if a bit masochistic at times.
Jade had to take transformation potions just so that he could properly blend in with the rest of the surface population. Land dwellers intentionally poisoned their bodies with drinks that were more fire than liquid. At least when merfolk decided to poison themselves, they didn’t try to disguise it with ornate glasses and delicate garnishes.
So, with steps that were reminiscent of his gait during his first few months in Night Raven College, Jade ambled towards the former Ramshackle Prefect to… Well, he wasn’t sure what he was going to do, only that he knew that where the Prefect went, entertainment was sure to follow. Years may have passed, but he had a feeling that even if they were to never see each other again come morning, he would still have a fun night at the very least.
And so, Jade walked up to them as they leaned against the side of their car, their phone in hand and a questioning look in their eyes. His eyes weren’t as keen as most land dwellers, but he could practically taste the apprehension in the air, of the fear that he often associated with those who couldn’t pay back his family’s benevolence. However, the scent of fear was dialed back significantly, when he was close enough to see the whites of the former Prefect’s eyes. Alongside recognition, there was confusion, but also a hint of relief.
Imagine that, he couldn’t help but chuckle softly to himself. It wasn’t often that others would regard him with relief upon recognizing him, but the Prefect had always been a curious oddity.
“Good evening, Prefect,” he greeted cordially. To his utter delight, he realized that while he may not be as mindful of his physical capabilities, his speech was still fluent and coherent. As long as he remained standing and didn’t act out of the ordinary, his companion would be none the wiser. “It’s been… How long? Five years?”
The small human looked up at him with a slight smile on their face. “Just Yuu,” they reminded him. “It’s been years since I graduated and it’s not like I need reminders of that place.”
Odd, was that bitterness? How fascinating. While most would agree that their experiences at their alma maters may not lead to a positive remembrance, Jade thought they would have been more fond of the institution. Yes, there were Overblots, but they were rather comfortable with making friends from all the dorms with special mention to Heartslabyul. Had Jade misjudged? Or had the years finally made the Pref—apologies, Yuu—cynical?
Or, more appropriately, jaded?
“Something funny, Jade?”
Oh my, how inconsiderate of him. He must have drank a milliliter too much if he was already making mistakes this early in the conversation.
As if taken back to his years at Night Raven College, Jade bent slightly at the waist, the angle just a bit more pronounced. Throughout his bow, he watched as Yuu regarded him with amusement.
It had been years, but it was somewhat surreal to see Yuu appear so confident and self-assured. No longer were they the sort of person who kowtowed to those stronger than them and appeared too tired to question the whims of others. Even now, Jade was somewhat surprised that they still chose to help their fellow first year friends get rid of the anemones even though they would benefit very little from the negotiation while also risking losing their housing.
Had Yuu learned from this experience?
Or was it from the combination of harrowing experiences that Night Raven College had seen fit to throw at them despite their having no magic?
It made Jade want to explore further. To push them to know who they really were underneath their newly bought clothes and fresh skin.
But that would be an adventure for tomorrow’s Jade should he still harbor the same curiosity that consumed tonight’s Jade entire being.
Tonight, this Jade merely wanted to pass the time.
“Apologies, tonight has been… an experience that I have not had the opportunity to pursue too often under the sea.” He smiled, his mouth gaping just a hair bigger than he normally afforded to acquaintances. Pride filled him when he saw that the former Prefect neither shied away or stared at him in disgust. Really, he must be losing his touch or perhaps Yuu was too adjusted to be scared of him anymore.
Should he change that?
Yuu canted their head to their right, their brows furrowing in concern and nose scrunching a little before they gasped in shock—or was it delight?—and regarded him with a new light.
“Are you drunk?”
Without missing a beat, Jade answered, “Are you suggesting that I cannot laugh at an inside joke without being accused of being intoxicated?”
He pressed a hand over his heart and inclined his head in mock melancholy. To add a dash of drama, he sniffed faintly and looked askance as if he could not bear to look his companion in the eye. This sort of performance would have rewarded him with a punch to the shoulder if it were Floyd or an annoyed scoff from Azul. From Yuu, he merely saw them look at him with an expression so deadpan, he feared that their face would freeze that way.
“Truly, we reunite after years of separation and that’s how you treat me? Never before have I felt so wounded!”
He sniffled and mimed wiping away an artful trail of tears down his cheek.
Was it a performance that would have awarded him the same laud as one VIl Schoenheit? Obviously not, but he would like to think that he was a good contender for a starring role in community theatre.
Yuu rolled their eyes, but laughed all the same.
As if on cue, Jade relaxed from his stance, his shoulders no longer as straight or rigid as he normally would have made them on land. In water, he was free to lounge and allow his body to twist and writhe whatever way he wanted to. Most merfolk were lax when it came to posturing and stances; deference was either owed to royalty or to the biological, inherent pecking order that everyone, prey and predator included, knew. On land, though, Jade had been taught that appearances were everything. Floyd had discarded that notion (unless clothing and accessories were involved), often playing up his more extraverted mannerisms to achieve the same effect as Jade, but Jade had decided to play along with land dweller customs.
It was tiresome, but it gave him something to do.
After all, if one were to be used to routine, it became all the more entertaining when Jade decided to switch it up.
He was slouching now—was it due to the alcohol? he would have to do some more research on the matter later—but he was careful not to appear too out of character. It would be funny to see Yuu second guess themself and question if the eel mer they were talking to was actually Floyd, but Jade wasn’t interested in that.
Yet.
He could play that card later if he got bored.
“Geeze,” Yuu breathed out as they leaned against their car door. “You never change, do you? Last I heard, you were building up your family’s business, right?”
Jade grinned. Wider now. Perhaps more ominous underneath the low lighting. “Correct. My father left my brother and I equal shares, but the both of us can be greedy so we decided to expand.”
“That’s great to hear! I’m still in school at the moment.”
“Oh?”
“Yeah, I’m not good at much, but apparently Beast Taming is sort of my calling?” They shrugged as if the utter idea was still ludicrous after years of tending to their overly ambitious cat beast. “Grim’s not here, but he and I are partners and are planning on hosting classes at some of the lower level magical colleges in Pyroxene. It’s not a popular subject considering that most mages don’t have familiars anymore, but we’re hoping to revive the art.”
“So you’re planning on becoming a professor then?”
Their responding smile was shy, but there was a hint of pride there. Maybe even a little bit of embarrassment for confessing something so vulnerable in their mannerisms. “Hahaha, yeah. It’s a good thing Ace and Deuce aren’t here. They’d probably give me flack for personally shoving a stick up my ass.”
Jade chuckled despite himself. “Come now, most of our professors weren’t that bad.”
“Oh, really?” They raised an eyebrow as if in challenge. “Remember that time Crewel made his entire batch of third years scrub out the cauldrons because someone contaminated the supply of beetroot with their personal experiments?”
Ah! Jade had pleasantly vague memories of that debacle… “I shudder to think of the day I would ever forget that incident.” A dramatic pause. “It was actually my potionology project for my thesis that contaminated the rest of those semester’s assignments.”
Yuu’s eyes widened. “Holy shit. How are you still alive?”
Jade shrugged before placing a finger against his lips. “Unlike some of our much rowdier contemporaries, I never got caught. It was an unfortunate event that everyone was punished, but… Collateral damage is something that I’ve come to expect, especially in my line of work.”
He may not have been watching Yuu directly when he murmured that last part, but he knew that their wide eyes were filled with apprehension at what he implied. How entrancing. How much did they know about his family’s business? And how much would they be willing to find out?
And then—
Laughter. Pure, childlike, unadulterated laughter.
“Pffttt, hahahaha!” The small human was practically doubled over in laughter, their entire body leaning against the body of their car as if they would fall without its support. Knowing how fragile some humans were, Jade wasn’t too surprised at the sight. What caused him to do a double take was the teasing glint in their eyes and the utter joy that they regarded him with.
It wasn’t every day that someone would look up to him like that.
It was a pity that his mental faculties were compromised. He would have liked to remember this moment for some time. To dissect. Or to ponder whenever he would think about the intricacies and mysteries upon the surface.
“And may I ask what strikes you as funny?”
Yuu didn’t answer. Instead, they waved him off as they chuckled, but eventually straightened from their doubled over posture.
