was gonna post thisz on reddit but i kept fucking up cus i accidentially deleted the images multiple times so i decided whatever im gonna post it here instead, maybe you all on tumblr are gonna get more of a kick out of it

i have a little theory of sorts i've created in my head (from looking at the transformations in my head from memory) where the newer tranformations as sets of two per season contrast each other usually visually-- one having more individualized wings and another having more noticeably individual wings. and yet the dresses all contour to the girls in ways that a lot of people seem to overlook too. also this mainly speaks about the s5-7 designs

harmonix- pastels, long, frilly, flowy, mermaid like almost, with individual wings. most of them have more loose hair and shell tiara things on their heads sirenix- bright vibrant colors, sleek and slim and fitted-- more fish like kind of. also like a wet suit. all the wings are same shape/pattern with different colors. bold streaks in their hair. (i have a sirenix stella doll i got a few years ago and the gradient thingy in the middle of the wings (...er..wing cus she's missing one now haha....) looked pretty cool if you held it up to the light bloomix- overdetailed and warrior like, emphasis on the dragon scales because it's themed around the dragon flame which is also bloom's power hence the name -- all the wings are similar yet different (in a way). and they all have different hair styles. and also tiara type things like what harmonix did! mythix - still brightly colored but simple dresses, with more emphasis on the wings being all individually fitting to the girls powers.

butterflix- frilly and lace like (yes even the shoes and armbands) with big skirts - they all have different wing shapes here too even though theyre VERY similar, like what sirenix did but on a slightly bigger scale with the different wingshapes. also they all have little details on the dresses like aisha/layla's pink frilly bit that goes down the center for example, though this applies to all of them to different extents tynix- simple dresses showered with crystals, big crystal like wings all individually shaped. also they all have slightly different hair colors too!

i feel like a lot of people aren't gonna like this theory but it's what i got. also the songs are all cool too :)

tl;dr: the newer transformations are cool too!!! its just not super noticeable to some people i guess

I've been getting messages like this for the past couple of months on both my main blog and the @isabellanation sideblog from a few different "accounts" (most of which I'm pretty sure I have blocked).

I have a suspicion that they're all from the same person. I think it's kinda..... weird.

i don't know if this counts as an unpopular opinion but i think the (hi hi puffy amiyumi) world tour dolls are a little underappreciated

ive seen a lot of people in the fashion doll collecting space who have these either rebody them or consider rebodying them because they're "weird" and "gimmicky" (also it seems a lot of more recent HHPAY fans don't like them either which is fair because these are the only toys made for the show based on AND VOICED BY the real life people rather than being based off the characters in the show like 99% of the other merch) but honestly i think they have their good points!

for context (of sorts) and for starters, their hands have magnets on them which allow them to talk + sing when their hands touch or if you touch their hands individually with your finger, which is super cool in general

their packaging is neat because at first glance just seeing the packages on their own they appear "flipped"; however if you connect them together like the image above it makes more sense

their fashions are also very neat i think (very distinct and fun, and the hats with the hair braids are an interesting choice)

the way their arms are posed and the way they did the knee articulation is probably part of why a good few people are "turned off" by them but honestly i don't mind it that much because i guess it kinda adds to the appeal somehow

there's not a lot of footage of them talking either but this and a couple other videos (here - ami's batteries must be dead 'cus i don't hear her speaking? - and here - i really like this footage for some reason for a couple of reasons and i think it's why i'm most interested in Ami's doll - ) was all i could find (i'm thinking of getting them because of course i want to)

also fun fact, i originally considered getting the more widely known Rock Out toys but of course i didn't because they were reportedly only sold in the UK (and also i couldn't find them anywhere when i got into these like a month ago sdfvsxcszx - so i decided to settle for the world tour dolls and now here we are

and fun fact number 2, a few years earlier Takara Tomy released Jenny dolls of them in Japan in the late 90s early 2000s. those are pretty cool too (and articulated!). one of the sets of them appears in their music video for Mother (here).

tldr: the puffy amiyumi world tour dolls are very interesting to my neurodivergent brain at the moment

i will admit listening to isabella singing let it snow in the middle of april is actually VERY dopamine inducing! in fact she actually giggles mid song (at like 1:13ish) and that is actually very adorable. like she is so silly!!!!! like!!!! look at her

she is too silly for the rest of the human population

i want the isabella plush but shes too spensive :(
