“Hey BigB! Thank you for the cookies my dude, they were- really nice, like, really good. Did you uh, just out of interest, all the fortunes inside? They all said “You’re being watched.” See, if this is a joke I’m just not picking up on, it’s funny! I’m sure it is! I just, wanted to know if you intended to do that.”

BigB was waiting in the Pale Garden, holding up a tablet.

And Zed was attending the meeting from the comfort of his own laboratory!

Between dropping a shitload of anvils on the R.M.S. Symmetria, blowing random holes into the ground, and even exiling Ren in the first place, the Permit Office Enforcement was beginning to get on his nerves.

It was a shared grievance. Doc’s heart sank every time Ren had mentioned how lonely he was. But the company that was supposed to make his husband feel better just seemed to make Ren feel more guilty. Damn the POE for sending Ren here. Actually, damn the POE for letting him end up here too, if he was just sent to the original world spawn, maybe he could get back on his feet! But no, that’d be too convenient.

You know what? Screw it. This cannot stand.