“I just… When I saw you skulking out of the shadows, I thought I was about to get jumped! And now? This?” They waved their hands about in an aimless, purpless direction. As if actions alone could properly convey their confusion at the situation. “Talk about tonal whiplash, Jade. You’re a horror movie waiting to happen, but instead, I get something straight out of a… out of a…” The former Prefect frowned to themself before adding in a hushed, but near mortified tone of voice, “Like a comedy? Maybe?”
Jade stifled a laugh, his posture rounding itself out as he tried to keep himself from bowling over in mirth. “I’ve never considered myself a stand up comic, but who knows? Maybe I might pursue that endeavor in the future if my current career path does not pan out.”
The both of them shared a laugh for a few more moments, but eventually, the Prefect straightened up from leaning against their car. A quick glance at their phone must have alerted them to something if their little gasp of shock was anything to go by.
Even though Jade was still smiling placidly, he couldn't help but feel his brows furrow in disappointment. He was slowly sobering and it seemed now that he was in better charge of his mental faculties, he was finally getting the entertainment he so desperately craved. Parties were fun and all—especially if all Jade had to do to get information was to smile prettily and say the right words—but they were tiring and the company usually devolved in likability as the night wore on.
"Leaving already?"
Yuu shrugged before sending him a considering glance. "How about you? Got somewhere you need to be?"
"Not necessarily, but I wouldn't mind heading back to my quarters sooner rather than later."
Jade laughed at Yuu’s confused look at his strange choice of words.
"My hotel room," he amended. "I don't have permanent residence on land so when I come up for business matters, I tend to stay in other establishments."
"Why not stay with Floyd?"
Jade hummed. "He can be territorial at times and I also have my own needs. Besides, money is no object for either of us."
Yuu scoffed at that admission, their eyes glancing at Jade's clothing. As always, well dressed even if it was for something that didn't require high end fashion. "You don't say."
"I don't. I simply wear what I'm worth."
Eventually, Jade gave Yuu the address to a hotel on the outskirts of the city. The hotel itself was actually high end and was considered more of a resort rather than a simple hotel. Located near the white sandy beaches upon which it was located, the guests would be able to enjoy the view of the seaside and the horizon meeting each other in a holy matrimony of beauty and natural phenomena.
Surprisingly, the recommendation came from Floyd, but Jade supposed that he shouldn't be too surprised. Despite Floyd's love of chaos, his tastes upon land bordered on extravagance.
The multitude of closets he had just for his accessories and shoes...
Yuu, to their credit, didn't bat an eye at Jade's address for the hotel. Instead, they nodded and loaded up the address onto their phone's GPS and began backing out of their parking space and out onto the main road.
As Yuu began a steady pace towards their destination, Jade fiddled with his seatbelt, feeling mildly restrained—almost as if he were suffocating. After all of these years, there were still many aspects of land dwelling culture that he had not become accustomed to yet. Clothing had been a challenge, especially in his first few months masquerading as a human, but transportation? Seatbelts were a nuisance—how did land dwellers deal with being smashed against the seats like this?
Furthermore, Jade didn't feel particularly safe; rather, it felt as if the surface liked to discover ways to give themselves a harder time to live their lives and/or seek death faster.
The enclosed space in the car was fine—Jade lived and grew up in enclosed spaces when learning how to ambush prey—but the windshield and the windows didn't provide the cover that he preferred. At the very least, the car that Yuu was driving had tinted windows, but instinct had Jade being hypervigilant, always expecting danger.
"Feel free to change the music station." Yuu offered as they used their turn signal, the sound of which provided a steady, mechanical drumbeat against the backdrop of a crooning voice. "I don't have a preference."
It took a second for Jade's eyes to adjust to the darkness in the car, but he eventually found the knob that would change stations. At this time of night and this far out of the main city, most stations were either late night talk shows with a few channels playing pop songs that Jade wasn't too fond of or the occasional radio silence. After going through a multitude of channels, Jade finally gave up and tuned into a station that played songs from decades past.
"Didn't take you for a disco kind of guy."
"I'm not." Jade returned to running his fingers up and down against the fabric of the seatbelt. For something that restrained him, the strange texture of it was oddly soothing against his finger pads. "It seems that my tastes will not be catered to tonight. A shame, but land dweller music has never ranked high on what I prefer to listen to."
Or maybe it was because Jade hadn't exposed himself to land dweller music all that often. Even when he had been a full time student at Night Raven College, he preferred to study or hike in silence as opposed to grabbing a pair of headphones and checking out the latest trends in pop or what have you. It was Floyd who loved the synthesized instruments in pop music, the erratic thrum of rock and metal, and how innovative the surface dwelling folk could be when cobbling together a passable tune.
That was part of the reason why Jade could not stand to stay at the club any longer than he had to. The alcohol eased his frustrations somewhat, but he could attest that for the majority of merfolk, their preferences and standards for what passed as music and musical was leagues above what the surface dwellers could ever hope to replicate.
"Hmm? What sort of music do you listen to then?"
Jade cast a glance at his companion, waited until they gave him a questioning glance, before answering with, "Whalesong."
It was a good thing that the road they were on was mostly bereft of other travelers because for a few crucial instants, Yuu nearly lost control of their driving. Their shock was gratifying and it soothed the primal instinct in Jade that wanted to rip himself out of his self-imposed bindings, but both their lives could be in danger had the road been bustling with traffic.
"W-whalesong!? Like whales go into recording studios and like? Make music?"
Jade didn't even try disguising his laugh this time.
Was this the same Prefect who went to Night Raven College around the same time as him? Yes, he remembered that there was a spark in them, a fire that Jade had yearned to see stamped out from time to time, but he never got around to committing to those thoughts, especially when the winter holidays had come immediately after the end of term exams. And then the Overblots. The arrival of summer. And so on and so on.
Had he known that they were this interesting...
Ah, he supposed that maybe he should convince Yuu to stay in touch with him. Perhaps he was still suffering the lingering effects of the alcohol and was thus was feeling more impulsive than usual, but this interaction was interesting.
Yuu's questions were interesting.
Yuu's reactions were interesting.
Yuu was interesting.
"Whalesong," Jade repeated again. He turned to face the road again, watching how the path began to grow slightly narrower to accommodate the forested landscape. "Did you know that sound travels faster and clearer in water? You would have to have the same skeletal structure of merfolk to fully appreciate their tunes, but it's like a lullaby that haunts the ocean for miles. It reverberates through your body, reminding you that no matter how large or dangerous you are, there will always be something above you in the theoretical food chain. You may not realize it, but whales can be quite dangerous."
He fell silent, eyes falling close.
There was no danger here—not unless Yuu lost control of their car.
"Not that I would know what it’s like to be put into my place on land, of course. Here, I rank quite high if I may say so."
"And humble too."
At that point, Yuu was turning into the hotel's private property. Up ahead, there was a guardhouse with one of its security personnel already waving them forward. At the security guard's insistence, Yuu surrendered their license with the guarantee that they would receive it once they left the premises. After confirming that Jade was a guest at the hotel, they were allowed to pass and go straight onto the grounds.
The hotel grounds were expansive, and again, Jade had to stifle a laugh when he heard Yuu mutter to themself about "rich people and their tastes". As Yuu drove through the veritable obstacle course that made up the grounds before the actual main building, Jade made idle commentary on the scenery they passed.
There were the tennis and basketball courts, a swimming pool for those who didn't want to brave the ocean (and for good reason, Jade was from there and the locals weren't always the nicest), and a few other facilities the rich and famous would like to make use of. Eventually, they made their way to the parking lot, which was insisted upon by Jade. Before going to his room, he would like to take a walk to further clear his head and maybe, if he was feeling particularly adventurous, he might venture into the frigid depths of the ocean before sleeping.
He said as much to Yuu who parked the car at the furthest point from the main hotel building.
"You mean you weren't already feeling adventurous? I thought that you were at some elite club or something. Most people would be too tired to even think about swimming at this hour."
Smiling toothily at his companion, Jade admitted, "It was a rather dull affair. For someone like me, I much prefer something more... challenging." The liquor helped and didn't help at the same time.
"Whatever you say, Jade."
As Yuu pressed a button on their side to unlock the doors, they paused for a moment, as if a thought had come to them. Observant as he was, Jade knew that something was on their mind and was patient to stay a moment longer, his long fingers resting on the car door handle.
"Hmm... but is walking or swimming alone at night considered challenging?" There was mischief in their tone, an inside joke that only they were privy to at the moment. It piqued Jade's curiosity, but only slightly. "Why not... push past your boundaries?"
"What an idea," Jade murmured. "What are you proposing?"
