This response to your ask is an honest review of both Dance Party and Backstage Pass. I know you only asked for my opinion on Dance Party, but I do not own a copy of that game. I do, however, own a copy of Backstage Pass. There's significantly less information about it online in comparison to Dance Party which is why I've watched Dance Party playthroughs in lieu of not owning a physical copy of the game. I've never played, but I've seen playthroughs of it on YouTube. I have the DS version and the 8-bit audio of them announcing the song titles in the song selection cracks me up every time. I actually had to bust out the game and play it again to make this review because I'd only played it once ever. I imagine it'd be somewhat more entertaining and easier to play on the Wii considering I don't have a DS stylus.

Neither game is particularly visually appealing or complex because...

Just look at them. 💀 Absolute dogshit graphics.

AND LOOK AT HOW WHITEWASHED CARLOS IS IN DANCE PARTY. HE'S THE WHITEST ONE OF THEM ALL. Despite having far less to offer in terms of gameplay, level difficulty, rendering/display, and song selection, I'd say Backstage Rush looks significantly more visually appealing in comparison.

They probably would've entertained me at least a smidge if I had them as a kid, but I bought Backstage Rush on Amazon two years ago for under $20. Though I have seen listings of Dance Party AND Backstage Rush on some sites for under $10. I've read on Reddit that some people have purchased Backstage Rush in person at bookstores, thrift shops, and other small business for $5. Can't say I necessarily blame people for that.

There are only five or six moves max in Dance Party and they're not even on beat a lot of the time, so the most difficult aspect of the game (in my opinion) is matching the game's rhythm over the actual rhythm of the song because they are NOT in sync. The tempos of the songs don't even differ from one another all that much. Backstage Rush, while not having any moves to execute because it's more of a rhythm game than a dance game, isn't in sync with the original music either, but there are no varying levels of difficulty. Each song has their own level of difficulty varying from 1-4 bars of difficulty.

Big Time Rush: Dance Party/Backstage Rush clearly did not take a lot of time to make. The Family Feud Wii game looks significantly better than this and has far more entertaining gameplay. In fact, the BTR games seem like games Poofesure would play for shits and giggles. Also, Big Time Rush: Dance Party only has 17 tracks and Big Time Rush: Backstage has only 4, so you could likely complete either game in under a day.

Game Mill Entertainment games are objectively laughable though because it's obvious that they were made solely for the sake of being cash grabs because of the popular characters/figures involved rather than the actual substance or gameplay. And let me tell ya, it fucking worked because I was one of the suckers who bought it. Why did I buy it? Literally only because it was affiliated with Big Time Rush. That was the only reason. The only reason I still have it is purely for the novelty.

In conclusion, I think both games are utter shit. But the audio and graphics crack me up, so I still choose to indulge every now and again. Hope this answered your question!

ATTENTION FOOLS (deltarune ch3 spoilers ahead)

Even though Tenna is a complex character that grew in popularity among the fans really quickly, I've noticed that he may actually be quite misinterpreted by the fandom simultaneously because of the way people look at his morality. In lots of hdcs, fanart and fanfic, Tenna is painted to be this sweet, innocent, silly guy whose true nature stays in who he is after he makes up with kris and the rest of the gang at the end of the chapter. Problem is, Tenna's core morality is definietly deeper than that and is actually reflected throughout the whole chapter. So many people are dismissing tons of things that he did during ch3 only because he gets a "redeeming" in the end, even tho the end doesnt shake a core ground in his morality. He just changes sides and understands forcing people to play gameshows is wrong.

We have seen Tenna taking drastic and dramatic measures if it meant getting what he wants. It's true that Tenna is a kind and (very) sensitive guy inside of him, but he's also selfish enough about his own reasons to shout and abuse his personnel (lets not forget he forced all the darkners in chapter 3 to work for him with contracts for infinity) and trap you/do things to you that he KNEW you wouldnt like, only because he wanted you there. He isnt inherently bad, but he is desperate enough to do bad things unapologeticaly. Thats why he was an easy victim for the knight too. And thats very much part of the reason i'm obsessed with him as well! All this reflects such an interesting dimension of the character that the fandom is kinda sleeping on because yall like his silly side more and are also obsessed with his gay divorce. And. Like. Dont get me wrong. These two things are totally understandable. But I feel like Tenna is being infantilized and "purified" when there is clearly more to him and to his morality.