Yuu tapped their fingers upon the steering wheel. "You know, I've never seen you drive a car before."
And just like that, Jade wrenched the door wide open and leaped out of the car as if he had caught on fire. It was only because he had years of practice as a courteous land dweller that he managed to remember to bid the small human goodbye.
"Apologies, I do believe that my bed is calling me at this hour. Goodnight and farewell, dear Yuu. I'll take my lea—"
"Nuh-uh." Yuu may not have been as fast as Jade, but they could certainly manipulate their limbs quicker than what he remembered. It seems that being pushed to their limits under Coach Vargas' tutelage did them some good in the long run. "I brought you to this place out of the goodness of my heart, which merits a reward."
Ah. They certainly have changed over the years, haven't they?
"A good deed that must be repaid isn't done out of the goodness of one's heart, Yuu."
"That's rich coming from you. If I recall, wasn’t that your modus operandi during our years at Night Raven?"
Jade smiled a thin sort of smile.
Would he be able to stomach running away from a human as small as Yuu? Or shall he suffer this farce for much longer?
"Perhaps."
"Hmmm.... So maybe it's not because you've suddenly turned over a new leaf, but I think it might be because you're afraid."
"Afraid?" Jade couldn't help but scoff, all sense of composure leaving him before he had to manually instruct himself to calm down. “I wouldn’t go as far as to say that… But I am… Rather alarmed.”
It took Jade a second too long to realize that it was a mistake to admit to his fear.
“Are you saying that the stoic and calm Jade Leech is too unnerved—rattled, mayhap?—to even dare getting behind the wheel and—gasp!—actually learn how to drive?” Yuu swooned against their car, a pitiful invalid.
Jade crossed his arms, making sure to force his body to sway gently so as to appear drunker than he felt. “Might I remind you that I’m not sober? It’s against the law to imbibe before driving.”
Yuu shot him a disbelieving glance.
“...I see. The great and illustrious Jade Leech has fallen victim to Rosehearts Syndrome. A disease that has its roots in the pursuit of perfection, appeasing to a higher order that will never listen to you, immediate and absolute obedience to the rules and—”
“I am nothing like Riddle.”
“Oh, really?” Their eyes sparkled once more underneath the streetlight. “Prove it. Make me believe that Jade Leech still spits in the name of conventionality because he got too bored to pay his dues to polity.”
And Jade knew what tactic that Yuu was using at that very moment. It was the oldest trick in Jade’s book. This baiting was meant for day old fry who had not yet tried to chase after a worm on a hook. Yet…
And yet…
If they were caught, Jade could easily buy his way out of a jail cell and if he were feeling particularly generous, he’d even bail out this little shrimp who dared mouth at him like this. As if Jade hadn’t penned the rule book concerning mental subterfuge and psychological warfare and manipulation.
Jade held out a hand. “The keys, if you will.”
Yuu grinned, an impish affair that only irritated Jade slightly. "The keys are already in the ignition, silly eel!"
This was going to be more troublesome than he thought it would be, wasn't it?
And it certainly was. For the next half hour or so, Jade had to learn how to navigate the many parts of the car. From the way he had to adjust the seat and the rearview mirror, how to place his hands upon the steering wheel, and realize that, yes, the stick in the middle of the driver and the passenger seats did indeed serve a purpose. For the most part, Yuu was actually a good teacher, if a bit mischievous at times. Despite his reservations, it seemed that Yuu had caught onto his concern and allowed him to test out the car's various capabilities without letting the car move from its parked space.
Slowly, Jade acquainted himself with the accelerator and how the machine rumbled underneath his feet, how he need only apply the slightest amount of pressure before the car answered in kind.
Eventually, though—
"I think you're ready."
"To go to sleep?"
And that's when Yuu released the handbrake and put the car into drive.
To say that the next half hour was a disaster was an... anticlimactic understatement.
Jade hit the accelerator and drove the car at the breakneck speed of... ten kilometers per hour. It was slow going, but eventually, Jade began to crawl his way to a much faster pace.
"Great, you're learning!" Jade dared not look away from the road lest he accidentally cause an accident that could blow up the entire resort. "Now that you can drive in a relatively straight line... let's start turning corners!"
Another obstacle that Jade would have loved to let Yuu handle, but it was rather unfortunate that he was stuck behind the wheel and beholden to the driving laws.
Again, it was rather anticlimactic, but with the way Jade felt his hands tremble every so often and that he had to consciously remind himself that he had to breathe, it was almost as if the world was collapsing upon him. As someone who was born and raised in the sea, it was a rather terrifying thought.
Still, though, jerky movements gradually transitioned into something more fluid and slightly resembling that of a seasoned driver's actions. Furthermore, he no longer had to rely so much on Yuu's encouragement and murmurs of adjustment that he rearrange his hands or to relax his posture. In fact, he began to feel like he was learning to walk all over again when he was in land boot camp.
Before he knew it, he made a full circle around the parking lot while also obeying all the signs and markers on the road.
It was utterly slow and Jade wasn't very smooth when making the appropriate left turns, but he did manage to press down on the turn signals when necessary and he even stopped for a passing pedestrian! Success, although somewhat trivial to all other accomplishments that Jade had under his belt, still made him beam with pride. (Muted pride, though, he couldn't quite admit that he was happy that Yuu had convinced him to step outside of his boundaries).
When Jade slowly approached to a stop in front of the hotel doors (finally), Yuu gestured for him to put the car in park. "Feeling tired? I think you've improved enough that I'll let you go. For now."
He smiled.
Then the words and full extent of the meaning finally dawned on him.
"For now?"
Yuu nodded, a gleeful smile on their face. "Well, how else can I refill my fuel gauge? With the amount of magic you've got pouring in, the tank refilled within minutes!"
Jade checked the dashboard.
Damn.
"What was that one term you land dwellers use when you dupe someone? Pull the wool over someone's eyes? Getting hustled?" Jade shook his head in faux disappointment. "And here I thought that you were a person of high standing."
"Hello, pot. Meet kettle. The both of you are black."
Jade wasn't sure what that saying meant, but he laughed nonetheless and resolved that he would have to look up what pots and kettles had to do with colors.
“Good night, Yuu. Perhaps we can talk at a later date.
Yuu seemed unsure at first, which only made Jade concerned, but before he could assure them that he didn’t expect them to follow through, they nodded.
“Sure thing, Jade.” A beat. “Maybe I’ll teach you how to drive donuts!”
Do... Donuts?

Screaming Through The Cracks
I’ve previously speculated that some conspiracy theorists and spiritual grifters don’t so much have beliefs, but an internal narrative they’re trying to keep up. These people are constantly telling a story, and can’t really interact with people so much as constantly self-soothe by making their internal narrative external. I believe I’ve witnessed a case of someone transitioning to this stage.
Unfortunately, it’s Russell Brand. So this might get rough because he’s painful to deal with.
I had followed Brand with some interest because of his transition from weird actor to accused sex criminal to weird right-wing anti-science religious crank. There was something strange about the man, but the podcast/videocast On Brand helped me understand Brand better - though be warned, if you listen to On Brand, you’ll find Russel even more annoying in large doses.
They had been following Brand for some time, and analyzing him. This got into my sphere as it intersected with my interests in conspiracy theories, politics, religion, and medicine. Russell had been heading for crankdom for some time, but the accusations of committing sex crimes seems to have accelerated his decline - obviously crying “conspiracy” is a way to insulate himself.. Curious about what I might learn about him, I tuned in to On Brand, and faced the verbal firehose that is Brand.
Russell is a fast talker, what one wit once called his “Artful dodger” routine. He comes on fast, goes in loops, says the same things many times, asks and answers his own questions and keeps going. He also will talk to utterly objectionable people while still maintaining he’s all about Jesus, love, humanity, and so on - and of course he keeps going. There’s not a moment of self-relfection in there, and in fact it takes time to figure if he’s talking about anything.
(Often he isn’t).
But as I listened, while only occasionally regretting my choices, I could feel him trying to make leaps of logic to deal with his situation. Verbal diarrhea to try to not deal with what he’s talking about, throwing out questions as opposed to answers, and constantly not settling on any one thing. The man wasn’t just trying to do a narrative, it felt outright avoidant of reality or any form of solidity.
There was a painfulness to it, not just cringe, but it felt like part of him knew he was full of bullshit. Brand wasn’t to the stage where he was entirely lost in his narrative, he knew down deep he was bullshitting, or at least wasn’t good enough to cover up the fact he was. Somewhere in there was a person that knew he was full of it.
It was unsettling. Brand’s an objectionable person, probably outright sex criminal (if not yet tried), and is probably going to end up founding a cult before things degenerate. But he didn’t have the decades some would-be gurus had, didn’t quite have his story as smooth, and you could tell. There was a bit of cringe, a bit of fear, just enough that you knew he knew what he was.
An actor that knew he was acting while ignoring his own acts.
In time, I’m sure he’ll be lost in his narrative. But for now I could look at the man, listen to him, and see someone in transition to that constant narrative, that endless self-soothing. Much as my first experience with Knowledge Fight helped me see self-soothing behavior in conspiracy figures, On Brand helped me see the transition.
I saw an awful person who still had bits of humanity in the cracks, as he worked to seal them away. I see people like him and how they work to be awful, and see how much work goes into becoming such monstrous, devouring, living narratives. It’s uglier than I would have thought.

Finn nods, snapping his fingers and pointing at Jordan the moment her claim is made. "Both, actually. My artistic capabilities are abhorrent, and that's being generous. Photography? No issue. Traditional art methods? Absolutely horrible, it would be an insult to your likeness."
He beams, leaning up against the wall in an overtly posed way. This calm and cool demeanor an obvious character choice of his own. Thank the universe he'd never been bit by the acting bug and settled on historic tour performances instead. For now it is all a show for the sake of repartee - his very favorite thing when it comes to conversing with anyone who has their wits about them.
"While I insist my loyalty is undying, I wouldn't do well behind bars. Snitches get stitches and what not, but Jordan? I'm an innocent man that would get eaten alive in the prison ecosystem." Not that that's the point of the conversation as Finn is very much so more invested in this conversation regarding her ex. While he supports boundaries and space, the manner in which she'd cut things off… just oof. He even outwardly cringes, teeth clenched and hissing in sympathy for the poor guy. "You're not building a good case for yourself her, Jordan."
"No matter, my loyalties have not shifted. Yet. Assuming you haven't committed any heinous acts recently, then yeah. It's pretty unbudging." A nod is given in affirmation to his statement, Finn means every word. "So... what is my totally innocent, non-crime-committing friend up to today?"
"Because you would butcher me as a statue or because there aren't any skills on this planet that could replicate the perfection that is myself?"Jordan said with as much of a straight face as she could muster. Hearing anyone else speak like that would have made her start gagging in their direction but she was playing along. "Not yet. That's acceptable. I'll let you know if I ever find one so you can buy for cheap and add to your collection of pictures of me."
"You'd have to turn me in? Well I'm afraid that this sealed your fate and I may just have to burry you under my house." She teased until the smile shifted into a grimace at his questions. "I changed my number." It was the truth and she wasn't ashamed of it, but wasn't also gloating about the whole decision to abandon someone who had taken on additional time on their sentence as to ensure she didn't spend a day in jail. "We never officially broke up until I stopped visiting." Now she frowned, having not really thought of it in that way before. "So i guess i ended it, officially."
"I may have to claim my friendship on you first so your loyalties can only be to me.." Just to ensure they didn't gang up on her because of how well she could see him getting along with Silas.

~Sliding in~ hello there! Random request but could we get a Billy loomis x reader where maybe his “mr bad boy” persona just breaks when she’s around him and the gang gets to see it for the first time? Idk I just think it would be cute
this is so cute i love this idea!! thank you for this. i have never written soft billy so this might be a bit OOC 😣maybe a bit too soft ? idk you tell me ,, hope you like it babes.

billy loomis. a name that commonly associated with all the bad things that happen around town. graffiti? billy. broken windows? probably billy. a building burnt down mysteriously? defiantly billy. he is every adults worst nightmare and he’s proud to have such a title.
but when the doors are locked and the blinds have been shut the boys sheds his outer shell and becomes his true self. his softer self.
only one person had ever witnessed this side of him and he preferred to keep it that way. but when she held him in her arms like he was fragile enough to break, he just couldn’t help himself. she was like the sunshine in his darkened world
“if it were me,well, i’d sneak behind the ghostface and when he least expects it i’ll pounce. i’ll drag a knife down his stomach and open it up , while he’s still alive of course”.
stu cringed at this comment and sydney looked sick to her stomach. tatum wasn’t listening, she has stopped listen minutes ago when the topic of murder even came up.
“jesus christ dude…”. stu knew he should’ve been accustomed to these comments from his best friend by now but they still caught him off guard after all this time. he helped the boy kill people for gods sake.
sydney on the other hand had a lot more to say. “how could you say something like that ? with all the shit that’s being going on ? you’re a fucking psychopath”.
billy shrugged. he spoke his mind that was one of his dispositions. “maybe you guys are just weak minded. this guy thinks he can take my life without a fight he has another thing comin i’ll tell you that”.
out of the corner of his eye he say y/n walking down the stone path towards the fountain. his heart began to beat a little faster and he did his best to conceal his excitement.
“hi billy, i missed you baby”. she spoke , sitting down between his legs. her back was against his chest “how’s everything”?
his expression immediately softened at her presence. billy wasn’t the type for public affection but today, for some reason, he lacked the control he usually managed to hold on to. he rested his head on her shoulder ,wrapping his arms around her waist. he enjoyed the closeness.
sydney was first to speak up. “your boyfriend exposed his sick fantasies to the group. i’m sure he’d love to share”.
she looked at him with curiousity in her eyes.
glaring daggers at his friend he kissed her forehead “dont listen to her babe, she’s just being dramatic”.
“billy told us his plan to murder the ghostface”. stu joined in , leaning forward with a shit eating smile on his face. “go on billy, tell y/n what you’re going to do”.
y/n looked skeptical. “my billy ? kill someone? i’m not sure about that”.
he held her a little tighter, so happy to have her in his life. she would advocate for him no matter what. for a moment he almost felt guilty for committing the atrocities he already had. almost
“and that’s why i love ya. you’re the sweetest girlfriend a guy could ask for”. billy peppered her face in kisses as she giggled.
tatum was at full attention now. stu couldn’t take his eyes off the scene he thought was not meant for human eyes while sydney was just in awe
once he realized they were staring he halted his movement, glaring at the three people beside him. “is there a problem”?
“nope”
“no, no problem at all”.

Requested by anon
Request; George and reader fluff please, where she comforts him after a bad race 🤍🤍🤍
Warnings; mention of Silverstone crash, bit of angst, kinda cringe at the end but it’s cute ??
✩ ✩ ✩ ✩ ✩ ✩
It wasn’t always easy to be in love with George, of course you knew what you were getting yourself into when you two started dating- the danger of this sport, the commitment needed to always be at the top, the fear when there was an accident.
Yet, you were one of the lucky one who could accompany your boyfriend to all of his races as you were also his manager. When he joined Mercedes, it had been a lot of new pressure as Williams didn’t require this much presence and you happened to be there to help make it less overwhelming.
You two worked like a charm really, George didn’t even need to speak for you to understand what was on his mind depending on the situation. Sometimes, it would feel like it was only the two of you, not only you were dating and head over heels for each other but you also worked as a team.
Coming to Mercedes was a whole new world but it was amazing and seeing George getting the seat he deserved and watching him prove week after week that no one deserved it more than him. This year wasn’t too good for Mercedes, especially at the beginning of the season.
Yet, George had managed to start a quite impressive streak of finishing in the top five during all the Grand-Prix so far- to say that you were proud of him was an understatement, you knew how much he was giving to make it works and get even better to hopefully get a podium and maybe even his first win.
You hadn’t really talked about a potential win coming soon, mostly not wanting to jinx it but you could feel it coming- he was working so hard to finally get that victory and with Lewis as his teammate, he had already learned a lot more.
———
The weekend had been going well for George, and Mercedes as a whole, the cars were slowly catching up on the Ferraris and Red Bulls with the recent upgrades and everyone had hope for a podium as it was held in Silverstone.
After all, what better way to get a podium than finishing in the top three at your home Grand-Prix? Even if he hadn’t said it, you knew George was thinking about it too, what if today was his day? What if today was the day of his maiden win?
Right after pressing a last good luck kiss on your boyfriend’s lips, you went back in the garage and put your headset on, taking a sit in front of the screen to watch George’s race. Only a few seconds were remaining before the start as they started the formation lap.
Your heart was pounding in your chest, just like every single time a Grand-Prix was about to start. Your eyes didn’t left the screen, as if they were glued on it while the lights went out one by one until the race was officially on.