In my opinion, Tenna is a very sociable, out-there, eccentric and, above all, emotional individual who is prone to abuse power once it falls in his hands. He'd never make a full villain, since his reasons are ultimately good-hearted, and i also feel like he is the type of boss to be shitty to you but interract with you enough in order for you to get familiar with him and his moods, so you automatically cant hate him. Lots of the darkners working for him talk about tenna like he's a moody teenager they need to please or else they get obliterated. It's like some of them could even find him endearing, even if obviously annoying. But all of them seem to obey him or be very very careful when going behind his back as if knowing they'll be painfully punished if they get caught in a way that cant be joked about.

I think people should talk about this side of Tenna more, since its very much part of his character and it's definietly more interesting to regard him as the person that he actually is rather than to turn him all innocent!

PS: personal opinion here, i def headcannon tenna and spamton having had some situationship they're still weird about in the past, but now Tenna found someone much better for him (mettaton) and is in a happier relationship

EDIT: I havent seen anyone talk about the true nature of tenna and spamton's relationship before. Tenna's intentions were to use spamton in order to get a hold of the secret to being a [[BIG SHOT]]. He says it himself in the last (i think?) secret mini-game, the one that gave is the shadow mantle:

I also like the headcannon his relationship with spamton turned more complicared, but lets not forget the primary reason it was there in the first place was for tenna's own interest, who used his persuation to get under spamton's skin! Well i guess that's show business baby

I have, and I did like it, but I dunno if I vibe with it as much as other people seem to do. TBF I've never loved the live action Sonic movies, they're decent enough but definitely not my favorite piece of Sonic media. That being said, this was probably my favorite out of the movies so far? They have improved a lot since the first one which is great to see.

One thing I think the movie did great was the action scenes, the coreography and animation was so fun and impactful and incredibly exciting to see! I also think the movie did a good job on selling us on Shadow's and Maria's friendship in a short period of time, that little montage of the two of them just doing a bunch of silly goofy shenanigans was really endearing. The wholesome innonsence of it all makes Maria's death hurt way more.

EXTRA spoiler, but arguably one of the things that made me the most excited in ghe movie was the post credit scene where Amy showed up LMAOOOO I've been waiting for her to show up. And I exepcted Metal Sonic to show up sooner or later in these movies, but I didn't expect a whole army of them haha but that seems like a fun idea.

random showverse!btr gaming headcanons bc ive been back in my #gamergurl era lately 🎮

-the show lets us know theyre collectively into cod zombies type shooter/survival games, but i also think the guys are into sports games like madden, NHL, nba 2k, FIFA, forza etc

-individually tho i see:

logan being partial to turn-based rpgs (earthbound, fire emblem, pokemon, smt/persona, etc) and grand strategy games (like civ & brigandine etc)

kendall obsessing over simulation games like the sims, tycoon games, citybuilders etc. he's not much of an rpg guy but i can see a heavily-modded skyrim being his exception

carlos playing games like sonic, kart racers (not just mario kart but crash team racing and others) GTA (esp online) ... i think he'd be an early adopter of minecraft as well

james being the king of rhythm games (singstar, karaoke revolution, ddr, guitar hero, just dance, fuckin donkey konga you name it) and is also secretly very popular on 'girly' mmo places like IMVU, Second Life, etc

-they are all heavily into emulation and modding

-they all love arcades and debate about which ones are the best (carlos likes the hybrid arcade/bowling places, logan loves the big warehouse-style joints w hundreds of old school game cabinets, james just likes any place that's got a ddr machine, kendall likes any place that gets his friends to game in harmony + stop bickering)

-if they're at an arcade that gives out prizes, they rely on logan to figure out the payout/win rate for everything to maximize profits; anytime that doesn't work -- well, the old trusty strategy of 'you guys distract employees while i break into the ticket bay of this light gun game' never fails (another tried and true technique is 'you guys distract employees while i violently shake the token dispenser for free unlimited tokens')

-back in minnesota they had LAN parties with a bunch of their homies, they don't do that as often as they'd like at the palmwoods bc of logistics

I still don't think Ben did anything wrong during "Duped." He deserves to do normal teenage boy stuff like see a movie on opening day, and he was trying to give himself that while also saving the world AND supporting his girlfriend's tennis match.