What happened next was a big blur, one second you were watching the leading cars and the next one, you witnessed a car being projected on the barriers. As the camera had filmed from afar, you couldn’t pick up much besides that the crash was horrible.
It was no surprise that the race was red flagged and everyone was sent back to their respective garage- that’s when you learned that George had been involved in the crash. Having to wait for more news was one of the worse moment in your life, not knowing how George was doing until you heard his radio- he was okay, just a bit shaken up.
You were on the verge of tears the whole time as you watched the screen showing George getting out of his car to go check on the one who had taken most if not all the damage- since the crash a few minutes ago, you had heard that the badly damaged car was Ghanyu Zhou’s.
It was selfish and you were aware of that as you didn’t know everyone’s whereabouts yet, but you were so relieved to know that George was alright. You didn’t see much of what happened next, all you knew was that it took an eternity to get the medics and extract the driver.
When George finally came back to the garage, you didn’t even let him take off his helmet that you jumped in his arms, hugging as tightly as humanly possible- you had never been as scared as today.
“ Are you alright? Does anything hurt?”
“ Love, I’m fine and nothing hurts- it was scary but I’m fine, I promise.”
You honestly could have cried right there, but you knew better than to give a show to the cameras lurking around. Instead, you gave your boyfriend a reassuring smile and told him you were relieved to see him alright.
Only minutes later, Mercedes’ team was told by the stewards that George wouldn’t be allowed to start again because he had gotten out of the car which was considered as receiving outside assistance.
It was really unfair considering the reasons that made George leave his car- he only wanted to help after an awful crash. As disappointing as this unfair decision was, there was no regret, George had done the right thing.
The rest of the day had been hard for George, even if he didn’t voice it, you knew it. You saw how he watched the race, sitting next to you, his hand holding yours as they rested on his lap- the race wasn’t too bad for Mercedes as Lewis got on the podium again.
George was, of course, happy for his friend and teammate but he was still disappointed, his unusual silence was betraying him. It was hard to come up with the right words at the time, so all you offered was your presence that hopefully ended up being comforting.
———
It was late at night when George and you made it back home- since this Grand-Prix had been held in England, you could go home instead of the hotel or motorhome for once, and it was definitely enjoyable.
As soon as your night routine was done, you plopped on the bed next to George and closed your eyes. Yet, no matter how exhausted you were, something was keeping you from falling asleep.
You knew George wasn’t sleeping even with your eyes closed, you could feel that his body wasn’t relaxed like it would be if he was falling asleep. Cracking an eye open, you saw your boyfriend still leaning against the headboard, soon enough you copied his position, “ want to talk about it?”
“ About what?”
“ About today. I know it’s bothering you and talking will help.”
“ It’s alright really, and you’re tired, you should go to sleep.”
“ George…”
“ Fine,” he sighed, staying silent for a couple of seconds, “ I know getting out of the car was the right choice and I don’t regret it, but I didn’t bring back points today and my streak is broken.”
“ Babe, it’s not your fault, as you said, you did the right thing! The FIA should be the one to be blamed for not letting you restart, and the streak isn’t truly broken since you didn’t finish the race.”
“ What would I do without you?”
“ Surely, you would be lost,” you smiled at George as you opened your arms towards him, “ come here, i might be tired but I still can cuddle until I fall asleep.”
You didn’t have to ask twice as George lied down in bed with you, his head resting in the crook of your neck while your hand was loosely playing with his soft hair.

hi my love! i was wondering if you could do something to do with teacher!tom and teacher!reader, where they’re dating but their students don’t know it, until they see one of them walk past the others zoom class or something. it’s okay if you’re not accepting requests atm! 💛
caught in the act

w/c: 1.0k
warnings: one swear and suggestive joke
a/n: hi sorry this took me a little! if only you could hear the way i squealed when i read itttgvsfs i adore the concept :,)
tom’s alarm goes off before yours, shrieking at him to start his day. he’s insistent on waking up early because it’s the key to success, and he has to set a good example. you’re more of a roll out of bed and turn on the computer kind of girl. you have pretty different teaching techniques, but it keeps your work lives fresh. there’s never a dull moment after you receive school emails or attend a meeting.
you’re an english teacher, and tom teaches history. you both teach the same grade, though. a lot of your students have you both, so you come up quite often in each other’s classes. your assignments sometimes go hand in hand together also. whether it be his students using writing techniques you taught them, your students doing essays based on events he covered, you work together all the time.
you like to plan your lessons together over wine and many, many kisses. it’s honestly super fun.
you’ve got a bunch of tweens on your hands, which means they gossip. that includes about school faculty, you and tom meeting the requirements. there was once a rumor circulating that you both have your own families and started an affair. you laughed it off because it was so elaborate and so not true. but, you never confirmed or denied if you’re a couple.
“please turn that off. please, please, please,” you whine as the alarm buzzes in your ear. tom retrieves his phone with a chuckle. “since you asked so nicely.” after putting on his glasses to see the screen, he snoozes it. he then leans over and presses a warm kiss to your temple. “‘m gonna make a quick breakfast, if you’d like to join.” although that sounds nice, his healthy eggs aren’t worth losing sleep for.
“i wouldn’t,” you hum, tilting your head up to peck his lips. tom smiles against yours, you turning onto your other side. “right,” he mumbles to himself. “still want your cuppa?” he’s taken the liberty of making you tea each morning because you don’t give yourself enough time to do it. you nod lazily in response, eyes drooping shut. “mhm, thanks. love you.” “love you more.”
he makes his way to the kitchen while you head back to dreamland.
you’re awoken a little later to a mug of tea on one side of you and tom on the other. he shakes your shoulder gently, grimacing when you kick your covers around in protest. your first class isn’t for another hour. “ugh, what?” you groan at him. tom runs his fingers down your arm apologetically. “have you seen my, erm, yellow button up anywhere?” you open your eyes only so you can roll them, in a lighthearted way.
you pay tom back for the morning tea by laying out his outfits every night. he’s pretty forgetful about those things, right now being an example.
“on the dresser. have a good day, mr. holland.” you shoot him a grin over your shoulder. tom pushes his glasses up and squeezes your arm. “i will, thanks. tea’s right there when you want it.” he’s hopped out of bed to change before you can say another word. now, there’s a man who’s committed to the craft.
once you finally get up, tom is halfway through his first class. he’s talking about what sounds like some revolution, sat at your desk. you love to listen to him teach and sip your earl grey. he makes history actually interesting, recounting things like they’re one of his wild stories. even the most difficult kids pay attention. he’s got a gift, and getting to witness him use it is a treat on its own.
it’s tempting to keep watching, though you should probably use the bathroom before your class. you wait until the kids are doing independent work, and head in. tom calls everyone back to go over the questions while you’re gone. he’s usually done by now, only someone didn’t understand the last one. that means class goes over a bit.
unaware of this, you come into the room with a toothbrush in your mouth and paste coating your lips.
“no, don’t worry. i’ve recorded the lesson so you can watch-“ tom cuts himself off when you appear in his camera tile. amusement instantly flashes across everyone’s faces. you’re still scrubbing at your teeth without a clue. “um, love? i haven’t finished,” he lets you know quietly, your eyes going wide. “sorry!” you say through a mouthful of toothpaste.
you dodge off camera quickly after. it’s too late, the damage has already been done. “hey, was that ms. y/l/n?” michael asks, one of your more outspoken students. he tries to look for you in the reflection of tom’s glasses. “it’s... well...” tom glances back at you. not sure what to tell him, you only offer a shrug. he decides to change the subject.
“you know what, i’m gonna let you guys go. we’ve gone over!” he plasters on a grin. his face feels hot, having so many eyes on it. another student unmutes herself, snickering. “that’s gotta be her! look at him, he’s blushing!” “mr. holland has a girlfriend,” someone else sings to him. other kids point and laugh along.
this is all in good fun, and their reaction is sweet. at the same time, you’d rather not have your students see you like this. you wipe your mouth clean and wince as tom endures their remarks, cheeks burning pink on the screen. this is the first time he’s out of things to say.
“maybe they’re just hooking up-“ “ok!” tom yells over michael, moving his curser to the end call button. “see everyone tomorrow, same time!” he leaves the class and immediately lets out the biggest sigh. his rosy face is hidden in his hands now, you coming over to the desk. you put a comforting hand on his back.
“sorry about that,” tom murmurs, taking his hands away. “i’m the one who crashed your lesson,” you dismiss him and sling both arms around his neck from behind. he rests his head on one of your arms and looks up at you. “i held class late.” “well, that is your job.” your remark earns a low laugh from him. the hint of a smile crosses his face. “god, what are we gonna do?” you cringe at the situation.
“i don’t know, but i really need to. i’m about to see these little shits... again.”

SCP Scenarios: SCP Doctors x Easily Flustered/Romantic!GN!Reader (REQUESTED)
SCP Scenarios Masterlist | My Works Masterlist | Main Masterlist | Rules | My Original Post | Request | Socials
Dr Simon Glass
Whenever Dr Glass tries to talk to you, he notices that your face reddens quite a bit
Especially when you're with him
Like, he notices that you were all chill with the others, but with him, you're in a mess
At first, he just brushed it off as you being shy but as time went on, he caught on quickly that you were just easily flustered
And he found that adorable
He would attempt to flirt but would end up in him being in a stuttering mess too
Not only did he discover that you were easily flustered, he realises that you're hopelessly romantic as well
Glass somehow figured that out when he unintentionally found your stash of love songs and love poems
Not only that, you would occasionally get him small gifts and offer small gestures which would give them away
You both made it a ritual to leave little love notes for each other if either of you had to leave early for the day
Being so intimate with each other makes the whole Foundation look at you both in awe (and probs cringe knowing you)
Probably would prefer to have PDA behind closed doors, but wouldn't mind it in public
Dr Jack Bright
Bright is a busy goofball so finding someone he could commit to would be rather difficult
Until he found you of course
You showed him your hopelessly romantic side and he was amused at first
But then, later on, he would fall for you even more because of your beliefs and how committed you were to him
Bright loves the fact you enjoy every small interaction you both have despite him being a whole mess and that he's not with you all the time
Every little intimate moment you both share publically, everyone dies on the inside with how cringe it is
But, the researchers who know Bright for the longest time are secretly proud and happy for you both since he's having a difficult time being vocal with his emotions
It's an absolute bonus for Bright if you get flustered easily since he would be able to tell corny jokes and you'd just be in a blushing mess
He would be even more fond of how cute you are being all flustered
Definitely into PDA because he just craves it
Everyone would cringe even more sometimes when they see how affectionate you both are
Dr Alto Clef
Now, if you were easily flustered, Clef would tease you endlessly
Like, he would tell you all the cringy jokes and you'd be all flustered
Then he'd point it out and just joke around and all
But if anyone else does it, they'd be met with his sharp gaze
So back off from Clef's partner
If you were hopelessly romantic, he would still be a tease, but would secretly adore you
Mainly because he's aware of his effects on his female colleagues
So if he had to find a romantic partner, it would be difficult for him
I'd say he's a little bit hopelessly romantic once he finds the right person
Like, he's def the type of guy to leave you notes and send you flowers
Clef would enjoy every moment he has with you, but he wouldn't admit it
The foundation witnessing you both having such romantic et intimate moments would be rare since he's quite secretive about his love life
However, like Bright, there are loads of PDA with this guy out in the open
Dr Benjamin Kondraki
Similar to Glass, Kondraki would find you all cute when you're easily flustered (Cuz yall cant control yourselves in front of your crush)
Would probably be all flustered up himself, but wouldn't admit it
Sometimes Clef and Bright would just give him a little nudge to chase after you (Cuz you're one of a kind!!! And that's a compliment >.<)
Would probably tell terrible dad jokes just to get you all flustered
If you were hopelessly romantic, Kondraki would be all up for that
Because he gives off that kind of vibe too, even though he's pretty introverted
Is open to small and cute gestures to which Bright and Clef would just laugh at him
Glass would be the supportive mother of you both
I'd say Kondraki would probably crave some affection as well
If you were quite shy, he might attempt to be the one who starts the whole PDA thing
If you weren't shy, then I'd say it's equal, but he would prefer if you were the one to take the lead

Ok earlier I said I would make cringe ocs for Goncharov but I've gotten so attached to them that they are no longer cringe. Or maybe they still are but I put too much love into them that I can no longer do my bit pretending to be a 14yo who just saw the movie and only focused on the aesthetic instead of the story.
So here they are I guess (no art yet sorry).
Alexei Goncharov- Ivan's nephew. His father is in prison and his mother was committed to a mental hospital for believing she was the lost duchess Anastasia. He's been in Ivan's care since he was 10. He tries his hardest being in the crime ring in Naples, but he's a bit of a bumbling idiot. Sloppy with evidence and witnesses. Even worse with the ladies. It's a wonder he hasn't blown the whole scheme by now.
Giovanni Romano- A young Interpol officer assigned to help with the investigation into Goncharov. He's bright eyed and very much by the books much to the annoyance of the local police. It seems like nothing can break his spirit or make his conscious waver in any way.
That is until the two meet at a small cafe one morning and hit it off right away. Alexei suspects nothing of Giovanni, but Giovanni knows exactly who Alexei is. He decides to run a little experiment: befriend Alexei to get just enough information to bust the crime ring. Seems easy enough... until he gets too close.
#shut up casey#its enemies to lovers but with betrayal that turns them right back to enemies again ok#idk maybe i can still make the cringe work. i just have to really tap into my 14yo self's brain.#goncharov#sure i'll put that in the main tag. look at my posts boy.

A sneak peck on the corner of your lips
Pairing: Xingqiu x G/N!reader, Chongyun, mention of Xiangling and Liyue trio
Warning: a peck, hugging, reader and Xingqiu are the same age
Word count: 3943
Summary: You are going on a ghost-hunting trip with Chongyun and Xingqiu to Mingyun village.
A/N: Last time I said I’m going to write shorter fic, well, my fingers accidentally slip and tada, here it is. I feel like this Xingqiu is a little bit too shy compare to the game but I want to make him blush (or any character in general). This one takes me quite a long time to write but I hope you all enjoy it. Maybe I should write Venti next, I totally forgot his birthday until my feed was flooded with his fanart. I’m sorry Bartobas ;-; Anyhow, please shower Xingqiu with a lot of love!! He’s the reason why I can pass abyss floor 11.
Picture credit: Pinterest. ( I really don’t know the author of this picture. If you find the source, please comment so I can add. Thank you (❁´◡`❁) )

Hanging out with the Liyuen trio has always been an adventure full of thrill and excitement. Usually, there would be someone who ends up with all troubles and mischiefs the other two sets up. Chongyun is our center, holding a strike 10 times in a row, while Xiangling sometimes gets bombed by them, but it’s nothing compared to our popsicle boy. Xingqiu, you have never heard of him getting into any troubles, but he has been the famous one in the town for plotting pranks and tricks. The victim is Chongyun, and he’s somehow still very oblivious, despite many times falling into the holes.
Maybe the boy is just too naïve and trusting for his own good.
“ Xiangling is not coming today. ” Xingqiu announces, successful getting your attention and Chongyun’s. “She’s busy with the restaurant, so today, there will be only three of us.” Letting out a commital sound, you return your focus back onto the unfinished charm on your hand, fingers skillfully waving through the strings.
“ Guess we’re off to Mingyun then.” Chongyun stands up abruptly from his seat, the sound of clothes rustling together. “I got a reliable intel this time about a ghost there.”
Glance up from the unfinished charm, you shoot a questioning look to Xingqiu, to which he sends you a wink and a charming smile. The source of ‘reliable intel’ Chongyun is telling you here definitely comes from Xingqiu. Somehow, the boy has managed to stay away from the Chongyun’s suspicion list, even after those obvious unrealistic intel disguise as pranks. You wonder how has he manage to deceive the poor exorcist this time.
“Chongyun, there are only hilichurls in Mingyun village. No one is there.” You state the obvious. How can he fall for this so many times? The light blue hair boy turns at you and tilts his head in confusion, waiting for you to anticipate more details. He is really dense, isn’t he?
“ So, how did you get intel about a spirit at the place if there is no one lives there?” Letting out a huff, you fold your arm, feet tapping impatiently.
“ Someone sends me the request this morning.” He pulls out a white envelope in his pocket and hands it to you, smiling a bit enthusiastically. The envelope has no trace that indicates sender, yet the exorcist assures you it’s a reliable source. You have no idea what his standard of ‘reliable' is anymore.
Inside the envelope is an expensive-looking card, the curving and neat writing dances on the piece. Bringing the paper closer, you can faintly make out the scent of floral perfume mingles with the fresh wooden smell of crisp paper. “By the look, this looks more like a love letter than a request of exorcism to me. You’re sure it’s not from one of the maidens?” A little further away, you can hear the sound of someone choking on breath and a muffled laugh. Chongyun then mutters something about no one would send him a love letter anyway. Oh, so he doesn’t know then. Did this boy live under a rock or something?
This is too well-crafted for a mere prank. Did Xingqiu handwriting improve this much over the past month? Eyeing the blue boy suspiciously, you carefully watch his interaction with the young exorcist while reading the content.
This letter is pretty legit, but you’re still very suspicious of a certain someone over there who meticulously crafts this. If you ask, will he answer truthfully or skit around the subject again?
Putting the card back into the envelop and return them to Chongyun, you finally raise your hand in defeat. Coming with them might be a better solution, in case the exorcist condition gets out of control, you can help Xingqiu carry him back.
“Fine, let’s see the spirit ourselves then.” You stand up, hand dusting your clothes. “ If we’re lucky enough, we might be able to see the adepti on the mountain before catching the ghost.” Shrugging, you beam brightly at the shoulder-shaking Xingqiu and the scratching-head Chongyun. You can already guess what will happen in the village after so many times witnessing Xingqiu’s prank. Is this what we called… experiences?
---
Mingyun village is located on a mountain and surrounded by many dried up ores mines, which result in people leaving their homes and moves to the Chasm and Harbor. As your group slowly trek to the written address, you notice an unusually high activity of hilichurls. It’s common for them to move to an abandoned village but isn’t this a little too much? From broken bridge connect the Guili Plain, there are many groups clustering, wandering among themselves. Even Chongyun tries to avoid them, not jumping on their head as usual.
Imagine fighting this many hilichurls, you don’t think your group can make it back to the harbour in one piece. Padding quietly, you walk faster toward Xingqiu, hoping to stick close to him. At least if fighting is bounded to happen, he can protect you. The young master still keeps his unfazed face, following Chongyun while eyes glued on his book. You remember he already finished reading this book?
“ Psstt.” You whisper. “ Are you sure we’re heading the right way? That direction is crowded with monsters.” From here, they can barely see the beast but you can sense an abundant amount over there.
“ It’s this way. It’s marked on the map.” Chongyun answers, eyestrain on a piece of paper, which results in his misstep and tripping. Behind, Xingqiu looks up and worriedly calls out to be careful. You trust Chongyun map-reading skill, but right now, you’re very concerned about his navigation. How can he navigating if he does not even look at the road?
As the scorching sun blazing down the heat, big droplets of sweat dripping down your forehead, and your shirt starts to stick on your skin. Ah, you forgot summer has arrived. The path is sun-drenched, not a single shade can be found. The sweltering heat in this village is almost unbearable, despite the area is borderline with Dragonspine. How can not a single breeze from Dragonspine drift to this area?
As you lazily following the group, your mind starts going into vacation mode. You imagine staying under the shade, enjoy the cool breeze and munching ice cream. The village is quite close to Yaoguang Shoal, maybe you can convince the guys to head down there after they finish their task. In this weather, dipping your feet in the cold water while enjoying popsicles are the best. Stealing some from Chongyun might not be that bad.
Next to you, the Chongyun and Xingqiu are not affected as much as you, maybe because they carry visions? You wonder how their visions help them to cool down?
“ Xingqiu.” You call, hand fanning your face. The boy looks up from his book, humming, unfazed by the boiling weather. Is he not feeling hot at all? Under all of those long sleeve shirt?
“Can we hold hand?”
As soon as the question leaves your mouth, some things don’t feel right. Did you phrase it, a little bit weird?
The cerulean-haired boy chokes on his saliva, eyes widen in surprise, almost drop his precious rare novel. You think you definitely phrase it wrong.
“ Are you okay?” Chongyun turns back abruptly after noticing the coughing sound, his blue eyes filled with worries.
Xingqiu shakes his head and waves his hand, motioning the exorcist to turns back to his map. After a few second of heaving, he finally returns back to normal, shooting you stinky eyes and put his book away. It’s not your fault that he chokes on his own saliva. He chokes it by himself.
“Why would you want… to hold my hand?” Xingqiu questions, cringing at his cracking voice.
“Don’t you feel hot under this weather?” You point your finger at the sky, bright rays hitting your face. Xingqiu nods in confusion, still not understand how your request related to this question.
“If we hold hand, maybe you can share with me some of your coolness.”
Xingqiu stares owlishly at you, and you elaborate more on how the pyro transfers heat through physical touch, and maybe, hydro has a similar mechanism.
As you explain, you notice how his shoulders shaking, while his face remains perfectly calm, except for the betraying light curve on his mouth. Is he trying to contain his smile?
Finally, Xingqiu folds in half and blurts out in laughter, tears forming at the corner of his eyes. In between his howling, the boy breathlessly explains how you misunderstand the elements and visions aren't used for this situation.
Potato, potato, you don’t believe the mischievous vision-holder over there has never tried using his vision for different purposes other than fighting.
Your face burns up, you’re not sure if it’s because of the burning sun, or the embarrassment caused by the hydro user over there. Pouting, you turn away from him, stomping toward Chongyun direction instead.
Hmph, if Xingqiu isn’t going to help you to cool down, then you’d have to ask the exorcist. Somehow, you already know the man is going to hesitate because it might disturb his congenital condition. Well, you’re just going to bribe him with two or three popsicles when you are coming back to the harbour. Nothing a little money can’t fix. And maybe a lot of persuasions too.
As soon as you make your mind, you rush toward Chongyun, calling out for the cryo user. The exorcist is a distance away from you both, and he doesn’t turn back even when you call out for him. Does this mean he didn’t hear the conversation between you and Xingqiu?
Casually skipping toward Chongyun, you call for him again-
“Chongyun, can I... ” before, suddenly hands from behind wrap around your neck, pull you into a wall of meat. You wince at the hard collision with the chest, sensation of callous fingers on your shoulder bring your longing desired: Coolness. Surprised by the sudden touch, you shoot your eyes wide open and crane your neck behind, immediately meet with a sly amber orb.
What is he doing?
Followed by your call, Chongyun curiously turns back and his gentle light blue eyes unwavering. He doesn’t seem to be surprised at this scene.
Does Xingqiu always this touchy?
The young exorcist raises his brows at you but behind, Xingqiu waves his hand dismissive, successfully driving the young boy away, even before you can form your word.
You see the exorcist shrugs and turns his attention back on the piece of paper, heading deeper into the abandoned village, distance between the cryo users and you two starts to grow.
You gawk shockingly into his small figure starts to get smaller, mouth gapes open slightly.
Did Chongyun just leave you behind? What kind of cold-heart friend is he? He definitely saw you are being held back by Xingqiu, right?
Behind, you hear Xingqiu mumbles something about Chongyun being ‘unbelievable’, ‘workaholic’ and ‘careless friend’. Shouldn’t you be the one who says that?
All of a sudden, you realize your back touching his chest, his hands wrap around you from behind. From here, you can smell the faint vanilla and a mix of woody, musk scent.
He reminds you of old books, the feeling of immersing yourself in a dusty library.
Blood rushing to your face, and the first thing that comes to your mind is to escape from his hold. The hydro user somehow able to read your mind, his grip tightens, holding you close.
In an intimate position, with you both fall in silence, your senses suddenly heighten. Even separated by layers of clothes, you can still feel the heat from Xingqiu. The rapid beat of your heart thumping in your rib cage, the coolness from his palm seeping slowly into your skin.
Somehow his touch doesn’t cool you but heating you up more, your body slowly burns up like a furnace. “ C-can you let me go ?” You stutter, squirming helplessly inside the young hydro user, avoiding his teasing gaze.
“ You asked me to touch you, so I comply with my liege's request.”
“ I didn't ask you to touch me.” You quip back at the shameless hydro user, body twisting weakly inside his hold, the sound of clothes rustling. How come you both learn martial arts, yet your strength is nothing compared to him?
“ This is not holding a hand.” You point out at his long arms wrap just under your neck, sulky. “ And stop hugging me. It’s burning in here.”
Xingqiu gives you a grin, amber orbs shoot you a questioning gaze. Well, it’s not true. His long-sleeved are rolled up, exposing the long slender arms, now is pressing on the thin layer of fabric, resonating with coolness. It feels like hydro is running under the vein of his arm. His fingers wrap on your shoulder, constantly transferring the calming sensation of flowing water.
“Isn’t this position more efficient than holding hand?” The hydro lazily rests his face on your shoulder, smirking devilishly. You have to admit this is much cooler than holding a hand, but this is too intimate. Flustered by his alluring gaze, you turn your head away, feet start moving toward the exorcist direction.
“W-we sh-ould catching up with Chongyun, he’s quite far away.” Stammering like a mess, you point your finger at the general direction where the exorcist was heading, the image of a light blue boy is getting smaller, slowly mending into the heat under the scorching furnace resting on your head. A chuckle is followed, but Xingqiu doesn’t say anything else, hands still wrap loosely around you, trailing steps after you.
You are too naïve to think that walking fast will break his hold. The young master of Feiyun Commerce Guild has proved your effort is futile. He effortlessly adjusts to your pace even when you purposefully try to quicken your step or stop abruptly. He doesn’t faze by your antic, instead, leaning close to your ear and blow hot air into your ears teasingly, knowing well how flustered you are.
From here, you can see Chongyun still having his eyes glued on the piece of paper, still not noticing his companions drift far behind him. Indeed he is careless, maybe you two should keep a close distance to protect him.
“ Are you getting cooler?” Xingqiu suddenly leans close, his face just a few inches away from yours.
You hold your breath in silence, heart almost drops at his close proximation. Can he not scare you like that? “ It's getting cooler.” As much as you tempted to elbow the hydro user away, you know how hot it will be without having his arms wrap around you, so you easily give in.
The two of you keep a decent pace while the boy wraps his hand around you, clinging like a koala. Look around, you realize this place is mostly dry trees somehow manage to root in the barren soil, broken wagons and holed baskets lying around in this place. Luckily, this area has much fewer hilichurls compares to the entrance of the village. Look like they’re also trying to find a shade in this weather. This place is closed to Dragonspine, and you still have no idea how the land doesn’t receive a single cool breeze from the frosted city.
“Why did you pull me back earlier?” Hesitantly, you ask him.
Xingqiu let out a confusing sound, not registering your question. Should you elaborate some more?
“When I was calling out to Chongyun.” You quickly add, trying to keep your voice steady and casual.
“ Oh, that.” He hums, his arms tighten around you. Why did he even hold you closer than before? You didn’t try to pry off his hug, why all of a sudden?
“ Because… you were… about to ask Chongyun to h-hold your hand right?” Freeze at his words, you twist your neck, curious at the face he is making right now. It’s rare for him to sound this uncertain about something. As a second son of the Guild Manager of one of the biggest trading guild in Liyue, the young man has been trained to speak with perfection. Every word coming from this young man is carefully formulated and spoken with utmost confidence.
As you face him, the young man furrows his brows, amber eyes fill with hesitant and worried. Why is he acting like this? A sudden wave of guilt washing your stomach, uneasiness slowly sinks deep into your skin.
You… are not supposed to call out for Chongyun?
“ B-but you laugh at me when I explain about the coolness exchange?” Tilting your head in confusion, you can’t help to not follow the hydro user thoughts. He refused you first, wasn't he? It should be normal for you to find Chongyun instead. The exorcist will probably agree to anything as long as he can help. “Wouldn’t it make more sense if I go to find Chongyun instead?”
“And holding hand with Chongyun? Archon, no!” Your skin jumps as Xingqiu raises his voice, and you have no idea what tickles him. Why fuzzing over something so trivial like this?
“ We always hold hands. There’s nothing wrong with it.” You can’t help to shoot back. “ You also hold his hand too.”
“N-no, our holding hand is different.” He can weakly defend, trying to rack his brain out to think of a time when they hold hands. He gives up soon afterwards. “Besides, you shouldn’t be holding hands with anyone.”
“ For your information, this is much more scandalous than holding hand.” You meekly point out, finger poking on his arm bares smooth skin. Twist back, you lean in closer, eyes crinkle into the shape of crescent moons. “And what’s wrong with us kids holding hand?”
Xingqiu can’t help but let out a defeated sigh, face drops down your shoulder and sulky buries his face in the crook of your neck. His hot breaths tickle the sensitive skin, cerulean locks brushing your cheek. Under his breath, you can barely make out his muffle word, saying something about don’t understand.
You slowly trek toward Chongyun’s direction, humming along with familiar tunes. Sudden changes from Chongyun and Xingqiu have no longer made you felt lonely or sadden. Boys at this age are unusual. They aren’t being closed with you as before, no longer inching close to you or hugging you from behind. They are more cautious when being close with you, more mindful when your fingers accidentally graze their.
If you ask them directly, will they answer you why they're acting like a married woman, always jumping every time you innate skinship?
You have a feeling they probably won't answer that.
“ /N… Y/N! ”
Abruptly, you raise your head, forehead almost hitting with Xingqiu’s. Your face is a breath away from his, so close that you can see his long lashes fluttering like a butterfly, shying away from the captivating eyes. His porcelain skin is smooth and flawless, a sudden urge tells you to caress it. A blush slowly creeping up his cheek, and finally, the hydro user shies away, staring at the road.
Xingqiu clears his throat. “ I was talking to you. You were spacing out again?” You can only offer him a sheepish smile.
“ S-sorry, I was thinking about something.”
Xingqiu looks up and stares at your face intently like he is trying to make his way into your maze-like mind. You shift away from his fierce gaze, but the hydro user is faster. His fingers easily catch your face, your cheeks fit perfectly into his cool smooth palm. Xingqiu lets out an amusing chuckle, fingers squishing your cheek playfully like a stress-reliever.
You feel like he has you wrapped around his little finger, literally.
“I don’t know what you were thinking, but whatever it is, it’s incorrect.” Despite the mean fingers toying your cheek, his voice is awfully soft and reassuring. Is he trying to comfort you? Carefully, you gloss your eyes over to his direction, observing the mischievous feature on his face slowly melts into a soft and mellow.
Before you can enjoy the rare gentle side of his, the amber eyes slowly gleam with playfulness, and he leans closer, only stops when your face is just a breath away. His hot breath fanning on your cheek, tickling. He is so close to you, so close that if you tilt your head, our lips will meet.
“ A moment ago, I said that you shouldn’t let any male hold your hand right?” His voice drops low, golden orb flickers like a torch. What is he planning again? You carefully nod.
He isn’t going to… bite you right?
“ You see, holding hand...” The young man chuckles slyly, the arm was wrapped around your neck makes the way down and nudges into your hand, fingers interlocking. " can easily drifting to this." You turn back fully to face him, the other hand still glazes your cheek.
“ They can easily slip their arm around you into a hug…” Slowly, the coolness in your palm slips away and snakes around your shoulder. “Then, they can…” Xingqiu’s grip on your cheek slowly relaxes, fingers slowly inch down on your neck.
Take a big gulp of saliva, you can only widen your eyes, nervously follow at the tracing fingers of his. His long digits don’t stop after wandering around your neck, they slowly creep up, follow your jaw, and then cup on your cheek. The cooling sensation you craved a moment ago now feels like frost nipping on your skin. Heart thumping loudly in the rib cage, you unconsciously hold your breath, waiting for his next move.
In the comfortable silence, his thump delicately brushes your cheek, caressing the sensitive skin. You notice his touch is loving and delicate, it makes you want to snuggle your face into his palm, enjoying this lasting moment.
“…then what?” You open your mouth impatiently, voice light and mushy.
A light pinkish blush quickly dusts on his cheek, you feel the man in front of you tenses up, but he remains his eye contact with you, refuses to avoid your gaze. His lips quiver but nothing coming out. Is he… hesitating? Finally, you hear him mumbles something quietly.
…you
“ What ?” You cock your brows and inch closer, eyes training on his plump lip. They remain still.
Feeling an intense gaze on your head, you feel a light squeeze on your cheek so you curiously tilt your chin up, just to see Xingqiu leans down and presses a light peck at the corner of your mouth.
His plump lips brush yours like a feather, almost non-touching. It’s soft and plush, but the moment only lasts for a few second. Abruptly, the coolness on your cheek leaves hastily, follows by his sleeveless arm around your shoulder.
As soon as you realize what just happened, the young master of Feiyun Commerce Guild has already dashed away, leaving a burning tomato behind. You shyly lower your head, face heats up profusely. Fingers slowly draw up to your lip, you recall the feeling of his lip touching yours.
You feel like you can combust right here and right now.
Unknownst to you, if you look in his direction, you might have spotted a pair of red ears and his inelegant falling on his butt.
